My family booked a van with Basecamper Vans for a camping trip in Arches National Park. Our van (the Highlander) was super comfortable. I was worried the rooftop tent may not be comfortable for sleeping, but it was great. I actually slept better in there than I do in my own bed! We opted for some accessories, including the kitchen cook kit and shower bag. The shower bag was nice to have since our campsite did not offer showers, and the kitchen cook kit came with everything we needed to cook and eat during our trip. We went over our mileage in the rental, and I can happily say that we were comfortable in the van during every bit of our driving. If you are looking to rent a van, I highly recommend using Basecamper Vans!

Really great rental experience. I rented a van for a 2 week cycling and hiking trip in southern UT. Super easy to get to from the airport and owners were easy to work with for coordinating around my flights. Overall the flexibility of having a van and the amenities in the van were absolutely above expectations.

We rented Baby Blue for 9 days and toured mainly around SE Utah staying at both campgrounds and dispersed sites. The van worked out well - easy to drive and handled all roads well. Top features were the comfy mattress and fridge (post-hike cool drinks on a hot day!). The stove top worked as advertised and came with a 2-burner stove as well. We rented the cook kit which is fully kitted out for 4 people. The only downside was no curtains for the back windows, but only an occasional issue at developed campsites. The rental process was easy and we appreciated the communication beforehand! We would rent again if we do this again. Thanks!

Basecamper vans provided unparalleled service and quality on our 2 week adventure. Matt Wolski took care of each detail and offered additional items. The service was clear and there were no hidden fees. The van itself presented Matt's exceptional design and carpentry work (rivaling a CNC machine itself). I would recommend Basecamper vans for anyone looking to do some van campin' adventurin' !!

Glamping has never been this sweet! My son and I rented the Skyline Campervan from Mark in SLC. The process to rent it and get equipped was painless. This was a splurge for us as I don't think we needed a full kitchen set up but it made meal prep much easier. The van handled well on mountain passes and on the highway. I would only caution those who aren't used to driving a 19' van to have someone experienced in your group do the driving.
The van itself is truly a craftsman dream of a camper van. This is a totally custom renovation done by an experienced carpenter/contractor, Mark, who is one of the partners of the group. This is a super high tech vehicle wiht a solar-powered battery keeping all systems running when you need them. The attention to detail was apparent throughout. Cabinet storage featured secure closing hardware and everything was extremely efficient and well equipped. All we had to do was buy groceries once and we were set for four days as the van had all of the cooking supplies including all utensils, dishes, towels, etc. The interior woodwork was beautiful, the countertops were made of birch ply and finished nicely. There were fans and vents, dimmable lighting and receptacles for plugging in your phone either by USB or AC. The most impressive feature to me was the built-in cabinet cooler. Although the same size of a regular ice chest, this one is thermostat controlled and kept our perishables cool as a regular fridge. We didn't miss stocking up on ice as we would have with a regular cooler. Sink, propane cooktop, electric tea kettle all worked as expected although we mostly used the campground BBQ for making dinners.
The bed is cozy for two, perfect for a couple. I had my son sleep there and Mark provided me with a blow up mattress and bedding and I slept comfortably on the floor.
No matter where we parked, we were often met by curious travelers asking about this van who wanted to see the inside. It was worth the splurge and we would consider taking it "glamping" again anytime. We camped in the Big Cottonwood area of the Wasatch Mountains east of Salt Lake which featured many great hiking spots including ski resort trails, alpine lakes and waterfalls. We saw moose, cliff jumped and swam at Causey Reservoir and enjoyed urban adventures around Ogden and Park City as well, all within a few hours drive of SLC and keeping our mileage within our van contract.
For those considering a flight in to SLC and quick turnaround to get on the road with a campervan, this was a no-brainer for us. Mark's shop is 10 minutes from the airport via Uber. Expect 30m to an hour for a run through on systems with Mark as there are many features to learn. Did I mention the van even has an outdoor shower hookup? Drop off was also a breeze and was quicker than any big rental car outfit I've experienced.

Wayfarer Camper Van - Definitely recommend:
Great little camper with barely 2,000 miles on it. Equipped with top-end stuff: (Yeti) cooler, (Helinox) lawn chairs, etc. Everything is provided for a successful camping trip. Conversion was high grade as well, with quality materials and great craftsmanship. Matt was very helpful during the rental and return process.
Do not miss the Utah National Parks - they are awesome!

My sister and I rented Patti Wagon for our trip to Yellowstone and Tetons. It was perfect! Mark and Mike think of everything, from a Coleman double burner, Helinox chairs, and a Yeti cooler, to USB cables, string lights, and bear spray! All cutlery, dishes, cooking ware, cleaning supplies, 7gal water jug, even salt and pepper are included. The bed is comfortable, sheets clean and warm, and the pull out awning is a perfect touch. The pick up and drop off process is quick and easy!
The van gets incredible gas mileage and is small enough to fit into car parking spots and smaller campsites. Mark let me know about the engine light and it did go on and off sporadically. He had the van checked by a mechanic before we left Salt Lake City. I didn’t think anything of it and nothing came of it.
The communication is quick: Mike being flexible with our changing pick up dates and Mark answering right away when I realized I left my water-bottle in the van! He even offered to ship it back to NY for me!
My sister and I have been converted! We will continue to talk about our trip and this company to anyone who will listen and we will definitely be repeat customers!

Great fun van. We rented the black van for 2 weeks (SLC - Moab - Zion - SLC) for a MTB trip. It had a great bike rack & was a very cool van. Really fun trip & had all the gear needed. Matt is so chilled, and the van has that vibe too. It was great having a van with a little extra clearance for a few campsites.
