I went here for a little weekend getaway by myself. I was a little nervous as I had never camped alone and am younger woman. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted and welcomed. It’s a gated park at night so that made me feel even safer. I was there for 2 nights and never felt scared once. This is a great little campsite if you need something a little quieter since it’s not directly on the lake. The lake is a couple minute drive though if that’s what you want. The bathroom was very clean. Definitely enjoyed my stay and will be back there again very soon!

We needed a place for our 38 foot fifth wheel and my parents 40 foot class A on our trip back to Chicago and Mabel was able to get us two spots thankfully. What a beautiful campground. So serene and peaceful. No loud people or traffic. Definitely will be back!!

New owners as of March 2020 and they are fantastic. Have seen many improvements since I was here last year and more planned. Owners are on site, very welcoming, friendly and helpful.could not ask for better. The place is clean and well maintained. It is so quiet and beautiful views. Pet friendly. Staying for a month, prices reasonable.plan to stay here again next year!! Addendum, this park just keeps getting better and better. Now we have good wifi and a dog park. By the time I come back the miniature golf will be up and running. I love this park!

Really nice park. Great, level lakefront site. A little close together with the next site, but that’s lakefront. There are more spacious sites elsewhere on grounds. You can see they are putting some serious money into numerous improvements throughout.

Really nice camp ground run by great people who want you to enjoy your stay and will do everything they can to make it a good experience. Really pretty pond out in front of campgrounds.

Highly recommend this park. It had been closed for many years and the new owners opened it back up in spring of 2017. Some things still need work (playground is old, minimal and muddy, only 1 set of washer/dryers, pools still closed etc) but everything they have gotten to to fix up looks great. The folks who run the place are really fantastic, which inspired the 5-star review. Upon arrival we asked for a picnic table and for a limb to be cut down so we could open our awning. Before I had even walked back to the camper the 2 men were there talking to my husband about the tree and within the hour the limb was cut and we had a picnic table. Spots are all pretty level and have a good amount of space between them. Very quiet and scenic, the kids loved running around and fishing. This park has a lot of room for improvement but they are well on their way!
My only word of advice is the entrance/exit. There is a right turn up a hill marked as the “entrance” this will take you past the office. You can also continue straight to enter the park, this has no uphill but does have a bit of a sharp turn. Suggest taking a look at both options to see which would work better for your rig.

This is a very nice and clean campground. The owners are amazing and they will do anything they can to help you . It’s a beautiful campground. We will be back if in the area.

First thing worth mentioning is Gary and Mabel (the owners) are incredible, which makes it hard to only give them a 3 star.
The good: Beatiful and convenient location, 4th of July live band, dog park.
The bad: Spotty WiFi, only 1 washer and dryer
The ugly: The sites had overgrown weeds, the pool is closed and filled with stagnant water
Great place overall, but they need a little help on upkeep with the property

I used to frequent this park 25 years ago as a teen. Not sure the circumstances but it shut down until recently, now I've never seen it look so good. Many good memories were made here for me those many years ago. I'm glad it's back and looking great.

We have greatly enjoyed our time at Taylorsville RV Park. The grounds are kept clean, grass kept mowed, roads are smooth, facilities are clean. But the best part about Taylorsville is Gary and Mabel. They are passionate about caring for their guests, and it shows in all they do. They want you to enjoy your time at the park whether you’re there for a weekend or a few months. If you are looking for an RV park in the area, look no further!

More like home than a RV Park. We’ve stayed at over a hundred RV Parks all over the US and Canada and this tops our list for being the one place we’d like to live at! Mable and Gary retired and bought this a little over a year ago. They have been making improvements and additions ever since. Just after we left they will bring in the two rescue race horses just to look at and admire. Best stock up on carrots! They just brought in fast WiFi a few days before we got there and it worked great. More additions are on the way. On our way there our Refer died full of food. Mable graciously let us use their chest freezer and even gave us a cooler for our cool stuff. We stayed 10 days and enjoyed every minute. It a combination of a RV Park and like a state or national park has a lot of open space, a pond and fields all around. It’s over 30 acres and less than 80 campsites. Really nice. We will definitely be coming back and often.

Nature lovers paradise. We saw a juvenile osprey catch a fish from the pond, a sandhill crane, multiple families of geese, and more cardinals than you've seen in your life during our 2.5 month stay. There is so much love in this park. It is a slice of heaven and you can tell the owners care about the land/wildlife/ecosystem just as much as the park itself. Don't skip this one. Just passing through? Stay a few days. Seriously. You won't regret it. We already have future reservations here. This park is Kentucky.

This place is very welcoming and well kept. We enjoy our time everytime we are here.

I have camped here several times. The hospitality of the owner and his wife is second to none! My 2 most recent trips in the past month and a half were amazing. One being the first time I had pulled my travel trailer on my own. The owner accompanied us to our site and very patiently directed me in getting the trailer backed into place. He checked on us a couple of times to see that we got everything set up as needed. The grounds are kept immaculately and the park is quiet and relaxing. The owner checked on us at checkout and even assisted me in emptying the camper tanks. That’s beyond customer service. I can’t say enough about the hospitality and beauty of this campground! Thank you for making my maiden voyage such a wonderful trip!
There are several campgrounds close by; however, I chose to camp at this location again Labor Day weekend because of the great experiences there in the past. Yet again, the hospitality was second to none. Thank you again for making our memories so positive. I have camped in many campgrounds over the past 25 years and never had such amazing customer service and hospitality as I have at Taylorsville RV Campground! Will definitely return in the future! Happy Campers!

NO SHADE, NO DOG RUN, NO PLAYGROUND, NO WIFI and very tight sites..
What they do have is an excessively sharp downhill turn coming into the park. Traveler beware, do not follow the staff leading you in, go straight past the pond and turn further in, unless you want to damage your truck & rig as these poor unfortunate souls have done.
Upsides, the staff is friendly and the scenery is nice.
Kristin
Bathrooms warm and clean. Safe environment close to the lake.

We came to this campground when the state closed the nearby state park due to the COVID-19 virus. The campground owners welcomed us and are very diligent at practicing social distancing. They are currently leaving one empty campsite in between each occupied site for extra distance. This campground is under new ownership and Gary and Mabel were wonderful in assisting us to a great site. When we wanted to extend our stay they went out of their way to accommodate us. Gary takes the time to check on us every day to see if there's anything we need. Last night a really bad storm rolled through and Gary was out driving around in the storm to see if he could provide any assistance. They are good people. The park is beautiful with a lake view and the sites are laid out nicely. I particularly like the sites on the top of the hill overlooking the lake, but if fishing is your thing they have at least a half-dozen or more sites right on the lake.

The owners have done an exceptional job at getting the grounds back up and ready for campers. They have full hook up sites who h is really nice. They also have a park, laundry and shower facilities, a volley ball court, and perfectly sized catch and release pond that make camping with them a joy. Very well worth it if you enjoy camping in a not so crowded place.
Mike Clark
Great place! We were met by the staff and great southern hospitality. The camp site is fantastic. They guided us into our site, helped direct while we backed in and offered to help us with any hook-ups. They even offered to move the picnic table where ever we wanted it placed. You can tell they have been working hard to make this a place for all to return to in the future.

This place is wonderful. The owners are so lovely! I'm not entirely sure, but I think they have recently acquired this property. They are continuously doing improvements around the park to fix things that are run down. I have 2 gripes which keeps me from giving the 5 star rating. #1 the pools are closed, which is fine, I'm sure they need tons of repairs and they just can't get to it yet...but there is standing water in these pools that is a breeding ground for bugs. #2 the monthly price was a bit steep compared to others within 50 miles of Louisville, however they were the only ones who had open spaces.
We greatly enjoyed our month long stay and recommend it!

The people running this campground are some of the friendliest people that I've encountered.
The area is a very clean, and well manicured.
The bath house is kept in great condition and is always perfectly clean!
It's a fabulous spot for families who want to unwind, relax and spend quality time with each other.

We had a great time here from the start. Nice and thoughtful owners, guided us to our spot and helped us back in. Our site had a great view of the little lake that is on the property. Sites are wide, gravel and level. We had full hookups so didn’t make it up to the showers.
brenda barrickman
Owners and their helper Jeff are really nice and helpful. Looked like they were adding a few new sites. Been there twice to tour the facilities and always clean and well kepted. Looking forward to booking with them real soon.

Great spots, great location! The owner Gary is very sweet and clearly cares about his guests here. We used this as a halfway point between Louisville and Lexington for the Bourbon Trail and it was perfect

The owners have spent countless hours working on this campground and it shows! Nice clean sites, great fishing lake for the kids. Just across the street from the road to Settlers Trace boat dock!!! I recommend this place to anyone with a RV. Great place for those of you that have a boat to go out on Taylorsville lake!!!
