Reviews of Usery Mountain Regional Park
Isa Gutierrez (EatWithEesa)
This regional park is absolutely breathtaking. There are many options here with hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and more.
The people working the checkin station and at the Visitors Center are always friendly and extremely helpful when we visit.
The hikes are all on well maintained trails and their are usually rangers around to help answer questions on directions or landscape. The Wind Cave Trail is a must.
The facilities are well kept and there are plenty of picnic spots throughout the park.
Happy to be annual members after visiting 3 days in one week.
This is also the perfect place to get engagement and maternity photos done.
Alesha Hansen
I absolutely loved this park! It was gorgeous! There are trails everywhere for biking and hiking. The desert ecosystem is mesmerizing and this sits at the base of beautiful mountains. There are several covered picnic areas and playground equipment for the kids. The best part of the day was being able to view the fantastic sunset. I included some pictures, but it hardly does justice to the beauty of seeing it in person. Enjoy!

Great place to stay for a few days. The spots are clean and neat. Bbq and picnic table at each spot. Great views and great park. We walked around and hiked some trails. The pond was really neat to check out, and so was the info center. They have a few snakes and great info. The park is big and has great areas to hike and have picnics all over. Very close to the salt river as well! We will be coming back in the future.
Zofia Sells
Beautiful desert landscape! As a photographer I love this area to shoot for golden hour with the smaller mountains providing some shade from the sun.
One thing we did notice is the playgrounds that are shown on Maps are no longer there.. instead just a small swing at one playground and a few desert theme structures to climb on.. not a typical playground.
John Payne
Great park in northeast Mesa for hiking, trail biking, and camping. A beautiful slice of the Sonoran desert with a lot of diverse flora and fauna to see. There are trails for all difficulty levels, Wind Cave being one of the most popular. I recommend the trail that goes all the way around the mountain; I believe it is called Pass Mountain trail. Great place to visit, hike, bike if you are in the area.
Steven Page
We were staying in Mesa for a couple of months and wanted to do some hiking. Thus park is very close so decided to do the wind cave trail..
You have to pay a fee to enter the park but if you go a lot you can purchase an annual pass.
The park is well maintained and you have great views so great place to visit.
There are a lot of trails from easy to moderate so take your pick.
Rebecca Kinder
Great place to explore and hike! We hiked the Windy Cave trail in the middle of the day, which was a bit hot, but the view from Windy Cave was well worth the climb and the heat! You can also spy the Phoenix arrow across the way.
Matt Kearns
absolutely beautiful. You can hike or horseback ride through this beautiful part of Arizona.
There are not enough words to describe the beauty out in the desert. This is a part of Arizona that you become part of nature
Jason Kelley
Great, well maintained trails. Always clean and no litter that I've ever seen. I don't know if it's the park staff maintaining it, the trail users respecting their natural resources or a combination of both. Watch for chollas on the trail after storms as a tire can kick them into your legs. All the facilities that I used were clean and well maintained. Annual passes are very reasonable and if you are a disabled veteran they are available at a steeply discounted rate.
John Crankshaw
Awesome campground. Great park for hiking and biking. Lots of mtb trails and access to miles and miles of surface streets with bike lanes. Most speed limits 45 in the area so riding is pleasant. Toilet/showers basic but loads of hot water in showers and at sinks. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Tania Sigfusson
Lovely desert views and trails waiting to be experienced. Views of the Superstions. Enjoy twinkling stars and distant city lights during the evening. Camping sites available with RV hookups.
Sandra Rodriguez
I always have a nice experience, all the host are friendly and the people that work the entrance are also friendly and helpful. They keep the campground very clean ans the bathrooms 🚻 are also kept very clean and nice. I always feel safe there. …
Jackie Mcarthy
We rented Ramada C1-C2 & D1-D2 ( both time blocks 9-6)for a celebration of Life for our daughter. This gave us the entire parking lot , 16 concrete tables with benches, the bathroom facilities, water fountain and the entire shaded children's play area. This was perfect for our event and would be and excellent location for a gathering of 80+ people. The mountain backdrop and beautiful desert flora was amazing.
Anita Alkire
We camped at the Buckhorn Campground and it was lovely. Beautiful desert while it's not too hot. Good size spaces with fire grill. Very clean restrooms with shower. We'll be back
Traveling Skeltons
This park was absolutely gorgeous, great spacing between sites, wonderful hiking trails, but boy if you have a dog afraid of gunshots it makes for a super stressful visit. They start at 7:01 am and go practically nonstop until 8 or 9 pm (some nights later) 7 days a week. We had to have the music or TV loud all day to try to cover it up and force her to go at least pee every night around 11. If you don't have a fraidy dog or even someone who would have problems with those triggers then this is a wonderful park.
Matt Martin
We rented a group campsite for $45. The reservation includes bathrooms showers a Ramada electricity outlets 6 tables and a fire pit. Kids had a great time. We visited the nature center and hiked in the morning.
David Partridge
Stayed at the Usery Mountain Regional Park for the T@bazona Rally - with lots of teardrop trailers. Had a site with hookups, it was in January so heat in the trailer was nice at night.
Did the Wind Cave tour at the park. That was a nice hike with good views all around. The restrooms were clean, they had showers, and town was close by if you wanted to go in for meals or entertainment.
The staff were great and helped out if needed. We camped three nights and loved the campground,
Suzanne Holston
We walked the South Cat Peak/Spillway trail.... we really enjoyed this lovely walk,
beautiful views of the Superstitions!
The desert is getting ready to bloom,
it will be stunning in a few weeks!
Steve Clark
Excellent shooting range, especially the sporting Clay's course. Really good layout with targets for all skill levels. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Ammo, gun cart & golf cart rentals as really good prices.
Nicholas McLaughlin
Beyond gorgeous - one of my favorite places to hike in PHX area. The entrance fee is well worth it. It seems like everyone who comes here only hikes the Wind Cave trail, which is great for strenuous exercise. However, the Mountain Pass trail northbound and southbound from Wind Cave trailhead offers spectacularly beautiful scenery through typical Sonoran Desert flora. I saw a lot of wildlife: rabbits, lizards, all types of birds, etc.
Carl Swartzentruber
We stopped here for lunch at the park pavilions. Such a lovely spot! There's natural beauty in every direction. The shade of the pavilions makes a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Frank Fazzalari
This is one of our favorite regional parks. Usery is so vast and has all skills level trails, from simple to difficult. It has many pavilions with tables to picnic, washrooms and even an outdoor exercise area. Love the Wind Cave trail.
LO
I love all of the different trail options this place provides. So much beautiful scenery, especially the sunset views!
Kate Pritchard
Nice park close to Mesa & Apache Junction AZ. Park is cleaned, well maintained. Trails,a nature center. W&E hook ups, dump station available. Decent wash houses.
Damon De Frates
Love the trails and opportunities for many different outdoor activities. In my opinion, the most beautiful park in the Maricopa County system.
michael “Mikey” Dixon
Fantastic getaway a beautiful easy drive right of the 60 east Ellsworth exit left heading north 10 mile drive threw this thick desert forest to salt river and saguro lake
Dave Hager
Great hike, lots of people, easy to moderate and fairly short. Just a great little hike that's about an hour unless you're taking pictures.
Josh J
Amazing park. Wind cave is the most popular and is great, but Pass Mountain is my favorite. It is about 8 miles of beautiful terrain. Pack a bar or a sandwich and enjoy!
Eric Tanner
Very nice shooting range. Our to 300 yards, professional staff, and safe. They have sleds and spotting scopes for rent. Clean restrooms.
Jon Chatelain
Hiked Pass Mountain for the 1st time starting at Wind Cave and headed CCW. Rocky for much of the south side then a steady climb on the east. The north side and west I think are the easiest but overall this is a moderate hike. It's around 8 miles. Bring plenty of water and start out early to beat the sun. I didn't notice much wildlife today and the trail was fairly empty on a Tuesday morning.
charlotte curtis
This is a great area for hiking or a picnic. There's a short trail less than a mile around a knoll. It takes off from the parking and picnic area at the covered workout stations. The workout equipment is easily adjusted to any strength level. We like to use it after the little hike.
If you're more adventurous take the wind cave trail up the mountain. I think its a 3 mile hike up but check before you go. We've only gone one mile on this path. Take plenty of water.
There's a nice little gift shop when you enter the park. Stop there before your hike as it closes at 2 in the summer (until Nov 1) then 4pm after that.
We haven't checked out the campgrounds.
ccleezard “ccleezard”
We really loved this park, shout out to Andrea who helped us enjoy our stay. Prior client decided to leave his car in the shaded spot of our new camp site, she accommodated us and came up with a site when the campground was totally full up site. Wonderful biking and hiking trails with sites of the superstition mountains. Love it here? Thank you so much, Andrea and Renee (front) gate.
John Ferrence
Beautiful and Lush desert area with well-maintained trails. Never know who you may run into...
Tom Rosen
Please add this hiking/biking trail to your list of MUST DO bucket-list items when in the Mesa area.
Rebecca Wilson
Absolutely breathtaking at sunset! Gorgeous mountain views and wildlife all around. Bring your hiking shoes and extra poop bags for your pup - none on the trail and lots of pricklys to step on! Propose here! Picture perfect 💖 …
kara young
Check out the outdoor weights when you try the bike trails here. Scenery is spectacular. One idea for riders is to tread easy on the trails after rains or even consider a day of drying out. Regardless, Usery is worth your drive and will test your skills with the sandy, rocky trails. Wildlife includes coyotes, rattlers, javelinas, and mule deer. (One friendly request to County Park Management is to possibly shield, or dim, their night time lights. )
Garett Cline
Awesome archery range! Well worth the $9.00 ($7.00 for access to the park, $2.00 for archery range). The trails are well maintained, and the facilities are clean as a whistle. There are a wide variety of targets and distances for you to test your skills with.
Becca 10C
My first time hiking in Arizona. A beautiful park lovely hike. I look forward to doing it again.
Thevs staff..that part was difficult. 4 people behind the counter. The lead had only worked there 2 weeks. HE was very personable. And there were 3 trainees. All standing around behind the counter. It took quit awhile to just find out where the restrooms are. It doesn't seem the trainees understand that they're serving the public. Or are supposed to be. Four people..and finally the seasoned employee came out of her office so I nabbed her to ask where they were.

Found this place by searching on google maps for green nature areas as it never came up in my to do’s searches of the Phoenix area. We are always looking for great places for nature walks when we travel and this should absolutely be in to do lists. It’s clean easy to get to and it’s also not far from lost Dutchman state park so someone could do both in one day. We did the 1 mile merkle loop trail and it as perfect for the age of our kids. The cactus are so close to the trail and the views spectacular.
***LA*** Ham***
Lovely park to hike. We meet some really nice and friendly folks along the way. The hike isn't extreme but I definitely wouldn't have expected small children to be at the top near the wind caves. Beautiful views and scenery. Cactuses 🌵 everywhere not much wildlife while we were there but we did see a chipmunk or 3 three. Also, the public seemed to be confused about the existence of an upper cave that no one could find but everyone remembered being there...🤔
S H
Beautiful everywhere you look! Love this park. We did the Merkle Trail then continued on up to Vista Trail. Beautiful at the top. Will be coming back here to hike more often.
Denise Soto
Beautiful the trail we did was great and easy not to crowded weather was perfect
Collin Smith
Gorgeous trails, great sites. In nature and yet so close to the city. There was trash around in bushes which wasn’t great. But generally clean. And the bathroom within easy walk of our site had closed showers. So not great.
jose r.
This one here became Definitely one of my new personal favorite trails.
It recorded 7.5 miles in my GPS, and it took us under 3 hrs. This trail has very great views so plan on being a bit longer if you stop to enjoy the scenery. A bit rocky in one part of the trail but we are 100% coming back.
Daniela Emerick
We loved the early morning hike and saw wildlife and lots of beautiful vegetation. The sunrise was spectacular. Daughter and I got there about 5 am, watched the sun come up with silver lined clouds. Done by 8:30 and feeling happy.
There is not a lot of signage, so be aware of your visual markers and where you started from in the small parking lot. Keep eyes on your path to spot beautiful lizards and more. This is rattlesnake country, so be alert. They don't like us and will scurry unless we surprise them.
This would be even better to do when the day isn't calling for 109 degrees, but well worth it, if you like to pay attention to the nature of this beautiful place.
Kari Brennan
My happy place. As soon as I leave the Sky Harbor, all I can think about is hiking at Usery.
I love this park and it's easy and accessible for all skill levels; on any given day you'll see toddlers to grandparents making their way up this beloved path, although there are some trail runners as well. Lots of dogs, too.
Make sure you get to the wind tunnel -- the view across the valley is amazing, especially if you get there at sunset (although the hike down is tricky in the dark).
The visitor center is worth a stop and I regret that I've never taken any of the classes (they offer interesting guided classes to kids and adults).
Vanessa Troupe
We often hike the Wind Cave trail as it is a favorite! It starts out with a smoother trail and works it's way into a steeper incline going up.
Make sure to have good shoes with as some is loose gravel and other times it's bigger boulders. I wouldn't say this is hard (not like camelback or piestewa peak) but it isn't an easy one. Moderate-hard I would say.
Nice, cool temperature cave at the top. Bees are seasonal but don't usually bother anyone, that we have seen.
Travis Sternhagen
Absolutely beautiful!!! We had a blast hiking the trail here and the sights will take your breath away. I noticed many children on the path which was surprising but if they did it you could too! Seemed very family friendly and dog friendly.
Carolyn C Valdez
Great non-elevation hike at Usery Mountain Park. Started at the trailhead at the Nature Center. Chollas abound on the trail and I even had a cholla needle stuck in my butt! Ha! This mixed use trail is great for hiking, trail running, or mountain biking and you can see Pass Mountain and Flat Iron on the distance.
Nicholas Abruzzese
I love this place! They have a fantastic archery course. Not to mention a ton of hiking and went live. You can bring your RV or your time. It’s also close to the salt River so if you want to hit the river one day it’s about five minutes away.
Hardcore Hunting
Great place to shoot and sight in your rifles. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome.
Ashley Fleming
Usery Mountain Regional Park is absolutely stunning. The trails are easy to access, have spectacular views, and are well maintained. I photographed an engagement session here in February and we had perfect weather to work with. I will definitely be coming back to this amazing park!
Aaron Shiley
Hiked wind cave. Great little hike and views! I personally loved the extra bit past the cave up to the top and the view from up there! I wouldn't take the kids on the upper part.
Paula Mogavero
Close to home. Beautiful setting. Plenty of hiking trails.
Troy Squillaci
This place is great. The entry fee is totally worth it. There are loads of hiking trails with beautiful desert scenery everywhere. Such a variety of plants to see, best to visit during the cooler months. Practically all of the hikes are easy. There's certainly something here for anyone with an interest in the outdoors. Good proximity to the city too.
Brigham Goeringer
We did the Wind cave hike. Overall the hike wasn't hard but it is pretty rocky in some places so you have to be a little sure footed as you climb. I love the cactus landscape.
Leo Pusateri
Beautiful trails amid views of the Superstitions.
Donovan Latherow
Tons of great trails throughout the Tonto National Forest! Camping is affordable, and the staff is super friendly. Being so close to Phoenix, the amount wildlife is amazing, and the views from the mountains is stunning. Any paths up Pass Mountain are the best, and well worth the $7.
Stuart Waite
With the temps warming up this early, you are sure to meet some of the critters🦎🐍🌵🌞, be cautious as to where you place your feet and hands. Great place to hike, bike and ride horses. …
Sally Suarez
Really gorgeous Saguaro forest. I'd say intermediate level hike/bike trails, which extend in several directions.
Looking forward to working it into the rotation. We enjoyed how few other people we came across; it's pretty much as desolate as you make it, just watch out for sneks! 🐍🐍🐍
Sunny Vakkalanka
Camping site review:
Pretty standard camping site, but make sure to put stakes in your tents because the winds are super strong. TRUST ME you will want to stake the tents down (I speak from personal experience).
Rick Olson
Cool and nice out here. Had some rain but Sunny now
Mary Biancalana
Usery mountain is a wonderful Regional Park. It is actually a Hidden Gem of this portion of the East Valley. Mesa is very lucky to have such an easily accessible and easy-to-use park to enjoy the natural resources of the Sonoran Desert. The trails are very well marked and navigating within the park is very easy by car or RV. Their Campground is very organized. The ranger station and Educational Center is very nice.
Sonya Contreras
Big spaces, very well maintained and clean. Many restroom facilities and many hiking trails. So peaceful. Would comeback again! Make your reservations early.
Relentless Dreams Brand
Nice hike, but made more for the average mountian biker. The trail heads are an excellent way to escape all the nonsense oit here in the world, but most of all the view, the air, the freshness while off in the trail is amazement. This trail is great for pets as well which some of the other trails Ive been to it would be tough to bring your pet on. #UseryparkGoals

This is a great multi-use outdoor rec area. Our family mountain bikes and the trails here are perfect for teaching the littles when they first start riding trails. Very family friendly. We also have group meetups here where we grill, ride and have fun. Staff is friendly and helpful. We will be back!
Mike Komorouski
When you get to wind cave go past the sign that says "travel at your own peril past this point". You won't regret it!!! Be careful out there.
Check out the alltrails app.
Maegan Valadez
We hiked the wind cave trail at sunset. It was BEAUTIFUL. There is a $7 entrance fee, but it was totally worth the hike and the views. There are good bathrooms at the trailhead. Just don't forget your water. Its a steeper, more challenging hike so bring a walking stick, if you need one. One of our favorite hikes in the valley.
Alexa Killian
This is a wonderful place to hike, have a picnic or take a scenic walk. My family comes here at least once a week!
Superstition Nomad
A great park that is not too far away from the city.
Entry price is per vehicle and is used to maintain the parks.
The trails are very well maintained and there are very detailed maps with distances to help keep you oriented.
Good places for equestrians and mountain bikes, everyone is very friendly.
When the rains hit the flora and fauna can certainly explode with lots of colors and wildlife.
Watch for snakes and leave them alone if you see them, they will eventually leave and be on their way.
Jay Plummer
Wind Cave is a great hike.
The mountain bike trails here are fun and beginner friendly.
Dom Pardi
Absolutely fabulous running, hiking, mountain and gravel biking trails. It's second to none. And the scenery, is fantastic as well!
Josh Fowler
Great place for a run in the desert, wind cave trail always has people the rest of the trails are less crowded
Roy Fellows
Great trails, tickets are a good saving and can be used at other Maricopa Parks even years later.
Anthony Wehner
Had so much fun here. Brought my family and also my friends two different times. Had a blast. Climbing up the mountain or even taking some of the ground trails. It's taken care of nicely and it's not hard to find. I recommend this if you like to be outside and active.
Charlie Jones
Great place to go camping at in AZ in the cooler months. Great hikes beautiful sunsets/ sunrises. Look up the events they have going at the nature center. My kids were able to see snakes, a hawk, and a falcon right up close.
Barbara Seltzer
Great hike on well maintained trails. Steady up with switchbacks. Trecking poles helpful. Incredible views from the wind cave. Did not go to the top.
Kody Russell
Beautiful hike, lots of options for different abilities and pretty views.
Beverly Taylor
Excellent trails and day use park. I haven't camped here, but from the quality and condition of the rest of the facilities and the popularity of the campsites, I assume they're very nice. Clean restroom facilities off the trailheads. Well kept parking areas. Surprisingly clean trails for a multi-use system that allows horses. Minimal rutting from dirt bikes as well. Excellent trail condition (terrain allowing, of course) and obvious dedication to trail maintenance throughout the park by both the park and its patrons.
Tons of great trails, many in a layout that allows for variety and mileage after multiple visits. Outdoor resistance training/gym facility is a small but impressive little gem tucked into the park. I was delighted to find such equipment existed. I've spent a bit of time in everything from national parks to city nature preserves in several states, and this outdoor gym is one of the most impressive park amenities I've encountered. Only 2 drawbacks: The awning over it seems like it's little more than a nice gesture at the hottest part of the year, (as is the case with nearly all things outdoor and in southern Arizona), and a lack of back equipment in the offering (I use a tie off bar near the trail staging area for a modified lat pull-up).
Another rare delight: a park with ample parking. The Merkle Trailhead and Staging area is big enough to accommodate quite a few vehicles including horse trailers. Parking on the Windcave trailhead is kinda tight sometimes, but everyone seems to make room with parallel parking around the mini loop. If you have your heart set on a true parking spot at the Windcave trailhead, I recommend off peak hours, but other than that I've never had an issue finding parking.
jace larsen
Wish I could get out here more often. Nice archery facility with walking course for 3d targets and non 3d targets. Some of the 3d targets were getting pretty beat up last time I was out and could use some maintenance but overall a fun place
Christopher Williams
Great sunset views of Mesa from the Wind Cave or Pass Mountain trails. The longest trail, Pass Mountain, takes you around the back side of the park with beautiful mountain scenery (about 7 miles). Wasn't busy on a Friday afternoon.
$7 day pass
JR Lagasca
My son and I ride these trails almost everyday 8 miles worth and bring my daughter and my girlfriend on weekend with us. It's a easy to moderate trail for bikes. Busy on the weekend but everyone is courteous as it should be.
Diane C
We took the moonlight hike with Ranger B and his volunteers, last night. Very clear skies and light breeze made this a beautiful 90 minute evening hike! We really enjoy Ranger B's sense of humor and deep passion for nature in his park. He is a wealth of information and I highly recommend attending his events. It was a family friendly, easy walking hike with restrooms at the parking site.
Chris Wilkins
Great experience with amazing staff. They sell ammo as well as PPE if you need it at a low cost. Nice clean shooting range.
Don Clark
Hiking the wind cave, a very popular hike as you can tell by the growing numbers of hikers. Everyone has been nice and a lot of good friendly people. It didn't get five stars because the Pina colada machine was out at the top of the hike.😮 …
Emma-kate McCord
This was really neat. I enjoyed all the different 🌵 that we saw. We would enjoy coming here again sometime. There are different trails to go on for different activities, bike riding, waking, horses (bring your own horse). …
PJ Sopala
Very clean and informative. First time I did clay pigeon shooting with my new shotgun. Amazing experience. The Rangers at the other gun range were awesome. There is a video to watch before you can go on the range if it's your first time there. That was good too. Definitely going back!
Jova A. Barris
To start, I regularly hike here, as this destination features serene views, a clean yet environmental atmosphere without litter. Hence, I highly recommend Usery Mountain Regional Park!
Nataly Lorin
Beautiful place to watch the sunset.
A still impressive and beautiful nature.
Roger Blain
Usery is a really pretty park and is a great place to take out-of-town guests. You can get a nice taste of the Sonoran desert on even short hikes, or hike up about 700 feet and enjoy the view from the Wind Cave. Also, the monthly full moon hikes and many ranger led programs are pretty cool.
Chuck Mayper
Nice location urban yet up against the national forest: went there to complete a segment of the Maricopa trail. Good trails for biking- not too technical and ok for a front-country experience. The place can get crowded. Wildlife and the occasional snake can be run accross.
Lori Hollis
First time to Usery Regional Park. I throughly enjoyed the hiking trails. Utilized the trailhead from the campground. Spectacular views. Campground was under construction, I can appreciate a well maintained park. The pull-through spots were on the smaller side and laid out differently than I’ve seen before.
Will W
Other than the fact that the targets paid for by patrons are missing or shredded on half the target-bales all over the range, and that the bales are often not made dense enough or are worn out, causing arrows to pass thru the bale and hit the steel post in the back, or pass thru rotted rubber not changed in countless years, its a decent range layout.
The location and physical range is awesome. There are just HUGE management issues that ruin the experience (not sure if its lack of funding or mismanagement).
For years now this range has been unable to replace missing targets and worn out bales on LARGE numbers of targets. Often the same rotting or missing targets set there for many weeks with no effort to replace them by staff on site almost every day (and volunteer staff Living There, I assume for free in trade for their "work").
Also, the main range stadium lights, down range, shine in the eyes of the shooters on the firing line. Which is absurd. A small effort to point the Adjustable light housing to point only away from the firing line would solve this.
All these issues have been brought to the attention of the park manager Many times. Yet no changes are made to remedy these constant issues that ruin the experience.
Archers lose expensive arrows due to faulty rotten bales and disintegrating rubber back mats.
* Once these problems are FINALLY addressed, this archery range will be amazing.
For now, bring your own targets, and expect to lose arrows in the rotten bales.
Richard Robinson
Nice place to hike, bike and take pictures. $7 for a day parking pass. Souvenirs and nice lady from Boston in the Nature Center. Take lots of water!
Joshua Bello
This is one of the most beautiful places in the Phoenix area. The sites don’t have sewer but the first couple have awnings for great shade.
Joe Proctor
Well kept and the rangers are always helpful and friendly.
Edward Cullen
This is a beautiful park nicely maintained lots of trails of verying lengths and difficulty. Nice camp grounds and picnic areas. We got a season pass which allows you access to a number of regional parks.
Check it out.
Alma Halsey
I love this place very moderate hike and it's beautiful when you reach to the top. The view of the whole east valley is perfect❤
Madison Kelley
Such a wonderful and beautiful place to visit! There’s so many different hikes here to experience! There are some beautiful places to watch the sunset and sunrise here too. The levels of trails range from easy to hard so it’s perfect for everyone! Also back in the mountains there are lakes that are super fun to visit! Also there is a lot of wildlife and sometimes you can spot horses or deer! But beware there are skunks!

Beautiful scenery, great location, convenient amenities. I would camp there again.
Nitpick: It would have been nice if one of the hand dryers wasn't pointed into the wastebasket (seems like a great way to aerosolize germs).
John Parker
We enjoyed ourselves tremendously. My wife and I use to live here and we came back for vacation and to spend time with friends and family.
Janet H.
Nice visitor center, bathrooms at trailheads, well maintained trails. Favorite is the Pass Mountain Trail. I find this trail moderate to difficult due to the length and the east side elevation change. Counterclockwise is my preferred direction for this trail.
Phillip Lopez
Awesome place to practice shooting. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. I took my 2 sons there for their first time and they absolutely love it. Thank you to the staff and surrounding shooters for your knowledge.
Ken Luiten
Excellent hiking and scenery in the East Valley. Playgrounds and campgrounds as well.
CErik Jones
Been walking here daily for month or 2, great location less than 10 min from my house. Nice place to walk around, weekends are busy and a popular place for bikers. The levee trail is a good but i reccomend Cats peak trail more
David Lee
Beautiful park. Very cool walking/hiking trails. Clean modern facilities. Plenty O parking. Park employees in info booth very polite and knowledgeable. Looking forward to coming back. Being from MN. The desert is mysterious and picturesque.
Nancy Jacobe
My friend and I wanted to go on a short hike. We decided on Merkle Trail in Usery Mountain Regional Park. It's rated easy and is only about a mile long. We started on it, but it seemed a little too easy. We decided near the halfway point, that we would take the .6 mile Vista Trail that they rate as moderate. I don't know who rated this, but I feel it's much closer to hard than it is moderate. I rarely have to use my rescue inhaler on a moderate trail... I had to take four inhalations before reaching the top of this trail. It was beautiful, but I wouldn't have attempted it if I had realized the difficulty.
LittleMiss Candice
Picnic areas C,D are great. Restrooms available, lights, fire pit, trash and recycle cans, large concrete area between ramadas for dancing etc.
Tara Wenzel
7$ to get in for each vehicle, but its lovely and the trails are awesome! Bring lots of water! Pictures from the wind cave!
Carlie Brosemann
I love this trail. It's a pretty easy hike. Restrooms at the bottom. Dog friendly. I come like once a week during the cooler months.
Freeway Flippers
What a BEAUTIFUL park. The views can't be beat. Also - the people who run the park are VERY nice. They don't micromanage your every move like at a lot of parks. Restrooms are always clean, spacious sites, and the location is perfect!
4Trons- Home
Great as always. Good hike, atmosphere this time of year was perfect. Did a group camp, space a/b. Look forward to next year!
Bella Lopez
Nice place for a bike ride or walk. If you take your pups make sure you have some shoes on them. There is a lot of stickers all over the place from jumping cactus.
Colette Thompson
Lovely area to walk, hike or ride a bike. Wind Cave provides a spectacular view to enjoy. Great reward after you reach the top. Cats peak is a flatter hike. Merkle is an easy, flat walk and you can pop into Vista Trail to enjoy views of the valley. Cute play area for kids and clean bathrooms. We purchase the annual pass each year.
BT Trierweiler
Easy, scenic trails for all hikers. Wheelchair users can roll on the Lost Sheep Trail with only minimal assistance. Thanks to REI for funding.
Cindy Quenneville
Lots of 🌵 that my dogs didn't enjoy, but the trails were nice. I would go again but leave the dogs behind. …
Kyle Kreuter
Really enjoy spending time hiking at Usery. Nice selection of trails and very well maintained.
Sherrie W
Nice. Lots of trails to choose from. Very clean. There was a nice little covered area with workout equipment.
Chris Kastner
Some of the best sections of Maricopa Trail easily accessible, can link with the road or not, get into the Hawes Ridge system, rides for all levels. Great hikes and campground, only negative is the constant gunfire from the gun range across the road.
Sonda Hilario
Oh my goodness this place is amazing. I'm ashamed to say that I didn't know this was even in Arizona. My friend took me for a hike there. Beautiful day with many other walkers, photographers and bikers on our same trail. They have several trails from beginning to advance to choose from. I wish the staff at the entry were more familiar with the trails and locations so as to guide us in the right direction according to our preference that day. It almost seemed like she was new because she wasn't very helpful. However my friend had been there previously and she found the most helpful staff member.
Mark Emmons
Nothing better than a park in full desert bloom...come late Msrch early April. Great trails for all capabilities.
suanne raman
Really a great park, you can hike walk for hours, varied terrain, flat to scraggy incline slopes..informative education boards spaced along the way...
Ted Kowalczyk
Quiet relaxing place to camp. Great campsites, trails and scenery.
Jordan Lynch
Breathe taking views and great place to stretch your legs.
cgriggsiv
Awesome small trails very easy for most people but then again there's me I take the trails less traveled
Darice Henry
Beautiful sunset hitting Pass Mountain while camping. This park is relatively quiet and comfortable while still being close to town. The shooting range across the road though was not very good at certain times, it spooked my dog who doesn't like the sound of gunshot.
Christina Mendez
One of my favorite places to spend time. There was a while I was here 3-4 times a week. I love that they have outdoor workout equipment. If you get here super early you can beat the crowds for the wind cave trail, too.
Lynn Roosevelt
We went to Usery park to get family pictures taken, they do also have a play place,.and a place to hike.
Allen Heinecke
Great place for easy hiking and BBQs, or even diet biking. They also have the gun range close by
Rob Bartlett
The Pass Mountain Trail is a sweet 7.5 mile loop that provides great views and a solid workout. Wind Cave is another fairly tough trail (depending upon how quickly you follow it). There are several other trails for hikers of varying levels of ambition to tackle. Worth a visit.
Mary Littiebrant
This county park has good campsites with water and electric in the midst of the desert land. The plant life was abundant and there were many birds and wildlife around.
Usury Mountain is a challenging hike but well worth it. The bathrooms are clean with warm showers.
Phoenix is just a short drive for anything you need or want to do. It is quiet even though the city is nearby.
Candice Talbot
Beautiful park lots of privacy and huge sites. Clean and friendly.
Benee Braden
Quiet campground, nice showers, lots of stars, spaces are reasonably spaced apart. This was in November so summer months might be different.
Rick Kucken
I have hiked here many time's with my family, I absolutely love it there! The ranger station / store offers cool gifts, great information, maps of trails in park, snacks and drinks. The park is clean and generally busy. The trails range from easy to just under medium. Has many great area's to picnic, camp, hike, bathrooms, and bubblers for water. I love the outdoors and always have, unfortunately I am now disabled and can't do even a small fraction of what I once could, I'd love to have been here 25 years ago! This park is disabled friendly! I highly recommend this place to everyone!
Andrew Hartman
Pass Mountain hiking is superb! The views are amazing.
Rich D
Lovely part of the state which is easily accessible. Easy to moderate hikes with great views.
Susan Clark
Very clean, beautiful campground. Nicely spaced groomed sites. Great views and clean bathrooms...loved it!! I will return soon : )
Site 44
Charlie W
Didn't use the campground, but there's much more to do in the area . Officially dog friendly, but questionable for large dogs.
L D
Great staff. Very safe/amazing Safety Officers. Very professional and helpful. Has steel plates @ 300yds on the main range. Great sporting clays as well.
Aristides Ioannides
One of the best regional parks I've visited. The hicking is amazing and the camp sites are excellent. Less than an hour from Phoenix.
Ben Korhonen
The trail around Usery Mountain offers spectacular desert views. The elevation changes are moderate and the hike is technically not too challenging.
Cassandra Balmes
I absolutely love their archery target set up and 3D course. Fantastic park!
Ryan B
This is a wonderful park if you want to go for a great hike or use the bow range or even do some camping.
Jenny Pav
Great place to hike with lots of trails. The area is dog friendly. Beautiful views of the desert.
Lynn Nielsen
Beautiful park. Great hiking and biking trails.
Daniel Davis (Steam Crow)
Usery Mountain park is a great place to camp. The group camps are particularly nice, with ramadas, fire pits and electricity. They are HUGE. Overall, a great place to camp.
RMIN Badiee
I been going to the archery range at this park and its fantastic. If you are into archery you should try this place
E Behrman
Great place to shoot your firearms. The safety is very good and they will correct you if you are doing something wrong. Guns and safety are very important and they are very good at making sure everyone is safe.
Amber Vallejos
Love this area for hiking amd enjoying the outdoors. Many options for fun and even learning activities.
Craig Mathews
Enjoy the environment and trails are nicely marked, nice visitor center with helpful staff.
dave mackler
Special park for outdoor lovers. The density of multiple varieties of cactus makes mountain biking and hiking the trails unique as you move through the park. The 7 mile PASS Mountain hike over a variety of terrain is for stronger hikers and provides for ever changing views. RV folk appreciate the spacious campsites.
Inge Patton
Lots of trails, from very easy to difficult. Great for hikers and mountain biking.
cassidy paxson
Amazing range area and park. Well kept and easy to navigate. Plenty of parking and open areas.
Lisa bernardez
Nice campground close to city, full hookups minus sewer, dump site in campground
Lots of hiking even an outdoor exercise area down the road
Archery range and shooting range a mile away
Big campsites
Good for dogs, we use the dry river bed for playing ball less cactus
Kris Grover
I love Usery Park. Great place for running, hiking, and riding. Great place for a breakfast or lunch cookout. Beautiful desert scenery. The facilities are typically in good shape and the volunteer staff are no nonsense but friendly.
Noel Getting
Beautiful hiking. Clean facilities. Camping, hiking, biking, archery, great views, dog friendly, friendly staff! Best in the winter, or fall, not a ton of shade. Good parking. Easily accessible. Fee to enter.
Uli Hauck
One of our most be loved Regional Park. All spots and the restroom are well maintained and you can not get pretty much a bad spot. Friendly camp host. The only thing what the county should consider, the shooting range is very close and grow over the last year's.
Kelly Montgomery
Wind Cave trail is fun and scenic. Enough elevation change to be challenging.
David Estrada
Super cool place to go open areas highly suggest riding out at least once
Tony Leftwich
We sliced the bike trails like a stack of veal cutlets. Recent rains have rendered the trails packed and playful. It's a great place to bike and hike.
Breanne Reith
Great trails! Beautiful scenery. Good views of the city.
Greg
Awesome campsites with access to many trails. Beautiful place.
Michael Jenks
Lots of awesome trails for every ability.
Have been travelling to Phoenix from Alaska every winter since 2006. Before kids, my wife and I would rent mountain bikes and have a blast.
With the kid, we just go out and hike with the stroller. The kid runs around, but plops into the strolled when he's done.
Most trails are stroller friendly.
Great selection of stuff from the gift shop at the gate!
Dovid Yoffe
It was my first time skeet shooting it was awesome
Ciara V
This is a beautiful place to hike. Plenty of family friendly hikes as well, you will find hikes at every level of experience. It cost $7 to get in, but I bought a booklet since I go there often and you get five tickets for $25. Easy to follow paths and beautiful desert views.
Dallin Willden
Great place for some shorter hiking/biking trails and awesome scenery for some photography.
David Schwartz
Beside the gorgeous environment it's located within its prices are reasonable, the roads are well paved, and public restrooms are nearby.
AZ Adventures Mike Wilson
Always a great experience.
GraceRGV
Wonderful! We loved the flora. My mom is wheelchair bound and they had a great trail that was accessible. Will return.
Drunk Sheldon Cooper
A trail filled park with amazing views everywhere and options for camping. You would think just the options above are enough to warrant 5 stars but that is where it just begins because each trail is well maintained, there are trails for every ability and accessibility. The bathrooms are also some of the cleanest I've come across for a park and there are also benches and gazebos to have a lunch or a picnic. $7 bucks per car for the day the best money you will spend on recreational.
Tamara179
Amazing views of the valley and no trails are too difficult for any moderate or beginner hikers.
Rama Rabi
I love this park and the workers at the booth are so friendly. There are many trails to go on, but my favorite is always to hike up the mountain and watch Arizona’s amazing sunsets.
Nancy K
Great campsite. Lots of space between sites. Lots of easy trails.
lanna sprague
Beautiful area nice areas to hike. You may see deer or other big critters you dont see often in this area.
Kris Smith
The park itself if gorgeous. But the people are loud after "quiet time". That ruins it for me.
J. six
Good hike to the wind cave.. which isn't really a cave... But it's a workout.. for sure..!! 1.6 miles to the cave..
Jason M (The Happy Campers)
We stayed within the campground for 2 weeks and went hiking on many of the trails. The Wind Cave trail was our favorite. We were not pleased with one of the camp hosts hired for this season, as they allowed their kids to utilize an ATV to zoom through the park and around blind corners at speeds much higher than posted limits. DirecTV (free standing satellite) had no issue getting a signal. Verizon phones were able to maintain a 4g signal. Campground and roads are big rig friendly. Campsite fire-pit was still full of old burned out firewood. Campsite was level. Campground included playground for kids. Bathrooms were clean. Campsite included a concrete picnic table. Park is close to freeway access and close to major cities within the eastern Phoenix area.

Entering from Crimson Trailhead - Usery Mountain you will find a leisure easy hike. Occasional Mountain Bikers and even a horse might cross your path. Whenever I need to get the kids away from electronics I drive to this trail head entrance and walk one of the large circular paths.
Janice Santa
Beautiful time of year. Cool weather, clear skies and amazing desert views. Lots of places to hike or bike.
Steve Thompson
This park like others are doing poor jobs removing dead debris which looks like rodent nest. Park would be much nicer if the bushes and trees were trimmed back from the roads and sites. On the positive side it has less traffic driving through.
Troy Garris
I live in Wisconsin and visited the shooting range while on vacation over Easter. It was a very safe environment, with RSO's up and down the firing line. Great variety of target distances, and the steel plates at 200 and 300 yards were a big bonus.
Demian Cayenne
Such a beautiful park and close to town. Nice and spread out RV spots.
David Thralls
Its a shooting range. A nice, safe place to go shoot your guns.
Moto Chan
Make sure you check out the hike to Wind tunnel cave, it's not an actual cave, like the cave in Raiders Of The Lost Ark opening scene but kinda cool anyway
Bryn Perry
Very quiet park with great views. Tons of cactus around. 10 minutes to salt river floating and wild horses
Chris R
Our favorite campground in America. Absolutely the best. It’s amazing to sit outside and watch the desert come alive.
Sherri Carpenter
Hiked Merkle trail today with my 5yo and my dog. Easy trail and safe. Usery Mountain is always so clean and fun!
Michael Macmanus
V rad regional park with solid hikes and sweeping views of Mesa. We saw a boat load of bees at the top of Windy Cave, but that's not on the park so no stars removed. It's like my grandma always said; bees will be bees.
Jamie Hines
Beautiful location with well maintained trails for hiking, running, mountain biking and more.
Chrissy's Closet Reviews Ms. Sunshine
Beautiful sceanry!
Kristi Torsak (Kristi Cowlishaw)
Gorgeous hike up to Wind Cave!
Aidan
Great riding spot for mountain bikes and a great desitination for road biking as well. If you ride in from Ellsworth road to the 4 way stop them ride back south on Ellsworth it's about 1600 feet of climbing.
Amy #JoyBuilders Rydecki
Beautiful day for a walk on Moon Rock Trail! We have never seen the desert so green and lush!
Jonathan Krause
First time going and I'm glad we did. The blevin trail was perfect for first-timers.
Marching HitMan
Clean place, can see a lot of the lights in town at night.
Evan Ivaldi
The facilities are clean, the folks running it are nice, and there's plenty of wide open trails to explore - it's very flat so just make sure you know you're going for a walk, not really a hike.
All that being said, I really enjoy the place! It's easy to find isolated spots to soak in the calm, peaceful surroundings and just breathe - away from all the bustle of the city/suburbs.
Dog friendly but just watch for little cactus patches and "pods". They're pretty much all over the place - we had to extract one from our dog's paw. She was NOT a happy camper, but got over it - and learned a lesson about hiking in the desert!
Claudeen Buettner
Best of the Maricopa parks!
Good hiking
Great birding
Good biking
Spacious lots
Close to shopping in Mesa
Gwen Guthrie
Camped at Group site A. Usually the campfire and BBQ ashes have been removed but not on this occasion. Only presented a problem because we were doing a big BBQ and had to clean it out before we could put our charcoal in. Bathrooms and showers well kept. Perfect tent camping for this time of year when still too cold at higher elevations. Plus you can run an extension cord to the ramada for a small electric fan heater if it gets a little too cold or you haven't brought someone to snuggle with.
Renee “NayNay” Brooks
One of the best hiking trails. Would definitely visit this place again. Also loved that it had other activities you could do there as well.
Rhett Turner
The Nature Center is a really nice facility to the park. Got to see them feed the snakes. Great hike up to Wind Cave.
Dennis Beckmann Jr
I went to Rio Salado Sportsman Club. The Rangers there are very professional, helpful and friendly.
Elizabeth Fitzgerald
The trails are safe, for hikers, bicyclist, pet leashed please. Due to no rain wildlife is lower, looker for food. Coyotes are plentiful in this area. Sunsets are sensational.
Robert Beaupre
Great weather for a little hike beautiful out there
Mike Nelson
The weather in late Nov was fabulous. Beautiful vistas and sunsets too.
Helaman Gile
It was amazing had a fun hike with my grandparents my grandpa turned 81 and was able to go half way it's not hard but it's a little dangerous on some trails and cactus love to jump on you so make sure you watch where you're walking 😂
But I really highly recommend going it costs about $12 for a car for the whole day and well worth it with amazing scenery it's really a fun place to visit
Anna Mae Fipke
A great place to hike, bike, picnic and enjoy amazing Arizona scenery!
Devon Smith
I have only been here twice. Both times for the Wind Cave Trail. The entrance fees are reasonable and the park very clean. There is running water and flush toilets at the trail head. Be sure to bring lots of watet on the hike and start earlier in the morning in tje hotter months.
Gabe Storm
A great park to forget the madness of this world for a few hours at least. Clean and always serviced by a great staff.
S Parker
Extremely nice park. Awesome archery range. Trails for all levels. Does cost $7 a day for vehicle pass and another $2 to use archery range. Can buy coupon book and save $10 on 5 visits.
Erica Summers
Lovely large hiking and camping area with amazing varieties of cacti and a great place to view sunsets as well as stargazing. This is a favorite regular lookout spot for us, we will definitely be back! Beautiful desert landscape not far from the city, a great place to bring visitors to the area.
Loretta Lett
Fun little hike. Lots of kids/families and great views from the top.
Haigang Zhou
We stayed at the park for one night before a backpacking trip to the Superstation mountain. We reserved one of the Group sites. It is a big big site with parking space for more than a dozen cars. The shelter is big and has six big picnic tables. The facility is clean and like new.
The park is beautiful and has a trail that leads to a wind cave.
Bernard Flood
Great place to go and shoot. Safety is paramount. You can shoot all day for $20. Bring eye and ear protection.
Heather Shaker
We did a group campout. The views are beautiful and the park is very well kept. The group sites are far enough away to have privacy, too.
Stasia Macias
Such a beautiful place to hike. We love Usery and the kids enjoy learning about the desert from Ranger B.
Kate
Beautiful and well maintained campground catering mostly to RV's. Great spacing and privacy. Friendly and helpful staff and hosts. Great interface with nature and easy trails. Dislikes: sounds of gun range very intrusive and annoying (west portion of first camping area, site 16). This tent camper should've brought a groover, as access to restrooms was very limited unless you wished to intrude thru another campsite (I didn't). Suggestions: more access to restrooms from the west portion of the camp loop, and shoot the shooters 😉 .
Timothy Reed
Good trails with great views.
Brittney montoya
Gorgeous place to walk around .Lots of cacti and dessert views .
Darrel Riffle
I go to Usery every weekend ever since I moved here 9 years ago. Love this park
Al Marle
Spent the night in the rain there. Great host at the front gate. Hot showers. Bathrooms nice and clean. Way to go Forest Service
Wayne Harris
This is a great outdoor place to camp, picnic, or ride and walk trails. It's occupied enough for you to know there are others around. But secluded enough to where you can enjoy some quality time with whomever you need to have QT time with. Awesome place. It's 7 to get in and 32 to camp overnight.
Lynn D
Easy walk on Levee trail. Flat. Nice views. Occasionally take a side trail to get closer to desert.
Chad Anderson
This trail is set for mountain bikers, but very worth a hike. It has several trails to choose from and its scenery isnt bad once you get up high enough in the mountaintops to catch a scenery. Overall mountain bike status.. #Userypark
Tina Adams
Wonderful place to hike. Absolutely awesome
Brian Lamb
Very nice place to go hiking in the Phoenix area.
Audra Clark
Absolutely beautiful and we had a blast! If you like hiking up the side of a mountain, this is a great one to enjoy!! I look forward to doing it again when I'm back in this area! For those with small children or are of a more mature age, this is for anyone willing to traverse a rocky terrain! Also, bring your pup for a nice climb too! We passed tons of adorable pups on their leashes having a blast with the climb!
Deana Mcfaddin
Absolutely Beautiful! Arizona has some amazing views.
Michael Blanco
Great spot to shoot guns, hike, walk, bike or further down tube the salt River
Todd Mowen
Great place to hike. Mountain biking is good here for beginners. Iconic desert Arizona beauty.

Great shooting area at Rio Salado. Friendly informative people working there.
Anthony Canning
My first time here but definitely will not be my last. A great county park.
S Butterfield
Love hiking here. Beautiful desert scenery
Dan_E
Spent evening at group campsite B. Great facility with concrete tables and shade. Electrical outlets and lighting provided. Restroom is nice, but closet to the adjacent campsite A. Everything very clean and quiet.
Kim Kane
The sites are large and strategically positioned, complimented with beautiful, pristine natural desert landscaping. If you're into bird watching, this will not disappoint.
Clean, clean bathrooms and showers.
Miles & miles of stunning hiking trails.
We're locals, but this was our first time at this park. We scoped out the prime sites for a return visit. Not easy to get a reservation - plan FAR ahead.
Don't bother with the Nature Center - it was a dud - and the people who staff it are surely cranks - they don't want to be there anymore than the 1 lonely gopher snake. Have fun!
Jason Claiborne
great trail nice and easy steady climb with great view from the top.
Matt Taylor
Awesome park with some very nice trails.
Rebecca Clopp
Good for trail riding, running, or walking. Good for dog walking as well as many of the trails are wide and well maintained.
Angel Amen
It is a real nice campground with plenty of space between sites and awesome scenery.
Judson Seal
Went down the bulldog canyon trail, was a very easy trail and lots of fun.
Karlee Micaela
Such a great place to get away from city and experience the dirt. We went for one of the lunar eclipse hikes. 100s of people came. Pretty cool!
Andrew Martin
Beautiful park with multiple archery courses including a 3D course. There are also lots of hiking trails.
Ryan Taylor
Public restrooms with signs at the range would make for a nicer experience.
Amanda Brooks
Blevins Trail is a nice easy hike with beautiful scenery!
Melissa Nealey
Great place to stay with your RV and some awesome hiking!
Glenn MacRae
Great trail system for biking, running or hiking. Mostly flat and fast. Great in the very early Arizona mornings when it's still a little cooler out.
William Badās
Perfect trail system for intro to mountain biking. Scenic and smooth trails. We were surprised to find weight equipment under on of the awnings.
Kim L
Nice hike. Not difficult. Beautiful area. Horses allowed. Bikes too!
Tony Krautbauer
Nice easy to moderate hikes! Really close to Mesa, so it's fairly heavily trafficked. Still worth the trip. Nice views
Eric Brinker
Beautiful, the girlfriend and I went on the wind cave path, keep in mind this trail has little rocks that like to slide and move, but the view is worth it
Raymond Harris
Beautiful place, great trails and views for hiking riding or camping. Something for everyone!

Ancel Ayaay
First time a saw a giant cactus!..nice to do camping
Victoria Pennock
This was best, quiet, beautiful view camping spot we have stayed at all year. Clean bathrooms, showers not good if you have long hair, manicured natural, mostly level sites and great hiking trails.
Pamela Damm
We enjoyed the trail and the beautiful scenery. We will be back to try more trails. We loved going here!
Donna Browne
Fantastic hike
Susan Patten
Beautiful scenery and many awesome trails.
Bryant G
Wonderfully impressive. Beautiful scenery. Lots of hyping locations. Close proximity to the river. It's very busy and the prime season. Make sure to get there early to reserve a spot if you're wanting on the water. The voting activity can also become full. So, I had if you want to have a great adventure this area.
Rene Martinez
We had a blast camping and tubing. 2 hour ride from Tucson to Tube down the Salt River, which is so much fun!!! So exciting and serine at the same time... Oh man there was wild horses drinking from the river, so many species of beautiful birds flying around!!
And the campground had RV hook ups so we had our little RV and really had a good time!
Holly Wittwer
great place to hike! Easy to understand where to go. 6$ parking. Grills too!
Kyle Cotey
Great place to go shooting. Very professional staff.
Sue Nielsen

Very scenic desert park. Clean sites and facilities.
Jake Shapiro
Beautiful landscape , great for camping and hiking . Highly recommend the wind cave trail. Be advised there are a lot of hikers here so be kind . A lot of dogs were also on the trail with leashes . Very clean and just breathtaking
Kenneth Alford
I only go here for the archery range, but the range is pretty much everything you need just bring bow and your arrows and your good to go. The targets are fairly well maintained its worth the $7.00 plus 2.00 per person to get in.
Daniel Kessler
Beautiful area, great trails and amazing scenery!!
Johnny Aceshot
Fabulous place to enjoy nature, have a picnic, or do a little hiking if the weather permits. We stopped up there for lunch to wait for our hotel room availability. We watched a few rain clouds drift in, while the wind picked up. It was exciting to enjoy the display from under the protection of the dining roofs for protection.
AZSnarkF9
Great park for hiking and camping and picnicing. $7.00 a carload and just a great place. Come see it youll love it.
Shannon Havens
Beautiful views. Clean
Katie Hackett
The was a good park to go hiking. It is quiet and serene. Not too busy but also enough people to know you are not alone. Best to go with a group of people to lower the parking fee. Going alone is nice too and typically other people are on the paths. Beautiful Mountain with good views. Its worth the hikes. :)
Khat Hansen
Absolutely love this park doing the summer thing here is awesome hiking plenty of animals and the staff is super friendly. The park is kept in very good shape
Cathleen Anderson
Arrived late, sometime around 530 or 545pm. So much to take in. Absolutely enchanting.
Jack Doebler
This is a nice, safe, close in park.My companion and I had a nice hike and met some other folk enjoying the trails.Im thinking, however, there are a few cyclist who feel inconvenienced by the pedestrian element.
Andrea Wu
I came here on a Saturday morning to run Pass Mountain and hike Wind Cave afterward, and I arrived at the parking lot at 10:15AM. Note that since this is inside Uresy Mountain Regional Park, there's a $7 per motor vehicle. The parking lot was entirely full and street parking was pretty full too, but luckily I snagged a spot right at the trailhead as a car left. I went clockwise on the trail, and the map at the beginning says this trail is 7.5 miles (but actually if I add up the mileage on the map, it's 7.6 miles). The views before going down were good but once I went to the back of the mountain, the views weren't very good. Completely unshaded, most people are going counterclockwise so I ran into a lot of hikers, a few bikes, and even a horseback rider and his horse. Some parts of the path are a bit rockier than the others, but all manageable for running. I then did Wind Cave after the run, starting around 12:20PM. There were a lot of people on the trail, and most weren't wearing masks. The hike is completely unshaded and slopes gently up, not too bad. It's quite rocky so sturdy shoes are good. I got up in about 45 minutes and 35 minutes down. The cave at the top was cool compared to the hotter temperature going up, views were alright.
Russell Berthelette
Always a great place for solid hikes and outdoors activities. I have been on multiple trails and the range isn’t too far off from this location head down a short way past and you get in the area where tubing is available at salt river! Great park for a fun day! Bring sunscreen!
lynn mar
Super clean sites. Bathrooms were immaculate. They have nice showers, but they're water saver types that stay, then shut off till you start it again. Sites were level (well, site 66 was). Staff rakes them smooth before arrive which was nice. The only con was that there aren't many trees for shade or privacy
Taylor Finklea
I visit this park several times a week. The hiking is excellent and there are plenty of trails to choose from. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I also use their archery range which is also very large. Even when it's busy, there are so many targets that it is never crowded. I will continue to come here every week for years to come!
Daniel Brilliant
Stayed for a long time, longer than expected. Campsites are spread out enough that you have reasonable privacy. It's close enough to amenities like shopping and propane to be convenient, but far enough out to have great desert vistas and sunsets, complete with coyote packs howling in the predawn light. Layout of the sites makes them pretty easy to get into. Nice spot for families, but if you have kids that can't not touch cactus, watch out.
Andrew Drefahl
Super clean, tranquil, desert scenery is amazing, with so many adjacent and nearby trails. I think almost every site has water and electric. One of my favorite places in the country to spend time in the winter. Plus it’s close to a Walmart and in less than 30 minutes you can go from your site to Joyride tacos and margaritas in Gilbert!
Amy Kenobi
Beautiful cactus here! Just an overnight stay and wasn't able to see the whole park because they were full so I was an overflow but I imagine it is amazing as the cactus were in the parking lot!
Josh Forrester
What a beautiful hike. I hadn't been to Usery until today, and I'll definitely be back. The staff was so welcoming and helpful, and the trail was clean and scenic. All other hikers were friendly and kind. The wind cave trail was fairly simple, and can be completed in around 2 hours of total time. If you're in the area and are looking for a scenic hike, I highly recommend Usery Mountain Regional Park
Linda Bray
Clean hiking trails. Real toilets and water fountains at trailhead. Will come back and try other trails in this area!
Pam B
Wind cave trail was the only trail open because of the 50 k, but it was fun!
Janette Adriana
Watch for bikes! Great desert mountain range with bike and walking paths.
Stephanie Salem
This is a great place to get outdoors in whatever manner suits you best. The trails range from easy to difficult, out and back and loops, short hikes, long hikes, great elevation gain and very little slope. You can bring horses, bikes, kids, and dogs - just pay attention to which trail allows what. I recommend using AllTrails to plan your visit if you haven't been before. And don't forget to pay your entry fee into the park. The price starts at $2 for walk-ins, $6 for a carload, and it goes up from there.
MonicaJoylyn Vaughn
Beautiful park with stunning views. Awesome hiking trails. It was my first time out here and though I loved everything I just mentioned the shooting range next door definitely took away from the experience. Unfortunately because of that I won’t come again. I can find many Arizona Hiking trails that don’t cost to get in and there are just the sweet sounds of nature.
Kate Rieckenberg
Beautiful scenery and great trails for hiking, biking or horseback riding.
Nancy Delaney
Beautiful place to go for a hike. Clean trails and facilities. Informative staff, easy to navigate trails.
John Stimmler
Great park!! Very private sites.
Steven Noleen
A great place for hiking for any skill level
Corrie Mick
My husband and I loved this park. It's pretty epic for a regional park! We did the Pass Mountain trail that is about 8 miles of a hike up and down and around the mountain. Check out the info that they give you when you enter the park to see more details, but from what I remember most people go clockwise around that path and when you get to the southeast side there is a steeper, rockier, 500 ft section that some people turn back from. Honestly, it's not bad at all (at least going down). The hardest part of the hike is probably the heat of the sun, so plan accordingly with plenty of water and maybe even just hiking it early or late in the day. My husband and I enjoyed our late hike so we got a beautiful sunset just as we were getting back to our car.
This park has so much more than just what we got to see of it. Definitely worth a visit!
Jack K
Took one mile hike at usury mountain regional Park. Pretty flat, a lot of rock formations to look at. I've got diminished heart function they say, and it was an easy walk for me at 68 years old
Benjamin Browning
Great range with professional and attentive staff. The range masters keep everyone safe which is paramount in a place like this. Plenty of ranges to practice with all types of firearms. Great rates and membership prices. Safe place to get your pew pew on. Ken, one of the range masters, was very welcoming and friendly and made our experience that much better. Great outdoor range!!!
Joel E
Our favorite place to stay in the Phoenix area! Day use area is great but combinded with the campground its amazing! Huge, private sites that are well maintained. Shout out to the camp hosts! They clean the restrooms/shower rooms daily and can be seen working throughout the day.
John Crawford
Great local park that's still close to civilization. Wind Cave is a clear favorite hike in this park, but there are plenty of other solid trails as well. Amigo wash is pretty quiet. We make a point to visit the park whenever we are in the area.
Alexander Monson
We've hiked and RV'd twice in Usery Mountain. It is closer to home and Superstition Mountain has always been fun to hike up. It's really quiet up there and the RV parking spaces are apart from each other, so there is a lot of privacy. People get up on top of their RV at sunset and watch the sun go down. The staff is always good. They keep it clean. Love hiking anywhere here whether its alone or with company. Love the trails, never one that disappoints. One of my favorite definitely pass mountain trail nice 8 to 9 mile hike with astonishing views.
Carrie R
Beautiful, quiet park overlooking the Phoenix area. Sites are very private and extremely well maintained. Just minutes away from civilization. Great rock formations and old style air navigation marker visible from the park.
Andrew Fleming
Amazing hike. You start at 2000 ft and climb 1.5+mi up 820 ft. You can walk fast or trail run. It's not crowded and the trail is easily distinguishable without being too touristy. It costs $7 per vehicle or $85 for an annual season pass good for any vehicle that the purchaser is in and all occupants for any park in Maricopa County. Everyone on the Wind Cave trail was friendly and the trail is dog friendly as well. Wind Cave trail is a must do. Amazing views for minimal to moderate work. I highly recommend it. This was my second time doing it and it was as good as the first!
Scarlett Young
The most beautiful time. Peaceful, safe, and clean bathrooms/showers...made our stay very comfortable.
Jessica Shapiro
It was just so nice and relaxing!!! Cant wait to do it again.
Jen L
Went just for the hiking trails. We did the Wind Cave Trail and Mountain Pass Trail. We did the Wind Cave with our kids (9 and 11) with no issue. It was about a 3 miles trail. However, my favorite was the Mountain Pass Trail. We did it Counterclockwise as recommended by others and I'm so glad we did. Clockwise would have been tough for us. The view of the Mountain Pass Trail is beautiful! Way better than the Wind Cave. However, it is a long trail, about 8 miles, and I do not recommend taking the kids. It has its challenges, but wow, the view. Gotta see it with your own eyes. No picture nor video will do any justice.
John Kimball
Nice private showers, restrooms. No food shopping on site.
Matt Wheeler
Great place for a simple hike or nice bike rides on dirt trails. A great place to start teaching your kids how to mountain bike. Lots of good programs with park guides as well as fun little playgrounds for the young ones. A family favorite for my whole family. A place of great traditions for us.
Brenda MorrisonStanton
Very efficient clean well
Organized gun range
Mario Canava
Been riding/hiking here for years. Staff is always friendly and helpful. It does get crowded and you get people with dogs off their leash and double headphone peeps that can cause problems when you are mnt biking.
Vijay Pentapati
Pretty well maintained up to wind cave
Mark Witbeck
A nice park. Has some good trails for the horse lover as well as hikers. All sorts of trails from a flat trail to an incline trail to the "Wind Cave" which has great views of Phoenix during the sunset. However if you go on this trail at night make sure you bring a flashlight or headlamp. Cell phone lights are not good.
Gary slone
Great as always. Ronnie puts on a really great match. People from all over the southwest came out to shoot today. Made new friends and hung out with old friends what's not to love.
Kathleen Haeuptle
Many wide well kept trails to walk with enough space for social distancing. There is a charge for entering. We were visiting family and this was a great way to get our exercise. We purchased a coupon book. The people working at the booth at the entrance we're very helpful and friendly. We would check with them to see which trails were very busy that day. With the heat, go early, at least by 7:30am.
Tracy Chmielecki
Beautiful place to hike and will be back!
Jean Dupre
Excellent guest services. Maps available, clean full service rest rooms. Many trails for all skill levels. Definitely worth the $7 entrance fee.
travis bennett
Did a quick one night camping trip in our 180Rpod and had a blast met with some other Rpod owners and got in some hikes. Just great to be out with other campers.
Peter Pierfederici
Amazing hiking trails and views from the mountain.
Jeffrey Loder
Fun place for a ride, especially as the sun sets. Bring lights!
James Jines
I have only been coming to the shooting range here, however I feel that it cost me less in time and gas to come here than out to queen valley. The range masters here, and other staff are very on point and helpful. Makes it so much safer too. They take pride in their facility, and keep it clean. They don't care if I pick up my own brass, and provide everything you need to sight in your rifle.
Raquel Kulich
Very beautiful and quiet here.
Wayne Harmor
I think I remember this hike was in March, but the flowers were in full bloom and it was absolutely gorgeous. The cave at the top is cool but not breathtaking but the hike itself was extremely easy and beautiful.
Alisha Reynolds
We tent camped here over a weekend and visited lots of attractions in Phoenix. I chose this campground because of its proximity to the zoo and Goldfield Ghost Town and Pueblo Grande... and because it has showers. The campground exceeded my expectations in every way. I took a warm and very private shower every morning. Our campsite was neatly groomed, I even saw rake marks, where they smoothed out the gravel! There is a path straight to the bathrooms, lined with big rocks, to keep us on the path and away from accidentally walking into a prickly plant. The desert scenery was breathtaking. We went in January and the night temperatures were just perfect. All of my little kids slept great in the 50 degree temps. I will absolutely be bringing my family here again. Thank you for working so hard to keep the campground comfortable and beautiful.
Rich Mainwaring
A great place to take a stroll,a run or a bike ride .
Jim Lawrence
Spots were a little tight, neighbor dog barking all off the time.
Derek G
I love this hike for the family because it is fun and not too hard. Once you get to the Wind Cave it's a beautiful scene and shaded. Pack a lot of water because this has little to no shade all the way up to the top and even in the springtime can make you feel overheated. Great hike for bringing my dog.
Jim Sandelin
Many great trails, nice facilities. Friendly staff at welcome center.
Trekking Pals
Nice regional park in Arizona with easy and moderate hiking trails. The most popular hike in this park is wind cave. You can also bike to the park. There is a bike lane for road bikes. It’s a fun ride!
Highly recommend!
Board Game Black Hole
Wind cave hike, and other trails are great. Desert beauty, great views. Feels like you're far away from the city, but within minutes you're back to civilization. Great for spending a day, or camping over night.
Ashley
Home away from home. My boyfriend and I love this place.
Cristina Medina
I absolutely LOVED the service at the shooting range! The attention to every single detail to make sure everyone is safe was superb! This was my first time at a shooting range and I can't think of how it could've been better, I really felt comfortable and safe...THIS GUYS KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING!!!
Diana Riddle
Some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. Cooper's Hawk, lots of little lizards, gorgeous saguaro cactus oh, and the greatest views of Gold and Superstition Mountains. The trails are nice and range from easy to difficult depending on your choice. Definitely would recommend this.
Jake Patten
Great park with options for long or short hikes. Wine Cave Trail is usually crowded, but the trails to the south are a lot more secluded. Walking through the cholla forest and taking a lunch on Cat's Peak is a great midday getaway. The full 8-mile Pass Mountain roundtrip is not to be missed and offers great views of the Superstitions and Four Peaks. Vista Trail may seem like too easy and short of a trek for experienced hikers but the beauty of the scenery is absolutely worth it.
Geoff Braden
Want to get away from it all? Want to do some desert camping? Want a simple hike around a well groomed trail? Need something more challenging? Mountain Bike or Horse Back Riding? Don't want to drive "up north"? Usery Mountain Regional Park has all of that. Get a yearly pass and enjoy the Sept to April weather. Totally worth it. If you're intrepid the summer isn't too bad either, just be prepared. Also- super family friendly and tons of extras for the littles like a play area and a bunch of bathrooms. Go check it out you won't be disappointed.
Crispy 480
Had such a fun time visiting, all the trails the camping, it's perfect to take a day hike. $6.00 per vehicle so pack them in. Find out more information at the visitor center and park Ranger office. Remember to pack out all your trash! Keep our Deserts beautiful!!
Devin Crighton
I really enjoy the hike going all the way around the mountain. It is amazingly beautiful during the spring flower season. I do warn you though it is about 7.5 miles and isn't a hike to start the year off. I would do it only if your in shape. Nice area to pick-nick and hang out as well.
Ryan Jones
Very Knowledgeable and safe range officers! Wonderful place, just make sure you listen to every word of the range officer. If you don't listen and make a mistake, you'll be ejected. Other than that, best range in AZ.
Sally Harland
Love camping here. Beautiful sites. Lots of space. Quiet and peaceful. Rangers are very friendly and helpful. You can see and hear nature all around you. Great place to feel like you are out in the country, but close to town too.
Daniel Winter
One of 11 Maricopa County parks. Multi purpose trails. Archery range, picnic areas, playgrounds, and nature center.
Bill Harder
Great campsite. Spent the weekend there with the Cub Scouts. Campsite has a lighted pavilion, electrical outlets and running water. The built in fire pit is a good size. There is plenty of space to spread out tents. Our scouts had a great time hiking the trails early in the morning and went on a full moon hike later in the evening.
John Shirts
Rugged desert beauty and innumerable hiking trails of diverse difficulty
William Rhodes
I have hiked many mountains but this one is right in that sweet spot. A good 3 mile loop round trip, if you do Wind Cave. There are many other trails. I suggest, wait until you are familiar with Arizona hiking before you wander. It's down right easy to get lost or dehydrated. This is coming from a pro. If you have been to Alaska, I would say this is like hiking Flattop. 3500 ft elevation at the top and the views are amazing. The Wind Cave trail is not as strap a rise so it's a little better for newcomers.
Caycee White
Very pretty, you will need to pay to enter or can use a Maricopa County Park Pass for entry. They have easy hikes and hard hikes alike.
Jim Loes
Wide variety of trails for all ages and experiences. Beautiful desert scenery within the Mesa area. Very serene and relaxing walking.
Sarah Martin
We went on the Three Mile Thursday hike -- about a dozen folks, mostly seniors. It was a perfect pace, taking one hour to complete. We stayed on level ground for the most part. Saw lots of desert beauty from the desert floor. We saw three (maybe four) mule deer, which we were told is a very evasive species. Ranger B was, as always, a joy to be with. Easy-going, full of information. The perfect guide.
Katie Wilkins
I love nature, so easy 5 stars there. Depending on where you are, you can find all sorts of nice trails. Even though a trail may not have a "sweet" destination like a waterfall or awesome formation, you can still find spectacular views. We like to watch for signs of life -like chicks in saguaros and blossoms, or birds of prey (we spot at least one every time), or quail and rabbits, or coyote droppings. (Fun fact: A quick way to tell whether it's a dog or coyote is to notice how much hair is in the dropping. Domestic animals don't typically eat much if anything with hair)
Maria rodriguez
Enjoyed camping overnight, bathrooms were clean, the sight was clean. Enjoyed the nature center. It's nice to be in the wilderness but still be 10 min away from town. Perfect for a newbie camper.
Suggestion: Tons of jumping cacti, be prepared.
Shawn iwamasa
Safety is a top priority here. Makes me feel comfortable. Let's new shooters understand that using a gun comes responsibility. Raised rate to $15. Heard rumor that new housing developments near by want to shut this down, hope it's not true. If so, don't let it happen. Load up and shoot
Melissa Dielen
I just arrived in Arizona last night, and this is the first hike I was able to take. What a beautiful park! Wildlife is thriving and there's a large variety of flora surrounding the trails. I'll definitely be back before I leave AZ!
KEN WEISS
Dry as a bone in December. Very dusty, decent hiking trails. The biking trails are so soft it’s almost impossible to bike through them. The only solid bike trails here are for walking only. If that makes any sense? Flat and boring not worth the photos.
Nathan Klemstein
Love the trails. Entry fee is reasonable.
Krista Johnson
We come from out of town every year and run on the Pass Mountain trail. It’s well maintained and not too crowded if you go early enough. I look forward to it every time we come!
Judy King
Great park for archery, a picnic, hiking, camping and viewing the beautiful desert. For a quick walk, the Merkel trail is fabulous as it’s easy to navigate half of it has a slight uphill and half of it has a slight downhill. Last time I was there we found a fire pit by one of the picnic areas and we will probably be back soon to enjoy that. The staff is really nice there and they have a shop near the entrance. Make sure to bring plenty of water. Even if you’re not going on a long hike, you need the water out here.
Trevor Farnsworth
A park worth visiting. Several different trails for joggers, hikers, bikers and horseback. The Wind Cave Trail provides wonderful views of the valley while Pass Mountain Loop Trail will give you a great look up north and east towards Mt Ord and the Four Peaks.
Marc Leatham
A great time. Very welcoming of newcomers. Just don't be an idiot, and make sure to follow instructions. The employees did fit the conservative, tone deaf stereotype you would expect to find at a gun range, but they were happy and welcoming. Just be the same yourself.
Josh “Scosh” Scotia
really cool little place that's usually overlooked by a lot of hikers but there are three decent hikes and even an outdoor gym in this park and is very pet friendly as long as you keep them on a leash. Usually it's 7 bucks at the gate if you don't have a pass and I would bring plenty of water and no matter what time of year.
Callean Bocock
Highly maintained Park! You pay a fee to come in and utilize the park and trails but for good reasons. The trails are maintained, bathrooms are plentiful and clean, they hold numerous event/guided hikes all year round, there is even a mini outdoor gym!A while back I went on a scorpion hunt guided hike after sundown and while the group was very large the park ranger did a fantastic job of explaining what we were to see and many other helpful tips.I hope to go one of their sunset hikes soon as I have probably missed the wildflower blooms hike. As always, treat these public lands with respect and leave no trace!
Marcus Schultheis
I am a frequent visitor and pass holder. I recommend this park for beginner to intermediate hiking, and all levels of mountain biking and trail running.
Their trails and trailheads are well maintained with full restrooms with running water and drinking water available. I enjoy their outdoor resistance training machine adjacent to the trail system on my trail runs.
Hiking around pass mountain and wind cave offers nice views of the phon d sutton area (goldfields) and usery mountain. Views of the superstition ridgeline in the distance.
Excellent mountain biking and running trails in the southern section of the park.
Brian W
This is a good shooting range for just about any type of firearm. For actual targets it is limited to 200 yards with gong's at 300 yards but nothing further than that.
They are VERY strick on gun safety which is a good thing, so if your used to a more relaxed shooting range, you will not be happy there.
The staff are almost all friendly with the exception of 1 that I have noticed. Just make sure to listen carefully to the range officer's, they will not think twice to kick you off the range if you do something they don't like. But it's a good place all in all.
My only real complaint is the 300 yard limit on the main range. They do have a longer range, 600 meters I think, but I have never used that range
denise chapman
This park is one of the best places in the area to go. There are many trails of varying lengths and difficulty for any and all people to come and enjoy. There are playgrounds and even an outdoor gym and the interpretive program is wonderful! There are events almost daily. The staff and volunteers are top-notch and some of the friendliest people you could ever meet. Come for a hike, come for a picnic, make sure you come and check out this jewel of the desert.
Tj Cuddy
Go! Use the well maintained but difficult hiking trails to see beautiful views of the valley. Camp amenities are great, new bathrooms at the Blevins trailhead are great. Wonderful for a picnic or special event with family.
Dee Maurer
Was looking for an easy trail to take my pup on his first hike. We did Blevins Trail. It was a nice easy trail with beautiful views. I did opt to also go around Cats Peaks. Again a nice easy going trail...a little elevation but nothing strenuous.
Johnny Delgado
Fun place for family hikes and also dog friendly.
matt rollins
Great place to hike, explore, picnic, even riding.
Sharolyn Page
Fantastic experience
Jessica Foster
Beautiful area! I love the mountains! We saw deer, they have an awesome workout/exercise area that has resistance machines. Bathrooms are clean! The Archery facility is great with multiple trails!
Mark Reed
Beautiful example of Sonoran desert scenery
Marcielle Wray
The hiking path was a lot of fun! I wouldn't call it easy, but I did see many kids doing just fine. It does cost $7 per car to enter, so ride together.
Kelly Fulsome
Every year our family gets together in February for a breakfast reunion. We rent out a Ramada, everyone brings food to share and we sit around the campfire eating and sharing stories of the past year and upcoming events. We always reserve the same Ramada because there is a playground for the little cousins to romp around, and a cemented court for them to ride bikes and scooters on too. Close by there is also a bathroom. After breakfast, some of the adults and kids take a hike on one of the many trails that are available. Back towards the entrance there is a gift shop to browse in that also has some interesting "creatures" in tanks to look at. We enjoys the beautiful desert scenery here very much! Many gorgeous photo ops too, especially at sunset or sunrise but really any time of day will do.
Tad C. Niemyjski
Nice place to hike. Many options to choose from with minimal cost.
Ramyesh S
Hiked the Pass mountain summit, wonderful experience
Lorraine Lynn
Trying to learn how to shoot a gun for the first time, and the people were very helpful to me and my husband. We will go again every once in a while. Rules are easy to follow. Love this place.
Katherine Cook
The desert is very beautiful and Usery has some great trails to explore it. My favorite time to visit is when everything is blooming. Gorgeous. Don't forget sunblock and water, no matter the time of year!
Kevin Olson
Nice hike started on one trail and hooked on one to another and had 2 deer walk across our right in front of us. One thing u have to keep your eyes on the trail in front of you always we had about 15 bikes we had to move for
Rick Fowler
We LOVED Usury Mountain camp ground. Well maintained, beautiful scenery helpful and friendly staff.
R Tillman
My wife and I often shoot archery here. The bales at the upper and lower range are okay but not great. Because I shoot a fast bow, 320 fps+ I sometime shoot out the back of the bale and have hit the steel post. 3D tournaments are great here. Coarse is laid out well. Facilities are always clean and taken care of.
Eff Lan
Living in the south most of my life, I always craved learning about and being around mountains. This past spring I was blessed with being able to move to the Phoenix, Arizona area. This (Usery Mountain Park) is the first place I went hiking and it was love at first sight! If you are ever blessed to meet Shirley at the front gate, your day will certainly be brightened before you hit the hiking trails.
I had never seen saguaros before and I tell my friends now when I’m about to set out hiking, “I’m heading to Windcave trail to be hugged by all the saguaros. ☀️🌵☀️ Get the annual membership pass...it’s a must have! Enjoy!
James McKinnon
Beautiful park and fun trails! I recommend going over by Hawes trail for views out away from the city. Cool to see different types of cactus throughout.
William cronin
Theres nothing like a mountain to run up to help get you ready to race. My cousin ran up this thing quite a few times. It's a great hike though. Just make sure to stay hydrated. It's best to hike during the fall.
Matthew Nielsen
Part of the Maricopa County regional park system this park includes great hiking and biking trails. The trails are mostly easy riding with the exception of Pass Mountain trail which is black diamond, and good time for advanced riders. This park also includes an extensive and well appointed archery facility.
Michelle Fabro
This park has something for everyone. Windcave is an awesome trail and the bike trails are great. Ranger B. makes appearances on the trail and is always great to see. Park is Worth every penny spent towards membership.
Billy Crowson
Love this place. Had time to kill before a flight back to Ga.
It is awesome, I used to live within 5 miles and it made me homesick for the east valley again...
Angelina Ghrist
Absolutely love it!
Justin Blau
A bit of a stretch to call it a cave, but the views were lovely and the sunset from the top was magical
Mark Carter
It's hiking in the desert, I'm 34 years old and lived here 32 years, I saw my first rattler here last summer. Out of the way but still close, $7 for a single day is by far worth it, and $80-$85 for the year membership is a steal
Tracy Bicknese
Great Hike to work those calf muscles.
John Richmond
This is a nice area with a gun range, archery, camping and hiking. Pretty views.
Patrick Murphy
We did the full moon hike last night with Ranger B, wow the desert is even more beautiful by the light of the moon. This is a must for everyone and only $6.00 per car load. Go on the hike with the Ranger, he always adds a funny touch to the hike. Great job Maricopa County with this well maintained park and the Ranger led hikes. Ask him sometime about how Usery Park got its name, that is a funny story.
Charity Carney
Love this place. We go for archery and love the range. I'd give it 5 stars if the 3-D animal targets were in better shape! Fixed distance ranges are very nice and we love that the targets go out to 100.
Gary Lown
A favorite of mine if your looking for a well run government controlled hiking trail. The Wind Cave trail is a must at least once. If you're looking for more of a challenge and some breath taking scenery go on the 7+ mile Mt. Pass Trail. Amazing views once you get about 2.5 miles in. Bring at least 2 litres of water if cool outside. Hotter weather I'd double that.
Cory Waite
Beautiful. Always an exceptional time. Wind Cave is the most popular trail, but there are plenty of others with varying difficulty levels. Definitely pack plenty of water and a few snacks to refuel yourself during your hike.
Mike Reed
Great park, the Ranger is cool, and the staff is super friendly & helpful. Trails also go into Tonto National Forest. Wind Cave Trail is a must, and the Pass Mountain Trail is a 7.5 mile loop without equal.
Cactus Pilot
Great place for Airgunners also!
Joshua Daniel
The usery mountain regional park is super fun to hike on I just barely went to the usery mountain regional park and after the hike do you know what makes the day to go out to eat after.
Craig Perks
Wind Cave Trail was our favorite hike during our week in the Scottsdale area. Beautiful scenery and an easy to moderate level of difficulty for an out of shape 50+ and a seven year old. Nice cool shady rest in the cave at the top. Gps showed 3.2 miles round trip and 820 ft of elevation. We took 3 hrs total with several stops. Enjoy!
Vince Adamo
This cool regional park is great for camping. We have been here several times and the location never fails to be awesome. Go sometime you will not be disappointed
