Great way to get outside and be in nature for a bit in Nashville! The main trail they have is about a mile, so it’s a perfect way to get a short walk in even for your dog as well. Highly recommend for locals or tourists alike!

This trail was so enjoyable that I came back the next day to ride again. Very peaceful and wonderful. Lightly trafficked and everyone was very polite and considerate of others on the trail.

Great park for observing wildlife. Paved and unpaved trails. We saw tons of deer, a few turtles, songbirds, and dragonflies.

Such a great nature play area here! Perfect for quiet, unstructured creativity! We will DEFINITELY be back to this lovely oasis of beauty in the middle of East Nashville!

The Shelby Bottoms Nature Center, is a beautiful Greenway trail, with a gorgeous view of the Cumberland River from the pedestrian bridge. Interesting art sculpture and natural wonders to see. Benches are available to rest and relax. Enjoy the view and the walk.

Stopped by to do a bit of hiking and seeing nature just before we headed home from our honeymoon and the staff was so informative and friendly!!
Park was much larger than I anticipated. Great paved roads for running, rollerblading, and bike riding.

Nice quiet place in the midst of the hustle bustle of the city. Beautiful views. Walk. Run. Rent a bike. Catch a ballgame (summer) the pond is gorgeous. The river is breathtaking. The nature center is beautiful but I’ve not been inside. The added hands on park for the kids is something I wish were there when mine were smaller.
It’s worth the stop. Bring a picnic. It’s Nashville at its finest. Plenty of parking.

Wow! Super happy to have found this great park! Great opportunities for hiking and biking. They even have rental bikes so if you are from out of town you can still enjoy a ride. It’s was really pretty and very spacious, plenty of parking, etc. get out and stay active while you are on vacation! Super easy to do it in a place like this!

This nature center was a pleasure to visit. The building is down at the end of a walkway off the main road, just past the train tracks overhead. An impressive building with a great view from the deck, it also sports a functioning green roof. The staff were friendly and engaging, and knowledgeable about Tennessee wildlife. There are activities for both younger and older kids (my 6 and 8 year olds enjoyed the animal tracks sandbox) and lots for adult nature enthusiasts to see as well. There are restrooms and a drinking fountain.
Tips for a successful visit with children:
1. Bring a lunch and/or lots of snacks. There is nowhere nearby to buy food.
2. Wear sunscreen and hats, closed toe shoes and socks.
3. The center has an ongoing calendar of events, so see if there is anything special happening before you go.
4. Check the weather report so you don’t get caught in the rain!
We ended up going on a rainy day that wasn’t great for using the trails; however, I’m looking forward to trying the Riverwalk Trail the next time we go.
