Reviews of Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center
Amazing place, I've gone walking in different small parks in Illinois and California before but this one is calm and has a variety of paths to take. Just enough to make it a trip to complete 😁
You can even go to one of their restrooms before and after the walk.
Has some nice picnic areas to choose from but it might be too buggy sometimes.
Great place when it's drizzling a bit.
Beautiful park with amazing trails. The park is amazing with plenty of seating and parking. Great for a family get together or just afternoon at the park.
My only complaint is the "beach" area it claims to have. It was a small area that was extremely hard to find and I wouldn't take my kids back to. Definitely not a place to take your kids swimming.
However, everything else there is amazing!
Very peaceful. I come here after work to decompress and exercise. I love exploring here. I love the trails and scenery. I also love that there are absolutely no homeless people at this park unlike the rest of the parks in Houston! Thank you for being here.
It was very much a vibe out here walking in nature. The sun peeking through the trees. The gentle cool breeze brushing up against your skin. The birds carelessly chirping and soothing sound of the running stream. This park is more than deserving of the 5 stars it's getting from me. It was impeccably clean for a place that allow dogs, horses, and bikes along their trails. Eye even took my socks and shoes of to ground in the grass. Honestly can't wait to return.
This is a great day trip for anyone near the Houston area. It's a beautiful park with lots of trails to hike and bike. The Rose Bud Hill homestead and Akokisa site was well presented, very educational (esp. if you meet the keeper which we did) and a general pleasure to visit. It amazes me at what residents and early settlers did just for survival in the area.
I'll be going back again.
Definitely worth checking this out. It’s a large park with plenty of running trials, a playground and picnic area. There’s a “beach” as well, surprisingly. You can go kayaking here. As for wildlife, I encountered two deer while hiking.
Beautiful well maintained park. The trails are well maintained and easy to walk or ride bikes on. The parking lot is pavedish, I wouldn’t see a problem for any vehicle parking at the designated parking lots. The restrooms were clean and the park has a visitor center
This park is so lovely! There were butterflies everywhere.
We only visited once, and went straight to the playground, but in our short visit we loved our time here. I'm sure there is way more to offer. It was such a great time.
This park is lovely for a number of reasons, but my first is for scenery. Every blue moon I look to break the mold with images and this is it!
There are so many vignettes and great pockets of sunlight... it's any photog's dream. Of course, it gets hot and humid. There's always plenty of bug spray and I actually keep a fan close. The only "downside" are snakes and spiders. Although, I found the snakes to me far more frightened than I was.
So get creative with your images.
Such an oddly calming place to walk through. It is huge so be prepared for some walking. Some trails have sand so wear the shoes that you wouldn't mind having some sand in. The river is a muddy brown so not really photogenic but they offer canoe riding and you may see some wildlife. They have a small nature center with some snake displays of what you might find on your walks and more information on random community events. They have a turtle pond and a designated fishing spot. You can ride your bicycle on certain routes. Make sure you're also driving less than 20mph and bring your devices fully charged!
This is such a nice park with several scenic routes and stops. There is so much to do here and it's very large. They have several long trails, even trails for horses. They also have playgrounds, BBQ places, you name it. Definitely worth a visit multiple times
Beautiful park and trails! I came recently for a PD. We were told a little about the park and were given nets and containers to catch bugs as we walked the park. I used to come here as a child to play on the playground, which as a child then I would rate highly lol.
I enjoy walking and riding my bike on the trails. I haven't seen horses yet but would like to. Never too crowded and the few folks are friendly. I've seen singles - young and young at heart, and families. Like the distance markers.
We went for the reptile open house. The entire team was amazing and their was a great amount of interaction. Afterwards we walked to the kids park which is a good size and very empty. Lots of cyclists on the paths enjoying the day as well.
Had a layover in Texas and this was the closest park to the airport.
I had the best time walking around this park seeing the most beautiful swamp like nature landscapes. Coming to Texas again for sure
Went for Native American Heritage Festival.Loved it!!!😍.Took the children to learn some history and it was very interesting, seeing the way it was and having a glimpse, into the past.Hands on activities and dance.Awesome🙂👍 …
Outstanding park 8 minutes from my house! A perfect place to commune with nature by walking, biking, and there is horseback riding not to far away, fishing, kayaking and more!
I live it there, it renews me every time I go!
Lots of really great well maintained trails! Awesome playground! Cute little nature center with snakes and turtles! No entrance fee! What more could you ask for!?!
This park 😍 is the best 👌🏼 for me I love coming here 😍 everything is so beautiful and all the changes that was done to the park congratulations awesome job. …
Love it! Very beautiful park, feels like you are in the forest, with plenty of trees beautiful vegetation, long distance trails (about 20miles)For walking, bike riding, fishing , horse back riding, kayaking.
They have clean restrooms, picnic areas, and a playground.
This is one of the best parks that I’ve been to
100% recommended! Very beautiful views! My family and I go to parks all the time, hiking and bike riding are one of our hobbies, and out of all the parks we’ve been to, this is by far our favorite!! It is like a mini National park, it really is like you’re in the forest and so much nature. Again awesome park.
Beautiful park. Unfortunately it's not dog friendly but it's still a gorgeous place!
I'm the kind of guy that really don't like walking far distances but I enjoy this walk for some reason it was so relaxing I didn't even realize I was walking for 30min I salute the people that can walk that entire park because I know that I barely touched the tip of the iceberg
If you want peace and serenity on your walk. This is the place to go. You may even see a deer or two. The playgrounds and restrooms are always clean.
We love this park! The playground is big and spacious for tons of kiddos and the trails to ride bikes and skate on are super big and not small. The beach area is nice too because you can see people riding horses sometimes which the kids love!
The Pioneer & Indian homesteads were the best part of our visit - our own self guided field trip. (just be prepared for a considerable walk by foot no roads or parking near the Historic section.) The playground is creative & fun- though needs to be pressure washed. Walking/biking trails look extensive & nicely maintained.
U can 🎣 fish here. The 🚻 restrooms are decent and clean. Wear the right type of 👟 shoe's. Because you are really going to want to explore here. 📌 Make sure you take your phone because you will get so excited trying to explore you can loose track as to where you are. 🧭. There's even ♻️ recycle dumpsters their so take your recycle bins . I don't remember what you can recycle there. It's a great spot to take your family or a couple to go or a single person to go. The environment is great. Plenty of parking in different areas.
Wonderful Revolutionary War reenactment going on today at 1 pm. Experience period costums, music, blacksmith, cabins; and kid crafts entertainment.
Very nice hike trails! Just watch out for bikers!
Love this park it's so nice and clean also we can bring our dogs.
Very serene, clean found some nice rocks and fungi.
Amazing paved trail, smooth asphalt and concrete.. beautiful scenery and nice shade from canopy of trees. Runs along a nice creek and is extremely lengthy so its great for any experienced person!
I personally love to longboard long distance and this trail is perfect for that due to its smoothness and small hills. 10/10 would recommend this park for anyone wanting to bike/walk/run/skate a great trail. This is my favorite place to go and unwind.
Had a wonderful time with my grandson Isaiah. This park has always been a great place to come enjoy the out doors and take in the sceneries. It has many things for you and your family to have fun.
Absolutely love going for walks there it's a beautiful and peaceful place. I love going every chance I get. So much beautiful scenery and cute little animals you'll see every now and then. If you never been here you'll enjoy this nature park a lot
Great place to walk trails run and fish my kids love the events they have there too
I absolutely love this nature center. If I’m looking to get in some outdoor hiking time without necessarily leaving the city, this is my go-to location. I love that there is plenty of parking, plenty of trails (including horse friendly trails), and lots of places to fish. Definitely one of my favorite parks in Houston. Be sure to check their Facebook before heading out that way. They don’t always update their website with their closures and I have driven out before just to find the gates locked.
We love going here on the weekends for our long cycling rides. If you go from one end to the other, you can easily get 33 miles. The trail is well maintained and had enough turns and dips to keep it interesting.
We so enjoy hiking the trails here there are plenty of short hikes to do with kids and the fact there are nearby bathrooms is a bonus! Kids also enjoyed the playground for a bit. Boardwalks are well maintained and it was fun to see turtles, birds, and bugs up close.
Absolutely love this park. My daughter has so much from on the playground. The trails are great. The nature center is fun and hosts different classes. The festivals take you back in time with all the reenactments.
Great place to take the fam! We are able to drop off our recycling and take fun nature walks. Well maintained paths and option of paved or unpaved trails. We have also done some fishing there. Playground is further in the back and kids love it. Highly recommended
I love how well-maintained this park is! I come here to work on our adopted trail throughout the year. I recently walked the west side perimeter of the park. Stunning! I was shocked that I didnt see people on a Saturday morning on most of the paths I took. I'll be coming back to explore the Sandy Beach!! I almost took a nap on the platform at Turtle Pond. Everyone was social distancing themselves which added to my peace.
This is a dime for runners, walkers, bikers, fishermen. Ideal for both a solo or family adventure. This place is huge so take a water bottle or two, maybe inside a backpack or a pouch so you have your hands free.
The beach zones have white sand and the trails are paved and dirt.
Beautiful park. Beware of Google directions it sent us on a wild goose chase. Google Insisted on taking us through neighborhood parks. We had some friends going with us and also sent them the wrong way. We saw an elderly man driving in the trails with his car 🚗, obviously following the wrong directions. But once we were there, we were so happy to be there.
Bring your bike if you want to see the rest of the trails. If you start from here and go all the way to the other side and back you can easily ride your bike up to 30 miles or more. Plus the bike path are also will maintain.
This was my first visit to a park since moving back here from Washington 2 months ago. We live very close so we walked with our dogs. The park was open although most kids equipment were not. Biking and hiking trails were open. We didn't get to explore all , but we walked down a trail for a while. It was clean and beautiful. Actually foresty, we evwn saw a deer! People were nice. Restrooms were also open.
Great park with wonderful trails, super cool Nature center, knowledgeable staff, clean public bathrooms, as well as the proven evidence of Akokisa Native Americans having a settlement on the 312 + acre park.
The events held, are amazing and fun filled for all ages!!
**calling all volunteers**
The problem I see most often is that cyclists ride the trails like they are untouchable and would never cause an accident on cemented and gravel trails comparable to the streets of rural England. The trails have many different people walking the trails enjoying nature, I once saw a very capable, but elderly woman passed by at a high rate of speed by a cyclist with no call like “passing left” the guy had headphones on and had complete disregard for her and other up ahead. It’s not all the cyclists, but the handful ruin it for the cyclists that are considerate.
Go into the nature center and check out the collection of artifacts and various species on display.
The Texas Cichlid was actually donated by me a few years ago and she is very interactive when she is in the mood.
I have a male that I am considering donating, but the history between the two was hostile during their “teenage years”. That may have changed, especially since the park provided such a beautiful display for the female.
The park is top notch, come see for yourself to what this park has to offer.
Lovely park with awesome trails.
Love this park. Great playground, always clean and well maintained. Many walking trails and most are in the shade which is great in the warm summer months
Beautiful trail. Paved all the way through with a few nice scenic spots. There is a speed limit on the trail for bikes. It was very well kept and they have a few security golf carts patrolling. Nothing motorized allowed. Even electric skateboards. 🛹⚡ …
Absolutely beautiful!!! This was my first time going and I gotta say I will definitely go back. Wonderful scenery and fun trails, very clean place. The bridge over the swamp area is my favorite, coolest bridge I've been on before, it's located in the Cypress trails in the back.
This is a good place for pinic, hike.
Aside from the spectacular trails and beach, it’s a cultural learning experience especially if you come when the homestead tour guides are here, they are phenomenal about replicating the daily ritual tasks, maintenance & life from both the native Americans to colonists, from blacksmithing to farming to cotton refining to food processing and storage (cellar, smokehouse, chicken coop, barn) to living (bed rope tightening, house building & welling) It’s truly an all-encompassing experience not to be missed!
I absolutely love this place. You can honestly get lost in this place. I know because I have got lost a few times. Bring your backpack, camera, snacks and plenty of water. It's so big, that it will take you almost the whole day to explore the whole park.
This park becomes my favorite place after work I walked all the trails n' I loved 😍 you can have a real contact with nature es el lugar perfect pare desetresarte …
A very well looked after city park with good Shady trails well signposted a nice playground a canoe launch area into the creek, a sand area and benches to rest. They do close the gate promptly at dusk. Great place to take the family.. Great bile trails.
Peace, Tranquility and rustic construction all made beautiful and natural. Especially the equestrian trails. Come here to regain your sense of self, and get grounded. Away from distraction.
Great place to take the kids. Many trails and sites to visit such as the homestead and the nature center. Trail are great for hiking and biking. Park was clean and staff was nice.
We had so much fun! Huge play place, and decent bathrooms. Plenty of space for the kids to run around. And smaller options for younger kids. Our 16 month old had a blast.
This is such a nice park! Beautiful trails and tons of nature. It's a really good spot for bird watching, and some fishing places as well. The nature center has a lot of cool snakes and other educational material, as well as open bathrooms and a pretty garden area. Jesse Jones also has several educational programs (nature walks, etc) still going on with limited space - you can reserve spots up to 10 days in advance.
Well marked trails and a great variety of wildlife
Great trails for walking and biking even saw some horses out there a great way to get close to nature and you can tell they've really spent some money on making the trail nice scenic and safe
Nice park. Was much better before. Now they are cutting a lot of trees. Many clear areas. Now is not the same..😪 …
This park was amazing long trails beautiful nature to look at very relaxing I recommend to go here to clear your mind and to take the kids too.
Very well kept trail to go bike riding, spacious, with good signals,
We ❤ Jesse Jones Park. So many trails to walk, run or bike as well as horseback riding trails. We haven't seen much wildlife but LOTS of birds, squirrels, lizards & snakes.
First time coming here. It is very clean. I love that there are plenty of spaces to sit, the bathrooms ARE open, and the playground is very kid friendly! We will definitely be coming back!
Strange, twisty trees. Got lost in an eerie place that had grass huts, fenced in gardens, a stage with logs for benches, fire pits and creepy things I don't have names for... but the only pictures that come up for me are the twisty tree branches and the strange "river".
Beautiful trails and clean park
Great getaway into nature. Stroll along the paved walkways, saunter the boardwalk of the Cypress Swamp, or meander the more primitive paths. You can't go wrong no matter which one you choose.
Beautiful park filled with nature trails. Nice area for picnics. The Nature Center has nice exhibits for the kids. Friendly staff. Avoid going in the summer due insects, especially mosquitoes.
Perfect cycling trails, also great for running! Some sandy spots are better for equestrian rides or mtbs equipped with tires to handle sand
First time here and is awesome good place to use your bike or long walks even fishing one thing you can't forget is to bring mosquito repellent there are a lot of those asides from that is very clean and nice
I love this place. Great place to take the children or a date if you enjoy walking and enjoying nature. Also a good place to fish.
Truly beautiful place! We love that the trails are both fun and family friendly. The kids absolutely love the playground.
It’s was a really great park my ROTC class ran 14 miles there and it was great
This is a nice place. There are plenty of places to walk, ride, and play. They nice areas to sit and the paths are very well looked after
The trails ate excellent. Make sure you wear something for misquitoes.
Shady paved and unpaved trails. Unfortunately dogs are allowed on only a few.
Place was great except the "pros^ trying to fish at noon while we were swimming
Great park, very well maintained, beautiful piece of nature. Many paved pathways for biking or rollerblading. A lot to see
Beautiful park with lots of trails, a great outside picnic and playground area, lots of shade and water fountains, an inside nature center, and wildlife. Also had some decent Pokemon go spots. Will definitely come back to explore it more.
Lovely park, enjoyed the trails. Seen deer, bald eagle hunting for fish, snakes and much more wildlife. Also did some fishing and it was the firat time I ever caught a bass.
This place is definitely much cleaner than it was when i use to visit 10 years ago and my last visit in 2015. They keep their info updated and the office staff is actually friendly now!!!
Very pretty and quite. One of the trails and the nature center was closed. Bathrooms are clean and they have two playgrounds based on age. We did find some poison ivy and a small snake on one of the trails. We will definitely be going back.
Great place to spend the day exploring with the family. Can also learn allot about the different type of reptiles you can find in your own backyard.
Wonderful time. Quite peaceful walk through the forest. The cypress boardwalk is awesome.
what a nice place to relax there is a bit of everything the singing of the Birds the tranquility of the Beach, the Forest ♥ that provides its stillness and if you enjoy the Adventure also kayak bicycles, go experience it and you will notice the difference 😃😉😅 …
Awesome nature trails and homestead setup! Dont think the creek beach is there anymore though.
Great place for biking, be careful of the wildlife! Don't bother them and they won't bother you!
Great park, however it is posted all over that the park closes at 7:30 right now. When we pulled up to the gate to leave at 7:25, it was locked and 4 cars of people had to wait 45 mins for a constable to come unlock the gate so we could leave..... The rude constable on the phone insisted the park closes at dawn regardless of the 20 + signs literally all over the park that say 7:30.
This place is great. Many activities for the individual and family: fishing, kayaking, hiking, bike riding, park and playground, nature center, exploring, and many scheduled events. They have invested quite a bit over the years. A definite park to visit. They also have various activities that meet scouting requirements. I highly recommend this park. If you kayaking, drop it off and Pundt and exit here but careful with the current.
Amazing parks, I go there mostly every weekend to run
Great place for wandering paths and learning about nature and different kinds of habitat (forest, river, etc.). We even found some ripe blackberries along the trail.
Some of the trails near the beach/river did not have clear signage.
Bugspray is a must! We went through a couple areas where there were large swarms of bugs, some of which followed us some distance down the path.
Playground is great.
Christmas festival is a good activity, with Santa, school choirs and other live music, wagon hay rides, etc.
love! awesome trails and nice playgrounds. dogs should be allowed in designated areas and trails; on leash of course!
Awesome place to hike and enjoy nature. It has a playground for the kids and pet friendly
A beautiful nature park with awesome trails close to Houston. I love exploring this park. Lots of shade for sunny days. The trails are well maintained and clean. I cant wait to go back and explore more.
This is a hidden gem for Humble. Hidden in the forest with lots of shade for kids to enjoy. Restrooms clean and kept up with. Rare for a park to have that.
Very nice views on this park’s trails
Awesome educational place for kids. We love our nature walks here. #swingset #picnic #autumnleaves #playground #shaded
Love seeing wildlife every time I visit!
Went for a walk, the place has a little for everyone, walking, hiking trails, bicycling trails and horseback trails. Many go for the excersize.
Great for Walking, Jogging or Photographing Nature. You can even fish there.
Miles of hiking and biking trails. Wild deer, Great Blue Heron, armadillos, turtle pond and a Butterfly garden. A canoe launch ramp, and fishing access to Spring Creek.
It is an access point to the Spring Creek Greenway, which is a paved bicycle path that extends from the 69 bridge over the West Fork of the San Jacinto, 17 miles to Highway 45 near the Hardy Toll Road exit.
We are so glad we found this place!! We will definitely be back soon! We took the dogs on a walk to get some energy out and I was expecting scenery but this went well past our expectations! 😍🥰🌄 …
Great trails!
Good for Running, biking, walking...
Would be good for Photo op too😁 …
This is a great place to go for a walk. Some paths are sandy. And the river is just beautiful.
Haven't ran this trail since hurricane harvey. Or seen the beach. It was nice to go back there again.
Beautiful, tucked away. I enjoyed it and I was just meeting a group so I didn't walk the trails. Next time ☺️
Great place for kids, with short trails and plenty of natural diversity. The board walk is well kept, but the other trails are a bit wild and trail markers get worse the further out you are. Still 4 stars though, as it is still beautiful and has plenty of nature to go around.
I was amazed at how many plants and flowers there were. It was really fun seeing the little turtles swim around in the pond, I would definitely go again.
Loved this park, still do. Moving to the area soon and I'm excited to search and explore it all
My family loves going to Jesse Jones park and learning about nature and history through all the activities this park provides. It is always a great experience and the staff/volunteers are wonderful!
Huge walking/running trails, hiking paths… love this place, highly recommend!
This is a very nice park. There are some residual problems from the flood but overall a great place to take the family. Lots of room for the kids to run. Looks like a great biking area and lots of wildlife.
Great playground and associated natire paths. For kids a great exploitation experience. Deer, armadillos, turtles, ducks, frogs....fun for all!
Beautiful park and friendly park rangers! Fun trails for both riding and hiking.
Clean park with a little of everything for everyone. Walking, biking, horse back riding, fishing, photography or just being in nature, this park has it.
Great place in our own back yard of Houston Texas. They have bike trails, walking trails, fishing spots, and loads of educational things for you and your family to do. It is so easy to find. Load up the bikes, load up a basket of goodies, and just plan on sitting in the shade and enjoy the outdoors with your family, or even by self. The ground crew have been there a long time and they do very well at keeping the place manicured, and at same time keeping it real for the wildlife, and there are lots of wildlife to see. Just be patient and enjoy the memories made there.
This is a great place to enjoy nature or learn more about nature. Be sure and learn more about their educational programs. Also find out about their pioneer days. They have plenty of fun FREE family events. The staff and volunteers are phenomenal.
Beautiful, clean, and a great place to clear your mind and explore!
If only i knew about this park sooner 😔
It is a great place to get away from the busy work and enjoy the nature. …
Great park, the trails are kid friendly, handicap friendly and is not too hot since almost the whole way was covered. The park offers different activities for the community to be involved. Definitely is gonna be one of our favorite to-go spots.
6 miles bike ride with the family. Nothing like the outdoors and the family to really say we enjoy life. We visited the reptile display building, and Lucky let us pet her. The folks here were just amazing. I believe that coming to this places during regular week days is better than on weekends. Because of it we end up with a private tour. The kids where just loving it.
The Reason For My 5 Starts Is Rating The Biking Trail. Love It. It Connects FromThis Park to another in spring. I went biking with my kiddos and they also loved it. We Did 17 Miles! There And Back.
Nice. Lots of trails. A few trees blocking some of the trails diwn by the creek. No dogs on many of the trails, that's really weird to me. Great views of creek. Nature center really nice and pioneer days great for the kids.
The trails are marvelous. It's been a couple years since I've jogged these trails are the expansion has me amazed.
The park is beautiful, but I don't know why people don't care about the planet. Everytime I go there there are something to pick up and throw it in the 🗑️ especially in the beach area. …
Beautiful park with long and short trails
There a lot of trails for walking or biking. There are many activities and things to do.
it's clean. small, but clean.. and im good with that.
It was nice and cool. Love the board walk and also the trees.
This park has been a favorite place of mine since moving to Houston almost 8 years ago! Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking to soak in some nature in the big city world. Bring the family bring the pets bring the bikes.
Great spot, especially for kids and if you love walking. Get your chairs with you.
A very beautiful park. The trial is well organized, and relatively short, thus very good for families and little kids.
They expanded the trails. I went in further than before. The kids loved the walk and the turtles!
You forget you are in the city and get back to nature. Also yesterday we saw a crocodile or aligator and the employees there were very helpful and excited for the spotting.
Great park! A lot of walking areas. River.
Great place to let your kids play in the playground while surrounded by Nature. There's hiking trails and a large bike trail
Lovely large park with well maintained trails and lots of wildlife even in winter. We saw lots of turtles at turtle pond, heron and other birds on Spring Creek, and heard frogs and other birds in the woods. We also saw a pair of deer crossing the main boat launch trail shortly before the park closed. There are trails for hiking, biking, and house riding. Facilities include a boat launch and a beach on Spring Creek. There are a number of ponds, including the aptly named turtle pond. Public restrooms are located near the nature center.
The trails were pretty barren and the place was small.
A wonderful place to walk and be immersed in nature. A great place to birdwatch with open fields, woodlands, and river habits. There are both paved and non paved trails meandering through this park. There are good bathroom facilities located at this park
I have always loved this park. I have been going since I was a little kid. I am now taking my daughter to the park and she loves the outdoors.
Came with Husband and Kids and friends. Got candy and had fun. Trick O Treat.
Went here after some rain, it was great! Bring bug spray!
Good fishing at the creek but the beach area has been washed away.
This place is awesome...I didnt get to go on all the trails but its worth coming back. I had brought my dog and they have certian trials also that dogs are allowed on too. #TrueRatings Please Share and Like
Killer workout all trails look the same easily can get turn around
Nice little park in the middle of a nice trail system.
Super awesome place to visit and just walk!! Will be coming back.
Friendly staff, lots of activities for everyone, beautiful park.
Its great and huge a great relaxing and peaceful places with different spots with lakes and streams
My dogs love the walking trails and watching birds on the creek . Fun!
Trick or treat in the wood was great fun. We've been there for other events as well. Close to home and a wonderful place to visit and spend the day with the family.
Parking available. Very serene surrounding. Nice experience.
This park is great! Lots of paved walking trails with clear signs. You can walk along Spring Creek for the views or I've seen people fishing there as well. We've been a few times but today was the first time seeing wildlife. We saw two deer grazing right off the trail. We walked right by them and they didn't seem spooked. Great spot!!
Very clean park!! I like that rules are enforced. So much to sightsee. Has little plaques that you can read about the environment. Has mile markers for runners. Has walk ways for strollers, or if you want to be one with nature you can veer off into other trails. Has a nice playground for children. Would recommend this park to others.
Great cycling trails!!! Nice creek bends for fishing. Kayak launches and hike trails. Very nice!
My favorite place to come and clear my mind I love it here 😍🤍💚🍃 …
Loved and enjoyed it. The trails are great
Just the being outdoors seeing the nature of things was great. Good hiking or walking trail.
Great nature area. The kids love it.
Its free! Its clean! Its family friendly! 😁 We haven't been here in a little over half a year so we were very shocked to see the beach they had is now full of vegetation. It's still really nice! …
Excellent park and nice clean trails.
Great place to spend family day...and wonderful walking trails.
Great nature trail. Saw a deer. Lost to do. Definitely recommend.
All of the spring creek greenway parks are nice, but this one is something special. Despite it's proximity to the airport and the city, you really can experience nature here. The boardwalk thought the cypress swamp is very nice as are the well maintained trails that lead to the sandbar. My kids really enjoy the playground as well.
This park is beautiful because there is a building where you can go for free to understand more about wildlife and the fauna. I love the parking lot since it is not a problem. I love that you can go canoeing and kayaking on spring creek. The cypress trees are very interesting. The white sand is wonderful, just be careful with sand dunes. I will visit more often this lovely park.
Very nice park. The playground was great for my little one. The trails around the park were a nice place to get some steps in. Can't wait to explore the trails further. The day we went, the park was a buzz with families but didn't seem packed. Very enjoyable.
Clean and quiet like it should be.
Love this park been going here for about 8 years now. I like to jog / run and this is a perfect place with many trails. Seems to be expanding throughout the years. Just took my engagement pictures here as well.
I was visiting from California and I love the idea of this gorgeous park. I wish I lived right near it I would go all the time and exercise and enjoy nature.
very beautiful and safe park!
April-2-2023 if you go there when it open at 7AM is good to cycling's, afternoon is getting to hot
I have always enjoyed coming here since I was a kid. Recently I started coming here again and notice they upgraded the playgrounds and added places to barbecue and new trails. Even after the massive flood we had they did a great job cleaning up and making the trails walkable again. This is a great place to bring your kids to enjoy nature but my only complaint is that most trails do not allow pets. Other than that, this is a great place for to walk, jog, BBQ or fish. Highly recommended.
Many trails, lovely scenery. However, due to the hurricane flooding, much of the trails are closed because of the remaining water.
Very beautiful well-kept great bike trails
Visited for the first time this past weekend.
The walking trails are all paved, awesome for strollers and wheelchairs to still enjoy walking through the park.
Was very peaceful, pretty neat picnic Loop with a playground.
Only negative thing is I wish someone in the nature center would of warned us of the trails leading to the "beach" they are still covered in sand and basically nonexistent since the hurricane I guess.
County park with bike and walking trails. Bald Eagles are here every once in a while. Be careful where you step. There are poisons snakes here as well.
They're doing quite a bit if ongoing construction, but it's still awesome. Everyone in the park office is super helpful. There are usually free events. Plenty of trails. Great playground area, picnic tables, grills, restrooms. Also a canoe/ kayak launch to go fishing.
Nicely paved way for bikes, walking, or anything with wheels. Don’t make the mistake of not bringing snacks as you’ll stay there longer than anticipated. Beautiful nature trail. Water is provided along the way but it’s always best to bring your own. Nice park for the childrens. Be kind and don’t leave trash behind. A+++
I hiked for over an hour and didn't see another person. Extensive trails.
Went right after a days worth of heavy rain and all most of the paths were still accessible. My girlfriend loves frogs and the marsh was sufficiently filled with frogs getting ready to mate. Needless to say she was very happy there. I wish I had taken some pictures of my own, everything was so gorgeous even after all the rain.
Great place for a family outing. Good for picnics and walks.
Been coming here for years, love the trails. Lots of bike trails, some playgrounds for kiddos. Good place to come just for walks, lots of trees around, lots of shady spots. Good place to get away from suburbia or the city. If you like biking use Google and turn on the bike trails and its covered with trails that connect with other parks in the area.
Attended Reeann's 11th birthday here. Was a nice place. Had a pretty good time. Bathroom clean, playground fun for the kiddos. Nice trails.
Nice and woody. Trail is by the river. If you love nature this is the place to be.
Plogging the Creek with TAP
It was a beautiful day, took my daughter to take pictures, what I like about it is that is always multiple securities making rounds. The park is never alone, is so big I would not go alone, is always better to walk, hike, ride bikes with others.
I went for a Walk it felt very relaxing and peaceful. All areas are clean they have bathrooms. You can walk or ride your bike, No pets allowed.
I completely love this park, I enjoy the trails and running every other weekend. I love that I can take my son with me and he enjoys the view and the feel of the wilderness. Its just really cool! To top it off it has a full playground for the kids so yes this place is awesome!!!!!
Truly enjoyed the park with my kids. Bike trails for days. Cool trails with all of the trees around. The kids saw a deer in the forest as we were riding. Rode by the water along the trails and saw families enjoying picnics and playing. Beautiful day!
I love the variety of hiking and biking trails available. Lots of play areas for the kids. It's just a great place for the entire family including kayak launches, nature center, and a white sand beach to fish. It has something for everyone in the family.
Great place to go for walks. Lots of nice trails and wildlife. We go running on the trails frequently. Sometimes we bike. They have a re-enactment village that does demonstrations. A little nature center with some nice stuff to look at. I do not fish so I’m not sure if it is a good spot for it. I see people with poles, must be worth it. Open times vary with the season. It has to do with sun set. Nice places to have picnics and birthday parties.
My cousin and I ride our bikes here on Saturday, a great way to get in a 30 mile ride
I really do like the park my kids love that park a Beautiful place to be with your family on a Saturday or Sunday.. really recommend.. also if your trying to have a cook out it's a yes..
There is plenty of parking throughout the park. There are multiple trails that are a mile or longer that are easily accessible. the names and lengths of each trail are at the beginning. Unfortunately, most of the trails have sections closed off due to the flooding from Harvey. The scenery is nice & it's quiet. There are tables and benches throughout and playground at the beginning and the middle. The restrooms are well kept and the nature center at the entrance is nice as well.
I love this park it has all sorts of trails and adventures
Very nice place to bike
This place has been our sanctuary and saving grace during the pandemic. We ride several times a week and it’s magical each time. A little more crowd on sat and sun mornings but no biggies.
The park is full of trees, trails, and wildlife. There are many bodies of water with fishes and turtles. You can also recycle and throw trash in designated containers. You can take a tour and visit communities that live here. They will show you how they make clothes, store food underground, and fish! There are several maps to guide you and there is a wildlife center, as well. If you go far enough, you will find a large, white sandbank where everything is peaceful and quiet. Wonderful place to have in the community overall.
Great place to access the Spring Creek Trail. Really appreciate the park personnel always getting the park open on time though usually they have it open 15-30 minutes earlier. Very nice to be able to get an early start during the hot 🔥 summer season. …
Enjoy the paved trails now better than when I first started riding. It used to be a little rocky. Trails do tend to flood when it rains a lot. Love the views while riding. Just a great feeling just being out and enjoying nature.
I absolutely love this park my only issue was the mosquitoes were so bad we couldn't stay more than about 10 minutes other wise I love it I've been there in the fall, winter, and spring but summer time remember yr off 😁🙄 …
This park is a great place to visit year-round. They have events throughout the year including canoe trips down the river, pioneer day, nature walks to teach about local wildlife, plants & more along with a rather extensive amount of miscellaneous workshops geared towards all ages.
Always clean and the trails are amazing. Great place to "get your outdoors on". Plenty of shade and scenery. They even have a huge playground for the little ones.
Had a great time riding the trails
Awesome park with fantastic trails for mountain biking and road biking. There are some great hiking trails too through some beautiful scenery. It can get busy but there are plenty of parking spots available at various entrances to the trails. Great place to spend a day out on nature.
Great place to escape and feel like you're no where near a city. The floods this year have really changed the landscape on the trails, the ravages may take years for the area to fully recover. Always bring mosquito repellant even when it's 100°
Our bulldog loves getting out for walks and though there is only one trail he can go on, this has become a favorite spot. Trail is large enough to accommodate the majority of traffic, very seldom did we have any issue getting around or being passed by someone. The location is pretty and we can't wait to explore it more. Oh! I'm sure this goes without saying but.... Bring bug spray!!!!
We had no idea that this wonderful nature park existed and so close to Houston. We visited the Nature Center, the paved wooded trails, picnic area and playground. The highlight of the park was the sand beach along Spring Creek. We visited on a Tuesday and the park was practically empty - good for us during this Covid-19 pandemic.
If you're looking for a place to take your dog, this isn't a very good one. There's a trail that leads around the area's perimeter, and I believe one that goes through. The latter one was closed by gate when we went, so we had to follow the perimeter trail. I'm sure it's great for running, and maybe biking, but since it's paved it's hard on dog paws during the summer without boots. You're also out int he sun most of the time, unless you're at the extremes of the day (dawn, dusk). It took about 45 minutes to walk the entire trail, and that was all I could do with my dog. No off-leash areas, no fun stuff for them, in this case no nature walking, so we left.
For family stuff without a dog, I'm sure it's great.
This is one of my favorite parks to ride bikes. The scenery is beautiful and there's always a lovely breeze.
Love the paved bike trails! Lots of other fun walking trails and the Nature Center is a great place to visit. Kids play ground is well kept and bathrooms are clean with soap which is always a plus!
nice park but the anti-pet rule is unfortunate. i brought my ESA and had a lot of people bothering me about her being with me. she’s well trained and i was prepared to pick up after her if need be but was still bothered by a lot of randos
Clean, big, friendly people, nice playground for the kids and trails for adults, pet friendly.
From what we saw in our first visit, it was massive and beautiful. There's a ton of trails and so many locations to go to, deffinetly enjoyed taking my family there, will be going back to see the scenery and enjoy more trails.
Been my best friend for over 20 yes. Gooood times
This place was just what I needed. Winding paved trails through tall trees enjoying nature. I wandered through the paths until I found the turtle pond. I believe I spent over an hour here watching the turtles of all sizes popping out of the water and swimming about. Several families found the pond as I sat and we exchanged greetings and small talk.
This is a very nice nature center which backs up to a creek offering plenty of outdoor activities.
One of the best hidden gems of Humble. There is plenty of parking and public restrooms. This park also has mamy picnic areas with trash cans and dumpsters available. Plus there are lots of trails to run, bike or walk. It is always clean and well kept for a public place and I hope it will be remain that way.
Everything was great except the women's restroom had no tp.
For me this is the gem of HCP4 parks. Beautiful bottomland habitat. Great staff. I've been visiting JJNC for three decades. For me it's one of the top birding kayaking spots in Harris County.
Great place for hiking and bike riding. We have been going there as a family for years. Wheel of Pioneer Day! The trail cook is my kids favorite exhibit his name is Hangman, which give them a laugh every time they talked to him. Besides, he makes a great beef stew and peach cobbler!
No dropping canoes at this ramp spontaneously! You need to make a reservation. This was the first line to a mad review. I have since met with the staff at jessie Jones Park and learned there rules and procedures of the canoe ramp. These people are pretty cool and after all helped me use there amenities.
Great hiking and bicycle trails. They have a great learning center. It is free. Dogs need to be on a leash. Plenty of parking. ATVs and motorcycle are not allowed. They even have a small beach like area.
This is one of the largest and most feature packed parks in Harris County. Lots of trails, a really cool Indian village, and handy connection to the spring creek greenway to name a few benefits. Nice nature center, lots of family play areas, and much more really make it a worthwhile trip. Well worth a visit!
Beautiful park. We love this place and so does our 6 year old son. There's a large playground area, restrooms, and trails for walking and biking.
It's a nice place to get away for a while
Great time with friends and my lil cracker
Beautiful park. Nature , animals and a lot of peace in the air.
I love this park... No two walks are alike... So many trails and options. Hands down my favorite park. Come be one with nature.
Yes, you will need bug spray all seasons.
Wide bike path stretches at least 10 miles to connect to other parks following the San Jacinto river. Other trails for walking and river access. Cypress boardwalk areas is something I remember doing even 30 years ago to see rare trees. They have many restrooms & picnic areas with grills provided within the shaded areas around the playground equipment. Event center available.
Just beautiful. Amazing scenery and lots of wildlife
Very accommodating staff and accessible friendly. Love everything about this place.
Great place to do morning walk.
Im a wheelchair user and this place is very nice for exercising or just to see nature. Whether you run or bike ride. It's trails cut through the very green woods and it follows right along the San Jacinto river for miles.
We love it here, always so peaceful.
Nice park on Spring Creek. Trails access the Creek with beachfront for fishing and wading, as well as interesting Bald Cypress wetlands and a historical farm. Unfortunately, many trails are paved.
This place is a hidden jam in the Humble, TX area. It is also a great access point for the Spring Creek Greenway which stretches from the Highway 59 Bridge deep into Spring, TX. Excellent place to walk, run, bike, photograph, and even ride horses (in some areas). One of my favorite spots to chill.
First time visiting this park. Very wooded, tons of trails, clean. Bring your mosquito spray!
Went fishing on Spring Creek. Fish were not biting for anyone but the park was Excellent. Well kept and Restrooms are very clean. Keep it up Harris County. It matters.
My family loves Jesse Jones Park & Nature Center! Whether you want to relax and just enjoy being outside, walk on some wonderful trails, visit a white sand beach, canoe, play/feed ducks, let the kids play on a great playground or barbecue with family - there is something for everyone! Nice and clean!
We were attending an event under one of the pavilions. Yet we were under constant attack by large bees. Huge spider webs all over the place. I think the parks grounds keepers can do a lot better at maintaining the structures for families. No access to run water either just a heads up.
Close proximity to Kingwood, Humble and Spring. Nice trails. Take the trail to the right, goes all the way to 59. To the left, 8 miles and enter Pundt park, continues all the way to Hwy 45
This is one of Harris co hidden jewels. Great park to spend with your family or just walking all the beautiful wooded trails. I been there more times than I can count and find something new about it each time I go.
Great park for any kind of event
Great park/nature center. Was here recently for a bike ride. The trail is paved, scenic, and peaceful. Plenty of hilly areas for a challenge. Will definitely ride here again.
Awesome outdoor park for the kids. Playgrounds, trails, picnic tables and a nature center with park rangers. They have numerous activities throughout the year such as Pioneer days Trick our treat hiking.
First time to visit... I look forward to making it a routine... Hardly anyone there at the time of day I visited, but felt unusually safe.
Only hicked for an hour, next time I'll come better prepared to stay longer.
Wish I had a bike to explore all the trails.
Love love love this playground! Lots for the kids to do but never crowded. Safely away from any roads. Tons of shade, seating for adults, and the ground around the play structure is padded.
This is a hidden gem! A fantastic place to go for a hike; spend time outside with your kids instead of just letting them play video games at home all day. The park is very wooded, so you're under shade almost everywhere.
We enjoyed the trails and the kids enjoyed the playground.
Easy entry and exit. Well maintained. Very friendly people. I felt as if I was accepted as family coming to visit! This is a nice nature getaway! Great job Parks and recreation folks!
Great park with many trails, but the Halloween Event they had was subpar. It was free to walk around but you had to pay for things like face painting, kids crafts, nature activity, etc. Which is to be expected but was extremely understaffed. Not very fun, wont be going back.
Nice park! ☺ Goes all the way to 1960 and 59
awesome park, good trails lots of nature. There is no danger of confronting animals, what do you expect when you go in the woods you get nature. If you go early you can see whitetail deer foraging around which is cool. Wild hogs are present but are really nocturnal. Ive only seen 1 in my 13 years of going. The creek is excellent fishing feb-april.
Here for the first time. It's Tuesday and not crowded. That's a plus for me. I looked at the map on their site to figure my way around. Lots of different trails. Check out their website for the map so you can navigate your way around and find your interest.
We had a great time on the settler's homestead tour. Then saw the exhibits in the Nature Center, and went to the pond to feed the turtles. Lovely park.
It’s was nice and clean. A lot of shades.
The best place in the northeast Houston area for a family picnic or activity. A great place to hike through the woods and over the swamp on the boardwalk. Free events are hosted every month that are open to the community. If you're new to town, or haven't been to the park in a while, you owe it to yourself to check it out.
My boyfriend & I often walk our dog at Jesse Jones park and we love it. Plenty of things for her to sniff and lots of trails to walk. The only thing I wish the park would invest in is creating a dog park within the park. We live in the Porter area and the best dog park even remotely close to us is all the way in Spring! It’s such a hassle to drive all the way there and back.
Peaceful and quiet. I suggest taking lots of water and going off trail. You can find some really amazing views off the trails. It is so expansive and amazing. Just make sure you know what you are doing because some people do get lost. They have some nice picnic areas and play areas for kids.
Visited many times with the fam. The people that work there are very kind and helpful. Different trails to go on, walking and biking!
Beautiful trails for biking.
Nice trails with beautiful trees and ponds, not far from the airport. So if you have a an extended layover at IAH this park is a nice option to spend few hours on nature.
Me and my two grandchildren had a wonderful time fishing walking through the woods on trails be at The Gather one on one and having a chance to experience outdoor life with him
Some trails needs repair-washed out. Horse Flys and quick sand not a fun time at the beach area. Love the paved bike trails, pioneer and native village and nature center.
We had a great visit to the Jesse Jones park! We went for the Arbor day celebration. They had information and goodie bags for children to teach how to prevent wild fires. We also had a great time enjoying a guided walk where we learned about trees native to this area. They also gave us two free saplings native to the area for us to plant at home. All the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable! And the park is recovering nicely after the damage done from Hurricane Harvey. One employee showed us a ribbon he tied around a tree to mark the water level during the flooding and it was well over 10 feet in the lowest area! Glad they are restoring this gem! We will definitely be back again soon!!
Great outdoors hiking experience. Well kept park. Can walk for miles. Very pretty even this time of year. Alot if people out enjoying the park
I love this place and spend time with my family is amazing
Great place for casual or long walks or runs. Lots of different length trails and connects to Spring Creek Greenway, a 13.5 mile paved hike and bike track that goes north and ends at Dennis Johnston Park up near Old Town Spring.
This is the real thing. Just the history of the park and nature center is worth the trip. The grounds themselves are worth many trips. Take a class. Go to one of their Heritage days. Come out and try to identify all of the flora and fauna with iNaturalist. Thanks, Matt!
The staff was great! Lots of turtles at turtle pond. Lots of Cypress at the Cypress boardwalk trail. A must for nature lovers. Definitely going back next time I am in town. Sadly no kayak rental.
Wild and beautiful nature excellent for everyone
This is a hidden mecca of outdoor fun right in the heart of urban sprawl. There is a hiking trail that connects to this park from Pundt park and is around 15+ miles long. Pioneer days are my favorite and are generally in the fall, great for family.
A beautiful park with lots to do and see. I've seen a great horned owl, wild hogs, deers, salamanders (I think)and much more. I've caught largemouth bass, white bass, and blue gill by the canoe launch. The biking trail is clean, smooth and fun due to some small climbs and turns. Overall, this is one of the best parks in the greater Houston area.
A great local getaway. Lots of nature trails, a beach, a boat landing, various settlements built to learn and explore (including a full blown farming homestead). Yearly Halloween carnival is always a favorite for the kids.
Loooooove this park!
Great trails, good people coming by every day, and definitely good facilities if you need a restroom break or a sit down.
Bring the kids, bring the grandkids, bring the grandparents haha.
This is a great park, through and through.
A great place to visit if you enjoy outdoor activities nestled in the woods. I joined a free canoe trip they sponsored (just one of many events sponsored throughout the year). The trip included canoes and all equipment, shuttle to put-in location and float down Cypress and Spring Creeks guided by knowledgeable rangers. Hard to believe you are in Houston when you are on the creek surrounded by woods and wonderful wildlife. Jesse Jones also has a nature center, wooded park/picnic areas, and woodland trails for walking or bicycling. It is also on the southern/eastern end of the Spring Creek Greenway (a continuous wooded hike/bike trail paralleling Spring Creek from Jesse Jones to The Woodlands) Best thing is to check out the variety of activities online.
Nice place to go walk.
Love it
Great park with some cool cypress swamps and lots to see.
It's a beautiful park ... my family members were there to attend a Christmas program. The was a hayride to the park from the parking lot. (And back) We had Wassail (a Christmas time drink) and homemade cookies, .. after barbeque sandwiches and cake / pie. There is a small stage with a choir and a small orchestra. They performed Christmas songs. We walked a 1/3 of a mile with about 100 people and saw Santa Claus. We all sang Christmas Carols together. A blacksmith was making nails ... we all enjoyed a wonderful evening for children and parents alike. The park will always hold this memory for me and my family.
This is a really big park with lots of trails, a playground, and nature areas.
Very big and very relaxing. I go here almost every day to wind down, destress, and relax. They do have a restroom located at the front portion of the center located on the left, Male and Female restrooms. They have two parking lots, one at the entrance and another to the left of the entrance with a second entrance there.
Wonderful park, great hiking trails, and a good play area. Only complaint is the trash by the creeks is bad, but you can see well maintained trash cans on the trails so you can tell they are trying to combat the problem.
Great bike trail. Start point to final point where the blacktop ends is approximately 16 miles for a total round trip of 32 miles🚴🚴🚴 …
Great trails for running and bike riding...
Our family loves the annual heritage events at the JHJ Center. The dedicated volunteers, the authentic food & drink samples and the hayrides to & from the parking lot all make this one of the best free historical venues in the area.
Love walking here my husband enjoys fishing havent caught anything yet but he just started fishing we like coming here to clear out minds and walk the trails!
Nice clean park. Fun for little kids. There is a rough trails that turns into a paved trail, which connects you to Pundt Park. Pundt park has a really nice big dog park. Playground for the kids as well.
It is clean, safe and peaceful to walk with your dog if you have one yourself or ride bike
Beautiful hidden nature. People ride horses here too, which is awesome. Nice trails with a lake.
Good peaceful park.. granddaughter loved the nature walk and playground thank you to the people who take care of it. Good job..
This park is nice. Never been. They also host demos in their little homestead sometimes as well. Pretty cool.
I take my girlfriend to jesse Jones now and then . great place for a picnic or a date , or even a run or walk. Go here sometimes to relax and enjoy the scenery. Plus the animals the have for viewing is pretty nice.
Pretty cool and chill place to relax and enjoy the day. As well let the kids play and have fun outdoors.
Very nice park and bike path. We really enjoyed our time riding to the different parks along the way. Plenty of places to stop that have restrooms.
Beautiful trails . Very clean and safe park . Lots wildlife . Great for family picnics and activities
Great spot to bring the kids. Greenway trail makes for a peaceful walk/run next to the river.
walk or bike ride nice at this park. You can get turtle food from the nature center walk down to the turtle pond. My kids enjoy this park.
I run there all the time, the park is always kept clean and you’ll always see a worker making rounds around the trails. Park closes @ sunset and everyone is politely asked out.
Great park, beautiful walking trails, Pavilion you can rent, nice kids playground, well kept
This place is great if you want to come out for a nice walk though nature. Multiple trails, all nice. Only issue is that it is near the airport so the sound of planes taking off/landing is a bit of a distraction. In fact it is more than that. It almost ruins this place but not quite. Also regarding the prohibition on dogs. I am pretty sure they used to let dogs in at one time but dog owners are by and large inconsiderate when it comes to their dogs. Dogs should be on a leash at all times. Your Rottweiler Pookie is no exception. You need to pick up your dog's feces too. It makes me sick the dog owners who conveniently neglect to do that. So… now you lost privilege. Let that be a lesson to you. I am not a dog hater. I have a “chaweinie” that is very loved. If you are going to give this place a bad rating because of no dogs I would give it a bad rating if I had to put up with your crappy dog no one loves but you.
Love this park. Yea, they don't allow dogs, but for a good reason. It's a nature reserve, so the wildlife won't make it home if an unnatural predator is around. Do you research before dissing the fact that they don't allow dogs.
The best kept secret in the greater Houston area, Jesse Jones Park and Nature Center is a Harris County Precinct 4 Park. There are free activities and events available to the general public including five major cultural events each year. The farmstead offers a sense of life as it was back in the day. I love visiting this park and volunteering my time here.
Fantastic place. Wonderful outdoor spaces and trails. Old homestead area is great. Nice play ground areas. A must go park!!
Very nice park. Well kept up. Lots of forested trails to explore. Very pretty! Great place to bring the family.
This place is well maintained. Has amazing trails both paved and unpaved.
Always a nice place to get fresh air and let the kids have fun!
Love God's Beautiful Trees🌳 And Plant and Paths. Always A Beautiful and Joyful Visit ❤ Mrs. Jacqueline Coleman 🥰 😇 …
Best safe park to go bike riding, cleanest restrooms, and water stations to refill water bottles. You want to ride 35miles + and be away from traffic? This is the place!
The trails are so refreshing and the nature center is awesome as well.
This is a well maintained public park. The play equipment is top notch, the picnic facilities and bathrooms are clean and serviced regularly. Nice place!
Nice place to go for a walk or bike. Great play structures areas for kids. Beautiful place for picnic. Barbecues and benches on site ready for party or spending quality time with friends and family.
This park is amazing. It's huge, full of beautiful places. Very good spot to spend time with you family, riding bikes and play around.
The trails are numerous and the nature center is very informative. The native American village wasn't as well kept as the settlement area but it was still a great place to walk to.
A great park for the entire family. Wonderful place to run. Neat turtle pond and lots of deer sightings.
Beautiful area, well maintained.
Such a beautiful park. Awesome natural trails. So much to do and see! They are always doing something! Visit their website and look at their calendar!!!
Great place... Trails from bike routes, hiking and horseback riding... Picnic areas ... The trails have great shade... Plenty of security and most people are friendly... I meet people every day...
What a fun find! This is such a great place for hiking, exploring and getting out in nature!
Loved this place! Love the adventure! The fish was to smart to eat my hooked bait tho but it was fun!
Bring an umbrella, a hat something to hide from the sun
The park is quiet but a good size and there seems to be a couple of families playing there every time we went. Also the trails are well-maintained and not overly crowded.
Had such a great time at the Heritage Festival! Learned so much & the kids enjoyed the hay ride, corn grinding, bonnet making, & the music! Can't wait to go back!
Amazing, shaded, well maintained walking trails. Swimming in the river, if you so desire. Loved it! Been coming here for 30 plus years.
Loved this park it's like an adventure inside of an adventure with a side of adventure. The trails and the little beach is raw nature which I love.
I /we (the fam) all love the bike trails!
2nd trail we've explorer and it was great although a big black snake crossed my wife during the walk out was still a exciting adventure
In addition to the hiking/biking trails this place has a great fishing spot.
Beautiful park to hangout with family and walk in the trail. My kids had a blast playing in the sand by the beach and playground. Restroom is very clean.
Very nice park. Great bike and walking trails, fishing, kayaking. All of this just about 25 miles north of downtown Houston!
Great park! There's multiple trails of different lengths 1 mi, 3 mi, etc. Biking and hiking trails/routes. Lots of historic activities too.
I love this place I can walk for hours
Large wilderness area close to Houston with a small natural history museum and a 1830 farmstead. They do demonstrations of 1830's farm life on weekends and two larger enactments in February and November. Nice people. There are picnic areas too.
Very quiet serene area, except when the kids are in the playground. However they have various trails leading to a lake in the back is beautiful
Good clean park with great amenities for all ages. Trails, playground, tables and benches for picnics. Shaded areas
Great access to the almost 15 mile long Greenway paved bike and walking trail. Follows the San Jac so fairly level, just enough elevation variance to make it interesting.
Wonderful nature park with hiking trails, fishing, and amazing educational events.
My family visit this place very often and I enjoy a lot mi time in there. I thank the staff and the Security staff that are always doing a great job. Its beautiful and very clean
Lots of good trails
Grew up coming here, and happy to bring my kids here while we were on vacation. Nice playground, and mosquitoes weren't bad, except by the cypress trail boardwalk.
Large park for walking, hiking, biking and fishing in the lake. Clean restrooms, areas for picnics-barbecues, entertainment for children . You can walk your pets. Safe. It's free!
Always an amazing place to go. This a beautiful park with many programs and events occurring constantly. I enjoy everything I set foot on this park.
Great park with lots of trails and space. Highly recommend visiting!
Nice place to take the kids
This park is nice for family I also exercising as walking and riding bikes great place
Beautiful place for a hike.
County has recently done a lot of work to provide newly asphalt paths down toward the creek.
Love this place for all the trails although we could not walk down any after a heavy rain had flooded the pathways. We will return when it's drier.
Nice place to fish for white bass when they are spawning. Too bad it rained heavily night before. The creek turned into. Fast moving murky, sandy river. Got skunked.
Love this place. Went here to take graduation pictures for my graduating senior....the scenery was awesome. Not to mention that the pictures came out great!!!
Nice park with lots of nature, paved and unpaved trails. Easy family friendly hikes. Fun sand beach.
Trails, scenery, also connects to several parks around town
This place is my escape, my outlet. I love the trails away from all the congestion.
Nice place for a walk or bike ride. You can even bring dogs to the designated areas. Not too much damage since Harvey that will hender your visit.
Love this place but horseflies are bad right now down by the beach.
I love this place, the nature trails are fantastic! Clean water to fill waterbottles down the bike trail. Amazing views, nice parks, and restrooms stay maintained!!
Huge park with lots to look at and lots to do. They have a lake, tennis courts, playgrounds, soccer fields and much more. It's very easy to host a birthday party or event
Took the family (group of 12) to ride the trails. Really great ride and nice clean park
Awesome park, my kids just loved everything about it. Great place for family outing. The trails are great.
Great leisurely walk with my wife and dog, perfect to end long day while listening to the sounds of nature
There are different trails and pass to walk some you can ride your bike some you can take your dog and some you can't. They have restrooms here!
Great place to take a walk, run, bike. Dogs are allowed ON A LEASH!!! It only takes a few bad apples to ruin that so don't be that person!
This is a great place to run or bike, as the trails are pretty long. There are a couple of fishing spots as well as a playground for the kids.
I really like this park. It has bridges. And covers 14miles. From 59to 45. Starting at kenswick and 1960 good for bike rides
We went for a photo shoot and the kids want to return soon to explore.
Nice trails.
Good restroom facilities.
Beautiful and lots of things to do
Excellent place to visit with kids. There are snakes to see at the nature center and many stuffed animals. The playground is nice and the boardwalk trail is fun for kids.
Great place for runners! Especially those looking for a long run of 10-20 miles. Make the trek to Pundt Park and back. It's awesome!🏃🌲 …
This is one of my favorite running trails. There is lots of shade, clean and conveniently located bathrooms, and I feel safe running here
First time husband and I went on a trail ride on our bikes. 4 miles on way and back. Enjoyed the scenery lots of shade trees
Great place to walk/run trails. There is only a couple of trails that u can walk your dogs on which kind of sucks. But overall a good place.
Great place to take the kids. Wonderful trails. Also very clean and nice people working the grounds.
It's beautiful and calm.
Excellent Park with lots of things to do, great trails to hike and run
Never knew that it existed until the other day. Great place, great walking trails and the people are some of the politest and well mannered people if met in a long time!
Very nice park, lots of trees, jogging/walking path. I will go there again. No hesitation
I really loved it here and I totally got a piece of mind
Very nice park, great way to take your mind off of things and relax in nature
This place was okay. Trails are in pretty rough shape. Quite a bit of garbage around. We took a group of scouts and they took it upon themselves to pick up some items and throw them in the trash bins. Spring Creek is pretty gross really.
Good walking area, love any place that's full of trees, there's plenty here. It's clean, & there's a pretty nice playscape.
Stephan from SNL would say: "This park has everything for a nice time in nature. This park is the latest spot for outdoor fun. It has walking trails, playgrounds, shade & everything a family would need. You must go."
Attempted to go to the Pioneer Day event that was held about a week ago on Friday unfortunately due to circumstances I was not able to attend. Beautiful grounds wonderful hiking trails.
Love the free events. Very much appreciated ! We love the spring Creek beach in the back. Fishing is alot of fun here very quiet
Loved walking on the paved trails. Had no idea fishing was soo popular here. They were killing the stripes today
Great bike trail , watch for snakes they are active , good fishing spots , get insect repellant spray, lots of deer on trail
Cool little park. There is a sign that said no dogs, which made me angry, but everyone ignored it. We hiked out to the creek. It was fun.
This is a hidden gem. My husband and I went bike riding down the spring Creek trail and the path is very well maintained.
Beautiful layout, clean and friendly officers on patrol.
Very calming and soothing play is great for the kids.. The trails are a little sketchy because you don't want anything to come out and bite you.LOL#MOMMABEARSYNDROME
I really enjoy this park. It's large and attracts people for hiking, fishing, biking, and more! It's one of my favorite parks in the Houston area.
Cool nature Park with some good hiking and a great playground. Loved that they gave a paved dog and stroller friendly trail.
It's a great park. It has lots of picnic tables, a couple pavilions, a nature center, some playgrounds, and several wooded trails.
We love this park. Always a fun outing for the family
