Reviews of Grand Park
I found this place to be a good stopover while working around downtown LA!
Grand Park is a wide open urban park, good for taking in prepared food to eat, joining co-workers for a break and join friends for a game of soccer. It’s also a good area for festival style concerts and shows! There’s interesting displays of flags and there’s a tribute memorial honoring the military services that have served our country!
There’s a covered area with chairs and tables and a well maintained restroom.
Grand Park is next to the famous LA City Hall.
The park is easily accessible on foot for those who work in the area, as well as attendees to local functions, events and commitments.
While Grand Park is free to use, area parking will be expensive for any length of stay. So a stop off just to use the park may have be considered, if to justify the expense!
Lastly, the ongoing plantings of arid tolerant gardening is appreciated!
I would’ve liked to have seen more tree shade and naturalness amongst the neatly sectioned spaces. Tho I guess it goes with the territory of limited urban space here and the tradeoff of not having hiding places for vagrants, with whom this park seems to be freed of. I felt sad for those who were displaced, although mindful of my visitors concerns of going here.
I'm guessing people who work downtown use this multi-level park to take a break from the office or for lunch. The park has a great view of City Hall and it's set up like no other city park I've stumbled upon. It has multi-levels that are divided by city streets. You walk up the stairs, cross the street and then walk into another section of the park. This continues until the top section where there's a nice fountain. Great spot for photos with the fountain and City Hall looming overhead. There's also a Metro station right between the sections. Lots of green areas to sit in. Not too crowded. Cool city park. It was such a great time there with my kids and husband.
Expansive and beautiful park in downtown LA, lots of space that allows plenty of light in even surrounded by larger buildings. Has fountains and kids play areas, wonderful assortment of trees and plants on display. Interesting vertical design as it's built along a hill, creating a series of tiers. Very close to the Walt Disney concert hall
Grand Park is a perfect model for what a park in the middle of a city should be. It has something for everyone, from fountain to playgrounds to picnic spots to Starbucks, and is surprisingly peaceful for it's location. And, the view of city hall from the fountains is beautiful
Went here for Pokemon Go Community Day. Lovely park, the fountain was very peaceful. Lots of people out playing and enjoying a beautiful spring day. I will definitely be returning. It's close to a lot of tasty food so good for a picnic.
Best Fourth of July on record. Everyone was harmonizing in peace and vibing together. The fireworks show was being done with awesome music in the background and the crowd of at least 30,000 people left in an orderly fashion without incident. Traffic jams were non existent and free parking on the street.
Cleaner than what it used to be. Great spot to take a walk and spend a nice afternoon, great for kids. Saw few homeless people around. Looks like city is doing a great job keeping the place clean.
Gorgeous park area. We came for the Pokémon Go community day, and enjoyed the views. Lots of places to sit, and plenty of shade.
Beautiful gem in the middle of LA. The vegetation here is stunning and there is such a wide range of trees, shrubs, and succulents; especially pretty to those from different climates (ie. Canada since we don’t have succulents or palm trees!).
The Great Park is very nice, the fountains that the park has are beautiful. You can come to spend the afternoon and a pleasant night, hey have a coffee stand to. You can also see the tower of the mayor's office from afar.
Located ideally at the heart of LA, California is a beautiful place always decorated for various events to attract visitors.
I must say, with the disastrous homeless issue in Los Angeles, and with rising numbers annually even though we paid Garcetti 1.2 billion dollars to fix the homeless issue they managed to keep this park nice and clean.
Such a relaxed space to enjoy a sunset from! Lots of events are organized for the public for free as well.
My kids love playing in the fountains and at the playground at the Grand Park!! We have been going here since they were toddlers. It is nice because there is also a Starbucks right next to the fountains. It makes it convenient to buy snack etc. The only challenge is finding parking. I usually can find metered parking and walk there. There is a metro stop that is right near the park.
Enormous park located on Los Angeles downtown. Here is the place for work, like court and city hall, and rest after busy morning or work. Various plants and flowers grew beside endless lawn.
Love this park. Especially enjoy when the park has special set ups during certain holidays and my lil one enjoys splashing in the water. It's a very beautiful place for a walk or working out and I love to have picnics here and see all the cute pets being walked around. It's very near little Tokyo, City Hall and a short walk from Grand Central Market, Angel's flight and other LA hot spots.
I had a blast at DTLA Proud festival and my first time at Grand Park. The police presence is quite overwhelming on the daily but thankfully for the event they seemed less prevalent.
I do wish this atmosphere of acceptance and community was at the park 365 days a year
I recently visited Grand Park and was thoroughly impressed by its beauty and tranquility. The park boasts lush green lawns, well-maintained walking paths, and a variety of scenic landscapes, from peaceful lakes to blooming flower gardens. The atmosphere was peaceful, making it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The park is also equipped with modern amenities such as picnic areas, playgrounds, and benches, making it a great place to spend time with family and friends. Overall, I highly recommend Grand Park to anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic outdoor escape.
GREAT PARK IN THE HEART OF L.A, NEAR DOWNTOWN
SAFE, FRIENDLY , CLEAN AND GREAT BENCHES AND TREES
This is an awe-inspiring place to go. Amazing that it's right down the street from skid-row but one would never know it. Whether you visit during the day or after sun down this place is vibrant and beautiful. Great for the kids or an intimate couples picnic! ENJOY!!
Pretty small place and not clean at all. Good for a small office break if you work around here
Stopped by after walking for a few minutes on a hot day. Great location to top sites in LA. Perfect for a picnic. There are bathrooms/water + a splash area for children to play in. There’s a stage for live performances, plenty of shade & trees, and grass. There’s also a Starbucks with outdoor tables right there.
A well kept, clean park spanning 3 blocks from the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion to the LA City Hall.
The park is a nice green break in the middle of an otherwise concrete city. There are nice areas with plenty of trees, garden beds and grassy areas to sit and enjoy coffee, food or read a book.
There are a few homeless people around, however they are well behaved and non threatening. This is a safe area.
beautiful park but a lot of homeless people there
Cozy park, just chill and filling relax. I want to recommend this place for family and old people
Came to the UAI Pow Wow at Grand Park. Amazing native vendors, beautiful dancers.
Waited an hr for Lucy Hale's Indian Tacos & Frybread. 🙌 worth the wait!!!....a must try!!!! …
A beautiful space in the middle of dtla. Open and clean public bathrooms. A few feral cats roam the bushes. The fountain serves as visual art and a splash pad. Surrounded by government buildings. A very unique set up. Starbucks on site with shorter operating hours. A lot of city and county public events are held here. Parking is difficult. I usually park a few blocks away at Pershing Square (underground) or at the theaters parking structures. Public transit friendly with bus and underground trains passing regularly.
While passing by to go to our parked car I seen this beautiful big body of water with spouts of water shooting out. Color changing lights to make it catch your attention.
The best part about this fountain in the park is that you could walk on water.
On 06/24/2021, walked through the Grand Park and see a magnificent waterfall fountain. Walked to the Walt Disney Concert Hall just across the street, two Covid-19 vaccines were provided for free. After walking a few steps, many volunteers wearing red T-shirts were ready for help, and the big bus parked on the left as a vaccine clinic is ready for anyone to get a shot.
You can see a $1 billion The Grand LA is being built.
Thank the Los Angeles County and City Government for providing a convenient service platform for angelenos to receive the vaccinate. Compilmentary coffee from Starbucks and lunch are provided, plus a few gifts.
Such a fun and great place We had a ball. The water isn't high at all, for safety measures of a kid, I will recommend you try out the greatness we all as family enjoyed.😇 …
I had Never been here Before. I came today because my Son Loves WATER so I Decided to Get Off the 🛋️🛋️ Couch stop watching the Green Bay Game. And Take him out On a Father and Son Sunday. Here's Some Pic's... I have to Say it's Very peaceful here and Nostalgic in a way... I Recommend you to Come by you Won't regret it. I parked in front of the Superior court on Figueroa $10 All day till Midnight...
Nice park to catch some sun and Starbucks if you work in the area or have to attend jury duty. They have a water fountain where kids can play on hot days but is currently under construction. The continuing issue is the homeless problem that is present.
I would like to recommend State Farm Insurance to my family and friends. I have had State Farm for many years now. One thing that I also recommend is having insurance for your jewelry. I’ve had insurance on my wedding ring just incase I ever lost it. Never did I ever think that the diamond would fall off. Well the diamond fell off after 12 yrs. I was thinking a couple weeks before I lost my diamond to cancel my insurance on my ring and thank God I didn’t. When I notice my ring without the diamond, I immediately called Ana Urita to notified her, she then forward my call to claims and they gave me instructions of what had to be done and advised me how much my diamond was worth. I received my money and was able to replace my diamond and have my ring back.
Harold Washington Library is right down town near ,millennium park is right along lakeshore drive always a beautiful scene Chicago is Grand Park location.
Very nice park located in downtown Los Angeles between Los Angeles City Hall and Los Angeles Music Center..The park have performance areas, beautiful fountains, kiosks...
Grand Park is a 12-acre (4.9 ha) park located in the civic center of Los Angeles, California. ... Grand Park stretches between the Los Angeles City Hall and the Los Angeles Music Center on Grand Avenue. It is designed to be pedestrian friendly and connects Bunker Hill to the civic center.
Location: Civic Center, Los Angeles, California, United States
Area: 12 acres (4.9 ha)
Designer: Rios Clementi Hale Studios
Created: 2012
Great place to spend the afternoon! It’s got abundant seating area and has a peaceful atmosphere. It’s well kept and having the Starbucks nearby makes it for a good place for hanging out or just spending time.
This is a very nice place to walk around with friends only when there are no strikes around :) The Grand Park is cool for real, with water fountain and some places to sit. Grab a coffee and just enjoy your time here.
November 1, 2022 Day of the Dead altars. My first time going and it was nice and emotional. Yet, I think that need it more altars for our community to see more of the culture and to remember all those people that had die in war, covid ,cancer ,aids, abused and racism. Just a reminder of all those people not forgotten by families and friends . I hope that with the years to come we also see other ethnicity to share there pictures or altars of there love ones.
Downtown LA has lots of great architecture and public spaces. Grand Park is one of those spots. Definitely worth a visit. Right next to the Disney, the Chandler and the Amanson theaters. Couple of restaurants and of course, the ubiquitous Starbucks.
Nice place to chill and watch the world pass by. Campaigning groups setting up on a Saturday morning, all good natured. Live music too. Great for people watching.
A big park in between LA downtown in-front of City Hall downtown. Park is awesome with kid area, tracking and jogging tracks, fountain, metro transit station, Starbucks for coffee and snacks, sitting area in park with benches and chair table, good lawns, surrounded small plants and some big trees on the boundary. Awesome thing is whole park is divided into 3 parts and height increases when we going 1 to 3. Lots of colored plants and flowers. Good for relax, exercise, tracking, walk, drink coffee. Connected to the board, disney music concert hall, city hall, district civil court, library.
It was open on December 30th 2020. We went at night. I was trying to take pictures and had 2 security guards come up and tell me no tripods allowed. Tripods are basically required in order to get night shots on DSLR cameras. For that reason I give it 4 stars. Otherwise it is a great place to be.
The no tripod rule seems ridiculous...
This is a wonderful spacious park in the Civic Center section of DTLA. It runs right through the center of 4 city blocks between 1st and Temple from Main to Grand.
World famous City Hall (in too many Hollywood movies to list) is at one end, the Music Center and Disney Hall at the other. Statuary, grass, walkways, fountains, a kids playground and lots of stairs (with ramps too). Underground parking too.
Events are happening all year long.
12/3/2018 Winter Glow, a nighttime art light show from 12/1 - 12/25. I added a few videos and photos.
Really nice park facilities in the middle of LA. Wonderful setup for NYE party. Kids were bored, but it was good weather and a nice night out. Food truck setup was great, just needed more places to sit or squat to eat.
Would like to return and enjoy the park on a normal day. I’m sure it is fantastic.
A woman demonstrated great leadership.
This is where Los Angeles celebrates. From New Years Eve to the 4th of July this where we gather and have fun. Beautiful area with a signature fountain.
It's been referred to as Los Angeles'Central Park. It's beautiful and well-maintained. this is a great place if you're a local or tourist to come and see. And you get to look at the iconic Los Angeles City Hall.
Attended a Pokémon Community Day here and enjoyed the city.
Visited on a Saturday afternoon. There was no one here at all so I was able to roam around and take pictures of City Hall. They usually have events here but I guess not this weekend. Overall a peaceful place to visit in this Urban jungle.
Great park just in front of the townhall, with public restrooms and a metro station in the middle. There are a lot of benches all around with trees giving some shade. It is a great place to take a break and rest for a while.
we loved this place the fountains the park and everything. place was neat and clean. Kids play area had a great slide but was closed for improvements. the city hall right acorss. great place for selfies. get your feet wet in the fountains.
Definately a park to visit and take in the beauty of Los Angeles attractions. Sucks that you see homelessness near but we did notice securities. A park that is utilized for the community for events through out the year. I recommend visiting the parks or cities website for more information. There is a kids playground across from The City Hall building whether you have young children like myself.
A very nice place to visit in the middle of downtown. There is a very convenient metro station in the middle of the park, which makes it very easy to get there. A nice place to enjoy a cup of coffee and enjoy the fountain. There are small containers with books inside which you could take and read. And then it is encouraged that you give a book back to it. This shows the community of the place and how much downtown has changed. I would recommend that if you are in downtown to visit this park.
Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles is a great place to walk or visit after visiting one of the many restaurants or theatres nearby!
They also feature a beautiful fountain and is adjacent to Los Angeles City Hall,The Walt Disney Concert Hall,The Ahmanson Theatre and Dorothy Chandler Pavillion. During the holidays Grand Park is festival decorated and makes for great pictures and 'Grand!

Beautiful Park , during the day or at night , the waterfalls are just beautiful , the park has small chairs and tables , and the grass to sit , relax , have lunch or just be there and enjoy. Kids can play in the water during summer, or hot days.
We visited. It was. Fun
I've been in l.a. for over a year and have never visited Grand Park. it was nice. clean. safe. the lights were pretty. pet friendly. I'll be looking into more attractions in this area.
B Boy Summit 2022. The Pharcyde, DJ Battlecat, Psycho Les.
A quasi hidden gem hidden amongst the hustling bustling, ever changing cityscape. It's perfectly situated and in its own way, it's kinda majestic. The downtrodden as well as the uptrodden kick back there and the area was clean and well-maintained.
Great place to come hang out get wet read a book. It feels safe there's security actually Sheriff's constantly passing by making sure everything is good. There's a Starbucks so you can get a drink restrooms are close by always clean fully stocked. You won't regret coming here especially on this hot weather
Great downtown community space for friends, family, kids and adults.
Homeless Resiurce Fair was a Nice event in a nice part of downtown with beautiful views. I enjoyed the face to face interaction with our neighborhood councils. Also, there is a Starbucks there! Win win!
Since I've been in Los Angeles, I've been to Grand Park several times for different events! This was the 3rd Annual Los Angeles City NAIC Pow Wow! It was a perfectly beautiful day and the event was well organized!
Good place to spend time with friends and to see night seeing
Cute little place with some grass area where people mostly lay down.
The main attraction is the splash pad, great for younger kids
Grand Park was amazing. We were able to attend an event called BBoy Summit and there were so many fun things to do there. The outdoor fountain is amazing and beautiful not to mention super nice to get you cooled down on a hot summer day. The dancing event was so fun to watch! Kudos to Grand Park for allowing such an amazing cultural event at there amazing park!
Last night some friends and I journeyed from Orange County to participate in the Dance DTLA salsa event. It started at 7 and continued until 11.
I went earlier on the Metrolink. It's sooo easy to do this and just $10 including transfers to metro and bus lines. What a deal!!! But I digress.
The venue is beautiful with wide lawns, including an area designated as the dance area. It's decorated with paper lanterns and lights hanging above the dance area. Beautiful!! They did a dance lesson (VERY basic) at the beginning and again when the band was on a break. Genius! Late comers get to have a lesson, too.
The band was GREAT! I think their name is San Miguel, but I'm not sure. It's a full band with vocalists, horns, two drummers and a conguero. They got people up on their feet throughout the concert.
Beyond the music and dancing, they had food trucks, a bar, a free bag check, plenty of porta potties and a playground for the kids. They also had a Macy's tent where they're we're doing free makeup and a tent doing voter registration.
Visited for July 4th event. Place was very lively. DJ was the best. Fireworks and songs were well planned.
I liked how they arranged these little stations for promotions and beer and the compost restrooms.
Well organized.
Grand Park has a unique garden self-guided tour, and great views of City Hall. Just west of Grand Park is the Music Center complex.
Great grassy large park. In Downtown Los Angeles! Lots tress, & Big colorful fountain..Kids play there in summer.its also across street from the Music Center There's Security guards 💂♂️ there. Also. So hardly ever see Homeless there. Security escorts them out. So its very safe and at night. Highly recommend …
I discovered this place while I was doing my jury duty a few years ago. Kind of like it with the big water fountain. Now that I went back with my toddler seems to be a more fun place. He had a great time running around the fountain. Parking is near by but a bit pricey...you can get a coffee right next to it and they have chairs and tables to sit at it.
Even though it looks sus at night there's plenty of light around to feel somewhat safe :p
Very awesome.. I found a huge bag of ganja.. thank you for whoever lost it.. 😎😇💩💨☠️🔥 …
Nice park except for the homeless. Went to see the Dia de los muertos alters. Very beautiful !
The metro journey was a real experience just before midnight from Santa Monica. The fireworks were nice and pleasant. Different contrast in the day time
Lovely park at the center of L.A., clean fountains, almost empty and peaceful during mid week, not a lot of shade.
Great City Hall views on one side plus the museums and halls up after the fountain.
Very well taken care of for a public park in LA. It's a welcoming place to sit and relax for weary travelers.
Marvel and awesome thank you LA, keep the excellent work,we love Los Angeles eternal life with respect to the government agencies and the buildings that are full of workers either government or private businesses,we love you.beautiful City downtown Grand Park my life with you to come to see the city Mayer and his team no matter who are or staying under the same Mayer and his team,, I hope there will be a debate between the new running for the office Mayer and the current Mayer and his team. I love Los Angeles no matter what,, I can tolerate the trash and outside dirt but I also think it's necessary to have the best city working with honesty integrity and faithlessness to get the job done.
Thank God for that bless LA city and county and bless America.
I compare this lonely but lovely day to the New Years Eve at Grand Park and I wonder where are you all... ?
Lots of homeless just loitering around. One man kept yelling like a yeti . But the park was clean and mom enjoyed soaking up the sun
Modern and beautifully maintained park in DTLA. The water features are so peaceful to watch and listen to. It's close to the Metro and there's a Starbucks if you're thirsty. Great views of the City Hall and there's a dog park at the bottom (I love to watch dog parks). Didn't find homeless a huge problem, maybe saw a couple but none were causing any trouble or made us feel uncomfortable. Even though there's plenty of trash bins, there was some litter in the park, which is sad to see. Definitely visit if you're in Downtown L.A. though!
Beatiful Park, clean and not many homeless. Not too busy though.
It's a park. On Grand with a lot of activities. Most if not all free.
It's conveniently located directly across the street from Metro Civic Center subway stop, between the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration and the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. It's a nice place to eat lunch and watch the children play. They have a lot of events, concerts in the park, and even morning yoga. In honor of LA County Fair, they hosted a one day "Pop Up Fair" a couple of weeks ago, that was completely free to the public. If you get hungry, they have a variety of food truck vendors, Tuesdays thru Thursdays, and a Starbucks on site.
Calm and quiet today. I gave a couple of people some chicken nuggets who looked like they were hungry. Just because someone has nowhere to live at the moment does not mean they are lower then anyone. I feel they are stronger then most people, they are Amazing, and Beautiful. Don't JUDGE YOU HAVE NOT WALKED IN THEIR SHOES FOR A DAY , I BET MOST PEOPLE WOULDN'T LAST 1/2 OF A DAY IN THE UNHOUSED WORLD.It is so easy to help a homeless person out and it won't cost you a penny. Stop and say hello ask how they are doing maybe they need to vent . I have been on the streets feeling so alone and down and all it took was for a stranger to look at me and smile it would make me feel strong like I was somebody. PLEASE TAKE TIME TO MAKE UNHOUSED PEOPLE FEEL LIKE THEY ARE SOMEBODY AGAIN.
Calm, spacious and relaxing setting. Great place to pick up a drink at Starbucks (on site) and sit by the soothing sound of the majestic multi layer fountain. Only down side is the parking but other than that, great place to visit.
Very nice swath of open space, seating, lawns, trees, and views of LA (and a starbucks to top it all off!). Convenient location to the Music Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Ahmanson, City Hall, you name it! Also well-maintained compared to some of the other parks in the Greater LA area, nice area to spend time with family while going to events. The New Year's event was really cool!
Lots of great evens happen here. Not too busy. Dead on weekends, but more and more events and restaurants are really bringing to life this beautiful park.
Chill place with a Starbucks. You can get barefoot and get some water on your feet on the lower fountains. Lots of greenery and great place overall!!
Lovely landscaping. Clean bathrooms. Reasonable event parking prices.
Went for New Year party. It was so much fun! Tons of food trucks, music and amazing displays. We will be back next year.
Was very good for me
Grand Park is a nice open space in downtown LA. I visited during holiday season when they showcase night lights. This is free for public to visit. Red line train stop is steps away from playground for the mids to enjoy.
Never been to this park during broad light but visited it twice during last 2 New Year’s Eve for NYELA celebrations.
The lightings were superb and so was the music. I might not be the person to vouch for it but if you don’t have any other plans for the New Year’s Eve then you should try and visit the Grand Park celebrations
When you want to take a break from the city; this is the place to be. The park is nice. You get to sit on these large pink chairs and if you get thirsty or hungry; there's a starbucks located inside the park.
The best park in Los Angeles. To get to this park get down at Civic Center Metro Station. Once you exit you can see Grand Park. This is well maintained and so clean. There are 2 good fountains in this park. There is security in this park and if you are coming by Car, there is allotted parking area near by. Visit once and you will never regret. There is also Starbucks counter in this park. Walt Disney Concert Hall and The Broad are near to this park.
4th of July fun, great Fountain.
First time at Grand Park and I love my daughter sweet 16 pictures.
I took my daughter because she loves the fireworks. The crowd was gigantic and the mood was 🎉 Partayyy 🎆😁💃🏿. The food lines were sooooooo looooong so we'll bring sum snacks next time. We waited over an hour for our food and the taco/ hot dog truck wasn't good.
However, there was a lady selling Horchata with fresh strawberry slices and coconut rimmed cups that was delicious 😋
The fireworks were nice and the music 🎶 was bumpn 🤗❤
I liked this place, it's so diversatal and always clean . One thing missing is an info Booth. They used to rip off some good music
I wish they had better grass but overall Grands Park has awesome events. Especially the new Year party!
Enjoyed some leisure at this park after a big breakfast. It stretches pretty far back so make sure to walk all of it.
Great place for kids! Lots of shade and places to sit. Clean restrooms.

Awesome park right next to city hall. Clean and fancy with big fountain. Relaxing is just perfect!
Great place to think, contemplate and relax, I used to come here often, for that reason
Nice to walk around, quiet and it has a small Starbucks too. Within walking distance to Little Tokyo.
It's really nice in the fall. Clean and open with nice colors. There are some very full looking succulents. The park benches and accessories were all pink when I was here, I don't know if that's a changing theme or a stagnant one.
Nice walk around..and place to have a snack or coffee...
It's a cute spot for the kids to run around in. It can get packed, but what place doesn't. Lots of seating, and shade under trees.
Was there on Christmas day and the park was a nice and pleasent place to be at that time. Easy to get to.
The place has clean public comfort rooms. I really enjoyed their Valentine’s day event. It has a near Starbucks so I can grab a quick coffee and relax. The place is huge and perfect for family bonding.
Wonderful mix of hard and landscape but wish there was more green. A nice walk or run through grand park is always calming in the city.
Grand Park is a great addition to Downtown Los Angeles. In the middle of the Civic Center it's a nice place for a morning walk or run, a good place to enjoy the sunshine at lunch, and the city has been encouraging to entertainment events in the park more and more. The art installations are fun, there is decent parking underground, and hey- there's a Starbucks for when you need a pick-me-up.
Construction on Grand Park began in 2010 and carries a price tag of $56 million.[11] The park was paid for by $50 million from Related Companies, the developer planning the nearby building projects as part of the Grand Avenue Project. The park was supposed to be part of a later phase of a $775-million Frank Gehry-designed mixed-use development. But that changed when the Great Recession struck, undermining the condominium sales market that was a bedrock of the overall plan.[9] Other phases of the project remained stalled amid the recession, but the park moved forward thanks to a special agreement between the joint powers authority overseeing the project and its developer.
Surely but slowly he toes remind me of Fritos 🤗 just joking& but it' is Lovely on all Levels... Pun intended. …
Great experience every year, every holiday, everytime. So quiet and relaxing in the evening.
Our family visited Grand Park for the first time yesterday and were so excited to come back for more ! They have a big fountain and *splash pad* for the kids. It's going to be a real winner for us in the summer. A Starbucks coffee shop right in front. Bathrooms located conveniently. Lots of seating and shade. And if you walk to the other end of the park theres an actual kids park. Its gated so you dont have to worry about your child wandering off. Lots of kids play there so your kid will be sure to find someone there their age.
Nice place with a lot of activities you can enjoy regularly: Concerts, exhibitions, popular parties...
Awesome and relaxing place in the middle of downtown. Also great spot for a Starbucks.
It is a great park, with an awesome view of LA city hall.we Went there for the New Year's Eve Celebration! Went with friendsfrom my apartment building had a good time! We had fun!, and dance and took pictures!
Great places to visit, horrible parking. Wear comfy shoes for the walk. Took my mother in law she liked it, and she's hates everything! She had a lot of space to run. She was a lot more peaceful. A big change from her nit picking.
I always liked coming to Grand park. I jog to the park on nice sunny breezy days. The park is quaint and right in the middle of downtown. They have small concerts happening on the weekends and sometimes have food trucks. Since it's almost Christmas they have a bunch of Christmas decorations out and a large metal tree that lights up when you visit after the sun goes down. They also have a light up fountain that's very pretty at night. Good opportunity for a photo session. Just make sure not to stay past midnight otherwise security will roll up and tell you that the park is closed.
Nicely lit at night; nicely populated during the week days. Very clean and patrolled regularly.
Very beautiful area of LA, I was surprised it was not crowded, visited this place on 11/2 (Dia de Muertos)
Nice for the entire family to see during the holidays. Take the train!!! Parking is scarce. Train lets you off right there.
Come out here every now and then. Tonight the Getty and some other sponsors threw a free party featuring Quantic!!!! There's a permanent Starbucks, so got my Flat White. There were food trucks of the Pan Latino variety....and a bar. Parked for $6 a short walk away. Check your Facebook feed. You might get lucky! I did!
The above post is being edited, in that today, January 20, 2018, Grand Park proves to be the most democratic space in Los Angeles, hosting the second Women's March with at least half a million turning out to represent. Great city planning. Brava!
This place is beautiful to relax, all the work improvements LA city has done makes it a truly oasis in downtown, come and see the amazing water fountain
Super spacious and beautiful.
Right across the street from city hall.
I saw kids enjoying themselves, definitely a kid friendly location.
Just avoid the tent people.
Enter through Broadway.
Nice water fountain feature. There's Starbucks next to the fountain. Next to Starbucks, there's a public restroom. Surprisingly, very clean. It felt almost like hotel bathroom. I mean, all I am saying is that the restroom was better than expected.
Grand Park is a great place to go for a stroll on a nice day! The fountain features an area where you can take off your shoes and get your feet wet. There is plenty of grassy space to hangout. A Starbucks stands right next to the fountain if you're looking for a quick fix of caffeine.
Since it has been so hot this days , I love taking my one year old boy to this park. I just to go when I was pregnant. He enjoys playing with the water and getting wet. Also Such nice place for adults to sit and talk or to have luch or a starbucks coffee. You see young people go there and take pictures.
1st time visiting for 4th of July and it was the best. Music, food and lots of free vendor sponsors goodies! Fireworks were great! Shout out to KCRW djs for good vibes all day!
Spent my NYE at Grand Park, recently moved to LA and boy was this one poppin' public event, LA knows how to party; I'm very happy to be a part of this community.
Love coming here at night. There's a few fountains that you can walk around.. great view of city hall.. clean and well maintained paths. I love walking my dog here in the evening .
Basic park next to courthouse. A couple small memorials.
Excellent park. This park is so clean and friendly environment.
The park is spacious, conveniently located, and I appreciate the programs and events that occur throughout the year. Grand Park is a downtown L.A. gem! 😎👍 …
Unique display of American flags depicting the fighting spirit and history of our country. Ideal place to visit before the 4th of July.
We had a picnic there for this years summer campers. I use to take them to the water park but now the water is so low they don’t enjoy it as much. Kids 0-5 perfect!
Beautiful Park, nice lunch and sitting area.
Great park in Dtla near courthouse and Disney concert hall. Water feature with gradual depth like endless pools
The park was well-prepared. Nearly 2,000 people were there, choosing FREEDOM and choice over mandates. Prayer and the Star Spangled Banner got the rally started. Many speakers revealed their science, and stories about family members severe reactions to COVID vaccines, death also, and no one is taking responsibility, nor helping the families with these severe reactions to a "Mandated" vaccine. Nobody is allowed to see the research for 75 years??? All were civil, and respectful mostly.
Great place to relax, enjoy concert, picnic, good lighting at night. There are no public bathrooms
Starbucks located here.
Fountain lit up.
Very peaceful place
Grand Park is a delightful place to have a sit or a stroll. Plenty of benches and shade, a nice fountain for the kiddos to play in, and it's in a good spot within walking distance to the city's cultural center, The Broad, MOCA, and Disney Concert Hall.
I have never been during a concert, but there is a stage for performances they run during the Summer, so take my comment considering that.
There are a few stray cats on the premises but honestly they don't bother anyone and are scared of people. I wish I could pet them sometimes, but they keep to themselves. I've never seen more than three, so they aren't overwhelming the park by any stretch.
The security guards at each parking garage gate are friendly, often waving as I stroll by.
Oh yeah, and there's a Starbucks right in the middle of it, if you're feeling hungry or thirsty.
Great place to walk your dog.
Just be aware as there are sketchy people around.
There was the Aids March in Grand Park. I attended and had fun. Plenty of upcoming events I'll be attending. Plenty of fun
When it's a nice weather, just walk around this part with fountains and stairs and see buildings and just enjoy. Fantastic and quality joy.
Great place to welcome the new year. There are many people and food tracks. Hard to park, need to be prepared.
Park right in the middle of the downtown and right opposite the city hall .. the park is setup in a form of three steps and each step is section of the park ..you could see a lot of food trucks parked here and lot of legal bureaucrat as it is surrounded by courts
A gem in DTLA which is park starved. Pretty small with a number of large streets breaking it up, but creative use of the space with some killer views. No great parking options.
Great 4th of July block party!! With exception of that rude cop who got in my face because I was apparently not supposed to be near the k9 while he searched a dummy vehicle, how am I supposed to know???
PUT A SIGN UP OFFICER!!
Grand Park is Awesome. With a variety of year round events that are chill to straight up "humm diggty". One of the best reasons why I moved to DTLA.
It's quite a lovely place to spend the evening. The open park and the fountain is an absolute delight
Such a fun place for the kiddos during summer days 🌝☀️ …
It's a nice place to visit and take a break from the activity in DTLA. There are food trucks, a Starbucks, several tables and benches to sit and eat, as well as free wifi connection if you need it.
Grand park is surprisingly big but it was very lovely having a convenient Starbucks and food truck but the best part is that it is in downtown so you can easily get food or other things relatively close
Great time for the 4th of July!
Good place to spend your time at night time. They also have Starbucks in the park .
Beautiful & Peaceful! Today was PupFest! Dogs in the Park! Fun event!
It was amazing. The energy from the protesters demanding police reform was intense. Facing City Hall, the park was the perfect spot to voice grievances to the government.
I went for a festival and I had a great time and they had a concert Ferris wheel and everything had a wonderful time there was a good friend of mine great music great area do you have events there and the building they're so awesome
A great open area, with a sweet fountain and a water walkway kids can play in. The people at the Starbucks were super friendly and the food truck that showed up had scrumptious food to offer.
I love this place! It's near my office and I come here almost every day of the week after work...on my daily walk.
This place is very relaxing & therapeutic especially after a stressful day at work.
Great place to just hang out and people watch, relax and have a great time
Nice, newer park. It's mostly clean, and every now and again it hosts events.
I work next door and is always nice to step out and sit on the grass for a while. It's a little oasis in the middle of our DTLA concrete jungle. Below the big fountain there is a shallow pool, like two inches deep. Take your shoes off and bring the kids to play in the water! (Bring the kids and then take your shoes off lol).
A great tiered park in downtown LA with open lawns and space for kids (and adults) to run around. The park as an events lawn across the street from the courthouse and a built-in concert stage up the hill to finally a water fountain complete with a splash pad for the kiddos. It's a nice scenic place to relax or enjoy a break to let your kids cool off. However, as with most of LA, there is a homeless population that you need to be aware of, especially with kids.
Cool place to hang out on a hit summer day with cool views and an even cooler fountain. Starbucks by the fountain sipping a frappe while kids play in the water is something you don't forget.
I have always loved Grand Park. Rich in culture and good people.
Awesome place to walk in the middle of the city. Beautiful landscape and great views.
The Park is fantastic! A much needed amenity for the downtown area.
An clean and we'll kept oasis in the centre of downtown LA. Great place to cool off in the fountains. Drinks and snacks available from the nearby... yep you got it Starbucks!
Grand Park is a nice place to go to picnics and much more.
Very nice Park in DTLA with a perfect view on the City Hall.
Really small park, but cute.
Nice park in the middle of downtown. I can see the draw there.
It's a nice park with lot's of chairs an tables, to take a rest. The fountain is nice, and there is a starbucks next to it. The fountain is accessable for children to play in the water.
There are great water fountains (for viewing) here. It's very clean and has a great view. Overall, I had a great experience here.
Kool, green spot to chill with my puppies. Park is always clean and quiet enough to relax for a little bit. Perfect antidote to the rushed city life.
I think it's great, that there are some many events happening each weekend this summer! Afro funk & Disco night
We were there for the NYELA and it was fun. Many food trucks to choose from.
Visited on July 4. Amazing food trucks n fireworks show!
I will not add anything new to what has been already said: nice atmosphere where you can sit, have a cup of coffee, enjoy the music if there is some event. Good place:)
Beautiful park. Kind of weird without any people but I'm not complaining.
Multi-block park. Should be better known. Here are some Day-of-the-Dead pictures from earlier this week.
Awesome place to hang out during the summer.
Great place to be! Very well architected park.
A nice place in Downtown to sit and relax.
Good atmosphere, beautiful fountain and awesome music being played for food bowl till 31st May 2018
I love ❤ Grand Park!!! One reason I can get my Starbucks coffee ☕ 😋 here & a snack, next I find place to sit with coffee ☕ then I listen 🎶 to music or news while I relax 😌 ahhh; come you might enjoy the park. …
Great place to enjoy a real nice park their are gairds very safe i seen a art show their
A greatGrand park Downtown Los Angeles from infront of CityHall west side stair side on spring Ave to Grand Ave .
Nice scenery if you like looking at homeless people all day long begging for change.
Perfect little venue the stage set was perfect. You don't have to walk far to get to anything. It's a cute spot nestled right in the middle of everything.
Went during the night market event, it was really nice.
It's a good place to go to especially if you're into parks
Great venue overall, just wish there were dedicated free parking available.
Very entertaining events. The park is a nice place to rest .
Nice and quite park. Great views to take pictures of City Hall or just sit and enjoy the fountains. Definitely come and see.
Really large park with nice views of the LA city hall.
My favorite City Park. Transit adjacent, green, (relatively) quiet, but also a great place for events like the dinner dance series.
Beautiful city center park near Los Angeles city hall
Great park spanning a couple blocks. Parking is tough though.
The best rally ever, very exciting to be with so many Los Angeles teachers, parents , and students.
Awesome location for family fun, concerts, or a lunch in the park. The city and county do a great job of maintaining the place. There is even a play area for your furry friends. Weekends you can catch live shows on the Grand Park stage. Lota of lights, police officers and security to keep you safe, even at night.
Such a great place for everyone to gather and enjoy great music, yummy food, friendships and much more!!
You can go im a part of the water fountain and it good if you just what to relax
Spent the new year at NYELA enjoyed the DJ's but not the live bands. Was a great evening will do again
A nice and stylish place with a good view from the top. But not a park. There is more concrete than plants, grass or any kind of open space.
It was beautiful, yesterday I went to the Festival Del Mole.
Very nice visuals and atmosphere, sometimes you forget that you're in the heart of Los Angeles while visiting here. Lots of events that used to go on here. Very clean park with little to no homeless. Friendly people and tons of stray cats that are nice to see .
Nice park, cool Water fountains. Great place to eat lunch.
This place was nice, very great for the new year countdown!!! It was an awesome cool experience
Great place to relax in the middle of DTLA.
Nice place and atmosphere. I love this area.
Good place to play, have restrooms, but some homeless is aggressive
It's okay.....I was just there waiting to catch an Uber, it wasn't nasty or dirty.
I'm single man seeking a husband or sugar daddy anyways I live here in downtown Los Angeles California East 5th Street and I love my life
Great place for protests, demonstrations, celebrations, concerts, and picnics.
Cleanest place in L.A. and has a little water park too
Great place to spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon! 😎✌ …
I saw only the fountain it’s look good with night view
It is nice but I expected it to be bigger and with more green.
We love this park😍especially my baby👶🏻 …
We were waiting for bus here when we decided to go to this park.
I love this place Especially during morning.
Energy of LA.
Nice park with a Starbucks, apart from watching kids playing in the fountain, not much else to do, it needs a walking trail.
Live music and games (giant connect four and bean bag toss)
Grand Park, lets put it this way ladies and Gentlemen when the city hosts its annual 4th of July celebration Grand Park is the place to be. They go all out and make sure that the festivities at hand gives us Angelenos a good ol time. other than that its a nice quiet park that you can actually hear yourself think. See you soon.
The Dtla pow wow was fun, heartfelt, and completely appreciated.
Cute park. Clean. What more can be said...
I like this place very quiet and my child just had some fun with the water
Beautiful place to meet, sip some coffee or have your lunch. Interesting plant displays with informative markers.
Clean with the most beautiful view foreal I had to move in
This is a very nice spacious park with a massive fountain and a Starbucks. A nice selection of plants from around the world is also present.
The splash pad is a great place for children ages 1-5. And the small playground is surprisingly good.
Nice but my phone was stolen like we were just taki ng a nap like not even mins and they have the guts to steal a for left the charger that was hooked up on the phone put on the pocket of the shirt on the chest and men come on it's not like you can't have 1 it's free so why steal then.
HAD AN AWESOME TIME, RAN INTO A FEW FRIENDS N TALKED TO ALOT OF PEOPLE AND LOTS IF RESOURCES TO TAKE BACK TO THE CENTER.
We spent a few hours at the Grand Park for Pokemon Go Community Day. It was great with lots of shady areas for relaxing and sitting
Nice and clean. Good place to bring the family.
Very lively place. During the day, when it's not overrun by homeless people, it can be enjoyable to spend time here. There is even a play area for kids. Law enforcement officers keep walking around ensuring the place is safe. There are also restrooms available and a couple coffee places. Very scenic park!!
Well bicycles to these great L.A. places is great experience.I Love L.A..find great vibes everywhere.take my babies out for a long tiring but great fun day!!!
Nice and relaxing place to get rid of cities hectic life and enjoy some Greenery in the middle of downtown.
Very nice place
we happened upon this park skating through LA on the way to the subway. It was a clean park and I was very happy that the restrooms were available for us to use. I've been in other legal courtyards where there are many people lounging about, but there were no available bathrooms in the vicinity. It seems like a public hazard to not have a bathrooms available to use and wash hands. This place was very clean and there was a Starbucks that seemed to be open but I'm not sure. The fountain was very nice and I like the views of LA
Great park, I recently went there for Day of the Dead and NYE Los Angeles
Great Park downtown, quiet, not crowded and plenty of paths for strollers and wheelchairs etc. There is a Starbucks next to a fountain with a big shallow (inch deep) water feature kids can play in so very safe. Just being a change of clothes, great in the summer. Beautiful gardens and lawn areas to just sit relax, study, whatever.
A great kids playground is right next to city hall so perfect to let kids blow off steam before heading up to the observation deck.
Lots of parking nearby, at reasonable rates so you can drive there and have a stroll around.
Really enjoyed seeing this iconic building from the TV series Dragnet.
The beauty of this park is wonderful.
This park is split in half by Broadway. The lower part of the park faces the city hall. This is a great area to stage parades, Sally's and what not.
Best place in LA to celebrate NYE for free
Nice park, close to downtown LA attractions
Cool place to hang out.
YO. This was super fun! We took the boys. The playground is AWESOME. Gated off and safe for the kids to roam, and had a lot of fun things.
The overall park too was fun and near a lot of things like restaurants (and a Blue Bottle.. that’s a plus!!)
Definitely go here if you like parks at all! It was clean and dope.
It's beautiful park but one of the flags are missing and the wire to put the flag got damage.
So cozy, clean and wonderful place to spend time with friends and family.
Lovely park to spend some time.
Must see at night the fountain lights up different colors
Nice little city park during the day
Beautiful downtown park—open even during COVID.
This park impresses you when you look at the great space and the buildings that surround it, it's really a miracle. very nice to visit. The fountain gives an extraordinary freshness to the park and is a key element of the park. Also in the park, for those who want to enjoy the park by drinking coffee, there is a Starbucks at the center of the park. A very convenient place to spend an afternoon with family and friends.
Well kept park. Places to sit, a decent sized playground area. Nice to walk through at any hour really. Well lit, and clean. Easily the best park downtown; and also the biggest. Even the bus stop here at the lower East end is better than others as it provides full shelter and a spot to charge your phone which I haven’t seen anywhere else. Easily catch the train on the upper West end. Good job on the Related Companies for making it what it has become today.
It's a great place to chill and enjoy DTLA. Starbucks right next to it. Good for all ages.
Nice place, excellent service and great food.
There are some questionable people hanging around and I wouldn't go there at night or alone. But during the day or with friends it's nice.
This is a outstanding park. It has a great fountan that the kids can play in (right now closed because of the covid). A great view of city hall and lots of grass and special events in the summer. The park even has its own Starbucks! Only four stars because parking is expensive.
Great place to hang out with your friends and family... 💃💃 There's always things to discover. …
Nice place for kid and infants. A pool outside of Starbuck so that kid could play while I enjoy my NCB.
An otherwise beautiful park marred by homeless people.
This place is amazing! We love the splash area with the fountains. There is a Starbucks, bathrooms and lots of seating. It is always a few degrees cooler here. There is also a kids playground that is lots of fun but super hot during the day. I wish they would put up some sun shades. There always seems to be something going on and its very entertaining.
This is a beautiful Park I come to the memorial fountain all the time and I'll go to the Starbucks next to the memorial fountain all the time! It's definitely worth checking out if you've never been there!
Beautiful park, great view of the city hall. Feels like Los Angeles.
It was good, enjoyed watching little kids playing with the water by the fountain area. So many trees to rest under the shade.
Great location and lots of space for great events.
Nice 1st time experience.
I only wished it had more lighted stuff to see.
Beautiful park. Try come at nights as the fountain light colors change every few minutes. It looks amazing!
Security guard standby, so its safe.
Parking available besides the park.
Wheelchairs can go to the lower level of the park using elevator.
Just a wonderful park to hangout and unwind.
Nice open space to enjoy walking
This place is great for kids to run around & have fun ❤️
An amazing place to visit
Wonderful, beautiful, peaceful...and so much more.
They have plant exhibits with the classification and species , really interesting to read.
I really appreciated all the freshness at the place.
Plenty of shade (or sun) and space to lay down on the grass, just wonderful.
Perfect place to just rest for a bit , or to check out as a tourist.
Free concert at the 10th annual park celebration.
I went for a pokemon go event. It was avery nice experience. It was a big event. There were places for strollers and walkers.
Went for the HomeWalk 5/18/19 and was very impressed with the accommodations that were there. The area was nice and the event was well planned!
Nice place to drink a coffe. Pretty order and safety!
Super amazing park, with beautiful scenarios, where you can walk, take pictures and much more.
Went there for the Dance DTLA, you can go without an ID, unless you want to get to the bar you will need it.
We visited this park for national dance day and it was beautiful
Nice clean park to walk through, has a big water fountain you can walk and play in. Perfect view of city hall. Nice place to go on a date. Parking is the only issue, like most spots in LA. Paid Public parking garage is right next to it.
Beautiful at night. Lots of different areas to sit. Nice color changing waterfall that you could across if you wanted.
Small dog park area. No grass. All dirt but it's hard so it's not to bad.
Great place to sit, chat with friends and drink some wine next to the fountains.
what an experience if and only America were Great go Bernie
It's a nice large park right outside LA city hall. It's convenient to access with its own metro stop. Parking nearby is mostly paid parking. Street parking a few blocks away so there's a little walk if you want to street park. We can for the free Christmas light show that was going on the month of December and it was pretty nice for a free event. They have many other events through the year so it's a nice place to visit
Quiet and peaceful small park can be rested after lunch.
The Park is just out in front of my building. It's very beautiful during the day, and especially at night. It even has a Starbucks located near the water fountain that is open till 9pm. The fountain is a nice refreshment for the little ones. Very clean and safe. Only thing I don't like is the homeless at the park, but the Music Center Security does a good job at patrolling.
I've passed buy, and only set foot in the Grand Park once ,but from what I know you can walk your Dog 🐕 on the Park 🏞️ their is a playground for the Children also. With their is a Beautiful green Grass you can see when passing buy or by Visiting the Park. …
It is a nice place to just chill and enjoy the day sitting around. Great views of the city. And it’s a well kept place. However, there’s lots of homeless people in the park. And although most just keep to themselves, some can be loud and get on your face.
Very different (aupgraded) from what I remember, very beautifully 💖💖💖 done 🙌 …
Great job with this fourth of July celebration
Nice view from downtown LA, but full of hobos
This renovated park downtown is quite magical. There is a straight line coming from the beginning of the park and crossing the street, it continues towards an incline up the stairs. In the middle of the park, there is a glorious fountain that is surrounded by a wading pool of water with trickling mini fountains bubbling up. Kids and adults enjoy wading in the water on a hot summer's evening. Definitely go see this architectural marvel that has been newly renovated. However, don't litter around the park, so as to not spoil it's beauty for everyone. Thank you.
It's a big beautiful place, magical if you ask me,it started with a beautiful butterfly 🦋 greeting me as if it knew I wasn't from there following me around! Then a little finch came right In fron't of me,almost bullied me LoL I was eating my snack LoL I mean I could have hand fed him he wasn't afraid at All LoL it was amazing! Beautiful Day 🥰😍 this Park 🏞️ so many wonder's!
The fountain is beautiful at night. Nice little park.
Many homeless in the are. Cool looks and many events. Weird Christmas lights in addition to the smallish traditional ones.
I was there for the 2018 tree lighting ceremony and also the Winter Glow installation. It's a nice park although the layout is quite different than most because it is built into a hill in 2-3 sections (separated by streets). I also saw some art installations at night in the summer. It's a bit small and boring as a regular daytime park but I recommend the nights. I also heard it cost $150m to build which seems about 50 times too much.
The dancing in the park is a one of a kind experience. It's almost surreal and so romantic, dancing in the middle of downtown with the beautiful decor, skyscrapers at night, and food trucks. Perfect ambiance and great for families, as well. The dance lessons make for some great laughs and fun.
Had a fun Sunday there. I was a bit disturbed about the smoking in the park with so many kids & seniors around. Most people didn't wear mask because they were outside...I guess.
Spacious park in the centre of downtown LA,next to underground train station, walking distance to city hall, police headquarters and the High Court. Despite there are few homeless around, it is clean and relaxing to walk around the park. Around noon, there will be food trucks operating (about 500 meters from the Starbucks), there are many seats available for you to sit down for lunch. Starbucks is near the water fountain, there's toilet facility. Just wish that it have more trees for shades.
It is one of the most entertaining area in town. Most of the weekends there are event that are held in this park. If you co e to downtown on the weekend you will have something to attend to.
There are always food trucks around the area to try the flavor of the city.
Only down side is the homeless crisis the city is facing at the moment. If we could help rectify the issue, by everyone contributing to helping each other. That might be a start. Also littering is another issue I wish there were harsher fines for people who do so.
Overall it's an awesome place for kids and family to take a break from the busy city life. Come enjoy the greens and relax for a bit.
There is always events going on here. Usually quiet when no events are held. Beautiful architecture and landscape.
They have such fun & awesome FREE events here I love this park
Hung around here for a quite a while because it felt like such an oasis considering it's location- next to a courthouse and a touristy spot just accross the street. There's a Starbucks located inside the park for your coffee fix. Found out it was already opened at six AM for those of you wanting to know. An ATM as well as a public restroom just next to it. The park offers a great view of City Hall on one end and then a huge fountain on the opposite.
Again such an oasis I came back again during lunchtime to give my feet a break, - the area is very hilly. Found out there's food trucks on Tuesdays. There were significantly more people around but nothing unruly. Lots of sitting areas around. And the park is pretty well maintained with the trash cans being check by custodians even during this time. As well as lots of security personnel. Safety.
Although it was extremely crowded, we expected it being as it was New Years Eve. It was free admission to get in the park and they had a couple DJ's and people everywhere dancing. From the very old to the very young all races all sexualities everyone came together and had a wonderful time. No problems all night as far as I know which is quite an accomplishment if you ask me. I will definitely be checking to see what else they offer throughout the year because I was really impressed with the whole thing.
Great place for kids to play under the water fountains. It's really clean and in the summer there are a variety of events that take place. There was also food trucks aligned near the park which makes it convenient for lunch. A major plus is the starbucks near the water fountain. The only bad thing about this place is the parking. Parking near the park costs 20 dollars.
It's very spacious and dog friendly! A great add to the community!
I love walking through here during the day and it gets so nicely decorated for holidays and events. Sometimes feels a bit unsafe in the evenings and could definitely be cleaner. They have a small fenced in dog area, but every time I’ve gone my dog gets picked on. We have a much better experience at the park on 2nd, it’s bigger and maybe the dogs who can be trusted off leash unfenced are just nicer and better trained.
I am so happy with this park. The city of LA made such a great job rebuilding this area. Now it has become a beautiful recreational area where people can chill, get some coffee, lay in the ground and read a book or just enjoy the city views. I love the fountain where you can walk over
A beautiful well maintained park in the thick of downtown LA. Go to sit and enjoy the sunshine while sipping on a Starbucks or just to people watch. The fountain is clean and a great place to be photographed. There are some spectacular views of the city. Find a chair and relax or just walk around and stretch your legs. Close to many downtown attractions such as Disney Hall.
What a modern and beautiful park this is, indeed!. The park was well adorned and decorated for Christmas and it offered a wonderful New Year party. Sometimes they have live classic music and they are nice chairs and tables all around the park. The park becomes a venue for holidays and certain events.
This is one of the most architecturally stunning Community places in the United States. New York has Central Park, Boston has the Boston Commons, and Los Angeles has one of the most incredible architectural masterpieces. From the Music Center Plaza City Hall is one of the nation's most prized architectural gems. Dozens of buildings cascading downhill to create a majestic, almost Roman sense AB design, continuity, power while all the while inviting you to its calm peaceful interior. From the Sleek lines of Water and Power building through the new music center Center Plaza through Grand Park to City Hall, the power, the beauty, the history, and the future of Los Angeles are represented. This is not to be missed! It is to be lived in, loved and enjoyed for Generations.
Good place to play with kids and hang out with other parents while the kids have fun
Such a great addition to downtown. Our boys love the splash pad and large lawn. I wish there were some walking overpasses connecting the various parts of the park, but crossing isn't too bad outside of rush hour.
Not much going 9n during the day. But they do have different events happening on certain days/nights.
Grand park really is a grand park. They have a fantastic fountain the the start and you can come and cool off in it during the summer. If you want a little bit of a pick me up there is also a Starbucks there. For food, there are food trucks that park. They have entertainment such as screening, dances and events. It is perfect for just about any mood you might be in.
It's a big lawn, it used to be a parking lot. Restrooms are clean and maintained throughout the day. The park hosts events throughout the year. I'm a fan of the play ground area it hosts the fastest slide in the DTLA area. Police and sheriff's patrol so it's relatively safe plus the police station is right across the street .
Eventful park. Sit, relax have a drink and enjoy the music.
In recent years I've frequented Grand Park. Train station at the base of the park, fountains, benches, a Starbucks, and the occasional festivals and concerts...great local place to unwind or exercise. Most of the park is at a slight incline, yet the wheelchair accessibility is designed very well for comfort for everyone. If you want a reasonably priced alcoholic drink nearby, the highest point of this park is across the street from the Music Center's mezzanine bar. If there is anything happening at the center that day (most days) the bar will be open.
I was here on the 4th of July 2019. It's a really nice mellow place. It holds a lot more people than you'd think when you see it empty. The is no particular parking area that I saw. However, you can take the Redline Train and find it right outside the station. The firework show was a little short, but it was a REALLY good show. The music was amazing as well. There are places to grab a bite, like Starbucks. As for restrooms, I'm not sure if there are any. I was there for a special event so there were several portables in place.
This is probably one of the cleanest and safest park around. No homeless people camping out. It is close to the courthouse, city hall, LA Times building, and Metro red line civic station. You know they have lots of surveillance cameras. They say it's a park for dogs. Just passing through but never actually stay there for long. They have a big grassy field. Some played soccer last time I was there. It feels like a corporate sponsored park more than your local neighborhood parks.
Usually a clean park and police patrolling constantly. Prime location in downtown LA nxt to redline Civic Center stop.
Good place to be bring kids and is a huge place separated by two streets. Upper part contains a Starbucks, a Lilly pad section where kids can run across watery floors and have water shooting up from the ground. Also nice eating area. Middle section has historical features, and bottom section is across from city hall and has a play area for young children and a wide grass area for families to play.
Great park, lots of space, has a Starbucks, which is very convenient, and so many events are held here. There's always something to do, and it's within walking distance of many eating establishments. The park is well maintained.
I only stopped here because I was lost in the Big City. I'm from the Valley, THE Valley. The parks there are quite and for the most part, peaceful. Most of them are kid oriented. The mom's know how to clean up after themselves. So from what I've seen, they are mostly clean. In some of these reviews, they seemed surprised by the cleanliness. You have to consider who goes to those parks. Any way a park for law enforcement I would expect it to be clean. Even though some people call them pigs, they don't often leave a mess I'm thier own backyard, just yours. LA
Love the free yoga classes on Wednesday and Fridays. As well as the kids playground. This park has a little bit of everything for everyone, even if you just want a calm place to sit and eat lunch.
Excellent Israeli food. Great vegetarian options. Lovely patio.
A nice relaxing place in the middle of downtown LA. The picture was taken from City Hall at the end of Grand Central Park. Park is very dog friendly and clean. They have free yoga during the week at times. There are bathrooms, parking (a bit expensive) and Starbucks. A great water fountain as well to sit by. Great place to relax and enjoy your day.
It is a great park, with an awesome view of LA city hall. It is a fun place to come and relax while in the bustle of downtown. There are a bunch of cool art exhibits and statues around, so those are worth checking out too. Overall it was a great experience.
Beautiful park in downtown LA right in front of the Los Angeles City Hall. The park is big and it has plenty of green areas to sit down and hang out. There are restrooms available. It features a nice fountain and a Starbucks as well so you can pick up a drink and enjoy it sitting on the grass.
Great park! Always has events and block parties from larger events . Always family friendly as well . They have this fountain where kids are allowed to play and get in . You can find a starbucks and Bank of America ATM here too . Its placed right next to a court house so it's a pretty safe area .
Right in the downtown provides a lush of greens and great way to spend evenings. Lots of fun filled areas for kids and people loving heath activities. This also a place for great coffee and local festivals.
Great day to eat mole. Music antijitos and fun for all
I don't know that I would call this a park. More like a square with a nice fountain. It is pretty deserted on weekends which adds to a creepy feeling. There is a Starbucks in the park and thankfully restrooms are open. Otherwise you won't miss much.
A nice, if very large public space. About four square blocks. I can see that lots of events will take place here, since it's completion. This was sorely needed, as downtown has few parks, and green spaces. There is a water attraction for kids to play in and get wet on a hot summer day. Just make sure they understand not to drink it. My only complaint is that shade is in short supply.
Very clean park lots of walking space and sights to see. Plant life is all around and it even tells you the name of the plants. I feel safe here lots of security on patrol and there very approachable and helpful. The colors of this park at night are stunning
The park is close to the government and the court, great place! very friendly to the family, allows the children to go in and play, the fountain always open and there will always be some activities. suitable for playing, and it's also suitable for have rest an afternoon.
Visited Grant Park for the 1st time yesterday. What a pleasant surprise. Clean & manicured. A great place for the family. No homeless tents.
I love going to this park. It has a splash pad, a playground, and lots of green space to play or just hang out. It has security walking around all the time making sure there are no shenanigans going on. There is a Starbucks located next to the splash pad. It always has events going on for the community. Mostly always free!
This place is so serene, and beautiful. The fountains are running all year long, and at night they have changing color lights in the fountains. There's also a splash pad perfect for the little ones is your family.
Awesome dog park but small pen for your dog to run and no grass or trees in the pen but nice to take your dog for a walk and meet outher dogs to play with and meet new people there
The Grand Park is a nice oasis in the middle of the city. The grassy area along with the wonderful fountains is a great place to come and just relax if you're already in downtown.
The music center and the pavilion are nearby as well, and there is a lot of water sculptures throughout.
Small park, but is surrounded by buildings so it's a cool spot. A few days a week they have food trucks nearby, and it is only a ten minute walk from the Grand Central Market.
If you just want a place to come and eat lunch and get some sunshine it's a good place to go.
What a gem in the city. To the north the music center to the west and east courthouses and to the south the beautiful City Hall. It is best to check out their website for events as this park has become an all purpose venue. My favorite spot is the fountains where the kiddos are allowed to splash around. The only downside to the park is the parking situation. My recommendation, visit after 4pm, where most surrounding lots are a flat $10 fee.
Great park in DTLA. Beautiful fountain with seating area. Green spaces in between the tall buildings.
Park at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion parking, stop at Starbucks and hang out by the fountain for a bit.
They have a lot of night time events here.
Easy to walk to City Hall, Disney Concert Hall and the Broad Museum.
Lots of food trucks on the street with good food.
The Golden Gate Park is a large 1017 acre urban public park. It began in 1871 configured as a rectangle similar in shape and twenty percent larger than Central Park in NYC. It is about three miles east and west by a half mile north and south. It is the third most visited park after Central Park and the Lincoln Memorial. The park has a music concourse area, De Young Museum, Academy of Sciences, Japanese Tea Garden, Conservatory of Flowers, Beach Chalet, Windmills, Statues, Carousel, Botanical Garden, several lakes, hills, bison, walking trails, plants and animals.
Beautiful place, clean, quiet and the security guard very nice and helpful. Over all a really nice place to walk around or sit down and take the fresh air.
It's good but definitely not grand
Great place for 50k people to strike. Clean, spacious, and lots of eateries near.
I started a sort of show and others had their fun too
Was just passing through although we did sit next to the courthouse for a bit and chatted with a sheriff for about 15 minutes. And he knew EVERYONE who came out for lunch that worked at the courthouse. Good guy. Great convo. Great park!
Great spot for a festival. We went to the LA Bowl and it was excellent!
This park is clean and there are usually cool event going on here. Over the summer it's also fun to splash around in the fountain. There are also two large grass areas that can be nice for having picnics.
Worked for ADT had a great time good vibes music and dancing.
This is great fun for kids and adults - who enjoy people watching :). Bring bathing suits and towels for kids because there's a fun splash area. Also recommended to bring lunch. The kids play in the water, get hungry and then head back into the water. Parking is $20 in a lot. So if you want an extra adventure, take the subway. There's a stop at grand park.
Not very grand and at times there are a few aggressive homeless people around but when there's an event on or if you're ever downtown in need of some greenery it certainly is an oasis. It's pretty well maintained and there's plenty of places to relax and enjoy a meal.
Lovely. Beautiful park all around. The lake trail is food all year around. If your doing any of the mountain/hill hikes I recommend you go during th spring.
Great place to have lunch outdoor in downtown. In the midst of the concrete jungle it is a very nice green space to escape to. The incredible fountain is a great place to be especially in the heat of summer.
Nice park but a lot of homeless people
Went there for the first time on new years eve.
Nice, quiet place to pause and enjoy the sun.
It's a nice clean park to enjoy time with friends on the grass or grab a drink at Starbucks. But great thing is they have security so it's safe as well. They also have events here too for those interested.
Great spot for early morning meditation. Located slightly adjacent to City Hall. Awesome view of City Hall. Also a good place to do some people watching. Beautifully landscaped garden. Host to mangy feral cats. Free 🐦 birds. And occasional yelling homeless person. …
I loved the art work
I have only, specifically gone here to hang-out on the recent back-to-back "4th-Of July" celebration events. But I have to say the acre amounted available is spacious to leisurely enjoy. True it is a FAR different area on those once a year spectacles, than it normally would be everyday, but I liked it.
A lot of green space but the only playground is closed off so don't expect a slide or anything for the young kids.
It is great to have this park available in downtown. It is a comfortable space with a beautiful fountain and walking pool. A Starbucks is conveniently located in the park. There are various events that happen throughout the year so go to the website to see what is happening.
It is a really nice park to walk around if you are in Downtown LA. I usually come here to eat my lunch. You can find plenty of spots to sit down and relax. There are even events that go on during the week here. For a park in Downtown LA, it is not too bad.
They had a very nice event there, for the independence of Mexico, plenty of good food to choose from. The ATF Security Officer's Company that were securing us, were focused on their job. They really made us feel safe at the event. 👨👩👦👦 Thank you. Amen. …
Very clean, many seats and tables to use, very cool water fountain!
Green oasis in the concrete jungle. LA needs lot more of these to make it green. I see people playing socket in the afternoons, evenings and weekends. Nice to people hanging out in the park. Food trucks come here regularly to attract more crowds.
That said, If this has to be the Central park of downtown LA, it needs more space and better facilities.
One problem is, they are trying to make it everything for everybody. Is it a park or a play ground or events place? Why not add the empty lot next to it? (It has more space vertically - runs up the stairs across Broadway, hill, hop streets, but larger space across will help too).
This park needs more tree linings to create better shaded areas for people to during hot summer. And it needs better facilities. Why not allow small food vendors to sell there, so people traffic is always there? A nice coffee shop or restaurant in the empty lot next to it may be useful. May be even a LA souvenir shop??
I love Grand Park, it's so quick getting there. From parking being available on Hill Street, to many bus lines stopping by there, and the Purple & Red line being at Civic Center which is IN the actual park. (: There's so many benches, picnic spots, a Starbucks, shade, & a fountain. Love coming here w. my husband.
An oasis of hard lines, international plants ,and water features. Built for the folks who enforce our law, mete out justice, and just generally run our society. Not to mention those who oil the machine, and turn the crank.
I am thankful for this place where higher functioning homeless, all the way up to district court judges begin their day. Oddly enough I have yet to say good morning to some one who did not return my salutation. A truly welcome surprise for southern California.
For Downtown, Grand Park is a nice park. But functionally, the space is way too broken up by the street network (and the grade changes) to work as, and feel like, a coherent place. The park is more like a nice place to cut through (and grab a coffee) where you're headed somewhere else (Music Center, City Hall, Union Station, etc) rather than a destination to go to.
Love this park idk why it's cool tho, good for parkour too!
Grand Park is 4 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Star clean almost all the time. The Park recently set up the Christmas Decorations and an elaborate Art & Light display.
Gourmet Tacos and Refreshments including Wine was served after the set up was completed. A DJ mixed up intriguing Jazz & Blues.
The refreshments and food were provided at no cost to the public. A small crowd had assembled especially considering that there was no notice to the public.
My grandson and I had a small picnic there in the middle of the lawn. Had a great time no one bothered us. There were a very few homeless people there but they were in their own world.
I would invite anyone there to just relax and enjoy the peace and the beauty of the surroundings. It really is a comfort to be able to go to a place where you can actually find your serenity.
It would be a perfect place to do a yoga class too! Just saying.
When I'm in LA walking around or with my bicycle, I usually stop here to chill and relax. It's a great park. Fun for the kids. Friendly picnic. I wish there was more shade though. I'm always looking for more shade. I used to come here to take the yoga class. I thought that was great. I enjoyed it very much. When you're in LA, drop by the park and enjoy a picnic with friends and family.
Nice but the fountain was under reservation…
Its a great park able to watch with festivals of the downtown area. Able to meet new people tourist of around the world. I always enjoying meeting the people to help them out of where to go. Enjoying a part of their adventures of my best home city Los Angeles and hoping they Enjoy Our American Culture and love of the people.
This place is green, this place is blue, and it has a Starbucks. Pretty much something for everyone. The only down side might potentially be parking but I parked elsewhere and walked to the park on my visit.
The big beauty of this park in my opinion is the huge fountain. The day I visited there was a wedding being held here so you can already imagine from that how picturesque this location is, but don't imagine it, just look at some photos or better yet just go visit.
People play in the waters too, mainly children but I'm sure everyone's welcome.
If you want to stay out of the sun there are plenty of shaded areas plus a starbucks right in the middle of the park if you're in need of some cold beverages.
It's pretty laid-back and quiet out there today at the park, and it's nice and sunny. Some nice Chinese ladies stopped by the charging spot last night and told me that they'd be willing to offer their space and time with me to go out and see China some time. Super exciting!
Lots of open space. Plenty of places to sit. Regularly events taking place. Love the art installations and overall character. Too many kids playing in the fountains. Perfect place to relax during a day of exploring or even on lunch break.
What a lovely place. It's nice seeing water flow from engineered stone in such a modern look. I recommend this for any family!
Beautiful park .We often go there.
I felt very safe over there
I seen three armd guards there, walking around all the time,
And it is a very beautiful Park
Nice and big
😎😎😎
Not to many of the "crazies" messing things up and security is really chill. So beautiful when they put all the lights up especially the neon colored waterfountain. I'd say this is one of the few spots in LA where you can go and take a deep breath, relax a little bit, then hop back on the red line and get back to hustling.
It is just a nice place to relax look over Los Angeles see how they're growing in the structures are improving the Park area is just fantastic for me taking a walk or sitting there having lunch as a great thing especially when I put out a lot of different exhibits during the holiday time it's always gorgeous up there
A really expansive park that just feels refreshing to soak up the sun in. Can't hear too many cars or traffic from here, I'd happily lay in the grass or enjoy lunch here on a windless day. It is on a hill however so expect plenty of stairs
On weekend mornings, there tends to be a few mentally unstable indigent people roaming about. It's not as noticeable on weekdays because of increased traffic. Please be aware and exercise caution when visiting.
