Loved camping here for a Saturday night in August. Was able to book B1 for 26$ just 3 days in advance. Great spacious campsite which could fit two cars, and a 6-person tent quite easily. Slept very soundly - it's very peaceful, and the temperature was pretty perfect too. Loved the showers with hot water. Went for a morning run on the Farms to Forest Trail, and that's right at the entrance to the campground. This place is just 10 minutes from the I-95, so great overnight rest stop for anyone on a long drive.

Very clean bathrooms and showers, unlike most campgrounds this one has hot water and is a turning knob. Unlike most where you’ll have to press the water knob in every so often or else it will shut off on you. Avoid booking on weekends the campsites will be fully booked and facility being very busy. They had friendly camp hosts. No campfire for sale though but, there was plenty of wood to gather there. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Very little to minimal cellphone reception so you’ll disconnect completely.

One of the nicest campgrounds in the DC area. Sites are well maintained, as are the restroom and shower facilities, and the sites are fairly large and well separated. Loop C is best for privacy and tent camping, Loop B for groups, and Loop A for RVs and campers (no electric hookups). Campground is near several trails and has easy access to the bike paths. Note that you have to pay for park entrance separately from the camping reservation. It’s a bit of a drive to get to the campground from the park entrance, so work that into your schedule.

Tucked away back in the woods between I-95 and Quantico, fairly quiet, but very poor cell coverage. Three buildings with flush toilets and the middle one (area B)!includes a couple of shower stalls. Dumpsters for trash and recycling at the area B facility and also at the parking lot near the campground entrance.
Most of the tent and RV spaces seem to be adequately large enough to be able to enjoy outdoor time without being a nuisance to your neighbors. Stayed during the middle of the week when it was not at all crowded...mostly tent campers on site during our stay.
Trails and areas for biking provide an opportunity to enjoy a little time in nature with typical birds and furry critters (squirrels, bunnies, etc) foraging about.
Overall it was nice enough.

This is a very pretty campground with many nice campsites. It is designed for tents. We went with a small RV. Our bad. This campground is not set up for RVs. There is separate RV camping, however it is located outside the park itself. If we come back we will probably stay there. If you do come with a RV make sure it is small. Ours is 21 foot and we were able to find a site that worked. There is no water available to connect or fill so be sure your water tank is full before you arrive.
There are 3 bathrooms. One has been upgraded with showers and is beautiful. The other 2 bathrooms are sort of dumpy, but functional. There are trails that start at the campground. Even though it was fairly full when we were there it is very quiet at night. No electricity or RVs so that is probably part of the reason. During the day you get to hear the constant target practice from Quantico but it is not too annoying.
there is no firewood nor ice available and it is a pretty good drive back to town so prepare for that as well.

Great secluded camping. No hookups but the restrooms are clean with very nice showers. All sites are paved, great tables and fire rings. Spacious sites.

We loved this campground. It is remote with hardly any cell service, but the road through the forest to it is excellent (just watch out for stupid cyclists swerving everywhere). The shower block in loop B is clean and the stalls are spacious with plenty of hot water. The sites themselves are perfectly adequate with a nice, big table, good fire pit, and hard standing for your car or rig. We got stuck in a huge storm with hours of torrential rain, but our tent site was remarkably dry the next day - we expected to be in Shrek’s bog. The park visitor center is nice and the guy at the desk was really friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.

Camped two nights at spot C03, Loop C which was very pleasant. Campsites to the left and right are close and there is no privacy but spot backs up to a field.
Alex Thomas
Stayed here for a hammock camping event in our Campulance. Very clean campground. tons of space to park your vehicles and a lot of the sites seemed very large. Bathrooms were heated and clean.

The place is clean, well maintained, & affordable. There is no electricity or water at the sites, that doesn't have to be a problem if you are prepared. If you are in an RV, be aware of the size limits. The hiking is great, we've been several times without camping. The trails are marked pretty well, & they are maintained. There are trails that start at the campground. This was our first time camping & we enjoyed it. We did not see firewood for sale, but we brought our own. My only issue is there is little to no cell signal. It's very spotty at best. If you're using the NPS app , you'll need to download the map.

Went and explored today for the 1st time. There's soo many camp ground spots and some of Bs & Cs has pretty good size ones with some privacy. I do wish they had power that was a huge down fall for us because we need it to air up air mattresses ect. And I wish they had a playground, I know one of the other grounds has one but that's a drive down the road not really walking distance with kids. Also I checked out the bathrooms they were very clean but I didn't see showers but saw in the other reviews someone say there was one so it must have been in a different bathroom.
Ann Preidis
Great facilities, camp host was on site. Star off due to loud guests past 10 pm and no firewood for sale in site. Nice trails.
Kris Williams
Great place to tent camp. The sites are a little close together but still not to close. The shower room was better than some hotels. Very quiet. If I come through again I'll definitely stay there.
John Kinch
Pretty decent campground. The bathrooms are pretty clean, and there's potable water. We never interacted with any park rangers which could be a positive or negative depending on who you ask

This was a really nice spot. Spacious area for camping with a graveled parking spot, pit, bench, and hook post. Super clean bathrooms with a water pump outside as well. Three different camping lots so good chance you won’t have neighbors. Tons of trails to adventure on. The site is in the back of the park however so mentally prep for the additional 10-15 minute drive along the scenic route once you think you’ve arrived.

Girlfriend and I stayed here this past weekend. Really nice place! Got there a little late. Setup quickly. Then foraged for kindling and wood.
Apparently there’s a 7-11 down the road that sells wood. We didn’t find out unto the following morning. Mostly because the visitor center was closed.

Excellent! Best place to go camping. We always have a great time.

Beautiful location, camped in the C loop which was great because the camp sites have a little more distance between sites. Plenty of hiking trails, there's also a small fishing pond within the park. Caution, over the weekends there are plenty of dogs and kids, if you're looking for a quiet weekend in the woods this may not be the place for you.

This is a nice campground. I just left there today. I spent three nights there on a solo camping trip. I’m a fifty six year old female. I felt safe. A Ranger made a drive through the camps on a regular basis. This was a good time of year for my trip because I practically had the place to myself. The weather was nice and cool. I was in camp C23. C is a good area and the spots seems larger and more secluded. The bathrooms were very clean and the showers were clean and the water was hot. The few other campers that were there were quiet and everyone was bedded down by dark. I was impressed and will go back again. I usually don’t like public campgrounds but I wanted to try this given Prince William forests beautiful walking paths this time of year. I chose to camp during the weekdays so ,of course, it was more deserted. Take your own firewood and make sure it’s up to code. They don’t sell it there. There’s plenty of kindling around on the grounds. It’s a nice park. There’s also plenty of dumpsters to dispose of trash if you decide not to take your trash with you, which I make a point to. Personal choice. Happy trails!

This is a nice place to go camping if you don't want to go too far out, plenty of spots some trails and even a bathroom with hot showers. However they do not sell firewood on site or at the visitor center so make sure to stop at the 7-11 on your way in to grab some!

Spent a great night here in B21. I was drawn to this site because it is open very early into the season when most other state/federal campgrounds are still closed.
There were unsurprisingly very few other campers when I stayed (a Tuesday in early march) but I imagine that during the summer it is quite busy, and given how owe together the sites are that might be an issue for some.
The B loop bathhouse is the nicest I have ever seen at a campground and was kept immaculate at all times by the ranger. A and C loop bayhouses have yet to be upgraded and are closed before spring break requiring those staying in those loops to trek to the B loop bathhouse.
No electricity hookups are available and despite the NPS website claiming that small RV's are welcome I would not suggest it, this is a tent only campground for all intents and purposes.
Chad Goyette
Excellent campground with clean bathrooms and showers.
Stephen Cypher
Bathrooms are very new and clean and the campsites are perfect for a weekend getaway. Note: no firewood is available onsite so you need to bring in your own bug free firewood from outside the park.
Rose B
Very great spots. Good restroom. VERY KID HEAVY. If they have pet sections, why not have children sections?
This isn’t the campground yet people with loud dogs exist, wouldn’t of been against the service asking them to quiet down
jennifer nguyen (Sai)
Nice campground that requires reservations. Sites in A are a lot closer to each other than site B and C. We stayed at site C11 for the weekend. Site was very roomie, a bit far from the service sink and restroom. The bathroom is well kept and seems to be heated. There is a water spout if needed (not potable). Check-in is at 12pm and checkout is at 11:30am. You do not need to register your car or check-in at the office. Park Rangers are frequently driving around the sites which makes it feel safe. We will definitely be back since it's not to far from home.

Great campground with large lots. Very well maintained. Park rangers patrolled frequently, which was great. Good prices. Quiet and peaceful. Fire rings at each site. Bathrooms are kept up and clean.

I visited my brother while he tent camped here. There were plenty of bike friendly places and walking trails. Neighbors were just close enough to know they exist. It was fairly comfortable. The site was clear for a couple tents and had room for chairs around the firepit... which came with a metal rack for grilling. There is a rock driveway for vehicles and a wood lined walking path to the roadway. The woods are very thin. Easy to find bathrooms - and they're really nice. Driving directions around this portion of the park are confusing though. All one way but signs and arrows are misleading.

This place is wonderful. Bathrooms are clean, water tastes good. They have showers at one of the bathrooms that are free and good water temps (bring sandals and soap). They provide free firewood but it isn't dried so if it is raining go to the 711 down the road and buy some. A table and fire ring is provided at every site. Good flat ground for pitching tents. Usually not super crowded from what I can tell.
Munnzkinz
Everything about it was great! Nothing I didn't love about the trip.
Nakita Griffin-Hanna
Loved it. Nice wooded sites which are necessary for summer months. The host and rangers were very friendly and helpful. Would have earned 5 stars if bath houses were swept and cob webs removed.
Tanya Spady
The camping spots are spacious and quite isolated from each other, making for a great experience outdoors!
Kris
This was an awesome campground. There was plenty of room for each of the campgrounds, nice fire pits/grills for cooking, the bathroom was clean and well-equipped, there were even hot showers! The fee was only $20/night, and if you don't have cash you could just put down your credit card number on the envelope. The lady there had a pile of fire wood that was free for active duty military and pretty cheap otherwise. We went on a long hike through the trails, which were well maintained and pretty extensive. I couldn't ask for anything more for a great weekend in the woods.

I had a great stay here! The people here are very friendly. I camped at 4 different sites on my trip and these were the cleanest bath houses I have ever seen!
Courtney Wright
We've stayed twice now on two different weekends as we are local to Northern VA, and will definitely be back. I recommend going online and reserving a site in the B or C loop since those are the more wooded and private lots, but the A loop is still nice on a first-come, first-serve basis. Both stays were enjoyable, bathrooms are decent for a campground, and we had no trouble with the rangers. Hiking is awesome too! Definitely go on the South Run trail - it's along a creek and very peaceful.
Arpitha Rao Annaji
Awesome campground with availability of wood and great hikes with in 20min of drive!
Bull Winkle
8 mi from the entrance, good facilities but overpriced. But if you need a lay up for the night, it'll work in a pinch
Hardly anybody there? Probably because it's overpriced

This place was great! Showed up during the week and only 2 other campers there! Showers are in one the bathrooms and are really nice, and free! Host was also very friendly!

Beautiful, nothing compared to sitting under the stars around a campfire!!! Bathrooms super clean and trails are amazing!!!
Kristen Wolfe
Beautiful campground close to DC. Although non-electric, generators are allowed so it can get loud.
Fred Williams
Love Prince William forest hate that is connected to Quantico Marine Training Fields. Big guns booming and automatic rifle fire. Messing with my Zen
Steven Nevid
Updated/remodeled bathrooms and showers are surprisingly very nice for a national park.

Rangers are a bit strict on the rules; they came up and measured the diameter of the trees I had my hammock attached to.
