Reviews of Iroquois Park
Vorlon
First time enjoying this park. Came for the fun Jack o lantern event and I loved the creative jack o lanterns and the unique carvings and pumpkins. The themes were fun and I can't wait to see what next year brings. The wait wasn't long either. My party and I forgot to buy tickets online so we got tickets there quickly and went through the line before the event very quickly. There are bars and a food stalls while you wait as well. Overall very fun time.
Lindsey VanDeMark
Went for the Christmas lights and was pleasantly surprised at the display. Preferred the Halloween display better. But there were a lot less people at the Christmas one which made it so much more enjoyable.
Tracey Milburn
It's always nice to see the Jack O'Lanter spectacular event. This x year however, seemed much shorter, fewer artistic pumpkins. But as always, had wonderful volunteers and was simply beautiful.
Sandeep Raja
The parking at the park was ample and the access to the park was very easy. The trail maps help everyone to access different paths and the internet connectivity throughout was well connected, no where on the trail I had connectivity issues. I have been here during the Jacks a Lantern festival too and it did not disappoint, there was lot to watch and because of the pandemic there were less people than usual at the festival.
J. Lawrence Easton
The Jack O’Lantern Spectacular at Iroquois Park is one of the most fantastic experiences I have encountered. The Jack O’Lanterns are so detailed, cool and awesome they are living works of Art! Highly Recommend!
leanne pierce
Came for the jack-o-lantern spectacular and definitely don't regret driving 6 hours to see it. The precision that the pumpkins are cut with is incredible! So much talent! Zero complaints except one a$$hole parking attendant that felt the need to be condescending when HIS cones were in the wrong spot for blocking some mud. They were fixed later...shocking.
Megan Resnik
We attended the pumpkin spectacular and ot was fun. It was so exciting for the kids. Lines moved quickly. It was a really good thing for Iroquois Park.
Jonathon Myhre
This place is huge!!!! I’ve done two 5K’s here and walked the trails several times. Lots of concerts here and not to mention the pumpkin trail that happens almost every year. I love coming here.
Darren Carter
Amazing carvings and painted pumpkins, lite crowded but still worth the visit.
Tracy Davis
The jack o lantern spectacular was a cool thing to see. Very family friendly. The lines form early so get to your time slot a little early
Heidi Harvey
Plenty of seating, with many under shade for staying out of the sun. The splash pad was off, so was the water fountains. We had fun anyway!
Autumn Ledbetter
Came here for the Jack O’Latern festival. A few tips:
Get your tickets ready before hand. Screenshot them or put them in your wallet. Service is bad so you may have issues loading.
The line can be long - but it moves fast! Bring a thermos of hot chocolate if it’s cold or grab a beer closer to the entrance. You won’t be standing in one place long.
Once you’re inside: it’s congested in the beginning but will open up as you walk.
Bring glow sticks!! The dollar tree has tons.
April Marie
Drove 2 hours to see the Jack O Latern Spectacular. Easy place to get to. Plenty of parking. The line to get in moved quickly. The pumpkins were awesome! Only downside was some the crowd were touching them after we were told not to. Maybe more staff along the ways to keep better watch would be helpful with that. Would definitely go again!
Laura TRUE
Beautiful park. Lot of activities. Playground, tennis, basketball, hiking, car shows, you can even bring your horse and go for a ride on the beautiful horseback riding trails. Plenty of horse trailer parking by the riding arena. Also close to some great food establishments.
Lisa Peters
Went to the Jack o Lantern Spectacular and it was oversold, over crowded, poorly planned and poorly managed. The park needs new pavement on the sidewalks. Almost fell several times. The wait for a 7:30 ticket was over 2.5 hrs. Only two people scanning tickets. Several people had their vehicles broken into. Pumpkins were really great but the experience wasn't worth $55. Unfortunate. We were so excited and so let down by the whole experience.
Sarah Denise
I've been for a few different events and have loved them all. Got to Weird Al this last time over the weekend! It was amazing. He was Legendary!!!
I've gotten to listen to Lindsey Stirling with my family while the kids play in the park. Been to two of their Jack o Lantern events with the kiddos as well.
Lorenzo Sanders
Loved it! So far the best park in Louisville & I try to visit them all. I walked the trail & it was great. It took about a hour to complete but it was so cool & peace. And it had a nice hill so I felt the burn. Simple park but a good one
Alan Espinet
I really like this place. It fits for everything I need: walking, running, walking my dog, spending some time with nature, clearing my mind while breathing some clean air when I need it. It’s beautiful, It’s big, has wide open areas as well… very good place from my point of view.
John McCabe
Just came for the Jack-o-lantern spectacular. It was beautiful and not overly costly (considering they use ticketmaster for this event), could of been cheaper though. The park looked very nice with a good amount of parking. Looking forward to attending this again in the future.
Corbin Jewell
The Jack-o'-lantern Festival is really something.
I don't recommend going on Saturday just before Halloween, though.
Christina Barksdale
Of you haven't been to the Jack o lantern spectacular you are missing out. A great family memory.
Yoansy Cruz
Great for having good time with your family
Ugh tired
Went to Louisville Jack O'Lantern Spectacular and expected it to be a drive thru but we got to walk through the woods and see all the cool craved pumpkins that referenced varies shows/movies. It was cool but once we got through the ticket counter and around the crowds it warmed up.
Andrew GottWorth
A wonderful park. Truly a gem. It’s great for families or individuals. Some highlights are: 18 hole disc golf course, overlooks of the city (the northern one being probably the best overlook in the city), playgrounds, picnic spots, hiking trails, excellent events (like the Jack O Lantern Spectacular), top notch performances and concerts at the amphitheater, and races.
Levi Crowder
This is the nicest park in the city imo. Great trails for running or hiking. Very nice playground. You’ve got an amphitheater, golf course, disc golf course, multiple basketball courts. It’s beautiful there year round as well.
Mark French
Best Park in town. Near city yet a natural old forest 🎄. Great view across city and into southern Indiana from lookout summit point. Natural meadow on top of central him area. Disk golf course, ball golf course, playground, amphitheatre show performance venue, easy and plenty of free parking. Hiking trails. …
Stephanie Wilson
Love this place....loved riding horses thru the park when I was young... I think they still have stables 🤔 beautiful place ...evrn has playground area for kiddos..they have courts for hoops and plenty more …
Adrien Kooyman
So I should first mention that the photos for this review were from the annual Jack O Lantern spectacular which is held at night so being able to see the park and critique everything is slightly skewed, however I have been to Iroquois Park a few times previously and I have really enjoyed it each time. The park is large and perfect for some outdoor fitness. There's an outdoor amphitheater that is absolutely beautiful when lit up at night. We had a great time and we will be back.
Scott Neal
Has an amazing hiking/bike trail with really awesome photo spots that u can stop and take pictures of downtown Louisville from.
Sara Beth Wade
This is a review of the Jack O' Lantern Spectacular only - it's a really great event, even with the long waits in line (for me arriving after 9, a solid 1.5 hour wait.) There is section after section of themed pumpkins like saloon, fairy tales, cartoons, space, under the sea, pirate, one after the other each with their own music. There's even a really touching segment at the end with pumpkins carved for those we lost this year. There is a general scene set with plastic "static" pumpkins and sets with beautifully carved large pumpkins up front every few feet. They really are amazing!
My only beef with the event is that for a family, $35 (nearly $40 with tax) is reasonable, but for a single person in a car, a tourist from out of town with no contacts here, it's pretty steep just for one person. And almost the ENTIRE display is oriented to the passenger side of the car. It obviously geared for one person to drive (and not stop) and for the passengers in your car to take pictures and look. But again, for a solo traveler, it was really hard to drive and try to take pictures out of the passenger side window at the same time! Plus it was raining pretty good, so with the passenger side window fully open, I ended up opening up my umbrella to shield the passenger seat and its contents from the rain. I managed, but it was kind of miserable. By the end, I was cold and damp and it was after 11:00 and nowhere was open for me to get a warm drink. I kind came away from it pretty grumpy!
It is worth going, but I'd like to see what it's like on foot with concessions and an opportunity for better pictures.
Denise Johns
On this day the gates were closed. There is a small area to park at the base of the road. We started to walk to the overlook but it would've been a 1.6 mile walk up the hill. Not good for people with mobility issues unless you can drive up there or have a motorized scooter.
Leo Kot
The light show was incredible. Great park for a stroll.
FreedomFocus Flow
This mountain park is BIG and still inside town limits and it's a LOT of walking to get to the top. Beautiful area, plenty of wildlife, trash cans periodically placed on the road and is wheelchair accessible all the way to the top. It'll be quite a workout regardless of how you get to the top. Some people cut straight up the side and ignore the paved trail, and if you take the circular trail, it'll take you an hour or so to reach the top of the mountain. At the top is a beautiful overlook of Louisville even at night and it's quiet up there, plenty of parking, water grates here and there to prevent flooding, and multiple ways to get in and out of the park area. I've seen lots of deer here and the park is animal friendly with plenty of space for social distancing. I just wish there were bathrooms.
Xavi Ky
Overall we had a good time here. Not as awesome as Light under Louisville but still worth it for the price 😉 …
Jared Hinton
It’s a pretty nice park on the South end of town. Decent golf course for the money, some good walking paths and views, and a great amphitheater with amazing events! Jack-o-lantern Spectacular is something to see!
Canday Adams
Went for the Christmas light show,it was very exciting. Great job putting that together.
huckster78
The jack-o'-lanterns were very cool but the place wreaked. I cannot stress enough how bad it smelled. Nobody takes showers anymore and it smelled like a zoo exhibit.
Samantha Lahey
We brought our dog and had a great time! The park is beautiful and the trails are a lot of fun.
Shannon Dean
Mice walking trails and going up to the over look is a must. Great for sledding, the amphitheater, and the Jack o lanterns in fall and Christmas Lights in winter!!!
Jackie Johnson
Very nice park a lot of trails to walk your dog or just walk or run whatever suits you took myself a nice 3mile walk with my sister n law we had a great time
Michael Smith
The pumpkin event was pretty amazing; my 4 year old was stoked the entire time. The attractions were top notch, but the way the park team was able to move groups in and out I never felt constrained as it was fluid. We will definitely be back next year.
Mark Castro
Great place to get some sum and bring the kids or walk the dog, they have a bunch of activities you can do, I mainly go to hike the trails...
LaDonna Wells
Really enjoyed the Jack o Lantern Spectacular. Nice themes, cool pumpkins, the line moved pretty well considering how long it was.
Julie Leskiv
It has been several years since last time i visited the scenic overlooking hill...have to say that this time was disappointing to say the least. The path is great, through the shaded paved road is beautiful, but when you get to the overlook there is nothing to see but trees. The top was remodeled, the wall is now gone, the parks placard is no longer there and trees are so tall that they cover everything.
Brandi Hauk
We went to the the 2021 Jack O lantern spectacular. The display was awesome, we went on a Thursday night and it was still a little busy, so expect crowds and waiting to see certain pumpkins.
Laurie Brown
I love Iroquois Park. This is the best park in Louisville. I walk my dog here. There's a 1 mile loop, a 7 mile loop, a lookout point with views of downtown Louisville, a playground for the kids, an amphitheater with great concerts and movies under the stars, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball nets, a frisbee golf course, a golf course, horse back riding trails, archery targets, and gazebos to rest under. If that's not enough there's the Jack O' Lantern Spectacular every October, Car Shows, Chili cook off between local fire departments, neighborhood picnics and the park is across the street from the newly rehabilitated Colonial Gardens.
Kaldwell Grant
On the day that I went the climb to the top was closed to cars. Which was perfect. Couldn't see much from the overlook, and I could have used a bathroom. That keeps it from getting that last star.
Sara Ballew
My favorite place for a challenging walk/run in the city. Paths and trails are wide and well maintained, though, the trailheads could be a little more well marked. Great playground and water park for kids. Play equipment, jungle gym included, is wheelchair accessible and there are adult size swings with secure, hard plastic harnesses for individuals with special needs.
H David Rittner
Nature. While hiking through the park I came upon 5 beautiful Does grazing and then ran into two more times. Also, I enjoyed all of the variety of birds as well as the views of the city off in the distance.
Debbra Santiago
I love this park. Have been bringing my kids here since they were little. Now I bring my grandkids and the new water feature is family fun for everyone.
Niamath Basha
Didn’t explore much but nice Play area for kids. My son enjoyed playing in water
Steph Rashae
It's such a huge place! So much to see and explore. Plus I got to run down to the playground and get in the sprinklers!
Beverly Ray
The Jack O Lantern Spectacular at Iroquois Park is fabulous. We always attend every year. During COVID, the drive through experience was just as good!
Linda Soeder
This is a Awesome activity to do for the hoildays..The lights are beautiful and the tunnel is just breath taking.
Dahiana Brito
Yesterday night was my fist time experiencing Jack O'lantern and it was such a magical thing. My friends and I were amazed and happy as if we were kids. I wish I could come back next year.
David Rittner
Best park in Louisville!
I love the trails, wildlife, and facilities throughout the park.
It's the largest of the urban Olmsted Parks and is amazing and beautiful.
Bonnie Jackson
Very beautiful park went to jack o lantern spectacular there .we go every year.want to give a big thanks to all the workers and volunteers for making this an exceptional experience every year we attend we enjoy it so much.
Oskar Mattsson
Seems to be s nice park. Admittedly I only visited during the Jack-o-Lantern Spectacular in 2022, so I more experienced that than I did the park itself.
Tony Mattingly
The Jack o lantern spectacular was a whole bunch of fun for my family
Becky Hibbard
They are way over selling tickets. It was so overcrowded I missed the first part of the display because it was shoulder to shoulder people. As well I have never experienced such RUDE staff! They guy directing traffic was screaming at people because the whole situatiin was confusing with cars coming from every direction, people walking and standing in the path of the cars. The group infront of us got separated from part of their party and was directed by a man standing where people were purchasing tickets to walk up the steps and wait for them just outside the fence. As they approached and stopped off to this side outside the fence the woman inside the fence started screaming at them telling them to stand up against the fence and she dont know why it is so hard to understand she had said it a million times that night. Well ok but they had literally just walked up and we were right behind them and heard her say nothing. Then she proceeds to the bottom of the steps and starts yelling at folks again and complaining that she has said it a million times that night. Well I guess they need speakers throughout the park and they can play her announcement over and over then people might hear her announcement but for goodness sakes STOP yelling at everyone! I get it is busy and you are tired but you don't have the right to scream at folks just walking up.
Arthur Husein
Beautiful scenery! Came on a rainy day and will definitely be returning. An absolute dream place to go for a run!
Ricardo Villarreal
Jack o lantern show was awesome the kids loved it.
Ken Griffin
Attended Jack-o'-lantern Spectacular. Over 5,000 carved Jack-o'-lanterns. Superb art! Wonderful evening!
Mahalakshmi Dinesh
Liked the playground with sprinkler lots of fun for the kids and nice trail for walking too.
Cliff Adams
Went for the Halloween pumpkin walk. Lots of people at the 6:30 time slot, but the pumpkins were amazing!
William Pace
Park is beautiful, the tennis courts not so much. Nets were gone, except one. Wut up wit dat
Sister C
Went to Winter Wonderland. BEAUTIFUL!
Worth the money. Take your kids!!!
Joshua Middleton
Great attention to detail in the carvings and overall setup. Beautiful, family friendly, clean and I would recommend this for anyone and their families.
Elizabeth Olvera Perez
My daughter always has a wonderful time here no matter if she is playing on the playground with the other kids or if we are climbing the hill to get to the lookout... Theres always a great time to be had here.
Emma Elisabeth
Gorgeous park. Very secluded playground and basketball court at the top of the hill past Lookout Point. Great hiking park.
Susan Bussell
I have tried to come here since the first time I experienced The Jack O Lantern Spectacular. Never disappoints me.
Sonia Clark
Great Christmas Lights, Great experience and so beautiful. Great job putting this together for our enjoyment.
Maegan Mcvey
Jack-O-Latern Spectacular was awesome! We picked up pizzas from Blaze and had them while we waited in line. Be prepared for an hour or so wait. So worth it :)
Julie M Nevitt
Memories of yesteryear driving through... the lower part. Way back when the upper part....and the lookout. Mostly good experiences up there... but a few not so good... not terrible.
Matthew Peace
The pumpkins were great!
Nancy Lefebvre
This park is great for walking or running. The paved loop will bring you back to where you started without getting lost. The trails also circle around the park which are suitable for trail running. Theres disc frisbee stations, huge playground with a watering station, basketball , tennis, and an amphitheater. To get a great look on the city you can walk to the top of the lookout.
The only downside is safety. In the recent years things are getting more sketch. It wasn't as bad when they had the road closure. But its very common to be with your family and to smell weed and see high/drunk, questionable individuals.
David Williamson
Beautiful with hiking trails horse riding trails disc golf, golf concerts, carshows. Its got itall
Jill Hussar
At the recent concert featuring Robert Cray & Boz Scaggs
Ines Silva
I love this place. Its vegetation is spectacular. I've never seen such beautiful trees as here. I highly recommend it for a family outing in the woods. And why not a Sunday picnic.
Amanda Rado
Great place for so many activities. Only downside is that people are extremely disrespectful with the way they leave the restrooms.
John Robert Klem
Lovely, super clean park with great trails—during the day. It isn't safe after dark, but that's true for most parks in the city.
Luna Jackson
Beautiful park! Also went for the Jack-O-Lantern Spooktacular, which is amazing in and of itself.
Wesley Barbour
Went to the jack o lantern exhibit. It's amazing. $35 for a car load, and everyone loved it! So much talent!
Dana Whitman
Beautiful park.
I still love going there with my dog. 🦮
Marla Joiner
Iroquois Park is my home. Its beauty is undeniable. I've been going here for many many years and will continue to do so.
Darius Walker
Hands down one of my favorite spots in Louisville, it's simple. Enough to nature to feel you're outside, but enough pavement around to remind you you're in civilization. Heading toward the top of the hill there is a road that winds up which can be walked/ran or biked up every day and (I believe) Saturdays and Sundays one can drove their car to the top. Near the peak is a serene look out which displays all of downtown Louisville and the surrounding areas. At the bottom of the park there are basketball courts, a large play ground for kids small and large. This is a great way to spend a couple hours in louisville free of charge, whole getting fresh air and sunlight.
Crista Davis
The drive through jack-o-lantern experience was better than expected.
Robb Fedou
Easy in and easy out for a concert. Really enjoyed it and what a great spot to have in Louisville
Shawn
The park is a jewel in the city. My only complaint is that the road access is closed more often than open
Kathleen Gray
Great time seeing all the carved pumpkins. Thank you. Well done!
Patty Bunting
Visited during Jack O'Latern Spectacular. Workers/volunteers were very friendly and helpful.
RJM
The event sponsored by LMPD was pretty nice event. Face painting and bounce houses for kids. Slushies, popcorn, cotton candy and ice cream for the kids. Lots of give-a-ways when you got there and several drawings for prizes. They even had Kroger there grilling out hot dogs and hamburgers. Very nice event for kids and families.
Stephanie Hall
Beautiful place! We went for the Jack-o'-lantern 🎃 Spectacular & loved it!! …
poodz
I only saw it at night. There was a pumpkin patch there when we went. A lot of really cool professionally done pumpkins. All in all, a really nice place!
David Ayres
Went for the jack-o'-lantern spectacular and it was a very well run event
Djzhoods
Really just passed by but I've been to the water park part with the swings etc. It's a good free place to keep kids occupied in the summer. EDM fan? Check out Djzhoods on YouTube.
Jason Puckett
Very nice park and great concerts!!
K “Aurora” Boyd
Took our dog to the fountain. She had a blast
Linda Hubbard
Jack O Lantern Spectacular worth the trip beautiful well landscaped trail
sjp stevenjohnsonphotography (stevenjohnsonphotography)
Nice trails and park. Plenty to do. Disc golf, archery, hiking, biking trais
Theresa Tyler
Visited the jack-o'-lantern spooktacular. It was well worth the time we spent. Our 20 mo old grandson was mesmerized.
Jessica Brown
For the size of the crowd, the entrance line moved pretty quickly. The talent displayed in the carved pumpkins is phenomenal! Our family experienced the History of Television theme and those pumpkins were breathtaking! I recommend good shoes for grown folks and strong strollers for tiny tots because the terrain isn't flat. But, it was definitely a great time and worth seeing! We WILL be back! :)
Philip Bowers-Zorn
A beautiful park. My favorite of the original Olmsted designed city parks. Been going there since I was a child. Developed, mature woodlands, abundance of wildlife, and shady trails.
Rhonda Crone
One of the best places ever for concerts and events. Wonderful place with great people working for them. It youve never been here for a concert this is the year to come. Come see Martina Mcbride or Willie Nelson or even Weird Al this year.
Michael Copeland
This is my favorite place to run bike and train for most events held here in louisville the triple Crown runs through this park so i get real chance to work on the very hills I'll hit during the race
DeLillian Romero
One of my favorite parks. I have walked the park, roller bladed, jogged and rode my bike through Iroquois Park. I have enjoyed it all! My only disappointment is that the bathrooms are not open. But that is all the parks except the Lou. Loop! If the parks are open the bathrooms should be open.
Karl Borns (Kar El)
Loved this drive through exhibit. Their seasonal displays are well worth the time.
latoya smith
Nice experience for the kids..plenty of parking space..friendly atmosphere..only it couldv used was some lawnCare service (hint hint parks an recreations where you at👀).. but other than that nice outing. …
Ronika Payton

Scott F Wilson
Love seeing shows at the amphitheater, it's perfect.
Nicki O
This park is so beautiful 💓 I took my dog right before sunset and let him run around a little bit. He loved it and so did I! 😁 …
Tracye Switzer
We visited Mon. nite for the free movie. Was very hot & humid which may have been the reason for the low attendance. The movie had great sound. Viewing was ok before the sun went down. It was grand after dusk. I bought popcorn @ the concessions. It had a decent flavor but was so stale the texture was that of styrofoam packing popcorn. They could do better opening a giant bag from the store, placing under a heat lamp, & serving that. Was not worth $3. Was not worth anything. Will not buy it again unless is fresh popped. Will return for free movies.
Aliza Brown
Small outer city park. The view from the new outlook is wonderful. Great place to go hiking when you don’t have a lot of time. There’s always something going on at the park.
Kendra Zumhingst
Absolutely incredible Jackolantern Spectacular!
Bill Zoeller
I Love Iroquois Amphitheatre and Iroquois Park. I grew up in this park as a kid and appreciate going back every chance I get. Most recently saw Kenny Wayne Shepherd and the infamous Buddy Guy. What a night, what a concert. 83 years young and Buddy Guy is still the man.
foodinyourfaceable
Nice park. Lots of trails, could be better marked or mapped for visitors. Even saw a fawn on the walk around the park.
Christopher Bean
Went for the Jack O' Lantern festival and had a great time.
Mike McGuire
Great park. Disc gold course, basketballs. Tennis, playground, hiking trails, running paths, a beautiful overlook at the top
Jaclyn Mersereau
Fabulous place to relax. Great views
Rodney Stewart
Threw way better this time it was a great day to out with a lot of fellow golfers
Donna Wells
I was at the park to visit with my son he has his 1979 Monte Carlo up there for the car show goin on this weekend.. If you're looking for something to do tomorrow you should go see all the old cars and good people they have a good time showing the different things they do to the cars and you would have a good time just gettin out and getting some fresh air seein the cars and who knows how many more beautiful weekends were gonna have like this.. See ya up there.
Jinx starefire
theres something for everyone- my favorite is the view from the overlook!
James Coates (Jim bo.)
Very beautiful Park very large part has a crate look out at the top of the hill you can see Over Louisville very awesome site and very very shady park has lots of shade are very many trees and lots of shade so it stays kind of cool there
David Bruner
Went for the Christmas lights display and worth every cent! Hands down best drive thru light show experience ever. Only issue was genius that ignored signage to turn off headlights behind us. Eventually got the hint 🤣 …
Kellie Speedy Le Fevre
It is probably a very nice park. I went during their Jack-o-Lantern Spectacular and it was very crowded. It didn't feel like it was worth the multiple hour wait to get into the park.
Michael Pruitt
Great place to walk, paved roadways to walk on. Easy/intermediate trails all over the park. Plenty of wildlife to see. Nice look out points at the top of the hill, it's a little bit of a walk to get to but overall worth the view. Also spacious playground at the bottom of the hill along with tennis and basketball courts. Another smaller playground at the top of the hill.
Trevor Coffey
This park has a wonderful veiw as you ascend the path to the overveiw. This trip is around two miles from the base of the walk to the peak.
Dejalil
Loved this park growing up! Great playground, water park and basketball court. Oh and the amphitheater is awesome!
John Coffman
Awesome venue, great sound quality, comfortable seats, great location, thorough security.
Jess-ika French
Nice place to bring your family too or just to take a walk in the park.
Crystal Hardin
Loved the jack-o-lantern spectacular. So many different pumpkin faces and things to see
jesse broughton
Went to the light show event. Very n8ce displays.
Pat Leuthart
Nice trails ,I'd recommend having someone hike with you looks like a good place to get mugged
Earl Riley
Good and safe place to see a concert the security people's real nice the guys in the red shirt
Amy H
While the splash area can be crowded, we have never had a bad experience. The park is always clean and appropriate for little ones, too.
Jim Knight
It's a nice park, some of the surrounding area needs improvement.
The Paiks
This is a fun, reasonable course for a variety of level of disc golf players. There's a good mix of treed and open shots. There's mainly one disc risking hole, #6, which has a shorter tee pad off to the right. Leaves can present a bit of disc finding challenge in the fall or winter. This is noticeably easier than Charlie Vettner DGC. Par is not an unreasonable goal for many.
Asha's JewelryBox
One of my favorite parks it's so beautiful the kids love it
Thomas Hudson
Great city park. Good hiking, and picnic areas. They've upgraded and repaired some facilities. If folks would stop tearing up things, this could stay a great place. Let's hope.
JayK W
Went to the Louisville Jack O'Lantern Spectacular and it truly was spectacular! Over 5000 carved pumpkins. You absolutely need advance tickets and the line is long but moves fast. I only had one gripe-a worker there screamed at the crowd for a couple of minutes because a few people had stopped to rest on straw bales about halfway through and she got pretty ugly about it.
The Real Cleveland Show
We go to this park at least 5 times a month. I love to walk around for exercise. A great place to let the kids run and explore. They also have a place to get wet. The park could be updated, the playground is sort of falling apart.
Chuck Grubbs
Nice kid activities including waterfalls A+
michael c
Much more cleaned up in every way than it used to be when I was a kid.
And safer to walk around.
The vibe from the Iroquois that you can still feel in between the trees on the path or through is trails, is a special one.
I need to start going to Cherokee again but always end up back at Iroquois.
William Pickard
Wonderful park. Its my childrens favorite. Its clean and well kept.
Jessica Rheaume
I've been here several times for different events. My favorite event is the jack-o-lantern spectacular. It's an amazing experience and I encourage anyone who hasn't been to check it out!
Regina Norris
Nice park. We a very nice amphittheater!
Mike McDonald
Great venue.
Kourtney E
Went for my first time with a friend and we had a blast working with our horses. I can't wait to go back.
Sneeky Pete
I recently visited the wonderland in the woods exhibit and I must say that it was nicely done ✔ or it was "LIT" as the kids say. (Pun intended). Alot of work went into it. The kids loved it, big and little. I even caught myself self being wowed a time or two. Do yourself a favor and save your money by skipping the "underground display." I've been to both. Thisn is blowin thatn out the water! NO CAP. 🧢
Naturally Mixed (lifeisaphoto)
Disc golf, playground a lot of stuff to do at this park. You have walking trails. You can horseback ride they have shows for every season. Just an overall family adventure.
Descent into Madness: A Necromance
great place to go walking. plenty of shade and great trails to walk.. loved the overlook.. it has an awesome view of the city.
Faith Fox
Nice park. They have some trails and a lot of places to relax. I have been here a few times to have a picnic. My dog loves the trail I have taken him on, and everyone I've come into contact with here is very friendly. The only reason I have it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it could use some serious landscaping. The trail isn't overgrown but there is a lot of fallen trees to the side. There could be some effort into making it nicer, but all in all a nice place!
Brian Bridgers
Except for the fact that it's in the south end of Louisville, this is one of Louisville's great parks Hudson right up there with Cherokee / Seneca parks. Olmstead himself built a great parks system a city that- when it was designed- was one of the top 10 largest cities in the country. Now in a medium-sized Midwestern city, still a great attraction!
Dana Clenney
Seen the Jack O'Lantern spectacular. We loved it!!
john orndorff
Park kept up well considering restrooms lived in by homeless people who do not give a care one about how they leave them . I commend the city for what they do to keep this park clean and. Trails accessible to all who use it. The disc golf area well maintained as well
B-Quiet Media (BQuiet Media)
Great place to walk. But if you want some peace, go early in the day before all the kidos get there.
Michael DeLuca
Jack o lantern festival was amazing and well organized. Pic could be better but was driving
Tristan “Master Calamity” Fox
This is a great Park especially for kids it features the water park, swings, and a playground just for small ones. It's also got basketball courts good roads if you like to run and a hilltop that you can go all the way up to a lookout when open
Rory J
Nice hilly 3.4 run loop with some trails to the side. A lot of local races and group runs start in the area. Fun looking disc golf course that I'll have to check out.
Jennifer Arthur
I have been wanting to come down to the park to attend the Louisville Pumpkin Spectacular for many years, but with the wait times & crowds we never went. This year with the drive thru it was the perfect time to go. What. Neat thing to see!!! Pumpkins everywhere with the most amazing things put on them. We will definitely be back for the winter/Christmas event that starts the end of November.
Shireen Albalooshi
Its always so cool to be out there in this park. Fall at it's peak, the leaves are about to leave. The trees are soon going to freeze with all the morning breeze☺️😅✌️See that's what happens when you be in the park you start poetry😂 Hahaha! …
Bazilisk Gavialis
Relaxing and enjoying a picnic in the shade is beautiful here.
Chris Flaherty
Nice Christmas drive through, similar in some ways to the Louisville Zoo's Lights Under Louisville with some additional types of things to see, like gingerbread men and houses and stained glass windows of popular Christmas characters.
Kim Bassett
This was the Jack o Lantern walk in Louisville. It always surprises us with new sculptures on the pumpkins and the many, many crazy faces they have cut out. Each year is a new theme. It is worth the drive to see this!
Aaron Barnes
Took my family for a hike. It was decent. Nice trail but there was trash strewn throughout. We have a 3-year old so it was a bit annoying to tell her to avoid the litter in the forest. I don’t know what the park could do but it seemed to me like that was a maintenance issue that may have been overlooked thanks to the pandemic
Frankie Tipton
We had a family get together and cooked out. It was really nice!!
Larry Ellis
Lookout was awesome, especially taking someone that has never been.
Chris Stephens
Although its changed a lot since I was a kid. I've been going to the top of iroquois park since the late 80's. The view used to be a lot better due to the trees being smaller, however it's still amazing. Great place to take the family. Me and my son used to go a lot now I take my daughter often. It's a must visit.
Angie Creepy
It was real cool great pumkins easy drive
Alton Worley Jr
Great park and very nice amphitheater
Theresa Lanter
I loved the trail seclusion it's serene and very enjoyable. Giving me time to relish in the beautiful pleasures of the trees and nature that lives in the forest....a perfect pit stop to take a moment to refocus and slow the scene of the city
..thanks cuz the pleasure was def all mine .
Chad Murphy
One of the best parks in Louisville(as in literally in the city) shady characters are know to hang around from time to time. Contains a very NICE Amphitheater. Also has major holiday events and various activities threw the summer months. Has an overlook point where the majority of the city can be seen panaromic if you in hunt of a photo opp.
Patricia Price
I really enjoy walking through the park. I walk alone, but I don't feel unsafe. Of course, I walk while it's daylight.
Gayle Mayberry (gr8hnd)
We drove through Iroquois Park in mid-November 2019 and it was just beautiful. The leaves had turned brown but that created a rich hue that was absolutely gorgeous. I had not been there in years. The lookout was closed but we weren’t disappointed. The walkers and drivers were all respectful and conscious of safety. A lovely drive.
AL
Halloween Spectacular is an excellent event to get out and enjoy an festival family night. There's plenty of free lighted parking assisted with plenty of parking attendants. Several excellent staff members and volunteers to assist you with any of your needs. The park is provided with high visibility of security and police officers. Great event.
Travis Liedtke
We went to the pumpkin thing last night and it was BEAUTIFUL!! Major props to the teams and teams of people who spent their time putting all of this together! Very cool designs, (clowns were a bit scary but AWESOME details) My favourite part was the dinosaurs amd then the GIANT pumpkins near the end. Very cool experience! Waited for an hoursh and it took us about 15 minutes to get through. Cool stuff!
Sidney Waddell
We always enjoy this park it's padded in areas and has water sprinklers. The bathroom is conveniently located but definitely needed a deep clean
Mike Watson
Cool park. Cool stuff going on year round and a good place to take a hike, bike ride, throw football, pass a frisbee, picnic etc. Keep an eye for the residential folks in the woods lol. They can be a bit interesting.
Diana Brown
The scenery was beautiful but they had people in golf carts moving you along.... one man told us we couldn't stop and take pictures!!
We had waited in line almost 3 hours to....o go thru plus paying the fee.... so we took pictures!!
He was not nice at all!
Sylvia Zehnder
Went to Jack-o'-lantern Spectacular 2021! It was very creative and fun to walk through! Wish it wasn't raining when we went but it was still a good time!
Tamika Griffin (Real Life With Meaka)
I always love a good clean park for the kiddos to play in and this park delivers. There is a big play section for smaller children and a larger section for the older kiddos. There is even a splash pad area and basketball. If you walk the trails you will surly get your workout in and there is little play areas throughout with some spots for shade and barbecue pits. Love this park.
Stephanie Rogge
I was at Iroquois Park in October for the pumpkin trail which it's self is something you can't miss but the park is lovely and huge so a nice hide away right outside the city. It's only down fall is parking not getting in but getting out it took a solid 10 minutes of driving in circles in the grass there are no signs or people letting you know a little stressing but you'll figure it out eventually.
Lisa Massey
Was here for the jack o lantern festival. They seem to have the crowds down to a science for the event. Food & beverages available in the line, which is incredibly long, & they have no issues with you having your own beverage. Restrooms were clean. I can't speak to more of the actual park, but based on what I did experience leads me to believe the rest is quite nice.
Charles V Rademaker Jr.
I love this park. Great trails for hiking or horseback riding and bike/running trails and lanes. When you go to the top, there are great views in all directions. Lots of wildlife and a nice playground with a splash pad and a fenced in area for little kids. Iroquois Ampitheater has a lot great shows when the weather is nice.
Ann Loving-Lathery
If you want to learn about trees and various plants this is the place to go. My favorites are the pawpaw trees and sassafras tree . Sassafras root was the original ingredient in root beer.
Amy B
Our first visit to this lovely park. Came all the way from Knoxville to attend the Jack O Lantern Spectacular. So impressed with the artistry. We hope to return next year and be able to walk and admire the carvings.
Christopher “Fathead” Lee
I went for the Christmas Drive Through Light Display. It wasnt bad but it was all white lights in each display. Which was fine for older kids but my younger daughter seemed kinda bored after the second display had same lights. But my wife and I enjoyed it!
James Smith
Always a beautiful park for the family..
Erika Reed
We went to the JackOLantern Spectacular. It was a feast for the eyes and absolutely blew our minds. Well worth the 2 hour wait in line. They kept it safe by doing a car tour this year and it was fantastic. Beautifully done.
PL K
This is one of the most beautiful parks in Louisville. Huge park, lots of places to walk and still some trails marked through the wooded areas. Half of the 3+ mile road around the bottom of the park is closed to cars, the perfect walking place when you have kids or animals in tow that always seem to like to play in traffic. Tennis courts & playground. Road to the top is only open on weekends and has a beautiful overlook of the city. There's a horse barn on the back side of the park & marked horse trails.
Dennis Horn
One of Louisville's finest parks and an Olmsted masterpiece! I have very fond memories of playing here as child in the Iroquois/Kenwood Hill area. Love the new lookout at top and hope they will soon develop and maintain hiking trails throughout the 700+ acres of hardwood forest.
Christine mestrovich
Serene area in the middle of a city. Tough hills around the loop for runners or walkers which is a plus with us. The look out is well worth the hike. The playground and splash pad are great entertainment for kids. Basketball and tennis courts available for use at anytime.
Sanjay Gangal
The winter woods spectacular was pretty good. The line was incredibly long and I always wonder if these things are worth almost $40. I wish you got to go through slower to see everything, but they want to get more cars thru.
Michael French
Clean and well laid out park. Big too!
MultiBeast301
Grew up going to this park. Beautiful and always fun to go to. The park itself is great for children and the hiking trails are a blast to go through. The lookout at the summit is the most rewarding finish to a hike ever
Aaron Kiefer
The park is pretty in many areas including the hike to the overlook. However, the playground area is pretty dirty and unkept. It's fun to bring your kids a couple days here during the summer but I would advise to not bring them too often.
Bailey Jones
Go to Iroquois Park is so Awesome Place to go
Jane Ellis
Great park for outdoor morning workouts but the water park can get over crowded with kids later in the afternoon. The overlook and wild life are beautiful, a must see if you visit! Restrooms at the park are in need of updates and not very clean...be sure to use the ladies room before hand!
Aaron Evers
Great place to hike, bike, run, and to enjoy nature. Paved and unpaved trails, play grounds, and a golf course. There is also a wonderful amphitheater and each October they hold the annual pumpkin walk which I highly recommend attending it is quite impressive.
Chloe Turner
We Drove through to park and parked near the look out point. From the parking area to the look out point the park is well maintained. Cons: people litter. Maybe more trash cans are needed. Nice benches en route to the look out. The look out point is a descent walk. It was well worth it as it views beautiful Louisville. A great place to take pictures.
Bruce H
I live in the neighborhood. I like the hills. If you have never driven up to the lookout you should. Beautiful view of downtown. they have a golf course that is challenging on some holes. The auditorium has great shows and then there is the great pumpkin display before Halloween.
Tina Nyberg
Big park great for hiking bike riding an jogging
Maria Malone
Went here early for the jack o lantern spectacular. We bought our tickets early, so we decided to explore the park. I didn't realize how big this place is! It's in a busy area of town, but feels like am escape once you're in the park. Lots of area to jog, walk or bike around. We saw some play grounds as well.
Tari Morales
This park is beautiful, clean and offers paths everyone! My favorite one is the one that goes up to the North Outlook!
Andrew Biskis
I love this park! My favorite park for running hands-down for the 3.2 mile loop, or the steep hill to the top of you want to challenge yourself. Also they have lots of free events here and a good playground/basketball court/tennis court area.
James Lamkin
Great place to visit! For all to enjoy! Have really increased the enjoyment of a public place! Kids and Adults to enjoy from jogging to children laughing what more could you ask for from a park! Go ahead make the visit! Don't forget your tennis racket, frisbie, basketball, bring a picnic basket! Plenty of shade and privacy!
Kary Tucker
The Jack o Lantern Spectacular was AMAZING! This is a must see at least once. We went on a Thursday arrived at 7pm, and had an hour and 15 minute wait to get it. The attraction itself lasts about 30 minutes. We felt it was worth the wait.
J Callan (Joey C)
What a beautiful park. Took the full loop of the horse trail (being careful to watch for horses & riders) and saw plenty of scenery and wildlife!
Hikers and trail-runners: remember the horses have the right-of-way on the most outer trail!
Plenty of other trails and paths to take, too! Nice views from the summit. Check out the well-maintained runners' leaderboard at the park entrance off New Cut!
John Ciaramitaro
Love the park! The trails are steep but amazing for incline running and biking. If you want a far out view of the city check it out!
Amy Leffew
Beautiful area. Great for walkers, runners and cyclists alike...Super family friendly...All while being able to host plays, concerts etc. Home of the Halloween lovers Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, where thousands of intricately carved pumpkins light your way through the park...There may be a bit of a wait for your turn, but reat assured...It will be worth it!
Kelsie Hall
We love Iroquois park, they have great paths and trails for walking, running, or riding a bike, and a few playgrounds to explore. We also enjoy the seasonal events they host each year.
Brad Wunderlich
Beautiful, peaceful green space.
d auter khoshnood
Trying to get in shape...just walk this park and you will get there....lovely scenery...
Shannon Moore
The pumpkin walk was really cool to look at. If you've never been you should go. Parking is adequate and you can buy food and snacks and beer or hard liqour. The price was reasonable and I'd go again. The amphitheatre was nice and spacious too.
Janet Stewart
We went to the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular. It was beyond amazing! Well worth every penny and time in line. If we didn't have to wait in the line again, we wanted to go through it again. Don't miss it!!!
Terri B
Drove through the Winter Woods Spectacular and it was amazing!! This is definitely a must see holiday event for the family in this time of social distancing. Much better than the other drive-thru light display.
Mary Jo Arendt
Beautiful park and ampitheatre. Went to a free concert and was so impressed with the venue. The restrooms were very clean and large enough to accommodate many people at once. Cannot believe I have lived in this area all my life and am just now visiting this wonderful place.
Jamie Kidwell
The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 was because of the careless people leaving trash after they leave at night. I had never seen a place that looked so bad. The watermark is phenomenal, the playgrounds are decent for kids of all ages, and the water fountain works. It's a great place to go as long as you don't mind picking up trash so your kid doesn't step on it.
Often Wrong
Pretty nice park for just about everyone. Good disc gold course, nice playground, good trails, and the lookout is really killer if you're willing to walk up it
Jeff Gootee
A pretty nice park. Great for small kids in the summer time due to playground and water park area. Also a good place to train when it comes to running. The hills provide a nice challenge for moderate to experienced runners.
Dillon Marshall
The actual venue (amphitheater) is awesome. The acoustics along with the sound crew and the seating are top notch. The parking for bigger shows isn't that great. Plan on walking a mile or two. We did so in the rain. However I must say, Chris Thile and company made it worthwhile. Very excellent show. As far as the park in general, not a bad place to walk the dog, or hike around, but I wouldn't suggest going it alone.
Sonya Elli
Awesome views and great trails for advanced hikers and non.. Has a nice basketball court and play ground area and even music and arts amphitheatre... just be ware of ticks and you aren't on the best side of town! Bring your pup for protection or if your a responsible gun owner bring that n some bullets. Cause there is some wannabe gangsters over there ;)
Alexander Kotukhov
Amazing view to part of Downtown Louisville from the Overlook terrace at Iroquois Park!
Ben Peacock
Beautiful place and great car show
gohstr_games
I had an amazing night here. I finally got to see two of my favourite bands of all time. I had a blast! Very clean and organized. Take away the bands, and it's not the greatest environment though. Aggressive event staff, aggressive police and overpriced concessions. I had to pay $3 for a bottle of water, and the nicest staff I talked to all night were the EMTs. Everyone else that wasn't attending the concert was less than desirable.
I'll come back if anyone else that I want to see play is there, but I won't be looking forward to the experience with those that work there. I work in customer service. It's not hard to not be a jerk, even if you're having a bad day.
Tisa Whitaker
Awesome time at free movie night "Rocky Horror Picture Show"
Leneda Kruzel
We always enjoy our walks and picnic's at the park
Jessica Gaines
There's so much more to this park than can be seen by car. Much of the park is closed go vehicular traffic. The road to the top of the park (which is accessible by vehicle) which has a lovely walkable prairie and a beautiful newly constructed overlook of the city and sounding countryside, is open Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Tavish Goodyear
The amphitheater was nice, the staff friendly and helpful. The Jack O'lantern Spectacular was pretty neat as well. Parking was well executed.
Cindy Garau
Went tonight 10/9 w friends to 🎃 night which is thru October. It was amazing!!! Check website for details. Ticket price is per car, no walk thru this year. Long wait to actually enter, 2 hr but so worth it! About 30 minute drive thru, hundreds of carved pumkins, themed sections was so fun!! A couple of stops where port'apotties avail. Go early for line wait but best if enter after might fall. Great time for family entertainment!!
Brenda C.
I visit Iroquois Park with my granddaughters. They love the playground and just walking around. It is a beautiful park and amazingly beautiful!
Brian Perkins
This place is fantastic! It is large, beautiful and multifunctional. This place was designed to meet many needs from small gatherings to larger events. I love it!
Marija Watson
Nice easy hike and lots of open areas for soccer
Kathy Lane
The Pumpkin Spectacular is amazing. It is worth every dollar. I went with friends who havw been once this year. They said it was better the second time. What a show! Well done and the money goes to a nonprofit organization.
Bill Gassman
One of the best venues to see a live show in Louisville. We have seen 6-8 concerts there, and have never been disappointed. Not really a bad seat in the whole place. Good plays here also.
PLUS, they show free movies!
This is really a hidden gem in our fine city.
Do yourself a favor and find something to see at this great Amphitheatre
Arielle Channels
This place is great for walks and hanging out with friends. Found a four leaf clover :)
Joseph DeTrana
A good place to bring the whole family. It's a decent sized park, for being in the middle of the city. It incorporates Iroquois hill, which is very large. It offers great views of the city, and many trails. There is also a small water park that consists mainly of fountains for the kids to cool off. There is plenty of space for kids' birthday parties, cookouts, etc. Also Iroquois amphitheatre, usually host to plays, concerts, book readings, free movies- (usually family oriented), etc. The list of events can usually be found in the paper or online.
Christina Swimm
The park is great. Ampathearter is beautiful and I enjoy shows there.
However staff at the shows are rude especially one older guy who works the ticket hate tables. They are also very aggressive and I watched one put there arm against and old mans neck shoving him into a brick wall. And was uncalled for during the blues concert. I should have took a picture of the staff member but wasn't thinking of it at the time.
Erica Johnson
Great adventure for the family.
Jake Allgeier
Great park with nice views if Louisville. You feel like you're escaping from the city without ever leaving. But beware there can be sketchy people from time to time. I love to climb the hill at times when cars aren't allowed
Stephen Gillon
It has some cool features in a crappy part of town. There is a beautiful amphitheater that you can go see homeless people sleeping in. If that doesn't grab you then you can play disc golf and see trash cans that haven't been emptied in what looks like months. The metro parks department really hit a home run with this one.
Michelle Baker (Michelle)
Went to the Great Pumpkin Light display and it was AMAZING! The only reason I took away a star is because it was so crowded you couldn't even see a lot of them when pepoole just stopped to look and take pictures they just stayed there for a while and you had to wait for them to move and it caused chaos in a sense. You should definitely make sure you go on a week day starting about a week after it starts to avoid the crowd!
Ben Vest
This is where me and the woman of my dreams got married. On the very top of the hill, at the lookout. It was a wonderful day. The weather and the view were absolutely amazing that day. Wish I could relive it
Country Boy
Amazing place. Pictures cant describe this place its a must see to appreciate place.
Go early be cause they get really crowded, one of the guys driving the golf carts to bring people in that park a long ways out told us on a light day which thats what it was when we went yesterday October 14, 2029 that they will have over 7000 people. He said a heavy day is much more. Kids 12 and under are 10 dollars each and adults 13 and older are 14 dollars each. You got to buy tickets which you can do on line or at the park, there was no wait to buy our tickets there but after you get your tickets then you have to wait in a long line to get in. The park gets really crowded so they only let so many people go in at one time because its a sidewalk that you have to walk through the park to see all the pumpkins. They dont allow no flash on camera's you must stay on the sidewalk and theres absolutely no touching any pumkins. This is a must see park. We lived it, it is amazing. When you come into the park to park your vehichle there will be people directing you where to go to park. They shut down the back road out of the park and you actually park diagonally in one lane and walk back into the park if you get lucky and are the farthest out to park you might catch a ride in on a golf cart. We only caught a ride back to our vehicle when we were leaving and we parked a ways out. We arrived at the park at 8:45pm and we got out of there at 11:40pm.
Go see this amazing place and have fun.
I would be there at 6:30 and you will have a blast.
If my review helps you in any way can you PLEASE leave me a thumbs up like on my review. Thank you.
Damon L. Muncy
Beautiful trails and scenery. Great amphitheater and the park has many fun events throughout the year!
BRANDON PURCELL
Excellent park. Needs some public restrooms though. Kinda hard to spend the day there when you can’t use the bathroom
Heather Maxine Williams
This should be obvious but don't go there at night. I went to see the meteor shower and a car of young people showed up, wandered off, and withing ten minutes I started hearing gunshots not far away and got out of there fast.
Otherwise a great park, just stay away at night. "Closes at 10" should be "closes at sundown".
Mike Rothfuss
Hidden gem. Mixed race, mixed income, mixed nationality, mixed religions frequent the park and that's what I like. Has a 5k loop around the bottom which is great for running. And it's a great place to see a concert. What is not to like?
Jim Ligon
Great place to hike and was recently updated at the overlook. I visited the park recently with my daughter and son-in-law for the Christmas lights with thousands of lights on both sides of the road ($26/car) . Take your children.
Jonathan Hiler
Just wonderful. It's worth the walk or drive to the top for that amazing view. Walk through the woods and recharge your soul. The restroom facilities are not bad, and there's enough of them that you won't have to wait.
Jamie Thompson
We were there for the pumpkin spectacular. The carvings were amazing and beautiful, and most of the volunteers were great. The place was too packed, it was hard to get through. They let too many people in at a time and it lowered the experience.
Kristiyan Georgiev
Takes about 20min and it's really good, even has a syncronized radio with the lights.
Christine Futch
The Jack o Lantern Spectacular is one of our favorite things tovdo each year, and becoming a family tradition. The event is well managed.
Brittany Smith
My daughter loved running away from me here. It would be nice if it were a little more closed in with fencing. The water area wasn't working properly. You had to hit the start button very hard.
K P
The park was green, vast, full of life, a place you could take your kids, and had multiple trails to hike and walk around. If you are also a Pokemon Go player, it's a great place to explore. Gorgeous...
Edward Nelson
Too bad they don't have mountain biking trails... perfect terrain.
Eric Reed
Went to see a class mate perform. Leaving the parking lot was a pain. Lots of traffic.
Toni Gray
Great fun. Was better than ecpected. Some very detailed art carved pumpkins.
mike bee
Decent venue with a lineup of good concerts each year.
Brent Chitwood
My favorite park. The look out is where i proposed to my wife, so it will always be a special place to me. The views of Churchill Downs and Downtown are worth the scenic drive to the top. There is a bit of a walk to the "look out" from parking area, but it is paved with resting benches and shade along the way.
Bellevue Brad
Fabulous as ALWAYS, hiking, dog walking, frisbee golf, there are lots to do, see and fun to be had
Seth Humston
Iroquois Park is at the heart of Louisville. You can find many things to do from their super fun kids play park and water area, to the wide hilly golf course. The sights are very memorable if you get to go to the overlook
Kacy Randall
We had a great time at this park. The playground is great for both little and bigger kids and has a splashpad. There was lots of shade, too. We will definitely be back.
Jeff C
It's really big. It has a golf course, a disc golf course, a big playground ,with a little water attraction. It has a few other playgrounds. It has an amphitheater. It has 2 cool lookouts at the top of the park, one where you can see downtown and a lot of the in between area.
Crystal Mckeehan
We attended the jack o lattern spectacular this year at Iroquois park and it was truly amazing! Beautiful park, lots of parking, easy access. My 5 year old loved the play ground structures.
Ginny Hampton
Beautiful day today to get out and enjoy one of our metro parks. The park has wonderful well maintain trail. Good for walking, hiking , bicycling and horseback riding
Hearth Wisdom Store
What a fun experience! So much creativity and work on the Pumpkin Walk.
Robert Williams
Beautiful park. Biking, hiking, running and walking.
Cathy Sandol
Disk golf frisbee golf but they use heaven rubber disks really nice people no Po Po people mind there own business and polite
Kelly Ryan
It's never to crowded, I can walk my little dog without worrying about running into any problems and the trails are easy, fun and peaceful.I visit at least 5days a week.
Sarah Kazi
Nearest park close to my address and plenty of places to play and do other fun things if not crowded. Love it and my kids.
Holli Ross
Love the events. Especially Pumpkin Walk. If you've not been to it? Gotta go! Beautiful artwork on pumpkins. Like a faery land. Lit up eerily and sound effects. Awesome!!
Sam DuPlessis
Tandem ride to the top on perfect summer day
Lynn R
Wish this gem was COMPLETELY opened to the ENTIRE public like it was in the old days when we could drive to the top. Now that my wife and I are disabled, and the front road closed, we can't even enjoy a ride all the way around the bottom. So sad.
R Isaac
I love disc golf, this park's course is clean and gets more of a plain as u go, if u prefer more, in distance ranges. I'd say it's, above mediocre! 😎🤙 …
Robin Moore
A true sanctuary in the middle of the south end of Louisville. A wonderful place to run walk or bike. An expansive and large park with an amazing and recently updated over look area that overlooks the city. The amphitheater also host amazing show and talent as well.
Brittney Winborn
I cave in wild caves and decided to take my sister here on a guided tour to try and share the experience with her. We both enjoyed it and the park rangers were very informative. Lots of great cave puns were included!

Nice park in general, good for hiking, frisbee, horseshoe, picnics, nice playground/splash area. Good venue for live music and activities-free and paid. Always packed in warmer weather. Be forewarned, no matter how much police presence there is-which there always is in the summer mos-there's always a plethora of potheads and open smoking of weed by the kid's playground area and along the road way there...obnoxiously and ridiculously so... smh. It just gets ignored by the police. This would be the reason of our avoidance at times for that particular spot. The overlook at the top is great and offers additional areas to picnic, swing, take beautiful pics, etc!
Melani Babi
A great park, terrific tree cover and a skyline view if you get up to the overlook (drive or hike).
hubert alsman
One of the best city parks. I just wish more people could use the top of the park. And a police presents at the top. Maybe a sub station like Central Park could be set up in the Lodge facility located at the top. Or a mobile trailer.
A Dylan
Although not in the greatest area, there are a lot of people who visit. I haven't come across any trouble. Most people seem friendly and its a nice place to walk your dogs.
James Bridge
Great park for a walk or a hike, the paved walking portion is about a 3-1/2 mile walk, and there are several hiking trails of varying degrees of difficulty, from a gentle hike up to getting a serious workout in.
teresa
Nice park that has an amphitheater which hosts different plays and concerts in the summer. It's a family oriented park where you can host family reunions or birthdays. It also has walking trails. I love exercising there.
Zoom
I rated Iroquois Park a four-star because Iroquois park is in a sketchy part of town where there are shootings and stabbings going on but if you are with a group of people and you have something to protect yourself you should be fine and if you do get a chance to go I recommend you do because if you get to the top of the hill you can see an amazing view of all of Louisville. So yeah to wrap it all up I highly recommend this place. But like I said please come with a group of people or something to protect yourself.

Great little destination for a turnaround if riding bike from downtown. Respite from traffic. Road within park is a little bumpy. Light traffic. Dedicated trails for pedestrians but many on road running. Couple little hills for a good work out. Road (1020/southern Pkwy) from downtown is a great newly paved road to get there if staying at hotel downtown.
Nick Krumwiede
We spent two and a half hours in line for the jack-o-lantern spectacular and the park was absolutely gorgeous! Sans these two weirdos giving a Weezer karaoke concert, of course....
HeatherLynn Hankins
The jack o'lantern extravaganza was amazing. We had such a good time There were so many pumpkins! It was set up so beautifully, the lines were quick, & the workers were friendly. Great experience!
Zeeska Sin
Very large park. Wonderful water playground. Bathrooms are usually gross. Lots of walking and hiking paths. Hilltop is a beautiful place to meditate and look over downtown.
Lisa W
Have always loved this park. Always events to attend or you could just go and walk the park and ground to nature which is so important to do for mental and physical health. Hug a tree, they love it!
Jorge
Wonderful place to enjoy the nature and to exercise.
John Douglas
A Very Beautiful Park. Maybe the only Park in Louisville that is Family Friendly in my opinion.
Ron Fields Jr
Fantastic place. Saw a concert at the amphitheater. Will go back.

This is like the best place ever to take your kids in the summer if you live in the south because there's a water park and lots of walking today so they can wear themselves out. Also if you have pets and taking your dog to the lookout if you want to wear her out... works for mine LOL! She goes home and goes to bed right with the kiddos...
Rosie Gibbons
Pumpkin Spectacular! 5000 decorated pumpkins! Large food court too. We had a wonderful cool evening. What a great way to start our trip!

A very interesting Park plus it's quite big and beautiful and allot of events take place there
Ann Marie Werner
Lovely park for a stroll, hike, bike, or picnic lunch. Beautifully wild and unmanicured in many areas. Nice playground and fountains for kids. Don't miss the jackolantern spectacular for halloween!

This is a large city park with plenty to do for everyone. There is a Frisbee golf course, tennis courts, basketball courts, an excellent playground & spray-ground, trails and road for walking, biking, running. This park certainly has some of the highest vistas in the city. A winding road meanders in seclusion all the way to the top. This is an old park and I often imagine how many visitors have walked this road. I love being able to catch views of the city from high above (views much better in the winter when the trees are bare). And let me tell you... there are some wide open spaces up on top that I swear could be in a Country Time Lemonade television commercial! Down at the bottom, the recently opened spray-ground is fantastic. It is a great place to bring the kids any time of the year (no water in the winter, of course) and let them go wild. It is a well designed area that uses colors and building materials to suit the outdoors (kudos to the designers!). Of all the parks in the city, this is one of my favs for biking. Amazingly, the ride to the top is not that difficult - it's a fairly low grade most of the way. It's certainly a great ride down. Not only does the road at the top make a complete loop, but there is a bottom loop as well. This bottom loop has lots of curse and hills and is actually the more difficult of the two. Compared to its sister parks in Louisville, while having many areas to hang with the crowds, this park has more secluded areas if you want to get away from the crowded city and feel like you're in the middle of nowhere (which can be a nice sometimes). The Sunnyhill Pavilion is a great shelter for picnics. It was recently refurbished by volunteers from a local school. Excellent job! In the end... just a great park... it's everything you could want in a city park.
Marvetta McDougall
This park is beautiful and clean. We went there to go walking and they have plenty of places to walk. People keep their distance.
Esmeralda Dávila
Its a place for the whole family. Where you can have cookouts and celebrate your birthday with a picnic. A place for kids to play all ages and a place to exercise and do sports and so much more that you would need to go to discover.
Jack Daniels Herald
From pumpkins in The fall, lights and music all holiday season, and not to mention the v>ew you have to at least see once in your lifetime to know the experience yourself. There is plenty to experience as well as explore.
jd e
walk to the top.of the park to enjoy the scenery overlooking the our beautiful Southside of Louisville and if you walk further you can see even more Beauty and our lovely County in state if you're from around this area it truly brings back memories of younger days,of teenage Love

We love Iroquois park! Nice big playgrounds, great for walking and get togethers. Nice place to go all seasons.

We've been going to this park for years & they continue to improve it. There's plenty of things to do. Basketball, tennis, frisbee golf or just take a nice quiet walk to the top of the park.
wendy marie
Came here for pumpkin spectacular. It's always a hit with my son. I love it. Definitely something to check out around Halloween. A little pricey but worth it.
Mary Louise Reaedon
Beautiful place to walk very dog friendly, people are great here
Max cisneros
It’s a great place to go for a run or just a quick walk
Aaron Curtsinger
The family and I went to see the drive thru Christmas lights. The kids had a great time and enjoyed the lights and music.

I love this park! Used to be my home away from home as a child. Doesn't suffer from the same issues as Wyandotte as far as the riff-raff. My only complaint is that the top of the park has been let go for many years. The field I used to fly kites in as a child, which always had great wind, has been completely forsaken and is now totally overgrown with very tall grass which is home to a great many snakes. The tennis courts up there have also completely dilapidated and have now had their surrounding fence and nets completely removed, and has been converted to an ad hoc dumping ground for yard waste.
The southern lookout and the hiking trail leading thereto have also been let go. The trail is entirely gone, and for many years the trees were so overgrown that one could hardly admire the view of the city. It appears however, that they are taking much needed steps to completely rebuild it, and the trees have been topped so you can once again take in the beautiful view. I recommend going up there on a sunny day when clouds are in the sky, so that when you look out upon the trees, you can really appreciate the way the sunlight plays off of their leaves, highlighting them in the bright sunlight, and dulling them in the shade of the clouds. You can watch the shadows of the clouds pass over the forest, and it is truly beautiful, and always makes me think of the great oil painter's landscapes. It is especially beautiful in the Spring and Fall, but Winter, too, offers its own unique beauty, and is a great time to hike through the woods off-trail, as you will be unhindered by the thorny vines that are so common.
I also highly recommend going up there to see the sun rise. This is definitely something which your life will be incomplete without seeing for yourself. There is also another perk to going up there so early; the deer. I remember one time in particular that I was taking my morning run around 6:00 AM to the top of the park, which I always do through the woods and often off-trail, and when I got to the road by the southern lookout, I found myself surrounded by four beautiful deer, two adult females and two younger dears of varying ages, which I assume from their small and smaller statures. I'll admit I was a bit frightened in their presence, especially when one hissed loudly at me, which is not a sound I even knew they could make, but I calmly continued walking and they seemed fairly unperturbed by my presence, and eventually took off into the woods. I also saw three wild turkeys the same morning. Yes, I said turkeys, and no, I wasn't inebriated. Watching the sun set is an equal joy
and will also give you an opportunity to see some deer, although it is more difficult to spot them at night. I have run into large bucks and a pack of at least a dozen deer at night there.
But the basketball court up there has been better taken care of, and is well worth the trip to the top, as it is far superior to the court at the bottom. It has real rims, unlike the "prison rims"- the totally unforgiving double-rims - at the bottom, and is rarely crowded. The road to the top is open on Wednesdays and the weekends, and that is the best time to go to the courts if you are looking for some friendly competition. Other days it is usually all yours if you want to go there just to practice alone, or have a game with a group of friends.
The park also offers frisbee golf, regular golf, tennis, an archery field in the back, several gazebos equipped with grills, playgrounds at the top and bottom, water fountains, nice bathrooms and an amphitheater where many great musical acts perform, ranging from famous acts like Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie, to legendary bands like Neutral Milk Hotel who rarely tour. In the summer, there is always an ice cream truck or two near the playground on the weekends and often during the week in the afternoon.
It is a wonderful park, and I am very proud to have it in the neighborhood I grew up in at a time when so much else in this part of town seems to be going steadily down hill.
Maryann Amos
Attended free concert of Louisville Chorus paying tribute to America for the 4th of July. It was quite good & puts you in the mood to celebrate. The amphitheater is a great venue for any performance. It's set up with lights, sound, restrooms, & concessions. Pleasant atmosphere. Maybe bring a seat cushion.

My family had such a fun time at Iroquois Park for the Halloween pumpkin display. It was a unique and beautiful display-- I totally recommend!
Christi Kippersoff
Went to the Jacko lantern Spectacular, it was very Halloween festive! ! Wonderful display of art and pumpkin carvings. Music was also good throughout the park!
Tim Smith Jr
Incredible pumpkin displays!!
Charles Duke
Went to play disc golf. They've cleared a lot of the underbrush and moved some of the baskets. It's made some of the holes easier. But overall a good course.
SullenVex
Great park didn't spend enough time exploring everything available here. Will definitely be revisiting.
Asher Taylor-Dawson
One of the best spots in town for road cyclists to work on their climbing game, Iroquois Park also offers great off-road trails for hikers, equestrians, and mountain bike enthusiasts. Gravel racers will also find a nice stretch of gravel for training purposes.
William Keen
Awesome park to visit if you're trying to enjoy the outdoors. Quite a few trails, outdoor area for kids, basketball courts, and several trails that lead to remote areas. At the time of this posting they are working on updating the overlook area at the top of the park.
Stefanie Probst
Ive been going to this park since b4 i had kids 14yrs ago.. I love the scenary and my kids love the playground. They also have a car show there every yr free of chatge and the ampetheatre they built is maazing and has a lot of free things for families over the summer...
Candi Cash
It's for the little kids to get wet and play. They have a hood tome. The dogs seem to enjoy it as well. It's close to the house and I tale my 3 yr grand daughter and she enjoys it.
Joe
Part of Louisville's great Olmsted park system. We played a round on the venerable disc golf course. It could use some sprucing up due to heavy usage.
Dennis Wheat
Great Experience, never go on weekends though you can't enjoy the Spectacular views too crowded.
Scott obrien
Really cool disc golf course
SCATMAN1066
Great place to run the family. Very nice park. Ladies should not go alone, weirdos can be lurking at anytime. I would say the same for any park.
Colin Barge
Came here for the Lousiville Jack-o-Lantern festival and it was great. We waiting in line for about 2.5 hours before we got in. Definitely a one-time event. Don't need to see it again.
Sarah Copsey
Iroquois park is always awesome, except I really wish people would take their trash with them or throw it away!!
Devin Brianne
Louisville's largest urban park. I enjoy seeing shows at the ampitheater and walking the recreation loop. There is also a nice disc golf course. If you go to the top of the hill, there is a nice view of the city.
Cheryl “Elisa” Wade
We played disc golf here. It is a beautiful park. We could have stayed all day. We are from Georgia and had to head home. I give this location five stars!
Paul Hilton
Great place to exercise. The loop has plenty of hills and goes through the forest. The paved path is wide enough for cars but no cars are allowed.
Amanda Metcalf
Huge and beautiful park with lots to do. We always have a great time here. LOVE going to the top and seeing the city from the lookout! What a view 💖 …
Tammy McKinney
Perfect evening...great for the whole family. Jack O' Lantern Spectacular is our favorite event here. Year after year we return to see the works of art.
Sandra Prestigiacomo (Sandy)
I didn't see much. But it did seem to be popular. I live close by and I've heard good things about the entertainment that comes there
Astin Martin
Visited the pumpkin carving event in Oct 2019. They are amazing and we're considering making this a yearly event, it's worth the 6 hour drive and an excuse to get away from home.
Jonathan Lewter
Nice place for some a walk and some geocaching.
Andy Robinette
Two playgrounds and a splash pad accompanied by a several mile walking track with breathtaking views. One of Louisville's gems.

This is my favorite place on Earth! The best park in the city i actually posted pics of an old man in a Ford sedan he sits up here in his car and is always alone staring at the children here don't know how else to get this reported but please watch out for this man!
Paula Moore
The water spray and play ground is absolutely great!!!! Huge area for the kids to run and play. My 6 year old grandson had a blast!!!!
Scott Ballard
The park and playground are great in themselves. So is the golf course. Would be a fantastic park if the people going there cared about it, took care of it, and didn't litter everywhere.
Matthew Mitchell
Great venue. Lots of seating with good stage view all around. Takes a bit to get into so plan ahead.
Pretty Okay
Lovely, scenic park with lots to do-but people leave their trash everywhere 😢 …
Gayle Barksdale
So AWESOME!!! Definitely worth the time and money!!! Such talented artists!!!
Anthony Pierce
I LOVE Iroquois Park. It's one of the best places in the world to decompress. Walk to the top, and take in the view from one of the lookouts..people have been standing there loving the view since the 1800s.
Mojtaba Alhudibi
Great walk all the way to the top where you can see downtown Louisville.
Michael Jones
Beautiful large park with plenty of space to get away from people if you want and go on a hike to the top or through the woods. Also playgrounds, and lots of different activities (basketball courts, etc.)
Christine Lefler
Some people still don't know that Louisville, Kentucky has a lookout! Go to the top of the enormous foothill and bring binoculars to view all of Louisville all the way up to the Knobs in Indiana. A great place to picnic, hike, bike, walk, or run, or cruise.
Jessica Bledsoe
One of the best parks in Louisville and that's really saying something! We enjoy the disc golf course pretty regularly and the walking track is great.
Jennifer Allison
Went here as a child and loved going. Our family had a reunion and decided to gather at the park like we did many time many years ago. The place has gone wat down I makes me so mad. Trash all over the place and the restroom was disgusting. Just 💓 breaking. …
Lori S Lewis
Good old Iroquois park is like a old friend or part of my family, lived next to it all my life.i just wish they would let you drive to the top anytime day or night and open up the other half at the bottom part and make it a park again instead of closing half of it
Mike Spivey
Beautiful place alot people exercising thats a wonderful place to get out and breath fresh air walk around
Mike Reiter
We enjoyed Garrison Keillor's show tremendously. The venue is terrific, hardly a bad seat in the house. Great sound and lighting. Crowd loved the show...
Toni Halterman
Got there from central Indiana by 8:15 but had to get tickets for 10:15. The line was so long we went ahead and stood in it anyway (8:15 & 9:15 still ahead of us) plus they were running an hour behind schedule. But very much worth the wait!
wendall Goode
one of the oldest an original parks sounding Louisville. the trails were awesome. scenic overlooks are second to none. the facilities are modern and convenient. definitely the best Park in Louisville!
James Sidell
Beautiful park with a long road around it for biking, running, walking, roller blading, whatever. There are paths in the middle too if you want to get some elevation in.
Yogi Higgins
Lovely part of Olmstead Park system. Wish park patrolled and ticketed the cars parked in the grass and the walking /bike lane. There has been an uptick in littering too. Slobs sitting in the grass next to a garbage barrel chucking garbage out the window... Trifling
Andrew Shewmaker
The tunnel was very cool!
Allison Scott-Eagan
I love this park, it's so quiet and always a great walk.
Christopher Wheatley

Went amd looked at the Louisville street rodders car show. Lots of cool cars and it was nice being at a park where there was plenty of trees to shade the hot sun! Good times
Roger Watkins
Been going here all my life. It's great for everything. Hiking, biking, a lookout, amphitheater. Wonderful!.
Bill Monday
The variety of things to do here is amazing. Great disc golf course. Water area for the kiddos. Tons of bands and live performances also.
no one worth knowing
Decent park. There's lots to do there. Not always the nicest crowd in certain areas and can be easy to get lost, wouldn't go alone.
Sue Wagner
Feel so blessed to have a location like this close to home.
Emily DiNoto
We played this disc golf course and had a great time. Definitely good for all skill levels. Would definitely recommend.
Scott Legler
A great place to run, walk, play basketball, frisbee golf, cook out, hold family reunions. Had a great overlook for viewing the Louisville skyline.
Verponix
It is the best park in town! It's not boring at all, you can take your pets and take anyone you want for fun! Do barbecues and picnics!
Joseph Stacy
Very nice park, and the Halloween JackO'lantern spectacular looked like real fun. Theres also a full disk golf course.

Hadn't been through for some time but can say that it has not looked better than it does now..
Steve Keith
Beautiful park with nice hiking trails, a lookout, and plenty to do. I just wish you could park off the road on the backside like they used to allow.
TJ Demas
I love Iroquois (unless I'm half way into the Derby Marathon and fighting those hills - the struggle is real...) The park is great, generally well-maintained, and beautiful. They have finished the work up top and the new northern overlook is fantastic! It offers a great vew of most of Louisville and definitely the downtown skyline. And the amphitheater has great programming with lots of entertainment for everyone. I have been able to see Gary Clark Jr., Garrison Keillor, Michael Franti & Spearhead, and even Skrillex there in the last couple of years.
My one star deduction is for the overzealous attitude with security and metal scanning for Amphitheater events. On my last visit I heard an event person telling 60 year olds to leave their pocket knives in the car. No. Just no. If you know the neighborhood, and generally the world we live in these days... you wouldn't insist on disarming the good guys. And the good guys are definitely the people who pay to come see these shows and spend money on drinks and food and t-shirts and everything else. How about, you guys take our money, and we come in and have fun and provide our own security as we see fit, as we do outside of the amphitheater? Just a thought. I realize it is a complicated and emotionally-charged issue. Just adding my two cents today.
Hillary Young
Good place for kids to meet up. But it's beside a very busy street.
Dana Friess
There is so much that goes on here that everyone needs to check out. Plus they have beautiful trail rides and beautiful scenery.
Jennifer McDaniel
Always a ton of people. Bathrooms are always nasty. And the basketball and tennis courts need some investing.
Lesley Marie
Went for the pumpkin spectacular. And to just play.
Bessie Pfeifer
Love hiking here. Never see the same place twice. Disc golf course is pretty awesome too!!. Pet friendly!
Fam Camacho
Splash pad/spray park was nice and very clean enough benches and just enough shade. Bathrooms were being cleaned over all very well taken care og.

Great splash pad suitable for any age!

I love Iroquois park back in the day we called it make out mountain lol specially prom night Now Me and my grown kids and grandkids go there it changed a lot the only thing that I e seen is people use the trails to go up the hills but with the storms and this thing that they did to upper part of park they have it blocked off and people just go around it but all in all I love it
Prakash Bathimaraj
Great place. Jack O Lattern spectacular...very nice worth visit though little pricy..
Mukoma Issa
It's really nice park take your friends and significant others nice park for kids to play. This park also got basketball court and tennis court to. Good place to be.
Beni Moon
This place is beautiful setting here Iroquois park the road has been remodeled it great for morning running hiking.
Something Nice
This is a beautiful park with nice green scenery to view while visiting
Brian Price
Trails are marked by color and number yet the map is just marked by trail name. Not a very good system. Trails are also not marked very well, you could get lost easily if it started to get dark.
Shannon Bowman aka Charley Chainsaw
Love the way they made the lookout a lot better now for people to enjoy. This is a panoramic picture that I made today. Shows all of Southern Indiana Downtown Louisville and the Far Eastern tip of Illinois in this picture
