Reviews of Lorimer Park
One of the better parks and trails available for FREE in the city but it's not the best. It's clean, you can have a picnic they have a seating and BBQ area down below off of the trails. Plenty of free parking available. There could be improvements made by adding more trash cans and a restroom or 2 along the trail but I also understand why they don't do such things. Overall it's a nice place to take a long walk or hike/trail safely inside of the confines of the city.
Thanks to all the reviewers because this park is worth it. Enjoyed the trail tremendously. Took hubby and kids out on Father's Day 2022 and it was fabulous and peaceful. Hubby isn't a huge walker but he enjoyed it and wants to return. The pics shown are right on. First thing upon park entrance we seen the geese swimming and when returning to parking lot we seen them walking on grass and of course my son believed he could walk up and pet them. We had beautiful weather, shade, seating and great landmarks. We will make this our go to place. Many people having picnics, fishing, playing in water, excercising or just relaxing. Tons of families there. No loudness at all. Found a shady parking space too. The first tree after parking lot was cool and looks like it should have signs on it. You'll see it in the pics. Thanks to everyone who left a review and posted pics. Hope this helps another newbie. Definitely worth it!!!
Love it here always have very clean and nice park great trails for hiking and exploring. Nice bike/walking path. A cool cliff you can get onto easily and look over the park. Nice creek for fishing. Picnic area for parties. And a nice size lawn for soccer and other activities.
It's a beautiful park. It is very clean. And they have working, clean, toilet paper and soap stocked bathrooms with running water. Amazing place for a walk, picnic, or just a day out on nature. It's a Wonderful Park, just keep you dog and pets at home. 🤗 …
A quiet peaceful cycle ride thru the trail over the Boy Scout bridge by the creek. Hike the upper trail to a small overlook on one of the cliffs. Plenty of picnic tables to enjoy a family meal with clean rest rooms available.
One of the best parks to visit within a reasonable driving distance from Philadelphia. It's clean, has a restroom, it's big, and nature both lives here and visits while passing through the area.
We go here all the time. Pennypack park is a great place to hike, bike and picnic. We don’t picnic there, but they have barbecues and tables.
I love this place. Highly recommend to walk with your family, friends, dogs.
There is forest part that you can visit with you dog and it has a amazing view.
Very clean, people around making: bike, walking, picnic (picnic area - no dogs).
Dog needs leash for safety all the time, the park is very big and if your dog does response to your call it's better to prevent.
Please be kind respectful with the nature always pick up your trash👍🌿🍃 if your nature lover, you will love it this park.
Highly recommend 💯👌
Beautiful park tucked away in montco. Great trails, really beautiful views. Picnic tables and fire pits and grills. Beautiful and enjoyable all year.
This is a hidden gem of a park, known mostly by local residents. Many were there to picnic, but the special part are the up and down trails through the length of the park.
For those more interested in flater walks, the Pennypack Heritage Trail runs along the edge of the park. A great example of Rails to Trails.
One of my fav place to connect with nature, exercise and make outstanding pictures.
Such a great little park with a big field and hill for the kids to run and play on. They have a little hiking area to climb up the cliffs to see above everything. If you don't want to do that, they have a flat walking path on the side you can walk or bike on. Really pretty view in spring and summer and beautiful colors of fall there. I havnt been there in winter really so can't really say for that.
A Quiet area,a picnic area,a dog park overlooking the creek.some walking trails .
Celebrated my son's birthday here over the weekend, had a great time! Kids had plenty of room to run and play, picnic area was very well maintained, even invited the rangers over for some bbq. Love this place and would recommend it to anyone!!
A beautiful, popular, and diverse topography park. The parking lot is across the road from main park entrance. Busy on weekends. From parking lot you can go on the Perkiomen trail (on Left if you are facing main road) or Right down a trail into Lorimer park and near Pennypack/Lorimer trail.
The main park (across the street) has covered picnic tables and restrooms. Some people like to cross the bridge and climb up on the big rock. There is a rustic dirt woodland trail behind the rock.
You can also go to the Pennypack-Lorimer 5 mi trail from the main park as well as from the parking lot. Facing the bridge before the rock go Right and follow the paved trail. You’ll eventually see a sign for the 5 mi loop. Hope I didn’t confuse you!
WE LOVE THIS PARK BECAUSE MY FAMILY 👪 EVERYBODY HAPPY 😃 …
Well kept trails with great views and some good hills if you're game. Shade or Sun if you want. Great place to tire out your pups (leashes required). Different trails and directions to choose from to keep things fresh.
Great moderate hilly trails that wind into quiet woods... can climb on rocks and roots (from beginner to advanced). Awesome views from rock outcropping. Nice creek with bridge. Saw some baby geese! Places to grill. No dogs in the grilling and climbing area. Dogs okay on the other side that connects to Pennypack Park.
It appears that the trails and the park are safe. I can walk alone. The park employees are out and about. The rangers police the trails. Great peaceful place.
Park is pretty cool... Has a few trails, a creek, open field and RESTROOMS which are super important for a day outdoors! Take a picture by the bridge, the crazy cliff and the cabin. Super cute place, awesome for the photographer 😜. …
There is free parking. (Make sure to read the sign and see what time the gate is locked). The park is beautiful and well maintained.
Absolutely awesome park in the neighborhood. We went off the trails on the map. We saw a couple's bark painting on a hill, a well-balanced shrine near a small creek, some unknown fungus on a tree stump, and a resting yellow-fur fox that got scared away by us. I'd recommend this park for everyone.
The few people who were also walking rhe trails were polite and kept social distance. The park is clean and a ranger was seen driving through to make sure everything was ok.
A really nice park with beautiful landscapes. Places to walk that are mostly flat, as well as steeper and rockier sections to scale if you want more of a challenge. Nice creek running through it, and dogs are allowed on one side (the side with the parking lot). The lot does fill up fairly easily during popular days/times, so just be mindful of that.
This park was a pleasant surprise. I recently started hiking up in the mountains and purchased a pair of hiking boots, I came to Lorimer park to break them in a bit before going on a serious hike with them. I expected some simple paved loops but nothing really challenging. I was pleasantly surprised by the moderate level of difficulty, we didn't hike every trail here nor did we finish the full loop. Earlier in the day we did a 2 mile loop at another park so we cut our loop at Lorimer short. That said access to the trails was straight forward, and aside from the longer point to point pennypack trail there is one nice sized loop in the park plus a few other trails that intersect with it (which allow you to cut it shorter or provide more areas to explore). The hiking is great and the immersion into nature is even better. Just watch out for bikes as it seems to be popular and they come wizzing by often.
Great park with a ton of parking. Hiking, biking, fishing, birding, it has it all, including the bathroom. Park Rangers are visible and willing to assist!
Lorimer is an exceptional state park that is well maintained. Its amenities include barbecue grills, benches, water fountains, bathrooms, an activity center, and a few fire pits. The staff that maintains this park are very hands-on and are attentive to every guests needs. It has exceptional views and very good hiking trails that are slightly challenging. Throughout the park you are bound to encounter deer, fish, tortoises, snakes, frogs, and tadpoles. This park provides the perfect setting for young children to learn how an ecosystem works. I have been here several times and have always found something new to see and do. From several of the state parks that are close to the Philadelphia area this is hands-down one of the better ones. Do yourself a favor and put it on your list of state parks to visit this summer.
Great 👍 scenery. Fun trails to walk 🚶♀️🚶♂️ . Different lengths and levels of difficulty. Nothing impossible but challenging 💪🏾 enough to make it a good 👍 workout 💪🏾. It is fun for the kids 😀 as well. …
This is the best park in Philly. Far nicer than Pennypack, IMHO. There are tons of picnic tables and fire pits, which can get busy on nice days, but the real magic can be found on the other side of the stream, on the trails and boulders around the park. Rock climbers like me enjoy some hidden, and some not-so-hidden, bouldering spots. There are bathrooms in the park. The parking lot is closed promptly at sundown (5pm in the winter) so don't be late back to your car! If you think you might be coming out late, park on the street up the hill, just be super careful walking down the road because it has no sidewalk.
As a hiker, if you can't get out to the mountains, this is your best local bet! A nice cliff to climb up. The trails can either be steeper for those of us who want more semblence of a mountain hike, OR they can be soft and flatter for those who just want to walk and enjoy! Fishing, picnic area, a railtrail, just something for everyone in the family! I even saw a wedding shoot being done on the bridge leading to the cliff once!
love it for cycling and hiking
Georgeous. There are some paved trails, some gravel, meadows, steep and flat trails too. Also some good fishing holes. You can easily take advantage of everything here and be here for hours, especially if you enjoy going off of the beaten path. The park is right on the border of Monto and Philadelphia County, so you can easily cross into Pennypack, where there is a beautiful dog park.
What a great place it is!!! You can walk on smooth surfaces or slightly more hilly paths. The 300-million-year rock is beautiful, just majestic.
A great park to take a walk in or to get yourself in shape for hiking season. Plenty of hills to go up n down. Has a bike path made out of packed gravel that goes from Rockledge to Byberry Rd. in Huntingdon Valley. Enough wildlife to keep you interested. Pennypack creek runs thru here and is stocked with trout. Picnic tables a pavilion open hearth fire for cooking. Historical points of interest and a ranger station. Bathrooms right here n port a potties at parking lots. Fun things for the kids on the calender. Also right next to Fox Chase Farm n across Pine Rd. is Pennypack Park in Philly.
Good for biking, hiking, running, walking, and relaxing. There are benches throughout the trail. Nice trail. Nice scenery.
The park is part of a trail system that goes for miles and features many beautiful natural views.
Excellent place for a hike or bike ride.
Another favorite park!! Great place to take the family...Autumn is a beautiful time for those who like taking photos!
Beautiful park with really nice park rangers and some decent fishing for the little ones.
Great park, used to go here a lot as a kid, I'm originally from Northeast Philly and live in Bucks County now. Although the complexion of the park has changed quite a bit since I was a kid(I'm 60) the park still looks the same. It's still a fun park to experience and be outside. Lots of foreign languages being spoken bring your multiculturalism.
Awesome park for everyone, especially my kids love it. Good for bike riders and everyone who wants and needs some peace😍Very clean and super spacious …
Always outstanding, clean bathroom and water fountain that works
Always beautiful!
Great place for short or long trails!
Great scenery during the walk on the trails
Also a great BBQ area with roof!!!
Tummy said 5 star yummy
Awesome place to bike, just about 10 miles of perfect trails for the novice to intermediate rider. Perfect for walking your dog or taking a long lazy walk with a friend and just enjoying the scenery. A few good places to fresh water fish...at the proper time of year.
Great park to ride a bike, from beginning to end is about 13 miles. The surface if fine packed gravel, there's bike tools along the trail
Most beautiful trails in the area! And great views as well: especially during peak foliage!
This park is in the midst of Pennypack park that stretches across NE Philadelphia approximately 8 miles from the Start from Pine Rd. to Delaware River.(Great hiking and bike trail) Definitely a hidden gem if you never been. The creek flows all the way through the Delaware River.
Please Let the Flowers be!
Clear signage at Lorimer Park NOT to pick the beautifully curated flowers. The woman below collected flowers (in left hand), ignoring the request. When gently reminded of the sign, she responded "this isn't private property. Mind your own business." Well, community parks are all of our "business." Shall we remove the park trash cans because we like their shape? Cut down the trees because we need wood? Your sense of entitlement is shameless!
Nice place. Plus you can start bike ride from Masons Mill Park at Pennypack Trail Byberry rd to the end of Pennypack so it's like 10 mile on one way. It is good to have trail like this and so close.
Great place to walk the dogs. The trails are well maintained, somewhat hilly and mostly in the woods.
This is a terrific park with convenient parking, a large picnic area, trails to walk, a small campground and, bet of all, Pennypack Creek, a place I love to take Normie (the little black dog in the video and picture below) to on really hot, muggy, Philadelphia summer days. He even learned to swim there. Now, I realize that you are not supposed to let dogs off leash, but there is this little area down and off to the side of the trail a ways where you can let them wade. The water seems pretty clean and wading in the creek is a great way to cool down for we humans, too. Happy Summer.
Very clean and nice trail and picnic area I highly recommend visiting if looking for an easy family friendly area to hike or just to enjoy the outdoors.
Amazing trail, bridges and views! Bass galore! Lots of pretty rocks and shells too!! Loved the river ❤️
Only a short drive away, but the setting is transportive and makes you feel like you are far away in the mountains. An easy sylvan walk along the stream with many benches which offer serene rest points. The path is dog-friendly as well. A lovely constitutional which we will enjoy again!
Great hike from the dog park on the other side
Great for hiking, walking, fishing, cookouts and family gatherings. Absolutely beautiful area, big parking lot (with strict hours), multiple trails in different directions. Great for a day out in nature, and great fishing.
Clean friendly and a nice peaceful space. The cleanest bathrooms anywhere on the trails.
Great trails and scenery. However, do not get in the stream, a ranger told us it was the equivalent of toilet water.
This park has picnic tables both out in the open and under pavilion. There are some charcoal grills. There are rest room facilities close to picnic area. Many trails in the park. Some trails are easier to follow than others. Creek runs through park that appears to be popular for fishing. The park is also adjacent to the Pennypack trail. There is parking available; most parking, except for handicapped parking is across the street from the park, with cross walk to the park.
Quiet and well maintained park. Beautiful vistas, diverse landscape.
This was the second time
I have used this park's path to come back and forth to work and made it so much more simpler & safer compared to trying to ride your bike on the bike lanes in the streets or roads cars and other vehicles just don't pay attention to people on bikes
it's pretty sad if you ask me
Plus throughout the spring, summer and fall
I like to try to save and conserve energy by not having to use a vehicle
and bike riding is great for your health too!
Beautiful and quiet place far away from the city noise
An excellent place for lunch with friends and for barbecue, but on the weekend of course noisy
Great for family all 4 seasons, clean well kept, park rangers are always around since it is a manageable size. Best park around and nearest to NE Philly. Long bike trails Penny Pack connects to this park, if you have not been here, what takes you so long?!?!
Variety of trails from Philly to flat. Great scenery and friendly people
Beautiful place to walk or bike through.
The trails are marked for hikers on foot or if you have a horse.
If you follow the trail you can bike or hike to the Delaware River.
Great park with a bunch of trails to explore. Dog friendly, as long as your furry friend is kept on a leash.
This park is simple. I hate the parking it's weird . And the park ranger wasn't dog friendly and I have a chiuahaha . Other then that wasn't bad no playground beautiful creek views and plenty of spots to sit .
Beautiful and peaceful place to enjoy the nature.
It is a beautiful park with lovely hiking/walking trails next to the creek. I love walking looking at the creek, trees and just enjoying nature.
Home of South of Scotland side Nithsdale Wanderers. Great set up. Good clubhouse with canteen and bar.
Great escape in Montgomery County!
Beautiful park. Clean. Nice place to walk yourself, with a friend or with your pet.
Beautiful park, penny pack on fox chase is shaking i fear
Kids love climbing the rocks! The view is beautiful and trail is easy. One thing l really like about this park is you get meadow, rock climbing and river all in one place. Watch out for horse poo on some back trails, we encountered a few.
One of the best places for picnicking and just to relax....clean place...beautiful nature...many many geese...clean water...children can bathe...loved this park
This place is awesome, nice river hills to climb and great views
Beautiful for meditative walks and a great place for the family.
Great place to walk, bike, be with nature. Bring dog, bring family!
Great place! I want to go back every Sunday. Great trails, safety on site and lots of space for the whole family!!
Very peaceful and pretty.
Nice quiet park in the spring. Fairly smooth trails for walking and biking, packed down with sand gravel, some have asphalt. It has parking lot, is handicapped accessible, has picnic tables and a covered pavilion.
Went biking on the main trail. Good parking. Very clean. Mostly flat. Well taken care of. A food area about a mile from the north (?) end. There are some alternate trails but that’s for next time. From end to end and back was about 15 miles.
Absolutely love this park. Plenty of scenic hiking options, great picnic area, as well as a good trail for work-out runs. One of my favorite things to do, however, is grab some swimwear and wade up the creek (though it's a little frowned upon). Very pleasant and picturesque experience, especially on a hot day.
Very clean and well kept park. Nice trails to walk or ride bike. Kids love this park, lots of fun at a winter time when it’s snowing you can sled down the hill.
Love it here. A nice green oasis in the city. Saturdays are very crowded typically.
Very neat and clean picnic area, the river and rocks are awesome! 5 stars!
Have not seen whole park yet, but does have nice trails (some challenging! )
Went there for a Hike and Prayer with a group from church. Lovely and refreshing experience I may say. Nice place to just spend with family/friends hiking, for a pinic, or just sitting and enjoying our father's great creation.
Great park with plenty of trails. Nicely maintained as the restrooms were clean and operational.
Beautiful serene park. The trails are great with many benches scattered throughout to just sit, relax and enjoy the view. Certain areas close to the water have a fence erected which is great if your walking the trails with kids. There's still plenty places where you can easily walk down down a slight incline and be in the water with the geese, ducks and little fishys. I also deeply appreciate how clean the bathroom is near the park Rangers station!!!
Great place for a walk, close to bike trail.
Amazing view in winter season. So beautiful and cute.
Nice, place to spent time with family. The workers so nice. Keep it clean please. Take your trash 🗑 at the end. They even provide to you trash bags and they have trash containers. …
My family and I love this park! We host birthday parties here, graduations, BBQs, you name it! The park rangers are super friendly and always are checking on you and making conversation. The trails lead to some beautiful views, you might come across a horse or two.
Great park for family outings, walks, hikes, etc. plus the Pennypack creek offers great, local trout fishing!
It has nice track for cyclest and waker.
Nice peaceful walk along the trails on a sunny day was good for the disposition.
Wonderful place to hike and enjoy nature
For cyclists, this may be the gateway to Philadelphia's Pennypack Park and Northeast Philly: it connects Montgomery County's Pennypack Trail to those areas of the city. For others, though, it is a pleasant place to walk beside a (yesterday, at least) quiet stream, or picnic, or play. There are several signs, "Dogs not allowed", but that only applies to the "Activity area" and picnic grounds. (I didn't realize this, and avoided the park for decades, thinking that I could not walk my dog there for some reason.)
The trail along the creek is an easy trail, and pleasant, as I said above, but it is a little disconcerting to be looking across the stream into the backyards of the houses that abut the stream. It is early spring, if spring at all, and so perhaps in a month or two the foliage, the leaves, will make that a little less shocking. As it is, my wife and I laughed at the idea of someone sitting quietly on one of the trailside benches, enjoying the view of laundry, flapping in the breeze. (Disclaimer: we saw no laundry yesterday, save in our imaginations.)
Great place to walk around for the whole family. Theres even handicapable trails through here! There's a few parking lots with many spots so it doesn't get over crowded very easily.
Very well manicured and a stark contrast to pennypack just across pine road which I don't think I'll frequent as much anymore. The mtb trails all link and I think they are better and this park.
Very friendly folks, park staff and families leaving the nonsense behind.
Excellent area to walk, bike, horseback riding. Great nature spot too. The Pennypack trail which runs through the park is a crushed stone wide path. Used to be a single track RR Newtown to Philadelphia. Now a rail trail. Flat, level, solid, and wide. Restrooms are open in the park as well. Handicapped parking available by the Ranger station.
Love this place! My family usually stay here on weekend- my wife draws here!
Walking the hilly terrain here provides not only a great walk, but great scenic views as well!
You have a choice of paved and unpaved trails through wooded hills and along the Pennypack Creek. The picnic area is nice, with maintained restrooms. Don't miss hiking to the top of Council Rock and taking in the scenery.
Nice park for quick hike with kids or bike ride. Also they have a great hill for sledding when there is decent amount of snow. Kids loved it and if they like it, I like it.
This park is beautiful, peaceful and a easy hike. A gem in the city.
Great for families and all ppl and Clean,
My kids loves the ducks.
Beautiful place. Had a fire pit area by the river and plenty of places to sit and eat.
They have several trails. Pennypack trail is nice and flat for bike riding. It has a restroom, some covered picnic tables, and a fire pit. Pennypack Creek runs through it, and one of the trails leads right into Fox Chase Farm.
Such a hidden gem!! I cannot believe I've lived in this area all my life and only managed to discover Lorimer Park this year. This park is breathtakingly beautiful and immaculately kept. Not crowded at all, and is the perfect place to go and play, or just to sit and think! My favorite place to go and get away from it all.
Beautiful trails to walk or bike with your family. There's even a nice post to stop at and grab a bite half way through Pennypacktrail. Nice areas to hike as well. My children loved it here
Such a great dog park! Split into 2 separate spaces (under 25 pounds and over) with plenty of space to run in the over 25 section. Our greyhound also loves to choose to walk through the water section instead of taking the bridge to cool off when we enter and exit.
My go to place for exercise and walks. Challenging uphill prior to the exit! Great atmosphere but make sure you use anti tick spray just to be safe.
Love this park! I have been coming here since before it was open. Gets a little crowded during the weekends on the main path but there are plenty of trails to explore. Espically at the South end of the park near the farm you can catch some great sunsets.
This has to be one of the most underrated parks in the state. There are wooded trails, the Pennypack Creek, picnic areas, a covered bridge and of course, the Council Rock which is absolutely stunning. If you're a photographer, you will feel like you've died and gone to heaven. There are so many awesome things to point your camera at and shoot. Definitely worth visiting, can't wait to visit again in the autumn and winter.
This is an excellent park to bring the family. We like hiking up the hills and see the water. During Spring and Autumn season it’s a very attractive spot for an outing. We will always be back. Recommended.
Beautiful park, quite large so careful not to get lost! Haha. Only complaint is the growing amount of teenagers that smoke, drink, and litter in this park. Although I've only seen them after sunset, when the park is closed, or at least the trail is.
Lorimer is great. There's several miles of trail in the park. The overlook rock is a cool spot. There's access to the rail-trail which extends in both directions from Lorimer.
This place is beautiful. There is a parking lot across the street and up the hill. You can cross the beautiful bridge and climb up the Rocky Mountain. And it's a beautiful area that is part of the Pennypack Park Trail. You can fish in the Stream during the Spring but you should have a Pennsylvania issued fishing license. It's a great place to get photos done I think it would be really great for wedding photos. And there's even places to build bonfires and have picnics. Watch out for the geese they might chase you.
I adore this park! The path up to the rocks that looks over the river is just breathtaking! It's a great place for inner city people to not be so far away from the city but to still get that outdoor feel!
Beautiful park with trails for walking, hiking, and running. It is clean and seems safe. We will definitely be visiting again and recommend others to as well if you enjoy nature!
This park has been one of my favorite places to go for years. I love bringing my camera there to capture the beauty of nature. There are many trails and some old and beautiful trees to get lost in.
Beautiful park, super green, lots of trees, birds, water ponds, and nice area with tables and barbecue public grills. Recommended
I really enjoyed the park. It reminds me of Valley Green, a park that I've biked through for years.
Quiet, lovely and clean. Great place to hike!
An absolutely gorgeous park. It’s clean and not crowded. It has many trails which I have yet to explore. It’s absolutely breathtaking in the fall.
Love this place..
Beautiful park in a somewhat ritzy section of Philly. It’s part of the Pennypack trail system and is in an area where there are lots of gorgeous trails. Not so much a picnic type of park, more a hiking or maybe biking park. Trails run near Pennypack creek and the scenery is beautiful. Some trails are really steep so a good place to start is the Pennypack extension trail or the regular Pennypack trail near Pine Ave.
Very good area and nice guard stuff
Attended a Boy Scout event. Lots of space for a bbq
Great little park with picnic tables, and hanging cliffs. Not very good for bike riding since it's small, but there is a bike path that runs through it, and will take you to Pennypack Park.
Growing up I spent countless hours in this park. It is a great place to visit in any season, we used to go fishing in the summer and sledding in the fall. They used to have a fire in a trash can at the top of the sledding hill, but I think that is longer the case. If you live near Lorimer and do not use it regularly you are doing yourself a disservice.
Nice trails, nice rock formations, & clean. Great for walking, bike riding, & picnics. Non busy days seems to have enough parking, but closes at sunset.
I love this park. You would forget that you are anywhere near a major metropolis. Lormier is my nature filled escape with an endless array of plants, animals, landscapes and shady places to find peace in our increasingly crazy world.
Beautiful park. Great place to relax or explore
Delightful park with much wildlife seen: deer, fox, mallard ducks, wood duck, owl, and a basking painted turtle. I started walking from Pennypack on Pine Rd. Along the creek, adjacent to the farm where 5 newly born calves were in the fields with their mothers. Walked along a smooth trail shared with bicycles and horses (rule is to always yield to horses). The trail is situated between a rocky hillside and the creek. I saw a few teens on bikes, a few other hikers, and a half dozen fishermen. Everyone was pleasent and nodded or said hello as I passed. Very enjoyable walk into Montgomery County's Park.
Great place for a hike!
Easy to find, good parking, nice walking trails along a creak. Also has picnicking area. Dogs allowed in most of the park except in picnic area.
Great place to bike trails, hike with the family, and enjoy a picnic at the pavilions on Moredon Rd. The water trail is beautiful and relaxing.
The Parks and Rec department are kind and helpful.
Love this park for family bbq. We enjoy fishing there with my son. We also love walking n riding the trails. We seen deers, foxes, chipmunks n a rooster. Loved the scenery n natural nature
If you have never been here ur missing out on a beautiful place to visit, there is a very nice bike n walking path that runs a good distance in either direction, threw the woods along the water n across train tracks, there is places to barbuque, also a rugged trail that will take you to the top of a cliff that you will be able to look out it some of the park from up top, bathrooms are also on site, plenty parking available, you will want to come back again, I never get tired of this park n my kids love this place to climb, get wet, bike ride or just exploring.
Very nice and clean park to do picnics. Park rangers are nice and always helpful. Everytime we go there there are ton of families with kids and they a having a good time.
Quiet and serene. A great place to get away from it all. My dog 🐕 loves ❤ it too! …
The Rangers there are very helpful and kind and do all they can do to make your event possible and as wonderful as it can be
Beautiful park with an on site ranger and the pennypack trail adjacent to it. Just be aware the ranger locks the parking gates every night and opens at 7. I saw some deer here Labor Day weekend.
Great place for walk. You can go by the river on nice gravel pace originally it was Old Septa track from Fox Chase farm to Newtown which been removed at least 30 years ago. Cosy on w/e dates ..
Locking the gates is the problem for the trail users.
Nice place to do sports like baseball or frisbee or even Golf their awesome 9 hole course or teach a child there. They have a fishing pond and snack and soda machines as well as many other things. Clean but you MUST BE A RESIDENT and SHOW YOUR ID!
Beautiful park with super trails. Nice restroom facilities near the ranger station.
Beautiful place to hike right in your back yard. Very close to Philadelphia and you feel like your miles away. Please remember carry out what you carry in thanks.
This park is well kept and beautiful might I add there was a wedding party taking pics too. The park rangers are pleasant...I even fell asleep out there while others visited the park. A very comfortable place.
Awesome place to hike or fish for trout
Really nice clean and organized picnic facilities. Secluded with access to Creek, on duty park rangers, bathrooms, fire pits, pavilions. Plenty of open ground for games and trails for hiking.
Great place to walk or ride your bike.
Our grade school took us here on field trips, which are some of my fondest memories. I still remember seeing chipmunks here for the first time! It's far superior to Philly's filthy parks. There is often a police car or two in the parking lot when it's crowded, which makes us feel safe. You will never see a cop car in Philly's Pennypack park, but you will see plenty of junkies, drug dealers, and other criminals.
Great place to go for a stroll, walk, or picnic. Plenty of room for your kids to run around and get all that extra energy out!
Very pretty, clean&safe,Sooo green, nice variety of things to see along trail..cows, swallows, Fox Chase Farm, open fields, hills&flats, creek.
I thought there was a dog park here, I couldn’t find it. The trails are nice, had a nice walk but really wanted a large fenced in area to let my dog run. If there is a dog park how do you get to it?
Great place for a run, bike ride or just to hike
Beautiful park! Well maintained with flush toilets and sinks with water!! Picnic area with tables and grill. All with amazing views and trails.
Skip the rail trail and walk thru the park! Its lovely and no mud
It is a wonderful park, sandwiched in Montgomery County. Bike and walking paths. Pretty hilly if you enter the actual park. A nice stream meanders through.
Beautiful park, wonderful place to bring kids, great trails to get some excersise on, and beautiful scenery. Totally recommend checking it out!
Great place to walk the dog and let him run off Leash in the field. Nice clean park love that the path is along the creek.
Beautiful!!!!!!! Great for running, walking or even just to take pictures. The views are breathtaking.
Amazing area. I loved it here its peaceful. Nice scenery water creeks different sections it is a good walking place great park.
Love taking the dogs here. Great trails through the woods and the cows are always fun to see. Very popular park for dogs!
Is beautiful and fantastic nature.
Love this Park...cool to explore:)
Very nice park. Well maintained. Large picnic area with tables. Some good walking trails.
Convenient, decent parking, nice mix of level trails and steep climbs, open to hikers, cyclists, and horse riders. Pleasant creek, and adjacent to Fox Chase farm.
Great 5.25 miles trail... As an added not: there are new postings that for next few Saturdays of Nov and the begin of December the trail will be closed.
Very nice walking trails!
Awesome place for a walk, jog, run, bike whatever suits your fancy. Great wide trails, good scenery.
Amazing spot for some Photography.
Love these trails, the shades areas are cool and beautiful to walk under and we love taking our pups there too.
Wonderful walking trails and the huge Council Rock, along with a footbridge and covered bridge. Also there's access to the Pennypack Trail. The Pennypack Rail Trail goes right through the park and continues to the Pennypack reserve and beyond
Best place for family's and children. Clean safe n friendly
Perfect picnic spot, with space for people to walk, play games, outdoor cooking and nature trail.

Run here at least once a week.
Love this park. Great for walking cycling. Absolutely beautiful.
Beautiful and peaceful place !
No trash bucket in all park.Parking for cars is very far from the place of rest. The entrance is always closed is not very convenient to carry things.
Just took my DOG there for the first time, she loved it, we loved it, will defiantly be making it a regular place to go hiking with the dog and the baby when it arrives!

Very beautiful place
Clean Park with lots of climbing and hiking available.
Great place for a family friendly relaxing day!
really love this park! plenty of space for a weekend picnic and very nice rangers.
arrival by car to the park is closed, there is not enough playground for children, and there are no garbage cans near the tables (((. and so the park is very beautiful
Great park. Super clean, great sights. Perfect for exercise or to just take a walk.
Wooded trails for hiking, running and biking. Fishing in the Pennypack Creek is popular. Lorimer Park has many fewer people in the park than the adjacent Pennypack Park.
Nothing against dogs but it’s nice to come to park that does not allow them. It makes it much more likely you will see wildlife
Great open field for the kids to run, play soccer, or sit on a blanket. Pavillions get a little crowded but everyone is nice. Diverse population
Peaceful with beautiful scenery. A wonderful picnic area with working bathrooms, a water fountain, and on-duty rangers to answer questions.
Always clean. The park rangers and custodian (sanitation engineer), does an awesome job. Love when they have a fire going.
GREAT BUT BEWARE.......
Great FLAT wide walking path of packed concrete (not asphalt), maintained, clean, park benches, doogie cleanup materials and trashcans, portapotty at the Philmont end, signage, scenery, waterview, etc, etc, etc...nice place for recreation on the path and in the park, HOWEVER>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
there are TICKS all over from the deer herd. Use caution because LYME DISEASE is a real thing. I will not go into this park any longer with my dog for this reason, sadly. Deer ticks and Lyme disease are a problem in all parks with deer populations in this area. BEWARE.
Very clean and beautiful park with a nice long trail to walk/bike/run
Very peaceful park, great for walks. It has a very nice picnic area.
Hot day, benches placed periodically, shaded areas, pleasant walkers, courteous bike riders.
