Reviews of Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook

This trail was perfect for me! Whether you want something less strenuous or pretty intense, this trail has you covered. The stairs are doable for someone who isn't active at all but you have to find a comfortable pace. The Outlook would have presented a beautiful panoramic view of the city if not for the clouds. Elsa's Juice Bar is a great reward at the end of the walk. Everything was fresh and delicious!

Amazing views with trails and steps! You can do the leisure walk or come here to workout. Well kept area with a few healthy food truck options at the start! It can be busy, come early to beat the heat and crowd!

382 steps, or you have the option of ascend via a windy dirt trail along the hill. You can see a tiny sliver of the Hollywood sign while Up there. Street parking is also available. No dogs allowed. The steps themselves are pretty massive and have awkward spacing between them. That’s where the real work out comes in. And On that note, you’ll see MANY people who seemingly do this regularly as part of their workout routine. Took my family 30 minutes to go up, with a 10 year old and a 55+ year old.
There are some food trucks usually parked at the bottom.

What an overlook! Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook has a great panoramic view of Los Angeles and Culver City. Locals come here to hike up the hill or do stairs exercise all the time.
The overlook is on a hilltop, you can get there through the steep Culver City stairs, or a zigzag dirt trail that crisscrosses the stairs. You can also visit the overlook from Jim Webb Trail behind, it comes from Kenneth Hahn Park and Park to Playa Bridge.
There are restrooms at the top of the overlook.

Amongst one of the coolest lookouts in the LA area, a panoramic view of the entirety of west LA and the beach on a nice day, the park requires you to pay for parking at the top, there is a visitor center and multiple routes to explore. The park is filled with wildlife of many sorts. In conclusion, a very nice place to get your hillside run in if you live near by, comparable to Runyon canyon
4/10 hike difficulty

Free street parking, almost panoramic views up top of LA, great spot for sunrise or sunsets, especially to see neighboring mountains in the backdrop of city views. Clean, well maintained restrooms at the top at the building, was open when we arrived around sunset (5:30 PM in January)

I'm not going to lie; I didn't walk up to the top. I am NOT that fit. We drove to the top, looked around, and went back down. But in all fairness, we're from out of town, so of course time is a factor and we had to drive there anyway, so ....
It's definitely worth the visit if you're in Los Angeles or you live there. It's beautiful and I'm sure really challenging if you're walking up from the base. When you get to the top and you see those views, it's so worth it. We were so lucky because the air quality was good so visibility was great. It was so quiet and peaceful up there and when you look down at the sprawling LA below you, it's mesmerising. You can hear sirens now and then and an airplane maybe, but otherwise it's relaxing and serene. And it's a nice different view vantage point than other areas of the city, so it's another bonus to visiting here.
I imagine this gets super busy on weekends, so we were there during the week and early in the day. I wouldn't want to be there when it's really crowded as you'd lose the quiet. Also, I think it might be a little unpleasant in bad heat - unless you like hot weather - so early in the day was also a plus for that reason.
I think I'll come back here each visit to LA. Maybe even next time I'll be fit enough to leave the car below and walk up (hehe).

Googled views of city lights at night and found this place. Expectations exceeded...mind blown...definitely worth it!! There were plenty of people still making the trek up the steep hill. We could see the trails and stairs in the dark. I already tripped on the flat walkway, so I thought maybe we shouldn't go exploring in the dark 🤪
We stayed right by the first overlook at the top and were not disappointed. It was a short hike uphill and not a lot of people around after sunset. Can't wait to see this same view in the daylight ☀️
Kevin Johan Wong
A great spot for morning workout. Steps are steep and present a good challenge, or take the slower winding way upwards. Smoothie trucks at the bottom of the hill are a great reward afterwards! Would not classify this hill as a hike, but a great park none the less!
Bree Keys
There are different ways to get up the mountain (... or hill).
Climbing the Culver City Steps is definitely an experience and challenge to any level of fitness but oh so fun. You can stop and take pictures of the beautiful scene around you or just take in the awesome view while breathing in nature.
If you don't want to do the steps you can take a path that starts off as a sidewalk and then advances to a dirt path. I wish the dirt path went all the way from the bottom to the top, it's easier on my knees when I run.
If you walk or run please be safe and hydrate. I've seen the ambulance come to get people who did not take care of themselves during the hike ( due to a lack of hydration, rest, knowing when to stop, etc.).
If you don't want to walk or run there is a road that can take you all the way to the top with an area for paid parking (most people don't seem to pay).
The views are amazing! The sights are something you'd see in a movie. While hiking I feel like I get a chance to get away from the L.A buzz and get to have a slice of nature and peace.
If you have a dog there are certain areas they don't want dogs due to some sort of conservation limitations but I still see people take them everywhere with no problem.
All this to say, if have a chance go for it no matter which method you decide to climb... or ride.
Oh and there are public restrooms at the very top with a water fountain. And I alluded to the conservation stuff too, they have some sort of museum at the very top too, but everytime I go it seems to be closed.

Excellent! Additional hiking trails near by! Restrooms on site. You walk up the hill if you feel Adventurous. Great views. You have to pay for parking. They accept cash or card!
Josef Beyer
Love that spot for a short workout or for a beautiful overlook over LA. The steps are steep and can be exhausting, but there is also a very nice path up to the top
Jewel Lim
What a wonderful day! Blue skys, flowers blossuming and you can see for miles at los angeles from a different angle. Great spot to get iut of the city and just soak in the great views!!
LosAngeles RcCars
Love to hike at this park, been coming since a child. Now as an adult, I enjoy long walks with my Truck. Love the views and friendly people too. I highly recommend this park for any family who wants to come and have a good time outdoors. Bikes, scooters, soccer, football, slides, sand, hiking, fishing, exercising, you name it!
Robert Josef Aguilar
Beautiful views at the top. Unfortunately the visitor center was closed, but it was a great time hiking the trails. Of course, the stairs are the focal point, and they did not disappoint. Great workout and you get a great feeling of accomplishment when you reach the top. Highly recommend this place!
Dan Senz
Went on a weekday.
Parking near is a no go.
They have a few free parking spot walking distance. Meter parking is also available but is just as filled up.
There parking on top of the peak. I cant remember if its pay to park but im pretty sure it is.
Ive came here before for running events. There is a specific trail thst takes you across to the other side of the park.
Brandy Waller
If you are looking for a quick hour max walk with a little medium incline, beautiful scenery, and all this hike was it. 2 thumbs up!
Karem Fragoso
Saturday 1/21 morning was busy. Parking was tough if you do street. Amazing green lush hills. We took a trail that extended our hike to the Japanese garden. On the map here , we took the Blair Hills corridor and past the bridge to get to japanese garden.
Keisha Alexander
Great place to see the city from. Gorgeous array of flowers, cactus and even a lemon tree make this nature trail a sight to see.
Moe D
Great place to exercise and see serine views of West LA. They even serve healthy drinks at the entrance.
Super Man
Stairs are great for a leg workout. Trail connects with a second trail at the top of the hill. I went for a 1 mile hike and ended doing 8 miles. For sure this trail has a lot to offer. Explore a little bit and you will find a lot of things and beautiful places in this trail
Lone Wolf
Took my kids to this trail and it was awesome! The view of Culver City and surrounding areas awaking was in itself outstanding. If you add the benefits of getting some outside time, exercise, and having fun with your kids, you get a great way of starting your weekend. It isn't too difficult a trail for the young ones, but not too easy for the adults or more experienced hikers either. For those living in the neighborhood, it is perfect and right next door.
Alex Brinkmeyer
Great state park in the middle of Culver City! Awesome view of LA and surroundings. Easy to get here by car, bike or on foot. A must-see during sunsets!
Elizabeth Brignoni
Omg if you haven’t been you need to go. Only down side is the smog which blocks the far view. Beautiful 💗 …
dannylloydphoto. com
Great views of the whole of LA . Much better views than from Griffith park because you are closer to the ocean and get the sunset right in your face also the downtown view is spectacular , if you take the nature trail around to the East by the MLK statue which is a little hidden gem .
Justin Schwartz
Wow. All I can say is: wow. In addition, I'd also like to say wow.
I live about a mile from here and I discovered the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook about a month ago. Since hiking to the top, I've made it a habit to go at least once a week.
There is something indescribable about the panoramic view. It's like Sunset: Definitive Edition. I haven't been to every peak in California, but I imagine a lot of them are embarrassed that they aren't like Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook. I'm embarrassed that I'm not like Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook.
Anyway, great place to go to say goodbye to the day, great place to go for exercise, great place to go for a date, probably.
Belinda Page
I loved hiking here. I can't wait to move back some day.Such a hidden treasure..
Sabrina Bree
Nice little hike. Pretty busy so be prepared to park a little ways down the street unless you luck out and get parking nearby.
These photos are from 4th of July 2021. Looks empty I assure you it was busy.
Garrett Albers
Excellent park! It features many different trails to reach the top. Once at the top of the hill the views are incredible! You can get a 360 degree view of all of LA from Marina del Rey, to DTLA and can even make out long beach in a clear day.
D N
Many ways to go up. Can park on streets below and take stairs up (not easy) or take one of many walking trails. For the unfit and lazy, drive up Hetzler and park in lot. Low fee. There is a nice visitor center up there and go past that to lookout sites. Can be chilly. We spent 30 min just to look out and catch sunset. Many people doing their exercises.
JESUS LOVES YOU
Hillary Huerta
Fun, almost scenic place. Stairs leading to the top are manageble to run up. Took my friends and I, thirteen minutes to finish.
If you're a fan of easy workouts that could get done out in nature, then this is the place for you.

Another great hiking trail and scenic lookout place in LA. During the pandemic, many people in LA come here to hike up to the hill top to have a panoramic view of downtown LA, Hollywood hill, the San Gabriel mountain and the Pacific Ocean.
The hike is suitable for everyone. For the ones who want to have a good exercise, they can park their cars on the street and hike up 282 steep steps to a switchbacks where they can take a break and then hike another 300 feet to the top of the hill.
For those who just want to get to the view, they can drive all the way to the parking area near the top and then take a 10 minutes walk to the overlook on top of the hill.
The view here is breathtaking. On a clear day, you can vividly see the spectacular downtown LA skyline against the dramatic mountain backdrop.
Many people also take advantage of the clean air and open spaces here on the top of the hill and do their morning exercise here. Especially during the pandemic many people come here to workout instead of the gym.
TIAN XIA
Popular park for exercise and view of the vast city of angeles! It is a small hill but at a prominent location in Culver City, you can see the Pacific Ocean, Hollywood sign, downtown high rises and the mountains in the background on a good day, which is almost every day on Los Angeles. It opens your mind by the immensity of one of the largest cities in the world and find inner peace in a bustling city. There are plenty of wildlife in the park, I have seen different birds, rabbits and even snakes in the bushes. In short, this is a park you should not miss to visit, it benefits your body and your minds.
The TEAM
We call this place "The stairs"
It's most definitely worth the drive. There's all kinds of people working out small tall short, big, skinny, I've even see. Females have babies strapped to them while they workout so there's NO EXCUSE 💯 MOREOVER, ITS MOTIVATING …
Amber Morgan
Love the view, the walk, the air, and the time I get to spend with either my boys, my sister, or myself. Its great I say its a place everybody should go to either workout, spend time with the family, just to meditate or watch the sunset or rise. My only suggestion is if you are going early in the morning or late at night bundle up, its cold up there, have fun enjoy.
Marcos Castaneda
One of the most perfect 360-view of the City of Los Ángeles. From the DTLA High-Rises to the waves of The Santa Monica Beach!
chexta bexta
Sunrise or sunset 👌 gets moderate traffic. Nice view, doable hike for all ages. There is a switchback alternative if u don't wana do the stairs. …
Nicole Ong
Nice park and nice hike for weekends
Duchess O.G.
Great spot outdoors to get your heart rate up. The stairs look deceiving, but they are a CHALLENGE! But also lots of fun. You can end your hike/climb with fruit or a natural juice/smoothie that are sold at the start of the trail.
Alisha B
Perfect place for a medium-challenging hike. They have all kinds of different routes you can veer off onto for more of a challenge. Mine was 338 ft elevation, total 1.2 miles round trip. Beautiful views of the city. Pretty crowded though. Not everyone wears masks. So that may or may not bother you. I love the juice truck at the bottom, such a great healthy reward for yourself after you completed your hike. I got the Power greens juice.
Rachel Milito your Realtor
This was a nice 30 minute walk/ hike ! 375 steps .. Lots of steps to climb up, we decided to walk down the path and climb up the steps! They are steep stairs to climb. Nice scenic walk can we a couple hour adventure or a quick one. There are bathrooms up top as well as parking. 2 dollars for 1 hour. Nice views of the city! Definitely recommend !!! 😃
Diedrick Griep
It wasn't a clear day but we still loved the view. Didn't do the stairs or the trails, we were on vacation.
Mukesh D
Free and Open to public. There is some reinnovation going on. However it's nice scenic place. Public bathroom and free parking are available. Nice whether. Bring a bottle of water and tight grip shoes if you are looking for some adventurous hiking otherwise you have clean roads as well. Bicycles are allowed unlike other hills. You have choices either you can park your bike on ground or I dare you to climb up
Farrah Samuel
I love coming here🥰Taking walks and just looking at the views😍 …
James Blassingame
Met my cousin for a workout session on the stairs. I've heard that these were challenging, but hearing about it and actually doing them are two VERY different things. I'll definitely hit them up every time I'm in LA moving forward. They do get kind of packed, so if you're looking to put some work in, get there early. The parking gets pretty tight after 9am or so. Everyone and their mother seems to want to be out on these steps. With the heavy volume of people, if you are in decent shape you will find yourself manuvering around swaths of people. If you aren't in great shape, take your time, but don't let it intimidate you. The view at the top is just fine.........
victor assessing
Great stairs work out, it's roughly 1/4 mile climbing up. If you're not into doing the stairs there are trails path that is cleared and you could use it. The park hours are stated as 8am to sunset but you can actually go there as early as 5 am as long as it's not too dark. It gets somehow crowded between 8-10am. There are available parking spots in the street with 2 he time limit and also paid parking spots on the street too. If you drive up to the top of the overlook there are also few paid parking spots with handicap parking spaces also available. There is a small water fountain in the top and restrooms for both female and males. A little bench if you would like to sit, picnic have a meal. Scenery is beautiful you have the view of the entire DTLA, century City, and the ocean when it's clear.
chiquita Ruiz
Amazing, they have improved it over time to make easier for people to hike. With a beautiful view once you get to the top
J Calderón
Best place to workout in the area. Beautiful views of the Hills around LA, downtown and on a clear day even the beach! The stairs are long and with different heights, perfect workout. You can set your own pace by running the stairs or the path, walking down or up,... It is great! Only one water fountain in the visitor center on the top of the hill.
jthartx33
The trail is a Bit confusing and Is NOT dog friendly! 😭😱 but a solid workout with epic views of the surrounding LA area. Some of the steps were HUGE and there were Tons of them!! My friend and I are both about 4'11 and some steps were higher than our knees!
So be warned my fun sized friends!
Going down was rough and going both ways was anxiety inducing considering my fear of heights. But I made it!
We met a bunny friend
There's a visitor center near the top and they do some cool yoga class at the top of the steps (I think it's free!)
Also parking was a Nightmare (because LA) but also because the store/warehouse thing next door was having some kind of sale and people were lined up down the street for it!
There were also cool smoothie trucks at the bottom of the steps so i got an agua fresca and we got acai bowls 😍 made to order
Ti Jolly
Breathtaking view at the Baldwin Hills Overlook. This is not even the view at the top. You can certainly drive, we did but I will go back to walk it. Parking was $2 for an hour or $6 for the day. We had a dog with us and they're not allowed on the unpaved trails. Tons of other walkers and runners. Face coverings are required. Good mental and physical boost with a gorgeous view halfway through your adventure.
Alice N.
Best scenery place to see Century City and DTLA! The hike was sooo well worth it! Especially if you go during sunset. Not to mention with the perfect Weather in Cali, you have no excuse not to workout! There were even couples strolling their babies up the hill. You can take a flight of stairs or go thru the walking trails. It was about a 15-20min walk up the hill for me as I stopped every few minutes to take pictures Once you get to the very top, there’s many angles of the hill you can overlook the whole city. It feels like a whole new world up there, and the air is so much fresher! I went on the day they had the orchestra playing when you get to the top. Definitely must go, whether alone or in groups. The picture doesn’t do its justice. Must see in person!

If you want to get a quick work out before work (or after) this place is great to get the blood pumping!! Yes the stairs may seem like a challenge but don't be discouraged or frightened! Just take your time and walk it up or down as many times your body allows. After your work out enjoy the scenery from great views of LAX, Santa Monica, Culver City, Century City, Hollywood Sign, Downtown L. A. and the communities in between. It's not just a place to sweat it out but perfect to just be one with your thoughts at the very top. 😎
Prashant Patel
Was pretty near to my place and would rate one of those best places to get a quick HIT staircase climb.
You can clearly see the difference in this hike after some rain :) it's more beautiful !
jaz
Great for exercising and spending time with the family. I had so much fun going up the stairs and running on the trail. It may be a bit confusing at first cause the trail is sort of hard to find, And if you're not careful you might fall. There's no security on the stairs so that might be a problem for some people, But overall I had a great experience and the view is spectacular!
Angel Zapata
One of the best scenic hiking trails I've done! Beautiful views of LA and surrounding areas. Definitely coming back. Everyone should come at least once. The stairs are very hard if your out of shape or don't have endurance, but it was still worth it. Motivated me to do more hikes and more exercise.
Brendan Kiely
A nice overlook where you can see all across the West side of Los Angeles. You do have to pay for parking at the top of the hill. The cheapest is $2 for one hour. Not bad if you want to go enjoy the view and walk around a little. During my visit (Sept. 2018) alot of the trails were closed for rehabilitation. The stairs are very steep but present a great challenge if you are up for the task to climb them. The view is nice and it was clear on the day I visited.
The Creamy One
Lovely trails capturing all the seasons. Great uphill workout for whatever straining level you prefer- straight n steep or gradual n windy. Once atop, awesome view in all directions.
Christian La Mont
Who knew we had an open space like this right in our own backyard? There's the option for an easy hike or you can take the incline stairs (think Santa Monica Stairs but much more scenic). Friendly people and a great view of all of L.A. when you get to the top. Highly recommended for a hike, walk or workout.
Rajesh Mohan
This is a great place to get amazing views of the city! Carry some water bottles and get a workout started. This is gonna be a good one!
Brenda A
Summary: Big raggedy stairs, beautiful scenery, nice terrain trails surrounded by nature and big hill.
Sugar “Bibi Asha” Hayes
I really enjoy taking a walk here in the early morning. The air is nice and crisp
Gonzales Family and friends “Candyman”
Fun place to go with the family and friends. Night time offers a nice look of the cities and day time you can see the Hollywood sign in the distance. It be nice if the bathrooms could stay open longer and the center on top be open to. This place could use a Eagle project or something else. But overall it's pretty clean there not that much trash like other places. Even with people taking there dogs there haven't seen any evidence of that. So the 4 starts is for the bathroom thing had to leave early to take people to the bathroom. But other than that it's a 5 start on a gooood leg work out on the stair climbing they're not your regular grandparents stairs.
Rodrigo Rodriguez
Make sure you have some drinking water, or go to the restroom before going here. It's a great workout getting to the top. Depending on which way you decide to hike. Enjoy the view. It's beautiful in a cool breezy day.
Peace
Betina McCadney
I recently began working out here on weekends after an 8-10 year break from coming here. They put in railing of sorts. Wow how did I make it before without it!?
Lizbeth Romero
Ideal for a moderate hike, or a casual walk. I also love the view, and it's become my favorite place to watch the sunrise.
Tessa
This was an amazing hike with views, not far from where I stayed in Culver City. Felt like I could concur the world after my morning hike here. Relatively easy hike, but be sure to catch your breath when needed while going uphill. I love the stairs...they gave my legs a much needed workout.
Brian Roy
On a clear day, the views are spectacular. Try to go the day after it rains because it will clear the smog out of the valleys and the mountains will be snow capped.
Christopher Roman
Popular place to get a quick workout! Park on the street at the bottom, and take the stairs or the more gradually inclining path to the top. Even if you take in the view and take some detours along the walking trails at the top, it won't take much longer than 30 minutes. Definitely worth a visit!
CXN& Links
I love this place is very good for any athlete, person, who likes to exercise or hike. The place is great to explore there are lots of animals, rabbits, hares, moles, etc.
Jackie Chiu
Beautiful view of LA! Word of warning, if you take the stairs, it is definitely a bit of a workout and can be hard on your knees going down. Kids might have a hard time (adults should be fine as long as they take breaks if they need it)
James Nguyen
Nice little stair hike but don't be fooled. Your quads will suffer. Great spot
Rob B
Been here twice. Originally found it because it shared my last name. I love that there's multiple ways to get here and the scenic view is great
J. Bravo
This place is MAGICAL! It's surrounded by main roads and city life but it can offer you all the nature you may need: trees, plants, animals (i.e. lizards, rabbits, hawks, etc.). Once you reach the top, the views are magnificent - particularly later in the day as the sun comes down. If you come in a clear day, you can easily see the Hollywood sign, DTLA, and the ocean. This place is also a hub for people looking to get a challenging workout: dirt trails, big-block stairs (aka Culver City stairs), and a paved road that lead you to the top and bottom. You can certainly get creative with how rigorous you want your workout to be. Parking is not exactly easy to find, but people are constantly leaving. However, if you come between 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, it's probably best to park down the street. In all, you *must* visit this park!
May C
Wear comfortable clothes and good tennis shoes. The views are breathtaking and the workout can be modified in intensity to your liking. You can choose to climb up the hill on the Culver City stairs or take a hike up a more traditional route.
Alejandra Mikulan
Nice place to work out, there’s bathrooms and water at the top. It looks good but a little bit too dry. I go running there at least once a day. There’s also food trucks (I’m not a big fan of them but if you’re into working out and then eating it can be a plus for you)
Stormie Leoni
One of the best parts of town! Whether you want a short and not too tough uphill hike, or a sprint up the Culver City Stairs you have options here and FABULOUS views. This is a great spot for visitors who want a "hike," but don't really want a hike. I would say light to moderate hike here and big reward at the end with the Overlook. Bring your friends and enjoy!
Mohamed Zaid Fayyaz
This place definitely lived up to the hype!
One of the best hikes in LA with a sweeping views of the city unparalleled to any other hike in the city.
Moises Trujillo
sick view, like the environment and all, great place to jogg or to run, sunset is lit 🔥 …
Shashidhar Desai
Really like this place. I go here regularly, the scenic view of LA from top of the hill is sooperb..the view makes it all worth the effort of walking/running using the steps or the trail path ! It's a little crowded during weekend. Street parking is available !
Steve Rosenberger
I've lived in West Hollywood for 10 years without visiting this incredible spot. Until this week. Wow.
As I climbed to the top of the Culver steps——j/k lol
As I drove, latte in hand, the winding road to the top, I was reminded of SF's Twin Peaks. This is LA's version of the magnificent midcity mountaintop perch.
The view from Griffith Observatory is a real showstopper, especially at night. But if you want to take in the full sweep of the LA Basin, head to Baldwin Hills.
A powerful rainstorm had just come through, scrubbing the atmosphere clean. The snowcapped San Gabriels stretched from 10,000ft Mt Baldy in the east, providing a dramatic backdrop for the LA skyline and the Hollywood Hills/Santa Monica mountains which run 30 miles west from Hollywood into the Pacific Ocean at Point Dume.
From here you can trace the entire 16-mile length of Wilshire Blvd, running like a river of commercial development from DTLA through Westlake, Koreatown, the Miracle Mile, Beverly Hills, Century City, Westwood, all the way to Santa Monica. The view extends 30 miles out to sea, including the arc of coastline from Malibu's Pt Dume south to Palos Verdes and Catalina.
One caveat: I got lucky, visiting this scenic overlook on one of the clearest days of 2019. You may not be as fortunate. For starters, there's only snow on the mountains in winter, and not always this much. Then there's that famous smog. It's better than it used to be. When you look up the sky is always blue. But get a few hundred feet off the ground and the view across the city can often be marred by a layer of gray-brown smudge. You have been warned.
Also, the park closes at sunset. It's a fantastic spot to watch that spectacle. But if you want the twinkling lights of nighttime Los Angeles, head to the Observatory.
Azucena Alvarado
It’s one of my favorite spot to hike and watch the city. Beautiful view.
Moo Bin Lee
Wow... what a beautiful hike this place is and it has so much to offer!
You can either park on the side of the road before you make the park entrance (which most people do) and hike up the very steep hil/road or drive up and park in the upper lot so you don’t have to suffer as much and still enjoy the hike (: for the lazy people like myself!
I love starting off my mornings with a nice walk and Baldwin Hills has got to be my favorite because you get a 360 view of all of LA! Highly recommend you come here bright and early before the sun comes out and because it gets super packed! Highly highly recommend you check this trail out as it’s easily one of my favorites close to Culver City.
Ms. Tyra
The views are magnificent! From certain spots, you have a 360 degree view of L.A. It was 108 degrees the day we went, so we didn't stay as long as we would have liked. Saw rabbits, lizards, and a roadrunner. Loved the nature! Can't wait to go back when it's not as hot.
Wld Sms
Very nice place to exercise and enjoy a nice view of the city.
Kaela Gallagher
The park is beautiful with gorgeous views of the city. If you want a tough workout, you can climb 282 vertical stairs to the top of the hill. There are street vendors selling juices as you enter and a museum at the top.
breddairie
Now, this is a free gym membership LOL. This is a great workout for all levels from beginners to experts. You don't even have to climb the stairs, the trail to the top is also a good workout. I love that once you get almost to the top, there's two trails, one leading to the parking lot and the other leading up to the top. Another bonus is that there is a visitor center where you can learn about how Baldwin hills scenic overlook became and the surrounding wild life. It has clean restrooms, a water refill station and if you don't want to hike up, you can drive up and pay for parking but where's the fun in that.
Nancy C
Had a great first day there! Didn't know what to expect other than it would get crowded! Best to go early if you can, we got there by 830am so it was more people then by 930am it was challenging to manuever around! Stairs were uneven and narrow so because going up and watch out for people going down!
John Strutz
Amazing view take the long route if you are afraid of giant stairs or getting winded!
Francine Maximiliano
It took us a bunch of time to get to the top, my short legs couldn’t climb faster, but this is not a complaint, for the view we got while taking the steps led me to a state of awe. If I lived nearby definitely it would be my workout space.
Btw, do NOT even think about forgetting to fill you water bottle before going there!!!
Jeff Liwag
Great, short, moderately challenging hike in the city. You can take the short, steeper steps of the longer paved path on the other side. There are great views at the top. Multiple trash cans at both ends of the trail.
Smevin Bravis
Parking is a pain, but you don't really care anymore once you hit the trail. the stairs offer excellent exercise, the views up top are relentless (they really give it to you man, just sayin), and the lil mini-museum up top is fascinating.
Tiffany
Beautiful hike with various side trails that lead to parks, the steps can be a little steep but you have the option of taking the flatter side paths! Perks to the hike: LA murals, monarch butterfly garden with yoga classes (at one of the LA rec parks)!
Jordan W
A great spot for watching meteor showers/lunar eclipses. Also super nice for sunsets. It's chilly up there, and damp, so dress a little warmer.
However. The stairs up are akin to corporeal punishment. Whoever designed those steps was either a mountain climber, sadomasochist, or both. The alternative is entering through the parking lot and walking for a while through trails.
Katrina Dillon
Such a great hike on the Westside!
M P
Great views at this overlook. But why no benches?
Mike Doose
Always crowded on weekends and hard to keep 6 feet from others on the stairs, but still a good place to get your steps in!
lawrence thomas
One of the best view of the city in Los Angeles . Great walking trails to get a work out in . Parking can be a little hard at certain time but it is worth it
Thomas Young
If you agree looking for a great workout with a beautiful view then this is the spot! Great environment and a wonderful view to the city.
Michael P
Great place to excercise. I you want to enjoy some fresh air and workout at the same time. This is a great spot. And not to mention the view!
Alison Carter
Beautiful place to see great views of LA from downtown to the ocean. Sunset is a great time to get beautiful and colorful views. Just expect to see a lot of people taking pictures and doing photo shoots.
Ismael Hidalgo
I enjoyed the trail. Once you reach the overlook, you will have a nice view of culver city and Los Angeles on the horizon. The steps was a good challenge. Hiking this trail is a good break from the bustling city below
Drew Borboa
Massive steps. Great hike. Beautiful view. My girl even threw up. Overall 10/10 would recommend
Wayne Kimball, Jr.
Great place for a solid workout, whether climbing the stairs, running/walking, or doing yoga! You can also take in views of downtown LA, Century City, Warner Bro water tower, etc.
Albert Lok
One of the quickest and most intense hikes that's nearby the West LA area. Views of LA are great on a clear day (especially after rain) but it can get really crowded with lots of people working out. If you're looking for nature in LA, don't get your hopes up but this place comes close if you're not that picky. The stairs are kind of at an awkward height but make for a good workout!
Lacey Seaton
What a great spot! Easily accessible, lovely drive through Culver City to get there. Beautiful views of the valley and the coast. Wildflowers. Restrooms. Nice trails.
Edward Cotton
Going kill a fat boy. Nice views at the top of those steps. Killer steps. Nice to see all races of people of all ages working those thighs up that hill. Restrooms at the top. I'm not sure what's up with the cottontail bunny infestation, I have never ever seen that many rabbits in my life. 1 every 10 feet. You can also bird watch.
Steven Jankiewicz
Very fun and exciting hike.
Kizel M.
The incline was not that hard. I enjoyed the scenery and had a good workout.
TheJcrealc
One of the best places to hike in town, the views are awesome and even though it's a short distance is not an easy trail
Roblos
Long staircase is shortcut to hill top, you can also hiking longer distance but easier to top. Amazing view while you arrived hill top. Good for exercise.
Michael Watson
These are the Culver City stairs. They are really cool and you get amazing views from the top. The steps are super steep though and they get really crowded but it's totally worth it
Marco Escalante
If you like to walk and enjoy the ocean view this the nice place.
Aaron Novak
Take the easy way up through the path or challenge your legs and go up the stairs, either way when the weather is beautiful it’s a great view of the city from the top
A Fisch
The stairs are a moderately challenging climb. We did two passes which took about 45 minutes. While coming in the morning is ideal to beat the heat, we would encourage you to go mid day to avoid crowds. The climb is significantly more challenging when you have to start and stop in traffic. 5 stars for a calf and quad workout.
Frank Wuts
It is a great workout with wonderful views. Be warned the stairs are very uneven and you shouldn't try to run on them.
Kelly Stuart
In the middle if the city you can climb straight up a “mountain” via these intense stairs to get a view that stretches across LA. A quick trip into nature, nice paths that circle the hill, a fitness area, a place to work out or contemplate the landscape.
Sam Baik
We took the switchbacks which is easier on the knees. If u can go straight up, it looks like a stairway to heaven. Make sure to play ur Zeppelin playlist baby.
I thought the paths were a little narrow esp w omicron going on but all good.
Would do again.
Angelica Elsen
One of the best views I've seen in LA. Such a beautiful trail and their modern feel and viewing areas are comfortable and welcoming.
Andrew Rickert
I wish I had discovered it sooner! Great views of the west side and all the way to downtown. A really nice bit of nature with sprawling trails.
Tinger Chuu
Beautiful view and a great workout. You can take the stairs all the way up like a badass, or you can take it easy and take the trails that’s not very steep. It both leads to the top with amazing city views. Bring plenty water and a light jacket with you.
Shneur
I drove up to the parking lot. Small fee to park. Watch out for hikers/joggers. Free parking on the street level.
Great views of the city from the top. Option to walk, jog or bike up/down the hill.
Museum on top with history of the place. Clean bathroom on site.

Peaceful at night. There are a lot of people so it's fairly safe
Monica Guevara
There are a couple different paths to get up the hill to the overlook. One way is via the “steps” and is the most popular but also the more grueling of the two methods due to the steepness of the hill. The other is via a paved sidewalk to the right. Please note that there are no dogs/pets allowed anywhere other than the paved portions and you will not be able to go to the overlook section with a pet.
There are bathrooms at the top and great views of downtown, Culver City and a century City from the top. I as an out of shape person can make it big ways but am definitely sore if I take the stair route. Due to the steepness make sure you take proper footwear (i.e. no flip flops).
The Nichole Cruz
If you’re ever looking for a place to get a good workout I’m nature among likeminded people, this is your place. You can choose to walk up the stairs to the top of the mountain, which is a great leg and cardiovascular workout. Or you can go up the service road which is challenging as well. The stairs can get kind of congested during peak hours, but everyone is always friendly and adds to the great energy. There is street parking as well as metered parking.
Sarah Truesdell (Sugar by Sarah)
I’ve been hiking the culver stairs for many years now. The recent upgrades to the trail and bike path up the hill are welcome. My favorite views of the city and hills are here. Keep an eye out for bunnies who like the bushes at the top.
Mario A
Nice short trail.
The stairs are a ok burn.
Great view of LA
Michael Fisk
Scenic views. Plus beautifully manicured and maintained. Feels clean and safe too.
Russ Lacuata
Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook provides a grand view of Los Angeles that extends to Santa Monica and Hollywood Hills.
Here you take the stairs to go up or the dirt trails.
Ronald Parrish
This Is An Amazing Park To Visit. They Have Many "Hiking Trails, Work Out Machines, Picnic Areas, Fishing Ponds, Koi Ponds, Etc. It's A Wonderful Place To Visit....
Silva Boghosian
Steep but good burn...great place to tone up...too bad we dont have these stairs in every city. Great views up top
Audrey Harris-Culver
Good workout and gorgeous views!
Anntoinette Toni Lyric Lady Montgomery
It's a lovely spot. Great views, lots of cool things to see.
Geoffrey Holtsclaw
I've been to this overlook several times now. It's a great hike up. You can either take the stairs to get your heart pounding or take a casual stroll along the winding path to the top. Amazing views of the whole city for minimal effort!
Albert G
Awesome place to workout. It's a hill you can get up to by stairs or a hike. They also have a workout station with pull up bars.
Trisia Ruiz
Great place for hiking and workout ..stairs are steep but goood to see view
Ted Kaufmann
Great views towards downtown and Culver City.
Sagar Soni
Great place to quickly get away from the city life in LA. I would recommend it to anyone that just wants an hour or so of nature before going out in the town.
Yenni Rivera
A bit crowded now though safer than a gym since its outdoors and no contact with others or equipment.....plus love the view up there! Worth the 300 steps up....Its theraphy....
Shianti Lee
I love going here, I havent been in a while since my window was busted out and my bag stolen but the workout is great and the loop doesnt take long. In addition they have repaired the issues with the stairs and feels like less than a death trap
Kalidian Stoner
Let’s go for a hike or climb the stairs to heaven. Great place to get a nice workout in
Van Doan
Great place to go on a hike in LA. If possible, take the Metro (Expo Line) to this hiking spot to burn even more calories. The view of LA is breathtaking once you get to the top. There are a few ways to get to the top--for a more challenging workout, take the stairs to the top
Simon Peter deVeer
One of the best quick city hikes. Dirt path or stairs. Dogs on leash. Can wind around & make it as challenging as you're up for
Mark Andrade
Gorgeous overlook that is not too far from the LA Metropolitan area. Plenty of trails with plant diversity among them. The Culver City stairs will bring you atop this overlook, or you can also drive up or park below. Parking is automated and usually available at the top lot. The entire area is kept very clean. There's also info bulletins containing diversity info of plants and animals you may come across while roaming the trails. It's packed quite quickly after its opening, but it isn't too hard to find spots for solitude.
Cynthia Mason
Very enjoyable hike. Lots of people so that provides motivation. I have only tried to trails so far but am working my way to try the stairs, which are much more challenging. The only downside is for the folks who insist on bringing their dogs in spite of the signs that say no dogs.
Natasha Thomas
Great place for exercise and views
Maurice J. Jordan
First time there, great walk, met nice ppl wonderful atmosphere...
Alec Teh
I made it out here on one warm Monday evening. Truly a beautiful sight of the city. The sunset was a rich mix of purple and yellow, the crowd gathered to watch old orange ball descend into the ocean. I definitely hope to make it back here!
David Weinberger
Great views at the top. Make sure to get there on a clear day!
And good luck finding parking. This is a very popular trail...
Cathy Pope
Great place to get your stairs on. It's very busy in the morning and relatively slows down closer to noon. The trail down is hard to find but the stairs are a straight shot.
Tommy
Awesome 360 view of LA area at the top of the hill. If you don't exercise at least 4 times a week, taking the stairs to the top is pretty difficult to climb without taking at least a few breaks. You can take the longer walking route if you wanna take your time a bit more. Either way, it's all worth it.
Diane Perez
Always an amazing view no matter the weather
Angel Ricardo
Best times 5-530am. Way less people and more parking. Cool morning helps climb the stairs.
christopher paprocki
Beautiful views of the city… this place is a must for any visitor or long time resident of Los Angeles.
There are stairs to the top or a hiking path that curves it’s way up the hill. Once you arrive to the top, be sure to take in the 360 degree views of the city… better on clear days.
Dana Lopez-Spiller
It was a good sweat to get to the top. The view was incredible! For an east coast gal it was truly breathtaking. Bring some water and of course wear comfortable sneakers. If you can, plan to go at sunset - it is so gorgeous!
Kay Karyn
Did the Culver city stairs. Tough but worth it. The side paths were very chill. The views were amazing.
Laurel Faher
Good amount of street parking
Juice food trucks around the entrance
Long staircase and snaking path options
Norma Mejia
Great for getting a good workout. Also, if you love hiking, totally recommend this place.
Ashley Rodriguez
So clean and beautiful! I mean it’s stunning during MAY! Go in the summer and you won’t see so many beautiful flowers 😆 …
Sendhil Kolandaivel
Great place for a short hike. The steps are challenging, but you can rest where trail crosses the steps and enjoy the view. The views are amazing on a clear day, as you can see the Ocean and Downtown LA and beyond.
Ash
A nice little urban hike with great views of the city!
Julia Ceron
Cool bunch of stairs. Super work-out! Totally recommend on a cloudy and not too hot day.
Monette Davis-Crittendon
It was my first time going and it wasn't all as bad as I thought. But them first flight of stairs definitely will get you and as you go along it gets easier. Next time I'll try to do it 2 times and then do the trail.
Terry Adams
Amazing views of downtown from here, and a great work out!
Michael Paul
What an amazing place to get a great workout in, this place is one of my favorite place to get a great workout in. I usually come here in the morning and start the day !

This is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the city. They have gorgeous places to sit. The best stairs to climb. Hiking here is always amazing it’s always clean.
Jeff McLean
Best local hike for a good cardio hit
Lindsay Enita
As a newbie to LA, I was thoroughly impressed with the hike and the scene! I’ll definitely be back!
Angela Auer
One of my favorite workouts! It's best walking up steps and taking a side trail down. Restrooms are at the top
Gary Roisentul
Stairs are deeper and steeper than you think. Watch your knees.
Mike Mackintosh
Love this place. calm quiet and serene. It's great for a heart-pounding workout or a calm and relaxing walk overlooking the westside of LA!
Ceci Ramos
Calm scenic, and you get to see little animals in nature. The lizards are cute and of course the bunnies too.
Pastor Stine
The best climb with the vista on top as the richest reward!
VideoChick LA
Booty workout on 💯!!! If you do the stairs option be mindful that this is high impact on your knees!!!! You can hike as an alternative to the top. Enjoy! …
Eddie Herrera
They are not your ordinary steps... and they're tower of Babylon-esque in size and height... would not advise eating an fast food before hand... as I had a delicious double quarter pounder from McDonald's on my way there... and proceeded to fart on every step I scaled...
Lori Milligan
Great place to get out and into nature. Take the stairs if you need a rigorous workout or dirt path if you just want a leisure walk. Either way you won't be disappointed with the incredible view of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Sign.
Rob Garcia
Great place to work out, it's a tough hill, but worth it.
Geovanni Ramirez
Its a good place to workout and see a good view from the top to see all of L.A.
Corina Lange
I nearly passed out after ascending the stairs from dehydration, but otherwise, this location is a fantastic nature gem you do not want to miss out on. The stairs offer a nice climb to the overlook, but be careful on the descent, as it is a bit slippery from dirt. There are an abundance of trail offshoots to walk or run on at the top, as well as restrooms, and you can see a panoramic view of the surrounding LA area! Parking is decent if you go early enough in the day, and it is free on the side of the street opposite from the stairs. Bring water (and maybe a pair of weights if you want a really good workout), and prepare to have a nice time and see some cool views.
Julie Togiola
Great trail behind the steps that lead to la Brea and back to Obama. Very beautiful.
Tory H
Great place to exercise and commune with nature! Recent rehab means the hill is green and full of wildlife. The steps are tough but the view is worth it. Say hi to your neighbors as you climb!
Dimetrios “Dee” Vandiegriff
One of my FAV places to hike! Great 360° views which allow you to see the coast, the Hollywood Sign and DTLA!
JulioCesar Rodriguez
360° views of Los Angeles, beautiful, clear, nice place to walk, exercise o simple look the city, almost 360 view
Jesse
Stair to heaven are a lot harder than they look to climb. Bring you family. No dogs or bikes.
Kristy Wu
I climbed the stairs at night so it was quite hard to see. But, it was worth it! It was a workout too lol. I would come back again for both the scenery and if I need to contemplate life.
Irteza Arif
Nice little hike up 200ish steps or optionally a less steep and more horizontal scaling option. Free 2 hr parking. Great views of the city. Do check the weather before going. It does get windy and cold the higher you go.
Cristian
This place is dope. Has a lot of free parking available and has a great views of the surrounding Los Angeles area. Well worth a visit for those that are athletic or those that just want to spend time away from home or others. The stairs offer a challenge to those that want to get in some grueling exercise.
Kim Kelley
Excellent parking, friendly people, 290 steps of different size, very good workout and a good view point to see the ocean, Westwood Beverley Hills, Holly Wood and Downtown Los Angeles.
Zach Newman
steep stairs (pretty decent workout) to a nice vista looking north toward k town and downtown
De Fra
What a great way to start the day.
Laphea
Good view for sunsets
Heena
Gorgeous view and a great way to get exercise, though you can take a car to the top. Bring water and try to catch the sunset.
Margarita Rodriguez
Beautiful view!
Debbie Nik
Breathe taking climb, breath taking view. The stairs are great leg and cardio workout, with a gorgeous view when you get to the top. There's also a trail you can follow to the top.
F G
Hiking, walking, dog walking, great views, various grades and dificulties... most of the parking on Jefferson at the meter unfortunately.
Sharon Gonzalez
Frist time today going to trail love it spent 2 hours enjoying the scenery the challenge was the stairs
Un known
First time here... Nice view but it's really tiring to climb up the steep stairs but I think it was worth it
Faima Bannister
Absolutely loved it, went around sunset & it was beautiful! Heads up, some of the steps are huge, so just be careful.
Margarita Bautista
Great views and those stairs man! gotta love them!😍 …
D S
Nice hike..glad to see the renovations in progress.
Reginald Queen
You will sweat. You will run out of breath. You will never jog up and down these stairs, ever. The biggest downside is the unevenness of the stairs. It takes a lot of work to find a pace which makes this a bit more grueling than some would want.
Jorge Moreno
This is a pretty good place to get some physical strength. 2 times upside and you're done
Kendra Williams
I have been meaning to get here for years. The hike is not challenging (unless you run it) and is quite relaxing. The stairs dont seem like they are challenging but they are. I did it a couple times and my legs were feeling it a couple days after. Go early as it gets crowded. It can be challenging getting around slower people and their children. Great workout! Amazing views! And stop by the food trucks for after workout beverages and fruit bowls.
Fly Mamma
If U need a place to let it all go n face yourself... its close it's in the city... beautiful views... major challenge
Kevin Hinton
Great view of LA and the ocean! This park is also very popular for its stairs and becomes very busy on the weekends with people exercising!

Antoinette Morris
Best place to hike of youwant to get in shape

Nice place to view the sunset
Stephanie McIlroy
The stairs were no joke! Amazing view and quick way to burn lots of calories and get that heart rate up!
Paul Montalvo
Very beautiful place for relaxing from the city and nice view of surrounding cities and most of all peaceful. Oh yeah they a massive stairway up the hill but they also have a normal ramp to walk up or you can drive up your choice.
Maggie Ramirez
Super nice and beautiful atmosphere. Great for pictures and hiking.
John Otu
Place didn't look as nice and maintained as it is in pictures. But the views were great

santhosh kumar
Good workout place n scenic view
Ahmed Mulla
Amazing view. We can see the whole city.
nahid akram
Nice spot, excruciating stairs if you go up without resting. The view from the top is worth it. Then can jog down the gentle slope. There are some food trucks at the entrance, juices in those after the hike feels so damn refreshing!
Maria Maria
Options. Stairs are a killer.....trail is nice work out to
Jeff Brandon
Nice little park with great views of downtown LA, and mountains off in the distance. If the weather is nice you could get great views of the ocean and mountains all in one place. The hike is not too hard but will definitely get you breathing, and more likely than not, sweating too.
Tasha A
First visit here. This is a real hike. Great exercise. Lots of small wildlife like rabbits, something that looked like a small squirrel and tiny little lizards. You can walk the trail or take the stairs to the hilltop. Nice workout.
Kris Israel
nice views but pretty crowded
Diana A. Valdez
Such an great place. You can hike, jog, and my favorite, go up the long stairs. Place is kept clean, but the coffee shop was closed. Oh and they have restrooms available.
Andres Linares
Loved my first time experience there
Beita Miles
Always a good hike! They are starting some repairs and cutting back the overgrown weeds.
Suzanne Hoffmann
Really nice place to walk in the city. Beautiful views in nice weather. Highly recommend it.
Angela McNeal
Love going for hikes here. I don't do the stairs but still get my heart rate up enjoying the different trails
Monroeglam Monroeglam
Love this place, it really is a full body workout. The amount of ppl that go depends on the days, Monday through Thursday if you go early 6/7am it's less ppl but on the weekend...it's already getting busy. By 9am mon to Thursday, parking is still ok but in the weekends...good luck. Regardless, I go anytime between 6 and 12 and almost always find parking on the first try, sometimes I circle 2xs on weekends. The scenery and the workout is worth the drive out there. The steps themselves are tough but if your family is active, it is family friendly especially because at the end of each set of steps there are routes to walk instead of continuing with the steps. I personally would not recommend really young kids to go but I do see a lot of kids there. Also I see signs that pets or dogs are not allowed. At the bottom you will find fruit vendors, healthy shakes, acai bowels and drinks being sold by different vendors.
Christine C
One of my new favorite spots for a quick hike! Pro tip- don’t look back until you’ve reached the top!
O VSOG.
It's a GREAT place to run and work out , and a GREAT place to just get away! Time for yourself...
courtney tindal
Amazing day
D C
Great view with walking trails, the parking up top is free, not bad for a light hike because there are two or so different routes for the trails.
Danny Chen
Great short intense climb, go up a few times for a full workout
nicole mavingire
This is a beautiful but challenging uphill hike with a beautiful view before the smog lifts and turns everything brown-grey lol. It's free to park on the street but it's hard to find a spot. There is also paid parking inside the park (just follow the signs). Masks are mandatory so bring one or you could get a fine if a park ranger sees you!
W C
Def good up hill/ down hill and stair workouts. Be careful on the stairs since the steps are not equal distance/ height. There is a place up hill with pull up bars and noticed people carried their own weight equipment up there to workout and enjoy the view. Good view of LA, especially when there is no smog (which is rare).
Marc Forde
If you are wanting to get in shape without the monthly fee and enjoy the great outdoors then this is most definitely the place to be! Low impact of the surfaced road or high impact of the stairs, there is something for everyone. You might just meet someone new. Get in shape you will though. Bring water.
Eugenia Bernabe
I love it !
Excellent place to work out
Priyamvada R Mahesh
Omg... such a beautiful place !! Greattttttt hike! Do-able!
Julianne Zuccardi
Love the stairs and the view. Perfect nature break in the middle of the city.
Amy Garcia
It’s an intense workout so definitely bring water and make sure you have had something good to eat. Nothing to light but nothing too much. Just to be sure you have something in your tummy. It’s one of me fave places to workout! And the scenery is always beautiful and it feels awesome when you made it to the top.
Ajay Kumar K
Small trail to great views of Hollywood sign, evening sunset, DTLA, ocean. Can take the stairs or the trail. I suggest taking the trail after first couple of steps.
Stairs lead directly to the top of the overlook.
Cheryl Henke
The new hike trails to Culver city park are fantastic! Best ever outdoor gym!!!
Shane C.
Cool overlook of L.A. take the steps up or the pathway...
Ernesto Duque
Nice place for hiking & views amazing.
Mike Roy
Beautiful view of west LA! The hike itself isn’t challenging, more like a dirt path, but the stairs will get ya! I like climbing to the top and then doing some body-weight exercises up there while enjoying this incredible view.
Kim Hendricks
Great place to see a lot of LA
Jorge Martinezjr91
I had a great time here on 4th of July. I parked like 2 miles away but the walk was worth it. It was a good exercise forsure going up the hills but i had drinks and snacks. I like this place it has alot of nice views good too take pictures.
Eileen Felix
Kid friendly. There is a easy road and the stairs. Multiple paths up, road for pushing strollers and stairs for working 💪 legs. Restroom and water fountain on top. Also fruit vendors and juice vendors aways there at the bottom waiting ur return.
Dog friendly* Would not recommend for pregnant woman.
Beautiful 😍 360 view on top worth the sweat.
Stefen Hill
These are some serious stairs! If you can do a couple walks up and down, you're doing well for your workout for the day. Some people run these, more power to them lol the view is awesome once you get to the top and there's a rest/bench area when you get to the top.
Anthony Gliganic
Nice views, great for leg day and hill runs. Typically crowded.
Andrew G Kelly
Earlier the better here for sunrise, parking and avoiding a crowd.
Shane Conrad-Davis
Tons of steps matched only by tons of views. Enjoy LA. 😌😉 …
Iwuchukwu
Very verdant this time of the year! Follow the paths and find the tucked away spots
AC (Arielle)
Gorgeous place! Parking lot isn't huge but I didn't have a hard time finding a spot. They have a nice nature center that appear to be offering classes. Some wildflowers are blooming this time of year. Will go again!
Shaloth
Long flight of stairs for a night leg work out. Or you can do the alternative and walk up the windy path that leads to the same place at the top! Great view once you are at the top
Jo'nez Cain
I absolutely loved it! I was intimidated upon arrival and first look BUT honey I made it. I have a back and neck injury so you are free to climb at your own pace.
Lou Garza
Biggest surprise..you dont think is that interesting and beautiful until you go up and see that amaizing conservation center with modern architecture, great landscape, beautiful gardens with native nature and animals. A big lovely surpise in the middle of the city. Love it love it.
REYNALDO BLANDON
Grrrrreat view and good spot to exercise.
Sonika Veeramneni
A very nice, pleasant place to enjoy the sunset and get a view of the city. The hike is definitely a good workout, though it doesn’t seem like that and simultaneously gives you a chance to enjoy the breeze as you walk through the trail. One wouldn’t definitely regret going there!
Jonathan Campbell
Baldwin Hills and the Culver Stairs have always been a favorite of mine for hill runs and stair climbing, and with recent renovations the place has even more to recommend it. Plenty of (free) places to park, in parking lots and on surrounding streets. Generally a fair amount of fellow walkers and runners, but never crazy-crowded like Runyon. Great views from the top of Downtown and West L.A. landmarks, and water fountains and bathrooms at the top of the hill. Not as pretty as our canyon trails, but still nice, easy to get to and park at, and though dogs aren’t allowed on the trails, there is the Boneyard dog park on one end of the trail. Fun for everyone :)
Robert M
There are two ways to get up here, one is to walk the steps and the other is to drive. Although I'm sure my cardiologists would have preferred me to take the steps I used the excuse that one person in my group could not have walked them. I've been up here before, and I would certainly recommend picking a very clear day, but even on a day that was partly overcast the view was spectacular. The northern half of the LA basin is laid out for you to see, from the beaches, the airport and the ocean, to Santa Monica, Century City, Hollywood, and downtown.
Mark Liu
A great place for an amazing workout. We go there all the time. Also very kid friendly; ours have been hiking there since they were 2. The stairs will be tough for young kids, but definite feasible (with a lot of help!).
Once up top be sure to check out the nature center, in addition to taking in the panoramic views of LA.
carlos torres
Great workout if you take the stairs. Nice views when you get to the top. The stairs and trails are all sun so I'd suggest going early or in the evening time.
Vanessa H
Love this hiking trail. Two options. You can take the famous culver city stairs if you are brave. Second option is the trail path for those who just want to walk and talk. This path also go up hill therefore be careful, safe and enjoy the city view when reach the top.😍 …
Dumnoi
Great place for working out! We did two rounds of going up and down these nearly 300 stairs and loved it. Great view of Culver City on top of the hill. There’s a workout station on the hill also. And we had healthy drinks from the drink truck that parked right at the bottom of the hill, so refreshing!
Jason Shah
Nice place with multiple trail options to the top!
michael koon
Great spot for morning workouts. Decent stair climb and.5 mile jog down.
Stone Brim
A most fulfilling adventure once you make it to the top! Can't beat the view anywhere in L.A.
Rubi Rojo
This is a great place to go work out, the stairs are a challenge but you can also hike. Go early to get street parking because it get crowded pretty fast.
Saleh Aliari
Great place fort training. Short climb, stairs. You can return on a trail to avoid using stairs for going back down. Some stairs are unavoidable here, but not many. You can use a paved road to hug up.
Nada Ismaiel
Really tough stairs climb to the top! Take breaks and drink plenty of water! But the views are stunning! And if you go just before sunset it is pretty to watch!

This hiking spot has an amazing and gorgeous view once you get to the top. Definitely check this place out! It is a pretty easy hike, if you sticK to the stairs, but if they're too difficult, the looping around hike isn't so bad. Besides, California is NOT HUMID, you can do this hike a few times.
This is a great way to get a full body workout without a gym. I absolutely loved my hike here, I may return if I'll in the area. The view and the intensity of the hike is what will bring me back. So glad I came here!
ARR
Rather crowded but a nice place for an evening workout and sunset.
Gesi “Kimmy” Walker
Great scenic and excercise place to visit anytime of the day.
Jose Ojeda
Great place to hike. Beautiful scenery.
Lliani Orantes
I am a work out freak and these stairs arent your normal stairs. When you climb its lunging each step of the way. Every visitor is motivating to exercise to the fullest. The view is great once you reach the top. After your workout there are juice vendors at the bottom waiting to offer a boost of energy.
Ryan Welch
This place was great. First time ever. Gorgeous visitor center which was sadly closed. Multiple ways to get up and down. Amazing views. I can’t wait to go back. Saw a big ol’ snake, too.
Jason Harrold
Great family park, great place for the community.
There are numerous places for the kids to play, and the family to gather.
Additionally many people come here for a bit of exercise. Walk, run, hike, theres also a number of people who do yoga and other fitness regimes.
The best part of this park is the view of Los Angeles from the top. You really cannot beat it. Its a spectacular view overlook much of the city.
Great place to take photos or watch the sun rise or set.
Ronny Cifuentes
Excelent place to go for a small hike and bring the family.
Fatima Lemus
I come here every once in a while and today discovered a new trail to an area I had not been before. The trails on Google maps are not yet up to date. The stairs can get crowded, be kind, be mindful, be supportive. Grateful for this free outdoor space for us to practice being healthy.
Jennifer Cano
This is a great place to workout. The workouts can be modified to one's fitness level, so it can be as easy or as hard as you make it. There is a small hiking trail and well the stairs are also available and they're usually not crowded and even when filled with people it's still not too crowded. The one downside is the parking situation in rush hour.
Stacy Salguero
Hat to find parking at times; once you make it up, great view.
Darryan Weeks
Nice moderately intense hike. Great scenery. High volume of regular guest. Highly recommended for the beginning hiker and family hiker, not to difficult for the kids. Well earned 5 star rating.
Teresa Pyse
Beautiful 365 views at the top of this insane workout. We decided to walk up the stairs, and jog down the path, which limited our face to face contact with others working out. It was definitely a bit crowded, but most people were wearing masks and trying to be as distanced as possible.
Nhu Trinh
Good place for exercise. Fresh air, nice hill. Try the stair case challenge
Joannie Minera
we took the winding path up and only went down a few flight of stairs but that was enough for my legs to be sore for a week! I can't wait to get stronger and go back again.
Arpan Shah
It is stairs all the way to the top. Good excersize point. Easy parking. Very scenic views.
Deep Mori
Great hike... Not easy not hard.... You can see the whole LA from the top on all sides 🙂 …
lamar m
Beautiful view and nice place for a quick workout. If it’s your first time take a bottle of water and stretch first. There’s a few spots to the side that you can take a break on the way up too.
Anthony Pang
I love this local park- I’d never turn down a chance to hike to the peak and enjoy the panorama of my city.
El Betancourth
Great place to exercise while enjoying an awesome view
Jabari Martin
Great place to get a workout in. Multiple ways to get to the top (stairs, trail, road) so you make it as long or difficult as you like. Nice views of the city once you reach the top too. Oh and there's also a small nature information center to learn more about plants and animals indigenous to the area. Parking can be a little crazy esp when the weather is nice.
Yesica AM
I love this place,. It's a short hike, but non the less you get a good workout. The only bad thing is parking.I mean they do have parking at the top of the hill, its 2 or 3 dollars an hour, but last time i checked they had close down the road leading there because of some construction going on . Street parking is the best option as it is free , for now. Maybe in the future ,along with upgrades, they will start charging there too.. For now all i can say is if you want to get a parking spot make sure to get there early. Other than that be careful not to run over a garden snake :-)
Yaneth R
Lovely place to get some fresh air and get some workout done. The stairs are killers :) but worth it. Amazing view lots of parking spots. Street parking of course. It doesn't matter if its weekend or week is always busy.
alexandra simon
Its really fun to bike and walk to the too of the hills and enjoy the views of most of LA with San Gabriel Mountains at the back. Really beautiful! And the best part, it is so well conditioned you can even do some exercise on the top while enjoying these amazing views.
Will Martin
Well worth the climb!!
Marlen Bonilla
Love this place. Lots of routes to take and take walks or runs. Beautiful scenic areas as well.
T A
This is a great place to drive up, park and take in the view of West LA. The area is often very smoggy, but sometimes, especially after a rain, you get a beautiful, crisp view of the city. I was up here right before dusk and the lights were just coming up. They close the park at dusk and they're pretty strict at getting people out. People exercise, too. It's not rural enough to be considered a hike and it's short but, still a pretty steep climb so you'll get a nice, brisk workout. Good place to take guests so they have a survey of the city.
Incidentally, I came here during the epic fires of 2018 in Malibu. It was roughly 5pm but the sky was so dark from smoke it was dark and eerie, as if the sun had already gone down. Really interesting to view the effects of the fire from here.
Amy Zhou
Nice views, great workout. There's a bathroom and water fountains at the top, and trucks selling smoothies and water at the bottom.
Christine E Gabrielse Lin
Always love coming here for a local walk/escape from the concrete. Especially nice in winter and spring when it's green and the mountains in the distance have snow. You can get some great pictures of downtown with a zoom lens, with the mountains in the background. Good workout too!
Debasmita Banerjee
If you are depressed and need a break from your negative thought patterns, you may want to try it out. This "staircased" hike will feel rewarding when you reach the final destination, the scenic view will cleans your soul and definitely give you good enough vibes to store for a few days. Absolutely recommended!
Arun Patil
It was a marvellous view of Los Angeles and Culver city from top of the Balwin Hills
It was tiresome to climb by steps but enjoyed that climb
Lily Yip
This is an awesome place to check out if you want to get a good stair-climb workout or if you want to go on an easy hike with friends, family or alone.
There's about 100 steps that are all different heights. There are several places where you can step off to the side to catch a breath or enjoy the view.
You can see the ocean and all of West LA, downtown LA, and the Hollywood sign on a very clear day.
This is a great spot for all ages. If you don't want to go up the stairs, there are a few small trails that you can take. I see plenty of people jogging or doing workouts with their yoga mats.
RESTROOMS:
In case you didn't know, they have pretty clean bathrooms once you get to the top. After you walked up all those stairs, take the path towards the right (West side or the side facing the ocean) and you'll find the restrooms located right by the nature center.
PARKING:
You can find free street parking. On a busy morning/day, you may have to walk quite a bit, but you're here to work out anyway, right? :)
Khaleel Muhammad
I come here to workout out. I sometimes run the trial or walk the trial. Or run or walk the stairs. It's getting better with time cause workers are making stairs more safe. I've never encounter any peace breakers. Everyone minds their own business and enjoy their day here. Great view. A circle is on top for meditation or stretching. Also if you smoke tree it's a good place and. It's so much space it won't bother others. Im an athlete tho. I recommend. Restrooms up top none below. Closes at night.
E Lizete Ramirez
Its nice work out. This place just opened and it has more railings installed by the steps. However I noticed people trashing this area with used face masks. And a lot of people are not using face masks. Or people have them around their neck, which is pointless. If you want to come here do it early to avoid the crowds. I got there at 6 am during the week and it was filling up quick.
Aisha Hardaway
The stairs are very difficult, but you always have the option of going up or down the trail. I also love to see the wildlife in the area. Parking can be a nightmare, but if you time it just right you’ll be fine. It’s also free!
Maria Gamboa
My workout place...I love it 🙌
The view is awesome !! …
David Munoz
The first time I went up the stairs I almost had a hard attack lol. I heard some people throw up. Really good work out. Running up stairs is good for your lungs because it makes you breathe faster. Also running up stairs for 1 hour you can burn up to 1000 calories. if you looking for a challenge this is it.
Daniel Soo
Great scenery, iconic Culver City stairs
Somesh Sakriya
Short and simple hike! The view is mesmerizing! ❤️
Dwight Little
beautiful view, but they we're closed and if open required mask to go inside
Tristan Torgersen
Nice reward for a lot of stairs!
Steve B
Great place to appreciate nature in the middle of the city! Great workout too! Beautiful scenery awaits at the top. You can take the stairs or the trail to reach the top. Taking the stairs will be challenge for those who don't exercise regularly. Parking may sometimes be difficult on Jefferson Blvd.
Shawna Johnson
Taking in the sights my family and I took a little hike. Omg the stairs up the hill was intimidating. But I took a gradual incline hike while the younger member tackled the stairs. The scenery was beautiful full of flowers. The view was beautiful. I loved it.
Jennifer Contreras
I love hiking here! My favorite part about the hike is going up all the stairs. The environment feels safe & everyone motivates you to keep going, definitely one of my favorite places to work out
Catherine Gabster
A lovely spot of nature in the middle of a metropolis. Thank goodness for open spaces, native plants and animals. Lots of choices for more or less exercise and lots of friendly people. Amazing panoramic views of LA on a clear day.
Yael de la Torre Calderon
Perfect view of LA
Angel AR
A very good place to get done your workout
Aaliyah Smith
I am not very active and the stairs was an intense workout for me but the view at the top is pretty cool. It almost makes all the your hardship gong up worthwhile. There's some exhibits and garden around. A lot of people do various activities at the summit. Some do more work out and dancing, others take photos (like me). There are more trails to go around once you get there too.
Aaron Bolden
Ran a mile warm up down Obama Blvd and back before conquering the hill to the right side of the stairs. The stairs are great but JOGGING UP that hill will burn off quite a few calories as well as get in some conditioning. It is no joke. More intense than doing two sets of stairs if you ask me.
vince kelly
Awesome views of the city. Nice trails and space, stairs are more of a workout than you expect. Prepare accordingly 🏋🏾♂️ …
Andrew Lin
Great place to watch the sunset
Luz Ornelas
The stairs are easy enough to find. Parking on the street is a little hard but get there early and you'll find a spot. The stairs are pretty steep at times. It was crowded on a Sunday at 8am. Also, a lot of people like to play their music out loud. Bring water and a hat.
LaVeL DeLone
One of my favorite places to workout! Great view up top
Kyle Venning
Decent place and one of the most affordable on the west side. Not far from the beach, right off of the 405 fwy. The only problem is parking. It should be for guest only. Otherwise, you're parking on a street that has limited spaces available.
Mark Cruz
Came at night. Cycled here from about 6 miles away and climbed these stairs with my bike very exhausting. But rewarding when you reach the top. Just make sure to remember to breathe.
Bel Wilson
Great place for meditation, if you can handle the sounds of nature and people. I guess some meditation experts can do it literally anywhere
D Davis
Great place to getaway for exercise. Must be cautious and safe, very few people wear mask, even though they are very close to each other exorcising.
Deadmundo Duran
Great stair for beginners, with optional trails along the sides. The view is what made me give this such a high review.
Anastas Belev
This is a beautiful little park. It's not great for running - the dirt path to the top is only about a mile long and it's pretty steep. The stairs, on the other hand, are a great workout. There's plenty of street parking and food trucks sometimes park in front.
Maria Dien
Challenging 'plein air' workout! We had heard good things about these "Culver City Steps", a dirt and concrete ascent of steps and trail, with a worthy view at the top. The only reason I give it a "4" out of 5 is due to the lack of parking when busy. We circled for 15 minutes prior to walking 1/8 of a mile to the steps - great for the workout; just make sure to allow for the extra time.
KC
A must do in LA! The hike was really fun, and challenging honestly... Mainly because the steps are so tall, but nevertheless. The view at the top is amazing. And the hike is perfect for droning. We had tons of fun flying it around.
Joseph Barjas
Love the view and the trails
Kristofer Nurmia
Nice place to see over the whole city, but the steps are a bit brutal.
Kristin Flederbach
Great views! But parking was tough
Peter Jaegersen
Great views of the entire greater Los Angeles. There's a very busy set of stairs used by people looking to quickly summit the hill or a longer 2-wide dirt trail that winds about 1 mile up the 450feet of elevation. Highly recommended for anyone looking to get some incline running in within the area.
Nani TC
I didn’t get to see much of a view at night as It was gloomy. I have to come back again and again. I love the energy of this place. The stairs are challenging (any route is!) but for a moderate hike this surely makes you break into a sweat! Love love love this spot. Can’t wait to get back and snap a pic in a not so gloomy day.
Anonymous Person
Awesome place to catch a great view of the LA/Hollywood area. You get a full 360° view of entire area however you'll have to move around a few time due to how it setup. Also very popular spot to work out during the morning hours. It also seems like a likely spot to see a celebrity doing some training. No I didn't see any but you could just tell by the type of people that come here there not hurting for money and they didn't seem the type that would lose it if one did plus one of the big movie studio's isn't to far away.
Zonia Rodriguez
I love to walk and feel the fresh air from the morning
Donald Owens
Culver City Stairs : Great Cardio! You have a choice of stairs, a choice of trails or walk /run up the road to the top of the mountain. The road is a combination of cement walkway and asphalt road. A great workout. Parking is available on both sides of street facing the stairs. Parking at this time is "Free". The venue is " Free". The view at the top of the stairs: Unbelievable! Century City, The Ocean, Hollywood Sign, etc. The air : Fresh, The atmosphere , Friendly Folks. Doing two things: Enjoying Nature and getting a good workout.! Free!!!! Can you believe it? Yes , Don Owens told you.....
Lauren Wong
Ahh i love this place. I live about 5 min from it and it's such a nice convenient hiking spot!
Typically there are a lot of people -- it's a popular spot, but I felt that it's still a comfortable hike.
There's a direct route with stairs (quads hurt after this haha) and a windy dirt path. i try to mix it up.
The view on top is awesome!!! absolutely love this hike. it's not too hard and it's right there. check it out!
JUSTiN FONG
Why use the stairmaster at the gym, when you can have the real thing here!? Park on the street near Hetzler and Jefferson (you'll see a big Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook sign) to make your way up the trail to where the stairs start. Of course there's an option to drive up the hill to just take in the view. But we wouldn't be burning any fat would we?
The stairs seem intimidating when you take a quick look at the top, but the workout you get is about average relative to other hikes. From the base to the top is about 0.1 mile at about a 250 ft elevation gain. It took me about 5 minutes. To really get a good burn in, consider going up and down a few times. The view of the 405, DTLA, West LA, etc. is the best part.
Tips:
-The stairs vary in size and shape so be careful unless you want to eat it, especially at night.
-There is a trail with switchbacks and a more gradual elevation gain to the top.
-Don't leave valuables in the car or in plain sight in the car.
-Visitor center at the top is open during business hours.
S Tennyson
"The stairs" are somewhat steep and you have to put in effort to reach the top. Well worth the scenic view. There's a mini interactive museum explaining brief history of the immediate are: native plants and animals.
David Esquivel
Great trail. 1 mile with plenty of turns. Or you can take the stairs to the top. Excellent work out. The view of the LA skyline Is Marvelous!!
Yadira Sesmas
Nice walk. You can go even when the park is closed. Plenty of parking after closure as well.
Super dusty but its a hike so duh
Marco Mendoza
I recently started to combine my hike and the stairs, believe me it is a great work out, lastime I did add some weight to my back pack and it was much better, if you are a beginner take it easy and don't push to much so you can enjoy your work out, if you are consistent soon you will increase your speed and your mileage, we did 10 miles, just in a hot day drink water and sun block.
Michael Praglowski
Park your car at the bottom, and walk up to the top if you want some exercise. Drive up to the top and park to see a great view of the sunset.
Kevin Fraggi (Fraj)
Be very careful if you are going here. There are a TON of people working out without masks or abiding to any kind of social distancing. I have a friend who got the rona shortly after working out here. Scary.
Mar Merritt
Great place to excersice without paying for a gym. Great view. I'm giving 5 stars to the place but beware of disrespectful people that come here with their loud music on speakers as if we all want to hear it. Also a lot of rude groups that are strolling all over the road and do not have the courtesy of moving over for folks walking faster or running. On the weekend they sale acai bowls, so good. There are two trucks to choose from.
Peter Botros
Beautiful view , you can see the Hollywood sign and downtown LA! The stairs aren’t even but it’s still a great workout. Enjoy :)
Pedro Ramos
Great place to exercise and great view.
M. Dickerson
Great place to get your fitness on. Its all uphill. You can take the trails or the stairs. The view is so worth it once you get to the top. Once you're at the top and go down to the left there is an information center that's pretty cool too. Take your own water!!!!
Giovanny R
We love it nice place to walk with my family
Dominick Macksoud
Amazing lookout to get a feel for the vastness of the LA area. You can see Century City as well as downtown LA from the lookout. Hollywood is kind far away and you can’t see the Hollywood sign, but you get a great general view of everything that is LA.
We drove to the top of the lookout, parking is $2. A lot of people were running and biking up and down the hill, but those people are just absolutely nuts and like to torture themselves. But hey, if you’re training for an uphill race or a stairclimbing race it’s an ideal training spot.
Nohemy Barrera
The view is beautiful, but a little sad to look at. Great place to get a little bit of everything.
Fredrica C
Opted out of the stairs this gourmand and stayed mainly on the hiking trail. Brutal I tell ya. Someone planted collard reens along the path tho 😊 For me the workout was better on the switchback hiking trail. …
Troy N
This is one of the greatest places in Culver City! This is a great place to exercise with trails and stairs that end with a stunning view of downtown Los Angeles to the surf.
Sunsets are beautiful to watch from here with a cooling breeze. There's a patio area that can be rented for different functions such as weddings as birthday parties
Uni Severe
Peace of mind & beautiful scenery of the city of Angels💛 Especially in the evening. It's a must go to. There's a trail where you can bike, walk, hike and there's exercise equipment available to the public. Exciting to go by yourself, or even better with someone. The revamp of the Scenic Overlook makes it now that much more enjoyable. Finding a place to connect to nature locally in this busy city can be a task. The city did Justice with making it beautiful again while providing access for us Angelinos to have a healthier lifestyle for mind, body, spirit & community.
Edward Pino
Culver city stairs..great workout, great views!
Miguel Oliveira
Great hiking trail. People love those steap stairs too. Gets busy on weekends. Station at the top has bathrooms...important. Service road is great for hill training on your bike. The Outlook at the top gives you fantastic view over Los Angeles. Majestic.
Marty Zigman
Looks like there is some investment in safety railing with cable lines going in plus the stairs are being filled in where the dirt is exposed. Clearly becoming more popular. I am grateful for such a climb as it is quite the varied experience for working out.
Christine Tran
STRETCH.
Bring water.
Be prepared for a good workout.
You will be sore for a couple of days but after a few times you'll love it.
Parking is a B**** and you will have to walk a few blocks but who cares! You're here because you wanna work on your fitness anyway! So get that heart rate going! :)
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Your feet will appreciate it.
This place gets pretty crowded especially on weekends and afternoons. I came here a few times after work and it was like a zoo. Be courteous, folks!
Rick Rodriguez
Nice place to exercise, Perfect Workout
Andrea Nhuch
Great park, trail and views. Dogs are not allowed on trails, you can only walk on the main road next to the cars. Not ideal place to hike with a dog.
Code Chick
I've seen this park from the Slauson side going into Culver City, in artist's renderings on the Red Line and in Meetup notices, however this was my first visit in living color.
I entered from Jefferson. You wind up a long, steep hill to get to small parking area. Parking starts at $2/hr using a self-pay kiosk.
People are jogging/walking down the hill in the road, so drive slowly. I later noticed trails that run along the side of the road, so those are a better choice. On to the park.
The park seems very newly built and also in progress. There's a Visitor's Center right by the parking with plenty of restrooms. 👍
Several shorts trails wind around that hill area with cool spots for pull-ups, squats, break dancing (yes there's a pad) and related activities.
The northeast side winds down the hill and goes into unknown territory as I left at that time, it was getting dark. I saw women going down it alone which seemed unwise. Stay on the path my friends and use the buddy system in the remote spots.
Enjoy the adventure...!
Heathra King
This was my first time here. Didn't make it to the top but there was no need. Amazing views of the fireworks. I've never seen anything like it. 180° of fireworks magic. I love LA! This hill looks like a buns burner. I'll be back.
mike holguin
Great evening hike.
Vee O.
This is one of the best places for a workout. Whether you do the trails or the stairs you'll leave there feeling refreshed, energetic and liberated from the amazing views. One of my favorite workouts spots!
Jose Robert Ramirez
Haven't been here in a while must say the weather was perfect for a great morning hike. It was somewhat clean.
Jill Manning
This is my favorite local hiking spot. There has been a lot of construction on Hetzler Road recently. I wish people would stay on the designated trails because it causes a lot of destruction to the habitat. Early morning is the best time to hike because it is less crowded. I can't wait for them to finish the trail connectors through Kenneth Hahn Park.
Candice Watts
They don’t allow dogs at the top- can we change that? But otherwise a beautiful view of the city and very well laid out for a morning walk or sunset view. You can climb the steps for an added workout.
Gus Humphrey
Went up for the fireworks on July 4th. Most amazing fireworks display I've ever seen, the entire city starts to light up and you just hear a distant rumble from all of them going off around you. There were thousands going off all around downtown. As long as you get up there early (7:30 or so) you'll get to watch the sun set as well as start to see the skyline light up. Be warned they kicked everyone out around 9:30, so don't get there too late or the hike up those stairs won't be worth it.
Lindsey M
Great scenic park with a fantastic view of LA. Art installations and weekly activities that are fun to watch. Quite a hike uphill if the tiny parking lot at the top is full and it's always full! So bring comfortable shoes.
Michael Morris
Great views of Los Angeles. Quiet, good for reflection. Great place to get a road workout in, with several road, trail, and stair options. Can be a little crowded on the trail, but users are respectful of each other. Vehicle traffic sometimes hampered by pedestrian traffic.
Jennifer Tuley
Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook is so Awesome... Great hiking trails and lots like- minded exercise enthusiast come to burn calories, enjoy postive walks and runs and to enjoy a great view. Has nice public restrooms, and a juice station at the end of your hike. I totally recommend a 5 Stars review
Andrew Devine
This is THE SPOT for introducing folks to LA. Literally take em to the top and while they're catching their breath start pointing -- "That over there is downtown. That there is Santa Monica. Oh, see that structure there? That's the Getty. And over there? The observatory."
The views here can't be beat. GO.
Jordan Zlotolow
Good path. Steep but rewarding.
