Reviews of Round Valley Recreation Area
We have been here quite a few times for Memorial Day bbq. It’s a very nice state park with beautiful picnic areas with grills. They also have a volley ball court on the sand and a nice beach with life guards. There is plenty of areas to walk around and play area for the kids too.
The state park is very big. There are different selections of the park. It you can picnic, swim, boating etc. There are facilities for showering and changing. Restrooms and restaurants are available too. There are also lots of Parking lots but they do get packed very quickly. Overall it's a beautiful place to spend time with family and friends during summer
This place was OK, unfortunately, the entry into the water was closed as the lifegaurds were still undergoing training.
This area is not sooo dense with many trees, but it was just OK if you dont have any options…
Park entry was free and they were very strict about restricting the entry if the park is full….
Alcohol is not allowed to take inside the park.
Can try once if you live in NewJersey
It's a great place to visit. I has it all fishing, hiking, boating and swimming. Also has campsites. The water is crystal clear in the main reservoir. Definitely worth a day trip.
Round Valley is very nice, has a lake for swimming. There are also areas for hiking. The area is clean and there are bathrooms and changing rooms and a concession stand.
This is the next best beach after the real deal. Very happy we decided to change things up this summer. A great family place. Feels safe and is well kept. Such a beautiful location. Very relaxing. I must add that we visited on a weekday. I can see how weekends could be overcrowded.
You can hike. You can camp and there's a special area on the lake designated for swimming (there are lifeguards on duty). There are also picnic areas. Please ensure that you swim where it is designated. This is from something I experienced while there. Unless you're an expert swimmer please swim where designated.
This is a nice large park. The beach area was very crowded and loud music being played all over. On the other hand the resevoir was very nice. You have to pay 10$ to enter
One and only one close by to people living around 22 West. It’s our favorite go to place for long walks and great time by the water.
The swimming area is small, shallow, and loaded with algae. Although lifeguards are good on weekends it gets crazy crowded and people don't know how to behave. No swimming allowed in main reservoir which is much cleaner unless you are certified scuba/skin diver. Campsites are nice primitive sites that you must hike 3-6miles or take a boat to access. At the right time of year the first entire three miles of this hike are lined with wild raspberries. I enjoyed my hike to my site and my stay but note that there were only two working water hand pumps in the entire site and they were about 3 miles apart. Toilets were pits as expected but these were more e7venly spaced.
I recommend this lake because it is very good for swimming in summer the water is warm the picnic area is good, you can bring your own grill or there are, also bathrooms in the area its ok, it is a good place to enjoy a relaxed day with the family; and as in all the lakes you visit, arrive early to find a good place!!
Cant believe I lived here all these years and didnt know about this awesome lake and beach facility with ample parking, bathrooms, changing and showers, as well as a decent snack stand with plenty of treats for the kids and only $5 per car for the whole day!!!
We just love this park, all in one very well mantained, has large groves for picnics. It has this beautiful beach now its free as NJ state parks are free. One can do kayaking boating, biking , barbque and picnics here.
A nice park and lake area to relax & picnic. They have $10 fee for NJ residents and $20 fee for out of staters but they have a Covid vaccine policy where you can get in for free if your vaccinated.
Decent playground, not amazing but okay. Functional bathroom at least so that is a plus. Plenty of paved paths to ride a bike or scroll around. Also their are lots of bbq pits to use so that's a great plus as well.
Nice place. Not crowded yet because of COVID. Guards are on duty but their role was to prevent people from going into the water. Dogs are allowed, but only if they stay off the sand; on leash only obviously. When it opens up completely, it will be great place to visit.
Out of state pays $10.00 and NJ fee is $5.00. The beach and the lake were clean. Only 2 lifeguards on duty and it wasn’t that crowded as I expected on a weekday. Nice picnic area. You will see signs everywhere that says “no umbrellas” but everyone is using one and can’t blame them. It’s ridiculous not to allow umbrellas on the beach. One star comes off for that.
Beach and playground here. Good place for family outdoor activities fun. Plenty of parking spaces and easy to park.
Today my 5 year old and I did the blue trail/ pine trail loop. It was great, scenic, relaxing and did not feel crowded. We crossed paths with 3 sets of other hikers which was not too bad. We also went to the playground and had an all around great experience. Will be back for more trails
Beautiful recreation area! Such a wonderful spot for the afternoon and great trails and beaches!
Great place for families.
Dog friendly.
Beach area for swimming.
Great hiking 🥾 with dogs.
Plenty of places for the dogs to swim.
If you go at the right time the whole place looks like a photograph it is completely gorgeous the water is a dark green it's better to boat then to swim though... definitely a beautiful place to visit I will go back this time renting a boat!
good for some Toddler swim fun. the only thing there was a lot of trash on the beach area. I wish people would clean up after themselves. Also the shower aren't the best you have to hold the buttons down the whole time with is hard to do when you're trying to rise off a 2 year old.
Great place to have some family fun. They have hiking/MTB bike trails, boat launch and a beach for swimming. The park staff is vigilant and do their best to keep the park clean, unfortunately some patrons don’t understand the concept of cleaning up after themselves.
Its a great place for picnic with the family also have a food stand and ice cream stand love the lake and its a place of peace from the city
Absolutely beautiful! Highly recommend visiting in the fall. Take your boat on the lake and enjoy the view! Breathtaking!
Two of my days off are during the normal work week, so I like to come here when it's mellow and just lay in my hammock for a while. Beautiful spot.
I like it but its also slightly inconvenient. The swimming area isnt that big and it closes early. But its nice for little kids and has nearby playgrounds. The area for boating doesn't allow swimming but its huge and beautiful.
Great park! Great scenic view. Gets a bit crowded over the weekend.
Good place for kids. NJ state should fix the place up a bit. It looks like it did 30 years ago when I last visited. Does not look like much infrastructure maintenance has been done since then. Should at least fix the water fountain. When I was there a bunch of kids from the city came on buses. I think it is good for them to spend some time in the country.
Enjoy nature with water, trees and the open skies in this well maintained park. Less crowded than the nearby Spruce Run park
Goop place for relaxing, have barbeque and camping areas. Visitors may swim, boating, fishing, hunting. Round Valley has four color-marked trails.
Love it here!! Everything is perfect. If only the other parents would keep an eye on their children so the rest of us won't have to keep exiting the water it would be great! But we had an amazing time!
Lots of parking, accessible, and very clean. Staff is friendly and there's plenty of space to spread out, BBQ, and enjoy the day here.
Very safe and clean. kids will definitely enjoy here

Awesome place to camp and kayak fish! Going back very soon! Was rainy when i visited but still got out and caught some small mouth bass
We went to the beach area. The scenary was beautiful and the facilities were in good shape.
The water quality was not good, though. Water was green with a lots of debries floating around...
Did a 2 day camping trip and it was a wonderful expersince. No access by car so we kayaked across. The other campers tend to be a little on the noisy side and take away from the whole outdoor experience.
It was a nice place for family picnic and hangout..enough space to sit but one thing is I personally dont like in this covid situation no one wear the mask..that I felt little risky otherwise it was nice
Nice peaceful beach. Scenic views. Plenty of Picnic area.
Great place for a day out , lot of place for picnic , have fun in swim and trails to walk
Good place for weekend with friends and family, we went to beach there, not much crowded. but heard it’s usually gets pretty crowded and park will be full before noon but today it was not that crowded, the showers even had hot water, great place for bbq with family
We go every summer here and loved it so much (this photo was 5 or 4 years ago)
One of NJ's best nature spot. I love bringing my kayak here. Good hiking trails. Great camping spots, but reserve them in advanced!
On a sunny day with no winds, the water is crystal clear. From your kayak, you can gaze down into the water below you around the lake margins and see all sorts of aquatic life.
Be careful on the water. A sunny day can be complimented by random gusty winds. This will create turbulent conditions in the middle of the lake. Attempting to kayak/canoe directly across the lake can lead to your vessel being capsized. We did this once in a group. It was difficult. Kayaks were bobbing with water almost level around the kayak's opening.
Round Valley has been called "NJs Bermuda Triangle" by many, because it has claimed the lives of over 2 dozen people, with some having never been found. There are all sorts of local mythologies that attempt to explain the deaths, from Indian spirits pulling unsuspecting victims down into the lake, to underwater ghosts from ancient submerged villages. There is nothing supernatural or mythical about Round Valley. Local weather, random gusts, cold temperature, and other factors such as attempting to standup in a canoe on your first paddle without wearing a life vest, attribute to hazardous conditions. Respect mother nature.
I always enjoy my visits to Round Valley Recreation Area. There are so many different things to do that I sometimes have a problem narrowing it down to what I want to do.
On this visit I settled for a long walk along the beach area. Then I sat at the far end of the beach and listened to podcasts while I watched the birds.
I recommend Round Valley Recreation Area. I hope you enjoy your visit there. This is an excellent place to visit anytime of the year.
One of my favorite summer evening places to go, either in a kayak or on a paddleboard, clean clear water always refreshing
Nice peaceful and not too much crowded. Had good bathroom, changing room/shower facilities with picnics areas on wither side of the beach. Took one star out because I wish they had a larger beach portion opened(I guess it was due to number of lifeguards available) and on-site restaurant was closed during beach hours.
Beautiful place for outdoor fun and picnic. This place is very clean with plenty of parking available. Kids and adults can get into the water which is not too clean also there are showers available.
1st time visiting this place , we really had a great time..
A great place for make carne asada, take to the kids and enjoy the nature.
It waa a nice, quiet place. We went on a Sunday, it got bust around 1:00 p.m. Clean bathrooms. Plenty of grills for b.b q.
Great place to spend time with friends and family.
excellent scenic photography spot, birding, hikin, picnic area is there.
#thelensomaniaPhotography
It was beautiful there! Water is very clean! The trails are awesome! Love the concesión stand! The Chicken Fingers were delicious! The only negative is that there were lots of nats flying around....but I definitely recommend this place!
The water was dirty nonetheless its a lake so can't expect the flowing water, but didn't preferred to play in the water along with kids as was not comfortable. However the beach is nice and its really good for a day picnic along with family where you can barbeque and enjoy a sunny day.
Such a beautiful place to visit. Lots to see and lots for the kids to experience.
I hope you ask everyone for proof of vaccines
This is a Great Lake
Great to place to visit. Beautiful scenery, and a beach like area, lake swimming, hiking and walking Trails and kayaking, and bbq areas. Had a Great time there to just relax as well. A very small admittance fee, $10, but worth it. Check it out.👍🏾 …
The 7 mile hike to the camp grounds was hell, never again. 0/10 would not recommend. Nice park though!
Liked it - the picnic areas are first-come-first-served so no reservations but some are actually handicap-accessible so get there early if you have a particular spot you want for the day. There is a camping ground you can canoe or hike to (that requires a reservation) and there is a beach & docks by the lake for swimming and boating. I believe there is some limited hunting (& fishing?) allowed when it's deer hunting season but I'd recommend contacting the NJDEP for more info before you do anything like that. Parking fees are $10 for NJ residents and $20 for vehicles from out of state (good for the day - open 8a to 8p daily). Trash policy requires you to take out what you bring in so pack a big roll of trash bags. Beautiful scenery, and there are some OK restaurants not too far along US 22 from the Rec Area. Cell phone coverage is limited since the park is literally a round valley so check your phone for signal periodically.
Relaxing in winter, nobody but birds around if you are lucky as us.
Water side campsites are not water side at all. Campsites are not marked near the water so finding your site from the water is a guessing game. Walk to the camp sites is about 300 feet or so and half of that was across a rock field. This would not be a huge issue if you did not bring 100 lbs of firewood and other gear thinking your campsite was near the water.
Family oriented beach, no foolishness and everyone was following social distancing guidelines. I didn't even mind the $5 car fee. I suppose my only complaint was that they wanted children under 13 (or maybe it was 10) to have an adult physically accompany them into the lake. There were two lifeguards present, the lake wasn't overcrowded and was barely chest height for an adult at it's deepest. There also isn't a current and in an emergency it's a hop and a jump to get into the lake. Great experience otherwise.
Great place to take the kids in the summer , always has a sufficient amount of lifeguards to make sure everyone is safe. There was a child missing alert while we were there and it was impressive to see all the of the staff work together and jump into action. Definitely makes me feel safer bringing my kids to the beach here. There is also a lot of nice walking trails in other parts of the park
Very nice place, only that there should be a regulation, because there are people who play the music too loud.
Great little place, cheap entry but park is huge. Beach area can get crowded but it's very well maintained and looked after. Life guards on duty and water is relatively clear and clean. Great place for a little picnic with family, there are lots of tables but you can just bring a spread and sprawl out on the grass, tons of that too. Volleyball court also available
$5 on weekdays, $10 weekends, free after 5
Beautiful area to go with family or friends, I go every summer. A little small but I love it either way!
Water was green and dirty but loved it had fun there
It is a nice place to visit. I personally like it during the week when there are not much people and you can enjoy the peace. It's a perfect play ground for kids during the summer. They have a safe separated area for kids to swim. It is very crowded during the weekend but worth checking it. It is like a little gem. I wish it was open during the night so you could do some star gazing there.
I will keep it simple for you... if you are a nature lover... it can not get any better than having a fire with lake and sunset in the backround (when you are camping only).
Very primitive bathrooms. Garbage is cary-in-and-out so be mindfull of the ammount of things you are taking with you... especially when you are hiking in. The first 3 miles of the hike to the first campsite is moderate... and it get easier later on since there is a asphalt trail. Again, do not take more than you need other wise the weight of the cargo you are carrying will drain you.
State troopers are monitoring the water front if anyone is in the water. No swimming allowed. They are also visiting campsites to check for alcohol which is also not permitted. Make sure you have a small portable water filtration system if you are camping...
And please, DO NOT LITTER and clean after yourself (always have a heavy duty garbage bags)
It's kind of empty and boring. Not much to do but walk around and take pictures
Beautiful picnic place
Nice place to camp and hiking
Very clean. Well run. Life guards on the ball. Handling social distancing perfect.
This place was clean and great for the kids with two play ground within 75 yards of each other. Fairly clean for a public lake. Although I didn't use it, the food station seemed ok. There are showers and restrooms in close proximity to the water. The beach/swimming area is a bit smaller than expected but fair. Overall I will recommend this location and will return if given the opportunity.
Beautiful Park with beach, picnic grills n tables. There are a few easy trails as well. Amazing views from the lake.
On weekends need to get here early to get parking spot. Lake water is not clear but I expected that. Nice areas for a pucnic, under trees and open. Swing set for kids though it was too hot in open area. You can buy food or bring your own. Parking is $10 per car. Nice place, nice lake to spend a day.
Great place for eating good, having a get together, family cookout and others. Downfalls is food and ice cream is to expensive, water is SO DIRTY, BROWN AND SMELLY, and has so many hills to climb up and down which killed my feet
This is a great place for camping, swimming, boating, and hiking. I enjoy jogging the trails as well, but some find them strenuous so come prepared. The campsites are quite far from the parking lot, so pack with that in mind. I've seen tons of folks completely winded trying to carry a massive cooler not even 1/5 of the way to their site. Boat there if you want to go this route.
Otherwise it's a great place and I love going there. I wish it was open later, but what can you do?
Great lake for young families. Close parking, bathrooms, playgrounds, and snack shack. Parking is $5 during the week or $10 on the weekend. Bathrooms/showers/changing sometimes get a little gross by the end of the day after a lot of heavy use. Weekends it gets mobbed and park can close due to capacity.
Nice park for picnic. Colorful during fall time.
Nice place, free if you got the Vax pax. Fills up quick so get there early. Swimming lake has really odd rules and are strictly enforced.
Nice !
We visited round valley again this summer for a quick picnic. The kids went in the lake area and had a blast.
I am always amazed by the huge lake and the surrounding areas.
The picnic spot was nice as well.
Tips:
- Trash in/Trash out policy
- NJ state residents pay less at the entrance
The changing rooms have their own stall which is nice. Theres good picnic areas and everything is amazing. One thing I didn't like was that there are 3 lifeguards and they're just busy talking to each other instead of watching the crowd.
Beautiful lake, it has a nice beach to enjoy the water and the sun! Perfect for kids!
Had a great day with my family. Enjoy the water but they could do better keeping the changing room and bathroom cleaner and and supplied with tissue. I suggest bring your own toilet tissue and sanitary wipes.
High recommended for a family getaway or take your dog for a walk. Water is super clean and well maintained. I fished 2 bass but it’s getting more challenging during summer time.
I remember this place from 10+ years ago but sadly it wasn’t the same in my last visit.
One of the best lakes in New Jersey for swimming. The water is always warm, unlike the ocean. The park is well taken care off and the beach is very clean. Life guards are very alert. It also has washing rooms and restrooms near the beach. Admission is only $5.00 for NJ residents during week days. It's totally worth it.
Excellent water and facilities. The shower and changing area is also excellent.
Be warned that on warm, and thus really good days, this beach gets full by 12 PM and then no one is allowed into the entire park until 4 PM.
Clean and fun for a stopover and have a picnic. They have a beach area, small boat launch (horse power restriction so check the website but i believe its 5hp) Popular place for kayaks, knee boards and other personal water devices. Must have fishing license or boat pass to launch anything.
Autumn is the ideal time to visit. The foliage is intense and there's a wonderfully clean, crisp breeze that comes through. The water is one of the most beautiful things I've seen and the landscape of hills on top of a mountain is amazing. Summer gets crowded on weekends but weekdays are still great for peace and quiet!
Wonderful place for a weekend outing. It is a good place for swimming, hiking, kayaking, grilling and lot more activities. Don't forget that there was farming village in this reservoir location till 1960s.
It’s just like the best but you’re in a ocean. Make sure you go on a day it doesn’t rain or they will ask you to leave the park. It cost $5 or $10 for a full car load of people if live in state. Outta state goes up $5 or $10 more. Huge beautiful park. With fire pites. Although changing room is very unsanitary and smells very bad, does not have any toilet paper or napkins. Pee all over the floor. That is the only bad thing about this place otherwise this is a beautiful place to be on a sunny or hot day. it is better than the beach. it’s less crowded and safer for kids and there’s fish in the water and they will not bother you but it is a beautiful thing. They also have lifeguards All the time when someone’s in the water as well
We've been coming here for the last 3 years for memorial day. Its very peaceful, clean and lots to do. They have a playground for the little ones, lake to swim and fish and different areas for picnics and they have several bbq grills.
Lifeguards are really caring. Have to get there early to get the best spot in the lake. If not there early enough you have to go to the other side of the lake which is farther from the main water entrance. Have to keep on walking back and forth to the location where your friends and family are staying and back to the sand when hungry. Food is expensive. But it's fun.
I have been in round valley before is a nice area to gather with family bbq, beach area pretty clean as long as people are respectful and follow rules.. just wished dogs where allowed at the beach area at least one portion so they could enjoy the water too.. is so rare to find a beach dor dogs..
Very nice place to hike/camp. The people at the office who checked us in were friendly and informative. I could see the hike to the wilderness camping being a bit difficult for new hikers but very much worth it. We stayed at a group spot with access to the lake, it was beautiful. The campsite had multiple fire rings and a bear box to keep food in overnight. Easy access to bathrooms and bear proof trash cans. My only complaint is other people before us leaving their trash on the site, but thats not really the parks fault. I will definitely be returning!
Is a fun place to go and have a nice family picnic. But you should plan ahead because the place have no internet signal, perfect if you wanted to disconnect from the city a bit
Great place for backpacking so close to the city! The campsites are large and well separated and clean and close to the water. The reservoir has pristine clear waters. The hike was moderate but had too many road crossings and views of roads.
A good place to hike.... It have multiple trails which can be anywhere from easy to hard.we did a 10 mile hike ....most of the trail you have have beautiful lake view which is very refreshing...there are a lot of camping sites with rest rooms ...this is a pretty good option ....you need to book in advance..
The round trip hike can be a bit long and in parts can be strenuous but not overly so. Great place to hike and is wonderful in the winter. Don't think I would swim at the "beach" they seem to close it often due to "contamination" but the trail and some of the views are great for NJ.
This place is great to go spend the day with the family. Definitely a grear beach during summer too.
The park itself is good. You can do most activities that a state park can offer. However, the restroom is dirty and lack of maintenances. It seems like the park is seriously under staff to maintain the whole area.
Early in the season, so not crowded.
Great hiking and water features. Some of the trails are a little rugged and grown over. Bring pants!
I love going here. You can actually see the bottom of the lake when you get in. I've only grilled once here. You have to get here early in order to get a grill. Make sure you watch your kids. They will child PCS on you for not watching your kids.
Great park with ample shaded picnic areas. Also it was notably cleaner than expected.
Great spot.
I go here to kayak for flat water paddling for exercise and to check my speed. If you stay close to the edge, it is about 9 miles around the entire circumference of the reservoir. There is no swimming in the main reservoir. The rangers are constantly trying to enforce it but people ignore it. Lots of people just boat where it is not easy to be caught. If you have proper gear, it is great place to kayak in colder months or weekdays during the summers. The weekends can get crowded and you need a launch permit or fishing license to get into the launch area.
Great spot to go in group of friends or family; GREAT ENVIRONMENT love it👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 …
Loved it, there's a grilling area, the lake that's accessible only if the lifeguard is on duty and not to mention a play area and swing set for the kids if they tire from having a great time swimming.
Very nice state park in Lebanon NJ. There are multiple picnic areas with grills and picnic tables. There is a small lake with a beach and a lifeguard. Right next door is a large reservoir where you can launch your boat. Fishing is allowed. Family oriented park.
My chief complaint here is that they have a capacity limit. This means you will not be allowed in if that capacity has been met. We waited for 2 hrs since we drove 3 hrs to get there before being allowed in.
Such a beautiful area. I love going here in the summer and enjoying the small netted beach area. Great for hiking and enjoying the weather, 100% recommend if you’ve never been
The hiking trails need to be maintained but overall great experience. You can actually jump into the water
Very nice lake and beach. Not overcrowded. I go in summer during weekdays with my kids and it is always a pleasant experience. It is free after 5:00 PM.
Love this little spot, good for nice family gatherings. Are was clean, life guards on duty, was able to BBQ. Really enjoyed it.
Now I love this place. The kids love it too. Nice to relax and isnt crazy like the beach. Though the lifeguards are rude as hell. Lazy as well. They dont allow you to bring anything in the water which was disappointing for the kids
Well marked and kept trails. Nice that the parking is free.
The park is awesome. 0ffers a lot of opportunity. From boating todiving, walking trails to beach and many more. However for the food how much is being charged at beach area, the food is a lot worse that in any other beach area.
Sand, water, all you need for a toddler.
Had my son's 3yr old bday there. 60 ppl. Best place for bbq outdoor games, swimming. Vast Seating areas playground for kids and fishing. Hiking also available and raft and boat on the big clear water lake. A must visit.
It's fine, but not particularly fancy.
Beautiful! Perfect. a lake, picnic area and a playground for the kids. Very clean, a great place for families. the lake is free but you have to pay for parking. Worth it!😍 …
I have always loved round valley. I have always gone to round valley to camp. But unfortunately like alot of things in New Jersey the park is getting worse and worse by somehwhat no fault of round valley. As you walk down the paths you can tell it's upkept but that is all the park can do. You can also see the start of old electrical hookups but are now abandoned. The beach on the opposite side of the lake has been degraded so much. There is a nice over hang with tables but the tables are all piled on top of each other, trees have fallen on the beach and weeds have grown making the beach 1/3 of what it was. Don't get me wrong the place is still beautiful and fun to camp here but the potential was great when I was a child and all of that just disappeared as I grew up. SAD!!!!
It was getting dark when we arrived at my friend's wedding so I can't really review the park. If the tent was part of the park, they should have had sturdier generators for heating. It was COLD!
Great outdoor park and beach on the lake
Has nice trails. Swimming area was very crowded so did not go there.
A nice place to go kayaking, swimming, or hiking. They have a nice beach area with lots of places to grill. A good place to enjoy the day with friends and family.
Nice place and nice view....very clean water...but I reccomend water shoes cause there's quite a few rocks that tend to hurt the feet of the lil ones... had a blast
Nice place for picnic with family, only issue is the beach, restroom get close after labor day. you are not allowed to enter water, go to picnic area restrooms.
We really enjoy this place. Great way to spend a day. Bathrooms could be a little cleaner, but with the volume of people they get in the Summer, i can see how it would be hard to keep up with that.
Very beautiful lake. Well-maintained and protected. It's the perfect place to go kayaking or boating. The water is incredibly clear. Truly a staple landmark of the area.
It is a natural lake from water from the mountain and lakh valley is around the mountain near New Jersey USA and very good for outing with family and children. One can enjoy swimming on lakh water which is very clear and play games prepare food in the open ground. Boating and Fishingbis are also allowed with the licence. Time is 0800 AM to 0800 PM.About an hour drive from New Jersey.Patking is 10$ for New Jersy vehicles and for others 20$ and gate will be closed if parking is full. Nice outing for family for full day.
Lake area is nice, not too crowded on a Monday. Most showers in the changing area were not working.
Great place for family and loved ones to have a walk, fishing and just sit under the sunshine. Peaceful park, clean and friendly. Highly recommended.
Great hiking place with great view at certain parts of parking over looking the round valley reservoir
This place is quite and peaceful. The lake is awesome and the little beach they have there is cozy. Perfect for relaxing, reading, hiking, fishing, meditating... Love this place.
Very very clear water for swimming. Good place for rainbows and lakers but they are tougher to catch. Just keep an eye out for the other boaters.
The most beautiful place I went swimming all summer I’ve been trying to get up there for the winter but it is truly gorgeous and peaceful
Nice clean lake to bring your friends and family too. Small $5 fee for new jersey residents and $10 non residents
Such a peaceful and beautiful place to visit! Great picnic area. Open during COVID-19 and there’re a very few people.
It is a good place to visit for picnic in summer and to enjoy fall season to see beautiful colors. Kids enjoy swimming and very good recreational area.
12 miles of amazing hiking!
Awesome barbeque, sun, sand and lake in one spot
Great place to spend the day on the water. Beware of strange currents in the middle of the water. Kayaking gets tiring when not near shore due to the currents from the depth. Other than that, great place to be on the water
Nice place very clean water.trophy trout in cool deep water.Boating regulations are enforced especially weekends between memorial and labor day.A lot of shoreline fishing and kayakers occasional windsurfers.Launch permit needed unles you have a NJ fishing or hunting license
Great place to enjoy with family and friends
1st time and we like it we will be back ..
I go almost every year with family members and have our cook out get wet. Our kids come with their kids. Is a good place for families to gather.
It's a calm and beautiful place to spend some family time. The staff is so nice and polite. I totally recommend this spot.
Great place to take a huge family a lot of space there for and a very big parking lot and the best thing of all that it is only $5.00 bucks to get in you can't beat that make sure you bring a lot food there so that you can cook there they have bbq grills there
Food was good. Loved the chicken picata, love that they have Gluten Free options.
Service was a little slow, they may have been understaffed. Reasonable prices.
Place is clean. And taken care of very well. But even though covid 19 is still in going park is open but no swimming allowed.
Very small confined lake area during the week it's only 100 by 80 ft they let u swim in , no garbage can so some people buried there garbage in the sand when you make a sandcastle you will find a lot of buried treasure of trash 🗑️🚮♻️🏖️🏰...The Reservoir has the best water if you have access to a boat you can swim there because the shore is very rough with rocks
Very well maintained and policed so it's a safe area to bring family all seasons
Beautiful place for a relaxing day, You can enjoy the beach, space for grilling, fishing, camping, great view of nature, Love this place but recommended mostly weekdays, weekends are really crow.
We go there every year at least twice in the summer. Nice to rest under a shade and the lake is not to bad. I would recommend it
Been coming here since I was little my favorite lake lots to do with all age groups grills showers and changing rooms always clean
Just keep swimming
The water isn't that clean. Can bring floats in the water. But park is beautiful and great areas for BBQ.
Great place to relax. Didnt use the bathrooms due to pandemic concerns. All in all my kids liked the experience.
It's been awhile since I've come to the Valley to fish and today was with my Grandson. Although we didn't catch any fish it was a great time!
Great places to go with kids, just need to get there early if you want to get a good spot and grill under the shade
Great place for hiking or boating, I go there every year.
Great place in the fall and spring. I would recommend staying away from the beach area during the summer season because the crowd that gathers there is a bit unsavory.
Hidden gem! Very serene
Cozy place, great views
Great, relaxing family place. Little swimming beach and BBQ picnic areas. Lake side has some giant fish as well
Very beautiful with nice talking trails and a beach with a playscape for kids right on it! Trash is everywhere in the surrounding wooded areas.
Good place for a day picnic and barbeque. The water of the reservoir is good for swimming even for the people who doesn't know swimming.
It's a great peaceful place but it is getting less so. People come in and leave their trash all over. Beer bottles, cans plastic bags and full garbage bags of trash. What pigs.
Great place. Family friendly. Traveled 1 hour to get there and it was worth it. My kids love it!!
Clean water lake, but the wait is difficult and crazy. Waiting in line then when you get there no more parking. You must be there by 8:00 am to get in. And in the weekdays, you can't swim because there isn't enough lifeguard.
Love this lake to take my kids and dog. Usually empty, but I'm sure when summer comes people from all over will be going!
It's a great place to grill and to run around with the kids. The water's cleanliness leaves alot to be desired.
Best kept secret in NJ, stunning lake, quiet
Beautifull place,,. Thank You round balley recreation park.. God bless You all.
Great place to hang out and barbecue. Swimming area was fun, there was able parking and the built in grills were every convenient
These days they have closed some of the beaches. Also the water is still attracting a lot of mosquitoes 🦟 …
Good place to visit .
My favorite Park
Great place for a hike with some beautiful views of the lake, to do a picnic with family and friends or to take the kids.
Wonderful natural environment. Plenty of walking trails or pathways. Easy to keep socially distant.
A big park, lots of parkings. The lake is small, shallow, and a lots of weeds. Small insects fly around in summer time.
Very nice place to relax and spend day with family, bike, fishing, picnic, playground, beach
Quiet retreat tucked away& out of sight. Great place for biking, walking & picnics!
Great place to relax...
Very quiet and serene.
Great for camping!
Great place for relaxing, fishing, walking, swimming, kayaking.. you name it. Crystal clear water, quiet, peaceful. Best place in Central Jersey!
I really enjoyed the hiking in the trails. The hikes are very easy.
Beautiful location for spending some peaceful time with nature.
Sight is beautiful but maintenance is awful. Never saw showers in such terrible condition. What a shame!
Great place for escaping quarantine.

Really clean lake, not crowded, good for Families..
Nice pinic ground. Great place to barbeque with friends and family. Just have to arrive early to get a good spot.
Had a nice day there with my family.
Great place to go with family and loved ones. clean and pleasant.
Beautiful place but there are always people fishing there and you can't use outside voice or need to stay away from disturbing fish.
Nice place to go with family. Has different areas to picnic & just hang out.
A great place for hiking and exploring. The picnic areas can be noisy and crowded during summer months.
Nice place, kids can play & swim in the water
Perfect place for kayak and bbq
Very friendly and helpful great place to fish and to dive as well nice place to bring the family and swim as well.
Nice place but gets crowded.. if don't get in by 11am.. most likely you won't be able to get in due to over crowding
Me and my family was out on a field day we really enjoyed our day at Round Valley.
Keep up the great service.
Thanks
Great place, yet too crowded and noisy for comfortable picnic/swimming
Great place to grill and swim on a hot day or buy food if grilling isn't your thing.

Beautiful place to b w family I did my family cookout there
Nice place. Very quiet in fall. Lots of picnic tables and grilling stations.
Great place with life guards on watch. Wish swimming area was bigger but it is what it is
Always a wonderful recreation area. Enjoy the walks and the surrounds!
The place is good, but have to clean a little bit more, maybe the people should do it, we have to give the example, and cooperate more with our community
West picnic area is a bit more secluded and not too far from the lake!
Nice place to spend the afternoon. There are several playgrounds, a small beach, and nice scenery.
Very large reservoir. Swimming area fairly small.
Been here many times a great place to do so many things. fish, hike, swim, sit, camp and more
Gorgeous for a hiking path. I wish they didn't charge locals for summer though
Advise:
Get there early for a great picnic spot
Don't bring floating devices
Have a great day
This park make you feel like beach at your backyard

This going to be my first time come in at this park and I hope get the best time there !
This is a place where you should breathe peace, then why not ban music with high volume, which becomes noise?
Nice place, but the swimming area is not the best
The water is nice. You can bbq and place a hammock
Lots of graffiti and poorly maintained park. I am not impressed.
Its clean water to swim in. Alot of fun. And really peaceful
Great place to b with family, my kids enjoyed every minute of it.
It's a beatiful place to relax and enjoy with your family and friends
Very nice and peaceful area.
Small park and beach for kids.
Great environment to be at and enjoy a bbq while swimming at the lakes.
the closest bathrooms are closed, and many people are too lazy to go to those who are a little further away I did not see many people who came out to go to the bathroom and this seems anti-hygienic
Love round valley. It's a beautiful place and has great trails.
Amazing spot to spend an evening
End of season now, but still a beautiful place to visit!
