Good snow hiking and sledding in the area. Some sloped areas were icy and slippery so be prepared. We had slip-on ice cleats strapped to our boots. There were a few inches of fresh new powder snow on the ground, on the morning of Dec. 29,2021. Limited parking and you cannot park on the road ( highway) but luckily, after 5 minutes wait, we got a parking spot at a small parking area.

Good hiking and picnic spot, make sure to come when it's on season as most of the campgrounds and picnic areas are closed.

Nice, Simple Campground. Clean bathrooms and lots of nice sites to pick from. Only saw one where you might pitch a tent, mostly for RV camping.

Great picnic area! There's a paved "trail" that starts in it. Great for kids under 6 and stroller friendly. Really cheap to get a spot for the whole day. We love it there!

Kyle Canyon Picnic Area & Campground is currently open for day use only 10am to 5pm, No Entry after 4pm. Starting May 1st 2022 until Dec 1st 2022 overnight camping will be allowed, Car, Tent and RV camping all permitted. 27 camp spaces are available with 3 of those being Tent Only camping. The remaining spaces depending on each different space can hold an RV up to 40 foot with 6 spaces able to accommodate 2 RVs and or several vehicles. This is Dry Camping no hookups available and no services available on the mountain. Potable water available in 3 locations in the campground. All spaces are 1st come 1st serve and maximum stay is 2 weeks in a 30 day period. Prices are weekdays Mon-Thur $12 single, $24 double and $36 tripple. Prices weekends and holidays Fri, Sat, Sun, $18 single, $36 double and $54 tripple. All sites have a picnic table, grill and firepit. Be sure to check with host on Fire Restrictions and rules as they are enforced no questions asked no warnings given! Last camping season Kyle was sold out Friday, Saturday and Sunday 90% of the time and all campgrounds on the mountain we sold out Friday, Saturday and Sunday 80% of the season. Hope to see you this year!

This was my third visit with my family. I love that you won’t be far from running water and restrooms anywhere you camp. You can take a hike and go up the mountain from your camp area.

There's a bbq grille, fire pit and a nice picnic table. Good bathrooms with running water, flushable toilets. The caretaker is a nice guy. Saw deer there while walking thru the picnic site after we came back from the hiking trail and further up the road. The only drawback is I wished it was open later than 6pm so we could have the campfire going in the fire pit after dark.

Nice enough campground. A bit close to the highway so during high traffic times there's a bit more highway noise than is preferable. But it's a nice, easy reprieve from the Vegas heat. Apparently people often go up just to picnic, which seems like a fairly decent idea just to get some cool mountain air without the expense and time investment of camping. The amenities are nice, the bathrooms are well tended by the staff. They do a good job of keeping it presentable, especially if you know anything about how the public treats the world around them when they don't have to be accountable for their actions. Last year there was a water faucet you could access, but it seems this has been removed. Not sure if there's one at the attendants site or not. But, certainly, bring enough water for your consuming and cleaning needs. (There are functional sinks in the bathrooms, so you can wash your hands after toilet)

Want to feel like you're out of town for hundreds of miles? Take the 20 min drive to Kyle Canyon. Temperature was perfect to beat the Vegas heat and the views are breathtaking. Quite, great place to camp and get away as well.

Beautiful place to camp. Not really for large trailers. Mainly tents and smaller campers. Fires and BBQ friendly. Pet friendly. Vance the camp Host is a really nice man. Hiking trails all around the campsite. Public restrooms. Good rates.

Very nice place for a day trip. Admission is $12.00 for the day, unless you have a pass. The camp sites come with 1, 2 or 3 picnic tables, firepit and bbq. Nice and clean restrooms. The caretaker was very nice and helpful. If you have dogs, you have to keep them on a leash or you could get a ticket.

It is a beautiful and nice picnic area close to Las Vegas. It gets crowded so you need to get there early. Although, there are many trees, finding shade around noon gets harder. Great place with lots of views and clean facilities. Oddly enough it was also ten degrees warmer then some of the campgrounds on the other side of the mountain. Also the only one that was open and not full when we went. Overall it was a great experience.

Excellent hiking. Too bad folks don't stay on trail to lessen the impact on nature. Too many visitors have taken short cuts off the trail that have eroded the landscape... Please stay on the trail so we can keep the trail open.

I believe that it has been recently opened to camping. Went there for tent camping and there weren't that many spots where you could pitch a tent. If you have an RV though you are in good shape. Good location and well maintained.

Place is packed most weekends. Good friendly atmosphere. 12$ weekdays 18$ for weekends. Remember only can stay on mountain for 14 days no matter where you stay. Thank you and enjoy your stay.

Located about 45 minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip it is one of the places that you can get away from the hustle and bustle on the strip go out there and have a campfire with your friends or family in the middle of the wilderness that is located 45 minutes away from a desert you can see wildlife snow and much more

I didn't pay at the entrance as there was no one to pay to but late a ranger came by and collected the fee. As far as a picnic area it's nice and the grill and fire pit kept us warm
