Excellent park for day activities, mountain biking, assorted sports and camping. Campsites were a bit overgrown but the bathhouses were really top notch. Our campsite was along a small creek and beneath a rock outcropping making it feel like we traveled out of the DC Metropolitan area. It's a great location for a long weekend camping trip with biking and hiking but not having to travel hours away. Perfect for novice adventurers.

Want to get away from the traffic and have a calm evening. This is the best place to stop by. People spend time BBQing, Fishing. I along with my wife stop for a walk here time to time. Need to explore a little bit more on the Pool side. I think there are timing to use them.

It is a great park. We had our Bible Study Outing today. Love the tables under the trees. Perfect for a hot day like today. Amazing space. We were able to play games, prayed and sang a praise song. We saw ducks and turtles by the lake too. Which my kids loved! Thanks for the pictures Misha ang Mico!

I just love lakes and nature and so this was perfect, I had a beautiful walk, it's very family friendly place, saw many families with kids enjoying the outdoors. I too enjoyed it, a nice walk, while listening to one of my calm Spotify playlist in addition to sipping some chai. There are multiple seating areas where you can get a great view of the lake - breathe taking 😱

A very big park and a very good for camping. You have plenty of activity to do within the park and there is separate campground where you do your camping with your family. Over the weekends saw school kids camping with their family and was looking so good. Heard from friends that is safe to camp .

It is an amazing park for so many things. It is good for camping, biking, walking or running and for skating. You can also go on a boat or go to the waterpark. They have a great trail that goes all the way around the lake.

This is a nice outdoor park to visit (and also camp at) in Reston. There are various fields for sports, picnic areas, as well as areas that seemed were designated for RVs to camp at. The grounds have heated big bathroom buildings which was a big plus when visiting in the freezing cold. The walk around Lake Fairfax is an enjoyable one, especially if you are able to come in the afternoon/sunset. There is plenty of parking to come at anytime, but they do close at dawn it appears.

Stayed a few nights a the campground. Really nice camp hosts. Very friendly. Always walking and checking on things. However it's pretty expensive for not having any hookups at site. Only has electric. Friday night some arguing was going on by the skatepark. Could hear it where we were. The site next to us seemed to think it was ok to have lots of people and vehicles late at night with their headlights on shining right into our RV bedroom. Talking very loudly outside. Saturday night took the dogs walking and for safety reasons we wouldn't go near the skatepark. It was dark and i could hear an illegal dump going on at the two large dumpster that are right there. When I woke Sunday morning, the mess they made was disgusting and so sad. Both dumpsters were filled (had been empty), and broken glass and bottles all over the ground. Trash and bags piled next the the dumpster on left. Someone left a beer bottle and carton in our campsite overnight Saturday. Too much garbage laying at some sites. Cups, straws. Just no reason for it. Had to wait to fill water and dump our tanks at the station before leaving. Glad we left when we did. The line grew by the time we were done. We've never had to wait, or see a line form like this before. I think the earlier checkout has something to do with that. It's a nice place, but we won't stay here again.

So much to do there! There’s the lake that’s always serene (but you might have to go early when there aren’t a lot of people since they can play music pretty loud). There’s many skate boarding ramps. There’s a massive area for camping (both tents and RVs). It’s a great location since it’s close to the “city” but far enough to be immersed in nature. They have a nice bathroom area as well as porta-potties scattered around. They’re almost always clean. The camping grounds we’ve used range from being next to someone else’s tent to being pretty far away from the next lot. You have to reserve an area if you plan on spending the night.

So big & full of fun things to do outside, yet right in town. I camped - facilities were nice & clean, well maintained. Reservation system was fine, easy. What a great resource! I'll be back when I have time to explore the lake & trails.

Love this place! There's plenty of space to go on a hike or just lounge by the lake and fish. Plenty of people get on their kayaks, paddle board and paddle boats. Families have a picnic under the trees and there's a water park that would probably be open if not for COVID-19. Highly recommend!

The park has something for all age groups. I just loved the big grounds. Well maintained by the county. The lake is beautiful and good for fishing and boating. The small water trail is fun too. Loads or benches and sitting area for big family get togethers and barbecue spaces too. The best part is that the admission and parking is free. A perfect weekend getaway.

There are some really nice trails behind the lake that aren’t too crowded. A nice place for camping, nice soccer fields, and a very popular skate park. The bathrooms were clean and smelled nice and our campground was secluded although others were not. They do canoe rentals to but don’t open up until around noon on fridays.

Park with lots of fun. Specially the water park. Have options to barbecue or even host a party !! Lake itself is quite big. Seasonal fishing and boating operations as well. My kid enjoys watching ducks here all the time...there are small park areas with slides and all for small kids to enjoy and have a fun time there..park is open all the time but they require reservations for picnic Pavilion and water park is seasonal too with hours.

Pretty big municipal park with a waterpark, paddle boats, cricket fields, playgrounds, skatepark, football and soccer fields as well as RV spaces. Good parking, clear signage.

Had a very enjoyable evening at the Jack's Glow pumpkin show. If you want to see an amazing display of carved pumpkins, you really should check this out. :) It was a beautiful evening and just a great time for a family get-together. The leisurely walk and looking at all of the pumpkins was a great time!

Lake Fairfax is a gem. If you guessed that there is a lake, you are correct, but that’s just the start. There is a very cool water park that is great for kids. There are a bunch of soccer fields, baseball fields, but there is also a cricket field. Not easy to find those around here. A nice little skate park for the little shredders, and a great campground that is very popular in the warmer months. The Fairfax Cross County Connector trail also goes right through the park, anchoring a green network of mountain bike trails. There are plenty of fun rock gardens, roots, twists and turns that make riding here a blast, and there is a very cool jump/flow trail being built very close to the little pump track that I can’t wait to try out.

If you're looking for a hike, this is not the place. The trails are not well marked. We figured it out. But, it's not ideal. If you are wanting to mountain bike, the trails are for you. There are plenty of other activities to enjoy at the park and it's worth a visit.

Great campsite in town and right down the road from Great Falls. The park and campsite were easy to get in and out of with a 27ft RV. The facilities were clean and in great shape. Thought it was weird when I saw online they had a skate park but I found it super entertaining.

The Watermine is excellent. Lots of variety for kids of all ages. Plenty if attentive lifeguards kept vigilant with frequent rotations and vest. Nice current on the lazy river and plenty of space to sit out and eat lunch or take a break. We spent 3 and a half hours there and the kids weren't ready to leave.

I'm hoping they will be able to open the water mine soon or at least allow the dogs to play in there. Definitely very busy, but was a lot of fun

So much to do at Lake Fairfax. They have areas for camping, multiple hiking trails, a water park during the summer and various boat rentals, RV overnight parking, skatepark, athletic fields, and you can’t forget the lake itself - home to hundreds of animals and wildlife. One of the best FCPA parks.

Always love the quiet serenity of this place. It's nestled in between suburbia and is a massive patch of green calm serenity. I love stargazing and catching meteor shower . I love going on small hikes around the lake. The highlight of one of my hikes was when I saw a fox fighting geese and preying upon them.

Reserved a campsite for Friday, Sat, Sunday of Memorial day weekend 2022 with our 27ft camper. Being a holiday weekend the campsites were not mowed in preparation. The pavilions were but for people staying a few days, more care should have been taken given the price per night and the higher end location of the campground. Campsite was extremely uneven and we were not prepared nor was our neighbor, who we loaned a purchased board to. Price for wood was $10 for 5-6logs - wow. Perhaps we are used to more accommodating and reasonable places. I will say that the location is close to everything and that was enjoyable. We didn't get to see everything at the campgrounds or lake but it is a nice area. The poor lots and lack of information ahead of time is the reason for the lower rating.

The Waterpark was jam packed on the 4th of July. There was still plenty of parking, and almost as many geese as people. There are a few simple hiking trails around the lake, which you can do with normal shoes and even strollers.

This park is clean and well-maintained. Picnic areas with grills are plentiful; you can make a reservation online or just show up, first come first serve. The Water Mine water park is right when you enter the park — don’t be fooled by those crowds! Keep going and find abundant parking and a serene park to relax and enjoy company. Next up, I want to try camping on their campgrounds.

Very well organized lake and park. Trailers and camping site, in the mid of the urban environment. Super cool skate park, and dirt trail. Pool with plenty of slides and loads of places for family picnic or birthday parties. One of the largest parks in the area.

I went to this park for the as hayride, so I saw it in the dark. The hayride was cute. You go through a path of inflatibles. My kids were 7 and 6 and found them cute. Any older I feel they would find it lame. At the end they had a bonfire with hot chocolate and smores (all included!) It was a nice holiday event to do.

Skatepark is family friendly. After 7pm or so, it's better to leave it for the older crowd tho. Some regulars like to teach the beginners rollerskating and boarding tips. The water is quite polluted and I wouldn't recommend fishing there. I've seen geese caught in fishing line 😳 Campgrounds always crowded on the RV side. Tents further out, a bit more peaceful.

Nice Park to bring the family to. There's a playground for the kids and camping for reasonable prices. It's free to get in to the park. In n the summer the Watermine Family Swimmin Hole is a wonder outing! They have a great 4th of July fireworks display. Good place to come to if you don't have much time and want a taste of nature!

Crowded but fun. Get there early to get a spot with an umbrella. You can purchase food or bring your own which is a plus. Lots of lifeguards and it seemed they were actually paying attention. The kids loved it.

Ok so this is going to be long prepare yourself. I have been everywhere in this park it is beautiful my cross country season and pre season training was all here. The trails are so fun and shady lots of memories have taken place here and i will be doing xc again and hope to train here. Also the watermine is here which i didnt know so when you come in all shocked dont be its the first thing on your right my sisters were sad they didnt bring swimsuits. Dont make that mistake 💞

Really nice park, lots of easy hiking and challenging biking trails in the woods. The skate park is fun, the campground is clean, the staff is friendly and the water park is fun in the summer. The "lake" is more like a pond and no good for swimming but fine for paddling around in a watercraft. We have always enjoyed having this park in our backyard.

This park is huge and has tons of things to do -- even now with the water park closed. There are designated areas for camping and picnicing, for several kinds of large group sports, large scale restroom facilities and even a pay per use dump site for RV users. Beautiful in a rustic charm sort of way!

We thought it was a new possibility of using for a few nights at a time as it's hard to find campgrounds in that area. Nope never again. No security at all for the campground.. thousands of people that come to the park can enter the campground and believe me people everywhere. So the first night we left for 3 hrs someone tried to steal our 50 amp plug. Came home to no power and the plug half way dismantled. We had to rebuild it. Thank god it wasn't stolen. The grass was so long it was ridiculous. There is a skateboard area right next to the campground that has bright lights and alot of undesirables there. Trash all over teens smoking etc. Our grandchildren brought their scooters to play on it.. nope! So if you feel like staying there lock everything up and beware. It could be a nice park if they added security and it received some TLC!

Great water park! A variety of picnic areas. Very nice campground with excellent facilities. We will definitely come back again. Unfortunately, the campground facilities are not being kept up as well as in the past. The family bathrooms all need power washing. Vandals have been active tossing wet toilet paper wads on the rafters of the bathrooms. The dumpster areas are surrounded by garbage strewn about. Electrical posts have been damaged. So disappointed that this great campground and recreational facilities are not being maintained and monitored.

Yesterday, the park was so quite and so clean. Not much people around. The active cool breeze and mild sunshine added to the heavenly atmosphere. With my family, I never stayed in the park that long especially with the presence of clean bathrooms. We walked around and my daughter took several photo shoots with mesmerizing nature as a background. Go go Fairfax Parks.

- This park is nice - has a playground and base ball diamond, even had a carousel " not sure when it runs though" - has a skate park in it as well - lots of space and nice views - has bathrooms and porta potties - overall a good place to go - has the Jack's pumpkin glow event in October " I would recommend that as well" - I'd recommend this park

This is hands-down the best park in the area. And the best park I’ve ever been too. There is kayaking, paddle boating, fishing, camping, hiking, mountain biking, grills, ball fields and everything in between. Due to COVID, it’s not packed which makes it even easier to enjoy all that the park offers. The water park isn’t open right now but is great fun when it does open. We did a four mile hike on the trails and it was beautiful. You feel immersed in the woods and it’s so hard to believe that you’re in NOVA. Amazing park, excellent trails and something for everyone!

It's a pretty big park and they've fit a lot of great stuff into it. Lake Fairfax Park has been the home of the Water Mine water park, but there is also a lot of well maintained singletrack for mountain and gravel cycling(some trails easier than others, it's all rideable) For camping they have bathroom facilities that are entirely adequate and well maintained. Also they have a skatepark that's pretty large with good features and surfaces, there's usually a few people riding there, and it actually has lighting(park still closes at like 8 or 9 though)

Small campground. Relatively noisy until sunset with kids and skaters around. Camp ground amenities are good. The camp shop seems to be locked. When choosing camping spot, reserve the once away from the lake, near to the woods. The sound of the geese and cold open wind will bother you if you stay in a tent.

We absolutely love this park! We've enjoyed bbqing, walking the trails, and simply hanging out by water. The park also has a carrosal ride and nice mini water park, but both are closed due to covid 19. They recently opened the paddle boat, kayaks rentals (reasonably priced). They have bbq spots with sheltered picnic tables overlooking the lake that can be reserved (reasonably priced) which are great to host birthdays or large gatherings.

This is a fantastic little park in Fairfax. Ideal for a family walk through the woods, bring your dog and a socially distant friend! There are also mountain bike trials on the south east side of the park that look well kept, and banked for some serious fun. Also ideal for a short trail run. I visited in the late fall, so will have to explore the lake and water park another time, but I like this place a lot. The park trails also hook up with many other trail systems in NOVA so really, the sky's the limit of you're planning a distance adventure.

There are a lot of great biking/hiking trails here, some marked with blazes, some not. We're staying at the campground. The sites are nicely maintained, with a gravel surface for the rv spots. Electric only, though. Water or even a full hookup would have been nice. The bathroom/showers for the campers are quite decent and, probably by luck rather than recent redesign, seem pretty covid-safe (though I'm not an expert).

It's a very beautiful very close to McLean. It has nice play areas for kids, plenty of covered shelters for parties and a beautiful lake to go with it. There are restrooms scattered across the park, so there will not be any issues accessing them. They also have cricket fields, though I did not visit that area. Overall, a very nice place for a fun family outing.

Great place for camping and riding the trails. The shower buildings were hot, the water took a long time go get heated, but it was nice to have a shower. The lake is quite small for kayaking, but it's there if you want to paddle around.

Very family oriented, with trails and a carousel. Lots of shade areas. Can bring your kayak and drop it into the water with no fees. During peak can get very crowded and if you have a reserved shelter/pavilion, multiple people will attempt to "borrow" it and then say it was a misunderstanding. Every time I have reserved this has happened. Book early and come early otherwise people will claim you shelter/pavilion and your grills.

This is a beautiful area. They have a really cool water park w slides and a lazy river that I loved when I was a kid. Then the area around the lake is just lovely for walking/ hiking/ bike riding, or having a picnic w friends and family. The sports fields up the hill are in good shape and there is plenty of parking. The campsite is large and clean and has a bathroom house. I've been going there since I was a kid and I'll keep going bc I love it! :)

This was my first time at Lake Fairfax Park and I love it! It's more family oriented and has a water park. They have activities for adults as well, canoeing and fishing. It's nice to walk around and maybe read a book. They don't have a hiking trails. They have decent facilities and amazing section for group picnics and grilling.

Went there with my wife to just drive around the whole park and enjoy the nice weather and scenery as well as the campground and lake. Lots of open space, plenty of parking, lots of bathrooms. A beautiful location and facility. We hiked through the trails and right down to the lake. Relaxing place. There were plenty of children skateboarding in the skate park and there were also soccer games going on. We go there frequently to chill, and eventhough you are in Reston va, you don't hear traffic, just nature and the smell of campfires from people at the campground. Tents and RV's.

As far as a campground that is close to the city, it's not bad. The amenities are really great. There are men's, women's, and family bathrooms with clean facilities. The issue I have is with the crowding and road noise at night. It's worth a stay and if you have an RV the hook ups are really great.

What a nice quiet spot to see nature and have a picnic. They have restrooms, a merry-go-round, boats on the lake, picnic tables, a baseball field, and even a camp ground. Lots of trails to walk, or jog. Ample parking.

Wonderful camping location. Great common areas. Water park opens next week and it looks fantastic. Front office staff need more training on the phone and how to deal with camping guests. Great bath house. Remember to top off your fresh water. Or you'll be pumping water using a drill pump and a 5 gallon bucket.

Such a great fun park! It's out in the woods near camp grounds and soccer fields. It's got a lot of wide open spaces to fly around and hit ledges , banks and more.All the locals are really welcoming, and it's got everything you need in a street park , I love the bowl alot too!

Beautiful park for watching wildlife around the lake (saw egrets, osprey, herons, etc.. There are hiking trails but they aren't well organized or easy to find. Camping is nice, but individual sites aren't well isolated. Boat (Kayak, canoe, peddle boats) available for rent, and good areas for lake fishing. Lots of picnic sites. Water mine well maintained, fun.

There's so much to review, it's hard to know where to start. Lake Fairfax is a huge year-round, dawn to dusk recreation area with cricket and soccer fields, campgrounds, RV park, picturesque picnic areas, playground, trails and a skatepark. The area also has a gorgeous Fairfax County water park that I've reviewed separately. The trails are excellent for hikes and mountain biking, with constant changes in elevation on the side of the mountain. The campgrounds, in contrast, are just adequate - some of the spaces are rocky and uneven, and the bathroom facilities are not well-maintained and are pretty gross. There's no swimming in the lake, but paddle boats are available for rental. The picnic areas are gorgeous, with plenty of shade and a dozen or more tables. A shallow creek runs through the area, perfect for little adventurers and nature explorers. There is only one small playground, unshaded, that's geared toward younger children. In sum, there's lots to do here, depending on what you're looking for. Most people come to mountain bike, hike, picnic, and play sports. It's a lovely jewel in western Fairfax county!

Beautiful park, we'll laid out and maintained. Lots of walking activities and nearby water park. Sites handle large RVs, all have electricity but no water or dump at sites. Restrooms/showers are very nice and maintained. A dump is available. Office for registration is closer to entrance than campground so it's a bit cumbersome to pick your site then return to office to register.

Lake Fairfax has a lot of public spaces--skate park, picnic and camping areas, sport fields, walk around the large lake, but it's also possible to get pretty isolated and enjoy walking in relative solitude. That's what I love best about the park. The trails I use are also used by trail bike riders and people with dogs. There are lovely fields of ferns and Colvin Run is pretty too.

Pavillion J or K are perfect for all the above because close to where you can dock a/boat/kayak also fish and the restrooms. Highly recommend. Check with the office for registration /booking fees.

Attended a birthday party utilizing one of the canopy. It was my first time in the area. The park was easy to find and the canopy was easy to locate. The water park was not as large as I thought it would be but everyone looked as if they were enjoying themselves. Unfortunately, the weather was not the best and it rained out the party and water park. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves.

Clean, beautiful view. We walked in full circle around the lake but at one point, on the other side of the lake, the trail gets much narrower, plus, bushes cover the trail that I almost missed the path. My daughter and I went up and down a few times trying to figure out how to move forward instead of turning around. We finally figured out that the narrow opening must be the continuing path so we ventured on.

Nice place. Plenty of grills, picnic tables, activities, and entertainment. Weirdly enough, they'll shut down the actual lake sometimes with no warning or explaination. In which case, you'll need to take your paddle board or kayak and leave (even if you bring your own). Inexplicable and poorly handled.

Use the park for ten camping. Quiet area with level campsites. Remember to take a pad or mattress. Sites are quite and difficult to drive stakes into. Grill at each site. Park has nice lake with clear shores. Great swimming pool and all the water park rides and slides. Security drives around occasionally. Showers and bathrooms are clean. Convenience stores and fast food places nearby. Reasonable rates.

The showers and restrooms in the RV campground need maintenance. Crumbling block and at least one non-functioning shower wand. Plus several of the RV spots have a steep pitch, which makes it a challenge to level one's RV. Otherwise, this is a FANTASTIC park. Amazingly full of activities, trails, and conveniences for groups of ALL sizes.

We have been visiting the campground for many years. It used to be very well kept and managed. This time we found the camp sites overgrown by weeds, a lot of the lawns were not mowed and cars/ RV's parked outside of the sites. It appeared to us that the campground is not getting the attention that it should. Is it a poor management issue or available funds issue or both? This is a very nice location to camp, close to downtown Wa DC. But it needs care to bring it back to a nice, welcoming and we'll managed campground

Went to 4th of July fireworks here. They didn't do a good job directing cars to parking (or sold too many tickets), so it was a mess getting in. And there was no direction at all when people left, so everyone was pretty much driving in whatever direction they wanted. Pretty dangerous and inefficient!

Amazing park with a lake you can fish, kayak on is great. Really beautiful astro fields at the top for soccer or other sports as well as kickball/baseball diamonds. There is an RV park here as well! The Watermine is a little expensive if you go often and dont get a season pass and super packed on a nice day. Nice to see camps still use the space like the Y so kids can be outdoors and reconnect with Nature.

The park was free to go in and it had lots to do. free bbq pits which is awesome. Just bring your charcoal or wood. The Port a potty needs cleanning Yikes! But overall the park was fun free and lots to see. There is a water park as well. Which looked fun. Don't know how much it is. And I believe can canoe there as well.

I liked the place here. I went camping here about a couple weeks ago. If you are camping on the campsite, you can ask the park rangers to unlock the bathrooms for you. If not, there are portable bathrooms. There weren't many mosquitoes, but that depends what time you go camping. In the middle, there is a skate park, and a giant field for doing random stuff. There are plenty of trails to go walking.

We come on the weekday early to avoid crowds and we leave before 4. It gets crowded here after 4 and on the weekend. There is a lake and a stream kids can get wet. Its a great place to have a BBQ and relax.

Camped here for one night with my dog in a regular tent camping spot. Unfortunately. It was a very busy weekend and I was given an interior camping spot, which was basically a small plot in a field with no trees and I was surrounded on all sides by families. They also have slightly more private spots along the outer loop. The bathhouse was very nice with full showers and running hot water. The staff was friendly. There isn't much scenery near the camping area, but the lake and other kid attractions are driving distance away at the front of the park. Campsite had a fire ring with a built in grill and a picnic table.

A nice, picturesque, and safe place to walk alone or with friends and family or a pet. There is a lake you can fish from with your own gear. There are walking trails and a mountain biking trail. Good hilly park to go walking for exercise. There are public restrooms, water fountains, charcoal grill spots, camping pads, pavillions with picnic benches, and picnic benches in grassy areas too. Some of the fields host local, community sporting events and practices. There is an RV park here as well. The lake area has pretty spectacular sunset views sometimes.

The feeling of seclusion in the middle of the city. A large party of the park is far enough from roads to feel like it is the middle of nowhere, though they're are planes often because of Dulles airport nearby. Some nice features: - large camping area - group camping area - small lake - bmx pump trail - skatepark - tons of well cared for multi use trails (hike, bike, nice for trail running too) - water park (requires paid passes) - soccer, baseball and cricket fields There is access to the cross county trail and W&OD trail.

As far as RV parking is concerned, this place is lacking in a few areas. There is no sewer hookup and there was also no water supply in the Lots. To pay $45 a night just for electricity is a little much, but the park and surrounding area were very pretty and quiet.

Lake Fairfax Park is not my favorite campground for "getting back to nature," but it's a trade off - right in the middle of Reston, VA, you don't have to drive several hours to get where you're going and if you forgot anything, civilization is literally right around the corner for anything you could possibly need, including the Reston Farmer's Market on Saturdays - a quite impressive array of produce, handmade, homemade, and everything in between. There are some nice shaded sites at the camp ground, but some sites don't have a lot of cover. If at all possible, do a reconnaissance mission and choose some sites that you like ahead of time. There is a water park and there are a lot of picnic areas, so plenty to do with the kids. For being so close to DC, Fairfax County has a lot of green to enjoy.

Trails are well used by both cyclists and hikers. There are a few signs along the trail like I've posted, but no color coding, nothing says which path you are on. The junctions were a little confusing, but I managed well enough. It is a good place for mountain biking. You can trail run most of it, but not all. There are a couple creek crossings where you can risk getting some wet feet. The boy scouts were camping near part of the trail. This perfect for them.

Bare bones Camping! Set up for mostly Tent! They can accommodate travel trailer & Class A,B&C motorhomes. Campsite only has electricity! No water! Shower house/bathrooms are clean and sanitary ( taken care of ) I do have to say ; parkgrounds are set up very well !! Soon as you enter the gates at the park your greeted by a Pool & Water park!! Continue to follow the signs to whatever your headed!! Very clean grounds & facilities!!!

Most of the hiking and mountain biking trails have been socialized--there are numerous parallel trails avoiding washed out or eroded trails. Additionally the trails are intermittently marked.

A very nice and expansive multi-activities park. My only complaint is that the porta-johns were overflowing and un-sanitary. It is not an issue of one porta john but many throughout the park. People were very sickened at the site and attempted use of them in and around the soccer fields....what a shame.

We had a Cherry Tree fall on our RV and the proper authorities took care of the situation promptly, as well as offering to fix damages. This took place in May 2012. If you like riding mountain bikes, definitely head here. Not nearly as technical or demanding as Fountainhead 30 minutes to the south, but there are still some lung-busting hills and rooty/rocky sections depending upon which route you end up taking. Highly recommend a *loud* bell for any and all riders to announce their presence on blind turns, crests, etc. I use a bell and can't tell you how many collisions I've avoided because of it. Although sometimes walkers/runners think it's a good idea to have both earbuds blaring in both ears and they can't hear me. Don't do that - it's not safe for either party. Regardless of how you enjoy the trails here, have fun and be safe. If you see some litter from inconsiderate, soulless campers, pick up a piece or two so the rest of us with souls can enjoy the park responsibly in all its beauty.

Here for Fall FPYC soccer on turf fields in the wet. Fields are in OK condition. Park is huge and arriving at fields far in interior requires paying attention to navigation aides. Cross winds in October can be chilling and affect game play. Bring windbreakers.

So underrated by RVers. If you happen to be firing up smores around a campfire and "where to camp to visit Washington DC?" comes up.... the common answer will be "Cherry Hill." But I would strongly suggest any Rver consider Lake Fairfax park. Why? It is miles closer to the air museum near Chantilly, VA., Mt. Vernon, and Monticello. Ok, only electric power at your site, but potable water and a dump at the campground. Use your tanks campers. And it is much less expensive. Several sites where your satellite TV will work. And finally.... just great accommodating people in the office; and open til 8:00pm. Then add in their waterpark and trails.

The park is big and has a lot of sports fields that are packed on the weekends, I took a walking path with my fog and not long within the woods we almost got run down by three mountain bikers coming down the path, in a way the dog reacted faster than me and saved us both from being run down and them bitten.
