The annual Rhythm and Roots Festival is AWESOME at this park! Perfect location. The kids love the playground, we feel safe, and of course, FESTIVE, lots of dancing! Great bands on 3 stages, lots of food trucks/vendors. Three days of Great fun!

This weekend we attended the annual seafood festival. Fantastic! The best lobster roll I ever had! Many shops, kiddie rides, food venues. Something for everyone. The lake and beach is fantastic, playground, etc. Love this park!

Ninegret Park is a federally owned park. It has tennis courts a park and miles of grass and trees. Today was The Charleston Seafood Festival and it was great.There were many vendors with all the seafood you could imagine. There were also many desert trucks as well

My favorite disc golf course in RI! Despite what the general consensus of the locals is I believe this course is a great test of your abilities/conditioning. From October to April this course has an influx of players but as soon as the bugs come back everyone runs away. There are thorns and poison ivy to contend with as well but if you prepare yourself and play smart this course will test you. Plus it's free and mostly empty. If I have to choose between this and Curtis I choose Ninigret every time.

Plenty of activities to participate in here. I've done bicycle races and played disc golf here. Great place to just go for a walk and dogs are welcome!

Ninigret Park is a special place with lots of hiking trails for wildlife viewing, an observatory and plenty of green space. There are pretty little ponds and marshes. Every August do not miss the Seafood Festival. Its always the 1st weekend and the food and music are awesome.

Went to the rhythm and roots festival. Had a great time. Proof of vaccination or negative covid test required for admittance. The dance tent was so much fun. Camped out overnight.

Excellent place for children. There is small, safe leak beach, and nice playground for children of all ages. Ample parking, picnic tables, portable toilet and a lot of space to enjoy.

One of the best parks in the northeast!!! It's beautiful, incredible night skies, awesome during the day. Great trails for anyone and everyone. Exercise equipment, tennis, basketball, are all maintained very well. This place is a must visit!!

BEAUTIFUL place. Good hiking, good fishing, the bathroom we found was clean. Only recommendation is to WEAR BUG SPRAY! We were idiots and didn't put any on and we all got bit up.

My first time being here, and I went to the Charlestown seafood festival. I had a great time. They had every kind of seafood prepared every which way. Plus a bunch local jewelry artists, and many different vendors on display. And they also had a cool car show going on as well.

Clean, water was nice and refreshing. You do have to get there early as we got there at 10am when gates essentially had opened and it was packed. Food trucks there to serve food. A little pricey though. Shower and changing stalls available too.

The park is large and has a cool fenced in dog park. There is a spring feed fresh water pond with a beach. We played disc golf on the very well designed disc course which is our favorite course to play.

With as large as Ninigret park is and the diversity of things to do at the park such as hiking, tennis, swimming to bicycle tracks, star gazing, dog park and kayaking its great for all ages. The updated playground has age appropriate jungle gyms with climbing and slides and much more. Looking for a place to celebrate a birthday or just have a cook out, the pavilion is wonderfully shaded, including a few charcoal grills to cook and an abundance of picnic tables. Public bathrooms are located by the swimming hole and by the tennis courts. Ninigret has been a long time favorite spot and the history of the park is worth reading about ❤

My kids had a lot of fun...not to many rides though...food was terrible...when your in a long line you chose...you start to see you should of been in the other long line...i got the clam chowder and cakes...no clams at all in the clear...but you make up for it in the cakes...had a friend go to another long line to get me fish and chips...got Gorton fish sticks. Terrible...but....entertainment was very good

We love the parks natural beauty and wild life. Access to the salt pond for kyacking and fishing are easy to get to with plenty of parking available.The grounds are very well taken care of and kept clean. It is a great place to bike or just take a walk on the paths.

I love this park. First found it going to Frosty Drew Observatory. It was the most amazing experience and still is. My favorite go to, to see the stars. And then I discovered the hidden swim area/pond. Not to mention the beautiful hiking trails. And the dog park is extremely clean and one of the best around. I would say its one of my favorite parks in Rhode Island

Beautiful day at Ninigret, we caught the end of a soccer game on one of the pitches on the west side of the park. Great to see live sports again even if from a distance. The wildlife section of Ninigret does not allow dogs for obvious reasons.

Have loved this park since I was a kid. We used to bike and skate the old runway. Brings back memories being here! They've made it into an amazing park with an awesome bike path and many trails. Fun for all ages!

I absolutely love this park! It has a lot to offer, and is absolutely beautiful, is kept impeccably clean, and if you look into it there are things to do! The dog park is one of the best dog parks I've ever seen! There are even restrooms throughout the entire park including the dog park! I can't tell you how many times I've had to leave a dog park because I had to go to the bathroom! There are walking trails there are biking trails, an observatory a senior center oh, and it seems that they have things events in such in the summertime! I wished I lived closer!

Loved the bike path here. It's about a mile long but makes a circle so you're never too far from where you parked. Great place for my family to visit with little ones who enjoyed the playground while the older kids rode bikes. Would definitely return when we are back in the area.

The volunteer workers are trying to get the town to help out with the course, as things are starting to get expensive nowadays. Still a fun course. Woods and open areas. Highly recommended.

A GREAT place to bring your kids for a fun day! This place has an awesome playground for kids to play on, and conveniently placed picnic tables for the adults to supervise from. The pond is also always a fun spot to take your kids! It's not far from the playground, it has a gradual increase of depth of the water, is usually teeming with sunfish that kids can catch with a net, and is a great place to teach your kids to swim! I took the two kids I looked after for year to this park all the time - every nice weather day we got during the summer when school was out. They had a blast and I really enjoyed it too!

Can't really complain about the park. The grounds are kept in superb condition, the kids playground is newly remodeled, and there are basketball courts and a baseball court as well as a dog park and running areas. The pond is nice as well with the more shallow area ropes off via buoys. Keep in mind that there are no lifeguards on duty in the later hours of the day. There are several grills set up under the pavilion if you wanted to bring burgers and dogs.

Amazing place!!! Great for any sort of outdoor activity you may be interested in. Good place to have a picninc, go for a bike ride, run, swim, kayak, paddle board and so on. Has a beautiful dog park and observatory, as well as a terrific playground and fresh and salt water swimming areas. Plenty of gorgeous walking trails and such to walk on.

Quiet area to go for a walk or run. Very accessible with many large parking lots around the park. Between the bike path, criterion, disc golf trails, and the many fields there are plenty of pedestrian-friendly paths. Connects to adjacent Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge which offers great pond and marsh views as well as 4-5 miles of easy grass and gravel trails.

This is an awesome park/refuge for one or a family or a group of friends! They did a great job of repurposing an old Naval air field and left some historical markers to explain its history. They have a nice walking trail, dog park, bike track, disc golf, soccer fields and tennis courts. Just a wonderful place to spend a day and we are looking forward to returning when the weather warms

Great place to go for nature lovers. There is a playground for kids. A pond to swim in, a dog park, a walking/bike path area going around the park and plenty of fields to play frisbee, baseball, soccer etc. There are a lot of events they hold here also like Rock and Ragae Revival, the seafood fest.

This place is great, even in the winter!! Dog parks are large and not often crowded. There are all kinds of fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, swimming area (pond), large walking and rec areas, and even an observatory. There is a senior center and a frisbee golf course. And especially during the summer, there are all kinds of events held there! Great place for a family outing, playing spirts, or just a quiet walk around the park!!

Very nice park on the seashore. Ninigret was an old Navy airfield, transformed into a park and wildlife refuge. it has plenty of hiking trails, a planetarium, senior center, diverse plantlife, and a lot of history. Enjoy the views, walk around, or go kayaking on Ninigret Pond. There is an exciting music festival here on Labor Day weekend, called Rhythm and Roots.

An oddball of a park. I think there used to be an airfield there. The trails get 5 stars for the view and the music festivals are fabulous, another 5 stars. The 4 stars is because when I went their with my child years ago, the beach was zero stars--full of cigarette butts. I haven't been to the beach lately so I hope that's changed! There's also a great playground. Plenty of parking. Go for the Rhythm and Roots Festival if you can!

Traditionally the last big northeast music festival of the summer. Can't be beat. Doesn't matter if you attend 1 day or all 3.. Every day has top shelf entertainment. Great vendors. Plenty of porta pottys. Crafts. Nice views. Huge parking lot. Easy drive. You're missing out on a life experience if you don't go. It's held Labor day weekend every year. Rhythm and Roots Festival. I guarantee you'll discover some unbelievable great act you've never heard of and see some favorites as well. Surprise yourself.

Ninigret Park, together with the adjoining National Wildlife Refuge, is one of the jewels of Charlestown. Miles of walking and biking paths, a beautiful playground for the kiddies, tennis courts, soccer fields, a Pavillion for picnics, separate dog parks for both small and large dogs, the Frosty Drew nature center, a small pond for swimming, and, of course, access to Ninigret Pond through the wildlife preserve. During non-pandemic times, Ninigret Park hosts a number of great events like the Charlestown Seafood Festival and the Rythem & Roots music festival. Like I said, one of the jewels of my town and I couldn't be more proud that the local government had the foresight to purchase this land from the federal government and turn it into what it is today!

One of my favorite places to bring my dog. There is a bike/walking path, a dog park, and a pond. There is also an area for cookouts, a playground, disk golf and an observatory. This place is amazing and peaceful.

I usually only come here for the observatory. It's awesome and the staff are so into it and are so knowledgeable the experience is always fun. Even if the observatory is closed come down with a blanket and fall asleep viewing the milky way and shooting stars.

Its a big open place, they have walking paths you can hike, also they have,play ground a pond you can fish from,soccer fields,basketball courts, kids friendly place you also have pinic there. Big park...lots of trees...a rocky area for dogs to play King of the Mountain. Picnic benches inside the enclosure where u can rest while ur dog plays. Beautiful setting. As with all dog parks, u have to be wary of the the alpha dog and his/her owner that allows aggressive behavior towards other dogs and doesn't "get" that their dog's behaviour is not acceptable.

Tons and tons to do. I go here most for frisbee golf. I would ask that they trim the fairway more, especially in the summer with so many ticks. Other than that it's a great course to play on!

Ninigret park has so much to offer, in Covid and non Covid times. Covid- plenty of space especially if you are interested in open fields and open paved spaces (a portion of ninigret is an old airfield) . There is a short bike and a 1 mile circuit bike track. ( google it lol) . Perfect fields for frisbee, kite flying and corn hole. Post covid - Great playground - basketball court - small fresh water beach - place to put in kayaks and small boats Clean and seriously NOT CROWDED!!

Ninigret State Park is a beautiful place in Charlestown Rhode Island sitting on a Salt Pond with a beautiful view toward East Beach there is a boat ramp to launch small boats and kayaks and a nice trail system. Formally this site was the Charlestown Naval Air Station which was used to train fighter-bombers that were going to be stationed on an aircraft carrier former President George Bush Senior was trained here before going overseas.
