Reviews of Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre
Jacation Adventure
This review is strictly from a hiking and outdoors perspective, not from a music perspective. We absolutely love this park, the hiking trails are nice and well maintained. The area is absolutely spectacular with not just the amphitheater, and surrounding area. The Red Rocks Amphitheater is also amazing, you have to climb the stairs at least once, it is harder than it looks. The trading post is also worth a stop. If you see one thing, explore the amphitheater. If you have more time try out some of the hiking trails for a more in depth and serene activity. Visiting after snow is also an amazing experience.

I’m not much of a concert goer, but coming here literally had me in tears it’s so beautiful. You can come in for free when no concerts or events are happening and we got lucky enough to come in on a beautiful day when the concert that evening was doing a free run through and got to experience the magnificence of this amphitheater.
All I can say is, it was borderline life changing. I will go back to a formal event here and I don’t know if any other performance venue can ever compete with this place.
Also, lots of great trails around that are amazing as well. A must see!
Ben Dewolff
Wow what a location. It's now on my bucket list of places to see a concert. With stunning views and fantastic trails for hiking. Really enjoyed watching the people exercising at the amphitheater. This place has had the the who's who in music play to the masses. Can't wait to go back.
Traci Ratzlaff
First concert at this venue and I was absolutely blown away. The beauty of the sun rising over Denver in the background, the way the music carried through the rocks, the energy of the crowd…it was all spectacular. Food, beverages and bathrooms were all on point. Be sure you’re prepared to climb steps to get from the parking lot to the venue and again to your seats…we forgot a blanket, so remember to bring one for fall shows, it was pretty cold once the sunset. Overall an amazing experience and we’ll be back.
Erin Weinzierl
Such a great experience. The Red Rocks look like they were just put there. Lots of walking...pretty good hike to get your steps in for sure. It is all outdoors. You want to enter from the top and go down to your seats. Most of it is Gen admission so come early to get seats. Good sound from anywhere in there. Dress for the weather and be prepared for change in weather. I would come back.
Hasina Barlett
This place was truly a sight to see. There is a trail around the Amphitheater that you can walk and there is also a Music Hall of Fame as well as gift shop. If you’re lucky enough to see a concert here you will be blown away with how magical and beautiful it is. The view from the stage into the stands is breathtaking as well as looking down onto the stage from the stands. This was definitely a magical weekend full of memories.

This place is worth the hype! It's quite a trek to the top if you're not used to the altitude, buy its worth it for the views. While we were there, a performer was playing in the small stage and it was kind of surreal to hear her play in that space.
The amphitheater itself is amazing, but the red rocks around it are awesome inspiring. There's nothing like that east of the Mississippi. I can't wait to explore more of the west!
Brayden Ainzuain
My favorite music venue in the entire world. The sound system is great and you’ll get a fantastic experience regardless of the seats you get. The amphitheater is gorgeous and you feel in nature while listening to a concert. It’s truly magical!
Tips:
- In the months of September and throughout fall and winter it gets chilly so bring a blanket and a heavier sweatshirt
- You can bring a cushion if you’ll be there for long because you’ll be sitting on the rocks
- Regardless if your seats, have the car drive you all the way up so that you don’t have to climb to the top
- My favorite area to relax before and during the events are on the top. They have plenty of food, seating, and drinks. The views are amazing!

Great place for site seeing. Nature is beautiful! I would love to see a concert here! I've visited here in the Spring and Winter. Best to visit in the Spring because the wind takes the cold to another level in the winter. However still check it out in the Winter if that's the only time you've got. Beautiful!
TheLeakingGenius
Ah yes, the most spectacular amphitheater of them all. What is there to say besides stunning and beautiful views in every direction. Where else would you want to attend a live music event after you go here. Ruins everything else in the future, but that's life I guess. Come here concert or no concert it is a sight to behold!
Bill Hutchinson
The music envelopes your whole being...the only place to enjoy a concert...WOW! BE READY FOR LOTS OF STEPS. Spend a little for the reserved section in the 40s...worth the complete view. Come in at entrance 2 and when you see amphitheater and steps on right, park and tailgate. Easy in and out. Get there about 3 hours prior to get best parking and enjoy. If you want to visit museum then plan for more time!
Yvette Domke
Absolutely amazing venue! Breathtaking view driving in. Acoustics were the best. Holds ~9500 people. Seats are bench style without backs. Be prepared for a hike from the parking lot to the stadium entrance and if you can plan your entrance based on your seats so you don't have to walk up so many steps. You can bring snacks and water in the venue with a soft sided cooler, but alcohol must be purchased inside. Because the venue is surrounded by a ridge and there are so many people it is warmer inside than out so dress in layers. Also know the stage is completely covered so they perform rain or snow. Bathrooms were easy to get to with no line problems. Bucket lister for sure!! Loved it!!
MURAT T. IPEK
Visited for less than an hour on our way to winter park from Denver. Super easy access. Offers free parking and free entrance to the venue. We visited on a Friday afternoon in mid June and it wasn’t crowded at all. There was a group of people practicing karate on which was fun to watch. The view from balcony/deck was amazing. I can’t imagine how cool would be attending a concert here on a breezy summer night. We couldn’t run the stairs yet but if you’re there and have time, just run the stairs and complete the tradition 😊
T T
A must see! The beauty cannot be seen in photos. Impossible to recreate the height and color of the rock walls and formations. The theater itself is cool but the red rocks in the area are magnificent. I will be back to an event here for sure. We were here when an event was setting up. Hard working individuals and quite interesting to watch. There is a sign here, 40 calories burned if doing the steps from bottom to top……. Don’t miss the visitors center. Lots of music history and things to see!
Amber Z
Super amazing amphitheater! We were staying in Denver and took the 25 min drive to visit here. Definitely worth it. We were on the fence about going because we did not know the artist performing but it was well worth it. Also, the museum they had was cool to see. This is a must do if you’re going to be in the area.
Sari
Nice spot for a short trip! Even without music a “must-see” when in Denver! Red Rocks Rock! Amazing views from top. You can walk around everywhere and stand on the stage and sing if you like and people will allow. So, it’s fun!
jeff “El jefe” Reyes
This was my first time in Denver Colorado. Everyone recommended this place and I will be the first to say... It was worth the visit! Such a beautiful scenery. No photo will do justice of the actual views you see in person, the views are so beautiful. Words can't even describe it completely! Highly recommend anyone to swing by and make a stop here while in Denver. Kid friendly place
Dorian ILioi
Great place for a hike. If you want to see the theater you have to show up before 1pm most days and everyday there is a show. No views of theater if the gates are locked. Theater is beautiful and worth the visit. Restrooms are clean and there are a few restaurants on site.
Tyshawn Jenkins
Great, but you better be in shape because it’s a long walk with Tom’s of steps. The amphitheater is amazing. I can only imagine a large concert here. There is plenty of seating. Bring water because they have an area where you can fill up your bottomless but I didn’t see a place for food. It looks like that is in the works.
barbara brazzale
Best venue! Loved Josh Groban concert. Great handicap seats in row 70, great view of stage and entire area. Wonderful having great access to vendors and close bathrooms. Employees extremely helpful and concerned for all attendees. Took us longer to get there so handicap parking was taken but able to make it all work.
Joshua James
This venue has been on my list to visit for a while. Flew in from Oregon and was not disappointed! I am no concert expert but I go when I can and there is something to be said about bands performing to the venue and red rocks is definitely an awesome experience for the audience and the band. Depending on what parking lot you end up in it is a bit of a hike to get to the show. I would suggest coming about 2 hours before a show and wear shoes not sandals or heals. The experience is just out of this world amazing. I had a closer seat but walked to the top and you can see the Denver city lights and I was lucky enough to be there during a full moon and we had a great view of the moon from the top! 10/10 I'll likely be back with friends.
Brandon Frontz
Obviously the best venue in the world by a landslide. Try to arrive early and the parking lot is always a great place to tail gate. Bands often have VIP packages that I recommend trying, such as watching Incubus on stage. Staff is great, sound is great, and the vibes are always good. They also have good food at the top of the venue. Be careful with young children at certain shows because there will likely be some Colorado smoke (not talking about the wild fires) in the air.
Moses Duran
Probably the best venue to catch a concert at. Really enjoyed the show I got to catch this year. I would recommend you go for an all day event. See you in Red Rocks at night is awesome. I was seated towards the front and the eighth row and the sound was great upfront so I can imagine that the sound in the back was just as good. Definitely a place that I would like to visit again
Mia Ly
Red rock amphitheater:
Very unique and stunning architecture. The stairs and seats are great place to exercise as local people recommended. Surely you will burn lots of calories by taking the steps or walking around the beautiful structure. I would recommend you visiting the museum and reading brief history signs along the ways to learn about the place. You may find some interest facts. Feeling convinced yet to take a trip yourself? If not, here is a bonus fact. This place was the world #1 theater with the number of tickets sold for many consecutive years in the 2010's.
Tracy Sung
We came here for a Head and the Heart concert and the acoustics were absolutely amazing. The organization of getting us to parking and getting us out was also very well done. I don't believe they allow any water in, and they do have security checks, so just make sure to check what is and isn't allowed in. The scenery was absolutely stunning and you could see the city lights of Denver in the background of the rocks, as well as the stars. The only part we didn't particularly enjoy was the way seating was done. Because the seats aren't partitioned individually, you had to squish in with people, especially if the row was full. So we literally were on top of strangers while waiting for the concert to start.
Jacob Tharakan Chacko
Spring summer or autumn, it may look different but winter brings a different feel to the place. It's almost ethereal watching icicles hanging from every possible place. The climb up and down the stairs gets skimmed out as soon as one stands on the stage. It's where legends had performed. The spirit of John Denver is palpable in every inch of the Amphitheatre
Brandi Hazen
Amazing views! Free to walk around and see the venue, we went early in the day and caught a blip of the band warming up for that nights concert. The acoustics are incredible! I recommend the upper drive so you can see the arch. There’s parking near the arch but not much, but we had no issues stopping for a few pics before heading up to the amphitheater! Absolutely incredible sights. A must see while in Denver!
Angel Rodriguez
Amazing! Must see while in Denver, can be a quick 30 min or stay longer. Went mid week around 1pm parked and walked up to theatre - short walk up. Was an event 9-8 so was cool to see them setting up before the event. Free parking and to enter - unless there’s an event
Eric Sheen
I should probably reserve my review until after i have an opportunity to actually hear a performance here. However, based upon just being there to observe and walk around, i have to give it full marks. If course it's beautiful beyond belief. It is also very neat and clean. It has a nice museum detailing past performances, dating back to it's inception, as well as a history of the earth from which is was created, and how that land was created as well. It was a beautiful way to spend my Thursday morning. It also has shipped for souvenirs, beverages, and food. I'd visit it again, and hopefully see a performance there one day.
Jeetendra Kapase
Brilliant thought to create amphitheater in red rocks. We visited during evening and it closes by 6 PM. It’s really beautiful and must visit for an event. I have never seen something like this it’s unique and well built. You need hike and climb 100+ steps.
Ginger Miller
Amazing site to be seen in person. A band was doing a sound check for later that night. We walked the steps to take pictures, went to the gift shop. Did not purchase anything as the prices were ridiculously expensive. $45 for a t-shirt and $30 for a hat!! The museum area was interesting too. Hopefully in the future we can go back for a concert.
Nikki Vasiliadis
This place is pretty awesome. I stopped by during a visit to Denver as I was keen to see it. There was no show unfortunately (definitely a bucket list worthy venue to watch a concert for the future) but there are trails to explore in the area and also run up and down the steps that make up the amphitheater - that’s is a hard slog. The views are pretty spectacular from the top. There is a mini museum that focuses on the geology as well as the various music concerts that have taken place. Worth the visit.
Heather Mires
One of my favorite spots in Colorado! Epic concert venue overlooking Denver. Beautiful park with numerous walking trails that wind between the unique red rocks. Great little museum which highlights some of the most famous colorado musicians. Highly recommend!
Devin Blau
Coworkers and I were in town on a work trip and managed to align with a concert at the famed venue. The hype is real and did not disappoint. The location is breathtaking visually and literally with all the stairs! Still the acoustics and backdrop of the view over Denver behind the stage is second to none. Can't wait to see another show here.
Zain Ul Abdin Siyal
It is a very popular and must-see attraction for tourists because of the beautiful red sandstone rock formations and its historical outdoor amphitheater. It's arguably the most iconic and unique concert venue in the world. Moreover, there is a network of hiking and biking trails, picnic areas, and spectacular views of the surrounding area. One can also see downtown Denver as well because it's only 20 minutes away from the site. The last picture showing downtown Denver was taken while we were in the park.
Puja Modha
An absolutely stunning amphitheatre. I highly recommend doing anything offered here. The steps can be a lot but with breaks it's easy enough to get up to the venue and seats. The view is unforgettable, especially as the sun is setting.
Sarah Janzen
Breath taking! Went in the morning and parking was easy. Nice accessible restrooms. Was so beautiful and glad we made time for it. It was a bummer that the gift shop was so outrageously priced. Would have liked a t-short, but refused to pay $60 for one.
Lydia Manaois
Gorgeous amphitheater, the surrounding trails are beautiful. We only walked down a few of the trails but from what we saw I was very impressed. The amphitheater was decently sized, I would love to go to a concert here. I loved it here, the natural beauty and size of the rock formations here is stunning.
Rocki Stillson
Amazing place with excellent views - open to the public when a show is not scheduled. There is something breathtaking about imagining the men who carved the amphitheater into the rock. Not a perfect place to see a concert, but iconic none the less.
Alan Ritchie
We came to Red Rocks not for a concert but just to explore. The scenery here is beautiful and it was nice getting to explore the amphitheater during the day. There were a lot of people there exercising as it is a great place to walk and do stairs. The visitor center is well maintained and has water refill stations which is convenient since it is attached to the back of the amphitheater.
Emely van der Westhuizen
This is the most spectacular amphitheater i’ve ever visited. You have a stunning and beautiful view in every direction. We will definitely come back and experience a concert out here. Even if there are no concerts going on just walking around and taking in this beauty is well worth the visit.
Chris Hoekstra
A sprouting of Red Rocks in interesting formations merged with an Amphitheater. I can't imagine a better place to go to a concert, then one here. The backdrop of the soaring Red Rocks with the regular mountains in the background is spectacular. I'm guessing they make the sound mesmerizing also. They have a museum on grounds with a history of the location and all of the thousands of bands to have graced this stage. All the greats have played here. There is also a restaurant on site for those who are hungry. If your just in need of some exercise there are lots of trails to explore.
Overall a 5 star review. I hope to return to see a concert here.
Stephanie Williams
Awesome ampitheatre, great acoustics! Two giant monolithic rocks, Ship Rock and Creation Rock, on either side of stage. Neat little museum, gift shop. The venue only takes visa/debit cards, no cash. Quite a steep hike entering the venue as well as inside the amphitheater. From up top, nosebleed section, you are able to view the City of Denver. Watch out for Morrison police and troopers as you leave , they are EVERYWHERE Pulling cars over , getting revenue. I mean EVERYWHERE! Had a great time, i drove from Oregon to experience this venue.
Luba Lowery
Hands down one of my favorite concert venues! It should be on everyone’s bucket list to see a concert here at least once. For an outdoor concert venue, the sound is amazing with beautiful views. Some photos are from section 20 (closer to the stage) and other photos are from higher up. Sound is still good further away from the stage and the views are great! Get here early for parking otherwise you’ll be walking uphill for a bit. It cools off in the evenings pretty quickly; bring warm clothes/layers and you can bring in blankets if needed.
There’s hiking trails around the amphitheater too. What a unique venue to have just within 30 minutes of Denver!
Dee Mo
I had some videos but I don't think you can post videos. Find this place it's a must if you want to see a cool live performance. I missed my chance and all the shows I want to see are in late August I'll be gone. But I highly recommend it! Even just to see in the day time it's pretty spectacular!
Otto Rascon
I've wanted to come here ever since watching U2's performance on DVD (a long time ago). This place is spectacular and a must visit if you're in the area. You can walk around, run, workout out, etc when there isn't a show. We came in the AM on a non-show day. Check the website to make sure they're open.
Nicholas Putz
Such a magical place. I’ve never seen anything like it before. The scenic drive, the mountains, the acoustics of the amphitheater, and especially that one wolf-man dude who runs around like a dog up and down the bleachers and trails. He was definitely a fun local sight to behold.
We will be coming back as We want to experience some of our favorite bands here.
M W
I'm not sure how the venue wouldn't get 5 stars. It's located between 2 giant boulders which helps sound propagation through the venue. The view is immaculate and they attract some of the best acts on a weekly basis that you could ask for. One knock would be that the food could be better for the money. Otherwise come by and enjoy a show!
Catherine Manely
Everything about this place is beautiful. I truly wished I had more time to see it at night and to watch a show. It is a bit of a physical walk but with perseverance you can do it. And well worth it!!! Simply Gorgeous!!!
Megan W
Beautiful scenery nice size hikes and the trails well maintained. For sure a site worth seeing once you get to the top. Beautiful place and not far From the city either. There is a lot of incline here but A really nice hike overall. Or they have parking right at the red rock itself.
Richard Nussle
Did trading post trail. Easy hike but really beautiful views. We also finished up at the amphitheater. If you don’t have time for a longer hike this is a great one to do. Only about 20-25 min from Denver. Was nice to get out of the city while visiting for work.
Donnie Roebuck
This was our first concert at Red Rocks (Goo Goo Dolls) and it was better than we imagined in the months leading up to the show.
But don't wait for a show to visit, it's a spectacularly beautiful park that everyone should see.
We suggest bringing your A game where shoes and stamina are concerned, it has many feet of elevation change in very short distances...the "North Staircase" is a fine example so be prepared.
From there, just wander and enjoy...you will NOT be disappointed.
Shiloh Kirby
Beautiful as always!
Fun to pick some wildlife and watch production team set up for a show that night!
That place is always popping, but huge enough you don't notice.
Food and drank on site!
Security was on point too!
Aleks Kalashnik
This is a really cool location to visit if you are in the Denver area, even if you don’t have a ticket to a concert taking place here. There are regular concerts here, but even if you just stay on top, you get the beautiful views of Denver and the mountains. There is also a small museum available, with water and facilities.
TheGhost1423_yt
Awesome views! Be ready for a climb! There's tons of stairs. If your able to get reserved seating in the front 6-7 rows, I totally recommend doing so. That way you don't have to fight your way to a seat and fight to keep it.
Ruth Krzyk
So fascinating! I did not realize Red Rocks Amphitheater was proposed by the local mayor in 1908! The museum has the history of the build including the hand drawn blueprints of how it is positioned between the rocks that give the acoustics for which the venue is famous. There is also a chronology of all the concerts, by year, that have been performed at Red Rocks.
We took the 1.5 mile Trading Post trail that loops around. There is an altitude loss/gain of less than 500 feet so it is not too strenuous though one person in our group did struggle. The view are fabulous so I would recommend doing it.
There are no fees unless you want to leave with a souvenir.
I hope to someday return to see a concert.
Krista Wright
Really awesome experience to visit without a show experience! Went on a beautiful winter day. Walk wasn't too long from either parking lot for our older kids ages 9 and 7. Many locals working out on the steps which gave it a cool feel . Awesome sights. Gift shop at the bottom with free museum was pretty neat too.
Justin M
Beautiful scenery with pretty easy hikes around the park and Amphitheater. The red rocks are awesome and the paths get right up next to them.
The Amphitheater itself is a mini wonder. Such a unique place that is used daily by visitors for a variety of exercises, which in itself is impressive to watch.
Jeanette Weiser
A spectacular venue, unlike anything else in the Midwest. Gorgeous views. Energetic crowds. Could use more water filling stations, but apart from that, quite pleased. Be prepared for lots of walking and stair climbing.
a traveling Mom
If you ever get the chance to see a concert here…do it!!! Epic! It’s lots of hiking up to the seating area, so be prepared for that. Worth every step. A few trails to hike. A nice gift shop. Plenty of concessions during the concert. Smoothies are delish!
Abdulaziz
Beautiful landscape surrounded by multiple easy trails. A must visit place if you’re in Denver.
Park your car the Trading Post parking (north side) near the building so you can cover the whole location. It is free if you’re there only for hiking.
Adam “John Sovereignton” Ramsey
A fantastic part to go and enjoy some amazing natural wonders at. The views are spectacular and if you don't feel like getting out there's plenty to see ona short drive through the park as well. These rocks are unlike anything I've seen on my travels so far, it's highly recommened that you go see this park.
Brendon Bay
Passing by this place to go snowboarding and had to stop. I wish i had more time to hike the trails and see more but the little i did see was breathtaking. This stop is a must for anyone wanting a refreshing scenic view. A lot of places to hang out and plenty of parking space.
Don Olker
The venue lived up to all the hype. Its beautiful surroundings matched by exquisite sound makes it a bucket list item for music and nature lovers alike.
Definitely worth visiting and catching a show there at least once.
Nina Thomas
Absolutely beautiful! It was a little more crowded than I wish, but that's because of when we went. We weren't able to hike, so it was great that they had parking where we could park and walk, then drive, then park and walk. But I am sure hikers got to see a lot more of the beauty!
Patrick Russell
Heaven on Earth for concert goers...we watched Nine Inch Nails here two nights in a row and it's just spectacular!!! The sound is amazing, everywhere you are is an amazing view...makes me wish I lived here to be at Red Rocks once a week at least hahaha. Definitely coming back when I can 😁😁😁 …
Joe Caraccia
Red Rocks (and the Josh Groban concert) was the reason for our crazy, last second, decision to jump on an airplane and visit the area! I was unfamiliar with anything about this venue or even ever heard of it until we saw Josh at Jones Beach Theater and hr mentioned Red Rocks as one of his other favorite outdoor arenas. All I can say is that it was spectacular! The venue was simply amazing.
Adan L Beltran
I drove here from California to hike the trail in this park. This must be one of the most beautiful and cleanist trails of seen. Great job to all the workers maintaining the entire park so nice. The long drive was worth it had an awesome time here...
Katie Lauterbach
You got to go at least once. And if you live closer, go more! I hadn't been to Red Rocks in 10 years and I don't know why I waited so long. The weather is almost always perfect, views are great, so is the atmosphere. Seats around 9,000 people. The seats are just a large bench. Plenty of room to sit and walk. Park in the upper lot if you are not familiar with the altitude otherwise the lower lot might be a challenging climb. Chris Isaak was wonderful!
nishant narula
We were in Denver for a day and to visit around Denver we decided to visit Red Rocks Amphitheater.
There is lot of parking spaces around the amphitheater.
There is lot of hiking around amphitheater too.
It is an amazing place to view concert and while going to see the concert stadium you can see the amazing views around the amphitheater especially the lake views.
Good sound from anywhere in there and definitely a place to go and watch the concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater.
Gurpal Singh
Went here as it was my first time in Colorado. This place is amazing. There’s so many good hiking spots plus the concert venue is really cool to look at. If you’re in Denver this is a must visit!
Kirk Magill
This is such a beautiful venue. We just visited during the day, no concert. The views are iconic and I haven’t seen a concert here since 1987. I’d love to come back!
Nataly von Pflug
A MUST SEE in the Denver area. Words cannot even describe how huge the rocks are on either side and it must be amazing seeing a show here!
The park itself was very clean and there was a nice breeze to stay cool as well!
Tammy Nava
Just breathtaking!! Couldn't get out and walk around so we didn't get the full experience but we were in awe right from our truck. Pictures do not do it justice. You have to be there!!! There were deer all around and my daughter just loved it.
Isha Kumar
Absolutely breathtaking!!! We came in the winter so didn’t get a chance to catch a show here but I’ll definitely be back. The venue is beautiful, surrounded by nature and wonderful sunsets. If you come to the area it’s a must see.
Dan Jackson
I knew there was going to be a ton of stairs, but I really wasn't prepared. That being said, it's totally worth it! Best concert venue ever! The view of the night sky is amazing.
Treyce Fugitt
Beautiful day or night. Concerts there are the best you’ll see live. I wish it could seat more people. The exercise groups are amazing. Sightseeing. Morrison, CO is the actual town it’s in. Cute rooftop Mexican place there. Great food. Very small so go early.
Wee Khim Lee
Was here to visit during the fall while on family vacation in Denver on a weekend. The place is absolutely stunning one of the best locations for an outdoor concert. When we were there there were many people just exercising and hiking around and taking photos. Worth spending an hour or 2 exploring the surrounding area and just taking in the scenery.
Victor Puente
Concerts here are always a memory to be cherished. Bands definitely go all out and never skimp on their performance. If you don't want to hike to the top, make plans to arrive at least two hours before your show's door open time. Don't worry about the wait, you can carpool and have brews before the show!
Kevin Ford
Incredible venue. Amazing acoustics, surreal views of red rocks and Denver. Also of note, and this may sound like nothing, but the rows are wide/generous enough to permit people to get in and out easily (bathroom/concessions/etc) without affecting people seated or standing for the show. This is surprisingly nice.
We saw Tyler Childers incidentally and he absolutely killed it. Great show!
basheer bergus
The county of Denver & the city of Denver serve as stewards for this amazing park ten miles west of Denver. The park was purchased in 1927 by the city, with construction beginning in 1936 of the ampitheater, becoming open to the public in 1941. it has since been renovated and is a must see venue for your favorite acts if they have the opportunity to pass through. The space is also host to numerous work out groups and folks enjoying the outdoors. The landscape is incredibly unique and well worth the stop if in the area!

I am never disappointed in Red Rocks. Each time I go, I love it all the more. Has a great museum to visit, hiking trails, concerts/shows, and food and drinks! Always plan for a long line, but other than that, it's amazing.
John DeVisser II
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! We went to sight-see, and we were not disappointed! Nice little gift shop, gorgeous views, and a really cool 'hall of fame' that showcases all the incredible musical acts that have performed here... Only wish we could have caught a Billy Strings show while we were there!
marcus veazey
Definitely a park to go to if you live or are visiting Denver. Plenty of trails to hike and challenge. The mountain ranges, rolling hills and massive red rocks provide great picturesque scenes throughout. Keep your camera ready.
Jay Marschall
The weather was perfect. It's the first time to the Red Rocks. For being as busy as it was, the place was clean and well taken care of. Staff were shoveling snow off the stairs for those visiting. I left wanting to come back for an actual concert.
samantha stolz
It was part of my bucketlist to visit this place and it did not disappoint. We road tripped from California. The amphitheater is just stunning and the band we saw (trampled by turtles) was incredible. I love the bench seating. We recommend tailgating before hand. There is a water bottle fill Station which the line gets pretty long on quick. Lots of stairs so wear comfortable shoes.
Native New Mexican
Incredible venue to see a concert. Just be prepared for a walk and the stairs... High altitude aerobic training advised especially after an excellent tailgate in the parking lot. Can't wait till return.
Sims
So beautiful! I’m not used to the high altitude and even though I hike and run outside in the hills in SoCal I obviously can’t do that here without panting. Beautiful ampitheater. I first heard about this amphitheater while watching something about the Grateful Dead. I’ve wanted to visit ever since then and now I can finally say I have!
Teresa Price
Absolutely wonderful! You can't beat this setting for a concert! Go early and walk the trail. The views are gorgeous. However, it's not very easy to access the seating area, at least for older adults. We had to walk up a long, steep ramp. I hope there are more accessible options, but I didn't see any. There are LOTS of stairs. That being said, it's worth it. Just come prepared.
Kirstin Rangel
Red Rocks is everything you've heard it would be, want it to be, and more. It’s beautiful, inspiring, and a true gathering place. In addition to the amphitheater, which is fantastic, there are multiple beautiful hiking trails. If you haven't been and need a review to convince you...just go.
Lucien Howard
I really wanted to go five star, but I didn't get to see the actual amphitheater. They were gearing up for a concert and shut down the area outside of the amphitheater.
There, however, was so much to take in that I'm going to have to schedule another visit to the area just for the experience. Attached are just a few of the photos I took with my phone.
Merrell Wood
The holy grail of concert venues. Man meets nature, and somehow the acoustics are on point!
Some pro tips from a first time visiting tourist:
1) get there early to get out early! At our show 5/16/22 they parked cars along the road before any lots and these were PRIMO spots! Most of the locals or experienced Red Rocks goers get there early and bring tailgate supplies and hangout on the road! It’s like a party. We brought beer and snacks and hung out in our popped trunk!
2) you can bring in blankets, backpacks, even snacks and drinks (no alcohol) and everything needs to be sealed and in clear bags. Super lenient venue as far as policies go, and awesome staff!
3) PREPARE for a hike! Remember this venue is actually part of a mountainside! It’s stunning and the best part of the experience! With that said, it’s quite a few steps to get to the entrance of the venue, then a ton more to access merch, food, etc. The top is where the party is at!
Have fun!

If you're in Denver and can only see one thing - go to Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater! It's approximately 30-45 min from Denver, depending on time of day and traffic and admission & parking are free. There are several trails available to Hike around the park (Trading Post Trail, Red Rocks Trail, Funicular Trail, Mt Vernon Creek Trail, Geologic Overlook Trail), the trails can become very narrow in spots but not difficult. On days that there are no shows, the Amphitheater is open (free of charge) to the public. There is a museum and gift shop. This venue has so much history and area to discover, so planning your time there accordingly is important.
This was my first time at Red Rocks and I was blown away! What an incredible experience that's worth the time and effort!
Steven Patterson (Realtor at eXp Realty)
This place is beautiful and very relaxing to drive and walk through. There are several places that you can pull over and take photos. We saw a mama and baby deer while we were driving through the park.
mechrorobotocon
Hell yes. First time to go to a show at this world renowned venue. Took a guided tour backstage. Saw My Morning Jacket two nights in a row. The history and feel of this amphitheater is unparalleled, but you could have guessed that.
Michael Conrad
Listen, here's what you need to do:
1) Look up your favorite bands touring schedules.
2) See when they're playing at Red Rocks.
3) Buy tickets and go see them at the most beautiful venue in the country.
Prepare yourself for so many steps and the best concert experience imaginable.

If you’re in the Denver area, definitely recommended visiting red rock amphitheater which sits beautifully between these magnificent red rocks.
They have interesting formations, almost reminds me of the scene from Lion King where Simba is introduced to the animal kingdom.
I recommend going to the top of the amphitheater and enjoy the panoramic view.
They have a gift shop inside the visitor center if you’re interested in buying souvenirs.
If you’re looking for bathrooms which you might find shut, don’t worry! Go down the visitor center and those are open. The outside ones are probably open during concerts.
If you have a pet, they are allowed. I have two huskies who weight 70 pounds each. So you’re good on the weight or breed restriction part.
Hope this helps! Enjoy the view!

Thank you Denver Colorado for such an amazing place to visit. Did not know about this place. While in town on a business trip, my daughter suggested I look it up a take the drive. I was only expecting to drive through some rocks and go back to my hotel. Ended up spending the afternoon here, looking at the amazing scenery. Don't pass this up.
C Ya (ForMeToKnow)
I’m in my late 50’s and hadn’t been to Redrock Theater since a child. They’ve added more features since I was a child, but it was just as spectacular as I remembered it.
Definitely a place to visit.
It also has ports potties so restrooms are available. There are various access points so someone needing help with mobility could find a more suitable place to enter.
The views upon surrounding landscape and distant mountains is spectacular!
If you’re looking for a great view point not too far from the city, this would be it.
Kelsey
This is the coolest venue for concerts! I went here for the first time last week and I was in awe at how beautiful it was. During the day it's an outdoor gym and by night it's over filled with music lovers.
Alberto Lopez
Late July visit. Free parking and easy access to the amphitheater. Get there early to enjoy the view and stop by the visitor center to learn the history of it. Beautiful views around sunset.
Alexis Granados
Saw San Holo & Jai Wolf here and was absolutely blown away by how majestic the venue looked, It's like a sanctuary! Literally the perfect music venue. Everything from the best quality visuals & effects, the acoustics, views and a lot to do before the concert I can't say enough how much of a dream come true seeing 2 of my favorite artists headline a show here I cried at how beautiful it all felt. People who say Disney world is the happiest place on earth have never seen their favorite artist at a concert at Red Rocks. Closest thing to heaven 🤟
K L
Red Rocks is the best concert venue on the planet. Amenities include a new host of vendors, such as Smashburger, make concerts much more posh than in the old days. There are no bad seats in the amphitheater, so I do not stress about early admission to find a seat. Concerts loggerheads all out well ahead of time so plan accordingly.
Jason Hall
Such a breathtaking venue. Parking was great, provided you got the upper north lot. Sound was decent (it's not easy on the side of the mountain I wouldn't think). Concessions are vastly overpriced (I get it, captive audience and all, but damn... Some lube perhaps?)
Eugene Williams
Be ready to hike if you park in the wrong lot. Otherwise, the best venue on the planet to see a show, and a great place to spend an afternoon. Check out the Colorado Music Hall of Fame, way cool! Magic happens here.
Greg Morrett
We went on a day hike to see this special place. There wasn't any venue at this time. The views were amazing. The Colorado music hall of fame is also located here along with a gift store selling Redrock merchandise. The hike is only about 1.4 miles and its a loop. Alot of steps in the Rocky Mountain air to climb but well worth it once you get to the top. The good news is its mostly down hill on the way back.
S Young
Most amazing venue for a concert! Should be on everyone's bucket list! Warning ~ just be prepared for crowds, and long lines. We took an Uber to and from concert...made it much less stressful. But, WOW, what an evening enjoying the music in this natural beauty! Can't wait to go again!
Claudia Braz de Oliveira
Beautiful view. Great way to spend an hour or so. Easy parking also. But be preparad to use porter potties because the restrooms are closed on non event days.
Kristen L. Matulis
I visited Red Rocks Park to hike with friends a few years ago while visiting Denver and it was a really nice experience! Unfortunately, the amphitheater was closed when we visited (they were preparing for a show), so we didn’t get to check out the venue. However, I’m hoping to someday return to catch an event at Red Rocks Amphitheater!
Connie Davis
Had a great night! Red rocks is so much more Hendon accessible than fiddlers green. Not to mention the great friendly staff and great show! I will definitely look at red rocks for my concert needs now!
Paul Rainey
My wife and I saw Highly Suspect here. Unique and beautiful amphitheater. Things to know if visiting: lots of stairs!, high elevation for lowlanders, and bring a jacket for fall shows. Oh, and lots of stairs!
Fiestas303
The energy and views are amazing, since I was in the area decided to go check it out and get more exercise in. The main idea was to get out of the gyme and enjoy nature and the outdoors while get some exercise and it worked out. I I got there around 720 am and left by 8am. I snapped some photos just exploring the premises, then decided to run the rows all the way up one by one. It took me around 30 min at at a fairly slow pace 3.5-4mph jog. It was not that difficult but started to have doubts as my legs were already bit worked up.
There's many people all ages working out their pace either doing jumps, skipping up the. Rows or jumping up. The jumping ses pretty easy but just standing to imagine you must be fairly light to jump as they are pretty wide and high on each level.
You can see thecity skyscraper silouhette which was nice. Again the sunrise or sunset must be mazing from here.
Definitely recommend you check it out even if it just to explore. It may not workout for you for working out but pretty sure you'll be able to enjoy the views if you enjoy the outdoors.
Oh by the way, the restrooms seem to remain closed until 9 or 10 so you must utilize portable one The parking below the entry parking area.
Phillipe Rivera
A beautifully crafted theater within mother nature's art. This amphitheater boasts scenic views that will have you saying "WoW!". This amphitheater has history as many music icons have played here. This is a must for all artists to headline here to solidify their greatness in legendary music.
The scenic views and acoustic sounds ricochet off the red rocks creating a stellar, out of world experience. Many great events are held here, the music hall also has some great paraphernalia from artists who have come and gone. A small replica of the amphitheatre as well as some photos of what it looked like when it all started. Sit and watch past concerts on a big screen in the music hall and learn about the legends of music.
Some information on dinosaurs 🦖🦕 and fossil relics. Dont forget to visit the gift shop as there are many cool must haves ,collectibles and souvenirs.
Chris Elliott
We went hiking here with 7 out of shape, but highly motivated flatlanders from Nebraska. The trail was rated "easy" by all trails, but for us, it was a great challenge, and breathtaking views from the trading post trail.
The snow and ice made for some treacherous descents, but we made it, and loved the trail. Can't wait to come back during the summer and see it then!
Tin Nguyen
Should be world wonder. Beautiful red rock formations. Theater is grand. Nice trails around the park. Museum is full of historical facts and artifacts.
Shehan Fernandez
This place feels divine and looks celestial. You have to come here to enjoy a show at least once in your lifetime! This, for us was a life-changing venue.
Getting in and out has become very easy with the awesome staff, and the well-managed roads.
D D
Must visit this place beautiful.
The rocks will talk to you, the view is unbeatable and adorable. There is a perfect parking lot there. We had a lovely time and are very thankful to have visited.
Patrick Elliott
Haven't yet been able to attend a show, but I hope to in the near future. The park and Amphitheater are beautiful. I highly recommend going and seeing for yourself.
Julius Niskey
Ohhh my goodness. The walk up was a kicker. Going back to gym when I get back. The place is amazing, I look forward to seeing a show here one day. The band up top was amazing. I will return. Great time to spend with family.
Jennifer Smith
If you want to see an AMAZING COLORADO sunrise...this is the spot!!! We went around 5:30AM...so many other people were already there to do the same thing. We went to entrance 1 of the red rocks ampitheatre and drove all the way to the top, passed the little rock tunnel. Parking is limited because there were other people going to do the same thing as us. After the sun came up we explored inside the amphitheater itself (yes it is open to the public for free). So many people in there exercising or just sitting and talking. I can't wait to see a concert...it will be worth the money to see a venue here.
Kim E
If you are going to visit Denver you need to see these beautiful Red Rock formations! It's out of this world! Layer upon layer, set in staggered form, this place is a world wonder!
Jonathan
This is absolutely by and far one of the best place to go see a concert. We had a wonderful time and great seats.
If you have a chance to go see a concert here this is the place to do it and it should not be missed.
Sharon Carr
Wow, new this was going to be an amazing show, but seriously, this venue is absolutely majestic. What a beautiful park. Be ready to basically be climbing up and down a mountain all night though, haha! Obviously. Totally worth the workout, views are amazing.
Elaine Lee
This was just for a visit and not for a show or concert. The hike up is a ramp and very accessible. The views are good. The bathrooms were not open but there were portapotties down below. Parking was plentiful.
April Johnson
Loved it what an awesomely amazing show put on by Train, Jewel and Thunderstorm 😍🤩 venue is naturally beautiful especially during the day, only thing is no need to bring cash the take cards only which I wasn't fully prepared for and take a Pancho little plastic one because you never know maybe a blanket or hoody too? Whatever floats your boat
Ryan Wheale
One of the best venues in the country. A must see if you're visiting the area, or better yet, fly out to see a band you really like. It'll be worth it! Its worth getting there earlier to get a seat in row 40 or lower. The sound can get washy higher up on a windy night (most nights are windy).
Katarzyna Cantu
Beautiful place! We visited during our recent trip to Colorado. We also walked the Trading Post Trail, which I highly recommend for more views of the Rocks.
Zachary White
Excellent views and trails, it's a little bit icy currently but if had the correct gear or the desire/safety minded patience it's still a fine place to hike. We caught the tail end of the sunrise from the over look up at the top. After the our short hike we drove over to the visitor center and the amphitheatre which is equally impressive to wander through and probably would have been just as impressive of a viewing point for the sunrise.
P. R.
Didn't come for a show, just toured the venue. Pretty freakin' cool. Also literally. Came in early March, still cold and snowy. I think we took the absolute most difficult way up to the amplitheater (walked up from the Trading Post, then up ALL of the stairs). Pro tip: there is a parking lot near the top so you don't have to suffer like we did. The history and museum part is also a must. Really cool.
C Tedesco
This was a major bucket list trip! I have always wanted to go to Red Rocks for a show and we jumped at the opportunity to see Wilco there this year. It did not disappoint! What an amazing location for a show. I’m looking forward to seeing the calendar for next year to maybe turn this into an annual trip. Two pieces of advice:
1. We stayed downtown and took a CID shuttle bus to the show. The bus left from The Thirsty Lion in downtown near Union Station, and was really convenient.
2. Depending on the time of year, bring layers. It got pretty cold with some wind coming through early evening, and we were happy to have brought layers and a blanket.
Looking forward to our 2nd show there sometime soon, hopefully!
Spencer Lichtenstein
Top outdoor live event venue I've ever experienced. Can't recommend strongly enough. Worth every penny for the ticket. Incredible views, suggest going early and doing a hike on a trail off one of the parking lots.
Just James
So beautiful 😍. Traveled from out of state to be here and it did not disappoint. You are going to earn your show here with all those stairs. I'm coming back for a work out ❤️👏 Restrooms well maintained. Staff was very friendly. …
Lydia Creevy
I’ve always wanted to go to a concert here. It was winter when I visited so I just walked around the concert venue. The steps will give you a good workout! I’m glad I went because now I know past row 50 I’m going to have to stop and catch my breath LOL.
TheBudgetFamilySykesAgain
Beautiful scenery. Cool amphitheater and an awesome trail to hike (trading post). We had a great time in this amazing place. Free admition! Highly recommend!!!
Ryan Stevens
We were in town and drove over to Red Rocks for a little bit but unfortunately didn’t get to experience a concert there. Absolutely breathtaking views and very cool venue though! Will definitely be back next time for a concert!
William N
Checked it out in early December on my way back from Breckinridge. It was absolutely gorgeous. I had a light dusting of snow and was open to the general. Wish I could have gotten to see a performance but there is still time. Can’t wait to go back in nicer weather!
CurtDog Winslow
A must see !! Beautiful loving place , about every musician you can think about has played there over the years, 4 or 5 years in a row was the top venue in the world , me and my wife attended Barenaked Ladies concert with toad the wet sprocket and gin blossoms “ sound was phenomenal and just the overall experience was definitely one for the books ! The scenery an view was breathtaking !!!!! Words cannot Express the way the place makes you feel”” ! Memories me and my wife will never forget “. hats off to all the venue workers staff and security excellent job ! A MUST SEE !!!!!
Kat Gott
By far my favorite venue for concerts and shows that I've ever been to in my life. 15/10 would HIGHLY recommend going to an event here. Anyone who chooses to live near this venue and complain about noise should just move somewhere else because it's just absolutely magical and needs to remain an active live music venue
Ana Garcia
Must visit when in Denver!
Lots of walking but the views are spectacular. We did bird watching last time we were there. Free parking and free of charge to go in.
B D
Best Outdoor Venue!! Absolutely love the atmosphere. The history here is wild. You can learn more about the history at the visiting center up top. They have a Music & Red Rocks Hall of Fame. You can see the list of every show played there. There are not only shows, but fun activities they host through out the year like yoga & films to watch… Helpful tips: the venue steps throughout the space are wide in length, so watch your step. Also plz b aware of where you park, there are upper & lower parking levels. I am beyond happy to have the chance to visit here for so many memorable experiences. Thank you Red Rocks!
Nicole Worsham
The most amazing concert venue! Pictures could never do it justice. If you get an opportunity to see a show here, don't hesitate!
Mike “Gotbeers” S.
The best venue for a concert! We enjoyed String Cheese Incident. What a concert with fantastic views. Well worth it. **note if you are not from Colorado, there is a long hall to get up to the concert venue, you've been warned.
Sean Forrest
Red Rocks is the truest five stars I'll ever be able to give! However, just a friendly reminder to people who get salty about attendees standing during a show. Concerts are about good vibes and big energy, especially at the greatest venue on the planet. If you're sour because the people in front of you are on their feet, wanting to rock during a ROCK 'N' ROLL show, then maybe stay at home?
Faiq Khan
"Wherever you go, go with all your heart." — Confucius.
It was snowy as hard as it could get and we’re just exploring around Denver as we couldn’t get into higher mountains and found this place not too far from Denver!!! It was pretty nice trail around these rocks!!
Prince “The Prince of 407”
Breathtaking Amphitheatre. Literally and figuratively. I'm not accustomed to life at this elevation and had to pause to catch my breath every 2nd or third flight of stairs. Have no fear though they have elevators ti the top for those who need it Totally worth the view, regardless of where you're positioned.
Kevin Nofsinger
It does not matter who you see here but it is a must venue for a show. Obviously it is an amazing setting but on top of that the sound quality is great and they had so many beverage stations open (at different levels) that I never had to wait in line for a drink.
Nancy J
Definitely worth the visit! Easy drive up! Great lookout spots! Plenty of hiking trails! Very cool landscape
Geryll Anthony Agno
We were lucky that we went on a time when there weren't very many people around so we got to enjoy the amphitheater in a more intimate setting. You just to see it to believe the beauty it holds.
I will one day attend a concert here. I'm just waiting for the right artist to finally get their chance to sell out this epic and historic amphitheatre
Alex Pinto
-A beautiful place to hike, watch a concert, nature watch, just about anything.
-The view from the top of the venue is unparalleled amongst other venues. Easily one of the US’s top bucket list venues.
-Plenty of bathrooms and food sources throughout the venue.
-Top of the venue has a cool museum dedicated to Red Rocks.
-Venue security tends to be a bit over zealous at times when it comes to checking people on the way in.
Angie M
Beautiful scenery!! if you go to Colorado this is a must place to visit. Make sure you take comfortable walking shoes because you will probably do a lot of walking specially walking up and down the stairs. Overall it's worth visiting.
Eloíza
Five stars for the views and quads workout:D Originally we wanted to record a music video on the amphitheater stage but it got too late in the evening for us, by the time our guitar player and second back up singer made it up. We did however record at the entrance were the tunnel was at. Our kids stayed entertained and had such a great time throwing snow balls at each other and being on stage.
Lance Mefford
The Cafe served one of the top 5 lunches I have ever had - Cheese Steak Sandwich!
Did not know the venue shuts down at 2pm on concert nights. Missed out on walking around the venue.
But the Cafe made the trip worth it!
Rufina M
This place is amazing! Even though there was no show scheduled for that day, it was still excited to visit. The views are grand. As a music enthusiast, I was totally geeked out! The museum has an exhibit that any concert lover would appreciate. I can only imagine the acoustics. Already planning on coming back next year once the concert lineup is announced.
Simply stunning view.
Susan Horton
GORGEOUS venue!! Have never been to anything like it. Wish I'd have gone years ago. If you're up in age, make sure you're in shape. The climb to the stage area is arduous.
b collins
Amazing! Definitely with a trip to see and seeing a concert here is truly a magical experience. Parking in the North lots is easier if you’re seeing a show— not as much walking. Bring a raincoat. Check their website for rules on what you can bring in.
Kevin M
We were in town for one evening and Chris Tomlin was playing that night! Red Rocks is a beautiful location! We are from Canada but will come back to see other concerts at Red Rocks! It rained the night of the show so make sure you check the weather and come prepared! We were dressed warm enough and had rain jackets so we enjoyed the show and stayed to the end!
Santana Adame
One of the coolest and best sounding venues I've ever been to. The bathrooms are located either at the bottom or the top(ish) so be prepared for a workout. Drinks were surprisingly cheap. 10/10 so dope!
Ishan “Iczey” Patel
The Red Rocks are simply put, SUBLIME.
Please go here, it really won’t matter who’s playing as the beautiful environment transforms from day to night and the entire crowd embraces it as we rock and move our hips to some good tunes.
This was my first trip to the Red Rocks but it certainly won’t be my last. If you haven’t been, please do go as soon as you can.
The Red Rocks will change your entire view on life, well it did for me anyways. Rock on friends!
Jill Groubert
When we bought our house in Arvada in 2020, the fact that Red Rocks was only 25 minutes away was actually a contributing factor. We've been to concerts at many venues over the years, but there's nothing like Red Rocks. We've been to multiple concerts, including 1964, Get the Led Out (twice), Brit Floyd, Lindsay Stirling, Killer Queen, Nathaniel Ratliffe and the Night Sweats as well as Film on the Rocks (The Greatest Showman). It can be a real hike if you have to park in one of the lower parking lots, so be sure to wear appropriate footwear if you're not sure where you'll be parking. We like to bring in a small cooler with sandwiches, water, and snacks and have a picnic dinner before the concert begins. We've also invested in folding seats with cushions and backs because as you get older, the backless bench seating can be less than comfortable. We're lucky to live close enough to attend multiple events at this amazing venue. If you're visiting Denver and have the opportunity to attend a concert or film at Red Rocks, make it a priority. You'll be glad you did!
Caitlin Marie
Super cool place! Highly recommend visiting if you’ve got the chance! If you’re looking for a free outdoor workout space this is a good one for that as well! Also recommend walking through the museum portion - it’s really interesting to see the history!
David Crosby
I won't have the words to describe this place, especially if you come here for a concert. It is simply something you need to experience for yourself. The hikes in the park are great, the biking is fantastic and the music hall of Fame is also quite good. You can do a lot of activities here even if you are just looking for a place to chill and just to take it all in, this is the place.
Gerardo Uribe
Amazing place with great views, is a small place so you can finish your tour in only 45 minutes, big parking lot, amphitheater was been remodeling and restrooms was closed but were open in the parking lot. Recommended to go with kids and its free
Shari Tyler
I have read the reviews and had an expectation. But seeing it in person blew my expectation out of the water. I had to stop for a breather a couple times up the stairs...lol We can't wait to listen to a concert at Red Rock.
Mr Bill Bowling
Wow what a place be sure to visit even though you may not have concert tickets. Amazing nature created this thousands of years ago. In 1906 humans recognized the sound quality of nature.
Lisa Herrington Morgan
Words just can't express how AWE INSPIRING this venue is. It's gorgeous, both in daylight and after dark. The sound and lightshow setup is superior. The amphitheater seating is comfortable and spaced generously enough that people can come and go without stepping on each other. The stairs at this altitude are a bit of a struggle for flatlanders like me, but there are plenty of spaces to step aside and catch your breath on the way up. They allowed us to bring blankets, sealed drinks, and snacks and there's are PLENTY of vendors selling alcohol, snacks, to and even real food. Red Rocks is the very best venue I've ever experienced and we can't wait to return for more shows.
Troy Langham
An amazing place to be! The performance venue is know world wide of course for those acoustics and sight lines... But this place is so much more! Hiking and exploring when a show is not happening is very worthy.
Aundrea Lee
Amazing place! Went to see Tash Sultana June 2022. I would go back in a heartbeat for more concerts because of the awesome atmosphere and acoustics! 🥰 …
Blondie Bone
Amazing venue. I took Red Rocks Shuttle bus there and back to town bc I don't know if I would like driving out there. Amazing sound!! Amazing views. You gotta come at least once !
Steve Marsh
What an amazing place! We didn't attend a concert here but just walked around and ate lunch at the restaurant. It's probably one of the most unique places I've ever been
Derrick Grant
Red Rocks Park and amphitheater is a great place to visit while you are in the Denver area, it’s an incredible experience. If you want to get some exercise while you are there, I suggest walking the amphitheater steps, it’s an amazing work out. The area is very scenic, it has a trail, museum and amphitheater to visit. It’s a great way to spend the day and the scenery is unmatched. I highly recommend visiting Red Rocks Park.
Brandy Belton
So beautiful! I was able to come and visit here on a clear day, it was in the 70's and just so majestic. People from all over come to visit. A must for everyone to see. I wish I could have stayed longer, the pictures are got a beautiful but I could have taken so many more of different structures. Artists also come to play here as well.
Don Riches
What a beautiful venue! Hard to beat the views. Not so easy to get to and from concerts there, though. Winding and confusing roads going in and out. I suggest that visitors review the map of the area to understand the best routes in and out. Also, arrive early and plan to walk some distance on up and down trails.
Ray
Great venue, will definitely be back. If you're looking for transportation from Denver I'd recommend Bus Party Colorado. To be honest I wasn't looking forward to the bus but we had a great time. The Uber line was crazy long when the concert finished!
Moon Jung Lee
Whether you’re here for an event or not, it is always breathtaking to see the red rocks and its beautiful scenery. It’s definitely worth the drive and the hike to see some of the beauty that it has!
beat shona
Great outdoor concert stage for 10k people, set amongst spectacular red rock formations. There are some nice hiking paths amongst the rock formations, and a small museum.
Josh Angel
We did not come here for a show, just to tour the (incredible) grounds. We didn’t realize how much EXERCISE it would be, LOL. If you don’t like stairs then you may want to pass, although I’m pretty out of shape and have some knee issues and was able to get to the top and back down without much difficulty.
Anyway, on to the view, which is amazing and made the hike well worth it. Pictures do this place no justice whatsoever - they just can’t capture the scope and grandeur of the venue and surrounding rock formations. But if you come here you won’t be able to help yourself, this place begs for photos to be taken.
There is a smallish museum of the acts that have played here that was enjoyable as well. All-in-all about 90 minutes was enough for us to get all the view (and exercise) we could handle. This place is gorgeous and worth a visit.
I imagine the concerts are good too.
Tony Snowden
It's really worth sitting in the middle of you can. The sound was good on the outer seats but dead center was perfect. Obviously the most picturesque place to see a show. Wish I had taken more pics inside It was so beautiful I was kinda lost in the moment
Zesty Zebras
Great place to see concerts or go on hikes; we saw wild life several times. Place is huge. I highly recommend putting this place on your bucket list. Highly recommend!
Britt H
What’s not to love? This is, quite literally, the best outdoor venue I have ever been to. The way that the sound reverberates off of the rocks is amazing. There’s plenty of seating and standing. the only thing I don’t like is that a 19.2oz craft beer costs $14. Yeah, it’s like that everywhere else, but not everybody needs to price gouge.
Toni King
FANTASTIC park for hiking and see God's beautiful creations! Paths are excellent and there are miles of different trails to choose from! I recommend bringing ear plugs and dressing in layers to protect your ears from the wind and cool air during morning hours. I also highly recommend getting out to the park in time to watch the sunrise! One of the most beautiful, red sunrises I have ever seen! I also recommend checking the website to be sure there isn't an event going on when you want to visit - the concerts/events they have draw thousands of people, and if you want the true nature experience, you don't want to go when there is a large crowd around.
Yesenia Celestino
This place is A M A Z I N G!
Seeing a concert here is a MUST! The natural acoustics are fabulous and the entire view is just absolutely breathtaking. We saw Josh Groban here and it was so worth the trip!
Keep in mind, that events go on, rain or shine, so be sure to follow all advice on the official website.
Kyla Oelkers
One of the coolest places I've ever been! Amazing scenery and plenty of wildlife. I've only ever been to a evening concert but it was an awesome experience.
CaraBerr
This venue truly speaks for itself. If you have never been to Red Rocks before, get yourself there ASAP. No matter who is performing, it's always going to be an incredible show. I went for the first time this past May for my birthday, and a rainbow appeared before the show, enveloping the stage. All I can say about Red Rocks is: it's pure magic.
Willie Ruiz
Second time just checking out during a non concert time. I would def put catching a concert here on the bucket list. The top levels were closed when I went in late December but you still get a great view and scenery. Very cool spot to just check out during non shows times.
Melissa Rancour
Gorgeous views! Love the way they built the facilities into the rocks. Highly recommend going earlier in the day to miss the crowds
Kelly McKenna aka Santa Claus
One of very best venues in North America. The outdoor beauty and acoustics are superb. Recently witnessed Mr. Joe Bonamassa. Rumor has it that Red Rocks is one of Joe's favorite stages to perform on.
Tian Ouyang
Great place to hike & experience the scale of the amphitheater. A little bit of snow will make things more fun - look out for a sunny day after a storm!
Dan Addington
It's legendary as a concert venue. It's also a fantastic place to visit when there's no show. I was disappointed that there was a corporate event the day we were there which prevented us from seeing much of the museum/music displays based on past concerts etc, but we saw some of it. The surrounding area is full of hiking trails which are beautiful.
Martinez
While on my trip to Colorado Springs I was recommended I stop here and I’m so glad I did. This place is just breathtaking. It’s so beautiful! We were also able to walk on the trail around the amphitheatre.
kim walker
Insane experience here! So happy to have purchased tickets in the vip section, amazing to be so close to your favorite artists and love how much space you have to move around. Got so see my number one artist Zhu, and can honestly say I will be back to see him for every show!
Natalia Yasmine
I've lived in Colorado my entire life...I've heard artists talk about it being the best venue in the world...and finally I saw my first show and INCREDIBLE! The staff was great...parking is poor but probably can't change.
Robert Averill
Absolutely gorgeous. Food was ok.. but the scenery and museum were amazing. Is a definite for anyone traveling to the Denver area
Olga Ilina
Magnificent place for concerts. Beautiful location. Open sky. Crowded parking.
We went to see Rufus du sol. The show was great but stuff was very annoying.
Scott Tillman
Was even more stunning than it looks in pictures. Loved every minute of our trip out here, will def be going back often. Easy to navigate, helpful security, and the site app made the experience super easy to enjoy.
Sherrydon Turner
It was beautiful! I've been there before, but it's still beautiful up there! The people are very nice and helpful!! The weather was nice and it was quiet.
Tabitha Foster
Absolutely beautiful. There was a sound check going on while we were there and the music echoing through the park was nice. The only downside was that there was a wedding taking place and you couldn't go to the back of the Trading Post and see the views from their and the back porch.
Jay Z
Beautiful natural stage. Rare thing to see, it was clean and the views were breathtaking. A must see when you visit Denver.
Michael Hagy
Since no concerts were playing, went sightseeing here. I was able to park at the top which is a drop off for concerts. There is beautiful scenery all around. After parking, we walked down the path to the Amphitheatre. Before you get to it, there is a visitor center, museum and restaurant on the lower level. Walk down the stairs or take the elevator.
Turn left at bottom of stairs and you are at the visitor center. There are gifts to buy here. Go right and head down hallway, you will see some dinosaur artifacts. A little further, you reach the museum (free) with memorabilia from people and groups who have played there. Ship Rock Grille is here and open for business. Good food.
After eating and then visiting museum, went back up top to explore the Amphitheatre. WoW!! The view of this massive place is awesome. My kids ventured down to bottom to stand on stage. I stayed up top until they got back.
When we left and drove down the road, there is Red Rocks Trading Post and Colorado Music Hall of Fame inside (free to see). They have shirts, hats and other souvenirs to purchase. This park is definitely a must see because the terrain is so much different than the other mountain areas.
Justus Williams
Red Rocks remains to be one of the most impressive and beautiful amphitheaters in the U.S.
🤔However. In recent years seating policies and tier ticket pricing, such as VIP and Reserved seating have had an impact on GA availability and access. Parking is also a clear issue at this venue. Long walks to reach the venue is common. Be prepared, water, rain coats, etc. 👍
Mel b
Red Rocks is a must see if you’re in the area! And if you can catch a show there, even better. We frequently travel to Denver with the sole intent to visit Red Rocks and see a musical act. It’s very beautiful and the sound is unmatched. There’s also many hiking trails to visit if that’s more your thing!
Tiera Welsh
Red Rocks is incredible! My absolute favorite venue the sound is unmatched, it's very easy to navigate, and the views are just breath-taking. Highly recommend!
DJ/Don Heinz
Best outdoor place to see a concert, in my humble opinion , on Earth!!
Also a great place to go on nonconcert days to hike, walk the trails, and stand on the stage where so many music legends have played.
Rion Fall
The energy of this place is off the charts! Everything from the views to the acoustics to the wonderful little mini museum. Coming to this place will be know as one of the most memorable moments in my life. I ended up coming here at practically a moments notice due to a good friend wanting a travel buddy and hadn't a clue what I was getting into. One of the best decisions I ever made! I'd do it all again if the opportunity presents itself!
Angelo
Absolutely incredible area. So many trails and great food at the restaurant. There's an amazing view of downtown Denver behind the amphitheater. You should definitely take a trip here for a view. I bet the concerts here are so unique and fun.
Tim Troxel
We're here to see Jewel and Train. A great venue to watch live music. Such a fabulous natural amphitheater.
Emily “Sacred.Spirit.Child” Collins
Amazing venue!!! Holy hell!!! I saw the Southpark 25th anniversary Primus and Ween show here and it was my first time here. What a beautiful place to watch a show. Very laid back and fun place to experience any show.
Ian Davis
Absolutely unbelievable venue! Incredible acoustics and breathtaking (literally, thanks elevation) views!! Can’t wait to go back
Bri K
Such an amazing place to check out even if you don't get to see a concert here. It was gorgeous.
Christopher Gorrie
Red Rocks has an amazing feel to vibe. The park itself is gorgeous and offers a unique sightseeing and hiking experience. The venue is otherworldly. The view upward from the stage is exhilarating to say the least. I haven’t had a chance to see a concert here yet, but it seems like it would be a really special experience. Come out and hike the paths around the venue, and later see a show! Beautiful and singular event space.
Gabriella Ramirez
Wow Colorado is so beautiful for starters, but omg what a beautiful amphitheater! It's got a pretty outlook, seating has enough space between rows that it seems like it would make for a comfortable concert. The rocks look so incredible. The acoustics sounds incredible. I went on a Sunday in the afternoon and there were a good amount of people but not an uncomfortable amount. Great place to get some exercise or just sit and talk.
George Zabel
I had an amazing hike at sunrise - get there just before dawn, park near the Red Rocks Trading post, and take the Trading Post Trail to the southeast. The terrain is easy and flat, but more importantly it’s just magical being surrounded by surreal rock formations lit by the rising sun. The amphitheater is pretty too, but nothing on this hike.
Derek Oliver
One of the most epic places in the world to see a concert. You'll be in awe the whole time. Be prepared to go up a lot of steps, though!
Lisa Heyer
This was one off my bucket list and so much more than I imagined! There’s a lot of walking but worth it once you get to the top. The amphitheater was “wow” to see in person! This is a must if in the area.
Zach Li
We saw San Holo and Jai Wolf perform and it was one of the best concert experiences I’ve had, especially with the red rocks in the back drop. If you get a chance to see an electronic artist i would 1000% recommend!
Also park in one of the lower lots and save you the headache at the end. It is a 10-15 min “hike” up to the theater but it is really scenic if it is your first time.
Jody Martin
One the most amazing and iconic concert venues in America.. shows here are what a true live music experience is all about .. see and hear it for yourself !!
Chantelle Cook
Hands down my favorite venue of all time. Acoustics are amazing with the rocks lining the stage and seating! Loved seeing Caamp there this weekend!
Nick Benhart
Bucket list this place if you haven’t already. Had the pleasure of seeing Wilderado and Mt Joy here. Red Rocks is by far the best concert experience I have ever had. It is the most beautiful concert venue with stunning sites before the show even begins. We shuttled in from Denver (after flying in from Iowa), the busses parked in the upper north lot, we walked in to our seats, had a blast, shuttled out - no hassles - just a damn good time.
Leigh Ramirez
Iconic. If you haven’t been here make a point to come. You won’t regret it. If you can make it to a concert, great. If not, go to yoga at red rocks. Or just go and sit and enjoy the beauty of it all. If you get to see your favorite band, you won’t ever forget it.
Kelly Curiel
There are some magnificent views of the Red Rocks and Rockies from here! It gets super cold out here in the winter but it's totally worth withstanding the wind whiplash. There also is a cute little Trading Post on the way out (that's pretty expensive) for souvenirs.
Joe Lehman
I went to see this in the winter as I haven’t seen snow in almost 30 years. It was beautiful and glorious. To my luck, it started snowing while I was there. I would recommend this area to everyone. So amazing!
Courtney Bradford Pike
Absolutely beautiful 😍.. definitely worth a visit. Apparently there are workout classes and you can see artists during sound checks on concert says. Very cool museum and everything is free (minus the restaurant obviously). Definitely a place to visit. …
Ashton
Do yourself and check the weather before attending an event. We went to see Dom Dolla and there was a snow storm mid-set. Made for some incredible visuals and an amazing concert… for those who dressed appropriately! My Al time favorite venue
Sasha Esperance
It was great being there. Although they had a concert one day after visited it was a great view and good short and sweet exercise.
Jennifer Gaag
Iconic concert venue. We had a beautiful night for a show. Be ready to go up and down a lot of steps. It can feel very steep, if you are scared of heights.
Dave Melvin
Absolutely fantastic place to see a concert. Lots of steps so be ready. Bring stadium seats because seats are wood with no backs.
Chad Harris
This place is absolutely incredible. The views are stunning. The architecture and the way they built it is very cool. The hike to the top is well worth it. It's an absolute must see if visiting the area. Especially since it's free.
Stephen Cox
What a legendary venue! Parking and leaving can be a slow and arduous process, but you can arrive early, take a little hike and park along the road at the second entrance facing out of the park and you can beat some of the traffic. Bathroom locations are a real bummed if you are in a large swath of the middle of the venue, so drink with caution lol.
Joseph Maute
A must see!! Beautiful. Walking and a lot of steps just fyi. A great place and bar to eat outside or in. Friendly, helpful
Amy March
My first red rocks concert experience was AWESOME! Highly recommend seeing your favorite band or any band there. Even went backstage with our package, super cool experience
Binoy Subhakumar
I went for an EDM concert here(Seven Lions, Jason Ross). Everyone talks about the acoustic here but I have had better audio experiences in Clubs/concert venues. Acoustics here is definitely unique but the USP of this place is definitely the view. It cannot be matched by any clubs/concert venues. People were having a great time here. When I talked to some of the locals, they mentioned that people come here without even knowing the artists because they love the venue so much. I haven't been to any other venue where venue is an emotion to the people than the artist.
Couple of things I noticed here
- This might not be the best edm concert venue as it kinda hard to dance on steps
- If you decide to restrooms either you have to climb up or climb down. Either way on the way back you will loose track of where you stood before. So keep track of the row number when you leave for a break.
- Climbing up and down for food and loo breaks can drain your precious energy for the vent :D.
- Loved the natural air and cool breeze at night. It is a heavenly feeling.
The Solution People
Absolutely gorgeous venue! We had the pleasure of attending an event in the Red Rock conference room space and were able to enjoy the entire property and museum. Looking forward to return soon. This place is amazing!! The museum is really well done for all music lovers :)
Leanna Walker
Very cool place to visit. The visitor center layout was a little weird. I imagine most people go for concerts and not the visitor center. The concession stands kind of ruin the ambiance of the place. But I'm sure if a concert is in full swing it's awesome.
demitreis brown
Amazing!!!! I'm still sore days later after going up 391 stairs not including 4 ramps to make it to the top which was 6,410 above sea level. Must see "Red Rock Amphitheater ". It's actually breath taking, literally!!!!!
Anirudh Pillai
One of the most beautiful amphitheater I have been to, it will be a dream to play here. Lots of trails to walk around and capture beauty of this place. We didn't see a concert here but toured the amphitheater which was amazing. I would highly recommend checking out the museum and checking out hall of Fame and bands that played here. Don't miss this place if you are visiting Denver.
IG: journey_man16
Randy French
Was only able to be here this time for a couple of hours as there was a concert later. We have been there several times, it is always beautiful!!
Bee Miller
Oh what a venue!!!! We love this place!
Most beautiful place for concerts!
Wish you wouldn’t have to deal with the nasty pot smell from people around you:(
But we still always have a wonderful time at this place!
Kimberly Ferris
I didn't attend a concert. We just stopped to take in the site.
Nothing much to do. You can walk the amphitheater stairs for fun. They also have a nice little hallway museum where you can read lists of all the singers who performed there. A small gift shop, the coffee was supposed to be open but after checking back multiple times after the posted open sign they never did open.
Beautiful view, if you don't have many plans and are just looking to add something to your to see list, I'd add this.
Josh Reed
Amazing venue! Bit of a hike but once you find your spot there is room to move around
Michael Barlow
Absolutely gorgeous! Well worth the visit and trek. Can't wait to experience a concert here!
Natalie VandePol
Some serious hiking trail and the elevation got to a couple people in our party, but absolutely gorgeous views.
Patricia Garcia
My kids saw a concert on 10/31/22 .. I was fortunate to see the beauty at night with the lights from the highway even to the daytime of exploring the next day. Soo much beauty to see and take in.
Tim
Quite a few great hiking trail. The stairs around the Amphitheater will give you a good workout.
Sherry Z
This place is breathtakingly gorgeous, probably the most unique amphitheater I have been to. Can’t wait to come back for a concert.
Amanda Raygoza Bliss
The best venue I have ever been to, Hands down!! Spacious rows, views for days and all the fun stuff to do and buy was such an experience:)
Mikey Schaubroeck
Best venue I've ever been to. Beautiful hiking trails all around - I highly encourage everyone to see a show here at least once in their lifetime !!
William Manard
Always a great place to see a concert, even in the rain! Great scenery and great acoustics, with a bonus workout coming from the parking lots
Aaron Lucas
Such a wonderful experience. I walked all the trails before attending a 7:30pm concert in the Amphitheater. The sound is next level quality. The setting has a otherworldly feeling to it. This has been one of my greatest experiences in life. You have to attend a concert here. WoW thanks Red Rocks
Todd Childers
Amazing scenery. We were just taking a self guided tour and heppened to be there for a bit of the sound check for Brantley Gilbert.
Rex Cunningham
Best and most beautiful place to visit and see live music. I highly suggest watching the sun rise there.
Eric Petersen
Such a cool place! Definitely worth the trip out to see it. I like how you can walk around the entire place during the day. Must see!
liz churchville
Sadly I didn't see a show but this place is amazing! It is now I life goal to come back for a concert! Highly recommend you check it out!
Martha Mejia
Absolutely amazing the view it's beautiful. We went in April nice but alittle cold once sun went down. Kevin Gates was totally amazing. We had a good time
Ethan Bickmore
Such a beautiful area to have an amphitheater where many talented artists can perform in natural beauty. I didn't get to see a concert here yet, but I'm sure the acoustics are amazing.
Joe Carter
The coolest concert venue I've ever been to. It's must go, even if you don't know the band
Samantha Garland
So neat! Great hikes for all hikers. The amphitheater is a must see if nothing else.
Beverly Hinds
Really beautiful place and definitely a place to go when they dont have a show playing. Lots of people being active and working out. Great place for pics and being outdoors
John Bundy
This place has great uses other than just concerts/shows. You can walk around the venue or there are plenty of trails all around it.
John Prentiss
It's always been a great place to view events. However the cashless bars are nuisance I think they have one bar that accepts cash somewhere on the premises so that way they are within the legal bounds of accepting currency that is paper tender. Parking situation is different for every show just prepare yourself to take a hike to the amphitheater.
Miranda G
So glad I got to cross this of my bucket list. It's an amazing venue and everyone should attend at least one event here just for the experience.
But they lost a star because the ride share system here is horrible. No signs where to go off you want to use Uber or Lyft. My driver wasn't helpful either. I recommend taking a ride share there but using the taxi service to leave. They aren't very ride share friendly after the concert.
Eric Rider (SoulRider.222)
I was visiting my father in Evergreen in 2017 and he stressed the importance of seeing this area of natural wonder. I'm not writing a huge paragraph why you should see it too. If a father urges you to do something, he probably knows what he's talking about!
Anastasiia Panchoshna
I really want to attend a concert in this place 😍
Highly recommend to hike there. The park is amazing. …
Ben V8
Breathtaking !
No words strong enough to describe how beautiful the place is and how awesome the sound is !
And the organization during events is perfect !
Jeff Grimes
Best outdoor concert venue I have ever visited. Make sure to get there early so you can secure a seat. Also, you will need to have an exit strategy as the ride share situation after the show is a disaster.
Renée Ravazzani
Love it!
Went to see a band I didn't even know. But they were amazing and the place has it magics. Totally recomend it to go when you are around.
Will ned a car to drive or research about shuttles
Mariana Gloria
Pretty cool! I went during the day to take pictures and walk around for a bit. Bring something to eat and drink, and don't forget to wear comfy clothes and sunscreen!
Molly Detwiler
Beautiful view in mountains. Concerts every night during the summer. Yoga classes in the morning. Hiking and walking trails.
Joshua K
One of the best venues for a concert. Download the app to order your drinks. We ordered, paid, and walked right up to the mobile pickup counter and got our drinks while everyone else sat in line.
The seating is easy to get to and there really isn’t a bad seat in the house.
The only downside is if you park in one of the 2 lower lots it is about a half mile hike uphill.
John Ecklu
Lovely views! A good choice if you’re looking to do a half day trip from the Denver/ Boulder area.
Craig Sigmon
The concert was great! The prices are expensive like any other venue.
The worst part of the experience was the shuttles for people. The concert was sold out well in advance and the shuttle system seemed broken. Took 35 minutes to get a shuttle to our location after the previous shuttle took concert goers up. One van shuttle sit up the hill from us for 20 of those minutes doing nothing at all. Just sitting there. Some folks walked up to it and asked if it could take them up and it said not at this time. Made me feel like Redrocks had never had a sold out concert before. They need to work on the shuttle system. People that really needed the shuttle had to wait a long time for it to come around.
We were there 13 minutes after the gates opened and were 15 minutes late for the venue. Second time we've been there, First time disappointed with the facility.
Amy Sirmons
Absolutely phenomenal place! So much to see and do! Can’t wait to catch a show there.
scott siebert
The greatest outdoor music venue. Tedeschi Trucks band are best touring band fantastic two nights
Adam C.
Great venue!!! This is a bucket list location if you like live music. I traveled from Iowa to Morrison, CO to see a show and it was absolutely worth the trip. Looking forward to the next opportunity to return.
1 BAS
Magical place!! One of the best venues for music I've ever been to! Pictures are from Glass Animals June 14th 2023
AhhhhhMazing!!
Justin Welsch
Very beautiful but had an issue visiting due to an event starting 2 hours earlier than expected. We did not visit the inside of the amphitheater but we did see the surrounding area. WARNING: Call ahead of time to make sure they are allowing guests or visitors to just explore as hours differ each day. I love the rocks and beautiful outlook.
Metal Maniac
Wow! Such an amazing view! They have a free museum to check out what bands have played over the years! Wild life running around outside. Great views
heather crates
Thank you for the wonderful time at the concert! & then I left my phone at the visiting 🙃 building to use the restroom thank you for keeping it safe! All of the staff at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater! Such a wonderful concert and new music too! …
Trina Putnam
Amazing!! Beautiful views. Would like to go back for a concert - must be fabulous.
Ayana Austin-Depay
Definitely a place that you have to visit if you are in Colorado! I did a small hike (for the first time). It is not a far drive out from Denver but being outdoors and seeing the vast open outdoor space was memorable!
Keon Hines
The Red Rocks trail will forever be remembered in my heart. The scenery was fantastic and beautiful. Breathing in the fresh air and seeing things from afar was an amazing thing to see. Recommend bringing water, shades, comfortable shoes, sunscreen and a hat. Not sure how long the trail is but to a man from FL it felt like 10+ miles. It gave me the opportunity to just take in the beauty around me and reflect on life. I didn't see any rattlesnakes but that doesn't mean my mind didn't tell me there were some around as I scurried through the path any time I heard a foreign noise 😂. I can't wait to visit again maybe next time I'll bring a bike.
John Cardinale
Wow. Very wow.
One of the best venues I have ever seen.
Go early and check out the park!
Be prepared to walk at high elevation, which can be hard for some. Cool food section at the top of the venue. Some nice towns nearby for a nice meal as well. And they have some great bands come to play here.
Lucky Luksika
Last night was my first time at Red Rock concert and falling in love with this place! I would come here to watch any kind of show here. This place is such a neat and huge nature amphitheater I have never been experiencing before. The stage in the middle which you can see the scenery of Denver light at night on the side. It has about 10,000 seats but I bet it can be handled more than that. This concert was well organized. Very remarkable!
Matthew Simberg
Words can't accurately describe an experience or view of this place. It's like trying to describe the Grand Canyon to someone or Meow Wolf. You have to just experience it!
Mel Wade
This is the first hike I’ve taken in Denver. I would say the wind was brutal (a rare case I hear) but the hike itself was manageable. Drink lots and lots of water and take breaks when you need them if you’re a beginner. I have no regrets, not one! I’ll show a few photos so you can understand why.
Let's Eat Houston
Beautiful amphitheater. Great place to get a good hike, learn about the rich history of its construction and the legendary musicians that played here, and enjoy the natural beauty of the Rockies.
Md Moniruzzaman
This is an amazing place. The amphitheater is huge. You need to visit this place to experience the beauty of it. Its unexplainable. Its a super windy terrace and be prepared to be blown away both metaphorically & literally. 😄 …
Brandina Perez
This was my first event at Red Rocks Amphitheater and I loved it. The scene is beautiful and the sound is awesome. Parking is basic, a dirt lot and packed, however leaving wasn't as bad as I assumed it would be. There's a good amount of stairs but it's worth the experience. The restrooms were clean and comfortable to use, including the all inclusive one. It has doors from floor to ceiling for privacy. The venue has good options for food and is a worthwhile location for a great experience.
Aishwarya Nagarajan
A very unique place and a must visit. Come prepared with water and hats. The whole place has enough parking space and loads of trails to walk.
Caryn Woodward
Lord Huron concert 6/2. Fantastic setting, great acoustics! Tons o' fun for an older mom with her daughter!
Tailgating beforehand, part of the total experience!
Briana Howard
The environment was so beautiful. There was so many people doing so many different things. They serve food and drinks, which I'm thankful for since it's really hot in the daytime. Everybody was so nice. There's so many great backdrops, you can take pictures from anywhere, any angle and they'll come out great.
Namrata Sengupta
It was an amazing experience to see the sunrise at Red Rocks amphitheater. Thanks to my friend who suggested me to go there. The rocks turned red as the sun came.
Pete Westervelt
Totally amazing bucket list place. Be prepared to potentially be cold. We saw Wilco and all was amazing. The wind was crazy and cold. Had to buy overpriced ugly RR sweatshirts but we were happy to
Deon Henderson
Red rocks is one of my favorite places!
It's close to home, and absolutely beautiful. Always a must see. The amphitheater is fun to see and the hiking trails are beautiful. The nearby town is cute and has lots to see
Scott Sumner
Every concert at Red Rocks is a night not to be forgotten! I've seen everybody from the Kinks to Cheap trick to The Boss! I remember them all like it was yesterday.
Victoria S.
I hadn't been to the park since I was a teenager, long ago. It has such a natural beauty and tons of trails to walk. Great place to explore.
Sam Thomas
It's not only a wonderful Amphitheater, but also a place to explore nature's beauty too. The events in the amphitheater are always a beautiful experience. More than that, the hiking trails are also very beautiful. If you would like to store these wonderful moments forever, don't forget to take your camera too, it's worth it. Also don't forget to visit the 'Colorado Music Hall of Fame'
Wade DeAngelis
There's a drive fairly close to the amphitheater. Then a pretty steep long ramp into the actual venue. While it's handicap accessible I don't know if I'd call it friendly in the way it's built. Maybe venue staff make up for that, I don't know personally.
There's a lower deck for the handicapped right up next to the stage. Arguably the best seating for the Denver skyline is upwards or mid in the stands. I only saw stairs for those and they're very steep.

Overall:
Absolutely gorgeous venue sat in a cradle of Aztec sandstone. The wind wasn't bad when I went even though it was chilly. The concessions are at a premium but not so much that they are unaffordable. The acoustics are fabulous for an intimate experience of the locals' vast passion for music.
I had a great time and can't wait to see it during the next season.
Karen Bruce
I really don't get the hype of this place, I understand if your going to a concert or a show or to do some of the trails that's around it but just to check it out i feel like it was a waste of time. They do have store but it was a bit on the expensive side.
Sanchit Batra
Absolutely gorgeous sunrise, can't wait to see a show here someday!
B Currie
Best live music venue in the country. Unbeatable scenery and acoustics. Great amenities, well managed and facilities run by some very friendly folks.
Natalie Kemp
Beautiful! Enjoyed hiking from the trading post. Although it is an out and back. Down hill on the way out and all up hill when you turn around.
Rachel Atkins
There’s no other place like it! From the beautiful natural rock formations to extensive views, this is a one-of-a-kind experience. We attended Reggae on the Rocks, a reggae festival, that had the best vibes. Perfect weather, great atmosphere, there’s absolutely nothing to complain about!
Donna Ibbott
Can’t afford tickets to anyone I would like to see but walked around the amphitheater and visitor center one morning. Time well spent.
Eric L
Excellent place to rock out! There are several places to hike around the rocks.
The restaurant was good with great service & the prices were surprisingly reasonable.
Eric Merten
Super cool amphitheater. Would love to have seen john denver sing rocky mountain high there. The views are really cool - can see Denver high rises in the distance. There's an easy walk up from the parking areas to the amphitheater. Met a family from Florida that said they were struggling with the elevation, but they were the exception.
Hope to see a concert there someday.
gunjita joshi
Beautiful natural acoustic amphitheater for live concerts in Colorado. Do visit thus on your trip.
Jerry Cannon
This is one of the most incredible venues in the world. I've seen many shows here, both concerts and comedy shows (STS9, Lotus, Wu Tang, Method Man & Red Man, Wiz Khalifa, Shpongle, Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr, and more). Still, I always find myself in awe of how magical this venue is. If you haven't been to Red Rocks, it's even worth traveling across the country for. Treat yourself to a live show in a natural amphitheater. Live a little.
Some advice: Parking isn’t always the quickest for larger shows so plan to arrive about an hour before showtime to get in early enough. There is a bit of a hike up several stairways to get to the venue so bring closed-toe shoes. It does get quite cold at night even in the summer so it’s smart to bring extra layers. Also, If you plan on having some drinks or smoking… have a designated driver and write down which lot you parked in.

I had never done yoga before but when I saw they offer it here I HAD to do it!!! Amazing first time experience

A lovely hiking trail that showcases the violent movements the earth sometimes makes. Never hiked anyplace like it. It is a decent sized trail and has lots of inclines. Great workout and a pleasure to see. Events are also held here.
Evan McLean
This place is great to visit even without a concert. Some beautiful views and hikes around that are definitely worhmth visiting.
J Cole
Awesome place, I haven't seen a concert here before but will for sure be back in the future. Great place to hike around and see. The visitor center is awesome too with lots of information about the history of the park and construction of the seating and stage into the natural landscape.
Ashley Pete
I absolutely adore this venue, you can't beat the views and the vibes. I park in the south upper lot personally, it's easier to get into the venue. They even have water fountains which are a perk. Sound quality is not all there but what do you expect with an outdoor venue. Highly recommend the atmosphere is wonderful. Check out the museum up top it's so fascinating!
Jessica Thor
Totally sublime, love the dry air and the bright red and dark oranges of the surrounding rocks. Overall very clean. I wish I could have seen a performance there. Food and drinks were pricey but that's modern now.
Phil Dempsey
You have to witness this place in person. Absolutely beautiful. We could spend a week staring and exploring. If you are in Denver, you have to come here.
Kuei-Da Liao
It was distant from downtown Denver and public transportation was limited, so you’d better drive or share ride to here. The magnificence of the amphitheater was just beyond the words— you couldn’t imagine how they built such gigantic structure up here. The view was great, and you’d find groups of people doing body training in day time.
Robin Maleche
Able to take in awesome views of sandstone rocks with the Denver skyline in the background as you go walk, run or bike through the trails around the inset amphitheater. There is also a cute Music Hall of Fame that also sells souvenirs (as you would expect). Entry was free for all activities when we went there on a Sunday.
Ashley Romnosky
Gorgeous. Amazing what nature can make for us to enjoy. This iconic spot is worth the visit, even more so if you're able to catch a shoe in the naturally acoustic surrounding. Beautiful views and interesting visitor center with good history

It’s magical. It’s amazing. It’s like no other place. The only thing that even comes close is the Amphitheater in George, Washington. I highly recommend seeing a concert here even if it’s not a band or event you may otherwise attend. My only recommendation is that you consider parking and ask staff for shuttle information.
Tiffany Hill
Came here toward the end of a 10 day trip around Colorado, and decided to hit the Red Rocks Park and theater. Pleasant treat. A little something for everyone. Park entry is free and live music plays 10:30-2:30 daily. There are hike trails or just views. I will be honest, on All Trails some are marked easy, but I would consider them more moderate depending on if you are a regular hiker or not. There are also water and beer for purchase and toilets! Come for exercise, to run the steps, or just explore.
Juliette Lawrence
Such a great venue, I can't express how amazing it is to see a concert here. Delicious food, friendly vendors. However the walk up is quite a trek and be prepared to shell out quite a bit on drinks and food!
Waverly Stevens
Amazing venue. Love the beauty surrounding it. Acoustics are amazing especially for a natural auditorium. Lots of food and drinks, reasonably priced for a concert. Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit killed it and you can hear them so well! 😎 …

Awesome scenery! Nice little shop too but the water prices are as high as the airport..

Red rocks is one of the good place in Colorado Denver to be seen,it’s not so far from my home,we usually go there, clear and shiny environment attracts people towards Red Rocks ❤️
Aaron Feng
This is a very magical place, with red stone and peculiarly shaped peaks, marveling at the magic of nature, it is worth visiting!
Alain F
Wish I could’ve come for a concert but unfortunately our visit had to be short as there were many things to do on this trip. But nonetheless, this place is beautiful and the views are one of a kind from an amphitheater.
Edin Curt (Eddie4)
First time here. The views are amazing, whether you’re in row 15 or row 70. Parking is a bit hectic.
Katie Dube
Very close to being the most awesome outdoor space I've ever seen! I love the camps at the CCC built. One of the greatest things our country ever did! Nice museum, trails and history! Don't forget the Trading Post.
Laura Martinez
The Head and the Heart put on an awesome show!!! What a night!! And staff at red rocks always the most friendly and attentive.
Mikah Hillman
Possibly the most amazing place on the planet. After a walk up the mountains you reach the most beautiful amphitheater ever (Picture included). Prepare for an existential experience.
Kayla Goldstein
The show was amazing! However we got there at a reasonable time and there was nowhere to sit and people didnt stand up until the openers were done and it was almost like they oversold tickets. I really would have liked if the number of tickets sold made it not so overflowing and took into account that people dont squish together when they sit down and spread out a bit. Overall still an amazing experience.
Emily N
An amazing park and venue! It’s open to the public so you can park and walk around to see everything. A great view of the skyline as well
Amanda Heironimus
The amphitheater was beautiful. It is now on my bucket list to come back. The hiking trails were wonderful and easy to walk. We were even able to walk to downtown Morrison from the end of one of our trails.
Bill Sorensen
No words, pictures, or videos can capture the magic of this place. Take your time on the stairs if you're visiting from sea level and bring a sweatshirt!
James Hope
Absolutely the most AMAZING concert venue! The atmosphere... the positive energy, the "vibe" is unlike anything or anywhere I've ever been or felt...! WOW...! Make it a bucket list thing... or JUST GET THERE!
hippie.murse
Dude! Wow! All of the years of hearing how awesome this place is…. It did not disappoint! Facility and music were fantastic!
Shawn Hensley
Red Rocks is one of the premiere amphitheater's in Colorado and the country, and it's easy to see why. The venue takes advantage of the beautiful red rock natural landscape and is designed to integrate history, people, sound, and performance.
The stadium is steeper than your typical amphitheater which makes for great stage optics no matter your seat and provides a nice calf workout when traveling to concessions or facilities ;)
Acoustics are especially good because the sound reverberates off the massive red rocks on each side of the theater. I recommend taking friends and family here for a visit even if you can't make it to a show - the vista and museum are worth the trip alone!
Gabrielle S
One of the greatest places to see your favorite artist! Also.. if you're in GA (general admission) your seat number doesn't matter. No one cares.
Kevin Schmieder
Everyone does the central valley trail, which is great, but I recommend getting out to the loop trail as it has amazing views and no crowds. It was a great hike and pretty easy up and down
Isaac Collins
Red rocks is a wonderful concert venue and if you've never been you need to, you will never regret it
Larbi Mouedden
Loved it. We didnt attend an event. Just visited during day time. it was fun watching people running along the stairs. My kids and I did squats and push ups on every step on the way up from the bottom to the top.
I was impressed by the entire facility from the parking to the museum. It was too hot so we skipped the walking trails that goes around the rocks.
Britney Fuqua
If you are going to see a concert this is definitely the place to do it. Be prepared to walk up some stairs and be prepared to see deer, there is wild life everywhere. This area is also amazing for hikes as well!
James Reeves
Really nice place here. Would be cool to come to a concert. Lots of steps
Andy Bettner
Great place to visit! Great scenery. Wether a day trip, or a evening concert! Beautiful!
Stevesdayoff
Red Rocks is always a beautiful place to see during the summer winter spring fall doesn't matter it's a great place to hike
Sara Izad
Such a cool place! It’s free to explore and great workout! The amphitheater closes earlier on days that they have events so check it out ahead of time. We did couple of trails and they were fun and scenic.
Healing Room
Amazing... Amazing... Amazing experience. It was a Tribal Beats and Dirty Heads concert. High vibrations everywhere. The people were so chill. Super friendly. No drama at all...
Sound is like nothing Ive ever heard, really incredible. Clean place... Long walk up and stairs to climb, be aware. Can drink before in parking lot (unsure if you can take your own in).. Breathtaking views!! Parking was a breeze with the awesome staff guiding everyone in. They made sure not to allow anyone to block us in.
Awesome experience!!! I would highly recommend this venue.
Matar Emanuel
Beautiful park and amphitheater! The acoustics and views are unlike any other place.
In my Opinion
Stephen King found inspiration here.. what more is there to say. Beautiful hotel and grounds.
Andrew
One of the best outdoor amphitheaters you can go to. Great acoustics and sound, beautiful views, and plenty of seats available. Can't go wrong here
Heather Nicole
You don’t know the true meaning and feeling of the word breathtaking until you visit this place and literally it’s the first word that comes out of your mouth! Absolutely amazing place to visit even if you don’t have a concert to go to!
Aaron Tokarski
Seeing a concert at Red Rocks has long been on my bucket list...and it did not disappoint. Truly an epic open-air venue nestled in the rocks of Red Rock Park overlooking Morrison, CO. Easy access, tons of free(!) parking and 360° of stunning scenery. If only I lived closer...
Ericka Porter
Very beautiful park! Visiting from KCMO and was excited to go to the mountains. Parking a little confusing. Definitely would return though
Taylor G
Amazing sunrises, mind blowing venue for music, fun little history museum/trading post and some beautiful trails! Beyond grateful for this place
James Moser
Between the geological history and the music and musicians that played here there was a lot of history to appreciate. It was free to walk around and look at the amphitheater and go into the museum. It would be amazing to hear a concert here.
Mark Harris
Awesome! It is not the easiest to access for those with difficulties but worth the time and effort. The sound is fantastic, the sights are amazing. Definitely one of the nicest amphitheaters I have been in over the years. Make sure you have plenty of space on your SD card or LOTS of film!
kara dishman
My favorite place to see a show on Earth! Wear comfy shoes, bring a picnic, sealed plastic non alcoholic beverages and food are welcome. Also a great spot for a hike anytime!
Roy Hawblitzel
What am AWESOME venue to see a show. Will definitely be back several times..
Ghostyy xo
Absolutely amazing! Went in the early morning for sunrise, and went to a conert that night. Definitely a must see, and you must attend a show here!!
Ashley Johnson
Disappointed. Going to a concert at Red Rocks has always been a bucket list item. We had General Admission seats (and assumed the entire concert was GA). Right before the headliner started, we got kicked out of our seats. We couldn’t find another place to sit in the entire amphitheater without getting constantly yelled at by security for having our feet in a fire lane. The same worker that yelled at us multiple times was standing in the same fire lane smoking multiple cigarettes… Make it make sense. There are designated smoking areas and the main staircase next to the seats is not one of them. They wanted people to stand in the outer staircases where your view is blocked. Red Rocks had to have over sold general admission seats by the 100s. It was extremely disappointing and leaves a sour taste in my mouth about the venue.
andrew iacuzzo
Saw Sullivan King as my first Edm show and boy he did not disappoint! The music quality was incredible, the venue gorgeous, and sunset was spectacular!
Grace Perez
This is one of the most iconic, beautiful and peaceful places I have visited in Colorado. The view says it all!
sumalatha mamilla
Nice place for trials and hangouts. climbing the amphitheater steps would give good work out
Carrie Wolford
Open to the public and FREE to visit early in the day even if there is an event later in the evening. Tedeschi Trucks had a show the day we were there. I wasn’t familiar with them before this little adventure. Their crew was setting up the stage and doing sound checks. Take ear protection for this if you have small children. There was a band playing on a back stage at the top of the amphitheater. There was a beer garden with a lot of people hanging out. There is a museum that is also free. The bathrooms were limited since the main ones were closed off for the concert preparation but they were nice and clean. There is a gift shop if that interests you.
Justin Reeder
Excellent place to see bands, watch movies or even do yoga. We always have such a great time here. It is the best venue!
Probal Rahman
Unbelievably great experience. Please attend a concert here. Highlight of the Colorado trip!
Camille Teel-Costello
What a brilliant, beautiful park and amphitheater! Huge red rocks propelling from earth, clear skies and a hidden treasure 😍 …
Boost Fiend
What more can you say, it's Red Rocks! Great venue, beautiful views, historic place to see a concert.
Mike Clark
Best sound and venue anywhere. Beautiful views. The venue does not accept cash bring a different form of payment.and comfortable shoes. Stairs are involved to get into venue. Music stops at 11pm per city ordinance. Definitely put on your to do list
B Bb
Great venue actually I think it's easy to say it's the best venue I have ever been to. Not a long line to get drinks (red bull was like 4.25 a can so can't really beat that.) They also allow bringing in your own empty water bottle which you can conveniently refill at one of the refill stations. There were short lines for drinks, refilling, and the restrooms. Fans were nice staff was attentive and seemed into the show as well. It was an amazing experience one of the best I have ever had going to a show!
Mike B
Very nice place just bring a good pair of shoes there's a lot of walking.
Midori Bolduc
I've been holding off on going here for years and it was worth the wait. Great sound and visuals. The big benches work really well and give everyone space. An experience I am grateful to have under my belt.
Tristan Ruzich
South Park Anniversary Concert was my Honeymoon trip !! So beautiful amazing time 1000/10
C C
Very cool museum! Saw the names of my favorite artists on their walls. Learned. Few things while there including the heights of the mountains, history of red rocks, + rattlesnake information. Went on the trail afterwards!
Janet Lawton
The perfect place to see a concert. The acoustics are incredible and the view is amazing!
Eric Andrews
Red rocks is, hands down, the best place on the planet to see your favorite musician! (It even makes bad bands sound great! No bad shows at Red Rocks
bobby price
Visiting Red Rocks amphitheater was a last minute decision. Headed there without a plan. We arrived about 4:30 pm knowing there was a concert at 8. We didn't get to see the seat side because our access was limited due to the concert. We did have access to the dinosaur ridge. Got some decent pics. Encountered a couple that a said they arrived at 3:30 pm and accessed was already limited due to concert. The amphitheater and the ridge overlook probably doesn't need more than an hour or two to see without rushing at all. Guessing there's trails and more there too.
B Sewell
This is my favorite large venue to see a concert. Incredible location and great accoustics
Rick Louie
Best concert venue! Great sound, open air, incredible natural scenery, great bands!
Maria Wallace
Amazing views, tons of things to check out, and has a food spot!
chad tassin
A one of a kind concert experience. Stop by during the day for lunch and the sights. Stay to evening for a symphony under the stars.
j Nunley
Bucket list must for anyone into music and sound. Saw 311 here and was blown away by the sound quality. The atmosphere speaks for itself. Wait for your favorite band, go and be amazed. 11 out of 10 stars.
Theirs definitely goes to 11.
Francis Angelone
You can drive to the amphitheater at the top or take a fitness challenge and hike your way up. Make sure to pack water!
Thomas Carlo
Absolutely loved this place! Was really blown away by the beauty. The museum was unbelievable, so much detail. Check that off the bucket list!
Zachry Douglas
The most magical venue in the states. I'd say the world but I haven't been to many places overseas, but this is the mecca for live music for me. The rocks, the energy, the vibe, it heals whatever is aching in you. For the time you're there, you forget about everything. A life changing place.
Gayfee Garcia
The most beautiful venue! Everyone needs to watch a show here at least once in their life. Wear comfortable shoes, there is a lot of walking and stairs. You can pre-order drinks and food in an app so you don't have to wait in long lines. Amazing view. Sound is great but better if you have lower level seats. I recommend going early and tail gating. When doors open, the wait is pretty long to get into the venue. You want to get in early so you can see the view during the day. It's pretty at night too, but you have experience the view when light is still out. There's shops, and hiking you can do before doors open and portable bathrooms. Multiple different parking lots and bathrooms.
luna1732
Dope amphitheatre in the red rocks had the privilege of touring there rock n roll hall of fame over all stunning experience with the most gorgeous views Colorado has to offer.
Christopher Eu
This place rocks. Literally. It rained like crazy but Tedeschi Trucks put on an incredible show and were completely mesmerizing. Absolutely top notch venue, the bathrooms were clean, stewards were firm but professional and concessions were semi-affordable, which is saying a lot. Come early, tailgate, grab a good spot (its all GA i think) and enjoy the show.
Eddy Westmoreland
I wish I could give it 10 stars! It's totally worth the hike up!! Saw Jackson Browne and he was amazing ❤❤
Janice Sellers-Geiger
Beautiful destination for touristy site. View and musical history of bands in the past who have played there.
Missy McFadden
Drove 1400 miles to get here - was worth every minute. Best venue I’ve ever been to in my life. Sound is incredible. Video displays are the clearest I’ve ever seen. Views are unbelievable. Employees were all super nice and helpful. But back to the sound - there’s nothing else like it in the world
Robert Reinhold
One of the best venues for a live show/concert, definitely a bucket list-type place to visit.
Samantha Kinzig
Well if you haven't been to Red Rocks for a concert then you haven't lived! This is a must if you are a Colorado native and if you are visiting, this place is amazing!
Cheyanne Farr
This was an awesome park to visit, with many walking trails and lots of parking! There are many porta potties available. The downside for me was accessing the amphitheater was cutoff at 1:45, as it closes at 2pm, which is very early! The attendant was also not friendly, and another guest was asking why they stop allowing people in 15 minutes before close and he was very rude to her and short.
CeCe Altenhofen
Such an incredibly beautiful venue. The view is amazing and such a stunning place to listen to a concert
Nicole Lankford
Breathtaking views from any angle. I will be back to see a concert one day.
russell kauhl
Great park and music museum! Can't wait to see a concert here!
Emily Santos
A few things I learned:
1. The later you get there the longer the walk will be from your car and if you aren’t used to the elevation it’s not an easy walk!
2. The temperature is going to drop so bring a hoodie
3. Wear comfortable shoes because it’s also a hike to the bathroom
Crowbird
Best outdoor venue on Planet A! Don’t pass up an opportunity to see a show here.
Ileanna Lopez
Went to a DJ concert to have the experience of the sound, in a lovely night. I was in town for a few days, if you can, do it!!
Awulfz
Watched porter Robinson perfom live and did some hiking, one of the coolest places I have ever been. I would go again and again please visit if you get the time to do so
