Reviews of Hillsborough River State Park Campground
Did the Timberline Glamping at the campground. Highly recommend, especially for novice campers. Everything is provided and even includes air conditioning and a refrigerator in your tent. Never had an air conditioned tent before. Beautiful Park and beautiful days to camp. Did some kayaking on the River rapids too and had a blast. You definitely need to check this
Once again the registration line gave us to small site. We came in just before 5 pm. No one at gate. Called after hours, ranger was very nice. We get to site and it is very short ( our rig is 36 feet). Called again, she gave us several options, then came down to be sure we were fine with site. We had wanted 14 days, the registration phone number said no sites available. Trip to ranger station got it set up. Pool and store are closed here. So hiking and kayaking are it. But park is quite for most part. Staff here is friendly. Sites are pretty open, you will see lots of neighbors. Several trails appear closed or portions of them. But i have found lots of areas to walk. Be prepared for friendly Skeeter population. There are wide bicycle lanes throughout the park. Several play areas for children.
Expansive park tucked back in the woods, along the river, off US301. Nice park but dated. The massive pool closed until 2024. One bridge closed indefinitely. Store closed.
Trails could use some work campground bathrooms could be updated little small canoe launch and kayak launch at camp campground needs to be worked on you'll need plenty of bug spray to do hikes camp store is only open on weekends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. so you'll need to bring what you need
Great place to camp! Rangers were great when we couldn't fit in our spot they just moved us
Great campground with many things to do. Awesome trails for hiking and riding your bike. They also have a pool but it is currently closed due to Covid19. The camping sites are nice and separated but some do flood with heavy rain.
I love this place
Quiet clean and peaceful
Bathrooms near by washer and dryers available decent showers with hot water
Water and power hookups and a dumpstation
Staff was helpful our host kitty and John were helpful but a Lil over bearing at times people are friendly all around and lots of cute doggos to say hello to
Nice campground plenty of shade. Plenty of hiking and biking trails.
Beautiful river.
This is a wonderful place to camp. We enjoy the location being close to everything, but still far enough out to feel like you are actually camping in nature. Of the three bathhouses the newest one is the best. The other two are clean, but just not set up well.
Park is very beautiful! Great place to explore and ride bikes. Rangers were on call after hours and I needed to call them twice and they had no problem with that. Would definitely come back after catapillar season is over, they're everywhere! Also website says no campfires and the guard shack says that's been on the website for years and they haven't been able to update it
.
Merry Christmas! Stayed here for a week with family. Was nice. Enjoyed canoe, Kayak, biking, hiking, grilling, horseshoes, hammocking. Saw the Jupiter/Saturn event. Adequate facilities, should be updated. Unfortunate droning generator near sites running every 30 minutes. Hammocks only on trees in one's site.. Huge pool. Great trails near river. Very peaceful. Near full capacity. Great memories..
Great campground. Some sites are better than others, of course. There are no sewer hookups, but there is a dump station. The bathhouse in the loop we were in seemed to have issues with stopped up toilets, and the floors were always wet and muddy. The couple days we were there was better. I know a lot of this was probably the campers staying in the park. We would stay here again.
Love this campground. Lots of hiking, biking, kayaking and great campsites. We were here for a weekend of continuous rain. Luckily our campsite did not flood but there were some that did. Rangers were extremely helpful. The park is kept clean and well maintained. We saw lots of wildlife deers, turtles, alligators, anda variety of writer birds
Great campground with power and water hookups, no sewage though like all Florida State parks. Couple of bathhouses, one of which has been updated, on the start of the bigger loop (1-84 or so). Every afternoon they drive through selling ice and firewood ($3 and $7.50). Would return to camp and explore more.
Seems like a very updated payment system but the park is Very Outdated! This is the main attraction in the campground
We love camping here! The amenities are convenient and clean. We only camp here about once a year but each time has been great.
Hillsborough River State Park is a beautiful park. Plenty of canopy cover creating an abundance of shade. Great trails for hiking and biking. Firewood and ice delivery available in the campground. Pool and store we're closed due to Covid19 during our stay. Say hi to Ranger Joey for us!
Great park, I have camped here six times in the past seven or eight years. And I've gone canoeing here multiple times. The hiking trails are really nice. Facilities are usually in good condition. And campsites are convenient and nice as well. Really beautiful area.
Beautiful camp. Lots of tree cover. Clean restroom facilities for campers. Canoe rentals available. Trails for hiking.
One of our favorite camping spots.
A nice campground on premises of a large and attractive state park. Most structures are old but in a good shape (oldies but goodies). Consider it for a romantic escape. 😎
On practical side, there are hot showers, loundry machines, dryers... Mosquitoes ere the only inconvenience. 😖
My home away from home. I solo tent camp here often because it has spacious shady sites, all with water & electric. The Rangers are all friendly & helpful, even when I've (unintentionally!) 'bent' the rules and I feel safe knowing the Rangers are making their rounds. There's even a Host who brings Firewood for Sale on those wonderful chilly nights (all 2 of 'em!) 50% Discount for Florida Seniors, score!
Beautiful park! Lots to do, several playgrounds and lots of trails with an old suspension bridge. Swimming pool wasn't open, but it's huge, and looks like fun! We will return when it is open.
The campsites near the river provide easy access to the trail system. The trails are well marked and maintained. The bathrooms are clean. Some sites are a bit too close together for my liking, mostly the inner loop sites. The campground road needs to be graded. But this is a very nice campground if you like to kayak or hike. Lots of fish in the river! Great stay.
Beautiful and well planned park for camping and day trips. All of the staff I encountered were helpful, friendly, and professional. I was lucky and visited during the week. I'm sure it's packed on the weekends.
Our 1st experience camping in Florida
A gentleman will drive by several times with ice and firewood for sale. Bathrooms are clean, noticed people cleaning them.
One of Florida’s great STATE PARKS.. the River lazily flows through the park and the waking trails are peaceful and serene! The fawna and wildlife flourishes here and there are so many places to sit and meditate.. eat a picnic lunch.. snap some photos.. walk with your dog.. and even NAP listening to the river flow over the rocks. The campsites are clean and easily accessible to the trails and bathrooms. THANKYOU HRSP!!
A little wet after a longer week of rain, but the biking trails are fantastic. Might have to drive over past the muddy portions, but great trails!
Been visiting & camping at this park since the early 2000s. It's one of my favorite Florida State Parks. Very wet this past visit and many of their amenities are still closed due to Covid
One of our favorite local spots. Although amenities closed due to COVID-19, still had a great time walking the trails and enjoying nature.
Had a really nice walk, the park is beautiful and maintained well and offers different opportunities for activity. We enjoyed the Seminole Trail loop, which has a lot of magnolia trees growing trailside and walked along the river
Great place for camping!!! Took the family out in the RV. Camp site #2 was great. No side neighbors with restrooms/showers right next door. Lots of fishing, hiking, canoeing to do. Loved it!
One of my favorites in the area. Well kept, abundant wildlife to watch (birds, squirrels, butterflies) and very nice campsites.
Update 7/3/22: The park and staff are wonderful, the bath house near us while not updated was clean. Surprising however is that on this 3 day holiday weekend, it is not packed! Those that are here have been quiet and respectful of others.
Have camped here twice and enjoyed it here very much. Great trails to hike.
We loved the park. Excellent camping experience. Friendly squirrels!
Great park. Stayed in Old Prairie campground. Not much room between sites, although sites are fairly roomy. Lots of trees, so good shade, but tall rigs need to watch overhead. Bathhouse extremely clean & well-provisioned. Would have preferred a separate, private dressing area instead of a common one for the 2 shower stalls, but since OP is a relatively small campground, I was the only one using the shower both times I used it.
We spent 1 week at this beautiful campground. Just a few things. Most sites are wooded but some are more private than others. There are photos of all the campsites to help you choose. No sewage hook up but they have water and electric and a dump station. We saw deer, turtles and alligators. The rapids are nice. Nice bridges. Each site has fire ring and picnic table.
Had a great stay while glamping during the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Lots of space for family get together
Beautiful park with walking trails along the Hillsboro river. You are surrounded by cypress trees, large Live Oak trees, and palms...all covered in Spanish moss and ferns. There is a nice bike path around the park as well as the paths along the river. The campground was spacious with plenty of room between campers. The campsites were mostly flat with easily accessible water and electricity. The bath houses were kept clean as were the campsites. 5 stars all the way.
Great hiking and very large pool. RV hook ups we're getting old and could use some repairs but the park setting made up for this. I have found that Florida has some really nice and cheap state parks. Will be staying again.
The campgrounds were nice. We had a wonderful time with family. Had an issue with an employee being argumentive with my daughter over tents. We called ahead and asked about tents. Then was told we had too many because they counted our pop up camper a tent. But overall was an amazing experience
The location perfect pieces can't beat the rangers and staff are always friendly ad informative. Love camping here with the family. Trails and fishing beautiful location electric and water on site is nice, grounds always clean well maintained and the showers get nice and hot also very clean and well kept
Highly recommend this state park tent camping or rv
Currently camping at the campgrounds. The camp hosts are very nice. They drive around on a golf cart selling firewood and ice, which is very convenient since you can't collect firewood onsite. Our site is large and has room for a 12 person tent, a canopy, and 2 vehicles on-site. The bathrooms are in need of updating. There are 2 showers in the women's restroom, but you have to get dressed in a community area of the bathroom with the other shower occupants. Not an appealing set up. The ranger station where you check in only has one lane for entrance. If you already have a pass, you have to wait in line behind those checking in. The park is very pretty and is quiet at night. We did see park rangers driving through multiple times. I would definitely return to this park.
This is one of the coolest State parks I've stayed at staff I's friendly and helpful The river is in walking distance lots and lots of trails
The people here where nice and polite everyone was helpful we came out to install a windshield in a RV. Yes we come to you this is a beautiful park if you like the wilderness
Nice campgrounds with bathrooms, hot showers, washer/dryer and dish cleaning sink in the center of main loop. Nice spot for all the kids to gather and play while in view. Some sites may flood if you get a heavy rain. Camp grounds also has a canoe/kayak launch which is very convenient. Taking that upstream will lead to the rapid area which is pretty unusual for Florida. Hiking and biking trails also accessible from camp grounds.
This park is great. I reccomend renting a canoe or kayak. There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen. I saw plenty of turtles, alligator gar, a hawk and numerous other birds. Unfortunately I didn't see Big Moe, the resident 14-foot alligator, on this trip. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
Restrooms are very clean and well maintained. The picnic area is very nice as well. Very pleaant place to have family outings and picnics.
Hot humid summer. No pool? Should have received discount. Down time needs that availability. Beautiful park tho..
Fantastic campground! Spots are shaded and each loop has it's own bathhouse. There's a small playground, free library, and kayak launch right in the campground. We really enjoyed the park trails as well.
Nice campground with a kayak/canoe launch. The campsites are a little small for most RV's.
Great camp ground. Clean, awesome trails and cool Rangers
Pool is closed/ pandemic and maintenance issues. Planning to resolve for summer 2023. Old park in need of some TLC. Staff great and facilities ok. Need hot water in showers however
Spent a couple weeks here. Very nice well kept camp site . Everyone is extremely friendly.
This just might be my home away from home. The staff and volunteers are lovely people. Very keen on detail and providing excellent customer service. The facilities are clean. They provide on site electricity and drinkable water. I felt cozy and safe every night. I hadn’t tried the primitive side if that’s what you’re looking for but I imagine they regulate that area just as well as they did where I stayed. I highly recommend staying here if you want to camp but need a little more all for a very very affordable price.
Great campground, but management is overly restrictive and authoritarian.
Absolutely beautiful place to bring you family & camp or just make a day out of it! So much to see & do! 🖤🖤 …
We love this park. We have been camping and hiking there for many years.
Wonderful park to showcase Florida in its natural state. Awesome campground has large enough spaces you do not feel crammed together. Hillsborough River runs through this park. Water is crystal clear. Watch for alligators as they do inhabit this river here. 2 mile loop is great for bike rides. Old Fort King trail can also be accessed from this park. Love this place and will be returning.
Nice place by the river to camp with your family abd friends.
Great trails for hiking and the river is great for kayaking.
Great place. Quiet camp ground, clean facilities and friendly staff. Trails were okay good. You can have dogs which is a plus. They need to open the pool! Wetlands? Not sure what that was.... they should let me take my jeep on that vehicle trail.
The campground is old and many of the sites have awkward locations for the electric and water hookups, but the park is beautiful and the common facilities are clean and well-maintained, including washers and dryers. Great kayaking spot and so close to Tampa!
Stayed at the campground. Sites can be a challenge if a large RV. We loved that we saw a rattler while there. Lots of wildlife.
Nice, scenic park with plenty of activity choices (camping, kayaking, bicycling and hiking.
Beautiful campground with great amenities. Will definitely be back!
Nice but site was not level didn't matter have how I parked it levelers. Nice people staying there. Bathrooms clean, have a pool and store not owned by State Park cost to swim!!!
Beautiful park with canoe and kayak launches. Walk along the River and explore nature at it's finest. Some areas bridges closed because of COVID or storm damage. Clean facilities with doors on showers and have found very nice campers. Firewood and ice sold every evening by travelling sales man.
This is one of my favorite State Parks! It is filled with magnificent flora and fauna with trails that wind you through various habitats. It also has a wonderful museum giving a glimpse into the past frontier, but it is closed during the pandemic. It also boast of a rapids during normal stream flow of the Hillsborough River, which is very unique! Enjoy!!
Nice shady sites, perfect for we tenters.
(RV's should be placed separately.) But that's another issue.
Beautiful hiking trails thru the park, and of course, the river, for canoes and kayaks. Both the road and the bathrooms are overdue for updates.
Clean. Fun. Park personnel is generous and professional. Overall, pretty swell time here. We stayed recently for about a week. A few of the camp sites are a little crowded, but that okay because it works out for families camping together. Electricity and clean water at each site that we saw. Oh, and I love that the park personnel go around the loops every evening in their golf cart playing ice cream truck music, but instead of ice cream, they sell firewood bundles and bags of ice. Love it!
The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is a fair handful of camp sites are near the lift station for RVs. Smell was never a concern, but... one of the station pumps is really loud, turns on at random times (including 2 and 3 AM in the morning), and runs for 25 minutes to over an hour and a half straight. We timed it and it's random. Not fun when you're in tent city trying to rest at night and it turns on at 2 AM and runs for an hour. But, that's the only negative of our experience. Had a blast otherwise.
I would give it 5stars except for the bathrooms/showers. Toilets are old and stained so they look nasty even when cleaned. The showers haven't been updated in a very long time. Camp hosts were super nice as were the rangers. The park itself is very nice. We had great campsites. Usually there's a pool but due to covid it is closed for now.
My family and I loved this camp site, from the coordial service, to the amazing trails. The kids had an amazing time. Riding bikes, playing, etc... always had something to do. Highly recommend
Very gorgeous. Lovely and peaceful walk.
Camp hosts Ed & Linda were very friendly. The restrooms and showers are clean. Only one dump station. We needed alot of leveling blocks. They come around about 4PM and offer wood $7.50 and ice $3. Too bad they don't offer ice cream treats. Disappointed that the pool, Cafe and kyack rentals were closed and we were told not to open until 2023. Hiking, biking and wildlife here. Alligators and snakes too.
An exceptional State Park! We walked our dog and enjoyed the wilderness and wildlife! The Park has great amenities and wonderful areas to picnic. Added, the kids can swim in a swimming pool. The top thing, the Park's team members and rangers are really very-very nice!
Nice campground. Some campsite were flooded after a storm.shower house and restroom is a little dated but clean. Great hiking trails!
Lots to do, staff fantastic. Camping area well maintained
We camped here for Christmas, traveling through Florida. Compared to some other states we find the state parks here wanting. People generally friendly. Campgrounds are cramped, pretty full, and less than manicured. All parks are contracting out to concessionaires to handle reservations. Since these concessions have no physical presence in park, there is terrible service in some ways. Parks try to make up for this. Lots of campsites go unused due to this unwieldy system, as the people in the park have nothing to do with reservations. Crazy. The showers were also muddy and the floor around the area wet. If you use a sink and want to dry it up you can't, no paper towels, use your own towel and clean up everyone else's germs. Campground was very wet in places and the park staff allowed us to change sites to a dryer one. Thank you! Wonderful natural area full of turtles, birds, wild pigs and deer. Took a couple nice hikes.
I have no complaints about this campground. We're on site 30 with water and electric and it's roomy and level. Most if not all sites are unpaved sand and grass. There is an abundance of trails for walking and biking and some parts of the trail have boardwalks. It's a very wooded park but we don't have a T.V. so I can't comment on that but cell is excellent. Its just north of Tampa so nightlife and entertainment are nearby if you're so inclined. Bathrooms and showers are good. No laundry while I was there but they expect to have them repaired. I will definitely return.
Very nice her at the park.
We are all set with the camper.
Loved hearing the frogs last night with the moon out.
We camp here all the time and absolutely love it.
And the nature walks are awesome!
I've been visiting this park since the 1950's. During that time, they have added additional camping sites, a camp store and a visitors center. Otherwise, it has remained pretty much the way it was then; a nice nearby getaway. The park staff and volunteers are always helpful and friendly.
I actually give this park 3 1/2 stars. Nice state park, beautiful grounds, clean. Large pool and concession building serving food (we did not visit). Campground sites are good size with a sand base; includes a fire pit & picnic table. Shower house/toilets are clean and have laundry facilities outside. Big drawback is several sites are tight to get in to. Not big rig friendly.
We really enjoyed riding our bikes and walking trails. The mosquitoes were another story! But it is Florida, after all, in the rainy season, so I guess there is no getting around them.
Great campground with beautiful trails. Bring your own bike y kayaks as rentals are suspended due to covid19. If in an RV, site 92 floods easily. A+
Quit park, nice sized camp sites. Clean shower houses. Multiple laundry machines. Recycling is available!
Very nice, flat campsites with GREAT trails, bike lane_trails, washers, dryers, hot--good pressure showers in newest bathhouse. Plenty of volunteers and rangers to answer any questions. Rendezvous Life History reenactment this weekend February 8-9.
Great campsite, it was busy but everyone was friendly. The neighbors really got into ghost stories for the kids. Great place to hike, nice playgrounds.
The park itself is amazing!! Makes you realize what Florida used to look like. Beautiful wild animals alligators Turtles canoeing camping cookouts playgrounds nature walks bike trails a lot of things to do for a lot of people. Campsites are nice unfortunately the inconsiderate people are not so nice.
Very nice park with good campsites and lot to do there (Hiking, Biking, Kayaking and many other things). Clean Bathrooms. The only issue I noticed is the dump station is a challenge - bad location. Traffic comes from both ways. Avoid usual Sunday departure days.
Great campground with clean facilities. The hiking trails are great, biking was good, overall I'd definitely recommend this park
We were in the area in our car so we drove through to scout the campground for future camping trips. Very nice park in shady wooded area with elec, water with dump station. Plenty of hiking trails and friendly staff. We will definitely stay here in the future.
This is a great place for camping, especially if you are looking for a place that has amenities. They have bathrooms and showers that are kept clean. The river is beautiful and the trails are great. This is definitely one of the best camping destinations in the area.
Always a great time at Hillsborough River state Park! I have been camping here since a small child and I now have my own family who I bring camping. The nature is so gorgeous and there's nothing like a camp fire with all your family around it.the Rangers Super friendly! The restrooms stay pretty clean, considering it's camping lol
We love the woods and this is a state park so there's lots of those but not too many in between the sites. No privacy in most of the sites and they are small. Otherwise great park, nice trails and very quiet!!
The Trailer sites are spacious and all are fairly easy to back into! Very picturesque with all the trees, nice hiking, nice canoeing,
Beautiful pool! The people are friendly and so are the staff!
One of the best parks Around we camped there least once or twice a year including my boy scout troop canoeing, hiking, and swimming, is amazing nature trails hikes, has an awesome historival Fort as well.....you name it.... lots of deer and other Wildlife roam freely
beautiful park set along the river for easy water activities. several walking paths and nice restrooms and showers.
Nice campground. Plenty of walking trails. In the site electric box the 30amp outlet was melted. I had a adaptor for the 50amp so no problem. Will camp here again.
Awesome time!!! Glamping is the way to go.
Nice camping area. Bathrooms could be updated! Old and not much privacy in shower area. Hard to hike with mosquitoes so thick. Seeing deer every day. Lots of birds, squirrels and butterflies! Relaxing time in nature.
Very nice clean park! Staff helpful. First ever camp where they come around before dark selling ice and firewood for the night.
Great walking & biking park in close proximity to Tampa for sightseeing. Campground sites could use some work & you need to be particular in picking your site - otherwise side by side by side and center campground has newest comfort station.
Had a great time. Very dog friendly and they have a huge pool
Nice park. Pool and cafe, no other state park has had one that we have gone to. LG sites, quiet and we'll kept.
Amazing place! We are going to come back for sure!
Nice campground. Clean bathroom and shower areas. This park has lots to offer so you can come set up your tent and stay in the state park.
Very nice! Friendly staff. Clean grounds...HOWEVER, we do wish they cut back the poison ivy. It's everywhere. 😔
Site 31 right next to canoe launch. Pretty! …
Nice staye park campground. Many miles of walking trails. Clean restrooms and grounds. We'll definitely comeback when more things are open.
Could easily be better than the C+/B- it is. Site 21 is a big mud pool when it rains, as are many others. A little fill could easily improve that. Showers definitely need attention in all respects.
Will definitely come back. Coffee with the rangers this morning was very informative. All of the staff were great and the park itself is amazing. Great walking trails.
Campground is old and needs to be updated. Bathrooms especially! Front gate personnel need to be trained in dealing with the public. We pulled in past the gate pulling a trailer to get out of the way of traffic got out walked back to the office And was scolded for doing so. So if you go there stop and register. Don't pull past the gate and walked back to register, are you will get reprimanded.
Beautiful state park. Camping with option for electricity. Many trails to walk.
I can't say enough great things about this park. It is a treasure in Hillsboro country. Anytime you can get a chance to visit here you should. We were on a tram ride earlier that was a great experience. Lots of person interaction, and the guids were exceptional.
Nice place. We live close by and have gone to park hiking & camping.
We love the location but during Spring Break this year we found the washers and dryers had been removed. Today we arrived July 4th and found out the camper store is under new management and cannot find out when they will be open.
My wife and I had a wonderful time with our pup. Great park to get a way but still so close to home. Love the trails along the river
Great place, clean, relaxing, great trails and great place for riding bikes. Only disappointment is still do not have use of kayaks or canoes available or pool.
Awesome can't wait to go back!
Had a wonderful time wished I would have known about the tours earlier would like to go back to learn more things fun time
We come here every year for Thanksgiving. We just drive up for a day while many of our family members stay for a week. Peaceful, beautiful place. Lots of fun and relaxation. We look forward to many years to come.
Great campground. Friendly rangers. Great true Florida environment.
Beautiful Park, well maintained, excellent service! Our family loved it and can't wait to go back!
Beautiful park with great trails, we stayed in the campground that is very nice, however some site's flood with heavy rain.
It was great. Alligators were in the rivers. Great place to kayak. Great picnic area. Great hiking.Small rapids. Beautiful
Always friendly rangers, spacious wooded, and mostly shaded sites...7 miles to shopping if needed extra supplies.Huge pool and restaurant open after Covid 19.....great place for families or just single person.
Nice campground, typical for under budgeted state park. Rangers were nice, helpful. Campground maintained reasonably well. No issues
Great place to enjoy living outdoors enjoying meeting new people and sound of nature deers just walks so close to u. Big pool love it. Great camping and canoeing for vacation
Great kayaking good trails to hike and very nice Campground.
Great State Park Campground with lots of large sites, nice bath houses, and great trails along the river with a large suspension bridge over river.
Well went there when tropical storm Elsa arrived in the area so I really can't put a review in cause we got mandatory evacuated out of there but I did get a full refund.
Nice level spaces, not all squished together. Clean. Peaceful. Enjoyed it immensely
Out favorite place to camp. We had been set up for about an hour and a half when several deer came up within 30 yards of our camper. Great place to see the real Florida.
Terrific! Showers are very hot for an endless amount of time. They have a washer & dryer for campers to use and a sink to do dishes.
Beautiful state park..old florida..
Just posted a review previously. Weather was awesome.
Really enjoy our selfs. T people were very helpful. Special Thanks to one of their regular. (A camper) work an replaces it for us.
Great State Park, organized, well kept, peaceful and Lush Forest. River activities, Kayaking, Canoeing.......great.!
Our favorite park of all time. Moved out of Florida and will always remember the fun we had camping at site 64!
The park used to be really nice. Now its swampy at the sites, run down, picnic tables are nasty the only good thing was the ranger tour.
I. Always enjoy my visit..i gave a 4 start because during heavy rain you best know whice sites dont floods .. Or you have wet feet when step out your camper...
One of the Best Campground to camp at...
Super nice park enjoyed our four-day stay even got to get in the pool there is a $4 charge for it their concession stand has decent food and their milkshakes are great
Great park with hiking and kayaking. Friendly staff.
Such a beautiful place. The rangers were friendly and informative. Lots of wildlife too. We'll be staying there again.
Nice local place to camp. Water and electric, with dump station only.
Very colorful mix of campers.
Very nice park grateful adventures bike riding trail walking
The Park rangers are just great, they are always willing to help in a very courteous and professional manner from checkin through checkout. The park is always well kept.
Way too many campsites for the area. Some sites are just fine but others are squeezed too close together.
very nice park
Great place to camp! Bring anything from Tents to the largest RV's. Hiking along Hillsborough River is nice and easy with great views.
Have to give it a 3. All the site sit lower then the road and surrounding areas causing the sites to fload. Nightly summer time rain makes for a big mud pit.
It's no frills camping nice place to stay. Bathrooms are clean. Camping spots are natural and well shaded and small
Beautiful park! Great for walking, biking and relaxing! Nice campground. Very clean!
It's a very pretty place but it's too busy for me. The bathrooms are clean. I was there kayaking the water's very nice.
Nice state park. Well kept. The rangers do a great job. Enjoy every trip here.
Lovely park, nice camp grounds
Nice staff
Nice clean, quiet park. Would of been ex. If the pool and cafe were up and running
The people are very nice and respectful and the park is well kept. I live here in my travel trailer and its the best park i have been to in florida
Love the nature scenery. Really nice recreational place to spend a day with your family.
Excellent camping. Great area with plenty of the extras and Florida fauna.
Lots of great hiking trails! The sites are large, and lots of different birds!
I'm giving it 4 stars only because you have to pay for the pool separately and it's filthy.
The park itself is gorgeous and great.
Great trails
Beautiful place, well kept, nice hiking trails, swimming and water activities. Highly recommend!
Love camping here, bathrooms always cleaned and lots are all nice and separated good 👍 …
Hillsborough State. park is a very nice and clean Park. We had a nice experience here. I would give it 5 stars.
One of the best State Parks in Florida.
This staff works hard to keep everyone safe.
Thank you for all you do!!!
Rangers were the best. The coons will open an unlocked car. Believe it!
Awesome camping! Lots of trails, nice one way paved road
Had a great time took my mother fishing there along the Hillsborough River caught a couple of small fish add a turtle
Beautiful park, lots to see and do. Lots were large and easy for parking and setting up.
My favorite Florida State Park! Beautiful sites for camping and a tremendous swimming pool!
Nice camp ground. Baths were awesome. Everything was very clean!
Great park. Has a pool and a restaurant inside the park for those staying longer than a day.
Love this camping ground. It's true camping in the woods, and it's very clean.
Great place for a weekend or a week. Look forward when the park is full open.
Love going here. Let's you get away from society and enjoy quiet relaxation while camping
Great camping site to relax, go kayaking or hiking
Trails were nice but not marked well. Bridges need repair.
nice quit spots
Very enjoyable, sat around the fire, made new friends (social distance) highly recommend
Beautiful park with give me a minute please, not all of which are available during covid-19.
It's a beautiful park. The campground is ok.
Quiet, level camp sites.
Water and electric only.
Camped out the fourth of July and the camp site was clean and there is a place to shower and wash your clothes.
Trails,camping and great weather..
