As of early 2022: There WAS 2 sides to this park. The "long term" side is closed and unlikely to open. It was temporary to start with to provide options after hurricanes and is no longer funded. There is a "Campground" side that is super nice. The staff is very helpful and friendly and there is a worker taking care of the grounds that puts in some serious hours. Max stay is six months with a months vacancy required before returning. The power is 30 and 50 amp and has been very stable. Sewer at each site and a dump station available. Utilities included in rental rate. Most sites are double concrete pads. You'll park on a fairly level slab with a nice paved patio side. There's WiFi that runs max about 5mbps. It can get bogged down during evening hours but there are plenty of nodes that give a strong signal throughout the park. WiFi is run by Navy MWR and requires a free account and login daily. Cell coverage is good from the big three carriers. No complaints about the water taste with plenty of pressure. Laundry is available and cheap. There are clean bathrooms with showers as well. There is a small pavilion with games to check out as well. Roads in the park were good when we got here then it rained for two weeks straight that took a toll. They are on it tho because I see a delivery of fresh gravel.
It is on a military base. You'll need the normal credentials to get on base. You should expect military sounds but they don't last all night. You do get a free airshow daily. There is a large commissary and exchange walking distance from the park. The rest of the base is clean and well kept. It's a joint reserve base and gets pretty quiet sometimes.
The local area is kind of at the edge of town. Expect about 30 minutes to French Quarter, more with traffic. About 15 to get to other big shopping areas with the typical urban stuff.

Naval Reserve base with a well maintained RV park. Level concrete pads on two back to back loops with full hook up and clean, lightly used bathhouses with super hot water shower. Surprisingly excellent Wi-Fi. Full sized NEX and commissary. 13 miles to Algiers Point Ferry Terminal for fast and easy access across the river to the French Quarter. If you have military base access, Highly Recommend.

I'm staying for a month. I'm impressed with it. I'm 100 % service and and no sponsor was needed for me. But get the pass from mwr and then go to front security for getting added to the system and then you can go on and off aa if you lived on base.

The park is well maintained and management is always helpful. Stays limited to 180 days. WiFi isn't very reliable, Starlink works great.

Cute clean small campsite full amenities free r both camp and base. Friendly staff. Navigation had me go thru ferry from downtown but was close at night. Met a local i followed via alternate bridge I90 then lafayette rd to belle chase pkwy (Rt23 I believe) easy distance to french quarters. Will use this camp again.

Great price, close to downtown New Orleans, must have base access!

If you have access to military bases this one in New Orleans is awesome. Large spaces, nice facilities and great staff.

Great place to stay, nice folks, nice camping area, will defiantly be back.

Stayed here over the weekend of the 27-28 of April 2019. Super clean facility! The staff was great and the installation exchange and commissary is a short walk down the road........and down town new Orleans is a short ride up......Took my motorcycle and had no problems riding in and out the gate. Remember military requirements..... Long pants, boots, long sleeve shirt or jacket, full finger gloves....and a helmet with eye protection....and after sun down a reflective vest ...or a coat with reflective material......... Gate gaurds were awesome!

Great cost. Good sized laundry rooms. Great location if you work on base. Commissary and BX are a block or 2 away. Gym is close, running track is close. The temp side has paved pads surrounded by grass and is well taken care of.
Wifi is abysmal. It is only good for checking email, and often you can't even do that. No ability to add a better connection (about 50 meg total bandwidth for around 90 spots or so). Cable not available. All dirt roads, frequently with large water filled potholes. Nothing gets fixed fast here (the downside to being on a base).
About a 25ish minute drive from the French Quarter area during light traffic. Traffic can be really bad during rush hour times.

This is a nice rv park with easy access to New Orleans. My wife and I stay here several times a year to visit the city and attend Saints games. The park is clean and well taken care of. They recently started a camp host program that should be helpful to visitors. One of the host stopped by to offer assistance and introduce himself. We will definitely return.

Super easy to access, even with a big rig. Spacious, concrete level, full hook-up, and super clean sites. Friendly staff. Great location. Incredibly reasonably priced. Will definitely be back.

No frills and the bathrooms were a bit of a disappointment. But overall it was a good place to bring a 23 ft popup camper for the night while in the New Orleans area. Close to the NEX too.
The bugs and frogs are pretty noisy, but that was welcome to us.
The Stop sign where you are supposed to turn left at (on way into the campground is a short one and we almost blew through the intersection because it was shorter than normal.

Nice and quiet park...with the occasional sound of freedom!

Clean and well maintained. Good access to downtown and good advice from MWR to save money and time, like the ferry. Would definitely recommend staying here if visiting New Orleans.
Julie Shumway
Great location for visiting NOLA. I suggest arriving during daylight hours. Very difficult to see to park at night. Most sites are back in, and the perimiter is narrow, making backing in and maneuvering the pickup difficult. We would stay here again if in the area.

Every time I've stayed there has been a positive experience. Close to the city and lots of amenities to go along with a clean and well maintained park. Only drawback is it's size, wish it was larger. Awesome staff...

Good long term stay for Military and DOD, wifi included, reasonable rates for laundry, good rates for long term stays. Long term and short term lots are separated by trees. The short term stay area is well kept, with a bath house and a couple of washers and dryers. Wifi is free, but satellite based, so it can be intermittant during storms or evenings when the usage is high. Electric and water are included, sewer hookups at each site. It is generally booked up during the fall, winter, and during Marti Gras, so you will need to make reservations well in advance.
Mike Blanchard
Great, cheap place to stay. Very safe. Just keep in mind, it's New Orleans so bring your bug spray.
Joanne Vincent
Aviation Arbor was a very nice campground. Restrooms and bath house were very clean laundry room was much cheaper than the last place we stayed and very clean. Hoping we can use this facility again sometime

This place is good. We really appreciate Shelly's help during our stay. The olny issue was the roads to get there. They are utterly destroyed.
Jerry Antoine
Great site. Camp Hosts we’re extremely helpful and easy to speak to.
Deborah Newlin
We enjoy staying here. It is a little close to the airfield, and there are some really bad potholes in the road, but the price is right, and the staff here is always friendly!
Susan Cearley
Great staff, base accomodations good. Highly recommend. Make reservation s, limited spaces. Laundry bath houses, PX, Commissary. Clean
Karen Snyder
Very well maintained and quiet park. We didn't stay this year * but we most definitely will next year in our travels.
Linda McIntyre
We were met by a friendly and informative clerk. Everything was clean and inviting. We only stayed 2 nights but will surely stop again.
Angela DiLoreto
Great and well maintained park. I wish they would enforce not working on RVs.
Edward Bartos
I highly recommend for our veterans. Very friendly people running it. Clean place. Quiet. Would go there again
Erika
Plenty of room, great prices and friendly staff. Just outside of the big city traffic but not so far that it cant be visited daily
Brenda Sykes
A great RV Park. It is a Navy Fam Camp so it is on base. You will need Military ID or to be sponsored in.
Mama_Einstein Martin
We have stayed twice here and have had a wonderful experience! Stephanie is great and we would be back again.
Barb Vanroosendaal
No shade, tons of stickers... Every time the dog went out he came back in coated in burrs that took forever to get out of his fur
Nope M.
WOOT!!! This park now has wifi!!! A bit muddy if it rains but there's WIFI!
Tracy Newlin
Great place to stay and see New Orleans. Some jet noise
Greg Dedeaux
The price could be a little cheaper for the long-term section since it is on a military base.
Gregg Gilbert
The staff is awesome. Very helpful.
