This is my new favorite place to camp. It's so nice! Very clean and well maintained. The beach is beautiful And the views of Lake pepin are fantastic!! Staff was wonderful! Very accommodating. If your a tent camper this is the place! Call ahead for a Lakeview site, They fill up fast on weekends. Best campsite around for tenting! Loved it! ♥️

Amazing place. Beautiful entry. Free beach, parking, trails but donations appreciated. Donation bins within park. You can rent on site cabins or tent. There is wide open space for kids and family hang outs. Lots of picnic tables. Kids playground, basketball court, volleyball court and beach. Public bathrooms and showers. Also, feet wash station. Bike tune up station. Access to Bike/rollerblade trail at enterance that goes along water into lake city for shops and food. Beautiful views. Pets are allowed on leashes. Poop, mutt mitt station. Must see and experience. Highly recommend!

Took some friends from out of town here over the weekend and one has some walking issues(uses a walker)and he was able to get to the beach and picnic area without any problems. The use of the free wagons was so helpful as we had a lot of stuff between the seven of us, coolers, chairs, etc. We a had a great time facilities were very clean, showers and bathrooms were great, the outside foot shower is located perfectly when you come off the beach. The place is very well taken care of and very clean. Such beautiful views...beach was very clean and very swimmable(nice sandy bottom). I live nearby and rarely come here but I knew my out of town guests would appreciate such nice accommodating facilities at a beach park. They had everything we needed for a day at the beach and a picnic dinner...even had clean grills and plenty of tables...made for a perfect day.

Really good views of the lake from the campsite we were at. The parking needs to be expanded. There was no parking and we were the guests. Designated parking is needed.

This was a lovely stop on our trip home from Rochester. Great time to get out of the we car, with easy access off the road. Playground was great for the kids. Only issue was finding a bathroom but we eventually found the outhouses. We spent way more time then we expected because the weather was beautiful. We walked on the trails and on the beach. The campsites look well maintained so we hope to come back and camp here sometime.

Great spot for hiking and walking. Take your pups down to the beach front and have a good time splashing around. Be sure to bring snacks for a break at the many tables and a tent if you’re staying overnight. Wonderful trek.

I came here for the first time after snow had covered everything. It was so beautiful! There are many trails to explore and picnic tables here and there. Amazing views of the Mississippi River also. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Beautiful beach, plenty of space to space out from people around you. Dogs welcome as well, mine bad an absolute ball of a day. Bathrooms are very clean as well.

We enjoyed our stay here but if we go back, will stay in the G or N sections which are much more secluded and quiet than the A section which was more crowded and noisy. The beach is fantastic but the sand is a little sharp so water shoes would be good to bring. The staff is very helpful and responsive, when we did have a noisy neighbor issue it was handled right away. My kids loved the basketball court and playground.

One of our favorite places to go for a walk. There are different trails and also the ability to walk along the beach. Great park for the kids too.

The campground is quite nice. It's huge, with plenty of grounds for hosting large gatherings. We didn't check out any of the recreational facilities, but the campsite we stayed at was nice and forested, with enough privacy. I woke up with a fat tick on me, so watch out!

Overall a nice park. The one thing I found odd is that we were told we couldn't drive our car to unload at the the campsite. Yet while taking a walk, we saw plenty of people driving up to their site to unload. On a 90f day, with high humidity, hauling gear to and from the parking load was really not fun. Why did some get to unload at their site but not us?

What a gem of a city park! They converted an old boy scout camp into a city campground with accessible cabins, and beautiful swimming beach. The weather was terribly hot that weekend and we stumbled into this place of r&r like the walking dead. All fully revived in the cold clear waters of lake pepin. <3

Stopped in our 25’ RV and parked in the parking lot to ride out the rain and enjoy the park for a little while. It’s beautiful and well taken care of. My husband went in the office and was treated poorly and rudely like we shouldn’t be enjoying this fantastic park. It’s so beautiful and sparked real emotion for me on a damp fall day after walking our dogs around the park, only to be rudely greeted in the office by a city employee. Not a very nice welcome for a visitor. Wow. Wanted to come back some day but if this is how visitors are treated, no thanks. Pretty sad. In the middle star review due to the employee. Otherwise five stars.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds to visit every year (since 2011). We've started to bring friends along the last couple years, and they have really enjoyed it as well. Joanne is great and helpful, and we always look forward to planning our next trip. Things that we enjoy: Being right by the water, group sites, cabin rentals, eagle sightings, the large beach, the expansive layout of the grounds, close to Lake City (check out the Bank Bar), the friendly staff, the office is convenient (they carry basic items you might need or forgot), and is just an all around great place. We highly recommend it.

Really pretty park. Nature's trails are easy walking. Paved extension of the city path from parking lot to join with the city's walking path is littered with pepples though. Very dangerous for skates and smaller bikes. The park's driveway is awesomely smooth.

Date of Visit: 10/19/2021 - Visited this place just to look around a bit during what is likely "off season." There were only a couple other people in the park & everything seemed to be put away. Lovely beach, tons and tons of shells. Would anticipate this location being very busy in the summer.

Great park hidden off the beaten path. There are campsites, cabins and a swimming beach. The water is beautiful and the wild life is pretty amazing. Eagles and pelicans are plenty. A great place to visit.

The camp manager is amazing. Late season camping and the fact a tornado might have touched down on our way there one night did not deter her from being super helpful and accommodating. Also the camp grounds are top notch and well kept, even hours after tornado. We stayed the night after and it was almost cleaned up. Amazing.

We had our wedding here on 9/16/18. It was the most gorgeous setting for a perfect day. Joanne was great to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. The day could not have gone better. The a-frame chapel is so perfect we didn’t have to anything to decorate it. We chose two of the picnic shelters which was the perfect amount of space for 70 guests. There were more than enough tables to set up 2 buffets and have plenty of seating. This place is stunning and we can’t wait to go back. Thank you Joanne! Ian and Danny

I had an amazing weekend here.great view campsites were descent size for bigger groups. Manager was so amazing she let us park in her driveway because my friend had expensive tools in his truck. Had a great time fishing. I would recommend this place to anyone.

An annual tradition for our family. Wonderful place for an easy get-away from the Cities for a weekend. Joanne, the manager is great and works hard to make it a fantastic experience for everyone who comes to the park - day-visitors and overnight-campers. Group sites have a nice amount of space around them.

Beautiful little park right on Lake Pepin - kids enjoyed the playsets and open spaces. We did not have much time to visit but would have liked to spend longer and explore some of the hiking trails and the small public beach. Great investment by Lake City.

Very clean and nice campgrounds. Friendly staff, great beach, great park. Amenities available for purchase at the office. Be prepared for a bit of walking, as cars are only permitted on site for loading and unloading. Otherwise they must be kept in the parking lot.

This is a great park for a family picnic a family family reunion, or swimming at the beach. It has bathroom facilities with showers. You can also Camp there. And the setting is very beautiful many mature trees surrounding the area along with the main attraction the Mississippi River

Mom Of 2 Amazingly Wonderful Children

Awesome beach on Lake Pepin, and dogs are allowed too! They must be on a leash. The heavy duty wagons were so great to help haul the cooler and beach gear down to the sand. I was able to do laps out near the bouys. The depth changes quickly, so life jackets for the littles is best!

Nice place to BBQ and weekend tour with family.. The oven is free.. But first come first serve basis. Nice beach where you can swim also.. they offer camping also. You can rent some hall for party...

Launch my boat there a lot as it is the best around as far as wind and waves. Only had a problem once with one guy not following proper etiquette. All in all my go to spot when hitting Pepin.

Neat place. A few cabins with a 70's feel to them. Apparently, you need to reserve your cabins way ahead of time because this place is quite popular. Decent beach. Lots of families on the beach having fun.

Cycled to the park from our RV (at another campground ). We were very pleasantly surprised. Beautiful setting. Posted some photos to Google. Hok-Si-La does not cater for RV's, but if you tent-camp, you HAVE to pay this place a visit!

I love the partial car-lessness of this campground. You drive in, unload your stuff and then drive out to park your car. It makes for a slightly more rustic--and quiet--campground experience.

There is a permanent outdoor chapel built specially for weddings here. The park also seemed well maintained. I would definitely visit again if I was in the area!
