This is a great REI! The staff were very helpful when we wanted to look at a few things that were behind glass cases and giving advice on what was best to get and when to purchase it. There was a great deal to look through in this location and they had a wide variety of items to choose from. I would recommend joining REI co-op for sure if you are at all outdoor inclined. They are a great company and they have some of the best outdoor equipment while being a great employer!

Like an adult kid in a freaking candy store, how the heck do I stop myself when in a REI?!? While this REI is the closest to my home, it is still over an hour's drive away (when will you come to Tulsa, REI?!?) Anyways, fantastically stocked with all the items one might want/need for a multitude of outdoor activities, and super friendly/knowledgeable staff. I was happy to find brands I thought only online, and to my surprise bike nutrition was on sale? That never happens with my LBS('s). I walked out and the sun was setting, how long was I in there?

All REI stores are awesome. A store actually dedicated purely on the outdoor, like how could it not be awesome !!! But this one, without a doubt, is my favorite! Every single employee I interacted with from the bike dept to the show dept to the cashier was helpful and friendly which is something I’ve never experienced at any store of any kind anywhere in the country. I will def make this store my preferred store for all my outdoor gear!

Dakota was so helpful! I, my brother, and my dad came in to learn more about backpacking gear and Dakota walked us through tents, sleeping pads, and backpacks, fitting all three of us and answering all of our questions! Great experience, especially for us beginners.

REI had a great opening here in Oklahoma City and I'm glad to have them here! I won $100 gift card and there's a good chance I'll win at $500 one because I am very lucky. It's a very nice place with all of your outdoor needs. Obviously the store is quite expensive because it's an outdoor store. Very clean very friendly staff Right now they're selling pretty hard on the credit card but that's okay.

REI is the best place to buy tracking, hiking, cycling and travelling items. There are good quality mountain bikes sold here. They have all the necessary items for travelling. They have excellent quality bag pack, jackets, and camps. We bought national park annual pass here for 79.99$. The customer service was excellent .

I went in today with hopes I could find something to releive my foot pain, and Betty was above and beyond helpful! She got an imprint of my feet to figure out how my arches were doing and we found out i was pronating a lot from that. She then got a sizing for both the length and width of my feet. With that information, she then found me several different stability shoes and some super comfortable insoles. I walked out pain free!! Thank you Betty!!

I went here to find new hiking boots, as the ones I've had for years were NOT working for me. I came specifically to try on three different brands of boots that I had researched online. I have severe plantar fasciitis in one foot, and I was hoping to find boots that would make my hikes less miserable! The employee helping me, Sam, mentioned a brand that were not even on my radar; Sam said they might be a good fit for me with my issues, so I decided to give them a try. WOW!!! I would never have considered these boots, but I'm in LOVE! I recently did a 14-mile hike in one day, and that NEVER would have happened without having the right footwear. Thank you for recommending La Sportiva, Sam - they're perfect for me, and I greatly appreciate your help!

Have always loved this store. Recently, I asked for a gift card to REI for my birthday. I got it, and lost it. That was on Sept 18th… I called their customer service center, went through a short and easy process, and received my new gift card on Sept 24th. This place is solid all around.

If you ever want a good experience while shoe shopping, see this man. He will go above and beyond to assist you. I would hope store mgmt recognizes the gem they have in this employee. Came into the store today to look around. The lovely Garrett found me browsing. He was very knowledgeable and was willing to spend the extra time to explain all the details. He helped me get fitted for a hiking backpack, gave me amazing tent recommendations, and even more I learned a lot about sleeping systems. He also informed me the awesome benefits about becoming a member. I then went to checkout and met the fabulous Savannah. She was very sweet and friendly. Outstanding customer service!!! My girlfriend and I visited this store today to try on a few of their large internally framed packs. A gentleman named Brenden was helping us with the packs, he was very knowledgeable about each pack and the differences between each pack. Brenden patiently measured each of us for fit and stayed with us through all the packs we tried on even though a coworker approached him to ask if he was ready for his over due break. Hands down probably my favorite store in the world. I never walk out of the store empty-handed. High quality merchandise that does what it's meant to do and incredible service from the employees every time. On my last visit an employee was helping my daughter and I for over 2 hours. And the entire time she acted like we were the most important people in the world.

An awesome place to get all your gear whether you're a car camper, hiker, backwoods camper, rock climber or water sports enthusiast. They offer some of the best customer service and the experience is worth it's weight in gold. Not sure what type of pack you need? Get a free pack fitting. Not sure if you should go with a down or synthetic sleeping bag? No worries, they will help you figure it out. It's also a CO-OP so I'd suggest having a look at becoming a member. I've been one since 2012 and it's definitely paid for itself over and over again.

As someone that stands on their feet all day in their profession, I went in search of Hoka shoes that I'd heard help with support and things like that. Unfortunately, they didn't have the color of shoe I'd wanted to look at, but they did have the exact shoe. I purchased them after trying them on, and we will see if they help. If so, I will definitely purchase another pair.

Love this place! They sell great products and the staff are always so kind. A major plus is that they actually enforce the mask mandate – anti-maskers have very much so ripped this place apart when the employees asked them to simply put on a mask. It's not their fault that the citizens of OKC have fragile egos.

This was my first time to visit the new REI in Oklahoma City. All the staff was super friendly and helpful. My wife and I enjoyed looking around and checking out all the different brands. The OKC REI is not as big as Dallas or Kansas City. At least we finally have one in Oklahoma. Wish Tulsa would get one too.

I’ve waited years for OKC to get an REI and I can honestly say that our new REI is the bee’s knees. The staff is friendly and helpful, the store manager is awesome, and they put their money where their mouth is when it comes to the environment. They have a great product selection, knowledgable bike staff, a huge sock selection. When I asked if we were getting SUP items in for the spring they said they’d make a note with management and asked which items I was specifically interested in so that they could work on it.

REI is AMAZING. The staff is so knowledgeable, the gear is consistently durable, and they have great variety at the store and online. They really care about the health and safely of customers, too. Of course, one of the downsides of being located in Oklahoma is the disproportionally high number of loud, self-entitled rednecks yelling about “mUh RiGhTs”, never mind the fact that REI is a private business and have every right request that guests wear a mask. Don’t listen to those belligerent fools. REI team, you guys are all doing a wonderful job. :)

I love REI Co-op, and I was pretty stoked when this one opened. The few employees I talked to were generally very helpful, but lacked some experience so the specific advice I needed wasn't found here. However, it's still REI. Great gear selection, okay prices, and a great return policy.

I absolutely LOVE REI, but this location has really dropped the ball every time I’ve come in. On my first visit, they were completely out of men’s smalls in everything I looked at (and I looked at at least a dozen different jackets and shirts). Understandable, since it was a new location and might not have been well-stocked yet, but you’d think they’d have had time to get proper inventory considering how much hype there was behind the opening of this location. On my second visit, I was asked by six different employees if I was a member of the co-op. I had been for a few months, and after telling each employee as such, they all promptly ended the interaction. Three of these interactions took place within a minute, in the same department. It felt extremely disingenuous, and I could tell they had been told by their managers to work on getting more co-op registrations. On my third (and probably final) visit for the annual garage sale today, I wound up wasting $85 on a jacket that was mislabeled and misracked. It was labeled as a men’s medium, placed in the men’s Garage Sale section, and a quick try-on while squeezing past dozens of other people taking advantage of the sale indicated little more than it was a slimmer cut than I was used to (which was fine by me). I was a bit worried it wasn’t actually a men’s jacket so I tried to find an employee to double check, but in contrast to my previous visit, there was no one to be found. Once I got home, my girlfriend (who worked at an REI previously) confirmed that it was definitely a women’s cut, and that the tag had been mislabeled. Of course, all Garage Sale purchases are final, so I’m SOL on that. I was one of the first 30 or so people through the door, and there's no way another customer had time to take the jacket from the women's area and rerack with the men's clothing. If you’re a fan of REI and want to stay one, I would recommend waiting until you happen to be at one of their other locations to shop, at least until this one gets itself sorted out. I’ve never had any problems at the other REI locations I’ve been to. Update: I was able to get in touch with the manager after offering feedback through the REI website, and he was very understanding and helpful. He even offered to honor a return on the jacket, which was above and beyond what I expected. I’ve changed my original one star review to reflect that. Hopefully the issues I’ve run into can be chalked up to some of the kinks that’ll be worked out after a few months of being open, it seems like the store is being run by some good folks.

My wife and I picked up cycling as a hobby this past year and discovering OKC's bike trail system has been awesome! On our bikes trips, we enjoy visiting various bike shops and browsing accessories and we're so glad we visited REI and met Marty! He has been the most patient (we ask a lot of silly, beginner questions), used some of the best analogies to help us understand the mechanics of cycling, and his customer service skills are so top notch that we look forward to our visits! 👍🙌🚲

A great addition to Oklahoma City for all things outdoors, much to the delight of campers, hikers and runners. From assessories to apparels, you should be able to find what you need within their spacious and well-laid out store. There are several educational display for you to learn about or try a particular product, or simply find a staff to ask any questions you may have. REI goes beyond a sporting store as they advocate exploration and care of nature so that many more generations can enjoy the outdoor. UPDATE ABOUT THEIR APP The app is a great way to keep tap on offers and deals, which led me to making my first REI purchase online. However, the information related to product arrival and actual delivery caused quite a bit of confusion. When I finally got a notification that my order arrived at the store, the staff couldn't find it because the name on my account was not accurate, despite having spoken with a customer service rep weeks before to correct it. The customer service is good at resolving the issues but like any technology, there is always room for improvement.

I’ve always heard of this place but we’ve never had one in Oklahoma! Well now we do and it’s better than I ever expected. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable and willing to go out of their way to help you. I just spent three hours in the store and I wasn’t even able to look at everything. They offer a membership for $20, that’s for life, which gives you special access to sales and other offers. This also allows you to return stuff for up to a year. Yes a year! If you have any outdoor needs at least stop by and see what they can do for you

Absolutely love this place! The customer service is phenomenal. I went it to check it out one day because it was the new thing in town. I noticed they sold bicycles and knew Marty from a previous job. He was very helpful in helping me pick a bicycle initially I was going to go for their brand and save up. After checking out their website the outlet had a cannondale bicycle I fell in love with. Marty suggested I get measured because I want 100 percent positive on what my inseam was. I went in Issac helped me get measured in and explained to me why to get a XXL frame instead of an XL frame. He also went above and beyond and grabbed an XL bicycle from the top rack and had me sit on it. I realized instantly that I was riding wrong sized bicycles all my life Marty and Issac helped me finally her into a good sIze immediately ordered the the bicycle from the coop site. It was shipped and ready in about 10 days. Kyle and Psy were really helpful in helping me pick out things like a lock a helmet and a rear light. Already put 100 miles on the bike. Kudos to all the guys for awesome customer service and answering all my questions. Even the dumb ones. I've learned a lot. Definitely would reccomend going to this store if you are into the outdoors at all. I also appreciate how they recycle so much and give back. Worth the 20 dollar membership that lasts a lifetime and worth checking out.

This review is coming from my experience living in Minnesota for over 14 years and moving back to Oklahoma. My experience with REI is with the flagship store in Minneapolis (really Bloomington) off 494. It's HUGE with a climbing wall, a camping section and wall to wall apparel. It's 4 or 5 times larger than this OKC location. Of course, the culture in Minnesota lends itself to being outdoors as much as possible and the landscape encourages this. Not so much on ether account here in Oklahoma. I was disappointed in the OKC REI location. The selection of Men's apparel is lacking and the Women''s isn't much better. It has the most basic of other items REI is known. However, the service was great (I was there to return a pair of shorts) and I did pick up a few things. I would hope in time this would turn into more of a "garage" location and at some point in the future OKC can have it's own flagship store. One can only hope.

I just spent a month in Oklahoma City Ok, and brought my bike with me to ride while in town. I ran into some issue's with my bike and Marty, Dakota and Ryan all worked to fix my issues, while keeping the costs down to a minimum. Keeping in mind that I didn't buy my bike from this store. This store and all of it's employees were the best and customer service was second to none. While in the store with my bike, I also purchased 2 pairs of shoes and some other items for my bike. I have loved all of my REI experiences but this store is top notch.

I went to REI, desperate for help finding a pair of hiking shoes to help me train for a 50-mile hike in Sedona. Jay was exactly the guy I needed. He was patient, asked great questions, listened, made recommendations, and helped me find the perfect shoes. If you need an expert to help you find the right fit, go to REI and ask for Jay! He was incredible!

Everyone was super friendly and attentive. Betty was fantastic in the shoe department! She helped my mom purchase two pairs of shoes, and was so knowledgeable and helpful during the whole process. It was the first time my mom went inside an REI store. Overall a great experience!
