Reviews of Jackson (Andrew) Park
will raff
Jackson park is a gem nestled in Chicago. They have a lot of space to do many different activities. I saw people doing everything from jogging to gender reveal party’s and everything in between. They also have another gem inside a gem. I’m referring to the zen garden they built to give people a place to kick back and relax, It was beautiful. I feel we should have one of these in every city. I suggest if you see the Museum of science and industry you should take a quick trip over to Jackson park. Heck go there just cause.
Erik Nay
This place was absolutely amazing for kids and adults alike.
4 floors of awesomeness.
Lego exhibits were sweet and so was everything else.
Ajimon Thomas
Went to take some blooms pics today. Felt like it is going to be gone in a few days, but it was still really pretty. Parked for free on some of the side-streets. Follow @ajitho.photography for more :)
Andrew Tuma
Very quiet in the park due to newly cold weather, brrrr. Nice to have a small spot to be alone in a busy area, great view of the museum and easy to catch a bus. If you like big open spaces then this is a decent spot for you! Smiling is optional. I hope you have a blessed day.
Raul Huerta
A beautiful experience to visit Jackson park on Spring with the Cherry Blossoms across the lake from the museum. Many people come for the Views from all over Chicagoland. Also do not forget about stop y the Japanese Garden for a relaxing walk.
Shawn Montgomery
Have loved going to MSI since I was a kid. Now I take my kids. They enjoy some of the treasures I did and so much more. Plenty of interactive and interesting things for them to do and explore. We attended during the 80th Christmas around the world event. Very beautiful displays all around.
Nathalie
It is a small but very nice place to spend time with the family, the entrance is free, the parking lot is paid but not much
Rose Ocampo
I had a very good time in the museum of science and industry. A lot of activities to participate in. I will surely be coming back. Kids loved it
jonathan kelley
I freaking love the museum. The lego exhibit is exquisite. Fascinating art installation. Complaint time.
There were more than a handful of interactive pieces that were inoperable. Sad times for my experience. And, the $25.00 waterbottle my wife bought wont keep ice for more than a few hours.
On the flipside, still a great experience and will be going back, hopefully with their interactive pieces functioning like they should.
sophia ruiz
Our family always enjoy MSI every time we visit. They always have great exhibits. Last Fall we went there for the MCU or Marvel exhibit. This Summer we went to see the Lego exhibit. We had a blast. Both kids loved it!
Francis Lau
A beautiful park. Yoko Ono, wife of John Lennon, has an installation on display here.
Beth Klobuchar-Mendez
spent the day with our family visiting from Mexico. It would be nice if they had more Spanish translation at the museum.
Luke Burkholder
We drove through this park while waiting for the Museum to open, so it was pretty cold November morning, but it was still a really nice park. Lots of nice winding roads and paths to make it accessible, but still green enough to feel like an escape from the city. Probably a pretty good place for birdwatching if the weather's nice.
Debra LaRocco
It's a long drive for me but what a beautiful park. The Japanese Garden is so peaceful. And it's so cool that it's the home of Yoko Ono’s Skylanding. I'd love to go back to explore more of the park. I recommend checking it out. It's going to be beautiful when the leaves change colors.
gee moi
I've always enjoyed the Museum of Science and Industry! Still has a lot of good exhibits although the circus world is gone. Visited the week before Christmas so it was very crowded. Plenty of seating to eat lunch and good food to choose from. Will visit again on a free day (for residents of the city of Chicago) or getting a museum pass from the library.
Gilbert Hawkins
Yes I've been going there since I was a child and I love it. I grew up going there. Always have been excited about my experience there. And I will continue going there for the rest of my life. And I recommend it to anyone to go to the museum of science and Industrial. I guarantee you that they will enjoy their self.
Paola Bernasconi
Excellent place to visit with the family. You need 3-4 hours to walk around it.
Hugues Thevenin Jr.
A must see if you are visiting Chicago, great photo op.
Dr. Ratna Chaudhary
Went for Hanami or Cherry blossoms flower watching this weekend. The weather being no sweater weather was the Cherry on the cake. Enjoyed the small walk. Stopped to take tons of pics.( Some trees were more popular with those touristy folks so avoided them) One might get get just another weekend to watch these beauties before they fall down . Past weekend would have had the best blooms view but the bleak , rainy day made me stay in. Do stop and spend a moment with the wild flowers on the trail too. Very therapeutic.
Chicago Reviewer
The Japanese garden is one of the serene places that you can visit. Yoko Ono sculpture. Lots of wild life sanctuary, great to walk, have picnic. There is a driving range, a paid and one free parking lot. Basketball court. The parking lot off 57th (paid) was the place for weed. Cleaned up considerably now.
JoAnne Berg
My aunt's ashes were spread here it is a beautiful Park! She actually saved a girl's life when she was a little girl in this park the girl had fallen into the water in the winter as they were jumping from boat to boat. She held the girls hood of her Coat until adults came
Zachary Aument
Incredible! And the site of the 1893 World Fair
Kaushik Shubhank
Superb place to see the cherryblossom during its season. Nice to have ample space for pay per plate parking. Very nice views near the lakefront. Great option to spend some family time in the serene ambience there!
Brandi Cardona
I always love this museum and since we were on a time budget because we were from a school field trip the people at certain exhibits made sure the kids in my group could go in and have fun.
Antwon McMullen
This has always been a beloved public park in Chicago. Many, many excellent opportunities for amazing photos during all seasons. 📸 …
Jay “JT” Santana
Amazing Chicago park!! Lots of space. Excellent place to people watch!
Frank Swing
Some stuff is closed off in winter. Parking is limited. Beautiful location for photography and videos.
Joseph Butler
I am learning to love my community more and more. The cherry blossoms and the Japanese cultural festivities helped me to see the diverse beauty within the Hyde Park community.
Drew Pratt
Enjoy the Museum of Science and Industry, though it was more geared towards children and people without an education in science. The park grounds are safe and well maintained, the city of Chicago did a great job on keeping this park beautiful.
Gazarhya
A good place to come to park up and eat your lunch. Excellent views of the lake and a large car park. No real beach to speak of as its just wave breaking rocks really, I imagine it's spectacular in a storm!
Aeryn Liz
It's a beautiful park and trail but has some really secluded areas. Probably best to bring someone or a group.
CJ M
It’s a great museum. Not a fan of the up charges for exhibits that were previously covered by the entry fee.
Anthony Berry
This was a Sunrise Service coordinated by Pastor John Hannah's Church. (New Life Covenant Southeast) The service was AWESOME!! I have been a Believer for a long time. However it was my first sunrise service. I must say, praising GOD on the beach at 5am touched me in a way I have never been touched by the Holy Spirit!! HALLELUJAH 🙏 …
Jhaya and Jafari West
Went here in July but we didn't go in. Even though we didn't go in the outside was beautiful enough. I was a beautiful day and we saw some ducks in the pond. Overall I would recommend just because of the view but it might be better on the inside and I'm hoping to visit again.
Ngocyen Truong
Nice place to walk, little hot as I was there on June 30th but the wagon is great to go
Douglas Lewis Sr
I had the greatest time here! The food was tasty, the server was friendly and attentive to our table...
Mirta Manriquez
It's beautiful but unfortunately no cherry blossoms 🌸🌸 …
Matthias Lampe
Huge park with a lot of different areas to explore South of the museum for science and engineering.
Come in Spring in May for the cherry blossom. You can check on the park district website of they bloom. The trees are located around the lake south of the museum.
Jonathan Douglas
A sprawling urban park with numerous paths, meadows, lawns, courts, fields and even a golf course. This large park area is bordered on the north by 57th Drive at the Museum of Science and Industry, the west by Stony Island Avenue, the south by 63rd Street and the west by Lake Michigan. There really is something for just about everyone, although off-street parking is more limited. On the weekends you will often find large groups of picnickers, walkers and joggers. With the nearby construction of the Presidential library, it is currently a bit of a mess on the west side, but still worth spending time at the site of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition.
Francine Collins
Grew up over here in Hyde Park— it didn’t disappoint.
Elliott W.
Quality park and two playgrounds! What more could you ask for? Would recommend.
Stella Rojo
Always enjoy this museum. Unfortunately some staff really don't have manners and just doesnt care about accurate info and customer service.
Madel silva
Excepcional place for kids and grown ups. Available facilities and wonderful service 😁 …
Maureen Rzasa
Absolutely stunning garden that we can share with each other for free. You have to see this garden.
Mami T Phillips!
I was just near this park as I was visiting the museum of Science and Industry across the pond there with my son's class for a fieldtrip. The park Looked beautiful but we didn't actaully go To it. 🤷🏽♀️👌🏽🤷🏽♀️😊 …

This is one of the greatest areas in the Chicagoland, you have a golf course within walking distance, bike path, walking path, the museum of science and industry, harbor and lakeshore drive.
Simple the best sunrises here
Mrudula Borkar
I visited Jackson park and Japanese Garden i.e. Phoenix Garden. Pretty awesome views. The Garden is not so big and since it's on pond, water smells bad!
Reviewer AL
This museum is a jewel I can't even begin to name all the things that I've seen while I was there I've seen like a holographic globe television I've seen all the old cars beautiful beautiful art a contraption called i think the whisper you can actually whisper to a person 30 feet away and it sounds like there standing over your shoulder its nit electrical either blew my mind actually if I try to name everything I'll do it a disservice I'll just post some pictures but I'm going back you need four to five hours to truly see the entirety of it stayed for two hours aND only seen a quarter of it.
Tommy Inglis (PeasFlowChillis)
There is no park in chicago that has more nature or history. Jackson Park is truly the jewel of Chicago Parks.
Adam Wroblewski
Cool little spot in the middle of the city that makes you feel like your in the middle of a forest. We strolled through the park and my wife used the term "Magical" to describe the beautiful trees, the wind rustling through the leaves and the butterfly gardens that were on both sides of the walking path.
Mark Kolbusz
The Mold-a-Rama selection is fantastic! I think there may have been some other mildly interesting things at the museum as well
Beverly Watson Elam
Loved the Nature Park/Grounds designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. I also loved the Japanese Gardens - so tranquil. Here I met Tiffany, who shared the recommendation to Ja' Grill. Also, caught a gospel concert on the beach ( Lake Michigan) and the
"Drummers".
A very nice day !
Andy E
MSI is a great museum. Enjoyed the Christmas trees, trains, science exhibits and more.
Linnetta Taylor
Have been going to the museum since I was a child. Each visit is an adventure and a delight .
Sydney Davis
My pup and I love coming here on the weekends when needing a change of scenery from the neighborhood. He meets new pup friends every time we come and loves practicing on the obstacle course too.
ANDREA GRIFFIN
Another amazing day with my two favorite people, GOD & MY BROTHER. Enjoying all that GOD put in front of us.🙏🕊️🕊️🙏 …
Wesley Lee
Consistently well maintained since my introduction in the 1960's. Recently this area, to include the Lake Michigan shoreline, is constantly undergoing counter-erosion upgrades. There are several marinas, walking paths and is the new location of a presidential library. The cultural sites are a bonus, although the "Gentrification Process" is ongoing limits parking. Plan for difficult/distant parking, but it's worth the effort.
Sashsuv
Great science museum it has me in awe. I recommend going to the giant war submarine I also recommend to pay for the flight simulator
Nicole Quinn
I grew up in Chicago. The lakefront is always an amazing place to see friends, go for a walk , listen to the live drummers, barbecue and have a picnic.
Monica Handy -COOTW Literary Works
I participated in The Walk For Hunger for the Greater Chicago Food Depository with New Life Covenant Church/Pastor John F. Hanna held in this park. It was beautiful!
Tuxedo 26
Was an amazing place. Very beautiful. I'm very glad I found it. I will say too many bee's, bugs, and creepy crawlers around. For my liking tho and if the person is scared of stuff like that. Found an amazing shade and met amazing people here as well. 100% will recommend and come again.
Amelia Tahaney
We rode bikes down from Navy pier. I was very excited to walk around the old fair grounds.
John Shostack
A beautiful , historic park about to be ruined by Barack Obama( on whose campaigns I worked for state and US senator and 2x for president ). His buddy Tiger Woods also wants to turn Chicagos only public 18 hole course, at Jackson pk. into an expensive pro course (with Chicago taxpayer money ). They will also eliminate the 9 hole course at South Shore , so they can take the historic clubhouse and beach.
Conrad Pomykala
Wandering around on a fine sunny day enjoying the trees and seeing the mix of old venerable and new modernistic apartment buildings bordering the park.
David Ornelas
Jackson Bark is one of two dog parks on the south side, although it is undeniably the superior one. Your pup will almost always have a good time here as you are almost always certain to run into another pup family on a nice day. Your fellow dog owner that visit Jackson bark is for the most part informed on dog park etiquette. Everything about this park is great except the organizer/proprietor, pray that you don’t run into him because chances are he’ll give you his spiel and he comes off as unpleasant and forceful. He also thinks that Hyde Park is as far south as the city goes. Which obviously isn’t true.
Richard Camacho
Jackson Park by the museum has some nice sections for walking, biking. The museum is the main attractions as is the lakefront.
victoria thomas
This place was nice make sure you have enough time to explore the whole park
Judy Muth
An awesome place to take kids. We spent the entire day and enjoyed every minute.
Steve Wall
Beautiful park but def not a priority area for Chicago Parks. Wouldn't recommend for children.
Larry Gamble
I love the frog we seen there! We were deep singing for Jesus! Glory be to God the King of Kings! I also love how clean and peaceful it is there! Good place for meditation and tanning! Amen Hallelujah
May Alz
My entire family had a a good educational day here, learned so many things.
Debbie Giardini
Nice park. Felt a little to small for housing a half marathon but a great site overall.
Paul Vanasse
It was a nice place to walk through on my way to the Museum of Science and Industry

This a a great museum even if you can't go in at the present time. It's wonderful to get up close to it walk around. Enjoy the surrounding area. Jackson park and the garden of the Phoenix near by.
Isaac Liu
Beautiful park. The Japanese garden was awesome and there was even a volunteer giving out food for the koi fish there. A must-visit if you go to MSI.
karley Sol
Incredible place with an amazing view to Lake Michigan, beachy sands super relaxing.
Keri Ann
Beautiful sunny day to walk so we chose Jackson Park after visiting the Museum of Science and Tech. It was lovely in 50 degree weather. We're looking forward to visiting again when in bloom.
V Talley
Well maintained exhibits. Fun for the family.
Rob Munds
Using the golf driving range...the price is good and never too crowded with easy parking
Grace Pedersen
Park is beautiful but tons of construction going on right now making it hard to access.
Cheryl McAllister
Attended the festival, Saturday 9/10. Stopped going to festivals in the city, because of the violence that ensues among crowds, but it was like nirvana!
vaxni pro
Nice place to take kids. Very interesting activities
Rodney Yoswig
Parked, walked the grounds went across the street to the lakefront.
Eamon Duede
This is a tremendous, historic park that was constructed for the world's fair. It includes a number of nature trails, fields for soccer and frisbee, tennis courts, and even a driving range. There's also an authentic Japanese garden that was constructed for the world's fair to showcase Japanese culture.
Camilla Hughes
Love it, Love it.....everything so delicious and freshly made with tremendous attention to flavor. Welcoming atmosphere with outdoor sitting on a patio in the rear. Try a combination dinner my favorite is lamb, steak, and salmon with rice and vegetables, Lentil soup, Falafel, and Hummus.
Krista Favorite
Gorgeous park! So peaceful. They had a women at the entrance to give history about the garden. The entrance is free
Shawn Lai
I love Jackson Park, but some recent changes have been disappointing. I have fished at the lagoon there for years and have encountered park rangers doing license checks who have not said anything. In the last year, they began placing signs stating no fishing. The park is a really nice place to walk around and has a really interesting Japanese garden in the middle.
The recent construction of the Obama Center has changed the streets and parking areas at the park, but I am hoping it does not impact the park.
The park is also a heron sanctuary, so you often see huge Grey or Blue Herons flying around or fishing.
Melissa Gutierrez
Beautiful sites and spooky Chicago haunts for anyone interested in HH Holmes and the Columbian exhibition of 1893.
Scott Wishecoby
The Best time Have not been to Sub exhibit Since Grammer School.. HOLY Cow New and Improved One of Chicagos best places to visit if ur from Outta Town..
Stacey Hultgren
Love wandering by this park with my toddler. One note for those going, the parking box/website for the lot closest to the driving range was not working when I was there yesterday (3/31/2022) and all of the other cars in the lot had parking tickets. I did not stay long because of this.
Lucas Mendes
Amazing museum, is giant!
Michelle Caballero
Nice park, they have a beautiful Japanese garden...the scenery is breathtaking !

Jackson Park is a good place for an annual picnic clean and peaceful!🙂 …

I haven't been in years so I took my Daugjter last week. Everything was different than I remember. (In a good way)The Legos display was very elaborate indeed! The Hall of mirrors was awesome as well as the indoor tornado. You can turn it up/down and play with it. The planes were cool and pretty much everything was 👍🏾 …

Very cool to hang and enjoy between museums and stuff
Alex R
Museum is fantastic, park itself is rather empty and aside a golf course there is no activity.
charlly ortiz
We had so much fun, we have been coming here for many years. It's always nice to come back.
Eli Stewart
This park is beautiful. I only regret not taking allergy medicine before coming. It made me feel like I was living a cottage core fantasy even though I was still nestled deep in Chicago.
HP Visser
It is a nice area for picnics, the museum quarter and the restrooms are clean
Chester G
Went over the the MSI (Museum of Science and industry) and learned quite a bit. It's amazing how as a child we must have gone here 6 times with our school but as a adult I've come to much appreciate the Museum more.

It was nice to see how much of the park is under construction for the Obama Library and renewing it upgrading facilities that had been seriously n neglect being refurbished. Looking forward to more improvement
Ronald Johnson II
I took my daughter and her sister after my daughter's graduation. The parking lot was packed, but I was able to find parking fairly quickly. Then I experienced the drummers, a group of random individuals that bring their bongos to the beach and hold an impromptu jam session... AWESOME!!!
The other beach goers were very friendly and we very much enjoyed ourselves until the sun set on us, lol. A great time and beautiful memories for sure. I'll definitely be going back 😉👉🏽
Jaclyn Stuard
Had a great experience aside from the one path to The Garden of the Phoenix being closed off and we had to walk all around the Columbia Basin to get from where we were parked to the garden. The cherry blossoms were in bloom and it was so magical. The parking was only 6 bucks for 2 to 4 hours which was pretty fair and easy to find. People were driving kinda crazy through the lot though, so be cautious.
David Utidjian
Awesome clean simple and direct.
Oscar Rodriguez
Lakefront trail is up ahead and it is worth the drive 😍 …
Melissa Morgan
Sort of easy to get lost in but very pretty

John Johnson
We really enjoyed our visit here. Such a great feeling of historic appreciation. Our teenage daughter enjoyed it just as much
Victoria G.
I hadn't been here in quite some time. Took my son and his girlfriend and we had a great experience. We couldn't see everything because certain attractions were closed. I suspect it was due to Covid. But, overall it was good.
The down side: I suggest you bring your own snacks. The cost of snacks/meals and drinks is expensive.
sharon harris
A beautiful place to visit if you're in chicago.
Cejay Virgo
Nice outting when there's nothing to do. Lake front is right up the street. Golf course tennis basketball track field
Ervin Eliud
Love the park! So much wildlife along the west. Coming here is like going back in time, with the nearby Garden of the Phoenix and it’s gorgeous architecture 🤩 …

Nika Isreal
Great park for the dogs.. lots of things for them to do
Delia Todd
Large beautiful park with a lake and a wooded island. The Japanese garden on the island is small but very nice. The northernmost bridge over the lake is closed due to needing repair, which makes the walk very long from the parking lot to the Japanese garden.
PJ Delp
Absolutely amazing and beautiful! Great area for family picnics!
Haley marie
Very nice little set of islands to explore.
M. Roc Pe'rine
This place has really cleaned up in the last 20years. Total turn-around for the better. It's a much safer place and cleaner. Good for a walk alone or with others. Even in the winter when its covered with snow its a nice place to get away. Walk paths and bike friendly and if you trust the lake-life, go for it and fish.
Tim Allen
Beautiful scenary for Dj EMANUEL'S PropHouse/Warehouse reunion event.I enjoyed myself, the music, the atmosphere & lucked up on choice parking in spite of the crowd.
Nikita Tayal
I had a great experience , as I went there in winters. There was snow all around. Had amazing views. Though it was quiet windy. Check for weather updates before visiting.
shivani shukla

Srinivas Rao DB
Fantastic location at the beginning of the front street. Usually crowded.
Ryan Madlener
This park is lit! The Japanese garden especially!
Kimberly Keaton
3 stars only because I didn't explore the entire park. However, engaging atmosphere, family friendly and quit entertaining, music playing, a plus.
Getting outdoors was good yet I maintained a healthy social distance w/mask. I'll go again.
Ashir C Edakkarayil
Should go with kids so that they can understand things easily
B
Great view. You can go there and gather your thoughts. Watch out for the wildlife tho. I saw a pre historic raccoon there. No he was actually big as a dog. That’s all
Cardell Purdie
I haven't seen this course since 1974. I'm impressed with the changes. The greens are rolling very well. The fairways are plush and well maintained. Pace of play needs improvement. Players with carts need to move their carts off the fairway while putting. Green fees are very reasonable, and the staff is exceptional. Overall, this is a good place to play golf.
Linn Miranda
The Japanese Garden within the park is wonderful! My husband thought it was a bit spiritual. It seemed like a popular photography place, we saw a group of teens in gowns taking quinciñera pics and another group with a woman in a gown.
We enjoyed having a picnic by the pond near the Museum of Science and Industry. We found a quiet and clean little spot.
I gave this a three however because there were so much trash around the parking areas even though garbage bins are everywhere.
Ronnie Cassidy
Science and industry is always fun and learning experience
Christina Lynn Calhoun (Tina)
The exhibits are very good and interesting
Atul Bachhav (ATLEE)
Great park with great views and clean with such a beautiful Greenland...

The museum is great, and surprisingly clean, well organized, and one of the top museums in the country. Museum of science and industry is my favorite.

Really good place for a family. It is better to know English. Very interesting and exciting. The train, the tornado, flight simulators are outdated a little but still ok. Good place for coming with your family for entire day. Food is very expensive but quality is ok for this kind of place. Always something to find for everyone in the family
Walt
Went to MSI on MLK day. It was a Illinois resident free day so that was an added bene. Parking was $20, a few of the interactive exhibits cost a few dollars more but well worth it. The fighter plane and space ride were very cool. If you want to do 1, space ride was very cool. The entire trip brought me back to childhood. I hadnt been there in 30 years. Fun time.
Nancy
Very nice walk in Chicago. Lots of wildflowers first of June. Japanese garden was lovely.
David Lane (littleBIG)
A beautiful Oasis at the intersection of the city and the lake
Dave McCoy
A historic spot across the street from Cafe Du Monde to enjoy your Cafe Au Leit and Beignette.
Debra Harris
Always enjoyment and relaxation when on that side of the town. Fun Fun and more Fun
Carter Richter
Amazing park loved all the worlds fair history.
Len Feil
Lived her for 50 years, have driven to The Museum of Science and Industry probably 20 times. This was the first time I explored the Park and was treated to the view of the famous statue! Every Chicago resident should realize the beauty of this Park!
Sandra Contrerarty
Went for Hanami or Cherry blooms blossom watching this end of the week. The climate being no sweater climate was the Cherry on the cake. Partaken in the little walk. Halted to take huge loads of pics.( Some trees were more famous with those touristy people so stayed away from them) One may get simply one more end of the week to watch these marvels before they tumble down . Past weekend would have had the best sprouts see yet the hopeless , blustery day made me stay in. Do pause and go through a second with the wild blossoms on the path as well. Extremely remedial.
Georgia Parker
I've been going here since I was a child n I've taken 3 generation's here as well. It's a Family tradition.
Gregg R. Wright
The museum of science and industry never disappoints I have been going there for over 50 years!
Rachel Ramirez
Went for Science and Industry Museum. Always a great time. Let's be honest it's my favorite place!
mario rodriguez

Mohamad Ali El Zein

Garrett Massey
Beautifully maintained park with a Japanese garden. Nice walk after a visit to the Museum of Science and Industry
Chris “Lucky” Richard
The Cherry Blossoms were fantastic!!! Oh, such an experience. Thank you!
Gaby Cantero
Super entertaining, for everyone. A lot of things to see, go with time
Amon Novara
Just a very dangerous part of the city. I love Chicago as a whole. This is just one of its worst sides. Just being honest
Jadalyn Maestre
My sister's dogs love it, love the dog community every dog there was so nice and even the people. The structure and the materials are so cool you wouldn't even think that it would be possible and it's just really cool. I loved it.
T J
The tee boxes were honestly kinda terrible. Like they just ran out of room and shoved the blue tees wherever they could fit them. Some long par 5's which are fun, but just don't miss right we will definitely hit some traffic. Decent course layout overall but pretty pricey for what you get.
Ria Perez
This is probably my favorite park in Chicago, I love sitting behind MSI and looking at the gorgeous Columbia Basin or walking through the Garden of the Phoenix. Absolutely phenomenal park (and rather large, always plenty to see and explore). Beautiful at all hours of the day!
Kristen M Rees
I loved the museum of science and industry. So many wonderful exhibits. I'd love to go back with some little kids someday. I thoroughly enjoyed the U-505 exhibit. Amazing. I do wish they would have kept it a little more original and not fixed the whole thing up so nicely. The park across the street is nice as well. Plenty of beautiful grass for activities. Probably the highlight of my Chicago trip.
james boglioli
Went here on a trip and it was great. The exhibits are entertaining for all ages, the park outside was wonderful. No complaints. Was a little cold the day I was there, but that is normal. What a great experience in the Windy City!
John Kim
Beautiful place for a jog or walk
Cathy Pitts
Big wonderful park. We rented bikes over there to ride to the lake front. Never again I suck at riding. If you seen the episode of Frasier where he learns to ride a bike. That was me I kept going in to the bushes it was horrible. But the park was great
Shamaryaho1
Four stars long story short it's not managed right ,they added eye sores weeds use to be much better they even ticket like crazy in this area

My dog absolutely loves coming here, they've got 2 separate sides. One for large dogs and another for small dogs. Plenty of toys and a small dog pool.
James Posey
My favorite hang out for the summer & the food is the bomb,
Rohit Kumar Gupta
A great historic Chicago park. A wonderful sculpture piece by Yoko Ono makes its home there.
Mike Greenstone
Museum of science and industry - not much else to do.
Orlando Rodriguez (Oso Blanko)
This is the very spot that the 1920s Chicago world's Fair was held it's historical amazing and still beautiful to this day and the museum itself is still one of the most incredible places I can imagine visiting at any age but it is nothing less than magical for a child.
Iris Rico
Amazingly beautiful scenery ♥️
Thomas McDaniel
Toured the parks and the surrounding areas from Lake Shore Drive to State Street, and 51st Street to Marquette Rd, including The Museum of Science and Industry. What's your thing? You can find it within these boundaries! Great outdoor space, especially the closer you get to Lake Shore.
Chris Weber
This is a historic park. Books have been written about things that have happened here. I recommend reading Devil in the White City while sitting next to the pond and looking north at the skyline. The Science and Industry Museum is fantastic!
Amaia
cherry tree festival was so cute <3
Manieshia Hampton
Each year we visit Jackson Park for the annual House Music Picnic! It’s always amazing! This is my third year attending and I’ll attend next year. It’s always crowded but when it’s a good crowd who cares! You can expect, fantastic house music, Great food venues with reasonable prices, sanitation stations and welcoming families grilling the best bbq you’ll ever taste! You can purchase a tent area for your family or arrive with your cooler and still have a phenomenal experience. We recommend a ride share or purchasing a parking pass in advance because of the congestion. No matter how you arrive, you’ll leave happy and likely with a few less pounds from all the dancing.... though the great few may balance it out!!! Enjoy Jackson and House Music Picnic, it’s a great event and great venue!
Christian Salvador
Beautiful museum. Remember there is a huge parking garage, don't park on east side of museum. Will cost you 20
Laurick Harris
Y'all, can you say summer is here.oh this the hangout.when the beach is closed off.everybody Parks up and down the street.Good summer vibes. You would think a concert was going on somewhere all the people just enjoying hanging out. It feels good just to get out, park, put music 🎶 on , bring cold water on those hot summer nights and be around others whether you're alone or you decide to bring people with you.good idea, Walmart got some $6to7dollar folding chairs you can get .My teenager and friends like to use them when they're walking around and find a location to chill.walmart also have better brand chairs for a little more money under$20and$15dollars.Enjoy your summer before it's gone 🏖️🙂
Mary Gignac
Japanese Garden was nice surprise. Enjoyed cherry blossoms and different view of Museum of Science and Industry. Hard too navigate area - one bridge closed.
kathy Herlihy
Had brunch at yatch club was wonderful
DJ Ell Ess
Great place to visit. If you haven't then you are certainly missing out on an opportunity to experience a hidden south side gem. Be sure to see the garden of Phoenix and the Pagoda
G. LakeCounty
MOSI Chicago. Great Marvel exhibit.
Benjamin Elrod
Fantastic finish for the CARA 20 miler!
PJ L
I play golf here often. I can't say I come here for any other reason. But from what I've seen I like. There's lots of cool World's Fair history around too if you look into it. When it rains it's a disaster and there's puddles everywhere. It could definitely be cleaned up. But for golfing, it's all good.
Virgil Schwake
We visited a few parks and enjoyed them all. Chicago has been doing a good job keeping their parks cleaned and well maintained. No complaints here.
Anthony Lopez
Amazing park! The museum of science and industry is an amazing place to visit but even if you don’t want to go to the museum the park is amazing. Definitely should be on your to do list if your in Chicago!
Adam Podraza
Best park in the city. Jackson Park is a real underrated gem.
The museum of science and industry is visible to the north of the lagoon.
Quick walk to the lake front.
Really feels like you're in the wilderness with many walking paths.
Also, the Japanese garden is a must visit. This is easily one of the top three free places to visit in the city.
Meep Ramsay (Otan Empire)
Large park with a multitude of things to do
CARL STCLAIR
Awesome place, nice to see the Pioneer Zephyr and the model railroad layout.
Zonice Alexander
What can you say other than I love anything near the lake.
Joe Cannon
Jackson Park is nice, clean and safe. In the winter there is very little foot traffic. I always walk my dog there. We go on a 4-6 mile round trip and very rarely see any other pedestrians.
Aaron Levine
So pretty...the Japanese garden is especially awesome!
B
Always get a piece of mind here and enjoy the scenery
Shirley Mitchell
We took lawn chairs, food and water and set up by the lake. My friends fished and I just enjoyed the view, the atmosphere and the cool breeze that was circulating.
Very relaxing and peaceful
Tatiana Mack-Sanders
Loved the Garden of the Phoenix would have loved to have our ceremony here but the party is too big lol!! Still a gorgeous peaceful escape.
Lana Vega
It was amazing as always. We went on free day and it wasn't busy at all. It was great!
Kathleen M
Was not happy because we had a large group that was supposed to have 6 man rafts, we should have even had 2 extra that we paid for but no one used. Several of our group ended up with 5 people in a 4 man raft! Very disappointing and may not ever go back. It gets a 3 for the nice cabin but no towels or linens or kitchen utensils. Overall just okay
Karl Strozier
Beautiful park for kids to play in. After walking around the museum our niece wanted to run around. So we just took her here right across the street. Very scenic area to enjoy good weather.
Marsha Pare
The Museum of Science and Industry is house here. Snowed today...brrrrr
Ana Marie Collins
Great peaceful park that's right by the lake with open space and plenty of areas to walk.
Maurice Sykes
A lot of confusion with construction but chosen few event was great!
Rich Thomas
Less a review of the park and more to the museum. So much to do and so little time. The museum of science and industry has something for kids of all ages. Mirror maze was a blast, wish that some of the exhibits were included in admission cost but the free exhibits are great none the less. Make sure to check out the toymaker and score yourself a $5 gyrotop and watch machine assemble it.
Bella Rana
It's pretty much just a grassy, park area! Not much in terms of park benches or playgrounds or anything, but it's nice for jogging, walks, or picnics. Watch out for the goose poop, though!
Charlie Hasbun
Love everything about this area but the need food or snack area
Kevin Graham
My fiancee suggested this place, we listened and we'd loved it! You definetly have to do the submarine tour! All in all it's kind of pricey, but still worth it for a day of fun (especially if you need a day out of the heat).
Sonia Nava
Really beautiful place it's really nice I love flowers I go back again.n again!!!!!
Arlene Sadcopen
A hidden gem in the south part of Lake shore. A area where families or groups have picnics, events and gatherings. It is within the museum of science and industry campus. I like the trails, they are well shaded and the garden is a nice place for nature photography or pictorials.
Nomado Alvarez
Very interesting museum. Also have a lot of interactive learning experiences.
Willie Midgett
Walk was therapeutic for me. Very beautiful scenic beach view near the park. I felt better the further I walked. Good job walk organizers and sponsors. Many people walked route more than once.!!
Neeraj Sharma
Loved it
Chris Nash
Nice to visit when the sun is shining.
ronald dean jr
Wonderful atmosphere to have family and friend events
Jeff Winn
We were there last year primarily to see the touring Pixar exhibit (and that was excellent) but what we did see of the museum itself was very cool and educational. I particularly enjoyed the weather exhibit and all of the interactive things you can do.
w. liang
Natural place, historic statues and architectures.
Daniel Davis
Nice place ez to get to ,assom people around
Helena Zhang
Beautiful nature park and nice Japanese garden. Parking is convenient but needs to pay.
Christopher Fontenot
Great view and experience to see and touch any part of Lake Michigan.
James Kelly
Been going here since I have been a kid enjoy the Christmas Trees around the world event every year. Also where else can you tour a captured World War II German Submarine. Just wish they had more free days as the entry price has really gone up over the years. If you have children that are older then toddler age this is a must.
Alpha Bruton
Such a wonderful jewel on the Southside of Chicago. We went to the Oriental Garden for a late afternoon picnic. It was so peaceful a surene atmosphere. I'm definitely going back to listen to the waterfalls in the Spring. Ideal for a photoshoot too.
sakya 17
Beautiful park. Spacious and some eye-catching backgrounds for photographers.
Rauselle Tigue L Sr.
Myself and a friend went to the harbor boat clubhouse on a Tuesday evening, there we enjoyed the ambiance of fresh air and enjoyed the sights of boats gathering there. The crowd of people assembled there were ages between 40 - 65. Perfectly matched for nonviolent activities.
Oh, did I mention, among the hosts are retired police officers.
This venue provided music that reminisced BEAUTIFUL and timeless stepping song's.
Strictly for steppers. The harbor is located on 57th st and lake shore drive. The admission price is $ 4 dollars. Bring your own lawn chairs and beverages. Come on down on Tuesdays . hours are 6:00-11:00 pm.
Marek Konieczny
Kids had fun and it's right next to the museum of science and industry!
Yefim Besterman
Place where Chicago world exhibition took place. To understand what you're seeing, read the history of hire a good guide. Set did and enjoyed it a lot
B E
I have had several experiences with this park, all of them being lovely. On a hungover Saturday afternoon some friends and I were looking for a place to throw disc and we were not disappointed. There was plenty of open space as well as people enjoying their day as well. After we had tired ourselves out we took a walk to the island. On the way we were pleasantly surprised to find working water fountains. The island itself was nice, and the Japanese Garden was gorgeous.
PerlaJasel Castro Castro
Nice park right by the museum beautiful scene in the summer time.
Jordan Pandy
I'm going to start off by saying it was $45.00 for two people, but I ask my wife so went, very big, bigger than what I expected, but to be honest it's every thing I expected for my first real museum experience, alot to see, alot of walking, exhibits, did not get a chance to see it all , u have to go before 1:00 pm to experience the whole thing, sooo!!! $45.00 let's just say it's ( a nice date ) worth taking
Chen Jin
Didn't realize there is a such a nice beach at the end of the lakeshore drive. The beach complex is unique. Close to the University of Chicago and the museum of industry and science.
Michael Jackson
I've been coming to the 63rd Street Beach since my childhood. It's been regentrified but it is still cultural.
Jeri
Now I can honestly tell you I've only walked around a little bit with my cousin once; so I'm not sure how safe it is on foot. BUT my cousin lives across the street on the 20th floor and the view in the daytime is AWESOME!!! p.s. the night view with all the lights is pretty spectacular too 😉 …
Patrick Hartge
This is a pretty great place, it's open all hours and has plenty for your dog to do and play with. There are tennis courts nearby and a clean water source so you can keep your pup hydrated.
Google maps takes you directly to it but,
I took a star off because it's sort of confusing to drive up to, and the road leading to it is VERY rough. My car sits about a foot off the ground, but if yours is less or low at all you might bottom out.
Linda Lazard
I was visiting Chicago the beach ⛱️ was great the sun was shining had a wonderful day with friends.
Alonzo Smith
I love this and most parks in Chicago. These parks sit right in the middle of very diverse neighborhood. This is a hidden gem in Chicago and I wish more people would take advantage of these beautiful spaces!
Peggy Ridgway
There is never enough time to see everything.
Calico Jack
Didn't get to explore most of what Jackson Park had to offer, which looked very impressive, but I did manage to make it to the Museum of Science and Industry.
It was similar to what is now called the Fleet Science Center here in San Diego in that it's not simply a series of exhibits to look at, but is also pretty hands on.
It's an experiential museum where you can play with all sorts of fun yet educational exhibits to really get you into learning some of what we know about, for example, plate tectonics and lightening.
Bring the kids and expect to be a kid yourself with all the awe you had when you were learning about the world around you via play and some good narration with it.
Jessica Elijah
Our family had a great time. Sad that some exhibits are closed but overall Marvel was a great exhibit for all ages.
Richard Bell
Large park with only paid parking.
Open grilling allowed.
Jennifer Morales
Yo man just pick up after urself its not hard to put trash in a bag and not let it go to the lake its 2021 we've come a pretty long way to just keep doing what our grandparents did in they're prime time...
Vamsi Krishna
Specially for the best cherry blossom 🌸 in April no need to go to Washington DC Chicago has everything that's the answer …
Alan Jiménez
Fantastic
Jeremy Kane
Pretty good place and yes Clea er than used to be and it is nice esp. In the summer for kids picnics pets and the like. Or I think you can still do like grilling and stuff, esp. Around 4th or July etcc. Good times.
Jimbo R.
Went to the Museum of Science and Industry in Jackson Park. It was members night and we had a great time. My grandson is only six years old and he enjoyed every minute. Especially the DNA exhibit and the demonstration they did!
Michael
Alike the museum campus, beautiful landscaping with fountains, butterflies flowers, and art sculptures. Many concrete sidewalks with vendors near major attractions for food and drink.
Kate Miller
I love Jackson Bark, the dog park within Jackson park. This completely enclosed and community run ( it's actually organized by one main person but we like to say we help) has toys, segregation areas, safe three gate entry and exit, agility courses, water and poop scoop. There is often art and a community spirit prevails with friendly Hans and dogs.
beautiful world
Very nice park!
LaJoyce Green
This area of the park was absolutely beautiful! Nice spot for a gathering or just to get away to watch the boats & water.
Megan Malone
Jackson Park is a quiet and beautiful place to explore. There are remnants of the 1893 Columbian Exposition, sculptures, and the wooded island trails are a wonderful escape from the city streets.
Marcus Bridgeforth
Beach front park very peaceful.
rubi diaz
My son loved it we loved it 💙 …
Derrel Hooten (Beeperderrel)
Was out looking at the proposed site of the Obama's library and saw this View and all the beautiful surroundings can't wait for the construction to be completed so I can tour this area again
curtis gilmore
Visited dog park called Jackson Bark. Great place to let your dog run and play.
Darlene Stavas
I am visiting the Chicago area and visiting my daughter for the holidays. I am from Pennsylvania. We went to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry at this location. It was wonderful
Brandy Scott
I love riding my bike here. Beautiful paths and wonderful gardens hidden inside this park. It's huge to bike around and has the best dog park around Jackson bark🐶 …
Karla Rowe
Visited for an outdoor music festival! Lovely! No portapottys unfortunately, gorgeous scenery & lively venue setting nonetheless 👍🏼 …
Joyce D.
Great lakefront community of historical significance. Known for it's beautiful parks, museums, golf courses and marinas, it inspires diversity. This community is experiencing regentrification primarily sparked by the upcoming and eagerly awaited Obama Presidential Library. I recently attended a lovely baby shower at the Southern Shore Yacht Club. While the temperature was on the cool side, the sunny day sparked anticipation for the beautiful summer days to come at this remarkable private club...
Reginald Caldwell
Loved it, black folks parlaying in harmony doesn't get better. There is tents with food and trinkets for sale and it's a short walk to the beach front across LSD.
Ziziol Zak
Lots of good things to do. Between the Japanese garden, the Columbus basin and the statue of the republic, this park is a must visit whenever you are in the area.
Curtis Thames
This was one of the resting spots on BIKE THE DRIVE 2022!
Evgeny Kolev
Interesting park. Tons of improvements for the 15 years since we visited it first.
The home of the Phoenix garden. The latter aside - the park needs to fix its parkings. The one on the South end - worst potholes ever. Worse - the parking meters never work, so I never know if I will find a ticket when I come back or not.
Also not sure why the path to the other parking (behind the museum is gated and locked).
Lucrisha McAllister
Great , nice and clean " meeting rooms for rent.
paul pizzo
A nice park with good views and lovely trees
Matthew Ulm
Nice golf course for a public one. Does get full, so head out in the early morning if you can. They stack up the groups pretty close to each other, so you have to keep a decent pace.
Shay Gentry
Took a walk it was a nice and peaceful with a splash of relaxation
Dani W.
Peaceful park tucked away in the Jackson Park area. Take the path to the Japanese Garden and be pleasantly surprised to see this little known gem in the heart of the park.
Jacqueline Jackson
Beautiful course , great outing and food was awesome
jason ortez
Beautiful park. Highly recommended.

MSI, has always been an enjoyable experience. Today was no different,
I went to the MARVEL attraction, thoroughly impressed!
tl Stew
Very nice. I watched the boaters practice before heading out for an afternoon on Lake Michigan, listened to music, and purchased items from local vendors.
Katrina Whitlow
Absolutely fantastic dog park - size of 2 full tennis courts and fully fenced with lots of toys and equipment for the dogs to play on or practice agility training. People there are very friendly!
David W. Miller
Jackson Park is definitely another one of the gems of the south side. With numerous bike paths jogging paths Lakefront access lagoons and green spaces, it's a great place for so many activities. It's also absolutely enormous. One very important downside is that the pads are not always in fantastic condition, and the walkway from Cornell Avenue to the lakefront on the Northside of Jackson Park just south of the Museum of Science and Industry, is under construction.
glenda johnson
This exhibit was great, everything was organized except for the parking. It was stated that the price would be $9.00 and was charged $22.00.
Barry Elmore
Lots to do and see. A beautiful lagoon with the Museum of Science and Industry as a backdrop, the wooded island with the Japanese Garden, whose reconstruction was paid for by Yoko Ono. There is a golf course, 63rd Street Beach, basketball courts, tennis courts and plenty open green spaces.
Melvin Appleby
Family has been coming here for 3 generations many memories and hopefully we can continue to enjoy ourselves here.
Oskii
Great course. 4pm limit for cart rental ia stupid.
Carrie Gareave
The was the site of the historic worlds fair, in which Frederick Douglas & Ida b Wells gave speeches promoting citizenship for americans born into slavery. Thats a big deal. I feel honored to set my gaze upon such a historic location.
Jenn
Jackson Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Chicago. It's so expansive, filled with marshes & beautiful greenery. Additionally, there's a driving range & a gorgeous golf course. I love it & hate that Obama's library will bring traffic & visitors to disrupt the serenity.
Katie Schroeder
Marvel exhibit was great! A little bummed that most interactive things are still closed. But I love MSI
Deb Wesley -YTF
Attended the Chosen Few DJ's Picnic, Chicago Illinois... House Music All Day Long... July 1st 2017
Sabrina “Bri” Siggers
My visit at this park was pretty peaceful. Met some pretty pleasant people. Made a new friend. Had a great time. Made me miss Chicago. I almost wanted to move back.
Alka Kolipakam
Awesome park, so huge! A beautiful Japanese Garden is hidden here between the two natural lagoons where you can see birds in their natural habitat.
Cedric McCay
This is a large and meandering park, which hugs the lakefront at one point and leaps into the heart of the urban city at another. There is a bird sanctuary, a track and football field, golfing and tennis, and lots and lots space to walk and enjoy nature.
I McCormick
My husband and I had the greatest time at The Chosen Few Picnic! There were no incidents or overly drunk people. Even security was chill and didn't over do their jobs. The only downside was all the food vendors only took cash. So I was hungry and salty the whole time. Who doesn't take cards these days?
Isaiah Wilson
Very quiet green spot near the magnificent mile. Good photo opportunities with the landscape and historical architecture in the park. Lots of seating for picniks and study.
Lynn Watkins
Visited Dusable Museum in Jackson Park. Beautiful in the winter too!
Mystic Butterfly
I've been going here forever, back when it was called the Japanese garden. They have added some beautiful additions, very serene.
Chrystal Lee
This is a lovely spot next to the Rabidia Children's Hospital across from the Golf course and next to the Lake on Marquette and Lake Shore Drive. I stopped to watch the sail boats and kayakers in the harbor for a peaceful moment on a clear and lovely August day.
Pamela Hendricks
I didn't go to I but I did walk past it. There were a band going through it and they were wearing all white and carrying umbrellas. They were playing an Earth Wind & Fire song. I forgot the tune but it was hot.
Sampath Jayasekar
Well maintained garden.
Kimberley “MissKim7” Pipkin
Nothing stays the same its a new place altogether. Hadn't been there in 30 plus years. I enjoyed the Museum.
Karen h
I was there for a jv high school football game. As the regular field is torn up for the Obama library, the game was played on a large grassy area. Aside from a few divots from soccer, it wasn't too bad. Street parking.
Carolyn Bernicky
Decent for an old gym. Plenty of space. Clean for the most part. Parking leaves a lot to be desired. If there is a function there be sure to get there early.
Jeff Mier
Great place for the family but bring the big money. I haven't been there in a few years but they continue to update and bring in new stuff all the time.. keep it up...
Sancho P.
Went for the Marvel exhibit. It was an awesome exhibit. A lot of tie ins that can be used in the classroom... especially in history and SEL.
Theresa Miller
This park could be cleaned up considerably. Museum of Science is easily accessible by the park. Not worth walking around too much. Sketchy park to walk if you're alone.
Jazan Northrop
Great place to let the puppies play.
Reko Warren
Nice place of space to visit with family or friends, to take pictures and make memories. A good place to go and think in peace. Very clean place at times, but can use a lil more work in the upkeep
Fred Chubin
Great spot to park next to the Science & Industry Museum in Chicago
Matt Thompkins
It was fun walking around and my fiancee found a pokemon go spot so she had fun. It was peaceful.
Sha Rahman
Nice place to enjoy cool breeze especially in late afternoon. Can see many couples n families with kids around picnicking. Parking is free.
Vaughnj TheChameleon
Great Park which also offers a golf course, and parking near by. Has great summer events and easy to Access by public transportation as well. Yiu can also get a park permit to gave your own events
Bryce Burse
Great place to visit in a nice day.
eD Dixon
Family friendly, easy commute from the Loop. Picnic area, bike trails, walking to trails, site for new Obama Center in the future. Golf course is public , cheap, and decent now. Right on the lake.
Karina Muriel
Nice place to chill and have a cocktail 🍹 and be alone, but there many couples there, so it's best to come with your boo …
Ren G
Beautiful view of the river!
Kevin Murray
Always enjoy the MSI, had high expectations for the Marvel exhibit... And yet again MSI exceeded them
Lisa Wahl
We just happened to find this park. It was beautiful with lots of trails for walking, running and biking. The lake was beautiful too.
MILA` 《BARZ》
What happened to the acorns love this place
Gerald Foster
Osaka Garden is by far the best part of Jackson Park. Had a shoot there on Saturday and it was fabulous. Holla if you need a photographer.
Tom Nicpon
Jackson Park is a beautiful place.
Ray Brown
Very pleasant park. We pulled off when traveling through the area and appreciated the opportunity to relax in the park for a few minutes.
Danny Edward's
A wonderful area in the Town anyone can go relax and hang out. Cool place l love it.
DENNIS JOHN
Oasis in Chicago south side. Nearby University of Chicago neighborhood campus. Plethora of facilities. Golfing, basketball, Driving range, Lawn bowling, Boat marina, Soccer fields, Football. Tennis courts not in service. Japanese garden & bird watching park.
Greenery is refreshing and exhuberant. Beaches nearby at 57th and 63rd Streets with field houses and food stands
Trenette Monty
Beautiful park to go to whenever you need to get away for a walk and clear your mind
MiChelle M
Just passed thru. Was a very beautiful area.
Leslie Bell
Chicago has to do better with this park. It is beautiful and has so much potential, but the few people who don't respect the park rules ruin it for everyone. Having a cookout or party in the park and leaving litter, "cruising", and crumbling...everything detract from the beauty of the park. I play beach volleyball at 63rd in the summertime, and all the broken glass and litter in the sand makes it so hard to have a worry-free good time. I hope the new U of C school brings positive change to the park.

Went to park to think things over. Read my mail, texts. Mailed letters and went to grocery store afterwards. Saw women in parking lot that were pretty but slightly over weight talking to man in expensive Mercedes. One of the women I think was his girlfriend

Plenty of gardens, they take good care of them. Museum of Industry and Science is the Jewel of the Crown at Jackson Park.
The place is served by several bus routes, so it's easy to get there.

Visit the spot on a tour never knew this existed in Chicago I don't venture on the Southside that much however the statue is significant to the fac of years ago that marked the first World's Fair held statue States the Republicfamous gift from the People of France to commemorate the centennial of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

There is a nice walkway and you can expect a local market on the east side of the park. The main attractions are the Farm in the zoo (there were dozens of mothers with young children when we visited!) and the zoo.
Kelli Dudley
This was a favorite walking area of my dog; he would like knowing Jackson Bark dog park is now there. Beautiful walking area around Japanese Gardens. The area has become more difficult to visit since Mayor 1 Percent made every space metered parking.

An All-Time Favorite of mine!

Beautiful area to hang out, or for a walk...maybe a weekday instead of a weekend, if you prefer less crowded

I have ran the Chicago Half Marathon, which starts in Jackson Park, for the past two years. It is a nice park, but incredibly difficult to via public transportation. The best way to get there is by bike via Lake Shore Trail. The best part about Jackson Park is the Museum of Science and Industry. Otherwise, many areas of the park look like a work-in-progress.

Jackson Park is probably my new favorite park! They've got a beautiful lagoon complete with an island and trails, and even a Japanese garden! You'll feel like you're miles away even though you're in the middle of Chicago. Plus, they've got a great view of the Museum of Science and Industry and 63rd Street beach (which I didn't visit because I visited in early spring). And if you're into history you'll be interested in knowing that this is where the World's Columbian Exposition was held in 1893! And you know what's even better? You don't even need a car to get there since the Metra Electric serves Jackson Park from the 59th Street and 63rd Street stops! But if you do choose to drive, it's right off of Lake Shore and only a couple of miles from the Dan Ryan and the Skyway (via 63rd Street and Stony Island Avenue respectively)! And yes, it is family friendly!

Great place to just hang out and ride bikes, nature trails or just take a walk. There's soccer games, cyclists and dog walkers to watch. Something different from the North Side.

I can't wait to permanently move back to my beloved city.

Actually part of the Museum of Science and Industry. The park surrounds the museum, and parts have been developed for museum exhibit space, most notably the U505 submarine exhibit - which you should definitely visit while enjoying the museum!
Diane Dennie
We were at the Museum of Science & Industry visiting the Marvel Exhibit. The children really enjoyed themselves.

Although we didn't get to see the majority of the park, we did go to the Museum. We were in there at least half of the day. Prices aren't bad on tickets for all you get to see.
gerald doriety
The experience was priceless! Not to mention an excellent way to spend with love ones in the heart of the city!

Hardly any flowers and looked real unkept except for the area around the koi pond. I guess I just expected more with it being known as the Japanese flower garden.

I grew up here! My grandfather owned a laundromat on 62nd and Kimbark. My sisters and I went to Jackson Park day camp during the summers. I remember when you could go to the Museum of Science and Industry for free.

Easy to find parking maybe due to covid but nice either way. Very clean and not crowded with homeless like the entire state of California.

It's beautiful here at the children's hospital. Is located right on Lake Michigan where you can look out your window and see the boats and the waves.

Drives itself need some repair but main drawback I didn't see much for rest rooms, pavilions or benches for sitting. Otherwise a nice park
