What a wonderful playground. We love coming here when the weather is nice on Saturdays as they have a Farmers Market. The lake with the geese is so calming and just an enjoyable view. The only thing that could be disturbing is the homeless people who hang out not so far away and you would see them as you drive by.

Epic park! We saw the playground on our way into Portland so we decided to check it out. It is a little bit confusing to get in, but there is a lot of parking. The playground is very cool. It has 3 zip lines and one of them is a seat with a restraint. It has a really tall rope climbing structure, which was very fun. There is also an accessible playground structure with slides, but it also has great climbing features that we don’t see often. There are swings and an embankment slide. Interestingly, there is also a rock garden sort of thing. We went further into the park and saw a giant pine cone made out of shovels! From there we went to the splash pad/wading pool. It was not open yet and I’m not sure if it is opening in a few weeks. There is also a bridge next to it. There is also a decorative pond with a miniature house in the center. There were bathrooms, but the only ones we saw were port-a-potties that were not in great condition. Overall it’s a really nice park and has a lot to offer. I would definitely go again!

Very easy to find not much parking. Plenty of things to do dog friendly there is softball fields basketball courts beach volleyball football field tennis courts playgrounds a little restaurant called queens castle ice-skating in the winter plenty of things to do nice huge park right off Interstate 295 Please follow me Be careful of drug use I found plenty of left over needles from drug users the park should be cleaned up and supervised better

Stopped here on the to kill an hour with our ten YO before the Sea dogs game. Nice park, everything in working order. Great zip lines with button seats. Nice climbing rope structure. She really enjoyed the park area.

Sunshine. Tall trees. Wide open space and cool sculptures -- a pine cone made of shovels. A great place to go for some fresh air.

On the other side of this bridge in the center of the park, there’s totally a little splash and play water area for youngins.. or maybe an adult who needs a quick splash. It’s a really beautiful park. I chose the location for my landscape out of anywhere else in Portland. Don’t worry, the pond goddess only comes out at nightX 🤣💚🙏 p.s. beware of the goose poopies by the fountain area edges.

I previously didn’t support monarchies but the way this country is going, I’ll really take any other option. Especially if the ruling class is going to provide this much natural beauty in a small to medium sized metropolitan area (this is a castle in a public park)

It's alright, unfortunately this beautiful park has become overrun with a plethora of needles. Still a breathing beautiful park though. I was forced to do team building and related activities here. That's not the parks fault though. But what was the parks fault is that the fountains have been dry for quite some time now. Mixed feelings but i like it

A lovely old park hemmed in by a highway and cut in two by an arterial. Cars are the freaking worst, but this park is still pretty nice. Farmers market Saturdays and seasonal splashing for kiddos and skating.

It depends on where you go and when. The farmer's market is brilliant, the kiddie pool is a good spot for kids on hot days. You may get a visit from some Canadian geese, who will gladly eat peas if you have any (please no bread, it befouls the pond).

A nice green space in Portland. Has a lot of promise to it and, perhaps, needs a little more attention. The park has a nice path and pond. It is, however, fairly littered across its paths. Certain parts of the park have a significant homeless population. While I wouldn't frequent this park after dark, in my trip to Portland, it was a nice place to sit in the morning with a coffee and donut and watch people walk their dogs.

This park has wide open spaces, sunshine, trees, trails, a kids park, recreational courts for adults, and a is a great place to enjoy nature. I'm a fan on the water features and small bridges. Portland does a great job at maintaining this public space and I love the weekend markets.

Nice park with walking paths, a water feature, and interesting art pieces scattered about. Got there just after the farmer's market packed up, but Salvage BBQ is a short walk away, and we picked up some Holy Donuts and coffee on our way back to enjoy on a park bench.

I couldn't ask for a nicer view in Portland to live then across from the park. It is GORGEOUS when the pond is full in the summer months and also has a beautiful fountain in it that lights up multi colors at night in the summer as well! The only thing to worry about here, although so far since September i haven't had any major incidents, you should always be aware of your surroundings to avoid the unfortunate amount of homeless population that hang out throughout the park but more closer to the post office side then headed towards St. John's street. Expect to be asked for cigarettes and/or funds and beware of discarded hypodermic needles in the area also but enjoy the scene when it's peaceful and quiet very early in the morning is the best time to visit, in my opinion but please visit and tell us about it also!

I have always loved the park, especially in fall when leaves dwindle on trees but multiply on the ground. I just wish there were more trash cans and that they were emptied regularly rather than being left to overflow. Great job having safe needle disposal sites throughout the park, though, because it definitely keeps the majority of them OFF the ground and away from dangerous situations.

Lots to do: good place to run the kids, play tennis, enjoy the Farmers Markey seasonally, walk the dog and swing, jump or climb. City does a great job with our own little Central Park.

We've been going to the park before we even moved to Portland and it's always been great. Unfortunately we always have had to keep our eyes open for "sharps". The last few months have been worse because of the homeless being forced into the area. For the most part its been pretty clean aside from the goose poo and occasional debris. Everyone was respectful and had masks on. We all tried to talk to the kids about distancing but they're kids. My children LOVE it! Best suggestion, do a once over for anything dangerous, sanitize hands till you get to a sink and avoid porta-potty at all costs.

Deering oaks is a beautiful park. It's unfortunate that it has been overrun with homeless people. Trash is being left, along with drug paraphinilia. There are still some parts of the park that are safe for family activities
