Reviews of Francis Marion National Forest
Ryan Biddulph
My wife and I visited during the comfortable spring months. Definitely praying your bug spray during more hot and humid summer months.
Hiking is easy as the paths are completely flat. Boots or hiking shoes are a must when the spring and summer rains arrive as flooding is common.
We hiked a number of trails on both the east and west sections of the park. If you want a true swamp feel you definitely need to hike the east end of the park.
Steve O'shields
Nice place and has some neat items. Did my son’s diploma frame and it turned out great. Always stop in when we in Clemson.
Jared Nisen
Better for the older kids. Lots of great hikes. Can get pretty buggy. Signage could be improved. Beautiful sights and sounds to explore.
S Case
We're new to the area and love to hike these endless trails! We've done quite a bit of scouting, may hunt this season, time permitting. Definitely next year!
Stacey Laine
Interesting place biting bugs are absolutely horrible be prepared for that. The parking areas and boat landings are infested with over partier humans that leave trash , needles ,alcohol bottles and cans. If you can get far enough away from that you can find some joy in nature.
Joshua Humble
My wife and I love it!!! Super clean, quiet area, perfect place to get away from a busy life. Doesn't get much traffic during off hunting season.
Shelley Pierce
Beautiful trail! Well kept and about halfway through, you hit the waterways where you get the most gorgeous view of Charleston. It's amazing when you just stand in silence and listen to the pine trees creak as they sway back and forth. We'll definitely be hiking this trail again, hopefully in its entirety.
Kyle Hodnett
I love running trails & the Palmetto trail (Swamp fox passage) offers plenty of track to follow. You'll run into plenty of water that's standing about ankle high. There's very little gain to speak of in this park but if you're in the area it's worth a go if you like nature. Found bear scat & saw a boar within the first mile from parking spot.
David Gainey
Wild and awesome place to hike (at the right time and the right place due to hunting). Between the snakes and feral pigs, it will definitely keep you on your toes. Also an incredible place to hunt. Do your part and help get rid of these feral pigs. They are amazingly destructive.
William Bamford
Wonderful place to take families and youth. Easily accessible and exciting to explore. We always have a wonderful time when we are able to explore either on our own or with the scouts.
Marie Thomas
The Francis marion forest covers so much area for our protection because it enables natural resources and beauty. Found a camping and boat landing and the palentto trail all in one place...
Sean Anderson
Always a great place to hike, and trails are all clearly marked. Lots of wildlife to see around every turn. Highly recommended.
Robert Andrews
I've only been on the Palmetto Trail, so my experience was limited. The trail was very narrow in some areas and was sometimes flooded. The surrounding forest is usually longleaf pine savanna. Overall, the area was good, but I didn't encounter anything spectacular.
Christian Pryer
Great trail, a bit muddy in places but worth it
Robert Sherman
Great hike both day and overnight. Not too far from "civilization". Easy trails for beginners.
Daniel Strickland
Nice camping. Some decent hiking trails. A few of the roads are pretty overgrown.
Brian wylie
It's a forest with a whole lotta swamp. Better bring your bug spray because the nats are fierce. One of the nicest gun ranges around at Twin Ponds. They have it staffed and have completely redone everything. No more appliances and TV's, you have to follow the rules and no you can't blow up tannerite or openly drink. All of which is probably a good thing!
There are a couple hidden spots around perfect to stop and take it all in. Plenty of trails and service roads to explore. Bring your own supplies as there is no real facilities.
Hellen Gable
Honey Hill Campground was small, relatively quiet and a great place to stay overnight.
Shelly Palomaki
Have only driven on 17 through Francis marion but I go to ion swamp trail in Francis marion and give it 4 stars . Lots of wild life there.nice hike through a swamp area.
benji widener
First place we have found that reminds us of being back home in the mountains in Virginia since we moved here beautiful place
John Taylor
Wear long pants and boots if you have them. I found quite a few ticks when I was done. Which wasn't suprising as the plants on the trail came up to the knees in some areas.
Ryan Wasson
Beautiful spot that offers free camping and alligator viewing. I found some of the most beautiful mossy oak trees in South Carolina down in Santee Coastal Reserve. Bring bug spray, it's serious down there.
Mariam Beloff
Other campers could have cleaned up after themselves. It took my bf and myself a minute to find a campsite with minimal trash but once we did we were very comfortable. For free, few bugs, and it was easy to park our car close to the site.
Joyce Barron
My son and I made a quick trip to the Charleston area and were delayed overnight. We had our pitbull and 250 pound mastiff with us. It's difficult to find tourist hotels that accept our dogs. I found a description of a free primitive campsite on the web. The directions were a little off and my 4wd jeep got stuck on one of the dirt roads canted at an angle. We were setting up camp when a truck full of citadel cadets came by and were happy to help a damsel in distress. They were on their way to help out friends who also got stuck. We had a great night camping and I had to force our dogs to get in the jeep the next day. On the way out we found the official campsite and the directions were wrong. Still it was a fun adventure
Matthew Wheeler
If you live in South Carolina, love exploring in the great outdoors, wanna take the bike/horse out or just wanna run, the Francis Marion National Forest is for you. A couple notes though. Parking is only in designated areas, trails aren’t what I would call “wide open.” Most have grass up to ankles or higher with brush on both sides(no asphalt walk paths). Terrain is super flat and very easy to walk. Will get muddy if you walk/hike right after a lot of rain though. If you have a horse there are tons of trials to ride on and even bike trails too. There’s a boat launch and rifle tangle as well. There’s over 250,000 acres of woods with over 150 miles of trails so I’m sure you will find something that suits your liking.
Ryan White
More of a question.. Is their a sector of forest without cellular service on the south eastern standard
laurel leach
As crowded as I feel Berkeley and Charleston County have gotten to be, you can always find solitude in the Francis Marion!
Angela McAbee
Beautiful National Forest area with diverse flora and fauna. Great hunting and fishing, access to the Palmetto trailhead, and a great place to hike. Don't forget your mosquito repellent!
SIDNEY ROGERS
A great place to spend a relaxing day with family and friends.
Dagster Blaster
Place is crawling with ticks and garbage from locals. I couldn't believe how disrespectful the local hunters were to their own forest. I picked up two full garbage bags of trash near my camp area while spending 4 nights there. My dog got hammered by at least 4 ticks. I was there for New Years Eve, weather and forest were otherwise pretty nice. I rode dirt bikes at Wambaw for 2 days as part of my stay.
griever noctis
Really beautiful place, spacious and a lot of nature trails, boating etc, the only complaint I had was the bathrooms are pretty effed up
Anthony Fanfan
So much to offer thats right at your back door. Was a great place for my wife and I to view the eclipse that wasn't crowded.
Dave
Some of the best camping in the area of eastern South Carolina
Christopher Canada
What a beautiful place. How could one not give this forest 5 stars. There are lots of trails, camp stations, 4-wheeler trails, and beautiful scenery.
Robin Bramlett
We stayed at Buck Hall. It is a nice, quiet park on the waterway. Good place to walk. Bath/Shower house is conveniently located to all RV sites.
Stephen Hawn
Buck Hall Campground is very nice, hard to get into. A little disappointed with their other campgrounds, but you can camp wherever you want with a permit.
Timothy Carter
Great place to hike and hunt
Scott Bundesen
Trail was in good condition but not marked to indicate which direction to walk. Very little wild life.
Brian Odgers
Always my favorite place to hike
Michael Jenkins
Great place to go off road!
droidkingz
Beware of Bigfoot. At least one lives in there. Below is my best witness rendition of the creature I witnessed while on route to the Nucor Steel plant to deliver some steel coils from Canada while doing long haul trucking in spring 2021. Beware the creature is real.
Craig B
I decided to do the trail early in the morning. It seemed like something out of a horror movie scene. Look like a great family outdoor hike. Enjoyed the walk the blank boards to get over water. Would recommend good comfortable hiking boots with a backpack with snacks and water. Reminded me of a daddy/daughter I had with my 8 year old. Meant for walking age children
Anthony Kozloski
Peaceful beautiful forest with lots of wildlife!!
Mary Brown
Pretty cool place check it out
Jean
Great place to visit for all ages! Love the wolves!
Shane Cushman
I'm a vet who loves solitude. This forest is beautiful and quiet. It's my go to when I can't sleep. "All those who wonder are not lost." Tolkien
Richard Carpenter
This place is great - went by the local ranger station and got a directions and a dispersed camping permit and ended up hiking on the Swamp Fox trail. Not the most scenic place in the world but the seclusion definitely made up for it. All in all the forest is huge, so you can definitely go back and hike several more times in different locations and see something new every time.
Ananda Renay
Miles and miles of beautiful trails. Very well kept. I've been playing a big park in helping to conserve the trails and reconstruct bridges through the Palmetto conservation Foundation (AmeriCorps). Highly recommend. Very historical. Old cypress trees reside here.
Palmetto Pet Family
Fun, Beautiful and Educational Place For The Whole Family!
David Shuler
Love the great outdoors.numerous places to fish, hunt, hike,& ride ATV'S...
Johns Mom
The ranger station is closed. Understandable, but should be reflected on websites. The drive to the building is blocked so you can’t even access the entrance to try and see if there are maps. Signage directs you to use an app. The app is terrible and does not indicate trailheads, descriptions of trails, and only shows details if you are on airplane mode. Airplane mode deactivates the GPS tracker to show you where you are so you can either have map details or location assistance.
I recommend knowing where you want to hike before coming. Do not rely on ranger station or app to be of any help.
RIKKI “KHAOS” ADAMS
I would live here if I could. Love, love, love this place. I camp here alot...if you pick the right spots you won't see another person for days. The side trails are not as traveled or groomed as the main trails. Side trails are your best bets to get away from people. Best part...its all free! Np entrance fees...no camping fees.
Charles Honaker
We found a hidden dispersed camping spot that was close to the trail we hiked. Primative camping is free in national forest. This one did require a free pass from the park ranger.
Great trail for biking or taking the kids for a hike. Bring plenty of water and bug spray. The ranger station has some very friendly staff and a few displays for the kids to look at. Stop in for a water refill, bathroom and some education on the Palmetto Trail that extends the entire state.
Gunther Bonsall
Beautiful National Forest with many different activities and trails, great place to bring your kids and or dogs.
John Thomas
The Francis Marion National Forest is beautiful such a wild Place very close to Charleston area. If you love nature fishing and hunting trail riding all sorts of outdoor activities this is it. A real wilderness. I would not recommend visiting here much in the summer time when it's hot the swamps and woods in the summertime it's not a very pleasant experience too many mosquitoes in horse flies and I won't even mention the snakes and alligators the foll and spring a great time to visit Francis Marion National.
Phil Warren
My favorite happy place anywhere. I have seen things in these woods that aren't supposed to be in them and have logged many hours exploring the swamps, bays, creeks and historical sites that predate the settlement of Charleston.
Mark Scharwenka
When you need to get out of town and sit in the sticks doing woodsy things. Huge National Forest with tons of activities for all interests and outdoor immersion levels. My only complaint is that the remote roads and trails attract lowlife scumbags who dump all sorts of trash, construction debris, house contents, etc. in the middle of nowhere which detracts from the the enjoyment of all. If you head out there do your part and try to carry out more than you carry in. We can't cure stupid but we can all do a little bit to make the woods a little bit better than when we arrived.
Shan Burkhalter
Always great photo opportunities in the Francis Marion
Mariann Choules
Sooo beautiful!! Wish there were more maps around and signs to point out where trails are though. Make sure to google a map of the place plus look up the trails on their website and save a pic for offline viewing before going.
Brian F
Great food. A lot of their food contains onions and if you dont like onions...downside are the bathrooms are outside. It is right across the way from some other great spots in the area such as the Francis Marion and the birds of prey. I would give a 4.5 if i could.
Dennis Lingerfelt
So to be fair to the rangers, we did go during eclipse day. We wanted to go somewhere natural and not jammed with people and noise. Three of us (one car) drove down from Raleigh-Durham. Ranger station was closed down with a gate out front (hey, I'm sure they wanted to watch the eclipse as well and didn't want 1000 people in their parking lot!), but there were no signs or maps at all to be seen most anywhere.
I've been to about a half dozen national forests this year, and all of them have little brown road signs and wooden sheltered maps all over the place for hiking trails, camping areas, and where to park and what to see -- not like the national parks where there are signs and exhibits everywhere, but enough that you can get around. The only map I saw was inside of the locked ranger station and nothing on the outside. And hint, hint -- there is no cell signal in the forest on three different carriers tested, and road atlases don't show things like hiking trails or picnic areas.
It was a very pretty area with nice wildflowers and trees and wetland. We just pulled down an access road and had the world to ourselves. Just could have used some maps and signage. If you're headed here, plan ahead for exact locations (including backup locations) and don't count on road signs, shelter signs, or GPS at all unless you have an offline GPS.
I'll visit again one day when not everybody on the continent is trying to cram into the Charleston area and update if things are easier to find.
David Swibaker
Love this place... Its so important to get out and explore what nature is all about. And this place is one of the best in my opinion... It has so much history jammed packed for your taking... The trails are awesome, camping there is awesome, and just being able to go to this forest is a blessing!!! If you haven't been you must go and see how amazing this place truly is!!!
Jason Ridge
What is there not to like? The epitome of South Carolina greatness! Vast wooded areas, trails to explore, an outdoor rifle range, and close boat landings all just a few minutes away from AMAZING shopping experiences in Mt. Pleasant and downtown Charleston.
Francisco Escobedo
Solid running trails outside of Charleston. Parking is a bit challenging, but if you're looking for a spot to get a long, uninterrupted run in (likely pretty muddy), then this is a pretty good option
Digital Blood
Huge national Forest. Hunting, camping, rifle range, plenty of hiking and biking trails. Beautiful scenery and plenty of wildlife. "2967 Steed Creek Rd, Huger, SC 29450" is the address for the main building, stop in and check it out, there is plenty to do and see.
Jason Murray
If you haven't spent a day just exploring the unpaved roads and trails with your 4x4, you need to. It's absolutely gorgeous and some areas have been completely untouched and make for a fun 4x4 experience.
Kimberly Reidell
It's an amazing place to visit. Our biggest issue for those of us that live out here are the ones that come out and go muddin'. They mess up our rds and go on private land and that is unacceptable.
Alicia Eatmon
It was wonderful! Birds were amazing and demostration was fabulous. Thanks Jessie!
Lizzie B
Hiked one of the trails amidst the Cypress and swamp. Great day in Feb to be out, no bugs, and we even saw a couple of Gators. The gravel road to the parking area was pretty rough, but the trail itself was well marked.
nathan rogers
Peacefully 41 runs through the forest to Charleston and it's so massive a lot runs threw it but I find myself sleepy and have to force my eyes open after I drive from Jamestown to Mt pleasant but that does not mean it's a boring place they have a lot of history, hunting , camping, atv trails, fishing just everything to do makes me proud to be so close to such a reserve! when driving threw keep your mind at full attention to your surroundings, a long straight highway can cause your eyes to be heavy!
Roy Knighton
I had a great time hunting dove. The weather was clear and a bit hot with a breeze would come every now and then. The doves were flying and everyone was able to shoot. I gun stayed hot all the I was there.
Micheal Knight
I didn't visit I always ride past. I would love
to go there I haven't been in since I was a kid
Sam Hagler
Loved the scenic, quiet drive with hardly any other cars on the road. Pulled my camper through here after leaving Myrtle Beach and I'm sure to do it again.
James “Jim” Miller
What a great National Forest! Tons of trails and diverse landscapes. Horseback only trails, hiking trails, biking trails, 2 public gun ranges, camping areas, bird watching areas, swamps, tons of wildlife... An adventure for all to undertake!
Michael Christopher
260 thousand acres of gorgeous low country forest featuring longleaf pine trees on sandy hills and pitcher plants in the bays and bogs. A must see for visitors new and old.
L R
I love going out into the woods to hike, bike, camp, and explore but with the amount of roqds closed and the current state of trails that is becoming harder and harder. The state needs to put money into the forest to maintain it, even if that means charging a fee to use it.
seth esrig
For hiking and mtn. biking near McClellanville, this is a grove, not a forest. There are no hills, no visible wildlife during daylight, and most of the southern Palmetto trail is just long arrow-straight sections. It is tranquil and well maintained.
Invent The Horizon
The most breathtaking area of the state I had the opportunity to visit. camping, kayaking, and visiting centuries old cemeteries are just a few of the ways to indulge mother nature in all her splendor.
Aaron Little
Lots of trails and land to explore. It's a National Forest, so no entry fees, gates, or permits. Not a lot of places to get trail maps, but the rangers are friendly and helpful. Just do your research online first as trails and roads can be hard to find. Verizon covers part of the forest but I wouldn't rely on it. T-Mobile failed us completely. Trash left by previous campers can be bad in spots that have easy access.
Christina Packard
Generally awesome to camp at Halfway Creek Trail Campground. There's lots to explore. The Seewee Visitors Center is always a good place to stop and check out. They have a small but really cool walk thru museum showing the native wildlife and a lot more. There's even a live Red Wolf enclosure there! Totally free too! There is also the cutest little country grocery store called The Corner Mart that has the best nachos. This trip wasn't as good as usual because some idiot ran his generator past quiet time at the campground. And you have to watch out for coyotes if you're camping. But I love it out here and will be coming back several times!
T.B. Driggers
This is an amazing Park with many trails to Hike, Rivers to Kayak, and ranges to shoot. If you love wildlife, nature and fresh air, this is defiantly the place to visit.
Kratos Renascitur
Trails need to be maintained slightly more often. There are constantly small trees that have fallen on the trail but rarely large trees. Very good place. Victim of the tragedy of the commons.
Charlie Chapman
Awesome , beautiful very simplistic. I found several pitcher plants growing wild in swamp I saw deer and wild turkeys it's a beautiful place and you need to come see it.
Kandy Craven
I actually live here and it is beautiful full of wildlife and an amazing trail that runs the whole length of the forest I live right near the trail head iv walked many walks down it and it as close as you can get to nature without camping
The Bros
Well worth the trip. The ranger was super nice and accommodating and gave us a tour that fit into our tight schedule.
He was super knowledgeable and just very cool to listen to. Great guy, great site, great place.
kim Purvis
Ok this one is a bit tricky. If you go to Santee park it's beautiful but the horse flies will attack you unmersifly. Fishing and camping with hiking. But we couldn't stay bc of the horse flies. Now elden park that is on the other side of the rd is beautiful also. Very quiet and just mosquitoes lol
Raymond Howell
Beautiful scenery great for the whole family . I mean the whole family and children of all ages would mainly . Nature is something to be enjoyed at our leisure like I said with the whole family including the kids will enjoy the most. There's always time or make the time.
Becki Cole
We (7 people) spent 7 hours over 3 days picking up litter and collected 75 large bags! People really should stop littering!
Michal Sesit
My husband and I rode around for hours and saw, maybe, 3 other cars the entire time. It was beautiful, quiet, and serene. A wonderful break from the bustle of Myrtle Beach.
Robby Bennett
Nature! Great place to enjoy the lowcountry in it's natural state. I enjoy riding bikes through the miles of gravel and lightly travelled paved roads.
Terry Bowen
This is a beautiful display of natures wonders wild turkey a black squirrel a few deer azaleas blooming. Spring is here a great place to take it in.
Clint Blunt
Not only do I get to live within the boundaries of the national forest, but I get to hike and bicycle through the miles of dirt and paved roadways throughout. I love it!!
Pattie Hannah
The trails a great place to imagine how the Indian lives was and the birthplace of America please take your dog with you and family
Joshua Feight
Beautiful natural resource. We need to conserve this treasure. There is no where else in the world with the habitat that we have in the lowcountry of SC. CAROLINA Bays, birds, swamps. Flora and fauna everywhere!
Ron M
So much to do and see. Something for everyone. The great outdoors just minutes north of Charleston. We are so fortunate to have this beautiful park nearby.
Hotfood Onaplate
Great spot lots of bugs.
Casey Salvador
Wish there were more road options to get to the rifle ranges because driving around Mt. Pleasant and up towards Myrtle Beach just to get to Twin Ponds Rifle Range is a long drive coming from Goose Creek, SC. Boggy Head Rifle Range is still long ways off past Monck's Corner either way. I've always prefer Twin Ponds Rifle Range.
Matt Cole
Awsome place to get away!
drew carter
Awesome National Forest with plenty to do for outdoor enthusiast. Plenty of camping and hiking opportunities, a shooting range, public hunting and fishing areas, and more.
Richard Richard
Nice and cool just road around stop and had lunch.😍😍😍😍 …
Elise Marie
If you drive from Charleston to Wilmington, this is a great way to stop and see various sites and parks along the way, many of which are free. We stopped about 5 times before we had to get on our way and there were more stops along the way that we didn't have time for!
Evan Cook
Great place to explore. Lots of trails, firebreaks, etc. Plenty of wildlife, lots of rare plants if you know where to look for them. Hike the Palmetto trail if you get the chance.
Nathan Stambaugh
Great winding roads with ample hiking trails. Near the center there is an interesting moat-like complex built amongst the marshes. Well worth the visit!
Paulee Lemmons
This National Forest has something for everyone. Camping sites from RV to tents. With a list of other items you can do here from hiking to a shooting range.
Jason C
Good free camping. There is however no running water even though it says on website there is. Please don't litter and no cutting down live trees.
Jeannine Clemens
Beautiful drive until people start constructing I73 right through the middle.
Larry Ashby
Disappointed that the boardwalk was in disrepair. Not much in the way of interpretive information on the mound or shell ring. Nice walk in the woods though. Mosquito repellent advised.
Terrence Zielinski
Great place to visit for peace and quiet. The trees are magnificent. Enjoy your time with nature!
Marj Conaway
Always good to get away into the forest and it's natural peacefulness. Just wish I'd been hiking!
Bala Ramesh
Best place to go to disconnect from technology
Mike Cox
Buck Hall boat landing is part of the National Forest accident ramp at low tide great place to go shrimping has a campground area also
Jay _duh
Soo beautiful if you love natural areas and bird watchers and fishers can see and do a lot. Even if you are just looking it's fun
Dale Taylor
I love being in the woods away from angry people. GOD made the forest for me. Don't get me wrong I AM NOT A TREE HUGGER. It's just peaceful
Horace Donnell
I like to fish in moving water and today was a great day of fishing for my wife and I, caught some nice bass.
Sudarshana Sharma
Today was a walk with a group, previously known as South Carolina Herpetological Society, and now as South Carolina reptile Conservation Society in Ion swamp trail in Francis Marion State Park. Ion swamp trail is picturesque at this time of the year, with very limited swarms of mosquitoes.
Bob markisello
A great place for cycling on or off road. I agree that better signage would help. But a little time with Google Maps makes navigating doable.
JoAnn P Butler
My notification is showing that I was at the Francis Marion National Park, I don't remember this recently, however, in the past the Gatherings and parties we had at the house sitting on the water and under the house was absolutely fantastic!!!!!!
Ty Bodiford
Great place but terrible roads and lots of dead trees over huge areas from recent forest fires. Used to see lots of wild life. Where did they go?
Ana Beatriz
Nice place to be around nature for a day or two.
Peter McDade (PeteJM)
Love hiking and visiting the different wildlife preserves. The plantations that are part of the Francis Marion reserve are amazing.
Christopher Paddock
Beautiful hike along the last segment of the palmetto trail. Fairly muddy so the pup liked it even more!
Philip/Mavis Wolfe
What's not to like? Lots of trees, beautiful vistas, well maintained roads, an abundance of wildlife. A good time for sure
Ed Lugo
Spent time at Twin Ponds Rifle Range. Beautiful well managed and clean. Great time had by all
Joey D
It would a much more enjoyable drive if wasn't for the 18 wheeler hauling logs and containers did not drive so fast!
Cedric Smith
If you are the type that like to take walks but not feel like you're actually hiking a mountain this place is perfect.
Kathy Swanson
Jericho horse trail is wonderful. Forest Service is doing a great job!! Off to a great start on setting up the trail head. Many thanks.
Rondal Ausdin
If you live in Charleston & travel to Myrtle Beach often; this route is a much more pleasant way to go, it also avoids Mt. Pleasant entirely & saves time.
Ryan Kinowski
A nice 2 mile walk through the old rice fields. Great time if year to go (mid January). No mosquitos!!!
Victoria Clark
Mediterranean Chicken was delicious! My husband had Short Ribs...awesome. good wine selection.
Sharon Elliott-Fox
Not marked in advance so had to do some back tracking but well maintained burial site.
Wayne Todd
We walked Awendaw Passage which is part of Palmetto Trail. Turned towards ocean on Rosa Green. Trail very pretty. Goes along Awendaw Creek.
Food Fox Kitchen
What a great place to catch the solar eclipse!
Justin Novello
Remote beautiful Forrest.
Mike Sferlazza
Great place to wander around when the weather is nice. Unless the mosquitos are out then it's not worth it.
Billie Cantwell
Love this area! Buck Hall was closed for camping as they are replacing the water lines. Hope its up and running soon.
Phillip Duff
The Francis Marion National Forest is located north of Charleston, South Carolina. It is named for revolutionary war hero Francis Marion, who was known to the British as the Swamp Fox. It lies entirely within the Middle Atlantic coastal forests ecoregion. The park is also entirely in the Subtropical coniferous forest
Suzanne Brown
Great kayaking spot
chris lynd
Tibwin trails, nice 2.5 mile hike with kids was perfect. Saw a momma gator and some babies.
Donnie Murphy
I work in the Francis marion forest on the roads making it accessible for the public and love the forest a beautiful place with great hiking trails visit it sometimes
Carolyn Moorer. Mead
It's the best place too go
The Huger State Park, Fishing. Very peaceful
Mike Steffensen
Full of mosquitoes lots and lots of them critters
Zommy NL
The forest is beautiful but it lacks any meaningful signs to point you in the direction of interesting spots to visit.
auriel mcconnell
Peace of mind is everything having access to everything is not always the best.
SCSpur SC
As a whole, the forest is enormous and too much to explore in maybe even a lifetime but there are tons of trails and sites in the forest to see. Signage could be replaced in some parts of the forest
bill hills
Roads in terrible condition. Woods burned excessively. Signs worn, broken or missing. Buildings in disrepair. USFS is not a good steward of OUR land.
Roy Cooke
Great place to explore but watch out for some really cool things like 5ft rattle snake when you are in the woods
Zack White
Very beautiful to drive around. So many back roads. Bugs can get bad if walking around.
Caitlynn Burgeson
Always have fun exploring different parts of the Francis Marion Forest! Lots to look at and several different trails to choose from.
Ramanda Nichols
Love subway always good to us. They just need to be better trained on wrapping and cutting a wrap.
mntbike loui
Not the best mountain biking, well marked tho, wish I coulda got farther. Very wet when it rains
Cody Loeb
Awesome spot. It was "full"'but everyone was courteous and respectful. It will be marked in the book as "places to stay on the road".
Tayla Beaufort
I went to go see the lights and it was awesome and got to roast marshmallows and got on rides , I would love to go back next year
Debbie Knebel
Fantastic ride from the Jerico Trail. Check out that review which is more in depth. Great trails
Keegan Hand
Its trees, it's possible wildlife, it has nature,l. What more do you want?
Missy Litchfield
Good life
Chase Horvath
Awesome and beautiful hikes close to town. Bugs are ferocious and the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
Vickie L. Demattio
