Haven't camped there in years. But it's always been my favorite place to be. I'll be back soon. No disappointments here.

Nice, clean campground but the pipe for hook up was higher than our valve so we couldn't use it. The bird blind was fun!

Very small campground considering it's next to a big city. Some sites need maintenance badly where the water collects. Good price if you can get a spot which is very, very difficult. No shower. Ranger was very friendly and helpful. Prepare to be inundated with mosquitoes.

Quick stop while traveling on I-35. This campground was a peaceful and quiet. You have to meander about 10 mins off I-35 to get here, but the time is well worth it. No highway noise. Very few campers. Sites are concrete and level with a large patio. Electric available at all sites. No water for us, as we were there in early March. Will stop again. This campground is on my list of places to use while travelling I-35.

Well-kept, pleasant campground, easily accessible. Modern bathrooms but no showers. A tremendous bargain at $17 ($21 if booked online at Reserve America). Sites see generous sized, and include full hookups. Peaceful, yet easy drive to many of the area attractions.

Very nice little park with trails that are manageable for smaller kids. I went out with my 5 and 8 year old and we made bee homes and then checked out the bird blind. We saw about 10 different kinds of birds while sitting there for just 10 minutes, then we hiked back through the loop by the river. The kids enjoyed playing on the playground before we left for the day. I'd definitely recommend! It sounds like they're planning all sorts of fun activities, so keep an eye out

This place is cool
Has cement pad for campers.
Full hook ups in summer.
Winter is electric only with porta potty..
Sad part is 14 days and you have to be gone 16 days before you are allowed back.
It's away from the city to be relaxing but You are only minutes away from hwys and downtown.

Would give 5 however water doesn't come on until April 15th. DNR Officer is accommodating. Children's playground -firewood $5 per bundle. Water is back within it's banks. Port o Potty until April 15th, when restroom buildings open. Reservations are made through Reservation America. All site's have electric hook up only $11. per night. Also -full hook up available. Very enjoyable & comfortable whether a newbie to outdoor living or experienced!🤗😁😊😋😎

Clean and quit.

Some sites have been updated to full hookups. They need to make the rest of the sites that way. Overall a great campground right in town

I stayed here at Walnut Woods it's a beautiful little Campground accept the mosquitoes are horrible when it gets hot it was close enough to do to Des Moines that it was not a long drive that I actually had visitors come out and visit me at the campground
