Reviews of Rockefeller Park

Went on a very nice and long walk. Found this area with cute and whimsical figurines. It was a delightful surprise. We walked an entire length of the waterfront, from South Street Seaport to High Line. Wonderful walk. Just a side note: Restrooms along the way were very clean.
Mohammad Hamdani
A walk distance from World Trade Center station. A great park to spend the whole afternoon! You can enjoy watching the sunset here as well! A great view of the Hudson River. A well-maintained park with beautiful gardens all over the park.
Stratmangler 27
Well maintained and it has a great view of One World trade center aside from the view of the Hudson river.
You can tell that the city makes sure that this place is clean, fixed and updated. Even on a cold day, the place get s a lot of visitors.
Miramar Lee
Grassy lawns for picnicking in the warmer months and this duck pond with falling water and plants year round. Along the water in a cove, there was a billiard table placed with no ball and cues. I assume you have to retrieve the ball and cues from the activity center near the swings. The playground for all ages is very well designed with lots of elevated bridges, poles, ladders and play spaces. Really fun place for families with children when the weather is nice!
Kara Connolly
Gorgeous park, between the fields of grass, the coy/duck pond, the path/views along the water, the playground - beautiful & very well taken care of. My hat goes off to the Parks department who take care of this park, you guys are doing a fantastic job & that's no easy thing in NYC so thank you!

Loving the ping pong tables. A really nice place for to go for a run in the evening or just hang around on a blanket with a book. The view is amazing and overwhelming at the sunset. Sometimes crowded but really worth it.
Waqas Ahmad
Great park for an evening stroll. There is a lush green playground for the kids to stroll. Jogging track on the edge gives a panoramic view of Jersey city skyline!
Daniel Bryant
A great place to hang out at sunset in the summer. The views over Jersey City are amazing. You can chill on the grass, or join the walkers, runners, and bikers (which get particularly numerous in the evening)
shirelle pearson
The weather was gorgeous! I felt safe, and surrounded by great beauty looking across the water and taking in the skyline. The flora was bountiful, and varied. Saw many butterflies, which enhanced our experience.
Janet De La Rosa
A nice place to walk, enjoy the incredible landscapes and very relaxing. A must yo visit in NYC.
Teresa Gillian
We chose a new spot with family members who we found out share our 4th of July anniversary! Peaceful and up close Sparks of entertainment! We even got many compliments on our set up. Good times NYC!!
Annette Annette
A quiet spot with beautiful gardens. Great for leisurely lunchtime walks. Plenty of benches overlooking the Hudson. There is also green space for soaking up the sun
Omi T
This is a really nice park. Even though it gets busy there always seems to free bench to sit. A nice variety of restaurants, shops, and entertainment in the area. Easy access via the Oculus to the Path and a bunch of trains make it super accessible.

One of my favorite parks in the city. The park is always clean and well kept. The views are just amazing, and it has a large and clean public bathroom across the street.

Nice & beautiful place for whatever you like to do - chill, work, play, spend quality time with family, walk, workout, you name it. As much as I love Central park, I do love this recreation space either! Highly rec👍 …

One of my favorite parks to do sunset picnics in Manhattan 😍 with whole foods nearby and incredible views toward the river, it's one of the cutest parks in NYC. The only issue is that the public restroom is closed at this time and it's really... really important. …
Elvis Jimenez
Awesome outdoor space plenty of relaxing spots sunny or shaded, lots of activities for kids, fountain with fish in it lots of picturesque views and spots for taking family pictures. It is worth spending time there you can also pop into the mall to use the facilities

Nice park for an evening stroll. There is a lush green playground for the kids to stroll. Jogging track on the edge gives a panoramic view of Jersey city skyline!

When my dad sent me pictures of him and his lady playing pool in the park I immediately issued a challenge. So this past weekend I took the kids along to hang out with grandpa. The parks is nice right up next to the water front and has a basketball court pig pong tables enough real estate for a nice family picnic and you also have access to the Manhattan Water taxi which takes you in to new jersey.. however finding parking is going to be a bit of a challenge.. fortunately I was able to grab a spot as soon as someone pulled out.. now finally we got down to business and played several rounds of pool while onlookers probably mostly tourist's passing by stopped to take pictures of the family playing pool on a comfortable summer Sunday afternoon.. we stayed till about 5pm or so everyone winning an loosing a couple rounds.. you must bring your own pool cue and balls and also chalk.. don't be to idle while playing because stranger as will come up and invite themselves to come and play with your props a game of pool and yes without asking as if the city provides the gear for the pool table.. they used to however since the pandemic they no longer have the area manned so the public can use the gear. I'm definitely looking forward to the next game day. 🐻

Amazing park, people having lunch on the beautiful grass; kid’s on the playground and splash water nice views, bring your energy and enjoy

Rockefeller park is one of the best places to sit in New York City where there are not a lot of tourist, not very populated and you can really just go and sit in regular NYC lifestyle. The park has a lot of benches a play ground for young kids and a nice big grassy area for you to bring a blanket and enjoy a nice book or hangout with some friends or your significant other. The view of New Jersey and specifically Exchange Place is beautiful and a great change from seeing the NYC skyline.
Carl Allen
Beautiful park! Easily accessible with plenty of bike and walking paths. Seemed like very safe area (daytime). Great area for picnic, frisbee, sun bathing etc. Definitely worth a visit if you're in NYC and like to be outdoors.
Humayra Noor
This park does not get as much appreciation as battery park when this has arguably better environment, better views, and a very relaxing atmosphere. It has really clean and hygienic public bathrooms, so having a picnic here or just relaxing the whole day here won’t be a problem because of how safe and clean the environment of this park is!
Jacquelyn A
Super peaceful. Everyone is maintaining their distance and keeping their masks on for the most part. Lots of space, nice breeze. The perfect place to write or just relax.
Christopher Igbojekwe
Nice park along the Hudson River with a well equipped play area for kids.
I cam here on a Sunday afternoon for a picnic and some reading. The atmosphere was splendid, great for families, I saw lots of small young families just having a great time.
Pro-tip, if you are coming for a picnic, try to arrive before 2pm as the nice spaces with tree shades get taken. But even if they are taken, don't sweat it there is a lot of green space and you can always for a ok spot or a park bench and wait for a better spot to be available.
Patrick Andersen
Nice park where you can have a break during your trip through New York. There is a playground for kids and many benches and areas to sit down for a while. It is just ten minutes from the One World Trade Center and also gives you the opportunity to take a ferry to other destinations. I really enjoyed staying there even at night for a short break.
G Aquino
You can’t go wrong with a park by the water. There’s the water to begin with, which is always pretty, especially with the passing ships and ferries. In the case of Rockefeller Park, there’s also two skylines - Lower Manhattan’s up close, and Jersey City’s from a distance. I visited in the winter and the place was blanketed in snow, making it all the more picture-worthy.
Jennifer
Right on the Hudson. My favorite park to bring the little ones to. Best playground equipment. Water fun and sand play as well. Plenty to do, great views. Restrooms clean across the street.
Philip Zetterberg
Nice view over New Jersey but not worth a visit on its own
KGQ NYC
Great park situated on the water in Battery Park City. Beautiful open grassy lawn with basketball courts, tennis backboard, vast children’s playground, duck pond, and my personal favorite: Penny Park with an impressive array of whimsical Tom Otterness sculptures. Picnic tables allow for ample space to grab a bite while enjoying the views in every direction.
Brett Bar
Nice park on the water
Masum Ahmed
I love it, you’ll have access to ferry nice park and lot of scenic spots for take photos
Jessica
Very nice views, has a good breeze and refreshing. The grass always seems a little wet so perhaps get a thicker blanket if you want a dry butt. Also their bathrooms are actually very clean!
Dimples S (부-인)
Lovely park. Lots to see and do, fun for all. Play in the playground or have a picnic. It's cool because it's right by the water.
sanju stones
Very nice park besides the Hudson river, far sightings of statute of liberity, downtown views and very pleasant to walk, sit and have fun with family and friends..
RKO1035
I live close on the river so I am here slot. Great for people watching and then there are the dogs and best of all the river with it's ferry and pleasure boats and seeing the grand lady, The Statue of Liberty. Good clean air and restaurants like Gigino with killer food and views. One on my favorites.
Nico Samneil Salado
Cleanliness is not so good but the view is fantastic! Overlooking the skyline of jersey city!
Joe Savage
We really enjoyed our morning jog up and down the Hudson River, taking in Rockefeller Park.
Adrian Tudor
' On Fifth Avenue, a white head with disembodied hands over its eyes loomed at 28 feet.
Even the entrances to several buildings were made new overnight, with sculptures tucked into lobbies.
These pieces, all for sale by galleries, are part of the inaugural edition of Frieze Sculpture at Rockefeller Center, a public art installation that opened to the public on April 25 and will be up until June 28.'
Dmytrii Berezhnyi
a good place to relax
Jeffrey Usher
This is a pretty park. Great location for the sunrise and sundown. Some cool whimsical sculptures. Dogs are not allowed on the lawn. But people break the rules anyway. Great place for a picnic. The park has two pool tables. So you can bring your own sticks and pool balls to play pool. They have a playground for children. Overall this is a great space for families and friends to come together..
Sergey Blashkov
This is great park from all points of view!
There are good views all around (Lower Manhattan and Jersey City), huge grass field to play, one of the best playgrounds I've ever seen, and all is close to WTC ferry terminal.
The playground is really awesome, it has few sandboxes, few water places, and a lot of usual playground activities.
In the summer rush hours it is a bit crowded but you can always find free space to play.
On the weekends there are also special tools and games shared by recreational staff and even some children books.
Great place for family rest.
Albert M (Al)
Just beautiful place with great views of nyc harbor and views of down town NYC with many different types of restaurants with a new shopping experience from many new shopping location available from high end like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Tory Burch and many others in the near area to pick your likes and take in the views of lower Manhattan and close by parks and ferries taking you wherever you need to go with only foot steps away. Battery park city even has an ice skating rink by Brookfield's place
CJ Evans
Beautiful park, great view of New Jersey, locals walking their dogs, completely different than lower east side
Nikhil Goyal
Lovely park in the summer to sunbathe , picnic , kids play, splash pad , koi ponds. Also don’t miss the pump house park nearby in Late June. Thousands of multi color hydrangeas and you sit among them.
Janet Daniel
The view is ab.so.lute.ly amazinggggg. A little slice of heaven to relax and unwind. Love that it's family friendly at day, romantic at night...would definitely recommend a stroll through or a picnic one day
sharona lee peterson
The only thing that could make this park better is if they had public restrooms. The playground is well gated and has water for the kids to splash inAnd drinking fountains. Also has sandbox and a little area for tots. There were lots of things on the lawn to play with as well. There is a building that will allow you to borrow books as long as you give them your ID. They also have air hockey and table tennis things like that that the little ones can play. It is right on the water so it’s nice and breezy lots of trees lots of grass. Great place to have a picnic and let the kids play.
Mark Baumann
Relaxing place on the waterfront at Hudson River. Nice place to hang out on the lawn in the shadow of the trees, reading a book and watching the runners and the boats on the water. The lawn is kept clean. Everyone looking for a time-out from busy Manhattan: this is a very good place to go.
MJG
Absolutely beautiful playground for the kidlets. Massive playground, some water features as well as a sandbox. Tons of bridges, slides, chains to climb, etc etc. All fenced in and very safe. Tons of benches for the adults to relax and watch as their kids play.
Behind you are beautiful views of the Jersey City skyline and the Hudson River. Not far from here is the Brookfield place if you are in dire need of a clean bathroom.
Definitely recommend. Tons of shade as well for those very hot days.
5/5.

This is the best park in Manhattan to walk along the river, ride a bicycle, sun tan in the grass, bring your kids or your dog for a fun afternoon. It is surrounded by piers and marinas. Plenty of restaurants, the Brookfield and Oculus malls, mini golf, beach volleyball, and a fantastic promenade along the Hudson river that will take you all the way down to the tip of Manhattan, Battery Park. Best sunsets in town!
Chef Chen
the park is very clean. relatively low city noise compared to the sounds of the river, trees, and birds. lovely view of new jersey. I like to sit on a banch here by myself sometimes.
Daniel de Deugd
Great park, green space is currently closed for the season. Playground, basketball and squash courts. Outdoor art and great view of the Hudson River and New Jersey. Also a somewhat distant view of the statue of liberty. Flowers have started to bloom 😁 …

Large park along the Hudson River in the northern section of Battery Park City adjacent to Tribeca and the Financial District. The park is particularly busy during the weekends of the summer months filled with both local residents as well as visitors from other areas of NYC and tourists from around the country and the world. The park is usually cordoned off during the winter months. Dogs are not allowed but the rule is only loosely enforced. Beautiful area to both visit as well as in which to live.
Silvia C.
Small park in front of the Hudson River with New Jersey view perfect for resting on the afternoon, walking or jogging with a nice view.

Rockefeller Park contains BPC Parks’ larger lawns, as well as a large playground, plantings and gardens and several public art pieces, and a pavilion. Restrooms are located at the northwest corner of the Solaire Building, across the street from the Parkhouse. The Parkhouse loans games and equipment every day from May through October, as well as providing assistance and information. Permanent ping pong and billiards tables are available, as well as basketball and handball courts and swings. The Lily Pool provides a restful, natural spot that is popular with migratory birds (please don’t feed the ducks or fish). Rockefeller Park also hosts the Children’s Garden where participating children can grow their own vegetables and flowers. Note to visitors: the lawns of Rockefeller Park are Dog-Free.
Nefertiti P. Arthur
Peace to all. I enjoyed a beautiful life jazz concert titled, "Breathe" conducted by the imminent Craig Harris composer arranger and trombonist. Craig is also, co-composer of the film "Judas and The Last Messiah."
Miguel Rodriguez
We came here to install the new cameras on the light posts, it’s really a nice park to come and enjoy the scene and vibe.
Mike Taggart
Nice area to hang out or jog.
Adam Cohen (DaDa Rocks)
Great spot to layout a blanket and picnic. Awesome playground for kids. Great basketball courts and swings.
Giancarlo Pereira
This is one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city! You are so close to mass transit and you have so much piece in the corner of the Hudson! Nothing beats battery park!
Ladyt Mack
The park is clean and grassy. This is a good park to bring children to enjoy outdoor fun and it's by the water.
NoteAndroid
A great open area full of fresh air for families to relax and mingle with local Manhattanites, especially on the weekends. During the week days you'll find the locals in their business attires during lunch hours. Tourists look towards New Jersey and take selfies with Statue of Liberty in the background. Gorgeous floral arrangements during the springs with many colorful flowers with plenty green grass as background; and amazingly quiet with all white view in the winter snow days. Photographers just pick your own season, pending on the view you'd like. Not recommending during October to December months, just brown dead, lifeless branches. Oh, and the wind is strong, is just way too cold~!
mICHAEL pIRROCCO
Beautiful fields of green bordering the mighty Hudson River.
Scott
This park is one of the reasons New York City is one of the most amazing cities on our planet. Basketball courts, soccer Court, tons of public Green space. There's a beautiful view of the Hudson River. Green grass. Picnic tables.and there's even a bizarre little monument with brick columns.
Victoria Secrett (VEE)
Amazing view.. Creative sculptures.. You can walk along the path & when you get tired stop sit on the bench & enjoy the beautiful NY skyline + the sound of the calming water. If you're really tired there's beautiful grass where you can just relax with family friends or by yourself when you want to gather your thoughts or jus relax & get away from the real world for a bit... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Absolutely stunning view & atmosphere ALL around 👌👍
Eric
Nice small park with good views of the Hudson.
Christian Rathbone
Love this park! Large open grass areas. Separate dog park. Small pond with trees. Beautiful boardwalk and a photogenic restaurant plaza at the one end. Recommend for sure.
Amo Featherstone
It's a breathtaking scenic view, to just relax after a hard day's work in the City. The scenery is a great stress reliever.
John Michael Schert
Views, grassy lawns, courts and a lily pond. Yes please
Donella Held
Great playground with lots of climbing structures, a large sand play area, a bicycle powered merry-go-round and little kid swings. There are bigger swings in a close by separate area. Lots of grassy area around the playground. There is a restroom, but it's across the street and down a bit, which isn't the most convenient for little kids. The playground is fairly shaded.
Albina Bimenova
Amazing view and super clean
Vincent Mok

I love this place. It's so peaceful. It's moderately quiet and always a place to sit. There is an amazing recreation area now where you can check out stuff to do like pool cues/balls, giant inflatable fun things, etc.
Watch out for worker vehicles though because sometimes it feels like they want to run you over.
Juan Carlos Recinos
This is a beautiful area to be. It has a nice view to the other side of the Hudson River. The place is relaxing. You will see many people enjoying their stay by seeing them layed down on the grass, reading, talking, etc. The grass is well maintained and the are is clean.
James Carr

Phyllis Harvey
The is an amazing green space situated near Battery Park on the lower Westside NY. It is picture perfect, offers a magnificent view of Jersey City. A great place for your little ones to run.

My favorite place.

Great park to take your family and friends. There is a lot to do here and it’s awesome. You can look at the Hudson River, Statue of Liberty, boat docks, the pounds, and the birds. You can also use the play ground, picnic area, and activity session with your family and friends. Also, a lot of people that come here go for a runs, a quick reading session at a bench, or even to eat and enjoy the views.
Great place, great park, will recommend!
Julian Jean
Ive been coming to this park for years. Nice place to unwind and relax after work or just chill with some friends. They have events too sometimes like movie watching and arts n crafts. There are public bathrooms not too far and the views are really nice, even in snowy weather. I recommend you come see for yourself!
Ayon Ibrahim

One of my absolute favorite sports to unwind. Even during the hottest days of summer, you will be able to find respite from a scorcher.
Christopher
I like this spot a lot ever since I was a kid. I come here often with this one girl who I adore and we have long conversations about nothing and everything in-between. It holds a special place in my heart as a local
Evgeniya V.

Great destination for a walk or to take in the summer sun. The park is well maintained and quite unique in terms of the layout, the sculpture and amenities. Seriously worth a visit.
Sharon Lin
This is a really beautiful park on any afternoon. It's near a neighborhood that's generally quiet and peaceful, and is right by the Hudson river. The architecture and design make it a great place to meet up with friends or even rest during a run. It's also generally very clean, and boasts great riverside views.
Olivere Arthur
Gorgeous waterfront views..looking over the river at New Jersey.
The park itself is nicely landscaped with some areas for sitting. There is also a small treasure trove of interesting metal statuary concentrated near the entrance at the end of Chambers Street
Michael K
Love this park right by the Hudson River. People picnic here, play basketball, run and bike along the water, and the kids playground area is pretty nice. There are also free board games and ping pong available to play, which is nice if you come with kids. It is a scenic park with river views and views of the Jersey City Downtown skyline. Nice atmosphere with lots of families, couples, etc. Worth a visit for sure.
J Lindsey
Great diverse atmosphere. Clean with many activities for all agrees. Wonderful spot on the water with a clear view of the Statue of Liberty. CLEAN BATHROOMS😁. We packed a lunch and made a day of it. Definately recommend. …
Jacqueline Ohayon
There is a wonderful breeze that shakes your hair as you walk bike, or just sit and enjoy this park. It is quiet in a chaotic city. The view of the city across the water, the birds here and there, and the greenery in the park make for a great stop. I visited each day on city bike while in New York, and loved it each time. I highly recommend stopping over to this park even if just to relax from the stress of the city.
Tania S
Such an awesome place to have breathe fresh air next to NY skyscrapers. Renovated playground features the best merry-go-round in the whole city!
Julie Chen
Great for families! The Tom Otterness sculptures are awesome. Playground is large with a lot of variety. Ball courts, too. The pond is a pleasant setting.
Pavel Vasilyev
good park, not the best in town, but relatively clean and pleasant
Camille Newell
Beautiful views, very tranquil & clean. Nice to take the kids for a little outdoor time and theres a small play park for them, u can also walk ur dogs here. Dint see too many bikes so I wouldnt suggest it, but theres enough space for runners or just to walk. Also a dock for water taxi which is cool, nice views of all diff boats, skyscrapers etc.,!
NYC Birthday Clowns
An amazing park with amazing views! The playground has lots of activities for the kids too! Water fountains and sand boxes are among the favorites! It's a great place to take your children and have a wonderful time with the family.
Jasmine Nazarieh
Had a great lunch with friends at the Rockefeller center cafe. The food was great and the atmosphere was great as well. We really enjoyed watching people ice skate in the rink outside while we enjoyed our meal and chatted away. One would think it might be a distraction, but it really added to the experience.
Inga Aliakskina
great place to have rest and breathe fresh air next to NY skyscrapers and busy life. Recently renovated playground features best merry-go-round in the whole city
Ros B
Great park, never very crowded. It is a little less tourist-y than the rest of battery park and has a great view of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. You can also see the Jersey City skyline, which while not nearly as nice of that of Manhattan, is still a good view.
inging fnu
My favorite place to relax. I always feel calm and relax here. Especially when i feel tired of the hectic-ness of the city. Its like a breath of clean air in lower east side. It has play ground, grassy field, basketball field. And they have some kids toys too. Very clean.
Cris Caza
My favorite place for take a walk
Daniel Villot
The neighborhood has a certain charm to it, old school yet modern. The Hudson River right next to it adds a serene energy to the area. World Trade Center and Battery Park close by is amazing, as well. Great place for a stroll/jog.
Christopher Houze
One of my favorite parts of the city! A very relaxing park where you can just listen to the sounds of the water against the shore. You also get a great view of New Jersey if you're into that
zenab
free wifi great place lots of flies tho
Jennifer Joy
Beautiful Walk along the harbor.
Jacobi Ward
Great family park. Something to do for everybody. Basketball courts, handball court, swings, playground with sandbox, huge lawn to just lay out and relax and in the summer... Ping pong tables, billiards, table hockey and other activities are all available for rent, free of charge.
Jahanzeb Arshad
Beautiful, live vibe on weekends.
Michael Rodriguez
Went to watch the Jersey City fireworks show; plenty of room and SO MUCH LESS CROWDED than the hordes encountered on the east side when we trekked over for food afterwards. Lots of green space w/trees and benches and a nice boardwalk along the hudson; there's also a great looking playground that I sadly did not play on but it looks like a great park to visit with more time and daylight!
Rafael Gonzalez
Very nice park with a view of the Hudson River. The park is open 24 hours and it is very safe and chill to go at night
Marc Smithsonian
Nice jersey city view
mowshe K
all ages fabulous, nice sunset spot as well.
Yehuda Joffre
Nice, clean park. Beautiful river views
dee dil
Great experience for all family
Peter Schimpl
We walked over from the World Trade Center (10 minute walk). It is a great park. Even if it is close to one of the main attractions of NYC it feels not as touristic. Yo have a great view of the Statue of Liberty and Jersey City.
Miranda Hayes
Cool park! The fish pond is my favorite. Not the best for parking.
Jr Mulero
The peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking views
Zayadur Khan
A beautiful park with a beautiful view, surrounded by everything one would attribute to New York City: tall buildings, boardwalks, piers, a view of the river and New Jersey on the horizon, and people. Off to the North is a pier with areas for activities including beach volleyball, mini-golf, and finger painting for kids. Off to the south, there is a boardwalk with areas for recreational activities, including billiards and table hockey, and a park for children.
The only complaint I have about the park is that it gets crowded rather quickly, much like any other hot spot in New York City. If you're planning to go on a picnic here, come early and claim your spot under the very few trees in order to take advantage of the shade. The sun is rather strong when it's out.
Brian McDonald
I have been going to this park since it was first built back in the early 90's, so it has a special place in my heart. As a kid it was a great place, as there were all kinds of options for fun, be it playground, sport, or exploration. As an adult, you also have lots of options for fun, although part of me wishes there was an "adult swim" period where you could make a fool of yourself by going on the swings and playing on the jungle gym.
The park keeps a small town vibe, where you can go to a clubhouse and rent out ping pong tables and other entertaining equipment. Aside from all of this, you still have the great fields where you can picnic, relax, or just walk through barefoot to connect with some man-made earth.
Lamarr Hawkins
Beautiful park I sometimes walk through on my way to work. great view of Jersey City over the water, billiards tables are set up. sun bathers, nice view of the trade center going up. It's just a great place
Henry Corwin
I mean, it's beautiful here. But I couldn't give it five stars because they asked me to take down my volleyball net. At 7:45 in the morning. I don't think we were bothering anyone. And the lawn where there were supposed to be no dogs had a few dogs. There were signs about dogs, but no signs about ball-playing. It felt a little random to be asked to not play.
Fernando Gómez-Baquero
Nice place for a picnic or just to chill.
Joseph Nicholas
Such a great spot to throw down a blanket and enjoy the views, lots of room for kids to run, and close to several amazing playgrounds
Jeffrey L. Wong
Small but with beautiful view of New Jersey, and grass is well-groomed. Very clean park, which is rare in NYC.
brian yang
Lovely park, in a safe area of the city. Wonderful playground. Usually quite crowded, and especially on the weekends. Thinking to chill out on the lawn with spot or fido? Forget about it. Dogs are not allowed on the greens. The park is "dog-free".
Pavel Penev
Great views of the river, passing and anchored ships, and nearby high buildings.
The smell may not always be so great, and there may occasionally be smokers of tobacco, marijuana, or other substances that don't respect your right of breathing fresh air.
cristian “manulito” vasguez
The park is cool, and family friendly. I love the view to the Hudson River and the sky lines of both NJ and NYC.
Mark B Borg Jr
Awesome park....saw one of the all-time best (FREE!) Concerts here ever--Laurie Anderson--with a pal in from Hawaii who turned me onto her in, what? Maybe 1987! Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeesh!!! Having that kind of experience here--I have to say--really makes this park one of the best (to me) in New York City!!!
Stephen Elliot
Beautiful park on the water. Great views of both Manhattan and Jersey. Green space to run around, benches to people watch, and some courts etc. for games of all sorts. Pretty sure there's a restroom here too, but I could be mistaken.
Rex Christian
Great park
Mei Tam
This is a beautiful place by the water. Its so calming and peaceful. They have a beautiful walking path, play area for the kids, duck pond, field for ball playing at the far end, ny water way at the other end..... love it!
Tyler Biggs
Just an infrequent visitor to see familu. But this is an amazing park, I would certainly tell a local or a visitor to go. Plenty of 'size' stuff for almost any age kid. So far I've only run into understanding and amicable parents when it came to sharing toys and the like.
Mohammed Khan
Awesome park for kids!
Yosh Naka
Great place to watch the sunset while tripping on acid.
Jason Mather
Great open space for frisbee, sunbathing, flying a kite, picnic, etc. Gets a bit crowded on weekends and can be overrun with small kids (BPC is stroller city...) and the ground isn't terribly level (try to find a level patch to play games on), but otherwise one of my favorite places!
Flo S
Nice spot to relax!
Juan Lucero
Great view nice and clean. Great place to relax
R Carter
Always amazing
Julio72 Perez1234
Nice place to walk,exercise,and relax
Sandy Leung
This is a fantastic place to run through, especially during sunset time. I came here for the first time yesterday and was completed amazed by the colors and setting silhouette against New Jersey. It's really quite amazing, especially if you enjoy these NYC sunsets. Something about the sun reflecting off these monstrous huge mushroom clouds is something unreal. We stopped to sit on the bench and take in all the views. To the south you can see the Statue of Liberty at the distance, to the west is New Jersey and to the North you can see all the sailboats heading back to their ports. In general it's a perfect place to hang out on the benches/grass, a quick run through the area or a nice romantic walk.
Thomas J. Lee
Absolutely love the park especially if you have kids! The park is situated in the middle of rich New Yorkers and the families you meet are pretty well educated and well to do families. Would highly recommend it to anyone with kids.
John H
Great views over the Hudson. Check out Tom Otterness's whimsical, fascinating sculpture, The Real World. Its actually a group of several sculptures, all related to each other. They are even on the tops of the nearby light posts. it's at the north entrance of the park at the end of Chambers St & River Terrance.
Leonel Barragán
Riverfront park- a cool place to walk, jog, picnic and sightsee the NYC cityscape. Open year round although in winter it's freezing cold and in Summer there is not enough shaded places and trees to take cover under.
Matthew Dornquast
This park is subsidized by the development / rental income of battery park - as such it is always in perfect shape and super clean.
Perfect for families - many parks, playgrounds, open space, and more.
Mike Beltzner
Fantastic park and amazing playground with free crafts and activities for kids on Thursday afternoons in the summer. Easy walk for kids to the Chambers St. subway station, and a nearby Shake Shack seals the deal!
Autria Covington
It's beautiful! It has a big playground for the kids. Really close to a movie theatre and you have access to the ferry boats ⛵. Loved it!

Rockefeller State Park Preserve offers quiet countryside walks of all lengths through forested hills and valleys surrounding sunlit pastoral fields. Thirty miles north of New York City, the property is the former Pocantico Hills and Rockwood Hall country estates of John D. Rockefeller family and William Rockefeller. Since 1983, the Rockefeller Family has generously donated over 1771 acres to the State of New York to safeguard these lands for present and future generations. Managed by New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, the Preserve is open to the public year-round, sunrise to sunset.
The trails of the Preserve are crushed stone carriage roads laid out by John D. Rockefeller Sr. and Jr. in the first half of the 20th century. Designed to complement the landscape, the 45 miles of scenic carriage roads are wide and easy to walk. Popular for walking, riding, jogging, and carriage driving, combinations of trails lead through varied landscapes and past natural and historical features, such as Swan Lake, the Pocantico River with its wood and stone bridges, gurgling streams, colonial stone walls and rock outcroppings. Trail maps of the carriage roads are available at the Preserve Office.
The Preserve is primarily hardwood forest dominated by huge oak, tulip poplar, maple, and beech trees. The forests, fields, streams, and wetlands support a high diversity of native species of resident and migratory birds, mammals, insects, amphibians, reptiles, fish and aquatic species, some of which are in decline and now uncommon in Westchester County. With 202 recorded species of birds and its Important Bird Area designation by the National Audubon Society, the Preserve is a must-visit area for birders. Over 100 species of native wild bees frequent spring and summer wildflowers. In the fall, Monarch butterflies stop to feed and lay eggs during their southward migration. An on-going environmental stewardship is underway to favor native biological diversity.
Rockwood Hall is a distinct bucolic section of the Preserve with commanding views of the Hudson River and Palisade Cliffs. Between 1886 and 1922, William Rockefeller's estate was 1000 acres with a 202-room mansion, a working farm, and a landscape designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, father of American landscape design. While the house and buildings are now gone, massive rock walls around the former house site and extensive grassy fields with magnificent specimen trees harken back to the heyday of the estate during the gilded age.
While in the preserve, stop in the Preserve's Gallery by the entrance where rotating exhibits feature contemporary art and natural history exhibits. In the entrance courtyard between the Gallery and Preserve office is the Tree Peony Garden.
Please Note: Bicycles, mechanized vehicles, drones, metal detectors, snowmobiling, camping, and open fires are strictly prohibited. Dogs must be leashed.

Decent quality park for quarantine.

Great place to spend a few hours wandering around the city. 3 or 4 floors of food and shops and and amazing view. Food that was in the Spanish market area looked and smelled delicious.

Unorthodox architectural design, layout, atmosphere, much to explore and soothing to the senses. A must see and a must experience.
Joan K. Castro

Carl
We walk around here often playing Pokemon Go. It's a beautiful park with spacious grass to lounge around or play in. Always clean and we'll kept. Wish we could live in the complex right across.
Anthony Alcaro
I really love Rockefeller Park. It's in a nice neighborhood, located along the water, and has plenty of open fields for playing/lounging/picnicking. I've been a few times now and usually you'll see groups of children playing games with their school or after-school programs, but not to worry, there is plenty of park to go around!
Sometimes I like to walk along the water and watch the boats while getting some exercise in. Nothing like that ocean breeze to invigorate you!
MowZus Baugh
Beautiful and scenic!! Great place for the family to go and enjoy themselves.
FamilyMan 420

Tres Davis
Peaceful little park with a pleasant path by the water. Within the park, there is a fun pocket park that has a surreal art installation called The Real World; it has a number of small to medium bronze statues.
Rachel Bartlett
This park has everything, cute-scary statues, helicopter noise, the Statue of Liberty from a distance, and children trying to grow a garden. Conveniently located at the South end of a small but expensive island, this park should be on the Top 10 list for any serious tourist ... (insert more Stefon if you feel like it).
Anyway, come anytime, it is always gorgeous. Bring a camera, you will find you need it. Those awesome Tom Otterness statues make suitable motives for making 3D pictures.
David Robles
one of my favorite parks in NYC!
Gary Wrege

Rockefeller Park captures everything summer in NYC is all about. Great alternative for locals and tourists alike that would rather avoid the commute to Central Park. I'll also mention - this area offers views you might expect from a VR simulation if you're looking for a new place to run.
