Reviews of Vista Hermosa Natural Park, Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority

Vista Hermosa Natural Park is a sizable green space with a wooded loop trail, there are some stairs near the west gate entrance. Great views of downtown LA from south side of the trail.
The park has a picnic area, benches, as well as public restrooms. It's probably not a great place for kids to play but adults will enjoy a breezy stroll.
Amy Andrews
One of my favorite parks to picnic in LA - very scenic, peaceful and clean with a great view of the downtown skyline. There are also a few walking paths around the park to enjoy the nature. Very family friendly as well with a children's adventure area and bathrooms. There is street parking and a small parking lot as well. I also love getting food delivered here from busy restaurants in the area where parking is a challenge too. Definitely a hidden treasure in the busy city!
Natalie the traveling foodie!
Beautiful park on the heart of the beat of the city. Highly recommend. Luckily enough to run into a “birthday picnic in the park”
So creative and so beautiful! I highly recommend for a relaxing day on nature.
Cynthia N.
The park was nice, it has a playground for kids and some grassy areas for picnics. It has a nice view of LA. Overall a good park, not super green also bring your own toilet paper for bathrooms.
Vladimir Ballesteros-Moreno
Beautiful park located near by downtown Los Angeles. A scape from the city noise and traffic. Excellent for picnics, workouts and walk out your dog. Dogs must be on a leash.
Joy Wagner
A really nice spot to get some nature in the middle of the city!
Most of it's pretty accessible no matter your physical limitations, although not all pathways are paved. Just watch out for tree roots or the odd random dog waste if you leave the path.
Don't go if you deeply dislike other people, children, the working class, immigrants, or dogs, as you'll see a lot of all those demographics at this park at pretty much any time.
Please do go if you're okay with all of that, want to get a good view of DTLA, and might enjoy a surprisingly long walk (the trek from parking and main gate to good lookout spots is pretty short, but trails criss-cross the whole park and you can do multiple laps without getting bored).
It's a pretty clean, safe spot in general; the shadiest thing I witnessed was just some people discreetly smoking cannabis in the bushes (don't even narc because that's perfectly legal here 🙏🏼).
There are public bathrooms, although you may wish to bring your own water because flow to the fountains has been limited due to drought restrictions.
The park "closes at sundown", but you don't need to run right out -- just start heading to the exit around dusk and maybe have your phone or flashlight handy to illuminate your way since the paths aren't lighted.
If you arrive by car, it's right off the freeway and Glendale / Beverly Blvds.
Have fun and enjoy your chill time!

First thing i smelled was Rosemary when I got out, gifted me a JOLT of happiness right away...✅️ 😊...
Such a beautiful place to visit. Bring some water and snacks and leave the electronics inside the car, unplug for an hour, your mental health will thank you!
Audrey Mae Moncada
I don’t think this park is well kept enough. There are areas that they could cut for people to walk through comfortably. There are spots with no grass but mud. 4 star for the views.
David White Jr
A hidden gem. Surrounded by trees, a school and residential areas, this park is hidden to the naked eye from surrounding roads unless you happen stumble upon the entrance. A small but big park with a winding trail encompassing the entire park. There are "three" main grass areas within the park where dogs and families roam. The trail also connects to a couple extra extensions on the outer skirts that include jungle gyms, seating areas, and a tall staircase. Great for anytime throughout the day when the sun is up.

Vista Hermosa Natural Park opened more than a decade. It is planted with native California trees and vegetation that now have matured to the point that when you walk through this park, you can easily forget that you are so close to downtown Los Angeles with its massive high-rise buildings. Even from the highest elevations of the park, the high-rise buildings are very well out of the sightline except for a few locations. It is a peaceful place and is also restful.
A great place to escape the City, if even for a few minutes or hours.
This is a great little park.
Hellen Kopp
What a hidden gem in the busy downtown neighborhood. Amidst the high rise concrete jungles, this is a natural oasis that’s full of tress and beautiful flowers.
I was researching for a Photoshoot spot for my daughter’s graduation, I found many of the graduations picture on google that were taken here. The beautiful view had just mesmerized me. I decided to go and check out this place.
This park has many play grounds for the children and hiking trails for the adults. Many people also come here to have a picnic and to enjoy the spectacular view of downtown LA skyline.
There is a spot at the top of the park that has the full view of the downtown skyline. There are two beaches here, one is facing the skyline and the other is facing the park. For those of you who are dating, this is like the romantic inspiration point in the old Hollywood movies.
For Photoshoot, golden hours bring out the best shots with golden sunlight splashes all over the skyline, the result is spectacular.
Roy Kim
It’s a small but quaint park with little nooks and crannies on the side of a hill for privacy if needed. It’s not too crowded and there’s a big open space as well with a play area at the top. A great place to be in nature when needing some fresh air from the city.

Parking is limited in the park but you find a few spots on the street.

This review is more of wanting more info and giving some suggestions.
1) have seen photo of someone selling some stuff. What I'd like to know is if it is allowed or does there need to be permit and from whom/where, in order to sell something here?
2) have read that teenagers come here to make out. Is there noone monitoring the grounds of this park? Shouldn't there be to make sure it is safe and that the park is kept family friendly?
3) dogs are allowed unleashed here. As a pet owner and someone who works in healthcare, while I would love that my dogs be off leash, on a public place like this, for the safety of both pets and humans, pets should not be allowed to be off leash.
4) some people got lost in this park and almost got locked in. I think there should be park maps put up on areas of the park showing where people are at any point, inside the park.
Melystikal
Came here because I seen a vlog on youtube naming this park as a must see in LA/PCH. Can't remember the vloggers name but he said don't feel intimated here because there is alot of pretty people here lol. Well didn't see many women here but must of seen six shirtless guys all juiced out. There is restrooms available and a playground. This spot also has the famous view of the bench over seeing downtown LA. Overall, best park in LA my opinion. Also, lots of spots with tables that are in corners on the park for privacy. Stair friendly.
Sam Chan
Awesome little park overseeing the downtown buildings. The playground is for little ones, probably not for 6 years old and up. There is a trail that goes around the park that makes you seem like you are walking in the woods. I am sure it would be a romantic walk at night with the downtown high-rise lights
Tyler Stewart
Lovely little park. Nice grassy areas to sit and it’s usually not too crowded so you can social distance. Great place to catch the sunset and see the downtown skyline.
Michael Towne
This park provides unexpected respite from the urban pressures outside its gates. Meandering paths through groves of trees provide a serene spot from which to view the DTLA skyline. Vista Hermosa Natural Park is one of the rarest of hidden gems, a free one.
Moses Soto
Nice hidden park on the outside of Downtown LA. Nice place to walk, eat, or have a good time away from the never sleeping Downtown Los Angeles area.
Parking is minimal.
Jeff
A gem in LA. You would ask yourself, is there a decent park around DTLA that you can let the kids play or have a picnic or chill and unwind?
And I would tell you absolutely.
Vista Hermosa, as the name implies, has incredible views of downtown while also being able to offer amazing greenery.
I’m not going to compare this to Central Park in nyc, cause it’s no Central Park. However the soul of having a nature getaway near a large city is very much there. You can easily be in parts of the park and not feel like you’re close to downtown.
Every time I go it’s pretty quiet with not that many people there hanging out. But when there are,
It’s mostly families enjoying little picnics on their blankets.
Overall it’s a charming park and would recommend coming with the family.
Lastly, stay till sunset. The view will be worth it.
Mariann Bilden
My partner and I visit here fairly often. Merely having a small walk is one of my ultimate physical activities through the area. Sometimes it can be crowded, therefore I would suggest to visit during the less popular nights within the workweek. The best thing you can do here is simply just bring a camera and take photos.
Anna W
Ok first timer here ! I was in awe each step I took around this park. Looking for los angeleses hidden gems well this was one that did not disappoint.
Everyone around was within there 6 feet social distancing and we were all able to enjoy the park along with my dog.
I was a bit saddened as I did not see the waterfall I read was here. Maybe durning this time covid has stopped more than the population at this time. I'm hoping one day I may see this waterfall.
The views here are priceless 👌 there are so many benches to sit and stay within the distancing and be out for a hour. Most definitely will be back.
Binh Ly
Less than a mile from the Westin and so quaint and green. Very well kept and the views were fantastic. Great for running and getting a few laps in. LA needs more parks like this one. I ran here from my hotel and had no problems, sidewalks were wide.
Lawrence Dotson
At the northwestern edge of downtown Los Angeles sits a shady respite from the busy city center. I was very surprised at the seclusion of this park and the awesome views of office towers projecting from the treetops. This’s a great place for a picnic or an outing with small children. I was disappointed that the waterfall wasn’t working, but drought conditions are likely the cause.
Kyle Tran
Small nice park, not to many people, one of my favorite views of Downton LA.
Alexander Pineda
Simply beautiful views. Family Park. Lots of time to relax and enjoy a picnic. So many beautiful spots within the park. Room for lots of sports. I really enjoyed this place. It's a must come and a must do for a relaxing afternoon. Our friend went to propose at that park.
Claudia Diaz
Cute little park in the heart of DTLA. Great spot to have a chill little picnic with friends or family. It’s small but it has the best view of the city.
Gabriel Gabe
Lots of maintenance staff cleaning the park. Well manicured and groomed.
Ashley Taylor
We usually bring a picnic and enjoy the view of the skyline from the grass, but I believe they just put in some more picnic tables so those are available as well. There are also perfect trees for setting up a hammock and relaxing.
Jackie Agor
Great little park. A hidden gem near Downtown LA. View makes a great backdrop for photo shoots and videos. Quiet in the mornings and on some weekdays.
Limited parking
Restrooms available
Brenda Vivar
One of my favorite places to visit. You can see downtown and enjoy the view. They have a small play area for kids. You can walk around the trail. Parking lot has limited spaces, street parking is always another option. Public restrooms are available.
Cristian
Really nice park that features DTLA as a background character among its scenery. The park is spacious enough with the space it has (it is a small walk to traverse the entire park). Yet, there is plenty of space to come for a picnic, walk a dog, or enjoy a nice evening at a park. The view of DTLA speaks for itself and the cleanliness is good for parks found in Los Angeles. Highly suggest to come and check it out.
Kim Hunter
It is a small but lovely little neighborhood park slightly northwest of DWTN LA. It has walking paths, picnic tables, a playground for kids and a stream with a tiny pool at the end( not for swimming). I like it because it's the perfect place for a sit on the grass with a blanket for two.
Douglas Chan-Wing
This is a neat location to see the view of downtown Los Angeles. Hipster paradise for their social media since the hilltop has a grand view of the city. There are plenty of grassy fields for picnics and hangouts with the family.
Jonathan Gilcrest
A little slice of heaven.
This park has a great path to run with up and down slopes that equals roughly 1/4 mile. The views of DTLA are absolutely stunning at any time of day, but sunset and sunrise are especially gorgeous. Family friendly. Has events in the summer. Kept very clean by state park rangers. One of the best hidden gems of LA.
Chris
Great park that has many locations that overlook the City of Los Angeles. Fair sized trails you can walk and get lost in along with a giant field for setting up a picnic.
Sandra Mendoza
Lots of green space. Dog friendly. Play area for kids. Busy soccer field. Spectacular downtown scene.
Viii Beee
Cute little park with a breath taking view of DTLA!
Steven Howell
Took wife to this hidden treasure, free parking, lots of shade and sunshine, very nice quaint place to come and relax 😌 bring a blanket and plenty food and the one you love, and just chill. Enjoyed the day very much. Thanks for sharing your park with us. It is very close to our home also 😊 …
BSAAMichaelODST
Amazing scenery it's calming and a good place to relax and jog for a while the restrooms need soap or sanitizer dispensers also saw a wild rabbit there nature at its finest!
Norma La De Guadalajara
Beautiful views! Nice to go and relax and have a picnic on the grasa.
Turtle Man
I love this park, even tho a bunch of underage kids are getting drunk and high, it's a great place to go with your significant other, and have a romantic picnic or lunch! I love it! ❤️
Scott Garcia
Great place for taking pictures with the Hollywood sign in the back , nice park with a play ground for kids
FastFerrari82
Nice views of DTLA, but very limited parking, but I did show up on a Saturday @3pm, so maybe earlier is best.
John Pobursky
A small, but nice park in the north hills of Los Angeles. Good place for a walk, with views of downtown.
Jerry Zhou
Great photo location to shoot the skyscrapers of downtown Los Angeles. We went very early to capture the sunrise and there was ample parking spaces. After a short hike, we arrived at this prime location that shows the skyline of LA.
Victor Var
The park got a little better from the last time I took my dog yes it's a dog-friendly restroom for male looks clean you can also have a picnic with friends
Shawn Theodoran
If in doubt spend the time to come here great views of the city and plenty of stuff for the kids to play on really unique play area in its own
Michael Landicho
What makes up for this seemingly small park packed tightly next to Roybal High School is the picturesque view of the DTLA skyline at any time of the day. The entrance water fountains work but the ones in the middle of the park do not, so make sure to get water beforehand, or at the conveniently situated vendors at the parking lot.
Rossy Rodrigues
It's true, it's beautiful. The sun, your greens and the view of the city, it's amazing
Bino Morales López
Beautiful park, a small but really clean and natural.
Colton Cooper
It’s a very nice park with fountain, playground, green grass and breathtaking view of DTLA building. I came here around 6:45pm and unfortunately i had to see those people who did hanky panky like a hamburger bun in public inside the park and trust me it wasn’t just a couple but many of them. I wouldn’t care if they did that in private but they did it in front of those kids who were in the park. BTW, i saw broken pieces of windshield around the parking area so don’t put your bag or any valuable thing that is visible from outside.
Omar
Pretty park. Some nice views but tress will obscure the city line. Small but nice park.
Hana Leuze
Beautiful slice nature with a cool view of city. Family friendly, many people there walking their dogs. It’s a good place to come and enjoy LA’s all year round summer :)
Joann Williams (Nai'a)
A very nice little park tucked into the neighborhood. Good walking paths, plenty of benches, kids area with the giant snake, the waterfall, lots of grass
Negar Shahrokh
It’s a relatively small park, I don’t really recommend it for hiking or running since you’ve gotta run in circles to get some good exercise. But it has very nice view and would be nice for walking your dog or a small picnic.
Babak Eliyahou
Beautiful park and very nice place for a picnic. You can get some nice photos here too.
Robert Trevethan
Beautiful little park to visit. Our 2 year old niece loved the playground area with a dog in turtle. The leaves were very pretty in autumn.
Steven Armenta
Beautiful park to be at. Amazing scenery of Los Angeles and their buildings. They have a playground for kids and also a good route for walking and jogging. Pets are also welcome.
Diana Kapran
Nice park for morning or evening walk. It has a beautiful view to the downtown
Michael Allaway
Awesome park to come to on weekday mornings 🌄 during Covid
Gets very busy on the weekends …
Ezequiel Ambrosio
I use to come here with my mom and dad as a kid, it's a peaceful park very close to downtown LA. And yes I'm from LA. Angelino forever.

This park is beautiful and a nice place to come with friends or on a date
Chris6d
A cute little park with lots of activity. Come here to have a picnic, play catch, or especially take nice pictures of Downtown.
Kanani
Oh my gosh! Please take a photo of the map when you go in my friend and I entered and got lost and locked in the park! It closes at 8pm!! Has a cool water fall tons of nice benches and hills to sit on a beautiful hidden paradise
Brendan Walsh
Hidden block of natural treasure, that's well known by locals. Picnic, sun yourself, or admire the views of downtown.
Nataly
There are some great spots here to lay down and enjoy the day. A lot of shade from the trees and the view of LA is amazing
FirstBlood Warrior
This is a hidden gem of a park. Lovely and dog friendly. I'll let the pictures do the talking for the rest of this review... oh the views! 😍🌃 …
miss azulcrema hernandez
Great Park to have a walk, run, read a good book or a picnic. Does not have a playground for kids but they can play ball.
JOHNNY JAILHOUSE
Such a beautiful site . Definitely going to go back . Parking was small but available at the times we went .
Kimberly Bell
We set up a picnic table here and my kids loved it. They also love the playground of the park. The place is perfect for family bondings.
Jon-Enee Merriex
Really great spot for a walk. I hate hiking but the journey is short and the views are glorious. Also there are many great photo spots too.
Michelle Zaharek
This park has the best view of the skyline. Amazing sunsets and gorgeous views. Highly recommended on a warm day for picnicking on the grass.
Jemina Ocampo-Ong
Open fields, lots of shade, view of downtown. The playground area has some tables and shady spots but the slide is under the sun and gets hot.
Ryan T.
Great place to stay at daytime with your dogs and family, highly recommended!
Super Man
Beautiful park for nice walk or quiet time away from the busy city life without driving hrs or mileages away from it.
Layt 75
Nice place, amazing view to downtown LA.
Monica Apriori
I am in love with this park! When you want to go somewhere quite but not have to leave the city 🏙 this is the place. It is literally a hidden gem inside all of the trees and bushes. The little hills are great for rolling down and it’s the perfect place to read a book and catch some rays ☀️ …
Sabrina W
Beautiful park will maintain right in the middle of the heart of the city would’ve never even known it was there.

Cute little walking area good for all ages and not very long. Good views if it's not foggy
Jovannie Slusher
Great park with tons of space, nice views, and a cool vibe!
Robert M
This is a very pleasant little Park on the edge of downtown. There's a trail the circumnavigates a meadow it makes for a very pleasant 15 minute walk. There are lots of trees shrubbery, and open grassy areas. There are paths off to the side, picnic tables and wooden benches. There is also a nice view of the downtown Skyline.
Alvaro TcnoTrvlr
My fiance and I visited for the first time, as the last stop of our engagement photo shoot. There were plenty of people watching us in our awkwardness but they were all smiles.
A sunset on the famed bench overlooking the city skyline was wonderful.
Although the park seemed less active than usual because of current restrictions, it was still quite pleasant and lively. We'll come back for a sunset lunch soon
Jacob Terrazas
Great park to walk chill and enjoy the sunset 🌇 …
Norma Celis
Great and beautiful place with great scenery when not crowded.
Myles Jackson
A complete surprise in the middle of the city. The cleanest park I've been to in LA and so quite. It's a Oasis and a great place to be at sunset.
ax Troch
Hidden gem, strongly recommended.
Alberto Gonzalez
🎶 sitting in the park 🎶 with this great view… …
Junaid Aasi
Please be careful wit parking. They will lock you in the park and lock your car. You will get parking ticket if you are here after sunset
Most people here come first time.
View of downtown LA is gorgeous a d park has a ramp to take strollers or bike etc.
Luis Pineda
This is a hidden gem..I'm an angeleno and I never knew about this park. I ran into it while looking for apartments in that area. Very clean and green .. loved it.
J. Danny Gonzalez Galan
Gorgeous park with one of the most iconic views of DTLA. Perfect for literally everything: dog-walking, picnics, hang out, photoshoots, etc etc.
Gonzalo Rodriguez
Great downtown LA views. Nice clean park for pictures and picnics. Must find and say hi to the park cat clem.
Bailey S
Lovely place to watch the sunset over downtown LA's skyline.
fernando ramirez
i've been coming here for years and was surprised that on my last visit they really let some of the park maintenance go unattended. although, it wasn't anything major that needed to be taken care of, it was still a bit too cluttered. i love taking a walk through here and enjoying the views of the city and the surrounding areas. i highly suggest visiting in the late afternoon prior to the sunset and sticking around for a while afterwards to enjoy it fully.
Scott Stewart
Great hidden gem in L.A. sweet views of downtown. Very nice park!
Raquel Medina
I go there during my lunch and walk around a few times.
Britton Gwen
Beautiful spot to get some great photos of Vista Hermosa Natural Park, Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority. We visited on a weekday morning when the weather was kind of gray and windy. It didn't deter from views, though, so I'll take it!
Kim Bryant
Beautiful nice place for dogs still have to be on the lease but you don't have to worry about no coyotes so far up and I press my luck lol .
Peace
Jacob Skoda
Beautiful place for a picnic or a quick walk. Has a well maintained playground, green space, and some nice picnic tables. Plenty of benches with great views. Can get a bit crowded at times, everybody loves it here!
Kadi
Very beautiful location I’m in love with our pregnancy announcement pictures
Yubraj pokharel
If you want some fresh feeling and greenery away and in short distance from the LA downtown then this is the best place. Not that big but is enough to make a fresh mood. Nice jogging trials and the view of downtown at the dawn is more fascinating.
Kimberly Louis
Beautiful park very dog friendly 👌 ❤️ …
Angela Caceres
Is a beautiful place to have a picnic and enjoy with your family
Elisabeth Raff
Beautiful park with many shaded areas and some great views of downtown. Love spending an afternoon here! Park restrooms with soap and water, no lights after dark as it closes 30 min after sunset - so don't get stuck in the dark!
Italy brown
Beautiful Park but after dark there's no lights in the park which feels very dangerous and there's no security there to make sure that people are out at dark time people could get Vapes in the bushes or anything I was very disappointed
Gonzalez
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! SUCH BEAUTIFUL SCENERY! Super nice area to have a picnic! VERY PEACEFUL and i will definitely be going again. today was a super dope experience. i took my dog and he played with so many other dogs! they’re all roaming around freely and they’re all friendly! SUPER NICE PLACE AND I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! 10/10 ! i had a picnic there and it was super relaxing.
Grace
Absolutely stunning park with incredible views. It feels like a paradise, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The plants and trees are lush and there are plenty of places to have a picnic. If you are visiting Downtown LA I would reccomend visiting this park to get amazing views of the skyline and respite from the never ending concrete in the city.
Devin Olson
Beautiful park with great views of the city sky line. A great loop trail that is nice for moderate exercise like a run or walk. Gets a little muddy in the rain though. Beautiful spot for a picnic or lunch in the park.
Seth Trey
One of the most beautiful parks in Los Angeles. Wide lawns separated by dense copses, beautifully framed views of Downtown. It's usually possible to find a spot, but soon I bet it won't be.
Maria Elena Robles
This is my favorite park because it's where I fell in love with my now fiancé. It's not too big but it's very nice and peaceful and well maintained. The waterfall is a nice little feature but not too big or impressive. There are a lot of trees which also means a lot of shade but my two favorite spots are the bench where you can see the downtown skyline and the hidden picnic tables which is a nice quiet place to sketch or talk.
Rachell Gonzalez
Beautiful little park with a great view of Downtown at the top edge.
Curtis Orthmann
An urban Oasis just north of downtown Los Angeles offering outdoor classes on local natural history, conservation and the environment.
C. E.
Beautiful hidden park with views of DTLA
Nikki
Beautiful overview of the city of angels. Aside from the current smoke that seems to be everywhere, it's a very open landscape that is the perfect place for a picnic or just a place to relax and read a book. Highly recommend checking it out right now to clear the pandemic blues, it's a little something we all need right now!
Cuauhtzin Toltecatl
Came with some all she did was tell at me with a beautiful view recomend your girl bring at least ull have a beautiful view
Jago Gonzalez
Little park with Awesome views of the LA skyline
christian cameron
Beautiful park, you should be able to find parking on the street if the small lot is full. There are plenty of spaces around for everyone and in one spot you have a view of the skyscrapers so that is cool.
JC Hidalgo
I've been living here in LA for 9 years and didnt know this place until now. Its truly a beauty!
Zoe Navapanich
This is my favorite spot in LA. The views are great and the park itself is beautiful. The pond and line of trees makes everything feel so much more secluded and everything is just unmanicured enough to let you escape the concrete jungle for a couple hours. It's a perfect picnic spot and great for families, groups of friends, or a nice date.
alice chung
While not huge, this park offers great little areas to relax and hang out in. I appreciate the popular bench overlooking the city, flat area with trees that provide hammocking opportunities, and enough grassy areas for dogs and to picnic in.
Parking here can be tricky because it is around residential but not impossible to find.
Hidden gem that is a great getaway spot to enjoy nature.
NinjaRacx Go
This place used to be really nice to bring my kid to play and just get some good sunshine in the mornings. But they hardly trim the trees now and there are more insects. The trees and plants where the trails are, are not being kept well. Only the grass in the middle of the park. I wish they'd clean the park better and take care of the trees and plants more because it's a really nice park.

This is a nice place to visit with awesome views of the L. A. skyline. Lots of pot smokers though, so be prepared for the smell of skunk. Lol. The restrooms are very clean and the whole area is well maintained. Parking is pretty scare, though.
Ray T
Ok to see city buildings. Not crowded. Easy parking.
rebecca burciaga
One of my favorite parks in Los Angeles. Please don’t trash it, I noticed some trash along the path, please be kind enough to pick it up. It’s the only way to keep our places clean. I speak from my own actions. If I find trash along the way I pick it up because the only trace I want to leave behind are my footprints. Please use gloves, I carry a reuse-able bag and gloves in my car. And when I go to a park or trail, I take them with me. As for the park itself, it has about 15 parking spots, it’s never full but I’m sure it has its days. It is in an odd area but it is safe.
Shejeer Shukkoor
Must visit, stay until dark for a shimmering and electrifying background of the LA heights. Period
S W
I have been in this area so often and never even knew this park existed! The parking lot is small but it seems like a lot of street parking is available. The park itself is beautiful, a lot of green with a little babbling brook even! Great for walks or a picnic. Amazing views of downtown and surrounding area. Really a gem that shouldn't be so hidden!
Sara Jones
wonderful small park w great views of DTLA
Wendy Solis
It was nice talking a nature hike with my family.
Nancy P
Perfect place to relax since it‘s not so overcrowded.
Alain V Berrebi
This new gift that our city has given us is designed for families and individuals alike. The park is perfect because of its multi-use design. You could come here with families and feel safe. You can come here to do exercise or just to be in nature. The Landscaping is beautiful and makes the park look much bigger than it is. There are Rolling Hills and parking is easy. If you're in downtown Los Angeles this is a must-see
Dante Rossi
Nice park. There's a rest room, toddlers slide, lots of seating, new grass. Walkways are quite dusty though. My young daughter was able to make a friend and play with a couple of dogs.
Alma Saiya
I didn't realize this gem was right smack dab in the middle of DTLA! Beautiful place to visit, jog or small hikes and to take pictures of the LA skyline up close.
Danny Nguyen
This is such a hidden spot near Downtown LA. This park is pretty empty, but I like it that way. I don't have to fight for parking. The park itself is really beautiful and has a small trail leading to the playground area. Don't forget to get a photo opp at the infamous bench facing the downtown skyline!
BD ELMO
Tranquil with so much plantation and an amazing view of the LA skyline!
Erik Martinez
Nice little park with a soccer field. Beautiful DTLA views.
Heather Freed
Way better then Exho Park. Though it's really small you completely forget you're right next to downtown. Lots of greenery and shade. Usually not too many people. Great picnic spot
Michael Mullady
Beautiful park to check out, it's a little small but worth visiting for sure. There were not many people when we went but a movie was being filmed. We may or may not be in the background of whatever film that is LOL.
Lorenzo Patricio
Vista Hermosa Natural Park in downtown Los Angeles is a hidden treasure in the heart of Los Angeles. There’s a nicely maintained walking/job path, rolling greens for picnics and great views of the Downtown skyline. Parking is terrible so be weary of that.
Bunnylicious
Park is very relaxing and has nice views.
Benjamin Bradford
One of the nicest urban parks I've been in, it contrasts natural beauty with the scenic backdrop of downtown LA. It has a small kid friendly playscape with giant animals and a padded floor, and there's a good chunk that's quiet and secluded, with tall vegetation that helps you feel alone and at peace in an otherwise congested environment.
Peter Reinold
This place has a great view of the LA Downtown Skyline. When I visited the parking space directly in the park was blocked off. i thought already that some event might be going on and indeed there was a wedding about to be held. They were still prepping everyting. Getting married outdoor in front of a nice skyline is not bad. There are a couple of trails and even public restrooms, kids play area and a mini waterfall. There is also parking available along the street for free. Shouldn't be a problem to find a spot during the weekend.
Nasid Habib
Nice place but not disability friendly.
Robert L
Awesome park, good place to be with the family. Beautiful view of LA.
Tim White
This nice, revitalized park was (I believe) built on the vacant lot in the movie Falling Down, where Michael Douglas memorably gets into a territorial gangland dispute involving his briefcase. Obviously night and day from how it appeared in that movie (released 1993).
Christopher Chin
Cute outdoor space near downtown LA. My partner and I wandered for about 30 minutes, bathrooms were surprisingly clean and the paths well maintained. Seems like a nice spot for a group to gather, there are picnic areas throughout.
Hugo De Leon
Beautiful & quiet. Not a very popular park, but for all the good reasons. It's solitary, which is what makes it beautiful because there are no crowds to ruin the nature & peace of the please. Always green & fresh, unlike other parks that seem uncared for
Mercy Ledesma
Best park for a beautiful view , love the down town la view and the water fall . Not to mention the kids play area at the very top .
Sonia Apodaca
It's beautiful and peaceful in the mornings. Other than all the kids ditching school to smoke there, I like it lol
t mitchell
Wanted to plan a romantic moonlight dinner but didn't know what park to go to so I looked it up and this park is literally romantic at night on the west gate the grass has this opening that views downtown under the moonlight it was perfect
Brandon Lopez
Beautiful scenery and great place to chill. The football pitch near it is great and has many goals for multiple groups of people to play with.
Max
What a nice and clean park in Filipino town! Great views of the Skyline as well as secluded meadows to sit under a tree or throw a frisbee. There is even a small waterfall and playground area to entertain the whole family. And it has off-street free parking!
Miguel Santos
Visited this park on a weekend with a couple of friends and enjoyed the experience. It is a well maintained recreational area with trails and a naturalistic environment.
Alfred Gracia
Definitely a hidden gem, and one of the beautiful park's los angeles has to offer, and located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. Very clean, beautiful view of the downtown sky scrapers, great walking trails for kids, small playground for kids to play. Clean restrooms and water fountains, with many area's to enjoy picnics or to enjoy a moment alone. This park is gated, and locked at night. I have stood there past the closing time, and they do have park rangers that patrol the park at night.
Gabriela Aquino
This is my favorite park in Los Angeles! The view is majestic. This place is beautiful in every way, everything is so green. I love coming here specially during fall when you can see all the leaves falling down as you lay down on the grass.
Lola
Beautiful park near downtown LA. It's built over my childhood neighborhood, where all the houses were old and dilapitated.
Bruce Tien
Such a cool place for picnic, photo shooting, dating and chilling, of course.
Robert “El JEFE” Palma
Beautiful park with great scenery of Downtown LA. Beautiful trees and nice grass, plenty of space for picnics and playing sports. You will have a great time! Bathrooms onsite with water fountains.
Lupita Mejia
Beautiful place a hidden treasure in downtown LA
Carmen Villegas
It was veryvnice to see the view of Downtown LA from here. Very peaceful.
William Bryant
It's an absolute beautiful and relaxing place to hike, take your dog or just have a nice lunch or picnic
Albert Ocampo
Clean, well kept park with rolling hills and great views
Glenn A
I have to admit the only reason I visited this park was to take a picture at the bench that overlooks the view of DTLA.
However, after visiting the park I was pleasantly surprised how nice of a park it is especially based on it's location. It's a great place to relax or have a picnic.
The only downside is the parking. Spaces are very limited so you might have to find parking on the street.
Tanya Ezrol
I love this park! Such a hidden gem! Great views of downtown la, picnic areas, and a playground for the kids. I love it so much I want to get married there! But it's been hard to get ahold of anyone at the provided numbers and email from the website and flyers on the office window. Can anyone help? Thanks so much!
Nate Villaume
Little gem! Winding paths through native landscaping create privacy and sense of space that is remarkable for such a little park. Beautiful views of the downtown skyline. Upper area has inventive playground for kids. Explore and treasure this park!
Eric's Adventures
I really like this park because I can get away from all the hustle and traffic whenever I visit downtown LA. Lots of couples enjoying themselves here too! It's a sweet little gem yet so close to convention centers.
Angela Seul Kim
Lovely little park that feels secluded but is right in the middle of the city. Good view of downtown from the famous bench and not too crowded. One of my favorite parks.
Krystal Martinez
This park is a beautiful place to come sit down on the grass with a blanket under many trees. I really enjoyed this place . Though I did notice there are a lot of young little couples looked like they ditch school to come here and kiss and etc. Dont think minor little kids should be seeing these lil kids kissing and all up on top of each other . Other then that I will deffinatly come here again .
Tanya Gonzalez
First time here and I enjoyed it, soo chill and mellow... nice for picnics with friends and kids
Faol Just Faol
When it first went in I thought they had mistakenly planted too many trees, but now that they have grown in it has become like trails in the forest with a couple of grass fields a great water feature and two childrens play areas. It's like several acres of the San Gabriel mountains at about four thousand feet was magically transported to down town Los Angeles.
tim mithy
Good God it's a little piece of heaven in the middle of nowhere it's small but you would never think that you have to go there it's a gym the perfect place to gather your thoughts. and there's little nooks and crannies there for the little love couples to smooch.and spend some romantic time together and please pick up your trash and don't leave any behind respect the card as all parts cuz if we don't clean it who will thank you I'll see you there
shane
We love this park for it's peace and beauty, and for the great natural playground up top. This is a perfect park for a quiet picnic and for a brisk walk as there is a pathway circling around it.
ChiKid 312
Possibly one of or if not the best park in all of Los Angeles. Very welcoming, clean, natural, calm, friendly, fair sized, well maintained, and it's actually pretty new because it was built in 2006 so only 10 years ago. Unlike old MacArthur and Echo this place (Vista Hermosa Natural Park) has a lot more to offer. And it still has a long history ahead of it. I love VHNP.
Jessie Chikas
Really clean and nice park. Great for kids and dogs. Good for a nice evening walk.
Manny Todd
A beautiful neighborhood park. I been here many times during the day. Well maintained, great landscape, good for kids, dogs, students, close to the police station, schools, shop and bus stations. This park, can be busy depending on the time and days, It has tennis court. Lots of trees , and different types of plants, flowers, and its bird sanctuary. Great parking lot, and restroom. It has surveillance cameras in the right part of the Park. I feel safe coming in and walking in here. Sometimes I used the park for short cut depending which part of DTLA or even outside of the DTLA. The surrounding pockets of neighborhood, has been gentreyfied. They have done a lot improvements. Considering it's much safer to walk later at night. I wouldn't recommend to walk around by the Westlake area, there still pockets of Westlake, that even during the day, you can just feel,, that is not an area to be walking around most especially not by yourself.
bullfrog “Bullfrog”
Very nice little park tucked in to a perfect corner of the city for getting out of the hustle and bustle. Great picnic spot or just for stretching those.
Allie Rehm
Escape the city while you enjoy a view of the city. The abundant foliage plus the backdrop of downtown skyscrapers makes it a Popular spot for photo shoots (I witnessed 3 shoots in an hour). My dog also gives it a paws up:)
Eric Burke
Beautiful natural park right near downtown... a hidden treasure!
Coleman Vurbeff
Cute little park that wasn't too crowded. It feels a lot more personal than Echo Park. DTLA also looks like you can reach out and touch the skyscrapers. It is clean, parking is a problem though and you will probably have to park on the street.
A S
Unfortunately we reached here late one evening and the park was closed, deserted almost. SO to grab a neat view of the LA skyline, we stopped at the playground next door and it wasn't too bad. The park is on elevated ground which would have definitely given a better view.
bsmed77bs
While visiting from Washington DC we wanted to get away from the tourist trap areas and luckily found this park, wow! What a great view and the grounds are awesome. Would definitely go back!
Irene Ramirez
Are you from LA? Visiting LA? Well this is not the biggest tourist spot but is it definitely a hidden gem by DTLA .. love everything about this park so much nature in the middle of the city
Plenty of street parking make sure to lock your doors ... it is free & worth your time ..
take a camera or have your phone ready pictures are a must
Jose Hernandez
Beautiful parl to take a jog or walk your dog. Of you have kiddos there's also a small park for them to play around. Although with its rise in popularity it may feel crowded at times
Brian Garcia
This place is beautiful! I have been coming here since it opened and it just keep getting better. The only thing is that there is currently a lot of construction going on in the area. So the route I usually take was closed. I loved it.
Wilfred Griffith
Environment was good. Beautiful place. Great place to spend time.
Yovany Paz
The views here are so nice relaxing, you can really have a nice walk and enjoy nature in the city its the best of both worlds.
Dulce Barajas
This park was beautiful, there were rabbits and there was a nice view where you can take pics of nature and the city!
Fuego Aloha
Most beautiful park its like getting lost in a jungle w/o actually being lost. Only thing I didn't like is a worker accused me of throwing cigar tobacco on the floor bc it was near my car rude bc I don't smoke. A lot of teens ditch here.
Dayahana aguirre
Beautiful park. Lovely views. Wonderful place for Pics. You just need to pay for the picture/filming permit. $50 for an hour for less then 10 people.
Suzanne Gross
A beautiful, seemingly natural setting, right in downtown LA. With 10 1/2 acres, its big enough so you don't feel too crowded in. A nicely maintained park. We loved spending time there.
Dina Figueroa
Is a great park love the view..but it needs more trash cans and bathroom attendance to clean and filled up the paper toiled and it needs some light
Pamela Chautla
Beautiful place. Very clean. Gives you a sense of nature and a great view of Downton LA.
Wil Lei
It's like a manicured oasis right near DTLA without the feeling of an urban park. There's a small parking area and the well-marked trails will lead you up the hill to several well-maintained picnic areas, open green space, and a quaint pond/waterfall and a children's play area. The place has not succumbed to hipster creep so it's mostly local families and couples at the moment. High up the hill, there's the single bench that overlooks DTLA. Don't expect privacy to snuggle with your significant other as EVERYONE goes to that bench. Otherwise, head higher up, bring your tripod and enjoy the view of the DTLA skyline at sunset.
Arie Azri
A small park to enjoy a morning walk right outside of DTLA. Park is clean and well kept and there are spots you can take great pictures of downtown LA.
Alfredo Herrera
I literally live down the street from here but it's a great park friendly an great view of the lost Angeles skyline
Queso Fresco
Small but beautiful park. Lots of trees and greenery. Perfect place to hang out read a book or walk your dog.
tino de la cruz
Fantastic fenomenal place love it
Amanda Fernandes
One of my favorite parks to picnic in LA - very scenic, peaceful and clean with a great view of the downtown skyline. There are also a few walking paths around the park to enjoy the nature. Very family friendly as well with a children's adventure area and bathrooms. There is street parking and a small parking lot as well. I also love getting food delivered here from busy restaurants in the area where parking is a challenge too. Definitely a hidden treasure in the busy city!
Christopher Fant
This park is a hidden gym in a busy city. I like to escape here and take images of the city. Very easy to get to and had decent parking. Just follow the trail up until you see the park benches.
Kelty Wakeley
Wonderful natural park with open grassy areas to relax. Close to DTLA with views of the city. Many birds frequent the park and it is dog friendly.
Yesenia Corado

It's a great park with a short trail around it. there is a designated parking area for the park but it could get full quick. Overall its maintained well but could use a few more benches.
Luce Cervantes
Beautiful place to visit. It's small and located somewhere unexpected but it's a really nice place. Hubby and I had a small picnic there and it was really relaxing
Jessica Ceballos
Great park. Seems small but enough shade and space to hang out or play a sport. Has a nice small trail to run or walks long.
jonathan figueroa
Very nice park, parking is very small you more than likely you will have to look for parking on the street.
Richard Recinos

most underrated park in LA with a great downtown skyline view. perfect for dates, instagram pics, or just a quiet place to hang out during the afternoon/early evening.
Geoffrey Holtsclaw
Cool place to walk around. A full loop of the park only takes about 10m, so bring something to do if you want to stay longer. Fantastic views of the city.
Miguel Arcilla
Wonderful place to relax. If you want to get the best view of the city, you better be there early because people will hog the bench to take pictures of it especially during sunset.
alisa christensen
Beautiful park top L corner of downtown LA, birds, critters, waterfall, nice hike, you feel like it's oot, but top of the hill, views of the city.
Anita Sanchez
My first time being at the park. Little play area for the kiddies. Just enjoyed it there. Has park like trail around the whole park to do some walking. Thanks that I'd enjoyed it most.
Liz Banuelos
This park has a beautiful view of the city. However, the park is really small and can easily be walked in less than half an hour. Besides that, it is a nice park with a beautiful view.
BCKay
This place is EXTREMLY BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I actually never knew there was a place like this so close to LA, and the VIEW OMG SO AWESOME xD
I wish I had my Camera at the time, I would have taken a picture....more like pictures...the only problem for me is its a bit confusing, like when your outside, all u see is a like a small playground, but once you walk in, its like being transported to somewhere Relaxing soothing and what not. Im actually gonna visit again and just relax in here. Perfect place for Pictures, Relaxing, Soccer, Football, Photo Shoots, a picnic and other stuff I havent said.
Fox Dawnstar
This is an okay place I just didn't like the fact that there's so many families running around not watching their kids as their kids throw things and run into you and stuff
