Not only does it have two parks for the kids to play, with swings and slides, and a doggie park, and BBQ area, but there's this beautiful view in the back area. Great for fishing or a hike or a picnic with a view. Wait for dry weather or you'll mess up your footwear with mud.

Great park to go for a nature walk, it has so much to offer for everyone. They have two playgrounds, one for smaller kids and another for ages 4 and up. Lots of picnic and bbq areas. There is also a small water area past the dog park in the back which is pretty easy to miss if you’re not familiar with the park. I must say that they need to at least update the playground equipment. Pelham Bay Park has so much potential to be amazing but I don’t understand why the people in charge don’t put much into it.

NYC's biggest park, so lots of ground to cover. During this review mostly the shoreline was shirted, and some hiking trails explored. In fair weather it makes for a nice experience, and locals have a standing agreement not to shank you, which is generous.

My favorite place to disconnect from city life. Feels like another world if you find the right hiking path. Water views, gorgeous trails, beautifully kept areas for family, tennis courts, track and bocce ball courts too (I don't even know what bocce is but I'll find out).

First off I went to orchard to Orchard beach in a cold November and the view was absolutely amazing. I don’t know about the beach during the summer time but if you would like to have some alone time with your partner this would be the place.

It's a huge park. I love the quiet. There is a dog park, and a small beach area which was cleaned up. There is a large playground, and a smaller one for younger kids. There are also restrooms. There are several baseball fields, tennis courts, and a beautiful track.

I love riding horses but don't like to drive far so this place is perfect. The horses are healthy looking & stalls are well maintained. The trails are lovely & leaders have been very good & watchful. I've found the changing staff quite strange and unwelcoming. Prices are fair.

Pelham bay park is the best kept secret in the Bronx. It has an abundance of wild life, bike paths and walking trails. Surrounded by rich history of Orchard beach. Nice place to visit to bond with nature and not have to drive to far out of NYC to find it. Surrounded by the LongIsland Sound and Hutchinson River waterway, a piece of tranquility in NYC.

2023-01-28 was here for a ranger led seal watch. I love the Park Rangers. Used one of at least two incredibly spacious bathrooms. I was able to walk my bike in. A good thing because there is no bike parking. Needs a citibike dock. My reviews tend to be bike oriented. I don't own a car but will rent one on vacations. If this perspective interests you, then you may want to follow my reviews. Google Maps does not have a keyword for bike or biking. Why is that? 4 yrs ago. Was only in a small part but still impressed

Such a lovely park, even in winter. We went to see what birds lived there and came across some lovely smaller birds. We just missed a red tailed hawk but caught it flying away. There are lots of water fowl and blue jays, cardinals and Titmice to be seen.

You can have some great walks here. The dog park is cool. There are also little hidden areas, so be sure to check your maps to find them.

Pelham Bay Park is a beautiful place to go with your Family and friends you can take your lunch or grill your hamburgers, this view is amazing, the sunset 🌅 is beautiful, plenty parking and restrooms available. Really enjoy this beautiful day at this beautiful place. Take your chairs if you are going to be close to the water or the park provides plenty chairs and table for the community.

The biggest Park in New York City, and amazing place to spend time with amazing people all races. It clearly shows that it’s the Bronx and not Manhattan because if it was Manhattan the grass and landscaping would be done more often. This is definitely a park where the people make up place!

Huge park, was a lot of fun to bike ride. Expect a tonne of cars with radios blasting in the parking lot. The sandy beaches are very nice, and some great hiking trails. My wife and I took mountain bikes on the trails as well and enjoyed the off roading. I believe the park officially opens next weekend and will charge a fee.

Pelham Bay Park was really nice. We got lost and found some really nice spots but my brother is not sure he can find it again. I don't think he wants to find it because we walked a lot more than he planned. I enjoyed the walk and look forward to going back again.

Nice long walks to be had here close to the waterfront. The shore has 3 abandoned boats which have been stripped of parts but I was able to board one, slippery when wet.

u will find numbers of dogs here roaming. this is the largest park of the city. some old forest also avilable here. the natural scenery of this park is very beautiful. the walkways are also very favourable for all. u will.see here a good numbers of unknown.birds are raoming.the combination of.red and.green color.also will make.u.feel good

This time of year is great there. Wonderful site for walking, basketball,paddle ball, tennis, bike riding, kite flying and watching nature. Hike along the rocks and see what the fisherman have caught. Sit on the benches and watch the dogs walking their humans or bring a blanket and enjoy the sun! Yup, no swimming now, but the crowds are down. The concessions are closed but bring your picnic baskets! Best of all, the parking is free!

Nice massive park with lots of shade around the trails. Great for biking and running. I'd stay out of the beach though. It's way too crowded and I'm not a big fan of the loud music. Also, people disregard social distancing there.

Very nice place to take a walk on the beach and get steps in. Too, if you have kids great place for the water on the water isn’t deep when the tide is low. Great place to have a picnic as well.

Really good place considering it's in the Bronx, no shade, I live in the Bronx too, however due to poor funding and such a lot of the public attractions are in poor condition, and need a lot of maintenance. As seen in the picture, there's tons of litter, and graffiti all around the riverside. But besides that, the actual park is spacious and has a nice tennis court next to the country club. In fact, I'd say that the side closest to the country club is by far the best kept, with lots of neat amenities such as a mini calisthenic gym rig, a decent sized football field, and tons of open grassy areas. The location gets a good amount of wind from the river, and the shade from trees will keep you cool. Also, something I personally found appealing was that there are parts of the forest that are open to the public, and you can hike and walk through these areas, and it will make you feel like you are truly in an isolated forest with limited human interaction, which is quite calming.

I love my neighborhood Pelham Bay Park. It's usually clean, as was today, & everyone else looks to always be enjoying it too. Def a go-to place for bicycle riding, rollerblading, running & there's even a dog park furthest to the rear of the park. I visit usually 3-4x a week.

A good place to have picnic and outdoor games. Secluded areas that gives a sense of privacy for groups. Only drawback is the lack of convenient means of transport for older ones who might have mobility issues to get to far areas in the park. Taking a wheelchair or other mobility transport will help as there are paths to travel on.

It looks lovely very nice place for everyone. Had to go to orchard beach. If you've never been there like me it's a perfect get away from the city heat. Well worth the drive. And I saw a no fee bus stop within walking distance from both the beach, and park. Gotta go see it for yourself. Bring the whole family and plenty of friends. I guarantee you will love it.

No matter what time of year, season, or day, Pelham Bay Park has always been the natural oasis of The Bronx. Where does one begin? Well, there's this lovely fact. In terms of square miles, Pelham Bay Park is actually the largest of the 5 major parks of the City of New York! That's right. Not Brooklyn's Prospect Park, Staten Island's Greenway, Queens' Flushing Meadows Park, not even Central Park! From the many species of plants and birds that inhabit the area, to the historic monuments scattered throughout the parkland. Access to the park takes many forms. The IRT #6 Subway Line terminates a block south of its main entrance. The Bruckner Expressway passes right next to it. Several bus routes have stops nearby. If city bureaucrats ever get it together, commuter rail service may one day grant instant access to the Park via the proposed East Bronx Railway from Midtown Manhattan to neighboring Co-Op City! Be it Orchard Beach during the summer, hiking trails during the fall, or winter snow falling along the football field around Rice Stadium, Pelham Bay Park is definitely worth a visit. Be a tourist in your own city. ENJOY!

Only go for the dog run these days. The park can get way overcrowded and the rowdy elements here are NOT family friendly. The bathroom wait in the summer especially weekends is outrageous. Most men will use the surrounding foliage to relieve themselves causing the area to smell. People have forgotten how to act in public. Police use to patrol more and need to enforce the laws again.

I hiked the trails on Orchard Beach. Kamikoff is the name I believe. It was a great hike even though it was freezing. We were not alone there were other people in the woods as well. There are awesome views along this trail and many spots 2 get close to the water.

Great place to relax with nature and enjoy outdoor activities. The park is well kept and has rest room facilities. We visited the section near the Pelham Bay train station which featured a playground, running track and picnic areas. If you like viewing passenger jets, you will see them circling over head every few minutes on their way to JFK airport.

On this first day of Autumn, there are few places as peaceful, warm, soul-enriching and blessed as the post-season city beach. I see families, lovers, the loners and the lonely. This being NYC, there are a few unusual people. But they too are at peace. The bathrooms are clean, the snack bar is open! The next warm fall day you can afford to get away, try a city beach. You'll be thankful you did.

THE BEST park in NYC! To begin with the park is three times the size of central park. This park gives you the feel of a proper forested park. It contains numerous hiking trails and bike paths through and around the park. It has a stable where you can learn horse riding. It has a beach to cool your feet in the summer. Also city island has the best seafood fastfoood in nyc. This park has it all, but it is so underated which makes no sense. I strongly recomend that you pay a visit and you will not be dissapointed.

Contrary to popular belief, Pelham Bay Park is the Largest Park in NYC , enough said , it host an array of wild life and nature to help you get lost for a while , if you choose to do so. It even has the grand Riviera of the Bronx as well, Orchard Beach, which is where I was,when these photos were taken. Be sure to take a day when you can and get back to nature.

Needs alot of upgrading, and upkeep. Some picnic tables were flooded under large bodies of water, caused by rain the day before. It's a great recreational outdoor park, but there isn't a valid playground for children younger than 5. This park might be the biggest in nyc, going all the way to orchard Beach, but orchard isn't readily accessible, especially not by foot, vehicle or public transportation is the safest way to arrive at the beach. There is a small hiking trail, and access to fishing. There are basketball courts, tennis, baseball, football, soccer and track (most crowded part of the park). This park definitely needs parking, though there is plenty near the beach. The park is easily accessible by public transport. This park needs the same amount of love central park is shown, especially as the biggest park of new york city, it's a lost opportunity. If hiking, biking, fishing and outdoor sports in an extremely quiet and mostly empty park is what you're looking for this is a perfect park to visit.

Went here for a prom. They decorated very nicely and the food was really good. Just wish the parking wasn't so far and down a hill. It was difficult to walk in heels. And it was raining very hard so that was rough to do in the rain also.

Beautiful and expansive park. There is a gigantic parking lot which is free outside of summer. It has beach access which is very nice and sandy and a huge play land for kids. Several other amenities like basketball courts exist.

Great park . It's 3 times the size of Central Park. Great to hold BBQ, Great for taking long strolls . Restroom open until 8 on Saturday. Only draw back only one stall in both men and women Restroom and might have to stand online to use it.

I met my wife and her family there for a cookout....From what I saw for the lil 3 hrs I was there it was clean, grass was cut, etc.....That park is HUGE!! I would definitely like to go there again and explore the park more....Maybe ride a bike with my daughter or have a more intimate cookout with my wife and daughter

Pelham Bay Park is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful parks in all of New York City. In fact, it’s the LARGEST park in all the 5 boroughs, and home to smaller islands, beaches, and hiking trails. I think there are a lot of great things about the park, but also some areas in which I think improvements can be made. - I don’t live terribly far, so sometimes I like to head over there in the later afternoon for a jog or walk. It’s always packed with families, couples, folks walking their dogs- you name it. The greenery is beautiful, with a variety of plants and flowers that are well maintained. The wildlife is also plentiful, especially if you’re a birder. I’ve seen many a species of birds, but can’t name them all, though I was tickled to see an osprey. As for other animals, you might get lucky and spot a deer, or 2. I saw one on a jog and was tickled pink! If you’re into water bound creatures, there’s a little beach area by the draw bridge with fiddler crabs that like to crawl and dance about. - Where is CitiBike?- It’s amazing to me that there are no Citibikes here because it’s a huge park with enough land for biking. I see people do it all the time, and it’s a lovely place to explore. I don’t think the little zippy scooters really do the park any justice. - Beyond Salsa Fest- I’ll admit, I LOVE salsa. I’m not of Latin decent, but it doesn’t take that to love the melodic pianos and percussive horns. I’ve attended salsa fest on orchard beach and thoroughly enjoyed myself. That said, what can we do to build on that same energy and have more cultural hubs (events, institutions) in the park? I don’t mean any specific ethnic representation, although it would be nice to have more cultural fests. I’m talking broader events that build culture in and around the park. Community building like hosting fairs, art festivals, theater productions (I.e Shakespeare in the park), concert series. Unless the surrounding neighborhoods don’t want the noise (which, they’re already getting enough noise from the bbq’s), I don’t see why these things aren’t happening here. There’s movie night, and salsa fest and that’s about it. Anyway, overall I enjoy Pelham Bay Park. It’s worth the visit, whether by yourself (but be safe) or with family and friends.

I love this Bronx Favorite park. Nice track for jogging and great workout spot as well. Parallel bars, exercise bars, and a variety of physical fitness bars for pull up and chin up. Baseball field and small basketball ball court. Nice playground for the kiddies. I have been coming here since I was a kid. I live out of state but still find time to comeback and spend a nice day at the park.

Living on the 6 train, I’ve always been curious what’s at Pelham Bay Park. Supposedly, this is the largest park in NYC. It was extremely lively on a summer Saturday with several festivals and local sports leagues and some cool giant horses! Wander around and see the bay, with City Island in the distance, doesn’t feel like NY.

This park offers many things to do. Ample fields, kids playground, track field, barbecue picnic area. Easily accessible via car right off I95, by train last stop #6 uptown, etc. Park is clean, and relatively well maintained. I prefer to go during weekdays rather than weekends. Weekends tend to be crowded. It's a park so no surprise there. Only drawback is that many of the people that frequent on the weekends tend to be loud, rowdy, project people. I said it and it is reality. You know the type. Hence me preferring to go weekdays

This park is a great escape from the big city. It's quite and feels secluded. Very spacious for private picnics. The greens areas are clean but the seating areas could use some TLC... not too bad though. There's a big outdoor gym, a dog park, playing fields, a small forest all around and past that is the water. I believe is the only beach in the Bronx. All in all I recommend it and I will be going back.

I come here to workout and it is such a breathe of fresh air. No one bothers anyone, everyone just come to do their own thing and that is the beauty of it. I will explore the trail next time. Parking is not a issue and that is a huge plus

Really quiet and big. It’s 3x the size of Central Park and although it’s a bit uptown—- it’s right next to the last stop on the 6 train. Nearby are many different places to eat and so you could have a nice picnic if you wanted to. There’s a tennis court, basketball court, track field with sand, two separate playgrounds, and lots of space! There’s also bleachers near the track field along with a baseball field too!

We go to this park every year to start the summer off and they seem to have made some really nice improvements. All park benches were repainted and the stationary grills had seem to have been cleaned up a bit too. The only problem I have with this park is the parking situation. There is only one parking lot so if you decide the secure a spot on the North side of the park, you'll have a really long walk from the parking lot. If you don't use the parking lot you could be driving around for at least 30.mins before getting a parkspot close enough on the street. For those taking public transportation, the 6 train is right across the street from the park (last stop in the Bronx).

Best park to play football in. The field is a full field and even with 2 or 3 teams practicing you can still play since its big. I go here every Saturday no problems whatsoever. And after I go to this water side area to relax which is pretty cool.

I gave this place 3 stars because this place gets quickly over crowded even with the current social distancing norm.... For me mondays are pleasant especially if you have kids. Weekends this place gets crowded and loud. I prefer morning to early afternoon. And there is a reasonable fee for parking for those who want to be closer to Orchard Beach. There is so much to do in this park. There's even horseback riding, call for reservations. All in all not too bad. Love the family friendly vibe. It is what it is-> don't lose yourself trying to make sense of the facilities just bring your own arsenal of sanitizing products for that trip to the facilities. Once you decide, left or right, there are more than enough points of Exits/Entrances to the beach. This park has so much to offer and there is so much to explore. Public transportation accessible. Have fun and be safe. Enjoy.

Pretty cool park, it’s nice and clean. What I didn’t like however was when I went to walk a couple of the trials around the area. I saw a few guys popping out of the shrubs and and they seemed a bit intimating. The trials also aren’t kept clean and the beach area was a total mess I still like the main area though. Great Park to walk your dogs on the weekend. It's looking for a place to have a free party also an amazing location. On site Parks department location is great for help if needed. Parks enforcement regularly patrols the area to help enforce park rules and deter miscreants. However during the summer on a Friday or Saturday night there tends to be high quantity of litter.

One of my favorites parks to be with family. To make a barbecue most likely you can find a Grill to cook, or bring your own. During holidays if you want to get a nice spot for a grill, get there early. I also want to say, that there is a new dog park that it's big enough for dogs, but lacks special touches of recreation spots for dogs to exercise. I am very concern about the open fields of beautiful cut grass that people don't know, that there are ticks all over these open fields, n our pets can get infested so do people. These ticks can cause deseases like lime desease n other infections. Please be careful do not go into these open fields at pelham bay park, there should be posted warnings about ticks, so people don't go inside to play with their kids n their pets.

This is an amazing park. It is a great place to ride your bicycles and to explore. There are many paths to ride and it also have play areas for kids near the beach. It also has a outdoor basketball court and they do games there also. The beach is free to go to and it is very big and is safe for kids because the water is sometimes very shallow but if you want to get to deeper water you have to go out further. In the water you can find many creatures hermit crabs witch are harmless.The beach is also a nice spot to lay down and enjoy the sun and is a great place to build sand castles. If you go further down to the west side of the beach were the rocky area is it is a very great spot for a view of the ocean and it is a great spot to find little snails and clams and mussels. And don't worry they have good parking, a bus stop and a place to buy food at the beach.

I've been to Orchard Beach several times. Personally, being from Florida, it lacks luster. BUT I've only been on the far side by the buses. I never walked the boardwalk. Never saw anything like the playground, tennis and basketball courts.....nothing. Today, a special friend took me on the trails that take you from the beach, over to where it connects with Pelham Bay park. It was a nice, easy little hike. The views were AMAZING! People were having tailgate parties in the parking lot. Tables everywhere for bbq, or get togethers. You had a whole mix of folks at a carne asada, talking and mingling. As for the trails, it's like being in a whole other place. Even the breeze hit different.The marsh was gorgeous. Natural vegetation. Sun shining off the ripples in the water. I want to go back and kayak thru there. In one spot, there are huge smooth rocks, perfect for a private sun bath. My friend and i want to go back with picnic food and a good towel or blanket to just chill for the day. I really gained a whole new perspective on this area. I found a new safe place to ignore the hustle of the city. Doesn't get better than that!

During this time of pandemic uncertainty it's a comfort to know that one can still come over and enjoy a dose of fresh air and sunlight. You can still bring the family over for a picnic and enjoy a walk through the park and take in the scenery. If using the restrooms you still have to wear your mask and maintain the six foot rule of social distancing. I'd bring my own drinking water if I were you. I still wouldn't trust the water fountains as you never know who has used them before you they are open and operational. A good place for biking, hiking, skating, jogging or just mellowing out. Come by and enjoy a day away from your stresses.

New York City Parks department employees here are doing excellent job and keeping the park clean and safe last January a vehicle crash into the overpass leading to the park two of the park rangers responded immediately and did all they could to help the driver I observed that the individual inside the vehicle was not breathing and I told him that he was not he quickly responded by breaking the window and opening the door and checked his pulse I was prepared to do CPR I am certified and have experience working in the New York City hospital emergency room at the same moment EMS showed up and we backed off and let them do what they do best save lives but I commend these two parked apartment rangers who responded they show courage and the willingness to help a fellow human being I hope that this testimony will bring some light into what kind of people New York City Park department park has working here at Pelham Bay Park I strongly believe that these two individuals should be commended for the efforts that day thank you very much for letting me share yours truly Raul Morales God bless you all and your family amen

Our family moved to Pelham Bay Area in December and we have enjoyed everything Pelham Bay Park has to offer including free outdoor gym, track and field, ice cream trucks, Dunkin Donuts, 7Eleven, train station , bus depot, clean rest rooms, kids park, swings, dog parks, park benches, grills picnic picnic tables and nature trails. This public place is absolutely beautiful and every member of the family is sure to enjoy!

One of the best hiking parks in NYC. I've lived near this park for over 30 years, and I still haven't seen all of the trails the park has to offer. Today I decided to walk on the trails behind the running track. I've been in this section, but never took the trails. I was surprised to find a fishing spot with views of City Island, and the Country Club boat docks. The ticks run rampant on the trails. So wear long sleeves, and tuck pants into your socks if possible. Or use bug spray with Deet. Just be safe.

There have been many improvements there rinse showers on the broad walk and extra bathrooms.Basketball courts don't have rims because Covid 19 pandemic. The atmosphere is relaxing . Bring your own food and water no food stands open. The beach was rated has having the cleanest water in the area. Check for yourself.Orchard Beach section 3 is really nice broad walk or beach close to restroom and broad walk rinse showers.There's a kid playground there and empty hand ball courts.😎

Very nice place to go for a walk and great park for family picnics (No barbecuing allowed). There's a running track and a football pitch for those who are interested. Huge space for parking. I think they close the entrance of parking around 10:00 pm. Usually, I park my vehicle on the nearby streets. If you do get locked out, there's a security station that you can go to and they will help you to get out of the parking lot.

Huge green space offering lots of outdoor activity opportunities, especially during the summer months. We were here on a summer weekend and the park was packed with picnickers, and the atmosphere was very festive. If you plan to arrive by subway, you can take the 6 train to the end of the line, and then walk to the park via an overpass walkway. There seems to be no direct foot access to the bay so if you're planning to be here for that, you might be in for some disappointment.

Get there early in the morning if you like to walk. You can walk the track or the park paths. Later in the day parking can be hard to find but you can park on the street. Nice dog park. Wish people would clean up after themselves. The parks department tries but it's a uphill battle.

Track is nice. Adult playground was not planned out very well. One pull up bar is too high. One pull up bar is too low. All the exercise machines are broken. The fields can be kept better with tighter grass trimming. The main kids playground is alright. Overall, the park is decent for the Bronx.

Lovely atmosphere and great amenities around. We used the grill and a couple tables for a birthday party and it turned out perfect! Location is right next to the beach a playground and bathrooms. There is a lot to do around the vicinity, for kids and adults! Highly recommend this location for anyone looking to celebrate or have a good time! Will definitely be coming back for the next event! Be sure to properly dispose of the items you use and leave the park in better shape then you found it!

Beautiful park. But i was there today. There was garbage everywhere you looked. Many people was not wearing any mask. Some had them on only covering there chin. Its not a chin strap. Its suppose to cover your nose and mouth. Some groups complain why they are prone in getting covid19. Where the mask correctly and it reduces your chances. Only stayed 20 minutes and left the park.

Spectacular. What a beautiful day to walk in the woods. You would never know you were in the Bronx. Walking with my wife we observed many different types of birds. We were also lucky enough to see a six pointed dear relaxing in the brush. Squirrels and chipmunks everywhere.

One of my favorite parks. You could have a picnic. Ride a bike or skate. Play basketball. And they also got a very nice track & field. The hiking is easy for beginners, kids and like me the grandparents. I love the doggie park. It's been renovated. There are two playgrounds. A small one by the #6 train station. And a bigger one next to the basket ball courts. My three year old granddaughter loves walking the little board walk around the rain garden You got two comfort stations and a parks rangers station. Go and have fun.

Plenty of colorful leaves on trees, hiking trails, an olympic track with free parking lot available to limited spots and you're literally yards away from Orchard beach and City island. Spacious, long walking trails to the hudson river, large fields..theres wedding photgraphy often at this location. Theres baseball and soccer fields. Only thing is parking was hard to find but they do have a parking lot. Right across the street from the last stop on the 6 train and across from the buss hub/depot. Homeless people in the summer fill up the park at night but...I love pelham its the place to be

Pretty cool dog park. Not too many know about it. Track and field... field? I think it's an Olympic sized track. Baseball field, picnic areas, basketball courts, I think there are tennis courts, horses (they're still here :), Great bike path/nature walk/running trail. Go there. Enjoy it. Pretty cool place. :)

Went here for Memorial Day, had a great BBQ. This park is spacious, there's a large playground, and the beach is right there too. The parking lot is HUGE, so don't worry about finding a spot to park.

It's a pretty unique area there's barbecue grills for outdoor grilling if you want to do your own Barbeques. There's also a basketball court and a Olympic size running track. It's very spacious and it near the beach as well. It's a nice relaxing area for yourself or the family.

This is a great park if your looking for a forest and high earful sky with lots of beautiful big landscape. However, if your trying to get to the other side of the park (pelham bay bridge) be extra careful because the sidewalk is to small to fit and is dangerous. Cars that goes in the bridge, goes in high speed. So be sure of that, take the bus from the last stop of the 6 train, have a safe trip....goodbye

American Golf Corp. Manages these courses. Staff was cool, but the grounds were minimally maintained. Bunkers were filled with crabgrass and hard pan. If you go into a bunker, pick up your ball and place it on grass. There are better courses to play for the money.

Decent green areas always crowded and seems as if the park was carefully planned out. The Bronx has many parks and sitting areas and this is just along the same lines as the rest of the family parks. Location wise this park can be easily missed if you are not familiar with the area. A lot of local people populate the park making it more of a neighborhood park rather than a city park. The greenery is beautiful as are the statues and sitting areas.

This park is always full of life whether it be from the people doing cookouts, exercising, walking dogs, being romantic or just chilling on a bench. Lots of kid friendly areas. There's a public gym area next to the track/football/soccer/baseball/track and field fields. Finished paths all throughout the park to enjoy riding on wheels and even wide forest trails to do off road adventures. I do admit it gets dirty and the debris scattered throughout is unattractive but if you can look past that there's a lot of possibility for good memories to be made. I recommend taking some time to go by the dog park and reach the shore of the Hutchinson River. The water is clean and the view is always relaxing. But fear not the sudden sounds of fireworks. That is just the shooting range on the other side of the river~ lol

The playground had a lot of kids but it didn't feel overly congested. However, this means you have to keep a very close eye on your child as thry can get lost on the crowd. The bigger park is pretty massive so there is lots of space for lots of different groups to do different activities on the field space. Trail seems a proper length for those who prefer not to use the track.

Awsome family friendly park with plenty of activities for everyone. There is an amazing track and field that is quite new and a fitness area that's great for doing calistetics like dips and push ups, leg lifts etc. There's plenty of space for picnicking, sunbathing or just people watching. There's also a great picnic area with BBQs and picnic tables for public use. And there's a Park Center located near the newly restored rest rooms. The soccer / football /baseball field is in great condition. There's a parking lot and public transportation is very close to the park.

I enjoy going to Pelham Bay Park due to the cleanliness and the respect of other people that are there working out, the only issue I have is once in awhile I see somebody going inside the track area with their dog which should not be allowed. It would be nice to have one of the park people passing through once in awhile just checking to make sure no one is in there with their dog.

I like the small playground in the front. Water sprinkler and fun structures to climb and slide down . Everything is with in your sight; so you can grab a bench and sit down. Beautiful place to go and relax and leave all the noises behind. Can't fish anymore, and stay away from the shooting range if you don't want random gunshots to ruin your park experience. I'd recommend going over the bridge near the landfill and riding some horses or playing some mini golf, or hitting up the beach for a little bit.

This park is good for whatever you want to do here. You can play softball, soccer, football, bocce, you can walk, run or bike in or around the park. You could even set up your own volleyball net and play. It has bathrooms but I don't know if they were open when we were there. It's right off the highway.

It's a very small put open park which attracts many pet owners. They have exhibits in the park that make you wonder what's going on. The park is okay it's just a little to small and not very accommodating. I found it interesting that pet owners had there dogs drinking from the same fountain as humans but then again I do not advise anyone is a park let along a park named Park Dog Run drink from the water fountain. There is no replay value here unless you have a pet or a blanket and book to read.

We arrived at Orchard Beach at 10:00 am today. The procession of lifeguards started exactly at 10:30. We intended just to walk on the concrete boardwalk a few times, but the humidity kicked in. The water was perfect. It's a beautiful beach. There are benches along the boardwalk, some shaded by trees. Even in this heat and humidity, there were a few people at the basketball and racket ball courts. Some people took their beach chairs into the grass areas under trees. The weekends has live salsa music.

Pelham Bay Park is the most wonderful place in the Bronx! The entire family will have lots to do and see. The wildlife includes black squirrels, oreoles, starlings, doves, Hawks, peregrine falcons, extremely friendly raccoon families. The Flora beauty is extraordinary and airplane watching is my family's favorite thing to do while visiting Pelham Bay Park... They fly over as they descend onto La Guardia's runways!!! There are track & field sporting areas as well as an outdoor gym ready to give you the summer figure of your wildest dreams! Families also enjoy a children's Park and outdoor picnic tables and grills sure to provide lots of entertainment memories to last a lifetime or two!

This is and was one of my favorite places growing up. The ONLY thing that would make this park any better is a FDR sized POOL. Other than that it's amazing. Lived in the Bronx 40+ years still haven't seen it all. The trails are something I've always wanted to check. You should tho if you decide to go. The park is sprawling and for some reason it's embedded so you really can't see the millions of buildings which surround it. Green, green green. Kids running, laughing chasing the Vendors (icees, cotton candy, toys) Really it truly a sight to see. There's basketball courts, football field, baseball field. It's basically THE BRONX FAMILY REUNION. PULL UP This how much I know, I had no idea that Itachi's Beach was a part of Pelham Bay

Extensive biking and hiking trails. Orchard Beach is probably NYC's least appreciated public beach. It boasts a huge, clipper-ship themed playground. Less crowded, family-friendly getaway every season. The usual tennis and basketball courts. However, the nearby driving range, golf course, horse riding opportunities, AND City Island help make this place extraordinary. The largest park in NYC doesn't fall short of expectations.

Beautiful park with plenty of space to hang with family and friends. There are designated BBQ areas and a children playground. There are miles long paths and several fields and courts for almost every taste (baseball, golf, basketball, hockey, football, bocce, handball,). There are food trucks in case you get hungry and do not like the food your friend brought. There are free and pay-per use Wi-Fi Hot Spots. The park is well kept but the bathrooms are another story. I visited three bathrooms and one was worse than the next. There wasn't even a toilet paper holder in the bathroom near the children playground and of course two rolls were on the floor swimming on pee. I have seen truck drivers rest stop bathrooms cleaner than these.

Me and my daddy rode our double bike through this park. You can find very good bike trails here to City Island with lots of seafood restaurants, Orchard beach on the long island sound. and Pelham Manor with so many things to do. You will have a blast at this park. There are also playgrounds and places for parties. There is also another beach on the Hutchinson River if you prefer more safe space in the water! It's roads provide transportation to places I listed in this review!

The best state park in the 5 boroughs during the day people come to walk their dogs, ride a bike, let there kids play in one of the 2 play grounds that Pelham bay had to offer but it's not the only park for dog loves who want to release their pet to run freely there is a dog park by the track and field next to a wall which has some history behind it. At night it's a good time to take a walk through the woods if you look very closely at the trees and bushes you can see the entire Forest light up with fireflies as it was like Christmas lights decorating the tree for Christmas in a summer night. If you're a tourist looking to get into about pelham bays wild life there is an office located in the center of the park viewable by the train crossing over highway over pass a bathroom is also available as well

I never attended a BBQ here. Why is that the first thing i want to mention? In case you don't know, Pelham Bay park is thee place to be in the Spring until it starts cooling down in October. On any given day of the week, you will see balloons, backdrops, clowns, DJ's, Aluminum pans, and lots of people in fellowship. I love that! The park itself near the playgrounds is a bit intense as it tends to be a hub for the homeless. So, you must take a keen eye to your children as they play. The sprinklers are awesome as well.

Great park and trails one of the biggest in New York City. Lots to offer, running track, picnic areas, play grounds for children and more. Come and enjoy Pelham Bay park with your families, it is awesome.

Beautiful park with orchard beach right there. The only problem is the loud music. Its ok to lusten to music at a reasonable volume, but not so loud the whole world can hear it. Not everyone likes that type of music and when played loudly, it inhibits others from enjoying their music. The music was loud and cheap.

18 holes, a cart, two beers and lunch for $53? I'd say that's the best deal in town. I definitely enjoy coming to play a round here and would recommend it to anyone.

It's a beautiful park. Plenty of spaces to lay a blanket. I track to run/walk, workout equipment, a playground area for children, basketball ball court, restrooms and so much more.

The park is huge and nice. Constantly being cleaned by staff. Gets crowded as the day progresses but overall it's nice.

I love this park so much, so many trees along with a track, a playground, and even a little work out area. This is a great place to take walks in or go exploring. There is even a dog park!

Every body's very nice they have grill's u can use just bring your own charcoal, they also have baseball fields and that's just the area I was at i didn't investigate I'm sure they have other aminetys. Have fun

Orchard beach is located in Pelham Bay Park and has a large swimming area. Great place for kids & adults. Lots of trails to walk on w birds & other wildlife. I have even seen deer here. Dogs are not permitted on the beach memorial day to sunday after labor day but are permitted the rest of the year. Great place to take your dog swimming or for a romp. Snack bar is open during beach season. There are also food carts along the board walk. City Island is a short walk.

So many scenic hidden spots in this park. Also designated areas for bbq's, and benches all throughout. I use it mostly as a jogging path. Through every season, beauty surrounds this park.

Quiet walks, nice beach and was relaxing as there were very few ppl there. There were no restrooms available, but ppl were doing barbecue.

Course has become really run down. Over 1/2 the traps are under repair. Play moved well though for a nice spring day.
