The absolute epitome of the privilege to be able to camp, swim, fish, golf, shop and lay on what amounts to a private beach is possibly the biggest benefit to any qualifying veteran and their families. MacDill is akin to a private club. Go behind the gates and you feel protected, welcomed and thankful. If you're a service member and you have access and leave MacDill less than 5 stars then you need a reality check👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

MacDill is a beautiful AFB. Private beach, access to fishing right from the docks or beach. The camp is located at the furthest point in the park! But noting takes that long to get to. It’s a nice drive. This is it’s own city. Post office on base and mail delivered to the FamCamp post office. The camping area is close. Not much room between sites. Everyone seems very courteous about noise. No issues. Had to stay at a partial hook up site when we first got here. We over to a FHU spot after 2 days. Free cable, free use of mailbox, but there is a $20 deposit for the key, refunded when you turn it in. Unless you have reservations, you pay for 2 weeks at a time. There is an Annex campground, spacing is better there but it’s much further away from the beach and mailboxes. No campfires. Lots of birds. Catch blue crabs right off the beach. Beach is good size. Dog beach also. 5 stars would have been given if the spaces were so close together. Make sure you use the Main Gate at the round a bout. RVs of any size other than a van will be turned away.

Very nice experience, even though we're going home with so many bug bites... it's not even funny. Wow, the place it's super nice, the registration was good and the host was great. But we will give it one more try in nicer months...the mosquitoes situation was out of control. So be aware in July!

Staff is friendly and very professional. Stopped in to get some ant treatment. One recommendation: invest in some acoustic tiles to reduce the loud echoes. It's very difficult to hear the staff. I know it must be difficult for them as well. Bioenvironmental health at the hospital could do an audit and may be able to help justify the additional funds.

Very nice and clean setup. Great customer service from Jen, she provided us with a lot of information and answers to our questions. A lot to offer here at Macdill AFB between the FAMCAMP, Outdoor Rec and ITT. The walking trails, gym, indoor pickleball court are outstanding.

Nice campground and awesome people! Remember that illogical military policies apply, so try to be patient and kind. Oh...watch out for fire ants everywhere and mosquitoes can get pretty bad at times.

Stayed for 2 weeks before. The staff could be more knowledgeable and friendly. When you go in to check in or reserve some people either want to do their job or don't. The most part after that it's a great place. Wish we could be allowed to have camp fires but I get why we can't.

I kind of want to keep this place a secret however there's more than 300 camping spaces so you would have more people know about it there's still plenty to go around. There is a Beach area right in the campground there is a restaurant and bar right in the campground and the marina is right in the campground! This is an amazing place to go with the family or just for the weekend. We spent spring break here and loved exploring the Tampa area!

Even when the snow birds are here, this is a very quiet, clean, peaceful RV park. Connected to the base marina and a stones throw away from the base golf course, it's a perfect place to come and enjoy RV and camping living. The laundry room has plenty of machines to take care of your clothes and I never had to wait. The club offers hot food and cold drinks if you decide not to cook. I always enjoy coming here.

Nice park, but signing in was a marathon event. Registration requirements are more than any military base we have stayed. It's OK, just be prepared with all your documents. Not sure how they do site assignments, but when we were there, May 2022, there were plenty of open sites and we were placed in a crowded area. We went back to registration and ask to move to a different site and were told it was taken. We were there a week and no one was ever on the site. I guess someone had paid for site and had already gone??? RV park is right on bay, so you must drive thru entire base to reach park. Overall it was a nice park and we would stay again.

Large outdoor rec operation with RV sites that have full hook up, dry camping and tent camping. Marina is nice. Beach is nice. Bathhouse large with ample washer/dryers that use quarters. Dog friendly but no xpens allowed. Beautiful wildlife and walking. Within 3 miles of entire base. Stunning harbor views.

RV park located on MacDill AFB that has a non-swimmable bc of high bacteria. Accessible only to active military and veterans. List 300+ RV slots which are very close together. RVers have access to many of the base amenities. Covid-19 Alert: Masks were not worn. Close proximity parking may increase risk.

Reasonable rates. Great location. Callous management (their paycheck is only ~1% dependent on you). Floods often. No-see-ums feast on anyone outside morning and evening. Rentable RVs may require repairs when you rent them.

We love Macdill! We have so many family and friends here as we were stationed at macdill. FAMCAMP is great the noseeums are terrible no matter what time of year. We dont spend much time outside because of it. Which stinks. The spots near the beach are much smaller. But we are so fortunate to be able to camp here. And we love our Tampa military family!

MacDill AFB is a wonderful RV park,people are awesome and the base has all the Aminities . The facilities are spick and span, showers hot and the park clean the sites are perfect. Staff very competent and friendly. Very close to the beach, which was clean white sand and for all of that for a more then reasonable price. Much Thanks for your hospitality and the C-141 star craft. Oh one last thing. The front gate has very intelligent sharp gards that know their base. Much thanks MacDill AFB. Sims Family pet friendly

Very inexpensive RV weekend with the grandbabies (8, 6, & 4 year olds). Within walking distance you have the beach and jungle gym (not right location, shaded, or enough for kids). Lots of flying and walking bugs, but they have done a much better job getting rid of sand spurs. MacDill is only 20 miles from our Tampa home and the grandbabies think we are in another state or country. . . making great memories!

Nice park, friendly staff and overall a pleasant atmosphere. The winter season fills up quickly, over a year in advance. I suspect it's the same snowbirds every year but that's cool. We're only here for a few days and there's overflow dry camping available for $10 a night. Hard to pass up at that rate. They do rotate from the dry to the full hookup but I'm not sure how that works. We have neighbors who were rotated here and had never dry camped before. They both bought small generators locally. Overall, a very nice experience. I'd definitely come back again

Nice park. Earlier reviews indicate the place is full during snowbird season. it was very open during our stay. We asked to be by the water and they put us in an area with permanent residents. Some had clutter outside, but most were tidy. the check-in staff was pleasant. The entrance to the base is a bit of a challenge. If arriving before 2pm, RV;s use a different gate, which is a bit out of the way. If arriving after 2pm, everyone enters the main gate, keeping in the outside lane. The RV park is "way the heck" around the base, so be prepared for a bit of a drive. Very nice beach just across the road from the park. Be aware of the no-see-ums. they bit us quite a lot.

A very nice campground if your military, family, etc... A bunch of fun things to do. Food is low priced at the exchange. Revelry plays daily at 5 and 5. Taps played last night at 10, we thought it was due to a false soldier coming home. I have seen many different types of of military aircraft, the gun range is close by, hear it all day but it's actually quiet. A very unique camping experience and it's cheap.

This is just a wonderful spot. First off, the Base is located in a great spot. This place has its own Beach. And it's never very crowded. They also have a great selection of RV and Tow trailers, Plus boats to select from. I would highly recommend for any active-duty soldiers Sailors or are men to check this place out.

RV Park! If you like Rv parks. However, we are tenters... Told to set up anywhere in the tiny zone allotted for tents. We made do pretty good. Picnic table. No fires allowed. Shared bathroom for all. Half the showers in womens not operational. Decently clean, but not fabulous. Big laundromat area within restroom building. Great beach! Beautiful views! Restaurants to choose from, so we did not cook in camp at all. What fun! Great hiking trails behind the tent zone. Spotted a nest of Great Horned Owls and that was cool🤘👍😊 All cyclists are required to wear helmets on Base 😑

Me and my wife are retired and travel every winter to Florida and always stay on military bases. This was our first time at famcamp and it was great !! The office staff was friendly and helpful. They were always very accommodating. The Marina staff was just as nice. The Camp was clean, and the base had everything you need. The beach at the campground was excellent. Thank you so much Famcamp staff for giving us a great experience! We will definitely be back.

MacDill fam camp is very nice. Clean facilities, nice people to deal with, close to great beach. Hard to get in..very busy. Be persistent and flexible and you will get in though it might not be a long stay in season

Close to the beach there's a bowling alley swimming pool with a water slide very friendly commissary there's a little walking trail laundry point the really stupid thing is they closed them out so you have to find somewhere else to do your mail otherwise go

Laundry facilities constant issues with AC, laundry area is connented with Bathrooms and showers and has no AC so the bathroom/showers are very hot, it does have a fan (loud) but it doesn't give cool air, many times doors are kept opened, be ready to experience mosquitos. RV lots: very narrow, little pavement and lots are super close to one another, has RV dealer feel.

1st time RVing on MacDill AFB. We had a blast. Staff super friendly and helpful. Camp ground was top notch. Played on beach, fished, biked, kayak and cook and ate some awesome food bought at the commissary!! We will definitely be back! MACDADDY APPROVED!

Follow the rules, volenteer, meet great people!! Fishing and boating are great! Great Doctors and hospitals in area! Planned camper activities start in Dec and end early March. No bug free air conditioned card and game room/building for years...

Great place to camp, to get away or to entertain the family. Something for everyone. Staff is not very friendly and have lots of rules but that isn't so bad. Restaurant right on the private beach. Dog beach. Boating slip with boat rentals. Very nice.

Nice and quiet. Lots of cable channels. All of the utilities for public use are clean. Two things I dislike about the it are, the concrete pad for the camper doesn't go all the way to the road. The second thing is there is no internet in the campground. I would suggest this campground to other people.

Very nice beach area. Am able to rent watercraft and pavillions. They are very helping to scout units, cleaned up our area, ported out the trash and we weren't charged for our pavillion. Good shower area with alot of hot water.

The Night Camphost is the opposite of friendly. The front office has backwards ways for reserving a spot and they make it seem they are full when there has been empty spots this whole time we have been here. But as far as emmenities the laundry room is really nice, they have three, nice dog parks, there are ant hills everywhere outside , they offer night out with transportation and it's steps away from the beach. The base offers free movies and bowling.

Probably one of my favorite campsites I've ever been to. MWR, beach access, and base access. The sites are pretty close together but it's always surprisingly quiet. it's one reason why I like camping so much. Everyone's usually very respectful.

This Air Force Base actually had a very nice tent facility unlike a lot of the military facilities that are trying to do away with their tent camping areas... Bring insect repellent as the tent area is adjacent to a large mosquito breeding Mars. This park is adjacent to a gorgeous Beach and has access to a recreational facility right on the beach and a very nice Marina

Located right next to the beach, golf course and Recreation center that rents paddle boards, kayaks, reels and more. Park has 24/7 laundry, two dog parks, wilderness trail, & mail service. Limited to active duty or retired military. Gets full during winter months; standard snowbird rotation for Florida.

This is a great Famcamp! The beach area is great for the kids. The Sea Scapes Beach house is located in the Famcamp and offers great food at reasonable prices..crab legs tomorrow night! We will be coming back. Be aware this is a major retired military snowbird nesting site. During the winter months this place is packed.

If your looking for a pretty good RV park just South of Tampa, MacDill is it. There are some basic rules to follow and they are fairly strict on. It's too keep the peace with the Famcamp area. The cost is around $440 a month and it's well worth the money. There is a local restaurant called sea scapes that only opens for lunch, then opens at 12pm on Fri - Sun for the evening hours. The Famcamp office is very useful in assisting arrived RV's. The base does have a swimming pool, bowling, a massive golf course, theatre (Thur - Sat only). Enormous BX/commissary, and all other normal base admin areas.

My husband and I love it here there is plenty of things to do here, you can rent boats like canoes and kayaks and pontoon boat paddle boards, there is many places to eat, they have three dog parks and one on the beach for your pooch, next to the people only beach with volleyball net and play ground on the beach to, they have washer and dryer here next to the bath house all in one building.
