Awesome campground with beautiful river sites. Well worth paying the extra few dollars to have the river site. Nothing fancy at all but full hook ups at all sites so you are able to stay for a day or month with no issues. It is nice and quiet as well because tents are not allowed. All in all a wonderful addition to the west Michigan camping scene.
Susan Brunson
What a great RV park in the Grand Rapids area! If you are here in the summer months, be sure to get tickets for The Grand Lady paddlewheel boat. We've been here two and a half weeks and have had a great experience. The shower rooms are among the cleanest and best organized that we've seen. The office staff is great. We'll be back every time we're in Grand Rapids.
Dave Meekhof
Great place to camp, and also enjoy a leisurely riverboat cruise with live music and friends. Greg Boynton and his father have done an awesome job building out this amazing campground and The Grand Lady Riverboat. You will think you are in the back bayous of the great Mississippi, but you are literally minutes from downtown Grand rapids. A peaceful idyllic place to "come apart and rest for a while".

What a beautiful and relaxing campground! Clean, quiet, no constant hassles from workers trying to babysit grown adults. This is the best place we’ve camped at by FAR! Listed #11 in the Nation for best campgrounds and they live up to it 100%! We will be here time and time again. We had a pull through and 2 River sites. Property was clean and well kept, we had a tiny red ant problem and they came immediately to take care of them. The owners are on site and make sure to greet you as you pass by. What a respectable and beautiful couple they are! Had our DogWatch fence going and the dogs were just loving the place! Everyone camping here was super polite. The pool! The pool was heated, every morning I walked I saw them testing the water and maintained it throughout the day. Laundry, showers, bathroom, ALL SPIC AND SPAN! Laundry was $2 each and the washer and dryer worked beautifully! Plenty of wood at all times to purchase any time of the day or night! If we had to pick our 3 favorites, it would be the upkeep on the sites, the VIEW, and the giving campers peace and not constantly monitoring them. Everyone is trusted to be respectful of others privacy, noise, etc. And everyone there does it. Well done!!!! As business owners, we understand every angle, you’ve hit the nail on the head!!! We will see you soon!

So happy I found this place! Couple night stay right on the water felt like I was far away from reality but it was just a quick drive into Grand Rapids. Slabs look new and the campsite where clean and well maintained. Definitely recommend and will stay again when in the area.
Shannon Nachtmann
Better than most camgrpunds by a lot, but not the best within 2 hours if you want to travel northwest. Everything you could want, close to golf, bars, restaurants, shopping, major highways, even an airport. If you want to camp anywhere close to this area, this is the best choice, and one you likely can't go wrong with.
Chris Hoover
Great location. Very nice pool. On river. All sites are full hookup. Playground for kids.
Larry Crawford
Awesome campground to go to probably the best showers at any Campground clean big double shower heads campgrounds clean owners awesome boat ride is awesome if you don't make it there shame on you
Vivien Pierson
Wonderful campground!! Well cared for, quiet, clean and so close to downtown Grand Rapids. We went to the Gerald R Ford Presidential Museum in 15 minutes. There is a Meijers close by for things you might have forgotten. For being so close to everything it is VERY quiet and peaceful.
The bathhouse is modern, clean and has 2 washers and dryers. There are posted instructions for turning on the shower (2 heads) which I appreciated having had a tough time and scalded body parts at other parks.
They could use one more directional sign near the "no outlet" sign as this confused us and GPS sent us through a (beautiful) subdivision.
We will definitely be back in summer to take advantage of the pool and riverboat. The pool was open but on this October week the 38 degrees were not inviting.
Sites are large and roads paved. Most sites are close to level.
Lisa Gavit
This is my favorite place to camp! The campground is well kept! The staff is amazing! The pool is beautiful, nice laundry & bathrooms. Dog friendly, Grand River Steamboat cruise ride on the "Grand Lady"and you can't beat being so close to Grand Rapids.
Cathy Daggett
Just spent 5 very enjoyable days at this lovely campground. It is kept up very well, showers and bathrooms are exceptionally clean. It has laundry facilities in the bathhouse and a beautiful pool. We will definitely be back in the future.
Polly Kay
We have been travelling in our RV for >5 months and have been to many campgrounds. This campground is really one of
nicest we have been to. Bathrooms were very private and super clean, site space was very roomy and the staff was super nice. We loved this campground and highly recommend it to others.
Cheryl Yetter
Nice park. Bath house immaculate. Pool nice. Take their Steamboat cruise. Take a picnic dinner on board, they serve a full bar. There is live music that varies, we had a bluegrass duo that was very nice. The next night was a 5 guy band, we heard them going by. PARTY BOAT!
Bill Cooper
We give Steamboat Park 3.5 stars. The main reason was the construction going on in the park. I give them credit for fixing roads and adding concrete patios. But while we were there the truck noise and road work was a nuisance. On the day we were leaving they were doing major roadwork. Roads were torn down to dirt and mud. The trucks made it almost impossible to get out of the park. The park should have notified us before the day we were leaving. We only barely got our 37 ft motorhome with tow vehicle out of the park.
Besides this, the park is great. Nice campground that locals crowd to over the weekends. The concrete pads will be a nice addition. We tracked lots of dirt into our RV. We will come back, but AFTER all construction is done.
NOTE: This campground does not refund for ANY reason. We had to eat one night due to a late arrival because of an illness. Also, be VERY careful if you turn right onto 10th street. Our RV and tow hit the curb. It’s very tight.
Adam Michel
Been here two months now and couldn't be happier. Only RV park we could find that would allow our older motorhome and was open in the winter, and we really lucked out. Park is gorgeous and super well maintained, the owners obviously love this place. Being right on the river is awesome, and residents fish right from the bank. The airport is a small commuter airport and you don't really hear anything though the trees so don't let that scare you off. I would love to stay here through the summer, but monthly rates are only offered in the off season.
Holly Cooper
This campground was in a strange place for sure! We thought our GPS messed up until we caught sight of the beautiful riverboat. This campground has all the amenities. It's close to town and shopping but a perfectly hidden getaway in the trees! They have laundry, nice new clean showers. The pool is amazing with views of the river. campsites are small but mostly pull through. We had great neighbors also. Will definatly return!
V Gonzales
Beautiful campground on the river! Quiet, clean, close to many attractions. We've seen deer, ducks, turtles, geese etc. Long gravel pads with nice size yards in between. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Don't forget to ride the riverboat whole you're here. Owners and staff are friendly and accommodating! We will definitely be back.
Tonua Mckinstry
Quiet and peaceful good for stargazing at night did go during off-season so I can’t tell you what it’s like in the summer
Jeff Parker
I actually had a wonderful time here. I found the campground to be be very clean. The staff was nice and friendly. The other guest were friendly. Another thing I really liked is the apear to create their own firewood, split it and sell it. Which the bundles were priced well and generous and also local hard wood. My fires burned longer less waste that you get at some places. While I didn't have a boat. Several people did and seemed to have fun on the river. Kids were fishing and having a great time. I will definitely go again. My only complaint was the actual campsite was dirt. It would be nice to have gravel. Some were gravel. Not sure if my spot was newer, older.
Lauren Monroe
Stayed here for the winter and had a good experience. Being on the river is peaceful, opportunity to fish exists. There is an airport on the property and it was really neat to see planes come in and out. Multiple paved walking / biking trails nearby within easy driving distance along with parks with playgrounds and splash pad for children. Park host Norm was very friendly and we loved his dog. The payment process for us as winter guests was all online and it was very easy to use and I appreciated the visual breakdown. Sabrina the main point of contact for our reservation was thorough, knowledgeable and kind. Thank you for being open in the winter time and providing a pleasant and safe living place for us.
Bethany D
Friendly and welcoming staff at check in. Extremely clean bath facilities. Nice showers with good pressure and hot water. Big pool that was very clean, and overlooking the river. No shade at all though. There are two tables that could accommodate patio umbrellas if you thought to bring one. Smal-ish playground but the kids loved it and never got bored with it. River sites are very spacious. Nice picnic table. Overall very quiet at night. Traffic was enforced to keep things slow and safe. We had a great time and will be back!
The only thing I didn't enjoy was people checking in late, at 11 pm and later slamming doors and shining lights into the camper. The only way around that would be not to allows late check ins but it wasn't a huge deal.
Joshua Hupp
This campground is gorgeous! Perfect time of year for the foliage. Each spot has room so you don't feel like you're on top of each other. Well maintained.
Kenneth Severn
This campground is on the Grand River, in a secluded area east of a small airport. The other guests have been very quiet, which makes for a nice relaxing day. The pool and shower/restroom building are kept exceptionally clean by the staff. My overall experience here has been very positive, so I will certainly be back when I'm in the area!
Arlinda Hill
Stayed there for a week with our four kids and dog. It was a very nice quiet campground, even though it is was full. The place has all hookups, a pool, playground, showers, and washer/dryer. We had a happy stay.
James Torrey
We just purchased a new to us pop up camper and needed a quick trip to test everything out before traveling far and wide with the kids. Turns out 20 minutes away was more than we could have hoped for! Very quiet, very clean, and friendly. We will be visiting here again!
Denise Crapse
I saw this place advertised & I thought I would check it out... they have a campground but it only allows RVs, no tents at all... the steamboat ride was most enjoyable and they had entertainment on the time that I went... very friendly staff & beautiful views along the boat ride...
Amber Boetsma
A fun little gem hidden in the back of Jenison. A nice area and a well kept campground for the most part. Obviously the Grand River is and always has been disgusting - a beautiful sight, the smell, not so much.
Bill Hovinga
Very nice campground so close to the city yet you feel like you're so far away with the river right next to you. Just be sure you get your dates right. Several in our party misunderstood the reservation agent when they called them and we're rudely told to leave, no grace or compassion from management.
Kathryn Russel
Beautiful setting. Quiet. Bathhouse clean and wash/dry very affordable. Pool was just right and provided much fun. Family in town (after 2 years) (for a wedding) was drawn to our 2 sites for impromptu visiting. Fellow RV campers were so kind and accommodating. THANK YOU. Loved the opportunity to walk and be near river. Lovely experience overall. Again, thanks!
Bob CAMPBELL
Great time. The boat ride was awesome. The band was much better than I had expected, to the point that I would love to do it again!!! Clean and neat park and boat..
Adriel Brunson
Clean, quiet park with stunning river views. RV hookups are well done and the bath house is one of the best we've seen.
Kim Brugnoli
We stayed overnight here when our car broke down nearby and we couldn’t have been “stuck” at a better place!
The campground was beautiful! Everything was brand new. Showers were fantastic. The heated pool overlooking the river (although we didn’t use it) looked amazing!
And the staff was phenomenal—so nice! We ended up having to stay longer than the checkout time due to our vehicle being in repair and they were more than understanding.
Definitely a great little place!
Roy Gloria
Good, clean, quiet campground with a nice swimming pool.
Timothy Kays
Great campsite along a peaceful river. Super helpful staff in a new campground. We visit often because it is a great location. Only negative, they do need to add a playground. The pool is great! Edited Jan 2023. They have added a playground a few years ago and it’s great.
Marie Oxley
Very courteous admin personnel, paved main road around campground, quiet, close to Grandville and Jenison stores and restaurants.
Kim Boersen
What a hidden gem. Very beautiful, quiet nice clean campground. Great clean pool! At 10pm its pretty much quiet and dark and didn't hear much commotion until 9am ish. We will for sure return.
Debra Houser BSN RN
The sites are nice & varied with full hook up. The office staff is friendly and helps out when needed as well as the groundkeepers. It's on the river.
dan lane
Wanted some place between work for my wife and I to do the shakedown cruise of our new (to us) camper. Steamboat Park was the place. It looks a little sketch as you go past a few warehouses but the park itself is very clean, well-kept and very quiet. We had a spot right on the river.
Great location. Decent little playground for kids. Showers are very clean. Pool was unavailable but they were doing some work on it.
They are adding on so there may be a little dust.
Our site was full hook up (#40) and the only negative thing I can say is that we had a pretty good slope immediately off our door side so it made sitting under the awning difficult when it rained.
Bring bug spray as it is a few feet from the Grand River.
Would definitely recommend.
John Ostlund
What an amazing campground right on the Grand River. There is so much to do while camping and enjoying the clean pool set up. Watching and going on the river boat was the highlight of the stay. Looking forward to another trip where hopefully fishing is involved. Also very excited for the expansion they are currently working on which I was told would be open for the 2022 season.
Deborah Hoover
$60 a night for 3 nights on a holiday weekend. Our site was a nice sized FHU pull-thru in a crowded campground. The pool and restrooms were in good condition. Nice views of the river.
Kyle George
This is a great small campground with river front lots and heated pool.
John Albritton
This place is nice for the family. Full hook ups with power and sewer in the right spots.
Curt Brackenrich
At first glace it looked a little cramped, but we soon discovered it's because of the slant parking they have designed for the actual campsites. We were on the Grand River and the back of our site opened up nicely. The pool and bathhouse were spotless, and the check-in was done online the day before.
This is a well run campground, near to most things in GR. I was not really looking forward to this to be honest, now we've already planned a return trip.
Austin Hughes
We are currently here for 3 weeks. The parks is beautiful, and very well kept. I would rate a 5 star, but I would like to see WiFi for the price.
Al Zemola
Set up nice. Sites are nicely spaced. Nice grass around the whole area and well maintained.
Pool was clean.
Ron HARRIS
Lovely campground with ample site dimensions. Lots of shade & easy access to sites even if your rig is very long. Just be careful to review your credit card charges for your site! Be sure what you expected to pay is what you are charged. Very nice owners!!!
Amy Cozart-Lundin
Stayed for a few weeks while waiting for our house to close and had a wonderful experience. Friendly staff that all care about their guests and the upkeep of the campground. We stayed at the end of the off season so no special activities happening, but I’d love to return during the summer once all the amenities are open.
Becky Nicholas
This is our second stay at Steamboat both have been equally pleasant. Busy time of year with huge construction project underway and making ready for the summer season, staff has been super friendly, polite and considerate. Neat, clean place to spend a few weeks- with a few really positive changes coming for the future!!
Come and stay, you won’t be disappointed!!
Sharea J. Smallegan
This is our first camping outing this year and we are loving it. The staff/owners are so very nice. Everyone we encounter has been so awesome! Waking up to the view of the grand river has been so relaxing and refreshing. The location is ideal (not to far away from anything) the pool and playground are great and the bathhouse is so convenient! Also the grand lady tour was well worth it!
Jennifer Kline
Best find of the season! We are so happy we found this campground. It was clean and everyone was friendly. Sites all seem to be a good size. The sites along the river seem to be slightly bigger. Bathhouse was spotless! Close to town of you forgot or needed something. Can’t wait to go back!
Missy Hughes
Just spent the 4th of July weekend at this campground and it was super nice. We were in one of the sites at the back of the campground right on the water. The site was clean and well shaded (thank goodness, since it was super hot this weekend). The combined private bathroom/shower rooms were awesome and super clean, and spacious, I loved that they provided a squeegee so that you could clean the water off the floor when you were done showering. It really helped when you were trying to get dressed. I would highly recommend this campground!
Ray Rickert
Just opened this year. This is going to be a nice campground. They have a nice pool, nice shower and restroom building, level sites that are easy to back into or pull through, water, electric, and sewer hook ups, and a beautiful view of the Grand River. They still have some manicuring and landscaping to do but this takes time. I LOVED the late check out time, it was really nice not to have to hustle to get out by 11 or 1. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Karl Nordstrom
This new campground is an up and comer. They are doing everything right with every campsite having 50amp service plus sewer and water. Many of their campsites are right along the Grand River plus you are a short walk from their river boat, which takes you back to another day and age. The heated pool plus clean and modern restroom and shower building makes this a great place to camp now and an even better place to camp over the next few years.
And I am a staunch supporter of the state park and national park systems. But l like this campground for its peaceful setting and thoughtful setup of services.
Tyler Allie
There are no lights (or street lights for that matter) at night time within this campground, so bring your flashlight. On our first evening, the "campground manager" knocked on our door at 10:25pm, to tell us to turn out the LED lighting over our gooseneck. We looked around and all sorts of other rigs had their LED lights and string lights on. It is INAPPROPRIATE to knock on patrons door at that hour. As you enter, you see a number of ratty seasonal sites (including the ratty campground managers site). Property rests on its location and offers very little beyond that. Owners seem to manage the pool with high discipline. They should stop leveraging a campground manager who seems to pick/choose inappropriately timed interventions.
Caleb Salo
Nice campground! Did a pull through, full hook up site. Quiet and peaceful right along the river. Definitely doing the steamboat ride next time we stay!
Michael P
Nice RV park along the Grand River. Full hookups with no issues. There is a pool. There's also a steamboat - closed due to the pandemic. Sites have picnic table and fire ring. They sell bundled wood on the honor system. Construction was in progress to add more sites but that is only a temporary nuisance. There is however a small airport adjacent to this park so you will, on occasion, hear loud propeller planes taking off. Some potholes in the roads but they filled them during our stay. We made the reservation online and checked in over the phone - office staff lady was very friendly.
Bethany Wolfe
Beautifully kept grounds and pool. Staff and owners are helpful and friendly. Don't forget to take a ride on The Grand Lady. Whether you want a relaxing sightseeing ride or a fun energetic party, they offer so much!
Richard VanderMey
There is nothing like this Campground. We had a site right on the Grand River, actually caught a Chinook right behind our Travel Trailer. Pool is heated and relaxing, showers and restrooms are cleaner than most hospital restrooms. Were going on the steamboat picnic trip on Sunday. Hard to believe we're only 10 minutes from the big city.
Tom Keane
Very nice RV park along the Grand River. Some of the campsites are right along the river but cost extra $$. The price is comparable to other RV. There is a mixture of campers and motorhomes. Very small pool (30 swimmers max) but great bathrooms/showers and laundry.
Monthly rate is currently competitively priced but word is they are eliminating the free week in the monthly and going to increase the weekly rate. I would anticipate the monthly rate increasing by 30 to 40 percent in 2020. If this happens look for another campground in the area. Within 20 miles there are several RV resorts and they all have better amenities
Cynthia Pollet
Beautiful views of the Grand River--even if your site is not directly on it! Owners are actively involved in making sure you have what you need. Bath house is very private and clean. Pool is warm and right alongside the River! It's one of my new "happy places."
Dave strait
Good price. Good amenities and spacious lots. We were lucky enough to get a newer site. Would recommend to all..
John Dunne
We pulled in here for a night on our trip. Nice playground, quiet, and great views. Be careful if you have little ones there are some steeper slopes near the river. Most campsites have a gentle slope to go down to the river and fish.
Kevin Morris
Not a bad location. Not much to do for the kids as far as activities. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Need more shaded areas especially around pool and camp sites. Heat was inescapable with no shade to be found. Pretty good place, but for what they charge it is fairly easy to find another campsite with more activities available for the kids. Staff was nice and helpful, but this place wouldn't be my first choice.
Chris Jaquez
This is our second time staying and it just keeps getting better. The park is very well maintained and the owners take pride in addressing the needs of their customers. Heated pool and bathhouse/laundry room are always clean. Thanks for another wonderful stay. See you next year.
Robert Saul
Very peaceful campground. Beautiful waterfront lots.
Jay Zwibelman
Beautiful campground! Right on a river. Well maintained and clean . Nice pool and bathrooms. They have a refurbished steamboat and offer rides. Really pleasant. I highly recommend. For RV, not tenting.
Randall Kerr
Great place to camp on the Grand River!
l Smith
This campground is one of the best I have ever stayed at! The showers are immaculate. Very very friendly and a beautiful view. Also has a wonderful pool and playground.
Jeff Neumann
If you're looking for a great new place to camp in the Grand Rapids area you really need to check out the wonderful Steamboat Park! Just opened this year and minutes from downtown GR. It's right along the beautiful Grand River, has a pool, and it's run by the most nice, friendly, and welcoming folks you'll ever meet.
Phil Hurlburt
Great location and is right along side the river. Full service sites. Easiest way to reserve, pay and communicate. Very clean and nice showers and restrooms
Craig Williamson
Great place close enough to GR to day trip. Our site on the river was large and the biew was great. We sis not have time to go in the pool or take a ride on the paddle boat but will on oir 2nd visit here. Greg was helpful and polite. Not much to do at the campground but a very clean and relaxing place. I was lucky to watch a eagle dip into the river and grab a fish
Jam South
Location, Location, location wow...really enjoyed the campground, the employees were super nice. My wife and i were relaxed and felt well taken care off. Boat ride was awesomeness.
Becky Janes
Dont take site 57 here. Our view is a huge electrical set up. Now I know why it was the only site left. Very disappointing.
Update: Greg was quick to come by our site and try to make us happy with the decision to stay here. He stated they are currently expanding the campground and will eventually have more paving done and more sites to choose from . Moved us to a different site for tmrw night .
Kurtis Schwaiger
This is our go-to campground when in SW Michigan. Removed one star because the sites can get a little muddy when it rains. Pool and bathroom area is well kept. I hope they can get some paved sites in the near future!
Ken Ferguson
This is a hidden gem that's just popped up on the campground scene this year.. 2017. My familiy and I are normally rustic campers/backpackers. We stayed there to save some cash to drop in Grand Rapids over the weekend--zoo, beer, restaurants, etc. Despite our love of the primitive, we have stayed at many types of campgrounds over the years. This one is beautiful.
We tented at site 50. It had partial shade from a hackberry tree. First of all, the bathrooms were sparkling clean and new! The pool was gorgeous and was a saltwater style pool. The views were great, looking out at the Grand River. Access to Grand Rapids was quick, though just mildly twisty.
PLUS we got a few views of the paddle boat that passed by and the airplanes taking off at the airport.
The only negative was that, well, it's an RV type campground so... there were quite a few RVs. i.e. It's weird walking around in a campground, at night, with a bunch of massive flat screen T.V.s glowing Archie Bunker into the darkness. It kinda spoils the charm of a campground. Though, I suppose many of you love it... Baffling.
Overall, just about everything was perfect about this place. My family loved it. My daughter (14) said, "This is more of a resort than a campground!"
Jesse Rook
Great Hospitality! Site and campground was clean and the views were spectacular.
Sam Dee Jr
A work in progress when I was there. Nice big pull-throughs, well planned,, will be tops when finished. They only activity, besides swimming is a paddle boat ride. Well worth going. Campground is directly on the Grand River.
Joe Claibourn
This was a beautifully kept campground with plenty of space between campers. It is located within feet of the river bank! It's clean and a great place to camp.
Janet Denney
Beautiful views of the river from all sites. Water pressure is good! Sites are big and staff is great. We will be back!
Chelsea Wanczyk
Loved this campground. Definitely want to come back and get a site on the water.
Richard Anderson
Best campsite on our trip. Newer facilities, great shower house and solid services with ample sites and firepits. Would definitely come back.
Glenyce Bentzer
Huge campsites! Easy to navigate our 43’ rig. Clean with a great picnic table and fire ring at your site. Staff was very helpful.
Bill Kibby
We had a great time this labor day weekend. Good people all around. Fishing was slow but still a great time. Large lots, easy hook up. We will be back for sure.
Amy Zidel
Beautiful, peaceful and clean campground! This place is a gem.
Bryan Ahlhorn
This place is right on the river. My rear view is all river. They have a heated pool. A real steamboat to go up and down the river. Looks like it will be so fun once the season gets under way.
david hall
This is one of the most awesome campgrounds there is around the Grand Rapids area very clean very nice and knowledgeable people at work here just an all-around beautiful Campground come and visit
Beth Willoughby
It's a very nice campground. Nicely spaced sites, clean nice restrooms and showers and beautiful views. The visitor policy is restrictive and expensive and frustrating.
Bob Freeman
Very nice facility. Close to major highways, but hidden away and peaceful on the river. Staff very friendly, facilities clean, sites level and spacious.
Trent Vogel
Very nice view of river. Bathrooms are very nice also. There is a pool but didn't get in a little to cold.

Nice campgrounds Close to town. ALL of the spots are full hookup .

Campground is brand new, spacious sites on a quiet section of the Grand River. So beautiful!

Not very many trees. Better for RV camping maybe than for tents and campers without A/C. Well cared for however.
