Reviews of The Battery
Battery park is great place to spend day. Amazing view and so many things to enjoy. Really nice pond with ducks , fishes and water fall. Nice kids playground with a lot to do for kids. Volleyball court, shopping mall and so many small and big restaurants. Also you can take ferry up and down on Hudson. Just visit at least once so you know what I’m talking about.
Quiet and serene place to go to. However I get an eerie atmosphere by late evening as the sun set down. Am not sure of its the same during the bright daylight. There were few people enjoying the evening sunset and sea breeze as well some joggers working out. The place could be better lit to facilitate a more safe and welcoming aura.
Excellent public park. Clean and wonderfully landscaped with great riverfront views. Particularly liked sitting underneath the trees to have lunch in Battery Oval after taking in the sights on the Staten Island Ferry and visiting the nearby Skyscraper Museum. The restrooms are also surprisingly well-kept considering they are in NYC.
Very clean, safe and nice city park. Beautiful views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Wonderful statues and monuments all over the park. Fabulous playgrounds for the kids. The sea glass carousel is must! Even if you are an adult take a few minutes and take a ride! Coffee and food stands are all over the park. So wether you want to sip and stroll or park it on a chair in the green spaces and sip or eat they have it.
Beautiful park where you sit relax and calmly enjoy your hot dogs. Children would love the place. It is also an attraction for many joggers. I also happen to see a fashion ramp walk which was open to public.
The park itself has some interesting statues and lots of carefully manicured landscaping, but it is easily missed as many people are only passing through it on their way to the Liberty/Ellis Island ferries, or to the Staten Island Ferry. It also breaks away from the steel jungle of skyscrapers and provides good shots of the towers - especially if you aren't going on a ferry for the iconic skyline photos.
Clean and well manicured with a safe feel. The view of Ellis island and the Statue of Liberty are a farther away than you would like but decent. A nice place to enjoy while in the Wall Street area.
Beautiful park at the tip of Manhattan! Great place to walk around, go to the dog park and just enjoy a good outing! Lots of history to see and you can catch a ferry from here! I recommend checking it out if you’re in New York City!
I know it's just a park where you're going to take the ferry to the Statue of Liberty, but the atmosphere of tranquility it presents, especially in downtown, is incomparable. The views of the sea are great and very relaxing. A little recommendation is always ask the price before buying in the food carts, another recommendation is to go to the westernmost end of the park to capture the photo of the freedom tower
It's such a great park to go with the kids. From the great view to the playground, which had slides, water/sand area, and climbing setup, everyone had a blast. We drove, but it's not far at all from the train and not that far from restaurants for food. The kids expended a lot of energy that day and slept really well. I'll certainly return!
Very lovely and serene park. I enjoy seeing little ones play in the water. The area is so clean and fresh although it’s close to the city it feels like an entirely different environment because of its atmosphere. There are very close train lines and museums attractions in walking distance. I will recommend it as a stop when visiting museums or taking the ferry!
This is a very cute park to have a walk around, welcome green area's which NYC is lacking in some other places so its very welcome seeing this near a financial district. Not a fan of the snake handler as animals should not be used for peoples entertainment, but there was other entertainment/dancing and the tourists seemed really engaged. There is a very interesting statue currently installed called "‘The Great Debate” as shown in my picture which is worth a look. There are some other great spots to get pictures that are not obvious until you spend some time there. Worth a look if you are around the area.
Nice place in the city just down from the Bull. The day was nice when we went. Nice place to walk. We took pics at the water. I really like the memorial from the Korean War. Can see the statue of liberty in the distance. You can catch the ferry to visit the statue of liberty from here too.
Yesterday on my way home I went to seat down & relax for a while. I was surprised how nicely they have changed the park. Preety clean too. I saw a small farm too. I bet I will visiting this place soon. I wanna watch the sunset here one day..
A well kept planted park great for people/ bird watching, smelling the flowers, viewing military memorial statues, walking and catching the ferry to liberty island. So much to see and do here it is ideal for all ages. Walking paths suited for everyone and wheelchair friendly. There are near by food spots, vending carts and play areas, even a covered carousel.
The Battery leading us to the ferry and on to the Statue of Liberty as well as the Ellis Island... Very informative - very beautiful and the staff that made sure all guest were welcome and informed properly about these land marks,,, they, the staff deserve multiple thanks and job well done. If it were not for the staff, things wouldn’t run as smooth. So a BIG thank you to, ALL STAFF involved with the ferry rides, museums, and monuments. You guys do not go unseen. Thank you for giving us the chance to witness history that still stands for the people ❤️
It's a nice place to leisurely stroll around or take your morning run....just beware of dog droppings. Apparently the rule in new york is to own a dog and take him out, but completing your responsibility ends there. So watch where you step...additionally the views of the bay, statue of liberty, ellis island, governor's island and the memorials in the park are a must see.
Area In lower western Manhattan. Has beautiful architecture, historic sites, ferry to Staten Island, tours to The Statue of Liberty, and many other places to go and things to see. Excellent for people of all ages.
Beautiful park even tho it's winter and everything is brown, we did the statue of liberty tour and when we came back we had our picture painted and enjoyed the sunset seeing lady liberty disappear in the light.... Albeit chilly but still lovely.
Beautiful park, some festivals going around when we went. Also have a movie night during that week. Only thing I didn't saw was bathrooms available. Small business selling drinks and food, have some tables to seat. A beautiful merry go around available.
Nice park in general. Unfortunately there are many construction works and the park is partially blocked by the tourism around the Statue of Liberty. Toilets are really clean for public restrooms, also the toilet paper is very thin.
I went to NYC on 7/30, I arrived at The Battery Park, I took a nice walk around, I then went to buy tickets for a trip to the Statue of Liberty and Eli's Island at Castle Clinton Fort. The park was clean and it was very convenient place for someone wanted to go for a visit to the Statue of Liberty. Highly recommend place.
Beautiful views of the ferries going back and forth, Statue of Liberty, Downtown NJ, and still some of Manhattan. There's a decent playground, plenty of area to walk your dogs, and a bunch of monuments/historical stuff to look at if you just want to sit and chill. There were people selling fresh fruit, snacks, toys/NYC gifts and caricatures. If you are lucky you might catch a performance of a family that does some acrobatics, great show they do, hopefully you are willing to tip them! Enjoy!
Great spot to chill out, have lunch or simple coffee or ice cream, to enjoy the sun, to play with children, to walk with dog or to do some exercise.
Close to Wall Street and Financial District, it's easy to access by metro.
Ps: it is the access to get the cruise to Liberty Island/Liberty Statue and Ellis Island.
Nice park 👍🏻 👌 so beautiful and well maintained inspite of lot people around.
Beautiful garden and the squirrel 🐿 are so cute ☺️around our there.
Kids will enjoy the evening and playful.
After visit the Statue of Liberty 🗽 do visit and relax for a while.
Overall it’s good place to visit.
Very nice park with amazing crowd, mostly families with kids having fun walking around and exploring the beauty. It hosts the seagrass caresoul which looks beautiful late in the evening. The park gives spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline, statue of liberty and is adjacent to the Staten island ferry terminal for free ferry rides. We had amazing time at this place and I highly recommend it to families visiting NYC.
Never knew this little colored corousel existed until we walked back from Statue of Liberty cruise. My kids enjoyed the 3 minute ride costing $6 each, and they came back smiling. The hostess was courteous. Nice short experience 🙂 …
Surprisingly clean. Picturesque. Diverse and disconnected crowd, though not inconsiderate. I enjoyed my rush through here, heading to and from Lady Liberty (boat rides). The security officer was kind and helpful when I asked for directions. It was nice! Looks like it would be a fun place to hang out if I had been with friends.
Little but lively park. We spent some time in it before and after our ‘cruise’ to Ellis Island which we boarded there. There are drinking fountains, benches, you’ll often find carts vending something (depending on how convincingly the police are patrolling, apparently not all of the carts have licenses 😉). There are also street artists; some juggling, others posing as lady liberty🗽 I wouldn’t say it is worth a trip on its own, but it is worth a (quick) detour. And if you’re going on a liberty cruise, foresee a little time afterwards to enjoy the park and it’s atmosphere.
A very good place for a lovely morning stroll or an evening walk, with your pet or your loved ones or your friends. A great place for photographers too. The only drawback I see is the lack of any cafes nearby.
Beautiful park along the waterfront with views of the Statue of Liberty. The grounds are kept up and offer a few monuments and green spaces.
We passed through this park to take the ferry to Liberty Island.
We wished to have more time to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere; despite all the stories in this area, we could feel a very positive energy that motivates you to lay down and chill on the benches, the grass etc...
I will come back soon to that place.
Battery Park contains many monuments honoring soldiers, explorers, inventors, and immigrants. We also took the Staten Island Ferry for free and got to see the Statue of Liberty. Not far we saw the Wall Street Bull and visited a cute farmers market
The park was lovely, but a lot of places were blocked off or under construction. It was windy and cold, and yet STILL totally packed. But cool to see the Statue of Liberty, and check out some of the monuments!
Also, lots of vendors selling a variety of things, from fruit cups to knock off purses to hats, shirts, and knick knacks. Felt really out of place amongst a bunch of serious monuments....but at least you can get a bit of mango if you're hungry!
With so much history, this place is just beyond words. I've been here before but did not know the history (granted I was a child). But I recently learned some history and to have America's history begun(some) started here. With the forts and custom house to first inauguration.
It's a perfect place for hangout with your friends but if you have time, explore the area. If you are history buff like me, you would love it.
Also, if you want to go to lady liberty, you have to come here. Some tips, buy the tickets online and come a little early as there airport style check-in to get on the ferry.
Very beautiful setting with great photo presentations. The staff are friendly & helpful. We did the "hard hat" tour of the hospital which was excellent.
The place was around the 9/11 memorial and historic centre. The place is well maintained and has seating options. Good to to rest around for a while after walking for a long period.
The Battery area is beautiful. The view is amazing. The city/state has put a lot of effort into this area. Definitely worth the visit!
Nice park at the South of Manhattan. It is the starting point for cruises to liberty and Ellis Island and the Staten Island ferry. Very nice it’s in community garden where people can pick Their own vegetables. Great idea coming from my hometown Andernach in Germany .
It's hard to circulate due to all the barricades that are placed around the park, there was a lot of garbage and people selling you stuff following you around. I think this park needs more nature, it's a shame since it's a very iconic place and it's in desperate need of reforestation.
nice park area, a little on the busy side but some great views, well maintained walking paths and lots of interesting sculptures. well manicured park lawn with a nice variety of flowers and bushes
The weather is not in our favor when we went there. Were planning to have a ferry and see the Staten Island but as you can see it was foggy. It was a nice park though.
Excellent park!! with green vagitation and views modern buildings with amazing background.
After the long walk in NYC, this could be the place to chill and rest for sometime. As any other park, it's filled wih street shows and artists so you will not become bored. There are food places nearby and also the boat which goes to the island where the statue of liberty is. You can also see the statue of liberty from here.
Near Battery Park and probably the best place to take a good sunset picture of Liberty Lady. Beautiful place; accesible by train and bus. Downfall...as most places in the city..IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO EVEN SLOW DOWN AND FIGURE OUT WHERE YOU ARE GOING City residents have no time or patient for tourists'. No parking anywhere.
Beautiful park with a view of the Statue of Liberty and other New York landmarks and statues. There’s a ferry service going to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. There are also cafes and restaurants nearby.
The Battery Park area is a historic sight in this country, but in winter, it is more difficult to wait in lines for the Statue of Liberty ferry, and there r barricades all around, plus a lack of bathroom facilities as well. I went to meet an old friend, and had to walk a lot to find a rest room, which is difficult 4 me.
Needs a little gardening and a cleanup, but the views are fantastic. This is where you board he ferry for Liberty and Ellis Island. Very easy to get here using the Subway.
The place was well maintained and they have bathrooms in the main building which can be hard to find in Manhattan. There are several memorials and of course this is where you get your tickets to go over to the Statue of Liberty.
An oasis of open space and fresh air on the southern tip of Manhattan island and the place to be for your boat trip across to Liberty and Ellis islands. Plenty of pathways and benches to sit and watch the world go by. Castle Clinton national monument can be visited here.
I visited the shops at Battery Park that are set up annually for the holidays. The ice skating rink was awesome. A very unique shopping experience for the holidays.
It isn’t the experience I remember from childhood (less random performers and artists) but it’s still a nice place to view the Statue of Liberty.
Very cool, I love the statues, the flowers and the atmosphere, the park seemed to be right on the sun, but I'm not sure if the rides were burning.
Lovely little park in southern Manhattan NYC. The architecture of the buildings at this park are so unique. There is a cafe that is not open in the winter. It is free and there is a kids playground. This is where the entrance to the Staten island ferry and the Statue of Liberty ferry are located.
It is a Must if visiting NYC, if you want to get a nice view of the liberty statue get on this Ferry. Take the 1 Train (or taxi or other) it lets you right on the door of the ferry, when boarding get all the way to the front of the ship and to the right side for the best view. Ferry to staten island. Is free as well.. it goes every 30 min( 10-10:30-11-11:30 and so on)
Battery Park feels like an oasis in the city. Lots of green space and a nice view of the water. Loved the sea glass carousel ride- definitely a different type of experience. What really was great for our kids was the playscape and how it was integrated into the landscape. Lots of little birds hiding between the long grass and flowers. They would pop out and fly about as you walked or slid by.
the preamble to take the ferry to Statue off Liberty and Ellis Island.
Like in every other major city, a few characters and a couple of homeless, but overall a well maintained park, since it is a touristic spot.
Close to Wall Street, 9/11 Memorial and other important NYC spots.
Strategically located near metro/subway stations
NYC on tour!!
Our first day and we have walked all the way from 40th Street.....8 miles? And can you believe it, not one cafe or bar, not even a pop up on the way. It appears that NYC closes down in September and doesn't cater for the thousands of tourists still in need of a caffeine hit.....all quite bizarre. Even when we got to this Park via the Memorial 9/11 gardens we still struggled to find one. And there is only one hotel/pub come bar in the Park. And the location deserves soo much more. ..Spectacular views across the bay with Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty on view. But the view is partially obstructed by fences and railings cordoning off areas where passengers are queuing for the ferry to the SOL. The smell and power of the Atlantic can be keenly felt and the plying of ferry's every 30 mins from the Park make it a must for the Tourist. The Staten Island ferry is a regular passer by. Even so, overall I was disappointed by it and I can't help thinking if it was in England we would make so much more of it...
Lovely for sunset. I've been there a few times and I love it. There are enough space to sit and no one bothers.
Had a 4 hours of free time took the subway to WTC and walked to Battery Park. Found a harbor cruise for $23 dollars enjoy the experience.
Very pleasant and clean with many people enjoying life. Walking through, we saw others fishing, roller blading (wouldn't recommend due to surface), running/jogging, biking and riding on scooters. Plus, it's a pet friendly area with designed areas where dogs are not allowed. People were sitting on blankets in those areas.
Very nice parc for a view of the city's past. Ferries dock at its shore to pick up visitors to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, and all summer long concerts play on its grounds.
Its beautiful waterfront and flower gardens make The Battery a lovely place to wander. For those who'd like a longer stroll, the park’s location at the southern tip of Manhattan makes it a classic starting point for walking tours through the city.
Nice view of Statue of Liberty, public restrooms, benches to sit on. Access to Statue of Liberty tours & Staten Island Ferry. Also has a SeaGlass Carousel.
This park is a wonderful walk. Living in the neighborhood, it a wonderful escape for a morning/night cardio, watching sunsets and sunrises. You even get to meet lady liberty on your way all around.
The park and its surroundings are named after the artillery batteries that were built in the late 17th century to protect the settlement behind them. There are public restrooms and benches to sit on.
The Battery park is New York’s birthplace park, is open for enjoyment of the harbor and gardens.it’s very nice park and you can see Statue of Liberty from park.
It was nice. Great weather. But be on time for the Ellis Island Ferry. It leaves right on time. People were running to get on and join their group and they just pulled off. Gotta keep that schedule!!!
Helicopter ride was great but expensive.
A must visit place if you’re around the area maybe for one of the ferries or just want a nice view of some amazing skyline.
Nice place to go with the dogs. A good spot to look at the Statue of Liberty. In the green area with fences there are many blue chairs, so you can enjoy the sun under trees with the dogs. We had a nice time at this spot.
Excelent place, 4, 5 train , Staten Island Ferry, Statue Liberty Ferry, plays for children's, public bathroom ,food areas , pets welcome, Floor water fountain ⛲ and more
Fun park! Only saw the smaller part where the ferry picks up but it's nice and quiet!
Nice place to walk around. Awesome view of the river. Clean surroundings.
Best place to go and read a book, while enjoying the fresh wind from the ocean hitting you in your face, I went there to practice some meditation, it’s a nice place to be is you want to scape from the noice of downtown, it’s on the last stop of the train 1
An absolutely beautiful and very underrated area to walk around. There are so many incredibly beautifully designed walkways with absorbing sculptures, and peek-a-boo views of the world trade center and other skyline icons.
A really nice place to enjoy a stroll or to rest your legs after a long day of walking around the city! Battery Park is a complete package. You get stunning views of Downtown and the harbor. You can see Castle Clinton, a National Historic Site. You can also take ferries to Ellis Island and Liberty Island from here!
This is a small and mighty park. So much history of NYC is here. This is where you can catch the Statue of Liberty ferry and you get to have a nice view of 1 WTC. The parks have some nice grass area. Dogs are allowed to run free on the grass so make sure to look for surprises. The sea glass carousel
Is here too. This is a nice place to watch the sunset too. The 4/5 Bowling Green stops here. Check this place out!
Great spot to take in a little sea breeze. Pixie Scout Canteen is a go to for us in the spring/summer months. Grab a little beer and relax!
Only a few steps away from the heart of Wall street and Downtown Manhattan you have this park with plenty of trees and sitting areas for having either a quick lunch or a picnic or walking your dog.. And also maybe enjoy some unique beautiful music..
And of course the best place to catch the ferry to Liberty Island and visiting the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
So whether you're a tourist or you just love enjoying your City this is a great choice to spend your time any day of the week.
Clasic Old fashion Hearth of Lower Manhattan. Turist and Local metting place at end of MTA line 6. To enjoy a outdoor space. To walk or take a Breack. Avaliable tra soportaron on bus or taxi cab. Near of Gobernator and Island Ferrys. Wall street.
Recommend coming at sunset. Beautiful view on the water at Statue of liberty. We also saw lot of birds and squirrels
Beautiful place to take a walk and enjoy a cool breeze. I enjoyed all of the monuments and learning about the history of the area.
I was disappointed in customer service because I got my table and I was sat there for 15 minutes and no waiter came to my table, I had to call the restaurant to complain and get a waiter I was so happy to come check this restaurant out but I wasn’t expecting this experience, I mean I was the only person of color at that time and it make feel some type of way regarding this so if I didn’t call I wouldn’t receive service this wasn’t kool at all
Beautiful park, to many big green trees. They had benches to seat. A park place to bring your dogs and okay with them. I liked.
Love this part of the city. Lots of history and a little slower scene in NYC. Sunsets over the Statue of Liberty and dinner on Stone St make for a great night. Easy walks to the 911 Memorial, Wall Street...great restaurants, views, and things to do.
The Battery, formerly known as Battery Park, is a 25-acre public park located at the southern tip of Manhattan Island in New York City facing New York Harbor. It is bounded by Battery Place on the north, State Street on the east, New York Harbor to the south, and the Hudson River to the west
A large expanse of greenery. Multiple attractions. However, most importantly it is the boarding point for the ferry service to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
Didn't have time yo do a cruise to The Statue of Liberty - but great viewing point
Very nice clean place with beatiful view. Cruise for the Statue of Liberty starts here.
Quiet and beautiful park. Magnificent views in both directions, the city and the sea.
Beautiful park, can get a view of the Statue of Liberty 🗽 and enjoy some sun & coffee. My favorite place for a relaxing lunch. …
Pier to visit Statue of Liberty from New York side. It's also a great place to walk around.
Nice area to relax in the park or hit up the vendors along the road food, ice cream, boba tea etc
This is my favorite park in the city. I love Piet Oudolf's gardens and I love to visit them in all seasons to see how they evolve and change. In the early morning's they open one of the lawns to the neighborhood dogs to run around. (It changes throughout the year to protect the grass.)
Great little park for a stroll with some fantastic sculptures and view's of the Statue of Liberty 🗽 …
It's a very beautiful spot to spend several hours at while in NYC if you don't want to be swallowed up by too much of a crowd.
It is a lovely park to spend some leisurely time after or before your trip to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. You can even find a cold beer at the kiosk.
Came here to have a look at the statue of liberty. Such a nice active park, plenty of food and activity.
Beautiful park by the water. You can see the statue of liberty. Take the statton Island ferry for a closer look.
The Battery is access to the ferry for Staten Island and the Statue of Liberty. Additionally you can buy tickets here. There is a cool playground for kids and other fun things. Views to the Statue of Liberty.
The battery. First time here. Coming back for more . There is so much to learn about and experience in that location. Remembering those who served, visiting the statue of liberty, stopping by to eat, there is so much to do!
Nice place to explore sculptures and state rides for the famous Statue of Libert cruise.
Cool and away from the hussle.
This park is an excellent place to view the Statue of Liberty from or take the ferry and get closer.
Nice park in the south of Manhattan with lots of green space and great views of the Statue of Liberty
In the end of November with sunset at 4h30pm I could taking beautiful sunset pictures
I love this park. It's so open and close to the water. Beautiful views and a place to relax.
It’s the nearest point for Seeing Statue of Liberty!! And closest to State ferry island! Beautiful place to visit
This area continues to grow! Great outdoor space, food choices and family fun. Parking is tough in the area though....
Fin to walk near The battery street. Very peaceful. We enjoyed
Beautiful, full of butterflies 🦋 and of course amazing views. Went to a cafe there before we boarded the ferry to Liberty Island. All people we came in contact with were friendly and helpful. …
Warning...
Visited to get the ferry to the status of liberty 🗽
As soon as we got out of the cab we're harassed by tour people. Do not do the tour. It takes hours and does even take you to the island.
The park itself is very nice and clean.
Great outdoor location for casual walks along the Hudson and views of sunsets.
It is the starting point to visit the Statue of Liberty, the name of the park comes from the batteries that protected the entrance to the port of NY. It has a very beautiful and unique carousel, with fish that simulate a fish tank ... at night it is spectacular.
Nice park.
You can get a little view of the Statue of Liberty 🗽 from there. …
Amazing place for jogging running and enjoying the sea view
Nice park where you can enjoy the view while you wait for the ferry to laddy liberty
It is a unique and wonderful playground, even fun for adults!!!
Marble, very high slides, they were scary for me 😄 but my kids loved it.
All the play tools were unique, cool and fun to play with. All ages of kids would love it but it's best for 5 and up in my opinion - unless you want to do everything with them (which might be scary 😄). There is also the best carousel ever, Sea Glass!!! Highly recommend.
Neat, albeit small historical structure. There is a small adjacent park. About 10-15 minutes to see everything.
Good place to see the Statue of Liberty without riding in boat
Very nice view also very long line for the ferry. For the Liberty Island ferry don’t forget the make a online booking cause they don’t do it other way.
Pretty park! Didn't realize the Statue of Liberty would be as far as it was from the pier, couldn't really see it. But the park was pretty & had some beautiful views of Staten too!
Every military and airplane enthusiast should visit here at least once in their lifetime. Lots of amazing history.
Peaceful and not crowded at all. For a stroll in a park with the city as your backdrop this place is a must visit
A very nice park filled with the history of New York.
Check out my YouTube channel aboricualifeinusa and Instagram and please subscribe. The door to the statue of liberty. Restrooms and some vendors around. There's is a museum also.
It's such a picturesque place during sunset!
I do love this park and all it has to offer. My only beef with this spot is that they shut down the lawn and my children love to feed the squirrels, it’s truly a highlight for them so I was disappointed. But, the park is beautiful, the view is amazing, and the carousel is pretty cool, and you should do it at night?
An amazing piece of history. The location makes it easy accessible from Brooklyn or New Jersey. From there you can take the ferry to Liberty island and complete the experience.✅🤙 …
Beautiful park with large, unique playground for kids. Lots of food vendors around including halal and fresh fruit sellers. Waterfront view of the Statue of Liberty and launch point for the free Staten Island Ferry. Easy subway and bus access.
Beautiful park with so much things to do!!
Nice area to see the Statue of liberty, but keep in mind that you can only see it from the side, and is better on a clear day
NIce stroll before you embark for either Lady Liberty or Staten Island.
Beautiful Park by the sea. I always enjoyed my lunch break there on the lawn.
A leisure morning walk with a beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty is a bliss. The place has been sufficiently maintained and walking by the waterfront is totally worth it. From here you board / book tickets for ferry or cruise to Staten Island and for Liberty. The security has been beefed up here and there are lot of items that you can't carry with you. Like they mentioned, it will be airport like security before you board the ferry.
Nice park. They have an updated playground. Sometimes they are kid friendly events there. You can catch the boat to Statue of Liberty from here. Also there's a restaurant at the park and different food vendors around. Outside of the park there's the Native American Museum.
Great view of the statue of liberty and plenty ferries to watch. Close by food carts wonderful spot for a walk
Battery Park is a great place to escape the chaos of the city and enjoy some fresh air. With beautiful views of the harbor, plenty of green space, and historic monuments, it's a must-visit for tourists and locals alike. Whether you're looking for a scenic stroll or a picnic with friends, Battery Park has something for everyone.
Beautiful scenery. A little chilly this time of year (January/February) but the view was absolutely beautiful.
It is a convenient place if one has to visit Statue of liberty
Picked up ferry here to visit liberty 🗽 staff were organised and friendly …
Great views of the Statue of Liberty from this location. Central location to the boat tours of Staten Island and bus tours.
Battery Park it's not the way I remember it it seems to be overgrown with weeds or some kind of plants it doesn't seem to be the way the beauty of it used to be but it's still Battery Park and it's still somewhere that you should visit when you're in New York of course you have to go through there to see the Statue of Liberty
You can spend all day and time. Some entrainment in park. Just take your own food.
Terrific park. Always lots to see. Then caught the Staten Island Ferry. Great view of the Statie of Liberty.
Nice place to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds.
Lovely park with a great view of the bay, nice place to get away from the noise of the city.
Governor’s island is a contiguous history for the development of Manhattan.
From local Indians grazing their stock.
Through the wars, each having a monument to the past.
Today you can camp out, ride your bike and enjoy the harbor.
Perfect place for a high rise rotating restraint.
Lovely small city park where you can seat and enjoy the ocean and the view if Lady Liberty and NJ. It is a relaxing place to get away from the concrete jungle. It is noisy though because of the ferries and sometimes more than others. There are basically all the metro stations there so it is very well connected to the rest of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens.
A nice park at the very south edge of Manhattan Island . There are good views of the statue of liberty, Hudson river and Newark. Places to sit and walk with sculptures as well. It's a nice respite from the concrete and steel with trees, a walk and the water.
An amazing spot to chill, walk around, take the kids to enjoy the day.
I would love to visit this place again.
Beautiful place close to de docks and with nice views of Liberty Island
Beautiful view of Lady Liberty.
Nice green space with a decent kids playground.
Good, but need more kiosks with hot food
It is beautiful and has a lot of crazy stuff going on on weekends! Try it!
Very busy park but more than just an entry to the transport to Liberty Island. Interesting sculpture and Castle Clinton, which is one of the first places to process immigrants. To the left as you face the Statue of Liberty is access to the Staten Island Ferry.
You can see the Statue of Liberty🗽 on a clear sunny day.
You can go to Liberty island by cruise about $24 …
Battery park was lovely spot to spent some time for a coffee and a stroll!
Battery park is one of my favorite parks. It is rich in history, culture and is family friendly. There is a fun merry go round , bike lanes, running area, chairs and benches. It’s a cute date spot. I met my hubby there for our first date! I enjoy watching the Staten Island ferry go in and out. Watch out for scammers trying to sell you expensive tickets to go to see the Statue of Liberty. If you want the whole lady Liberty/Ellis island experience follow the signs till you get to legit ticket kiosk. If you want to see lady Liberty the”budget friendly way”, take a free ride on the huge orange Staten Island ferry boat!
We really liked our visit.
Great place to catch a sunset and watch the statue of Liberty from across the water.
a beautiful, bustling park with tons to do — go on a nice sunny day and enjoy a picnic in the grass. i saw many pets around as well. a noisy place, but still very relaxing!
Great sky line, beautiful buildings, a lot of history.
Sea Glass Carousel was whimisical and sweet. World War 2 memorial is moving. The battery park play space looks amazing for younger kids. This is the place to catch the ferry for Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty. Wished they had better signage for finding everything.
Its the place for you to catch the ferry to the Statue of Liberty Island. Many halal foods nearby
It's a really nice park but there are many people there trying to sell you tickets to see the status of liberty. Do not go with them. Buy your tickets ahead of time and or purchase at the booth
Great river side spot.
Best views of liberty Island and Ellis island. Plenty of benches. Fun to watch people fishing and lots of food places nearby. Lots of children during the weekend.
Simply beautiful. If you don’t go down there when the lights are all lit up and when it’s evening time in people are walking about and talking and laughing you really miss out, so go enjoy yourself take one evening just to walk around the battery and battery park.
A lovely place to visit if you want to chill out and relax away from the hustle and bustle.
There's loads of places to grab a bite to eat and lots of shaded areas escape the heat in the summer months.
Beautiful, stunning. A must see.
This place is great, with a big playground for kids,
Gorgeous view of the Statue of Liberty and the waterfront.
good place to walk smell the sea and its breeze
Lovely park in the midst of the city. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit.Busy and had something for everyone from jogging to fishing. And tour boats for tourists. Unfortunately, ladies restrooms needed some attention.
Absolutely love Battery Park. If you come to visit, make sure you arrive early enough so that you can walk around Castle Clinton and learn about the very unique history of the monument which served as the headquarters for the Americans, the British, and even once served as an aquarium. There's a lot of different statues and monuments throughout the park and with views of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, what's not to love!
Great walking paths that connect to the Hudson Greenway
Good park for free views of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.
Nice view of the Statue of Liberty. Great park for kids to play.
Amazing place unforgettable memorable place to visit …
In doing the tourist attractions, we came to The Battery. Cute little park with benches to rest from all the walking. We came to see the Statue of Liberty and ended up taking the ferry. It took us first to Liberty Island where the stature is. When you get off the ferry there is an outdoor cafe. Next stop was Ellis Island and then back to The Battery. Had a great time.
Great views of the Statue of Liberty and great food in this area!
For whatever reason I find this place very peaceful. It may be because of the veteran and service memorials - very humbling. Glad they've carved out this area as a garden-like grotto/park. I visit here every time I'm in NYC.
Good place , but I think you will mainly visit it as your transit towards Statue of liberty. But to add it's very near to the American museum of American Indiana , which has free entry and also very near to the wall Street bull.
This park is full of history❤️
Very cool area with some great views and nice memorials. I could do without the hawkers trying to sell you tours but for the most part if you tell them no they scamper on to the next person.
Great spot to chill for any amount of time downtown. Good to trot over or just sit, watch the harbor & consider how blessed we are to have this beautiful city. Oh and its all built on repurposed debris. Imposed or will to pit a park where there was just swamp and saltwater.
Such a lovely park with remarkable statues, playgrounds, Koirala ponds and chairs to just sit & relax while eating your hot dog or Falafel from the food vendors. It's clean and serene and felt very safe.
Lovely park! Perfect day and cool energy 😎 …
Visiting from Houston, TX.
Great place to site see, just took the subway. Surprisingly they are clean on this side of town. Good spot for some photography as well
Love the display and rememberce of those we lost.
Also a good spot to see Lady Liberty from he back left side. Costal water and skyline are a great sight 👀
Go there for a nice walk before you go on the ferry ⛴️
Lots of exploring to be had here. Seek out the slides at the kids park ;)
If you love the sunset this it's the best place for you.
I loved this park. You can see the Statue of Liberty from here, Jersey City on the other side and lots of other things. Recommended!
First time... Camp Clinton was a nice surprise.
A quick visit to NYC over Labor day holiday. An early morning stroll through Battery Park and nearby 9/11 memorial. Enjoyed the scenery and historic significance. Need to come back and take ferry out to Statue of Liberty and Ellis island after Covid. So much to explore!
Wonderful place to have a pleasant even walk. Very well maintained park. Very clean, nice blend of city life with serene air of sea
So Beautiful Park In New York 🏙 …
Very beautiful area for a walk. Beautiful nature and you can board the ferry to statin island. You can still see the Statue of Liberty from far away. There’s lots of benches for sitting and a old castle to see.
Nice spacious park with a view of the Statue of Liberty. Serves as the boarding dock for ferries and you’ll find some food stalls and performances happening here and there.
The Battery is wonderful. Its a shame that it can't keep a bathroom working. The Men's bathroom was virtually impossible to get out of (it seemed necessary to press a button and open the door simultaneously - it took two of us) and impossible to get into without someone exiting first. Someone had the great idea of propping up the door with a trashbin. Inside one of the two urinals was out of order. I filed a 311 Maintenance in a Park complaint. 311-13008854.
Small garden, but nice on the waterfront. Some lovely memorials and you should wander through if taking any of the ferries or excursions. Lots of street traders in the afternoon.
Been to NYC several times and had never been to this park. It's kind of far from most of the other attractions in the city, but wow was this a beautiful place to visit!
Amazing sunsets. Been coming to this park since I was a teen. 35 years later and never get tired of it. Awesome views
Great park, too cold in winter
Mainly full of ticket vendors, selling boat and helicopter trips..
Nice view the Statue of Liberty from here. It's not a bad park considerating its in the middle of the city. There's plenty of things to do right in the area.
It's a beautiful park that would otherwise earn four or five stars. Unfortunately the park has been overrun by scam artists selling fake tickets to the Statue of Liberty (Warning to tourists / only the US Federal Government sells tickets to the Statue of Liberty at Castle Clinton at the ticket booth/ do not buy tickets from runners - they usually are wearing red vests/shirts and roaming around and will approach you trying to sell you a ticket - the government does not sell tickets with runners). Unfortunately you now cannot take a nice walk without being faced with marijuana smoke.
Spent brief period here before visiting Ellis Island and a helicopter ride. Only place in New york coty that has sunshine for a long period of time! Haha Nice area for a stroll.
Very organised staff helping you get on the boats.
Beautiful place but only passed it whilst waiting for a bus.
To BOARD the Ferry FOR the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, you must GO THROUGH the WHITE security tent behind CASTLE CLINTON. They open at 0830 and stop screening at 1500 ( 3:00 PM). Do with this information as you see fit.
Very nice place for evening walks. Great view of Statue of Liberty. Staten Island ferry is at walking distance, which is by the the best way for Statue of Liberty photography 🤫 many beautiful flowers, plants and trees are in park. Perfect for small Sunday picnic. …
Beautiful park destined for tourists because from there depart the boats to go to the Statue of Liberty and other river tours. It is very well maintained, it is quiet and relaxing, special to start the journey to the financial center and other nearby attractions, Staten Island ferry, the heliport. Also has public toilets, a lot of restaurants, bars, a citibike station
A splendid tip spot of Manhattan.
Views, ferry rides and a unique carousel. Obviously touristy, but worth a trip. Some nice bench spaces facing the harbor where you can relax and smell the lavender and other plantings.
Plenty of benches for a nice day of sitting, though they were made of wood and the slats in between were not the greatest, slightly uncomfortable.
On a cold morning at battery park :) came to get our tickets for a trip to visit the Statue of Liberty and had to wait for a little while, my boy decided to take a nap.. The gardens were not in full bloom but I am sure they are amazing in summer.
This is an amazing place to relax. There were so many spots that were cool even when the sun was shining bright. This park is overlooked by tourists who are looking to take a ferry to Liberty Island. The entire park is well maintained and, there's a lot to explore. This is an activity that can be done even after your ferry ride. Be sure to check out the fountain.
Battery Park is a great place to go. If you like to hand feed squirrels, you can do it there. I don't think you're allowed to do that though so be careful. There's a place to get a cold beer and plenty of places to sit down. I would definitely plan to visit battery Park. Unless you're going on a tour, an hour and a half or so would be enough.
Place from where the statue of liberty boat ride starts. The place is at the South end of Manhattan. Walking distance to the Bull at Wall Street. Lot of area to walk or just simply to sit on benches and watch the Statue Of Liberty in a distance. Keep walking to the other end where we can find the Free Ferry to Staten Island. The ferry to Staten island goes past the Liberty statue in distance, so can have great views.
Beautiful park, great artwork hidden all over the park and beautiful views on the water front!! Great for walking and sightseeing, even though you are right in the city, you would never know it! Everything is free as well, and there is a snack bar by the park on the pier.
Beautiful! So refreshing to stop off on the subway and enjoy the fresher sea air, sunshine, trees, and sky. Fun views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Governor's Island, and lots of boats coming and going. Lovely parks and fountains as well.
Nice famous old park on New York City. Was not to crowded when I went there. Here you can get tickets and take the ferry to the statue of liberty. Right near the staten island ferry terminal. You have the Clinton Castle and other interesting sites in this park.
Beautiful and expensive. Breathtaking views of the Hudson, statue of liberty, and new jersey are an everydaypleasure, fantastic tourist attractions and historic locations within a short walk...of course, the world famous Wall street where the world economy is being auctioned off to the highest bidders is just a stone throw away
Best of all, the 911 memorial is a short walk away and ferries to staten Island are always available from here
Battery Park is a very beautiful park where the Staten island ferry lands after you come from the statue of liberty and Staten island. It's very close to Wall Street and the architecture of the buildings and the statuary surrounding the area is a great opportunity for photography. The Museum of Indian history is also to your right as you get off the ferry and enter battery Park if interested in going there as well. I've added a few photos of the charging pool which is just outside of battery Park.
This place is beautiful, and its the place you need to visit to get the tickets for the statue of liberty monument. The place is so green and clean, but the long queues for the tickets is really really unbearable. I wish there was something else that can be done to reduce that and make the place awesome again.
This place was beautiful! And there’s a bike trail that goes through a lot of Manhattan! I didn’t get to ride all of it though! But there’s also a ferry which you can take to Staten Island and back for free! The Sea Glass ride was very inexpensive and just awesome to watch! Sunset here was great too!
A walk into history here. It is a 5 star, I have it 4 because it was so freaking cold. (Not the parks fault). The old fort still stands, amazing discoveries here. Think back 2 to 300 years. Amazing. They discovered the wall in 2005. Yes, THAT wall referenced in the movie, national treasure. An interesting thing to find in this age of political agitation. A beautiful memorial to WWII lost souls. Powerful. I want to go back and spend more time exploring when it's warmer, like spring/ early summer.
A lot of improvements since December 2017. Can’t wait for the Navy memorial to be done when I return. Great place to sit or walk by the Hudson and look out at other landmarks. I like to draw and this park offers much for inspiration. This history of the park is very cool to so stop by the fort.
For a stunning view of New York downtown and across the river Jersey City downtown and Brooklyn on other side, this waterfront park is the best place to enjoy mesmerizing sunset behind lady liberty.
It's a good place for spending time with friends and family or even alone with different type of activity. The view is excellent. You can have a boat trip in Hudson River around the statue of liberty from here. Or even you can spend time there by just sitting in the park and enjoy the beautiful view of Hudson River. There is a restaurant inside the park. So if you are hungry then you can take some food as well. Overall the place good for spending time. only challenge is parking. If you take public transport then you are good. But if you take your own vehicle then you'll face difficulty to find a parking.
The Battery, true to its heritage as New York’s birthplace park, is open for enjoyment of the harbor and gardens.
For more than 200 years, The Battery has been an invaluable part of New York City’s history. In 1855, Castle Garden, situated inside the Park, became the world’s first immigrant depot. Decades before Ellis Island was built or the Statue of Liberty gazed down at incoming boats, millions of newcomers arrived at The Battery from Europe and elsewhere.
Although its role has changed, people from around the world still visit The Battery for a view of the city's past.
Pleasant park in lower Manhattan with beautiful views.
A deep historical location with monuments honoring those from our past that lead the way for the present.
In summer you’ll often hear a whirring sound.
Nice park to hang and take pictures, saw people running, walking, fishing, on bikes and just standing there enjoying the view.
Too far for pictures of Lady Liberty on phone cameras but still nice view.
This is a beautiful park to enjoy the sunset. It was breathtaking! But mostly can be crowded. If you take the Staten Island ferry it is free and can get to see Statue of Liberty as well.
Lovely area to walk and take photos of the bay and statues, there are quite a few people selling their merchandise around the park and alot of people selling ferry tickets but they're harmless
Nice park where the State Cruises take tourists to Liberty Island. There’s a carousel here an plenty of public toilets. You can get the ferry to Staten Island nearby too.
Best park in NYC, so clean and peaceful. It smells great bcs if all the flowers! And they’re is a great view of Jersey city, Eli’s island, and lady liberty. If your a local it is a great pet friendly park that isn’t too busy.
Very scenic, huge playground for the kids. Lots of photo opps. Nice place to have a walk and reflect...you can see the statue of liberty from there, bring binoculars for the best view.
It's a nice walking area. Keep watch for the Staten Island ferry! The statue of liberty cruise is on the dar left, just follow the signs.
Scenic views of the Statue of liberty and Ellis island. Nice to sit by the river and rest or eat lunch.Get out of the sun and stroll among trees. Tour bus stops at the outskirts of the park, if you have a pass. Convenient...
I love coming here. It’s nice to be out there during summer time.
Very Clean. Great area to tour and see both the world trade center and the statue of liberty. Also has a lot of great memorial statues around the park as well as beautiful flowers.
The place to get official tickets to the Statue of Liberty. There is a building to enter to purchase tickets and another queue to wait for the boat.
Other than that, the place is filled with tourists, performers and artists. A lot of food carts too. It is a very busy place, especially during holiday season.
Historic site with several points of interest, Park 🏞️is perfect to stroll around, sea breeze, Fort Clinton where Cruise tickets to Ellis island and statue of liberty's you can get, Glass carousel 🎠 with Sea creatures shaped like, several statues around, plus, Sun 🌄 was shining. …
Battery Park at the South end of Manhattan is a must see while in New York. Here you get a nice view to the sea, and in the distance you'll see the famed Statue of Liberty. Here is the East Coast Memorial, erected in the memory of all the fallen soldiers of the World War II. From here you can take the boats to Staten Island, to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It's easy to get here by the No 1 Subway. If you are located in upper Manhattan, you might consider to take the express trains No 2 or 3 to Chamber Street and change to 1 there
Go here to catch the perfect NYC sunrise! You will love it!
This place is a quick walk from the station 4 and 5. Bonus - it’s very closely located to the Staten Island Ferry - which is free :)
It never let's me down come here all year round it's just an amazing view. It's a really good place to hang out.
Battery park is beautiful!!! I came to New York for my 40th birthday Oct 1st. The weather was perfect the breeze was Heavenly right off the water we took a boat ride tour to see the Statue of Liberty, it was breathtaking
Nice calm place near the Hudson River to view the big cities on the side. The park is well maintained where people can sit back, relax and have some fun time with their kids. Dogs are also allowed where everyone can have their dogs run around the park.
Visiting New York just taking in all the beautiful scenery and historical site was a great experience.
Great green spot at the bottom of downtown ... Great view of the new York port system full of history... go in to Clinton castle to.buy Ellis Island and statue of liberty tour tickets, it's very confusing because of the repairs happening
Great view of the statue of liberty and the river.
Can get a bit windy. Also a couple of good places to eat. But if you want to save money, grab a dogor a pretzel and enjoy the views.
The battery itself is amazing. Love the Korean War Memorial and tribute to the Merchant Marines as well. Very classy.
The Battery Park is a very large park near the harbor. This is a great place to walk around or sit on a bench or on the grass for a picnic. There are a number of statues in the park, including a memorial to those who perished in the US Navy. You also get a great view of the Statue of Liberty from the park.
I love it , it is amazing all those old and new modern buildings. Hudson River, The Statue of Liberty to much to visit.
A good place to spend your time. I flew my drone from here and the views are stunning. A great place to fly your AUTHORIZED DRONE. Have your Drone license on hand. Evenings are awesome. You can enjoy a great sunset if it's not cloudy. The sun just sits behind the Liberty Lady. Battery Park is an Energizer 😎 . I will come here again and again and again 😀😜😍 one of the coolest spot in NYC.
Meeting point to take a boat to Staten Island or Liberty Statue with a beautiful scenery yo thé Hudson river
It was so educational I loved everything about it I had a great day just looking at all the immigrants that had originated over here years ago I had a wonderful day
A smoke-free garden, a lovely place to rest and enjoy, occasionally there are singing performances
I went for a run at this park and along the Hudson River on a cold November morning. It was great for running. I saw a couple of men fishing and some bike riders too. It's close to Wall Street and the One World Observatory. I took the subway and exited at that station then proceeded with my morning jog here. It was scenic and they made it jogger friendly.
Lots of construction had areas tapped off. The line for the Statue tours took up a good chunk of the park.
There was a lot to do here....it's definitely a must visit while NYC. The boat ride was great!
Great place with lots of fountains to cool down and lots of history and sculptures. Well maintained park.
They had a silent disco going on while I was there. You can also see the Statue of Liberty from this park. The World War II monument was also breathtaking to look at.
A coming together of many different cultures. Beautiful sun sets and pictures you can make memories with. There is a ferry to or around Ellis island and also the Statue of liberty. For those who enjoy picture keepsake memories, check out this fantastic sunset.
Beautiful playground for kids. 5 stars if it would have been water available at the public fontains
A comfortable walk among many mature trees towards 'The Battery', a colonial fortification formerly used to guard this part of New York and the River. A very unique, indoor, aqua carousel for kids of all ages is near the park's entrance. Get your ferry tickets in the Battery, the round brick building at water's edge, and by-pass the handful of scalpers offering tickets to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty along your route. Metro Line Number 1 is the best to take from Midtown/Times Square, down to end of the line, at 'South Ferry'. Or consider jumping off at stop 'WTC/Cortland' for a 911 Memorial visit, then stroll down Broadway to see the Brass Bull, and a myriad of food, craft, and trinket vendors, and into Battery Park.
Very nice park with memorials to our men and women who served America 🇺🇸 …
Nice but not much to do.
Even if you don't do the tour you can get a decent view of both The Statute of Liberty and Ellis Island.
Lovely to walk through an route to getting the boat to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
When you look back, you can see the New York skyline, through the tops of the trees.
Stunning 💗
Nice little park, but mostly where folk get on and off the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
Plenty of coffee options and a few historic sights, but mostly teeming masses and a longish walk to the metro (the line closest not operational at the weekend).
It's beautiful here. I didn't really know about this park after visiting NY many times in the past. There is a Navy memorial overlooking the Statue of Liberty. The park makes you feel like you aren't in Manhattan anymore with all the flowers and trees. Really peaceful and a great place to take a break on a hot day!
Great for dates and just hanging out with friends. Lots to do has statues and Monuments. Definitely a place to visit 👍 …
Loved the merry-go-round. It's unlike others I've seen. Be sure to get on one that goes up and down as not all of them do.
The playground looked great for littles, including a climbing wall.
Cool to see the Statue of Liberty from Manhattan. Wish we had time to ferry over. Very clean and lots of open space and walk way. Pier was excellent as well
Nice park to walk. There's a carousel, an old fort and this is where you catch the boat to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
Beautiful! Though I wish it possible to get closer to the water for views of the statue.
Pretty little park to see lady liberty. Make sure you see the adorable merry go around!
Went to Battery Park just to see "FLYBOY" and the Statue of Liberty. I would say daytime is the best time to roam around the park. There are articles that say you can see the liberty from here. Yes, however, you might have to bring binoculars in order to realky see it up close and personal... hehe. Went there at night so, maybe during the day would be a lot better. Still worth seeing.
Great waterfront park! We saw a wedding at the gazebo which was super cute. Dogs are allowed off leash :) and the neighborhood is gorgeous.
A beautiful place to walk and enjoy the views of New York!
Wonderful historical place with a grrreat view of the city, smaller island and New Jersey
It's easy to find off the subway. There are these guys that are supposes to help guide you, but if you ignore them they will have some snide comments for you. I heard them talk a lot of "stuff" to otherw in a very unprofessional manner because they -it seems- felt people were being rude to them. There are bike paths and a beautiful bay where you can look out to see the Statue of Liberty along with other monuments at the park. The Statue of Liberty ferris' doesn't seem to have scheduled times, so even if you bought tickets online for a certain time you can still go to the ferris.
I had an amazing time on the Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It was a great experience since everything has been closed down due to COVID. There weren’t too many people on the Ferry or during the visit to the Statue or Ellis Island. I look forward to returning with my kids.
Battery park is a great place to see the sunset or to admire the various statues around. From near the piers you can see the Statue of Liberty across the water or hop on a short cruise to Liberty/Ellis island.
Excellent area to visit with great views
Most of the public know this park as the entry and exit point of Statue of Liberty. If you want to go Statue of Liberty , take a taxi of Battery Park. Nearby area is crowded so you can spent some time here for relax.
Great park next to the coast and near the statue of liberty. Excellent place for a walk, rest and even sport since there's a volleyball field.
Nice view of the city and lady liberty 🗽. A must see at night. …
I love the Battery. I don’t live in NYC but when we visited New York we came here. It was a rainy day but still, it’s a wonderful park. Sort of saw the Statue of Liberty. Lovely place.
Very nice park. I've visited here in the Austin, but this was my son's first time being here. They were currently doing renovations...
Beautiful park with some great views and good dining options. You have a view of the city with skyscrapers and the water on the other side with a view of the statue of Liberty. Must visiting for jogging or running enthusiast.
It was fun seeing all of the different people going out to visit the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island.
Nice place to visit. They have a lot of food trucks and ice cream trucks. They also have park benches if you need to take a break from walking. Playgrounds are also available. Nice views of the Statue of Liberty.
Able to sit in the shade on a wide grassy area, on comfortable blue metal chairs scattered about the entire area in groups.
Spectacular views in all directions and many relaxed people - families, children, lovers, yoga classes, strolling about. So peaceful!
So many great views and a great park right near the financial district
Very wonderful park. One of the best parks in NYC. From here you can take the cruise to Liberty island as well as buying the tickets. There is also a WW2 memorial, Korean war memorial and many different things. You should definitely visit this park if you come to New York.
The best place for a picnic is at Battery Park. You can pack a meal, bring your blanket while watching people and boats go by.
There's view of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty just over the horizon. It's the perfect place spend your weekend or even a lunch break. There are plenty of places to eat at walking distance.
You certainly cannot call this a place for quiet contemplation. With the crowds of people and the trip boat captains barking out instructions. Yet, in this busy city it is a great place to sit and soak the view over to Staten Island, the statue of Liberty, Ellis Island etc. There was a yacht race happening whilst I was there, it was fun watching them line up against the outflowing tide. I walked down from midtown Manhattan stopping at the various parks and memorials on the way. It's not too far off you've reasonable fitness and on the weekend the financial district is relatively quiet in terms of traffic. You see more on foot.
Wonderful atmosphere, I was delighted with new york as a whole
Great park with views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
Really nice to walk around here, lots of green and benches to sit down for a quick lunch while looking at the statue of liberty or fidi, and it is also where you can take the free commuter ferry to staten island. There are also many tour ferries to Ellis island and the statue of liberty departing from here.
Highly recommend as an early morning stop. The 30 minute tour before going to Liberty Island was very well done. We took the subway from midtown @ 7:30 am and were in Battery Park by 7:50. Area was very peaceful.
Beautiful park. Busy during the day, very peaceful and quiet at night! ☺☺☺
Definitely five stars! Such a beautiful peaceful park!
Such a nice place to relax and take in the skyline and enjoy the city! Close proximity to the Smithsonian and subway make it a great stop and the Seaglass Carousel is magical! I love the tribute walls and immigrant statues located there. The vegetable garden is a fabulous idea as well!
I love all parks in NYC and The Battery is no exception. You can see the Statue of Liberty from here. There are also some interesting monuments here, including one for Giovanni da Verrazzano and the Korean War. Exiting Battery Park, there is an awesome view of One World Trade Center.
Great park at the southern tip of manhattan. lovely view across to statue of liberty, seats available too if you don't want to sit on the grass. worth a visit!
Always love this section of downtown, the lawn was closed off for a while but now it's opened and has quite a few chairs to relax in. I tend to visit the battery in the late weekday afternoon and surprisingly it hasn't been that crowded, a few tourists but nothing crazy, on weekends that tends to be a different story of course. Perfect area for just resting, taking pictures, having a little bite to eat, picnic, or read a book (not sure if people still do that):-)
The lawn is well maintained, however you may want to bring some bug repellent... Last time I visited I couldn't stay as long as I wanted to because I was being eaten up by gnats/ flies...
Beautiful park at the bottom of Manhattan, NYC. Great place to relax. Has many monuments for tributes to fallen military in foreign wars. This is also the place to catch a ride to see the Statue of Liberty 🗽. There is a very excellent view of the One World Tower on the left-hand side of the park. …
Great place especially for walks or just spending some quality time with the family.. marine memorial nearby and you take a ferry to statue of liberty from here..
Wonderful site , inspiring view of the sky scrapers ,easy access taking near by ! What more can u ask for !
It's relaxing you can bring your kids to play at the playground take the Staten Island ferry for free to go back and forth see the Statue of Liberty
Visited at sunset. The park is a bit overgrown and shabby. I like places like this. There were purple cone flower and what looked like pumpin vine growing in some of the flower beds. We took a few minutes and watched the sunset. The benches were comfortable and it was a really relaxed place.
Beautiful place. You can see statue of liberty from far.
Very cool place to watch the sunset and if you love dogs there is a dog park here was well where we just enjoyed watching everyone else's dogs play and have fun.
Went to Battery Park and did an amazing walking 6 mile walking tour with my husband.
Although I have been here a hundred times, it is always a breath of fresh air, and makes you feel alive, in the game of life.
Beautiful park with plenty of activities for children. Huge, and I mean huge, playground. If visiting in the summer, remember to bring a bath suit or at least a change of clothes for your kids because they will get well. There’s a splash pad (I think that’s what those are called) that your kids will run in to play with and get soaked.
Super nice parkland right on the edge of the Hudson River with spectacular water and New Jersey views at Lower end of Manhattan. Watch the Staten Island Ferries motor back and forth to Long Island. Park is full of benches, manicured and wild areas, with plenty of shade and sunny spots. Vendors near by too for snacks or souvenirs. Clean Washrooms as well.
from here you catch ferry to Statue of Liberty.. awesome place.
New construction is amazing. I had a wonderful time with my grand daughter. The park is spectacular for the CHILDREN. We caught a puppet show that she truly enjoyed.
This is one of the most beautiful views/vantage points and beautifully-maintained parks in Manhattan, in my opinion. If ever passing through Whitehall/The Staten Island Ferry, Battery Park City, or just in the Financial District, and just need a quick respite, I recommend stopping by here for a breather, or just a breath of fresh air.
Good place to bring kids. Carousel is having fish shaped seating, different then other carousel. One can view Statue of Liberty and visit Clinton castle. Very open park with seating available. Restaurant for eating and drinks also open till evening. Food carts outside for quick bite.
Love the walk around the battery park during the evening when the sun is going down. Ample places to get some thing to eat and drink while you are relaxing by the water. Ideal place to go for a run or take a bicycle ride along the promenade.
Awesome historic park. Historical location where Alexander Hamilton helped capture canons from the British at the start of the American revolutionary war. Great view across the Hudson Bay at many historic landmarks.
The Border Protection memorial Statue can be found in The Park, the signs for the ferry to the Statue of Liberty are poor, so you should check in advance where the ferry leaves.
Very good park to stay in and have a quality time with quite relaxing view.
Took a cruise from battery park to the statue of liberty and the tour guide Rachel was so informative and made all the history interesting and her personality was so welcoming. Def was an awesome experience and worth it.
My youngest son took me there, and we had sooo much FUN!! It was my first time there and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Of course being with my son was the main reason I was so happy. We walked all around the place, discovering all kinds of neat and fun little nooks along the trails, of which there were MANY.
One trail took us to an area where there were large, fun house type mirrors and we took a few pictures of ourselves.
We ended up by this very long walkway along the waterway that runs under the Brooklyn Bridge. We sat there for about two hours watching different boats, birds, and chatting and laughing so much.
LOVED my experience there and will definitely go back for a longer visit.
What a great place. Take your time here. Got pedestal tickets.
It's a pretty beautiful park, the PERFECT place for a picnic and having the kids around playing. There's a lot of beautiful flowers and even Lavender!!! Which i love their smell.
Nice clean park with views of statue of liberty and bridges, with access to ferry tours.
Cool park. It's very beautiful and very green. Beautiful view of the water
It was awesome experience there.
Try to visit in sunny day. And book tickets online to avoid any fraud
Very busy, fun & fall was a great time to go.
I know due to covid, alot of places have changed, including this one. Alot of the places were not taken care of. The playground is destroyed and awaiting another replacement in its place. Let's see if the visitors actually keep it clean this time.
There are much better parks in NYC, but this is a great place to go to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Financial District that it borders.
You'll find good eats at Battery Park Gardens and Pier A Harbor House, both with great views of the river. Also worthwhile are boat and ferry rides departing from the park or from the nearby Staten Island ferry station.
Nice park. You will be able to see the Statue of Liberty from there. And will see the rides going out and many live small shows o the park. We enjoyed the sea ride was out favorite thing to do while there and the comic pictures of us.
Really cool spot to come chill. Great place to take in the sights and enjoy some of the local beauty. A little cloudy when I went, but still enjoyed it.
Some bathrooms around, but not many.
Also plenty of restaurants you can visit.
Super helpful lady police officer helped me find my way as my phone was low on battery. Thank you!
This park is really nice to be, see the sunset, have a small walk. It is also the connection to the 🗽 the liberty statue, Ellis Island and the museum of native American. It's a most stop on your trip in NY. …
Clean besides by the water front. The playground has been remodeled from the one of my childhood and its cute. I wish there was more for adults to do. Way too many street venders and not enough street performers.
One of Go To places while you're in NYC - enjoy the view at any time of day! Plus, there's Staten Island Ferry nearby which is absolutely free of charge and will give you good opportunity to enjoy the Skyline AND Lady Liberty at a decent distance! Just make sure you'll sit on the right side
As long as you stay here and don't go up it's not too bad. The history is very rich and the people aren't bad. Traffic is less than to be desired
Lovely day and so well kept! There's so much to see. I can understand why it's so popular.
You can get a great view of the Statue of Liberty. Music, dancers, food and plenty of benches. There are public restrooms in the Battery Gardens building too.
Pretty neat little park!
Lively and shady family park - crowded cos of the statue of liberty-NY cruises. Restrooms close to the entrance and plenty of spots in the shade to sit and relax. 10 min walking distance from the rector st-R metro line and the South ferry - #1 Metro lines. There was a children's fair going on and the aquatic merry go round was crowded. Overall-looked like a place to relax in a busy area. Take the subway to get here easily. However, the metro station entrances are not stroller-friendly.
Nice things to see, 4 stars, because they didn't let us buy tickets for the Statue of Liberty just after they closed, even though we begged and it was our last day in New York.
It is nice if you are around the area, good place to watch the statue of liberty 🗽 …
Battery park, sunny grass lawns, water all around. Look south towards the Verrazano, to your left is the Staten Island Ferry, to the right is Wagner park. East is Europe, the Lady faces East welcoming the old world.
Great Park. Sun and water.
A very nice place to hang out and walk around before boarding the ferry to New Jersey. It is clean, nicely maintained and the ambiance is just right. Beautiful flowers and well maintained gardens.
The Battery area is an unusual beautiful place.
My husband and I spend there almost every evening for 2-3 hours.
Safe, calm, and amazing view all around.
Great experience. Nice park to enjoy the riverside
It's at the gateway to so many things- Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Staten Island. But also, just a cool place to walk around and take in views of the harbor.
Green spaces in populous city like new york r Praiseworthy
FREE FERRY TO STATEN ISLAND AND BACK TO NY WHERE YOU CAN ENJOY THE NYC VIEW. BEUTIFULL
The Battery is place where we boarded the cruise for Statue of Liberty. The place is little crowded on the weekend but has good vibes with live music by individuals. There are other activities such as caricatures by artists.
Awesome park escape right at the end of the city. During the late afternoon hours on a weekday, its best to visit. Less crowds and with the pandemic era, much less. People keeping their distance, masks are worn around closer circles, dogs playing amicably and great views of the water and Lady Liberty! Many New Yorkers have yet to see the WWII memorial Statue and Walls facing Lady Liberty.
A nice place to have a wonderful view of the city.
Don't forget to take the Staten Island ferry, so you could enjoy an amazing view of the sky scrappers.
Battery Park is quite lovely. Beautiful gardens and statues. Places for kids to play. Boat tours leave from pier 6 next to Clinton Castle Fort. A nice place to walk around
Beautiful park! Highly recommend to go around sunset. Very close to Staten Island ferry. There’s also a very cute carousel
I liked it to go for a picnic with my partner or with the family, to go for a walk. take photos because new jersey is seen in the distance.
Beautiful park with amazing views but it was soooo cold in November. We could see the Statue of Liberty in the distance. I want to go back again when it’s not quite so cold!
Everything was under construction and the signs were non-existent to help you avoid getting trapped in a dead end
Battery Park is on the south end of Manhattan island and the Financial District. The park is beautiful designed with riverfront walking paths, green space with plenty of seating plus quick access to New York’s famous food trucks. The pack is also the ferry terminal for Liberty Park (Home of the Statue of Liberty) and Ellis Island. The area also features a military memorial was a huge eagle surrounded by the names of those who served in the United States Armed Forces for the state of New York.
A very calming environment with a unique view of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty.
This is an excellent place to sit and relax and soak up views of the Statue of Liberty or Manhattan. There is plenty of greenery, seating and things to do. Highly recommend going here
Lots to do here, go to the statue of liberty or Ellis Island. Get hotdogs or icecream. Maybe there will be street performers like today or people doing portraits in a few minutes. You won't be bored
Ferris for statue of liberty leave from here. They offer military discount. If you are a tourist take the subway its much cheaper get off at the batter park station for statue of Liberty
It a good park to just walk around and relax. Great kids park and 3 different slides
And plenty of areas to sit and eat
Can be very busy at times due to tourist
Amazing views on the water steps away from the Ferry. Amazing sunset and spend sometime watching local fisherman. Next to a couple restaurants. A very long walk way that you can go for a stroll or jog.
Take the number one train to the last stop and you will find yourself at the tip of Manhattan island. This is the Southernmost point called Battery Park. That is because of the historic canons station there. This is an excellent place to take photos of the Statue of Liberty, you can also take the Staten Island Ferry for free. Be careful buying tickets for any attractions from the street peddlers, I heard some stories about people being scammed. Enjoy!!!
If you know what's Bull and Bear, your dream is to come to NYC to see it in reel life and how many people are waiting in line to touch it and take some photos for souvenir.
We took a ferry tour from battery Park. Quick 10 minutes walk from Brooklyn Bridge. There are lot of different water tours operating out of Battery Park terminal. Ferry to Exchange Place, NJ from Battery park. You see good glimpse of One World skyscrapers.
Beautiful park with views of Lady Liberty and free Castle Clinton which has diaramas of the transformation of the fort through the years. There's a small waterpark for the kids too. Ferries leave from here regularly to the Stature of Liberty and Ellis Island.
Beautiful place to share with special people.
Great park, marred by the long queue for Liberty Island.
Liberty Island: what a badly handled event. So many people visiting with their New York city pass and whatnot, not releasing their pass only lets them queue with everyone else. Fast track doesn't exist.
1. Queue for your ticket. Everyone has to.
2. Queue to get on the ferry. Not everyone has to.
If you're in a group of 2 or more. Split up and visit each of the above. When the ticket holder gets the tickets make their way to the FRONT of the queue, no questions asked. Here's the best bit. The second person who was in the queue for the ferry, when they reach the front of the queue, WAIT (there's a holding area for everyone who doesn't have a ticket yet). All meet up at this area (3 blue umbrellas) and then go in. There's refreshments and toilets on the ferry. Limited seating. The best views are not on the Islands, but on the ferry arriving and leaving each island.
Good little place to visit. Nothing special to see but if you want a picture of the Statue of Liberty without taking a boat tour there's lots of things to see making you're way to the water and all along the coast there. I wouldn't say worth going out of your way to see but if you're in that area and/or like I said not taking a boat tour to see the statue then worth walking around a little to see some of the things there.
Beautiful views of Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Coffee and food stands are all over the park. Ferry rides are available to go across the Hudson.
Didn't get tk really enjoy our time out here. I just wanted to see the statue of liberty and two guys were trying to mooch us. Smh, next time we will go with our family that's from NY.
Nice place boarded the ferry here. Didn't spend long at the place though
Catch a ferry here to see Liberty Island.
Pre book your tickets. Gets very busy.
I haven’t been back to battery park since the remodel. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Not only was the weather perfect but the park was super clean.
Food, entertainment, alot of seating, shaded park. Good place to people watch. It's the entrance to the ferry for the Statue of Liberty
The park is a prime place to see the bridges and enjoy the skyline of Manhattan. It's popular but beautiful enough to be worth braving the crowds. Walking across Brooklyn bridge is an priceless experience, too.
Great view, can see the Statue of Liberty
Not sure why they have fenced off the coast line. Hard to take pictures of the statue of liberty with the fencing. Maybe they want more folks to take the ferry ride.
Good park. Little to no signage to direct ppl to find place to get on the ferry
Great job Newyorkers for turning this place around. What a beatiful memorial!
Great views and access to the city run ferries. The Governor's Island ferry building is the old ferry terminal completely rehabilitated with a massive restaraunt on top with a great view.
Very clean, lots to do and see. Beautiful views of the harbor and the statue of liberty. Only drawback is being constantly approached by pushy "vendors" selling ferry tickets.
Beautiful park overlooking the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Got here right at sunset and after the crowds of tourists had departed. Just a wonderful urban park!
Great statues and a great view of the Statue of Liberty
Nice looking area
This is where you can view statue of liberty in the water. Nice place and there are actually bathrooms to use. Was pretty breezy so bring a wind breaker.
Half of park shut down and looks like it's been a while as the building need cleaning. Some construction going on. But very busy with both locals and tourist
Park, with a view to remember. Old fort, and lots of space.
Extense park at the tip of Manhattan Island. Statue of Liberty - Ellis island ferry leaves from here. As do a couple of other ferries. On one side is the old Globe that was between the two WTC towers, it is smashed on the top. Nearby is the Free National Indian Museum, wonderful artifacts and costumes, plus a Customs facility with ornate ceilings.
Cute little park, don’t listen to the people on the street if you want a tour of liberty or Ellis island you find the national park entrance nearby not the street 3rd part vendors.
Battery Park has has various attractions within the park and a great backdrop for pictures. It's an extremely busy tourist spot. When weather permits, start out early enough to take in the sights. Try to catch the amazing Shakespeare theater toward the early evening/dust hours in Battery Park. Each scene is located in different areas of the park, and it is quite fun actually. The professional actors all perform with exquisite showmanship.
This is the place to see the Statue of Liberty from the edge of NYC. You can get I. The Ferry to get to the island, but get there super early. There’s a huge line. Or you can just look at her from the park.
Beautiful park, lots to see and do
Restroom nearby. There is plenty of grass and seating to take a rest. The area has several other features like a splash pad, seaglass carousel, and the East Coast Memorial.
The view is beautiful I like when I am in the park i love to go by the water and relax definitely it's in the city by the staten island ferry and restaurants and if you have little kids they have this little ride too it's nice for the family or even yourself or if you have a dog to run around with and play catch it's just a nice feeling
It’s a great place to see different kinds of people around, always busy with tourists who love to go to see Statue of Liberty, beautiful view and place to go to catch a ferry to go watch the liberty
Nice and tidy park. You can enjoy walking around or bench-sitting here. Relaxation. From here you can also take a ferry to the Statue of Liberty. Otherwise, you have a beautiful view on it from park. There are many outdoor shows in the park. As well as some monuments honoring soldiers and explorers.
One of the best parks to see history and a stunning view. I live in .we York and still get excited to go to "The Battery: ❤
