I’m new to backpacking and on a quick visit to LR, I was excited to stop into this place. Although I didn’t have a lot of money to spend, Taylor still spent time with me showing me sleeping bags, pads, several backpacks, etc. He patiently answered a ton of questions and helped me pick out a nice backpack. I’m looking forward to building my stash of backpacking gear and hitting the trail with my family. Why shop here instead of a big box outdoor store? #1 reason: you more than likely won’t get a “Taylor” over there. #2-quality. This is not a huge store with a ton of products (although at least that I saw they have plenty of options) but what they do have is high quality stuff. You may pay a little more here than online, but seeing, feeling, and trying things out with full service assistance is worth the extra $. If you’re new to hiking and backpacking, shopping for gear at one of these specialty stores can make you feel like you’re back in high school trying to fit in with the cool kids. But Taylor didn’t have that vibe. He was just humble and great. Wish I lived closer to Ozark Outdoor!

Highly recommend this place in Central Arkansas for outdoor supplies! I have bought several things at this shop over many years. Their customer service always has been great, staff is very knowledgeable, and their inventory is amazing. For example, I was looking to buy rare Yakima round bars as many shops do not carry them anymore back in 2019. They had them in stock in the length I needed. After 3 years, I had an issue with Yakima bars vinyl coating and had to file a warranty claim with Yakima. I did not have a receipt but Ozark Outdoor Supply staff were able to find it for me and email it. It took them some work but they did for me anyways. This shows how dedicated they are for their customer service. I highly recommend this shop!

Taylor was incredibly knowledgeable on hiking boots. After telling him the make and model of my now discontinued boots, he was immediately able to provide me with multiple options that fit similarly. He was also quick and responsive to all requests for assistance. I will definitely be returning here for all my outdoor needs.

Great shop. Helpful, intelligent salespeople - and if the one you ask isn't knowledgeable about your particular subject, they will get someone who is. Prices can get expensive (maybe they should be, for high quality gear) but go when they have a sale and you can save a lot on tons of stuff. Plus, they manage to stock an incredible amount of stuff in their space. Really good people and they've been around a really long time - they must be doing things right!

Genuinely one of my favorite stores. They have so much specialty gear crammed into this place it’s baffling. What’s even more impressive is the fact their staff knows it all like the backs of their hands. I’ve been coming here for years, I’ve bought clothes, packs, pads, paddles, tools, and shoes just to name a few things and I have NEVER had a bad experience. These folks love their products and they want you to love them too. Can’t say enough good things about Ozark!

This place is very cool. They have everything from camping to mountain climbing. Staff is very friendly and always helpful. They are world class and go above and beyond to satisfy the customer. Very convenient location, plenty of other things to do in the area. Park and walk around. Absolutely everything you can think of for outdoors is here. You can literally spend hours in this store. Guys if your wife brings you to the heights to shop, you can spend the whole time in this store while she shops elsewhere. I’ve bought hats, clothes, shoes,fishing stuff,and paddles here. Even a wallet from left over tent material.

I've wanted to like these guys and have shopped here on and off a number of times. My general feeling: everything seems a little too overpriced (more than just we're a mom and pop store not able to compete with online retail) and every interaction I've had with their employees feels awkward. It's a cool store if you need a quick item for the outdoor explorer in your life but the majority of the gear is more suited to exploring Pinnacle State Park than anywhere serious.

Great selection for the square footage. My favorite part is that they give a discount to Boy Scouts (certainly those who reached Eagle). The staff tends to, in my experience, seem like they know more about rock climbing than my interests but I cannot honestly discount a shop for that. I've never had a bad customer experience even when just perusing the newest outdoor kit.

This place is a treasure! My friend and I arrived in town with a week to spend in the Ozarks but no plan for what to do or where to go. We showed up at Ozark Outdoor Supply, and the friendly and knowledgeable people working set us up with a new backpack, gas canisters, maps, and some other supplies. Even better, they shared stories of their own trips and great places to check out. Their recommendations led us to a great week of backpacking through some beautiful and less-traveled spots. From the backpack fit to the trip guidance, it's the the kind of experience that you can't get buying gear online, and made me very happy to have found them.

The staff was very nice and helpful. They showed where to find what I was looking for in the store and the reasons for getting different items. Once they showed you where the items were, they also gave you space to shop and decide what on you want. They even pointed out items that were on sale and how they compared. Parking is difficult because the building is on a busy two lane city street but there is parking within a few blocks. Plenty of items in stock and available for your outdoor recreation needs.

I can't say enough good things about this place. After going to the huge bass pro and not really finding the brand's or items I wanted, (especially trail maps!) A friend suggested this shop as the ultimate place in little rock for outdoors stuff. I called ahead to check on their inventory, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable on the phone and in person. When I asked about trail maps. They pulled out a huge bin of local trails. It was glorious, especially after bass pro had none. Not only that, but the clerk suggested the trail I wanted to hike was going to be flooded out with the recent rains. I gave him my qualifiers, (a loop, water nearby, a waterfall) and he named a nearby trail and gave me some great tips on the surrounding area. Awesome staff, awesome product, awesome location. Parking is a bit tight here. Parallel street parking that was all taken when i arrived, or in the lot of the nearby kroger, I guess.

A small (square footwise), local, outdoor activity, supply store. Small in size but not in products. If you have a need, you are likely to find a product to satisfy that need. It fills the niche filled by REI in larger, metropolitan areas. Prices seem a tad on the high side, but it certainly beats driving to Memphis, for the nearest REI. Staff is friendly, competent, and attentive.
