This place is amazing. Most sites are very spread out, lots of variety (for example, sites tucked in the trees, or out in the meadow, or along the creek, or near the common area). There is a ton to do without leaving the property, like exploring the creek or trails, games, and a playset.
We also loved that each spot was clearly marked and there is solar lighting to help walk back from the bathroom at night.
Since you're far from any city or highway, it's quiet at night (unless you're near the farm by the entrance or petting zoo, you'll hear the critters) and there are a bazillion stars.
Within a few miles is a really cool roadside store (Pharm) and old bridge to explore/fish. The creek alongside the property is great for seeing fossils and critters, the kids explored it for a few hours and probably would have played there all afternoon. The property is also super clean and well maintained.
Seriously, this is our new favorite place.

Awesome and unique campground! A family favorite of ours. Certainly a hidden gem! Very peaceful and scenic environment. There is a petting zoo, play park and a nice creek for children to enjoy. In addition to the beautiful scenery, each unique camp area is provided with a fire ring, grill, picnic table and trash can at the minimum. Steve was super nice. He arrived to feed the animals while my kids were enjoying the petting zoo. Steve provided my girls with food so they could feed the animals themselves. My kids thought that was absolutely awesome!

This place is a great place to camp, relax, and enjoy life. The campgrounds are clean and as tidy as nature allows. The park area is gorgeous with its landscaping, has plenty of activities, and shelter. Our host Steve made the stay of my group a joy and we are grateful for his service and care.
The campsites themselves are quite private and are sheltered under the canopy of trees which was welcome refuge from the summer sun. The creek nearby was clear and easy flowing during our stay. The campsite we stayed at had a trashcan, grill, and table which our group was quite grateful for. I want to make special note that the sites are clean as can be and the group was thoroughly impressed.
Aside from any games you brought yourself there were activities on site near the main shelter. The sun during our stay was prohibitively intense, however, our group will be returning during a milder time to enjoy what is offered. There are also trails and our group enjoyed a walk amidst a field of wildflowers as the sun was setting.
I and members of my group recommend this location for an easy going camping experience. The tidiness of the campground, the availability of water, and activities make this a great retreat. Many thanks to Steve for the experience.

I actually give this 10 out of 5 stars! This is the BEST campground I have ever been too! Steve is the best host. I love the campsites, they are so pretty, spacious, and private. I was sad to see that it wasn't full, I think its the best kept secret! Everyone needs to check this place out. I loved that there were great community spaces for kids, for adults, for hiking, and swimming! I love this place. I will be back multiple times in the future! We even got the most delicious gift for the camp owner (sweet tea vodka!).

This place was terrific. It was easy to find and Steve was amazing. My son and I found a site that was private and yet right on the river. We paid for a tent, did not want to have to pack one in and out. The tent we got was in great shape, honestly I expected it to be well used. It was at our site right away and Steve was right there making sure we had everything we needed. I knew right away it was going to be fun.
The amenities were unbelievable. The shelter was well stocked with anything you might need. My son and I played golf on the large field, plastic practice balls but in a chest filled with every outdoor sport accoutrement you could ask for.
There was a petting zoo with goats, ducks and chickens I hadn't even realized was there.
My one complaint, we only spent one day there. I felt like a week would have been much better to really enjoy this place.
I can not recommend this enough. Five star is too low.

The best place for an off rode adventure for first timers. Grounds are clean and well kept, but also has a phenomenal owner that is welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommended!

The owner of this campground, Steve, made my friends and I feel right at home. The property is well maintained and very welcoming. Steve supplied us wood and made sure we were well taken care of. The port-a-potties are well spaced between campsites but sometimes you find that the previous camper did not leave the place clean. Make sure to bring toilet paper because there is no guarantee it will be inside when you need it. The campsite we chose was huge and fit 6 large tents and a large canopy. I felt safe the whole weekend and had a perfect trip!

This was our very first outing in our very first RV, and going to Hones Point was the perfect choice! It's an absolutely perfect spot with so much to do. The pavilion was large and very functional, and the kids loved the swinging chairs and all the yard games which included horseshoes, badminton, soccer, volleyball, and more. Being right next to the expansive creek was awesome too as the kids loved looking for fossils. Best of all, Steve was such an awesome person and accommodating host. A true super host in every way, We’ll be back for sure. Thanks again Steve!!

This place is amazing. I can honestly say I have never stayed at such a well manicured place as this one. I also love the fact that you are not right on top of each other and some of the sites are VERY remote. I will definitely be making Hones Pointe one of my new favorite destinations and would 100% recommend Steve's Hones Pointe to everyone who loves to tent camp. I have shared a pic of our site but it wouldn't let me load my video.

The campgrounds were well maintained, as well as the main grounds. The owners and staff were friendly and very accommodating. This will definitely be a new favorite spot.

We really didn't know what to expect from the images and information online, but Hones Pointe Campground is awesome in person and we highly recommend checking it out. My family and I stayed in the "Slanted Oak" site for two nights during July 4th weekend and we had a blast. This particular site was super cool because it has a private trail that leads down to the creek. The creek wasn't super high, but it was flowing and our daughter enjoyed catching tons of minnows and crawfish with her net. The water level actually worked out perfectly because we were able to set up our folding camping chairs right in the creek to relax with our feet in the water while enjoying a cold beer. Even though there were other sites around us, we still felt like we had enough privacy in our little wooded cove. Slanted Oak is at the back of the campground, so it feels more secluded than the ones towards the front. We explored the campground and recommend you do the same. Check out the wildflowers and butterflies in the North Field trails! There's a dirt road leading to the creek near the field as well. Little details like bird and hummingbird feeders in most of the campsites show that Steve (the owner) takes a lot of pride in the campground and creates an elevated camping experience. We talked to Steve for awhile and we're excited to see his future plans for the campground to come to life. We plan on spending a lot more time at Hone Pointe Campground!

Great family experience. Steve is a great host and makes sure you have what you need. There are campsites tucked away in the trees, and others more out in the open. Many sites can handle group gatherings. My kids loved the creek running behind the campground. This is currently a great spot to do social distance camping if you are looking to get the family outside but not around too many people. We will be going back frequently.

We had such a good experience here because, most importantly for us, we felt very safe throughout our entire stay. The host, Steve, is welcoming and helpful and you can text him anytime if you need anything at all. The entire campground is thoughtfully designed with cute decorations and well maintained landscaping, and there are many different types of bird feeders all over the property and the whole place just feels so cozy. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially if you have kids or are new to camping.

The campsites and the host Steve are wonderful. Our trip unfortunately was cut short due to the weather but we plan to go back during a better forecast.

We had so much fun the owners are really nice and welcoming thank you for a great time we will be back

Great Family Environment with plenty of options of Camping Sites from field camping to woods camping. The Kentucky River is a must to explore on this campground. The animals are a blast... goats, chickens, sheep... Oh MY!! Our family enjoyed an evening of Volleyball!

One of the best camping experiences I've had. Campground is extremely clean, well maintained, peaceful, private, and quiet. The owner, Steve, is one of the most genuinely easygoing and nice people I've met. He came by to make sure my bird feeders were filled so I got to watch them and listen to birdsong all week from my riverside hammock with a nice good book. The attention to detail at each site was incredible too. He decorated for Halloween so there's cool little details hidden throughout the sites along with solar lights along the perimeters and pathways which were great at night to navigate. He has a small petting zoo with some goats and turkeys that are all extremely tame, you can even go in and pet them! There's also a really docile horse you can say hi to, he came right up to me and let my pet him for a good 10 minutes. Very therapeutic. All in all you can tell he really cares about his property and runs a tight ship. If I'm ever back this way I'll definitely be back. Couldn't recommend enough!

This was a cute little place! You can tell steve puts a lot of thought and effort into keeping his campsites cute, clean, and in order! He even has cooking utensils for the grill!! (which we forgot ours so they came in handy!) we choose a cute little secluded site by the river which was really nice! Seems to be first come first serve so be there on time! This time of year must be tick season so be sure to bring the bug spray and check the pups and yourself! Would highly recommend to friends and family!

This is a great campground, beautiful property with a running creek. Owner is so kind, he found us a last minute site for the night so we could finish our 1,400 mile trip home the next day. Thank you so much.
Adam Goins
Great place for kids. Plenty of things to keep kids busy enjoying themselves. Very well groomed and stocked. They have everything you forgot to, or don't usually bring. Well lit paths at night for trips to the bathroom. The petting zoo was a nice feature for extra enjoyment. Will be going back.

My partner and I stopped here to camp for a night on our road trip and were blown away by the place! Steve was super friendly and accommodating, and the campground has many amenities and details that make it a great destination for all. We chose a site near the petting zoo and hung out with goats, sheep, turkeys and ducks for the evening (they're so cute!) Each campsite had little items hung around to make camping fun, like marshmallow roasting skewer poles and a grill post (byo charcoal) and even a brush hanging from the picnic table for easy cleanups after breakfast. There was also a large common area for grilling, food prep, etc. We would definitely come back and bring some friends! I kinda wish I could give even more than five stars :)
Denise
I’m so glad we found this place!!! Steve is a wonderful host, love that he brought us a little gift! It’s my home away from home!! If anyone is looking for a little get away and loves camping this is the perfect place to be lots to do and places to explore! Steve takes care of each campsite putting a lot of details in each site!! Thank you Steve your the best can’t wait to see what the future holds for this place!!

We camped at a Hones Point primitive site and it was a great experience. Steve was extremely hospitable and the grounds were very well cared for. The creek/river was a nice place to stay cool in the 90 degree weather. There were little wood signs for each site which was nice. There were also grills and grilling utensils at the sites. We’ll definitely be going back.
Mike Leporati
Fantastic private camp group with spots right along the creek. Steve takes care of every site and insures their clean. 5 stars for hospitality alone. Bird feeders, deer salt and wildflowers all around. You're sure to see wildlife. This place is a short drive to Jericho Lake and 30 mins from Louisville. I'm definitely coming back.
Deanna Lovin
The camp area was private. Loved the river and all the special touches that were available to make your stay extra nice. Steve made us feel very welcome after an 8 hr drive. He even had a fire going for us. If we come back to this area we will definitely use this campground

Hello All. We had a very peaceful stay at Hones Point. The campsites each have their own name and are enormous compared to what one usually finds. Steve greeted us with a bottle of local product and couldn’t have been more welcoming. If you enjoy birds, we saw nuthatches, cardinals, blue jays, titmouses, sparrows and more. There is a large open recreation area with volleyball, badminton, tetherball and “hillbilly hot tub” AKA new stack tank. Don’t forget the petting zoo at the end of the road. Great place to spend the night in the Kentucky woods.
danny hader
Absolutely great campgrounds and wonderful hospitality. Would highly recommend to anyone that is wanting to go camping but doesn't want to put up with the hassle of campsites being stacked on top of one another. The creek is very clean and relaxing to listen too at night. I will 100% be going back to hones pointe.

Absolutely loved the place! The owner, Steve, made my friends and I feel so comfortable. He would check in from time to time to see if we needed anything and then would return with what we needed shortly after. A1 dude!! The campsite itself was very clean, spacious, and beautiful of course! Myself and ALL of my friends 100% recommended this place!

We took a group of Boyscouts primitive camping, they all loved the experience from playing and swimming in the river to playing all the sports in the activity field, also walking the nature trail and North field trails area. Steve was super nice and made us feel at home thank you again. He does an awesome job from keeping the porta potties super clean, look almost new on the inside, to keeping the campsites and trails very well maintained. Campsites all have a fire pit or ring, outdoor grill with utensils, picnic table and chairs from what we could see. We will be returning soon. Highly recommend for groups or family camping.

Beautiful campground!! Steve wins CAMP PROPRIETOR OF THE WORLD award. He was beyond helpful!! The Dark skies provide excellent star gazing😍We caught lots of little fish in the river, saw tons of birds, and enjoyed a midnight dip in the hillbilly pool. 😊. I hated to leave!! I’ll definitely return to Hones Pointe. 💖 …

Hones Pointe is a beautiful campground with great amenities. Very well-kept, situated right along the Little Kentucky River. Great place for parties, retreats, receptions, or family picnics. The owner takes great pride in this property and I am confident that your experience will be as good as ours was. We can’t wait to return!

We had a wonderful one night stay at the "Oakie Dokie" site. The owner clearly loves his property, it's well maintained and he made sure we had everything we needed when we arrived. Loved the firepit at this particular site as well. I'll absolutely be going back.
Elizabeth Bulmer
Cute secluded spot. Not much water play area honestly due to copper heads. But the host is super sweet. The grounds are beautiful and the spots all have grills and fire rings.
Evan Roberts
We brought a group of 13 and had a blast! Steve made us feel right at home. It was private, yet had plenty of amenities. I would definitely recommend this site to other campers.
Bradley Catron
This campground offers a little bit of something for everyone. Whether you like to sleep in a tent, hang a hammock, or campout in your RV. It seems like the owner is constantly working on the place to provide more fun and more games to make the experience that much better. I love playing horseshoes, volleyball, throwing frisbee, or just going for a hike up the creek or on the trails. Its a great place for large events as well with more than enough space. I have always had a great experience here and hope others do too.
Mariana Vahalova

Arrived today, to stay tonight before heading further south. Booked the night prior, and was met by our host steve. (Extremely nice)
Campground is clean, (rustic) but very nice, small petting farm(goats, turkeys, chickens).
Play area in the front, with slides swings ect.. very quiet. Plenty of space for kids to run around with a small stream than runs in the back. (Son found some very nice fossils in)
Steve is a great host (even giving us some sternos to get the fire lit due to it raining 20 min prior to arrival, goes above and beyond. Delivering the firewood and so much more!!
If we are back in this area again will stop to stay again. So glad I found this place!!!
