The Kiener plaza is a small park offering great views of the Old Courthouse and the gateway arch, a real treasure in the city centre. Kiener Plaza is like a town square for the city of St. Louis. New buildings overlooking the ballpark and the historic Old Courthouse (which has museum exhibit rooms) frame the park. Also the Wainwright Building is on its west side. This building, designed by Louis Sullivan, is considered to be the first steel-frame office building, built in the 1800s. Kiener himself is memorialized by a statue titled "The Runner". He was an athlete at the 1904 St. Louis Olympic Games. I always park on the street nearby, and it is within walking distance of the Gateway Arch. For children, there are structures that are fun to climb on.

The park itself is a nice go-to place for a casual visit, sit down and sip coffee, have the little ones play in the kids area, or ice skating during the winters. What makes it more special is that during holidays time (Christmas), it’s lit up so nice with a tree, and lights, surrounded by warm igloos where you can go rest in between, and also there’s a coffee truck that has few good options. A must visit place for a casual and relaxed evening during Christmas.

I really liked the park... So green and clean and the weather was still kind of cold even by end of May. The strange thing with the park was that it had a curfew between 8 pm-10 pm, which really made me feel uncomfortable walking around. You couldn't find people walking around there even earlier than that...

I was here for the March for Our Lives rally. The acoustics were mostly good, the renovated fountain looked very nice, and the playground was clean and well-kept.

We went here for winterfast. Nice family event. They had a dj and firedancers and ended the event with fireworks. It could have been better laid out and organized, but overall, we enjoyed ourselves.

This park is a must stop location if you are spending time in St. Louis. You get an incredible view of the old courthouse with the arch perfectly going over it. Pro tip with taking pictures from a distance. Zoom in on your camera and it pulls the background closer to your subject. It makes the arch seem closer than it is. I added 2 photo is of my wife and I with one picture we used zoom at x2 to make the arch bigger and one at x1 (standard photo) but stood closer. Both photos the camera was in the exact same spot. Zooming in makes a huge difference when trying to capture you in front of a distant item! Hope you appreciate the travel photo tip! This park always had something going on. Kids loved playing in the park. Several people were riding bikes, a few people were dancing, and some plying music. We caught a whole dance crew that was filming some routines. That was really neat. Come in the evening especially during the spring or late fall when not many people will be around so you can get photos with almost nobody around.

I had an amazing experience at this park. The Gateway Arch view is awesome from that park. I would recommend go there in the evenings when the sun light gets to the Arch really well.

Celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary 12/10 with a walk through the Kiener Plaza Park display of lights, was very nice and quiet. It's a welcome to his hometown of St. Louis. We love the Summer vibe with the concerts, food and water fountains, but the Winter just may be our favorite time here!

We reserved an Igloo and had the best time with our friends, for my partners birthday. Two hours was the perfect amount of time. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the Caterers were great too. Charcuterie and a Dogtown pizza, glorious. Book yours today.

Went here during the winter and it was the place to bring your family if you wanted to enjoy winter activities. They had an ice rink opened. There was no issues with parking. If you were hungry, you could walk to a nearby restaurant. Beautiful park.

One of the best photo spot to take photos for Arch behind the old courthouse. It’s better to visit in the afternoon otherwise the sun will in your photo. A lot of street parking spaces, as long as it’s not close to the cardinal game time.

Very well kept. After a cards game we came to Kiener and watched the moon rise above the arch. Only down side is, there were people smoking skunk weed all around the park,and around kids. The new fad of electric “Bird” scooters.. kids,and adults were chasing each other with no regards to others or property. I saw one scooter that had 2 people on it; crash into a stroller, luckily there was no child in the stroller at the time.

I took my 3 kiddos to check out Kiener Plaza after its remodel and we loved it. The playground is fun for kids of all ages. Mine are 1, 4, and 7 and each had a blast. There is a separate area designed for younger children which I liked. As a parent, I also enjoyed the fact that there is only one way to enter the playground. Separate from the playground was a water area for the kids to play in. The water sprays from the ground and is a little more forceful than the spouts at City Garden. My 1 year old that does well at City Garden did not enjoy the water here. There are easily accessible water fountains and water bottle re-fill fountains. The space is clean and well maintained. We enjoyed walking around looking at the fountains. My only complaint was the lack of shaded areas to rest.

Smaller play area for kids. Wonderful place for them to burn off energy during a stroll downtown. Perfect views of the arch and surrounding architecture. Clean area and obviously well-maintained. Electric scooters are not permissible in the park area; they automatically turn off via sensor. Great safety feature since it is such a child and pedestrian populated space.

Must visit just to see the beautiful St Louis Center skyline with old Court House and Arch. Not too far from Chief Pontiac's gave. Feel the history Dred Scott, Scot Joplin, Doc Holiday and Big Nose Kat, Mark Twain, Eads and Carnegie and don't miss the Field's House all lived near here. Amazing place.

My kids love the small playground area & the water splashing from the ground. The weekends had a lot of teenagers riding scooters & hanging out. A few homeless people were down there as well. But a great police presence. Love the view of the Arch!

Great place to meet friends and take the kids to play. It formerly contained the Morton D May Amphitheater on the 7th Street side of Kiener Plaza. The amphitheater was removed in the area that now has a water play fountain.

The current version of Kiener Plaza is nice. It has plenty of room for people to walk about. It has some nice little secluded areas with nice vegetation. The fountain and statues are nice touch. There is even a kid’s section for the kiddos to play in. It allows for a great view of the arch and old courthouse. That all being said, I miss the old Keiner plaza immensely. The old one had a stage and a really cool water feature that I enjoyed.

Excellent place for pictures of the St Louis Arch. Has a nice fountain and walk ways. Small kid playground and a splash pad. Walking distance to the Arch and Butch Stadium home of the St Louis Cardinals. There are also a number of eatery's close in walking distance. Parking is free on Sundays otherwise it's a 2 hour long on the meters costing an hour for $1.50.

I enjoyed everything about Winterfest - it’s a must do in 2021! Shopping, s’mores, ice skating and hot chocolate was the absolute best!!! The only disappointment were the guys in the yellow vests/guides. One was absolutely rude and lied to my face when I asked him how I can get a s’mores kit. He said they were out. Went to the information booth and was able to get two. Other than this incident, I highly recommend attending.

I always have loved Kiener Plaza Park. They always host nice community events. It's also right around the corner from Ballpark Village, there you can find good food and drinks. The only thing I don't like about Kiener Plaza and traveling to downtown St. Louis is; since they've closed up the homeless shelter downtown oftentimes you will encounter a lot of homeless people hanging out, begging, and taking a bath in the fountains and pools. I think it is very sad that the city officials closed up the homeless shelter and left these individuals out to fin for themselves, however, they have spent millions of dollars remodeling downtown St. Louis. SMH!!! God help your people make wise decisions!!!!

Well maintained, pet friendly. Was not at all crowded when we visited mid week in August. No pets in museum. This is a national park and monument. Reasonable cost to ride small tram to top of arch. Very unique experience, highly recommended.

They've just redone the park and it looks great. I honestly haven't seen the old park but I hear it had an uneven terrain previously. The new one is flat with a nice tiny play area for kids complete with a swing and a slide. The water fountains are lit after dark and makes a good play area for kids of all ages! The park has a great view of the sunset on one side if you stop by in the evening and the Gateway Arch and the Old Courthouse at all other times.

What a delight! This lovely space is located right in the heart of downtown St. Louis. There are plenty of things to keep children entertained: splash pad, playground, wide open grass to play and in the winter we have ice skating! There are plenty of things for adults too. They are tables and chairs if you want to sit and enjoy your lunch, there are benches that line the entire park and the view of the old courthouse and the Arch is amazing here! If you live or work downtown I encourage you to just stop in and relax. If you are coming downtown for an event, stop by and enjoy a little of the peace and fun downtown has to offer. What used to be a divided mostly hobo town is now a united and welcoming St. Louis city treasure.

This area is amazing for so many things! Plenty of events happen here regularly and there are so many museums and amazing restuarants within walking distance from here. My favorite experience was doing yoga out here early in the morning. It started raining ever so gently on us as we entered savasana, absolutely magical!

This is a great place to take great pictures of the court house and the arch. There is a nice playground for the kids. The biggest draw back and why I am giving it 3 stars is the fact that there is no shade anywhere. Not sure how the designers off this plaza could not have put structures or trees in to create a shared area. Hard to enjoy the plaza when baking in the sun.

Years ago when I first came to St Louis I went to kiener Plaza and it was such a beautiful place giant waterfalls swimming pools now that the Reconstruction has finish is just one big open parking lot I thought that for the money they spent that there would be more of an attraction there but it's just one big open space good if you just want to sit around but there's really nothing else going on. The upside great ambiance and people around you

Great public space in downtown St. Louis. The area has been completely renovated and provides a good gathering place for numerous occasions. There is even a kids playground and typically plenty of scooters for rent at this site.

Love the new Kiener Plaza! There is plenty of seating and a nice area where you can sit and eat while people watching. There is a nice play area for kids as well as a splash pool. This has already become one of my go to places downtown when I was to get outside for a bit.

Beautiful. The play area is thoughtfully designed, and blends into the landscaping perfectly. My daughter has Downs syndrome and Complex needs and this was perfect for her. The arch in the background adds perfect photo opportunities also.

We had such a great time at the Ameren Light Festival!!! Everyone was friendly and the kids had a great time. Loved the STL police handing out ice cream. Wish there was a little more to do to keep little ones entertained, they ran out of stuff to see so we missed the fireworks in place of as meltdown

Great free activity for young kids. We stayed in the Hilton overlooking this park. My daughter LOVED the playground and splash park area. The park was clean and safe. Highlight of our trip was probably this free activity.

I have always loved Kiener Plaza in Downtown St. Louis. I went down their on New Year's Eve to enjoy their Family Winter Festival and we all had a ball. They had the ice skating rink open, but we didn't skate. I believe it was $12 per person and free if you brought your own skates. They had a food truck from Sugar Fire BBQ and of course the restaurants surrounding Kiener Plaza were open like Friday's and Caleco's. The playground was filled with kiddo's enjoying the equipment. There was music playing as well as 2 women who danced with fire. This was awesome to see. The big Christmas Tree was beautiful and many people used that as the background to their pics. I did as well. There were about 5 big plastic igloos in which you could reserve and rent that were heated. I'm unsure of the price and it wasn't listed on the sign, but directed you to a box office to inquire about pricing. I did notice that the people in the igloos had a waiter food and drink service from the food truck and surrounding restaurants. That looked cool. For the Winter Festival they ended the night with a bang with an awesome fireworks show. That was beautiful to see and an awesome way to bring in the New Year's for families. I did see several signs that stated this Winter Festival would be featured on a few more upcoming weekends. You will need to check out the other dates on their website or Facebook page. There was metered parking around Kiener Plaza and parking lots around as well. Keep in mind that parking is not free during the week downtown until after 7pm. I saw several people with tickets on their windshields as we headed back to the car. Kiener Plaza is wheelchair accessible with wide sidewalks for manual or automatic chairs to fit. This event was outside and it was cold so do bundle up. There were several heat lamps around, but there was no space to stand as they were crowded with people. I did notice many police officers around as we walked through. I didn't feel unsafe at all. So, if you attend this event or another at Kiener Plaza do go and enjoy. #Tonetta

My dog is obsessed with Keener Plaza. Living 6 blocks East it's not always part of my timeline everyday, but try to make it over there at least 3 times a week. There's a grassy area my dog loves to play and roll in the grass. Best part, on the way back home, you may run into a security guard near the city garden who loves your dog too. My dog stalks one of them for the dog treats. So glad the city fixed this plaza for all kinds of people in mind. It's surrounded by hotels, restaurants, and has a playground.... Even suitable for adults. I'm hoping they bring love music to play in the summer months like other big cities. Very scereine.

Great place to visit to relax. Good view of the Arch, which is why everyone goes to this park. The old courthouse is right across the street and a good spot to look at history after the park. Great place for pets and dogs as well

The biggest mistake was taking the the waterfall away from there! That was historic and epic!! All the year's and generations of newlyweds and prom couple's took their most epic time capturing pics. But it's ok for the money they wasted on reconstruction!!

Being a relative newby to St Louis (less than 3 years) I had never been here before. Came for Q in the Lou and was quite impressed! Closer to the Old Courthouse and the Arch than I thought..literally right across the street. Made for many great photo opps. Parking is plentiful in the many nearby garages. Nice enough small park near many downtown St Louis features. The site of Q on the Lou bbq festival. The festival itself was not well run, the food was small portions with big prices and a lot of the advertised features were non existent. The park itself is clean and well maintained and is not inhabitated after 10 pm.

It's a place you walk through to get from cheaper parking to Busch Stadium. They redid the park so the Naked Man Running statue runs through a colorful fountain which was pretty at night.

Canaan Plaza was just rebuilt at the end of the year in 2018 so it is so beautiful more beautiful than it was before and I think if you bring your families out you will enjoy yourself you'll love it there's lots to see in locks to do lots of beautiful hotels to stay at in the downtown St Louis area so yeah come visit Stay Awhile

The redone landscape of Kiener Plaza does have some good points. The new open space, trees for shade and playground for kids does have appeal. The benches make for a nice area for relaxing and having a small picnic. The loss of the sinking steps and fountain are unfortunate but this new plaza is a winner.
