Reviews of Magic River Campground
Nice quiet campground in the trees. Not too far from beaches. The staff were nice. If you do choose to stay here, be prepared to need to evacuate within a couple hours due to flooding. Have a plan B in mind. I wasn't aware of the flooding issue in this campground. Had I been I would have chosen a different
Very beautiful place, cottage has all dishes and towels that you would need. Very quiet nice pool. Only 5 miles from the beach. Maddy is a great host
12$ a night with Passport America. One of the best place we like for the price and the people.. Everyone greats you with a smille, invites for free coffee in the morning etc. We would stay longer, but mmust return to Canada.. thanks guys! keep up the good work!
Clean place, nice staff , good lil fishing pond. Not the "off the grid" type of camping but definitely feels like your away from most civilization even though your not far from beaches, casinos, shopping, etc..... Love it will be going back
Very quiet. Nice phone staff. Price was good. Only stayed 1 night. Lawns need cut and never found out if we could use the pool. Sign said members only and we are not passport members.
My husband’s parents, Ray & Hilda made this place for all to enjoy. And for All 5 of their children to share in the experience of their creation.
Nice little place. Be careful though.. they do not take reservations. They ended up being full when I got there.
Very good clean campground I love it I come back every year from out of Illinois 👍👍 …
I called the day I wanted to stay, and Kate was very nice on the phone. Calling a second time when I fell behind and wasn’t going to arrive until 6, she told me to just pick an open site and somebody would be around to check me in the next day. I came just after dark, and one of the other campers stopped by to offer his help. Dalton came to register me the next day, and was very helpful telling me about passport America, and giving me some advice on places to go in Biloxi. It was a very pleasant and relaxed experience dealing with them. The site isn’t too far off the highway, maybe 2-3 miles, and there are two large ponds to cast a line. The price can’t be beat, and the restroom/showers were very clean. At least three seasonal campers came over to chat, and Tiffany, who works there, had to stop her car and get out to pet my dog. This is a very friendly place, and if I come this way again, I’ll definitely stay here.
Visited family who were staying in the cabins. Very nice and fully furnished. Even a fenced in back yard.
We spent two nights at Magic River. Was a very nice and peaceful small campground. Would have given 5 stars but our spot was a bit muddy, only due to the recent rain in the area. Would have liked it to have more gravel in that spot. Cement slabs would be wonderful, but I'm sure that would increase the price. Can't beat the price. Very nice and welcoming people there. W I ll be stopping if there's a spot available next time through the area. Thank you Magic River family!!👍😊
Nice place to stay, people are very friendly and there is always a fire to sit around.
What a wonderful little out of the way gem! Morning and evening community campfires. Morning coffee over the fire with wonderful comraderie amongst all campers and employees. We will be back for sure and an a longer stay next time.
We rent out a cabin usually for a week or so on vacation. The staff is always so nice and welcoming. We love the camp fire and fresh coffee by the campfire in the morning. They have a pool and a few ponds to fish on. We have never caught anything but that doesn't say much! We always have a pleasant time here.
Beautiful place. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Our site was perfect, with a view of a pond. The swimming pool was an unexpected luxury. Plenty of room to walk the dog. Nightly community fire and morning coffee during our visit over Halloween. Can't wait to visit again.
Nice quite and family friendly. To stay long term you can only rent by the week.
Peaceful quiet convenient location, it pays to join Passport America. Can't beat $24 a nite with all hookups!! What a great place lots of shade , bath houses always clean!!
I loved this small campground, the setting is beautiful! It’s no frills but sites are good sized and pretty level. All sites have FHU’s too. Close enough to the beach and services as well.
Everyone was friendly and helpful. Loved the community fire and cowboy coffee in the morning.
I’m sure I’ll be back!
Very nice area!!! Clean and quiet. Staff are awesome! Planned to stay one night and decided to extend our stay. Very friendly place and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend it. We will definitely be back when in the area!!!!!
Small intimate camp site with RV, bumper pull, 5th wheel and single units to rent. The staff is great and the kitties are super fun and very playful. Can't wait to return
What a hidden gem!!! Well worth the stay. Friendly hosts and fellow campers. Ponds are free to fish, no license for fishing needed. Always leash and clean up after you pets!
I called to get info on renting a cabin. I spoke with Annette, I think that was her name. She was very helpful & provided the following info: The cabins are 2 bedroom with a kitchen, laundry & bathroom. All linens provided. You must make a 3 night reservation minimum. Each night is $75, plus a $100 deposit that’s refundable after a walkthrough. We couldn’t get 3 days off work so did not make a reservation, but I hope the info helps others. We’ll be keeping this on our list of staycation destinations!
I come here at least once if not twice a year from central Illinois, My Daughters and grandchildren live in Long Beach, I absolutely love this campground. it has free firewood, grills, smoker, and very friendly staff. If you are a camp America member you cannot beat the price, also have water and electricity at site, with sewer dump, nice beautiful pond, very peaceful. We have left our camp site and stayed away for a couple nights and nothing was ever disturbed. Highly recommended.
Extremely nice place, small and quaint with some nice ponds on site for fishing
Very nice campground. Butch and crew was very helpful really enjoyed the mornings having coffee with the other guest stayed 7 nights hated to leave but will definitely return for another stay
$12 per night with no limits on Passport America. Small campground but quiet, friendly and peaceful place to call home for a while. Only two pads with 50 amp service, all others 30 amp. No laundry but a laundry mat withing a mile. Fishing ponds all around with lots of shaded pads.
We are here in December. No reservations are taken, but we found several open pads. We got pad #1, a 50 amp level site near the ponds. The folks who know say that the river nearby could flood with heavy rains, so pick a higher spot. So far no problems with flooding even though we got over an 1" of rain last night.
Share a book, playground, fishing, trails and a community campfire makes this a nice place to call home for a while. It looks like there may be lots more to offer in the summer.
They are partnered with an organization called passport America and if you buy a membership for 44$ a year you get half off the regular price which is convenient and a money saver. They have a stocked pond in front a bathroom with shower a pool and WiFi. We loved it.
Very reasonable priced sites. First come first serve. Friendly staff. Full hook ups. Passport America campground.
Well. We stayed 1 night and then had errands to run. So far so good. We will be going back for more nights and hopefully it stays 5 stars.
Very beautiful resort. Incredible ammenities for a family wanting to camp in the beautiful outdoors. Very unique playground for kids and the pond is loaded with fish and you don't even need a fishing license if staying on the resort.
Very clean, and well kept park. All the park employees/rangers are very nice. Really great rates and they are pet friendly. Great place to stay!
Magic River Campgrounds is the birth place for Passport America and as a member we stay for $12.00 a night otherwise it will cost you $20+ per night. I love that there is a community fire with free fire wood that brings ppl together and starts new friendships and reunits old relationships. The owner of this beautiful campground also supplies free coffee and at times snacks are provided by either the campground members or the owner himself as well as a fresh fire already started for your morning start up. If you wish to explore what the area has to offer It is just less than a 15 minute drive to the beach which sits at the Gulf of Mexico. For the right season they have an in ground pool as well as a Bath house and full hook ups. If your into games they have a horseshoe pits and if fishing is more your speed they have a few beautiful pounds to choose from or just take a walk around the park to take in the natural settings. You are also just a short drive away from downtown that has many types of activities such as fine dinning to Bottlenose Dolphin Cruises and if the Night life is what you like most there are local entertainment from Jazz to Modern Fanfairs as well as casinos. I highly recommend Magic River Campgrounds for your next Mississippi Vacation.
