Reviews of Emerald Park
Nice park with two main hike options. 1) Switchback down to the river 2) walk around the horseshoe-shaped cliff edge, overlooking the city, river and bike park below. Beautiful views, easy-moderate hike.
My stomping grounds. If you would like a tour. Just ask. Emerald Park has a lot to offer and I can show you. Anything from bike trails, rock climbing , hiking or dog parks. Frisbee golf as well but I don't really partake.
This park is awesome. Just a few minutes outside of Little Rock, AR.
Google Maps kept trying to take me though the college campus for some reason, you need to take Scenic Dr. around the college to get to the park entrance.
Great views of downtown Little Rock and the Big Dam Bridge. View over the Big Quarry Bike Pump Track. Relatively easy hike. Park on Pulaski Tech Campus in designated Emerald Park lot.
This place is beautiful. You can ride or hike. The trees and river make a great combination.
This is at the bottom by the river trail. Was hoping that the "phantom fall" would perhaps be flowing a little but no such luck. However, i did go on to view the creative art that is painted on the ruins left at the bottom of the quarry. I did not know that there is also a massive underground bunker. Super sketchy and spooky!
Great park. Paved walking trail along the Arkansas River. Excellent views of downtown
Little Rock. Paved easy trails.
Stay on the trail for an easy to medium difficulty walk. Go off the trail for a little bit more difficulty and better views.
Invigorating hike and fantastic views! You can also choose a paved walkway, mostly shaded from.the trees. Trails off the beaten path everywhere you look!❤
What a great hidden gem in Little Rock! Climbing out to the water was so much fun! Wear good shoes and enjoy this beautiful step into nature in the city!
Nice hike up and down the mountain with great views of the river. Walking, running, bikes, dogs are all welcome. Nice park, see deer most of the time I'm there.
Very nice walking and biking trails. The view isn't bad either.
Emerald Park is very nice, secluded. There are trails off the paved paths that are not marked. I was on one but started feeling like it was unsafe. I returned to the paved pathways. Some of the asphalt is raised posing a bit of a trip hazard. There are some beautiful views in a quiet natural setting.
Nice hiking area - main trail is paved so it's great for strollers/kids. No restrooms or playground area that we discovered. Several benches are placed throughout the main trail in case you need a rest.
By far one of the best escapes in Little Rock. There's so much to do and explore that you'll likely need to spend the full day or at least go back. I recommend the latter. It's beautiful both day and night as night time allows you to see the city lights.
Beautiful views of city and river from trails. Lots of places to stop for picnic or relaxation along Cliff's Edge. Not that many people there either so very peaceful and quiet. Definitely a great spot in town if you're not Mobile and want to get away for some fresh air.
This is a fun place for the whole family to go. You can take great photos and it's just a few minutes away from the city. Don't forget a water bottle; and, if you have one, bring a bike. The trails are perfect for biking as well as hiking.
Perfect spot to hammock or just walk along the trail. Mostly paved areas are nice but love that you can deviate from the path and find your own spot to watch the sunset and boats cruise the river.
Love this place for either a quick stroller ride with the toddler or the 7 mile loop connecting to the skateboard park. The trail back up to the parking lot is NOT paved- so I end up carrying the umbrella stroller and the toddler up the switchbacks but it's not too bad. Watch out for snakes
Absolutely breathtaking Park. . Great place for photographers and videographers to come and get amazing photographs and videos. Not a whole lot of wildlife when we went, could just be the season. Great for walking running and biking also!
Good views of little rock and the river
This is a nice paved walking trail. Beautiful views and peacefully quiet. Can be a little uneven in spots, so don't focus on Pokemon Go too much or you may fall on your face. Because it is paved when you are not under tree cover it can get really hot, so be aware during the summer time and make sure you don't overheat. There is no playground, drinking fountain or bathroom near the trailhead. Decidedly dog friendly, we always see a lot. Starts about 1/4th way, through, one direction ends at a gazebo and the other ends at University of Arkansas-Tech (just the paved portion).
Emerald Park is beautiful at anytime of the year. The views of the bluffs are especially nice near sunset when the rock seems to glisten. At some points you can see Pinnacle Mountain to the West and the State Capitol to the East. Nice paved trail through the trees with lots of shade when it's hot. Not too crowded making it a nice place for some quiet time.
Awesome sites, and great experience. If you don't already know about this place, it's one of those that's hard to find. Worth the trek though. Some of the best views are always sunrise and sunset. Very clear view of the river and city, it's a quiet place to relax, meditate, and clear your mind. There's never more than a few people here from time to time so it's not a crowded place.
Nice quiet park with beautiful views. There's a paved path easy for strollers and hiking/bike paths.
One of my favorite things about the Natural State is that even the more urban areas are dotted with places where nature is allowed to showcase it's beauty. Emerald park is one such place. It offers paved walkways for the less adventurous and for the fearless explorer (who isn't averse to disregarding caution signs) there are unofficial trails skirting the top of the old rock quarry that was once the main attraction to the location.
Love the trails here! You can opt for the paved trail or for the shaded dirt trail along the bluff line offering wonderful views of the Arkansas River and city scape.
One of the BEST VIEWS OF THE CAPITAL CITY AND THE ARKANSAS RIVER AND PINNACLE MT.
If you didn't know it was here you probably wouldn't find it. It's not off a main road or easily seen. The parking lot is fenced in and a little small but it works. The main trail is paved but there is plenty of off the beaten path areas that take you to some really scenic overlooks. There is a fence protecting you from going to close to the edge. Definitely worth a look.
Great hike with outstanding views. Wear some good shoes and go all the way to the point
This park is gorgeous! The views are breath-taking, the trails aren't physically demanding, and the air is crisp and cool. Definitely going again!
Favorite place to hike and get away to nature. Very close to the city! Views of everything from downtown to Pinnacle and everything in between! There is quite a bit to explore here if you are adventurous, explore down every well worn trail, there are often surprise vista's and shady hammock spots down at the end if you are willing risk a little bit of rock climbing! There is also a paved, tree lined path for those of us not fans hanging out on cliff edges. The park is accessible year round. Pro tip: If you want to avoid hiking up to the top, park outside of the Fort Roots center. There is a small unmarked parking lot that let's walk out onto the top of the ridge. 😊
A nice little park with a few trails that you can hike along and see the cliffs. Some places have a great view of the river and of downtown too
Awesome place for a nice walk and hike! Great scenery and view of the capital.
Amazing place to explore. Wish I had more time before it started raining. Fun place to try to climb too, if you are into climbing. It can get a little dangerous though.
Emerald Park is a hidden gem of Little Rock, it provides some of the best views of the city, the Arkansas River as far as Pinnacle Mt. with paved running/cycling paths as well as unpaved hiking trails. Care must be taken, young children are not recommended without extreme watchfulness due to very tall cliffs that do not always have fencing. Even so, highly recommended.
Great trails. You can stay on pavement or get near fence and cliffs for more scenery but more risk. Lots of wild blackberries!
It is a great place to have a walk.
Love this park, so close to LR and the views are amazing!
Great hike close to the city. Lots of views and a trail that surround the rim of the cliffs
This is perfect walking or Cycling track in Little Rock Arkansa, peaceful with best Arkansas river views.
This is a gorgeous walk! Trails are pretty clear and the incline isnt too steep.
Amazing views. Well paved trail for accessibility
Parking lot is small but it has the cutest and easiest lil trail to bike, stroll ur kids around, or perfect jogging trail too to look at a few gorgeous spots above the bike park below. Can't wait to visit again for more pics and hopefully see a sunset or sunrise next time. 😍😍 …
Great easy trails with fantastic views of the Arkansas river. You don’t need hiking shoes and to and from is about 45-60 mins. A really nice afternoon stroll for when you eat your fried southern plate of things at Soul Fish Cafe.
This place has some breath taking views! I loved going and my kids had a blast running around enjoying the beautiful nature!!! If you like nature this is definitely a natural beauty to explore and experience!
Great spot to see the river. Enjoy walks with the on site trail. Definitely a must see site in Arkansas.
My favorite park in the state. Very beautiful and quiet.
Very beautiful place nice paved walking trails
Great view of the Arkansas River. Best view in town. Breath taken!
My equilibrium is not what it used to be. The site is beautiful. But i could not get close to the edge.
Good walk, low hike difficulty but great view!
If you take the trail to the edge of the quarry, you get great views of the river and cliff face.
This place has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Definitely will come here more often now. It's so beautiful!
A very beautiful place to go for a hike and take pictures.
Gorgeous Park with amazing views and Shady walks for hot days
This is a nice walk that's convenient in location. It has a fairly level paved trail to the overlook of the rock quarry & Arkansas River below. In fall time the trees can be especially beautiful with bright yellow & orange hues contrasting with green pines. You can see the State Capital off in the distance from here. I like how peaceful the walk is, there are usually few people here at a time. There is a gazebo to sit & enjoy the scenery on the right branch of the trail. I highly recommend stopping by here for a little walk & quick fresh air fix if you're in the area. The view is sure to give you a little taste of being on top of the world.
Easy walk on paved trail; nice views.
I have been coming to this place since 1987. I love it. There are paved trails and a fence around a good part of the cliffs. You can view the River Trail and the old stone quarry below. The views are awesome!
Nice path for walking, running or biking that's on the river. Park is part of an old rock quarry and remnants of old buildings are still there. Not much wildlife except birds or squirrels. Peaceful oasis inside city limits.
Simple yet interesting trail, it has some very beautiful views with lots of tree cover to keep the sun off. A place for a nice quiet lunch stroll.
Tons of fun for the whole family. Stroller-friendly
Absolutely Beautiful
Amazing views not to hard of a trail
I'll say this, its allot nicer than I was thinking it would be
The views are absolutely beautiful and the experience of being parallel with the Little Rock horizons was priceless. I got to experience a long winged hawk of some kind during it's fly around, and it was remarkable. I was caught in such a trans, I didn't realize, through all of Mother Nature's serenity, I wasn't taking any photographs, but I will next time for sure!!!
Beautiful views above the Arkansas River.
Pretty views. Park in the Pulaski Tech parking lot, not the one close to the trail entrance. Break ins common there.
I am in love with that place I go there for my nature walks and I enjoyed just going to sit in their parking lot and enjoy the Peace of the leaves blowing!! Overall one of my favorite places to go!!
Great View I love this place we used to come here when I was young!
Calm and scenic walking trail that leads to a stunning view of the Arkansas River. A hidden gem right in North Little Rock!
been here a few times, always beautiful. i like to look for the rumored “underground tunnels” that supposedly go to jacksonville. i’ve hiked all over this park looking for them, and if anyone knows how to get to them you see my name, go ahead and shoot me a message and tell me! it’s a wonderful place to hike and i’ve spent a whole day walking around their forests! it’s absolutely gorgeous!!
An easy hike for a fantastic view of Little Rock
This is truly a hidden gem! I can't believe it was right there behind Pulaski Tech! Trees surround you on both sides of the bath and you feel like you're deeper in nature than you are. And there are at least 5 great views of the city from way up there on the bluffs. I've been there a few times and haven't had time to visit the bottom part which looks beautiful from above. The best part is there's never a ton of people there. You and your friends will feel like you have the park to yourself. That's something you just don't get in big cities. Go check this spot out fasho!!
Interesting trail that brings you along the tops of the bluffs, be safe, there's nice views of the city at night
Had my wedding here !!! Special spot in my heart
I've been in Arkansas my whole life and never heard of this gorgeous piece of central Arkansas. I went to school 10 years ago at the parks back door (PTC) and had no idea about it! My husband and I went yesterday and I was taken aback by the majestic views! Definitely worth many more trips there!
Great times on the trail w/ my dogs n spouse
Enjoyed the day at Emerald Park, had an experience at one of the edges that scared the heck out of me, especially with the heavy winds that came up.
But over all wondering place to visit.
Just wish they'd mark the trails.
Lovely veiw, nice walking trail
Great place to run/bike and explore caves
Absolutely beautiful view
Definitely a hidden gem! Shhhhh, don't tell people about it!
Cool park overlooking the Arkansas River. After a hard rain, the cliffs should provide some nice waterfalls. There is a nice gazebo at the end of the trail to relax and watch the river.
Great parking for taking a stroll. It has some of the best views of the river valley. There are a couple of trails that lead to the bottom, there is a very nice switch back trail that I would recommend for the casual hiker. It starts near the pavilion.
Loved this outdoor trail. Great scenic views and it’s partially shaded along the route. Dog friendly too!
This park is jewel just moments outside of the city. Tucked away, usually it's a safe place for seclusion. Highly scenic while looking out over the Arkansas River. Surrounded by scenic cliff.
A perfect place to hike, enjoy Nature, and after that come around the Ben for probably one of the most scenic views around.
I've loved this park ever sense I came here the 1st time!! Beautiful place!!!
Beautiful park. Nice, clean trails!
We saw several deer, was a very nice hike.
The bicycles need to use some courtesy when approaching you from behind and simply say bicycle on your left. We almost got hit a couple times. Also could use more bathrooms and vending machines with water.
We walked one trail. It was pretty. We saw a deer but the trail ended fairly quickly but it had a pretty view. We will try a different trail next time. We can't walk too long in the heat today. We weren't prepared.
OH MY GOODNESS!!! Breathtaking views, deer, city overlook, fireflies, the list of reasons to stop here is endless! It’s a quick stop, with a fairly short trail to gorgeous cliffs overlooking the river, the sunset, and downtown Little Rock!
I come here to meditate and just soak in the view.
You had a beautiful scenery and nature you see dear, raccoon, skunk, groundhogs and foxes. Don't get too close to the edges cuz they'll give way and then you'll fall over the cliff. Don't hold any of those small trees at the Edge to, they'll give away too, they'll come right out the dirt.
wonderful place to visit if you need a place to escape and clear your head. beautiful views the river. tranquil, great walk, take someone and talk for hours while enjoying the outdoors.
Go after a long, hard rain to see the pour offs!
One of my favorite spots in central Arkansas
Has a skate park, quarry, and some great hidden treasure fishing spots on the Arkansas river. Paved trail, pets allowed. Good views for free.
It is beautiful. Great for walking. Don't get to close to the edge it will crumble, but you can see everything from there.
Great place to hike, wonderful view
Went for a lovely walk on one of the trails and it was very nice. Great with kids and dog! Just watch for ticks
The coves here are beautiful.
Easy, short walk to get to a beautiful view. At sunset the canyon glows orange. Worth a visit
Nice little trail off a man-made cliff that overlooks the river. Very nice of pavement trails for meditation as well. Just be careful on the cliffs.
It was so beautiful. The view from the top overlooking the river and quarry was breathtaking. It was so quiet and the trails were great I loved it
Beautiful place to escape from the day to day hum-drum, find a little peace & be one with nature for a bit. Not to mention the amazing sunsets & sunrises that can be seen from the cliffs.
Great hiking well walking in nature in the city. 👍🏾💯 …
Place is huge and well kept with the off trail option and some great views. Look forward to exploring it more
Beautiful views overlooking the Arkansas river though at this writing Google maps doesn't get you to Emerald park parking lot rather it takes you through a law enforcement training facility...spooky.
Such a good quiet spot to gather thoughts. Plenty of routes to take to generally avoid a crowd. It's just a great little spot that gets no love.
Great view. Many different trails. We love it
Great place to walk and meditate
Beautiful views! Going right at the fork gives you breathtaking views, the left side is a good jogging path.
This such a beautiful place to go for a good walk! Its beautiful amd quiet. Definitely one of our favorite spots in NLR!
Amazing views!
Beautiful long walk. Tale good shoes. Its paved. I'd also take a buddy, it's a little secluded for NLR
My first time to visit. It's a vety nice place for a hike!
Amazing views, wish I had more time to spend. Next time I'll go earlier...I got lost as the gps kept taking in a back way where there was no entrance.
My favorite part especially when it's dark and you see all the stars and you look over the cliff and see downtown Little Rock be and all its lights. Just beautiful!!
Nice place to hike. Paved and dirt trails available. Abundant wildlife can be seen if the trail is quiet.
Beautiful views of the river and little rock. Up on the bluffs and has a paved pathway and can go off into small paths in the trees.
Emerald Park is a great secluded place to enjoy a walk or ride in a natural setting. The gazebo is awesome for an overlook point.
Good old historic park. Has trails and overlooks. Good place to chill.
One of the nicest places I've seen in little rock so far
Love this park. Amazing natural scenic views of the Arkansas River. A great break from everything, and right in the middle of town.
Nice park and trail to wander around with wonderful views
I came here recently and shot a small video podcast and it was really nice. I look forward to going back to this location as soon as I can. Is relaxing.
Didn't know this beautiful area was there. Great place to hike with dogs.
This place is unbelievable. Really great for walking, hiking, biking and even taking really great pictures😂😂 …
Great trails, well maintained. Don't be scared to take the dirt trails. Good loops for workout!
Love comin' out here; it's always so peaceful & beautiful views. Amazing to watch the sunrise or sunset from the cliffs
Beautiful
This is my favorite hike in the city. Great views.
very fun place to hike and climb. good place to make memories and not too hard of an experience
Nice place for a short hike with a great view. Mostly shady so not too bad in the summer.
Nice short trailer hooks to one leads dwn river trail and into long one allong to ridge line great views
Great central Arkansas get away. Beautiful views and fun or climb, pending on the route you take.
Great place to walk or run in the morning, with fantastic views of the river and the state Capitol. Accesses the River Trail via a dirt path.
This is a great place for when you need quiet time to yourself.
It has great trails for hiking with a view that is breathtaking
An easy to moderate hike with great views of the river and downtown Little Rock!
This place is gorgeous, an easy hike, and very accessible!
The most beautiful view of little rock and the arkansas river, love this place!
Great views and nice low-traffic trails. Some parts are handicap accessible as a bonus
Awesome cliffs and trails here. I have been told that a lot of the concrete structures were built by POWs.
Park is nice. Main path is paved so it's a pretty easy walk.
This is a beautiful park here by Pulaski Tech College and the VA Regional Hospital in North Little Rock, AR where I'm at.
Best views in LR. Can see everything from Pinnacle to the downtown city scape.
This park features my favorite scenic view of Little Rock.
Nice walking trails, beautiful views of the city.
Wonderful hike and view. Be careful near cliffs.
A place I had no idea about, lovely but the last part of the trail was treacherous
Great (and precarious) hiking terrain in the city. Occasional sightings of deer, fox, owls and even bald eagles.
Great view
Amazing views along the cliffs, totally recommend it
Nice relaxing I'm really good views of the Arkansas
Amazing views a bit dangerous if you go when raining
The city needs to clean up all the trash and sandbags and debris that the city of North Little Rock has left behind it looks bad when you're walking around
Always amazing views
Absolutely beautiful scenery and place too collect your self
Beautiful place for a walk on the bluffs above the Arkansas river
