Reviews of South Park Blocks
Park blocks have the most AMAZING rose gardens I took THEASE this last summer a way to capture the beauty in life when we are surrounded by so much negativity! Enjoy!
Absuluty!! AMAZING ROSES!! MY FAVORITE PLACE TO PHOTOGRAPH ¡!every week( in summer they have a group that volunteers, great peoplei encourage anybody who enjoys gardening, flowers, to volunteer, for a hour,, all day one day or all summer?!¡
Awesome location, peaceful and green, I love spending my time here, the farmer market is amazing too.
Love the Saturday farmers market here! You can find all the local produce, food here, and live music too!
Would definitely return.
It was a pretty neat spot to see after making out to the Hillsdale farmers market on a Sunday, while waiting for my wife to come back from the montavilla farmers market picking up chickens from red bird Acres... But the the nature was ever y where crazy
A nice nature setting smack in the city surrounded by good food. Great area for walking around.
Rain or shine My dog and i go here at least 5 days a week
Love it
Absolutely LOVE The PSU Farmer's market on Saturdays & Sundays.
It was much lovlier before the statues were vandalized and removed. When there is a breeze on a summer day the Park Blocks act like a wind tunnel and one can feel that it is at least a few degrees cooler. We must make certain that the trees are properly maintained.
Green loop!!! Awesome. A undred years old trees. Full of flowers and sculptures
Beautiful time of year to take a stroll. Walking the blocks in the rain was diminished with the beauty of the trees, the fresh air and warmth of colors. It was amazing to capture the change of fall with all the variety of trees.
Great place to stroll and relax.
There was plenty of food and drinks to go around and the people were very engaging and kind
Now more real — less mythic(ally) hero worshipy yet still could do better informing us about the whitewashed history of this stolen/conquered territory/land.
It's a park. It's downtown. And yes, it dose smell like pee. But a least nobody ask if I wanted drugs.
Wed farmees market downtown Portland ,is very pleasant to shop the market, shaded by trees .
Lovely ribbon of nature in the middle of Portland State University and urban center. Clean and safe
I walk around here almost every day. Lovely place to sit and enjoy the trees in the heart of the city, with lots of good coffee and donut places nearby :)
Love this litre stretching park great to walk through with crosswalks between roads
Ok so this is a very long and very beautiful Park, a good place to relax and unwind if You live nd work within the area or even just a few blocks away! Usually there are a lot of friendly people here in this Park, people walking They're dog, even a few cute white Park Ranger babes from time to time too!
Is part of the inner cities workings, and therefor is polluted by garbage, medical waste and crasies. As so, being here means you have to have a higher level of awareness just to keep yourself safe. That being said, there is benches and shade if you are traveling through and need to rest or live nearby and need fresh air.
Beautiful huge trees and even wildlife (besides squirrels). I saw a large hawk and a large owl. Plus the beautiful rose garden is something to see.
Every Saturday is Farmer's Market
It is a quiet place during the week. People sitting on benches and relaxing. I enjoy feeding the squirrels nuts and raisins. The crows and pigond get popcorn and crackers.
Pleasant enough park , a few statues, nice at night, can get somewhat crowded during the daytime, lots of homeless and others who might make a visit somewhat uncomfortable .
Overall , I haven't had a problem but others I know have.
Enjoy the peacefulness of the park but keep your eyes open and your wits about you.
Very dog friendly and family friendly. Often there is a man there who blows monster bubbles for the children AND the adults equally. He shares his bubble recipe if you ask him. Always a peaceful and fun place to enjoy the cool breeze and shade and visit with people who wander past.
The park blocks are good for a stroll no matter the season or time of day. There is always something to see, hear or do. The trees and gardens are motivation enough most days though. Nice to be able to walk through the middle of the city, at least for a number of blocks, without needing to worry much about vehicles. You may need to keep an eye open for segways though.
Visiting our son and daughter-in-law in Portland. They brought us to the Farmer's Market. What a fabulous market! There's everything! Besides shopping all the booths, beautiful setting at the Portland State University. Lots of shade and lawn and benches to sit on to rest awhile, eat, visit, or whatever. Wonderful entertainment as well. What a great two hours on a summer Saturday morning!
This green-space is really good for the area, and provides an excellent place for people to meet and relax. The amount of people I see smoking and vaping here is completely ridiculous. It's supposed to be a "clean air space!" There are signs everywhere! Otherwise very nice.
Cabbage, carrots, Eucalyptus, spicy greens and tomatoes from the psu farmers market❤yes🥰 …
Good place to cool down on hot days.
Very scenic tree-lined blocks.
Quite a few joggers and 1 or 2 reading on park benches. Really nice photo-opps specially when leaves turn to fall colors, which it hadn't fully during our visit.
Was informed it was a nicer part of the city but, still had a lot of homeless people in and around the area.
Suggest visiting before dark.
I first visited South Park Blocks in 1965 attending a conference. I enjoyed the proximity to cultural centers and Portland State (College). Now when I return as a Portland resident, I am grateful that the area has been preserved and not developed. Loud gatherings are often a distraction, but remind me that we are a diverse, welcoming city.
Friend and I went for a walk out here in the Park Blocks and it was an interesting location there is wildlife and Forest structures all around the perimeter of the park and children playing it's a nice part of Portland it's quiet and it's clean and an excellent place to get your mind together and take a walk during the day or during the evening.
Park hours are from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. at night
The South Park Blocks are a such a diverse green belt. Situated right in the middle of Downtown SW Portland they are used regularly by College Students, Professionals, Concert Goers, the city's homeless and countless other visitors. During the Summer months one will find an amazing Farmer's Market and on evenings and weekends the concert and museum crowds are fun to walk amongst. It is unique space that is a total of .6 miles long. When I am downtown and hoping to work of dinner/lunch/drinks I walk it in both directions for a brisk 1+ mile walk. When added to walk along the waterfront one can actually do quite a few miles downtown and see/experience some really great sights/sounds.
They need to put soap in the bathrooms and make it feel like your a human being when you use the bathroom and not a criminal who is going to steal toilet paper. The park itself seems alright. It has a field, dog area and play area for the kids.
Farmers market in SW Park Blocks rocks it's a great place for a afternoon outing. Beautiful fall day all kinds of food carts and vendors abound with veggies and cheeses and flowers wonderful time. Salvador Tamale was the bomb.
Always litter left in the park an majority of people won't pick up after their dogs after using the park as a place to go potty.
Other than that , it is an amazing place to sit down an enjoy Downtown Portland and the wonderful view of the outdoors! ☺️
The PSU Saturday farmers market is my favorite in the metro area. I rarely go to the Vancouver market anymore, which is local to me,. So many wonderful Farms set up each week at PSU. There is always something new and delicious to try.
Very effervescent and the foliage really is full of color. I'm from Ketchikan AK, Southeast Alaska a rain forest the park reminds me of home 🤟😃 …
I prefer these to the north park blocks. They just have more character, you know you have the art museum and psu as opposed to the post office and bud clark. The latter most being awarded most police activity Oregon and probably the North West as Seattle is more diverse and spread out in it's iniquity.
These blocks form a cool, shaded corridor which is fun to walk even in the summer heat. On certain days of the week, these blocks are used to host a dynamic and delightful farmers' market.
When you are looking for a peaceful and scenery stroll in the middle of the city, or viewing historic buildings or better yet, enjoying the best Saturday Farmers market, this is where you want to go!!! Enjoy it every time, it only gets better and better 😊 …
It's an urban park. We use it's convenient location to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall for easy street-side parking.
Beautiful little park to relax at, or to get photos. Good place for a stroll, or to do some photoshoots. In the middle of campus, college aged kids are a common sight.
Falafel sandwich was delicious. Falafel themselves were cooked very well, with an excellent crunch on the outside with a moist center. I also really liked their tzatziki sauce. A good portion for seven bucks. Only complain was the vlasik style pickle in the sandwich that really didn't belong. Definitely try this place if you're at the PSU farmers market
It's a beautiful park with plenty of flowers to look at. I don't go to this park often so it was nice to have a change.
Linear multi-block urban park shaded by tall trees in downtown Portland. Lawn areas and seating, but no ballfields. A great place to sit and eat food from nearby food carts!
Always interesting people to watch. Two blocks from PSU campus. All kinds of places to eat. Two blocks to the Portland Art museum. Saturday and weekday markets. So much so close.
Farmers market was wonderful! Great breakfast burrito, healthy vegetable and herb plants and the most beautiful bouquets ever!
Unlike the North Park Blocks, this one is fed by a more youthful/transient vibe in terms of street folk, it has more plazas and gardens and statues, lots of PSU students and not near thd roar of Burnside.
The south west side of park blocks is great. The NW side park blocks are ridden with junkies, drunks, pill sellers, and heroine. Shame on the Portland patrols that were assigned to walk through the park blocks are never around and the police don't patrol the parks anymore.
LOVE IT. IT'S BEAUTIFUL 😍😘 …
A good choice for pokemon go community day as it has a lot orf pokestops all in a row that you can walk so the way down and back over and over so rack up them shiny pokemon!
Best burritos outside New Mexico 🤗🌶 …
I , like many, want to see this little slice of the city left alone. Any politician who supports changing this area, does so at the risk of ruining their future. PROMISE.
Farmer's Market with umbrella, mask, foggy glasses and awesome veggies, fruits, and other beautiful foods. Oregon at its best.
Lovely leafy spot but one needs to be aware of scooters on the sidewalks and random craziness at times.
A park in between two one way streets. Has a lot of small business and homeless people. Nice place to hangout. Goes from PSU, to Chinatown.
Friendly environment be great place to do you art activity or just here to chill or ECT highly recommend this Park it's calm and (stoner friendly for 21+ ) but remember not to smoke in public
Nice to walk through downttown. Avoids loud trucks, unidentifiable body bags with posibille human remains and poodle droppings.
Beautiful people and beautiful food (on sat). Much better than winco on 82nd. You get offered smiles not meth.
Enjoyed going to the Wed farmers market.
Saturday Farmer's Market 9am-2pm. All year round! Beautiful and tasty!
Very cool urban park in the heart of the city. Great gathering place and they have a farmer's market here too.
Farmer's market is fab! Beautiful fall weather, on downtown park streets. So great
It's nice with big trees. A little green space on the city. To many homeless, at least they have a nice place.
Was here in front of the Portland Art Museum for a car show, #rosecityextrauto this is always a wonderful venue.
Nice clean park
Great place to chill and people watch along with some freak viewing....a few squirrels and some dogs walking their owners.
Portland Farmer's Market. Year round. Always great produce. A weekly must for our family.
It's a beautiful little oasis in the city. The Portland Farmer's Market on Saturdays is amazing!!
my favorite place to relax.
Nice walk with beautiful greenery along the way!! A couple of eateries & coffee shops in the area too!
Great place to kick back and relax....... Conversely you can always score dope done there too.... Errrrbody welcome
Great Wednesday farmers market! Until.1 pm.
Beautiful park, average park outhouse. Some parts might be sketchy. Men sometimes hang out by the bathroom.
I've loved those park for the years I've traversed through. It doesn't matter what season it is, it's always beautiful.
This is Portland. Right next to PSU, this park is a warm and welcome place with a bunch of history. Definitely recommend this park.
Portland State University Farmer's Market was fabulous as usual with fantastic food & music.
Such a beautiful place. This should be the premier address for living in the city. Too bad it's a little seedy.
Busy, would have been 5 stars but I had to subtract one because there was too many people and I couldn't get to the produce stand.
An amazing downtown park. Home if Portland Farmers Market and ringed by PSU, a museum, food, and theaters.
Love going to the PSU market good food, great produce and friendly people a must go place to shop
A great greenbelt with interesting statuary. Some sections can become rowdy during the warmer months.
Ah, the aroma of cannabis in the air, the transient sleeping on the park bench! The sights! The smells! City living.
NW Perl district borders Old Town. Well naintain by the city.
One of the most beautiful places to walk through on your lunch break and to sit on one of the many benches.
It's a beautiful walk to take in the spring and summer on sunny days.
Quiet and kicked back a lot of elderly people that will share their stories with you.
It's my neighborhood park and I appreciate it every time I visit.
Fun time for playing pokemon go
Just be careful after dark
One of the best places in to spend Portland to spend some time in Spring and summer, especially for PSU students
Portland's largest outdoor toilet is a wonderful place for the whole family to live
PSU Saturday market is a must. Great vendors and great food, music and people
The Farmers market in the Park Blocks on the PSU campus was amazing!!! I highly recommend it!
Went to the farmers market here and got some great spicy noodles.
Fun activities with street music and Farmers market booths selling regional fresh produce.
Really nice place, but sometimes kind of scary -- especially at night.
Nice place to stop and have lunch in a park. Roses are a nice subtle touch
The most beautiful place in Portland visited by many is actually the area I live in. Feeling blessed.
A lot of smokers and campers, but mostly they kept to themselves and it was easy to get around
Very great to find a green belt like this long! PSU campus is such an interesting looking
One of the best places in Portland. I am biased though...
Nice place unless you run into tweakers.
Walking from pioneer square up to Portland State University take the detour up a block and enjoy this jewel area in downtown Portland.
Great location for the farmers market. Beautiful produce.
Convenient to my home, and fresh food is always welcome.
How wonderful are the park blocks so lucky to have them in Portland and Ladd towers wow
Great place to relax, but being overrun by aggressive homeless people who constantly harass you.
A farmers market with Portland funk and on the tranquil grounds of a University campus. Who could ask for more?
Our favorite Portland farmers market. Large selection from many vendors.
Wonderful place to walk and enjoy the wonderful weather this afternoon
One of the best places in to spend Portland to spend some time in Spring and summer.
I nice cozy place to enjoy nature while being trapped in the city.
We love coming here for sat farmers market
A lovely park! Great place to study or meet new people
One of the better walks in this wonderful city!
It's cold now. But when summer is here, it's great place to hang out and meet people
Last time I walked through, it looked like the litter patrol had not been through in quite a while.
Very green, nice walk to farmer's market
Nice little park but sometimes draws a sketchy crowd.
South Park blocks are fun to skate.
Grab a book and some coffee. Best place to relax!!
I stopped to feed homeless people who were in the area. I go here nightly
The Saturday farmers market never disappoints!
Went fitting the Farmers Market. So fabulous!
Peaceful and quiet I always seem to relax.
I love walking up and down and people watching.
Great area to walk a furry friend.
This park is just a great way to take
Love it here
Awesome, a main vein to the city for anyone not in a car.
Every Saturday Farmer's Market. Year-round. What's not to love?
Not too bad today compared to other days.
