Reviews of Schuylkill Banks
Jeffrey Hsu
So fortunate to have this artery running through the city. Just fantastic river side to run walk or bike.
You’ll see people exercising from early morning to late at night. They have events during the summer like movie nights and you’ll see groups of people hanging out and enjoying the evening time.
Not the entire length is lit up at night so you do have to be mindful about that. I would be nervous walking by myself and having dark corners here and there but that’s more a night thing than anything else.
When the river gets flooded parts get impacted but the city does a good job maintaining the length of the park and it’s a great way to get to Kelly drive and the art museum!
The Duke Of Legends
I love this park, it is a long walk with lots of sights and people going about working out or socializing. You can sit on the grass for a picnic and chat with friends. Went there first in 2019. It is ine of my fav parks..... although I wish they the restrooms were cleaned on a daily basis, my only complaint.
Deborah Toliver
Very nice walking and biking paths. A great to see the city.
Saqib Shakil
Skukyl banks is a good place to walk, run or bike. But not today, after the hurricane ida resulted in overflow of river waters last night. Here are some pictures of the overflowing waters today.

The Schuylkill waterfront is one of a kind. Just a nice place to walk, run, bike, skate, or relax. The sights are incredible.
John Panto Gilkin
The city has just done an incredible renovation of the now completed trail n bike and walk bridges. And as you can see, the fish are back. Get there and escape. Pleasant people n gr8 food right there...
Gilbert Alfaro Jr.
Love this trail! Great scene of the river and City. Great place either jog, walk or spend time with family and that special someone!
Latoya Fleming
Very relaxing with a beautiful view. Everyone can be free here and their dogs can be, too. Peaceful setting.
Rick S.
I absolutely love the Schuylkill Banks such a great outdoor area and can’t wait until 2020 when it’s completed. Great well kept area along the banks of the Schuylkill to take a nice walk, jog, run, Segway or bike!
David Ford
I've been walking along Schuylkill Banks park or bicycling down it for years, every since it was built. This time I was on assignment from a meditation class at Shambhala Center. Take in mindful awareness as we walked in the urban environment. What happened was unexpected.
As I walked I was seeing and experiencing what was present, but at the same time I also experienced many layers of the past; times I ride with me son or walked with friends when various buildings were not yet in existence. Each step of the walk brought back different experiences, overlaying the past people and buildings that had been here on top of the people and buildings here now.
It felt like Philadelphia was opening like a flower whose petals were layered through time as I walked past. I almost didn't know which petal to look at; the ones that brought back memories of people I love and loved our the city as it is in this moment; in this present, which has more people and more cars and more buildings and is changing each second as I take each step along the river.
Sheree Jones
My husband and I came to have a picnic and it was beautiful ,then all of a sudden we see a rat running near our picnic area ,that was our que to pack up ,kinda put a damper on our picnic fun but we still enjoyed ourselves
Megatron Don
Great place to kick it when it's nice out, you can go for a run anytime you like and it connects to art museum and skatepark.
Foram Gosrani
A great place for an evening walk! River side, peaceful, quiet despite being in the city. Clean. Less crowded.
michael moore
Sparsely packed, three was plenty of space to fine under a tree for a brief picnic with my partner. It's not far from Good Karma Café so ultimately it was the perfect early Saturday date. The view of the river was refreshing.
Brooke R.
Awesome location for a walk, jog or to just lay down a blanket and enjoy!
Willy From Ph!lly
Great place to take a walk or ride a bike. Active area.
Caleb Sutton
Highly recommend their boat tour of the Schuylkill! Beautiful but also very informative!!
Jeremy B
Great place to walk or bike! Great views of Schuylkill river.
Eeha Bhatt
I love it. Lots of space to take your kids and pets. Beautiful banks and lawns. And you can relax and watch out..
Al Mamun
I often go for walk and biking. Nice clean. Lots of bench for seating, trimmed grass area where u can seat with group.
Christopher Utkus
Fun, exciting, beautiful, and sometimes dangerous. Please keep right and pass left as walkers, runners, bicyclists compete for space during busy hours.
Alena Reed
One of my favorite places to catch the sunset and meditate, or have an impromptu picnic lunch. You can access the schuylkill river trail and bank all along the trail, but I live nearby Walnut and I usually hang around that area if I'm not walking the trail trying not to get run over by cyclists and plowed by runners; it's quite the adventure even just trying to cross the trail to sit on the banks...think Frogger! All jokes aside (though still do be careful) it is a worthwhile place to enjoy a little air and green space without leaving the city.
Patrick Hammer
Perfect place to have a picnic, get a tan or just relax in the shade with a good book. The trail by the water is perfect for walking, jogging, riding bikes or walking your dog. I highly recommend a visit to the place to check it out for yourself.
Faruk Batakci
Great place to take a walk next to river, whether you are with small kids or with your pets.
Derek Pelham
Great place to walk. Not too crowded during the week.
Jeff G
Better than the High Line. Philly's best views, dog run, romantic spot and exercise area, all in one!
Arnav Bhattacharya
The Schuylkill banks are like a green oasis in the middle of center city Philadelphia. Whether you are looking for a relaxing walk, a fun picnic or a great place to run and exercise, Schuylkill banks provides all these options. I enjoy passing my time on the banks and just watch the river flow.
Carolyn Sigman
The trail is the best place to run and bike in Philadelphia. It does get a little crowded on the weekends and that makes it harder to bike. The sunrise and sunset are incredible from the trail!
Mama Jen
Great path, but soooo crowded on weekends. I prefer to walk there on weekday mornings for sure!
Romeo Cochrane
Always beautiful in any season. The winter sunset behind the buildings in University City catches the eye. "Shards" I thought. ...of glass piercing the evening sky.
DAVID LANDRECHT
So grateful that the the daily walk from 30th Street Station to my office includes a little jaunt along the Schuylkill Banks Trail!
Tim Barlow
Great walking/running path along the river, very clean and family friendly!
Aisha Aguilar
Iperfect for a morning walk or jog. For a kore relaxed plan you can have hammocks and picnic blankets while you enjoy the city view.
James Meechie “Rayshona” Houston
Like nice and clean so relaxing & a chill place to have a picnic, yoga, exercise, take Instagram pics
Sushant kumar
One of the best place to walk in philadelphia
Mark M
Very well kept area with lots to see as you walk along.
Joseph Croft
They are improving this more every year. It can get VERY crowded but it's still beautiful.
Cynthia King
MLK Trail was nice to ride bikes on but the roads are still in need of repair.
Howard Roberts
Amazing views and great people walking running and just being sociable.
Kaust Shroff
Who doesn't love this place? It's absolutely gorgeous and quite a long walking and biking trail. Best part is it's right by the river, so you'll get beautiful views. Dogs are welcomed but must be kept on tight leash. Parking is the only issue as it's quite popular with the local city folks who get their exercise done here. I believe there is also a well kept skateboarding park here. Overall, it's a great way to spend an hour or two in nature.
Kelley Smith
I love it. Great for walking, running or biking and serene enough to relax on a bench with a book or lay on the grass with family, friends or alone. The art museum and West Philly skylines are magnificent backdrops. The energy of the skateboard park is youthfully freeing and exhilarating. The exits to the city are a wonderfully convenient way to connect to City Center. They thought of everything for everyone. So proud to be Philly born and raised.
Bill Newbold
Love going here for a walk. Wish there were fewer homeless
Kimberly Grandy
Great location for relaxing, people watching, dog walking, exercise, and fishing.
Akousa Wilson
Love the view of the city. Great place to workout
Sergio Santamaria
Lovely place to do whatever you like: from read a book to taichi or a baby shower. Always a good atmosphere and University City skyline on the background
Andrew Stein
Great spot! Plenty of shade to stop and relax, path is smooth and wide.
Alexa Nahas
South Street Bridge has the best view of the Philadelphia cityline and is easily accessible from the schuylkill river banks. It’s a great spot to start a more urban family photo session. It is nice to have the playground and dog park nearby.
M Moul
I just started walking the trail. It is great for walking, biking, running/jogging I love that it is so easily accessible with ramps or stairs at major streets along the way. There are places to sit and relax or stretch. When the weather is nice you can even sit by the river and picnic. It can get crowded when the weather is nice but, you can still safely enjoy your run/walk/bike/skates.
J Hughes
Awesome at night. Plenty of scenery for photographers
Ardella Miles
Yes,I enjoy walking and as a young girl wanted to be a Civil engineer but decided on a Business path with an emphasis on the sciences.
Candido Paredes
Fantastic place to walk, run and be on a bicycle
James Deegan
The boardwalk at schuylkill banks gives u many nice angles to view the commerce that is happening all around the area. All the new architecture with their new LED lights brings all kinds of flashing brightness and cars n trucks on the 76 hwy make it a super busy landscape. Definitely a Kool place to sip a few beers while walking the trails.
joe Baby boy
If u are asking me why i gave five star its because i have alot of childhood memories here wining my first fishing tournament i still fish here one of the top carp fishing spot
Li-Cheng Tsai
The views are beautiful.
Ian White
Great running/biking path. Amazing view
Sunny Youn
Food trucks and waterfront boardwalk with lots of seating
Jonathan Cheng
Attended Parks on Tap on the Schuylkill River. Great view, atmosphere, and vibe.
John Gunawan
Great place/route for a run, jog, walk, or to bike.
Jim S
Beautiful path and park. Favorite, the boardwalk section that floats on the water. Rest stops and shaded benches. Stunning views and smiling visitors. Dog park nearby, museum and plenty of food options nearby. Access is easy and nice green spaces for picnic, sunning and experiencing nature in the city. The compost restrooms are 24 hour and a responsibile and forward thinking upgrade. Have fun!
Scott Grimes
Great spot for people watching and day drinking by the river! 🥂 Cheers! …
Viviane Vanderlinde da Silva
great for walking/running/biking but the view is nothing special
Megan Wilcox
This is a gorgeous, must-see, walking and biking path in Philly. Even if you're a visitor, the views of the city are great and it's a gorgeous way to experience the river. I live nearby and go on walks here all the time.
I will note for biker though - it can get extremely busy when it's really nice out, and at peak hours of the day. I've seen several bikers fall off their bikes by hitting people or trying to avoid people. It may not be the best place for bikes, but if you ride further past the art museum it is less crowded.
Gabriel Garcez
Beautiful sunset, and amazing view of the river. It's a short walk from a couple parks, so one can get some good pictures of the golden hour both at the parks, then at the bridge with the sunset.
This place is great to bike around, with a bike lane that coasts the river as far as the eye can see.
Shoshana Trotman
There are NO restrooms so make sure you keep this in mind. The view of the river is excellent the whole way with plenty of places to sit or fish. I walk and bike this trail multiple times a week. It's a perfect escape from the city
David Choi
Beautiful views, great spots along the river to set up a hammock or picnic blanket. There are benches and grassy areas to stop at and a public restroom along the way. It can get pretty crowded when the weather is nice.
While walking the path, please be wary of cyclists. They can often times be rude and entitled, not to mention dangerous. Not all of them, but it only takes one to injure you or otherwise ruin your day.
Barry F
Well kept, great views, plenty of resting spots. Great place to bike.
Frank Richardson
Need better access from the street above like a ramp.
Rob Silvagni
The elevated walkways are new, clean, and cool looking. The grass area was well maintained and pleasant. Most of the trees are new so there wasn't much of a selection of picnic areas if shade is what you desire. The whole area was hopping.
susan weber
It's magical. The best part of my day is walking my dog here.
Edward Brown (Bakonmaestro)
Gorgeous views amazing trail to ride on.
Michail Maksimov
Very wonderful and peaceful place!
Tory Peurifoy
I love walking here. It's always clean. There's clean bathrooms along the way. The landscaping and views are so beautiful. One of the gems of philly. There's stairs/ exits along the way the lead the other areas of the city. So you're not stuck on the path. My sister walks her dog here and they have all kinds of stops along the way especially for dogs to stop and get a sip of water. Very nice path to take a stroll. They've recently extended the path past the South Street bridge...even better.
Camille F.
Nice spot on the river. Great outdoor yoga. A little busy so go early if you want a more serene experience
Thalya Fermin
I love to come here to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It can sometimes get busy but never overwhelming. Any season, its always a nice spot. There are benches where you can sit by the riverfront and enjoy the view of the City and River. I also like how it's clean and you don't normally see litter on the grass or the sidewalk.
Jim Too
Great place for a walk, run or bike ride. Wide hard surface trail with lots of access points and view of the river. Only downside was the traffic noise from the expressway.
Brian Samelson
Excellent riverside walking & biking trail
Avik De
Amazing for running. If you want to bike fast in good weather, make sure to go early or after dark (crowded otherwise). Worth noting for people looking for running/biking routes: you can cross over to the trail on the west side near spring garden, and again on falls bridge.
Douglas Bobrow
Excellent for locals (for a walk or bike ride) or visitors to walk from South Street up past Boathouse Row. The trail stretches north all the way past East Falls. Keep an eye out for special events such as Parks on Tap, Movie Night, or free fitness classes that may be taking place. The view of the city is nice from many different spots.
K B
1st time here for a Movie night and information about family Will was very informative. Great night for outdoor movie, "knives out". Love Daniel Craig and other actors n actresses in this movie. 👏👍 …
Lindsey M. Adams
Great for walking your dog, jogging, biking, or even sunbathing on a big rock. Plenty of people around, a nice walk from South st bridge to the art museum.
Just because you feel like you're in another city, remember it's still Philly..pay attention to your surroundings.
ARUSHA ACHARYYA
Best place for an after work lazy stroll during summer afternoons. You can walk, run and bike. Also a nice place for small afternoon picnics. Nice view of the river and philly skyline. Nice place near University city to sit and relax.
Ray B.
This was a nice place to relax. The bike trail is okay, but can get a little congested with ppl walking & running, mostly because it's just not very wide. Nice views of the river & a decent grassy area for some sun
Dave Trout
One of the best biking/walking trails anywhere.
e
Great place for firework viewing!
J M Grant
Watched the 4th July celebrations
from this area, despite the previous rain storm , and the huge crowds,
it was an evening to remember.
Matthew Copley
This is a nice place for running, biking, walking and even just finding an area to relax while looking out at the fast moving environment and wonder in thought.
The path is minimally sloped so that adds to the overall experience and, generally speaking, is beneficial for joggers, long-distance runners, & bikers.
I personally believe it is worth mentioning:
Seeing a few underserved individuals who were nested up preparing to bare the night's cold was not a joyous sight; that is just my opinion though, no matter the journey's past path traveled, sleeping with the unknown on the mind, unsure of safety & exposed to numbing, freeze-scorching winds is for no being to bear.
Justin McKinley
I ride my bike almost daily along the bike trail there. It's kept beautiful with landscaping. People are usually mindful of bikers and runners and walkers. Along with plenty of places to stop and sit either on benches or rocks all along the schukill river.
Loren Hicks
It's lovely and so useful. A perfect place to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. It's probably the fastest way to bike or walk from Center City West to South Philly.
I anticipate someone will set up a water ice or ice cream stand over the summer and rack up. The whole walk I kept thinking the only thing that would make this riverside stroll better is a mango gelati...
Tim Barlow
Lovely walk here. I've taken long walks at all times day and night and it has been very safe, well-lit, and beautiful. BIG problem if one needs the rest rooms. There is only one, it's rarely unlocked, is just a pit under a metal seat, and mirrors, tissue, and sanitation is more on par with an abandoned camp ground. Bring your own water and watch the bikers. They're really bitchy when you get in the way or walk on the wrong side of the path.
Srinidhi Raghavendra
A fantastically serene place located close enough to Philly downtown to be accessible, and far enough to take one out of the hustle and noise of the historic district. I enjoyed visiting this place multiple times during my 5-day visit to Philly. Even though the river is dirty and appears brown the surrounding greenery makes up for it. The paved trail seems to stretch endlessly, making it an ideal spot for running, cycling, walking, or just hanging out with friends on a full moon night. Watching 4th of July fireworks from this location was amazing.
The city can get hot and sultry during summer but walking by the river on the trail and boardwalk is sure to help ease the discomfort.
Keith Williams
It was beautiful being on the Schuylkill after 30 plus years coming up the Delaware to go up to Schuylkill to the back of the Water Works building and see the Art Museum and the City and get some good fishing in beautiful day
Roy M
We love to walk/run/picnic here! Can get a wee bit crowded on weekends, and the folks on bikes blasting past are sometimes annoying. Otherwise, great spot to enjoy the outdoors!
Ms. Mikaelson
Good place to relax and clear your mind
Betty Harris
We enjoyed fishing along the Schuylkill banks this summer.
John Young
This has a beautiful scenery. The trail goes along the Schuylkill River from South Street all the way up to Valley Forge. It's perfect for walkers, bikers and anyone looking for easy exercise.
Sergei Kuznetsov
A long flat dirt trail along the channel with nice views. We rode one hour one way and returned. Trail after rain could be muddy. Weekend parking is limited, there are lot of bike enthusiasts. Parking lot has public toilet.
Samuel “Sam” B
The paths a little too narrow, but some really nice views and cool pockets of air when you ride through certain sections of the drive. The path is a little wider down the Paines park side of the trail. Ultimately you just wanna slow down when it is more congested on the trial.
Isaiah Dixon
If you are looking for a place to walk, run, or even just ride your bike with your friends or family, this is the perfect place to go to when in Center City Philadelphia. The trail is around 10 miles long, but while you are just walking and chatting with your family or friends, you may not even notice the length.
Danyelle Jackson
Nice walking path, sitting areas and view
Liam McKenna
Though it's a low bar, this is the best waterfront park in the city. The main issue is it's quite narrow. On weekends, pedestrians, cyclist, and runners are a terrible combination. Everyone tends to maintain their speed. The paths should just be wider. On the plus side, it's a great spot for photography, resting on the grass, and setting up a hammock.
Leanne M
I love the Schuylkill banks trail. This park is very well maintained and the views are amazing and refreshing!! This is an amazing place to go on a walk/run/bike ride and it is also a good place to meditate or relax. I love coming here
Mariel Betge
It was super crowded on a Sunday to be expected. It's very pretty and has benches to look out at the water but all in all it's not very "natur-ey" if that's what you're looking for. Parking can be rough
brian purves
One of my favorite places to go read, relax and get some sun in the summer. Easy access with bike trail running along the park. Great place to picnic with friends and great sunsets as well!
Sam McConnell
Great place to kayak in center city Philadelphia, very unique experience to view every day city life taking place all around you, while you float on the rivers surface calmly at easy and peace with Mother Nature.
There are many old, abandoned, & forgotten bridges, loading docks, etc... to observer along your journey up and down the river.
It’s only about a 30 min row to Philadelphia museum of Art from here.
Mark Mandel
A pleasant place for a stroll, and for walking from some parts of the city to some other parts, not all. But I wish there were more benches in the shade.
Mark Henninger
If you want to see some of the greatest views in Philadelphia, all you need to do is take a stroll or a jog along this trail. Started South Street, and at the Art Museum for concentrated collection of sight. The only lament is that the trail is not wide enough to accommodate the sheer volume of people that enjoy using this park.
M. Barra
A fantastic river trail to stroll, run, bike, or skate. Great views of water as you head north. Recently voted one of the best urban parks in the country. The extension to South St makes it even easier to get to.
Alex Sopelak
If you are trying to get around Philadelphia and the Greenway/Schuylkill banks walkway is a parallel path I highly suggest taking the detour. As the heat and humidity settles within the buildings in center City, you can escape a bit for some fresh air and cool breeze by walking on this path. The path can take you from downtown Philly to valley forge (more of a bike distance) and offers some nice views along the way.
Sarah Smith
💃This is always the third stop on our day trips to Markward playground. Even the benches are fun! 🐛 It's really nothing more than a path, but being at the river's edge is exciting to both my grandsons and myself. We love looking at the water noticing and discussing the movement of the water, floating objects and whatever else they observe. They must run the full length of the path before we turn back towards home. It's great for 🚶, 🏃and 🚲. This is the third stop, the playground is the first and there's a great dog park in between. If you need somewhere to run down your energizer bunnies 🔋without wearing the grown ups out this is a healthy, happy way to do it! 🌝
Aby Koshy
Great for walk, jogging and biking
Andy Allsopp
An ambitious open space project, The Schuylkill River Trail provides around 60 miles of leisure and utility fitness space. It’s not clearly signed from the city, so if you’re visiting Philadelphia your best bet is to walk to the nearest bridge crossing the Schuylkill, and keep your eyes peeled for steps leading down on the eastern bank. From there, chase it north into country that looks like more like Henley than anything in the USA.
B ES
Oh loved the kayaking excursion that they run here in the warm weather months. It's safe and great fun. Paddle up to the Art Museum, staying away from the falls, and then paddle back. All with a well, trained guide.
Kenneth Davis
Nice place to walk/run/people watch. Also from this location you will observe how our walkways, railways, and highways intersect.
Fay Johnston
Is amazing what has been built for the city and it's people. The maintenance of it is out of this world. I highly suggest volunteering to help out keep the banks fresh and clean - there's always something to do - if you're looking to give back to the community. Thank you!!
Donald Keyes
The night time ambience is very welcoming a few stray runners and joggers after eight p.m. some areas need lite bulb changes to enhance the atmosphere freight trains rolling thru at times low level of mosquitoes to deal with
Nelson Post
A cool urban park along the "little river" in center city Philadelphia. Its 4 blocks from my apartment. I go their every week. An excellent example of local politicians funding quality of life programs for ALL citizens
Anil Bhushan
Amazing place for eveing walk, jog, lying around doing nothing and enjoying the beauty of nature. ❤
Alexander Santayana
Enjoying this riverside park is one of my favorite things to do in Philadelphia. You can pick-nick, jog, bike, watch regattas, lounge in a hammock, find free events like techno parties and yoga, dip your feet in the rock garden and so much more. <3
Christina Wesley (Tina)
Nice trail. Relaxing
Pete Omeed
They say all we have in Phila is a river and a musim...l don't tend to agree with it, but here's our river...the best place to get some fresh air and exercise
Keith Johnston
I walk. Talk with my friend. Meet other people but not many. Most people are into working out. Running, biking, walking or skating. Its a great atmosphere for meditation, reading and of course excersize.
C Banks
The views are great, the space is fantastic, the people seem pretty nice... What more could you ask for. Especially, while waiting for a sunset.
Jenna McBride
My most favorite way to get to work! Love the ability to bike ride safely and get away from the hustle and bustle. I look forward to further expansions of the trail!
Aida Smith
Views are fantastic and just a great place to get a run or walk. There has been so many changes, for the better, around the entire area. ..and it's basically safe.
Renee Badeau
I pass by there on my way to ⛪ every Sunday morning and it looks so beautiful every day when we drive by going to cherryhill were my ⛪ is located at it's a nice friendly place to go walk around so u can stay in shape for yourself as a person.
Kishor Pulagam
Good place for morning or evening walk. Many people come here for doing their daily exercise.
Kelita Buchanan
Serenity. Nature. Peace. Happiness. Walk the trail for fitness and reflection. Love this environment. The Cosmic Cafe totally ROCKS!
Blair Wright
Nice walk/run/ride along the river with a few places to sit and watch the world go by. The views are not the best but it has some charm and it seems like a safe place.
Michael Macfeat
Philadelphians should be proud that the city created a beautiful walkway out of of grimy and once dangerous strip along the Schuylkill River. It is ideal place to walk your dog.
Russ Selkirk
Nice that they extended the trail, this is handy for students too, but as a cyclist, I really love going along the water here, it's a diamond in the rough. They are eventually extending it further as well.
Brian McCarthy
This is a great trail to run, walk or ride on. It goes quite a ways and you can get a good workout on it. It runs along the river and there is good scenery all around it.
Clint Rosario
Philly's done a great job making this part of the river a beautiful park. Super accessible, as it's on the trail, and stairways to most major street level roads.
adam mglynn
Whoever runs it should be fired. No working fountains, no working power ports ( there are several ) they are too LAZY to open the restrooms. Terrible management. What a shame one incompetent person can ruin a beautiful park.
Niv Sri
Love this place!! Beautiful views and lots of active and motivated people on the trail!
Tracy Berry
Good place to walk, run or ride your bike 🏍. …
Francine Baran
What a beautiful place to jog. Philadelphia is great. Love the food scene. Make sure you get the gelato. Beats out the gelato in Italy!
William Wrighson
Beautiful place to go to when you need a nice quiet 🤫 place to think about things including 🤔 events and making decisions about life and direction. …
Jossy
Really nice place for a walk/run. Pet friendly
Jennifer Pforte
My husband and I have been biking here for years and out of the whole city of Philadelphia, this is the prettiest ride. Do the loop down Kelly Drive by Boathouse Row, the Art Museum, Waterworks Restaurant, and a Skatepark. We stop to rest on a bench on the grass right in front of the Scuckill river, then take a stroll to watch dogs of all sizes play at the dogpark. On Sundays you can do yoga in a class on the grass (just bring a mat) We finish our ride back to the car up West River Drive which is lined with trees, and often stop on a lookout over the man - made fish bridge and dam on the river, where you can sometimes watch the college students race on rowboats past Boathouse Row in Regattas. Wear your Fitbit and bring a packed lunch, and you couldn't ask for a more relaxing and enjoyable day

Ever-expanding public greenway from Art Museum to South St. / Christian Street following the tidal Schuylkill River below the Fairmount Dam. Future plans call for an extension south of Christian Street to the Grays Ferry Crescent & Swing Bridge to Bartram's Mile. Multiuse paved trail wends its way along the once-industrial banks now a lush corridor linking neighborhoods (Grad Hosp/Fitler Sq), cultural destinations (Bartram's Garden/ Art Museum) and transit (30th St./Spruce+Pine bike lanes.) No better way to get a cross section of this city than by tracing its famed Schuylkill River.
Brett Forsythe
