Reviews of Museum Campus
Paul Cleaveland
My wife and I had a fantastic time at the Field Museum. We were visiting Chicago and I insisted that we go here.
First, it is a massive place with a lot of exhibits to take in. I recommend getting there when they open so you can take in as much as possible over the course of the day. We arrived an hour after they opened and still did not get to see everything by the time the museum closed.
Seeing Sue the T-Rex was incredible. I did not imagine I would get the opportunity to visit and see Sue. She alone is worth the price of admission.
The main attraction I wanted to see were the fabled Lions of Tsabo. I had heard the story about these lions from a young age and really wanted to see them. I was utterly amazed at how well they have been preserved and attended.
When we visited (it has been a few years now), there was an Ancient Egypt exhibit that was such a treat. You can easily spend hours in this exhibit alone with all the things to see and facts to read up on. This was one of the last exhibits we went to and it ultimately ended up being the last one we would see. We easily spent 2+ hours.
The Field Museum is a must visit for anyone. We are looking forward to when we can take our son to visit Sue.
melanie rexroad
Field Museum was fun. The evolving earth, Sue, & the rest of the dinosaurs were the best part.
The staff was setting up for an evening event around 3:30-4 and we felt like we were in their way while navigating the museum the last hour. Having signs up stating that would happen would have been good. Maybe there were signs and we missed them —
Overall we had a great time.
Minerva McGonagall
We had only half a day here but our four year old and our 12 year old enjoyed it equally. We enjoyed it as well. Bathrooms were clean , they even had toddler areas with smaller toilets. We enjoyed all the exhibits and plan to return. It was nice to know ( even tho we could not use it because we are not Illinois residents) they have a free day. As for food , there were two cafeteria type places and we ate at the one in the second level. Food was expensive ($14 for a cheeseburger) but the double patty with all the fixins, was much much better than anticipated. We were pleased and plan to return and we're just discussing yearly passes or the like. A very good family trip. We spent about four hours exploring and agreed we could have stayed an entire day at the least.

It's such a big awesome place. I was worried my 3 and 6 year old wouldn't be interested enough but we were there from open to close and still didn't get through 3 exhibits. The kids loved it they just got too tired. One negative due to covid- all drink machines were down except energy drinks and Starbucks vending. So there was nothing for kids even the drinking fountains are off unless you have a bottle and I didn't know to bring one.
Brandon Scott
Shedd Aquarium is awesome. Fully worth a visit to Chicago. The Field Museum is massive. We spent over 1 hour in one exhibit area. There are 3 floors with multiple exhibitions on each floor, the smaller children (8y/o) wanted to go from point to point quickly while the older kids spent time reading the info plaques and watching the videos. It did get crowded in the Sue exhibit, as well as within the Ancient Americas exhibit. The staff were energetic and engaging, and answered my silly questions with science and humor.
Even if one were outside of the buildings, the grounds are well manicured and clean. There are gardens and orchards to visit. The lake front walkway offers nice views of the lake, the museums' impressive exteriors and the city skyline.
K.K.
I’ve grown up coming here and I’m not too young anymore. You can definitely spend several hours here very easily. We did and didn’t stop to read everything they had posted all over. The Jurassic Underwater Exhibition was good too. Seeing these animals in life size display was awesome.
Melinda Heath
This place is awesome 👌 the dolphins are so neat to watch plus the show is free!! The amount of different species of fish is surreal. We spent most of the day there and didn't see everything. The food court was pretty great, a lot of choices. AND the views of the lake! Even frozen it was beautiful 😍
Arlene Wagner
One of the most amazing aquariums out there! Definitely spend most of your day here to explore. Amazing specimens here and some of the fish are the largest I've seen of their species. I would come back again!
Geof Vallier
We spent around 6 hours and only saw approximately 30 percent of the exhibits. First time we were lucky enough to experience the massive amount of informative and wonderful cultivated exhibits. Staff is courteous and informative. Highly recommend the city pass if you decide to take in some of the wonderful and amazing sights Chicago has to offer.
Muhammad Ahmad Rathore (Ahmad)
It's an amazing museum. There are a large number of animals from current and pre-historic times. We avail the free Illinois residents pass for family. One advise is to get book parking in advance or come by public transport. It can take more than 3 hours to complete.
Ana K Arceo
We loved it, we had kids from 3 to 10 yo and they all had fun and enjoyed the aquarium.
But the annual pass, it's totally worth it, otherwise tickets are expensive, with pass you also get discounts at the gift shop and other activities inside the aquarium.
Tip: even with the annual pass you have to reserve tickets in advanced.
Punit Omar
Superb place to get a glance of various aspects of science, history, civilization, art, craft, sculpture, diamonds and a lot more. You should surely visit this place with your whole family in your next visit to Chicago downtown. Tickets are obviously absurd priced for the experience it offers, but you can grab a comparatively better deal on general admission ticket via Go Chicago pass or City Pass etc. Few more deals are available on Groupon. Overall very friendly staff that you'll surely appreciate. I saw Chinese gallery and it was great. Parking is very very expensive around this place. It can easily go up to $50-$60 for 4 hrs, or perhaps even more.
Tony
It was a Monday afternoon at the start of winter break. We thought it would be packed. It was not. Masks were required. Really enjoyed seeing Sue. Walked through all exhibits included with general admission. Took is about 4 hours, but you could easily spend more time if you pay for admission into the extra sections. Such a great experience. I think I enjoyed it just as much, if not more, than my eleven year old.
Vincent Randy Heslop
Really enjoyed this area. Great walk along Lake Michigan to get here. Aquarium, Field Museum, observatory and Solider Field all closely located and easy to walk to. FOLLOW ME for more great recommendations as I travel the world.
nate knopf
Truly one of the great museums of our time. The Egypt section is amazing with the real mummies and of course go see Sue the T Rex, but stay for the lessons on mass extinctions. Great for kids, so many interactive exhibits.
Guilherme Ximenes
One of the best museums I've ever been. The evolution/dinosaurs exhibition is amazing. If you enjoy understanding this world we live in you are gonna love it!
Gaguk Yudiarinto
Museum Campus is a 57-acre museum park that sits near Lake Michigan and surrounds three of the city's most notable museums, all dedicated to the natural sciences: the Adler Planetarium; the Shedd Aquarium; and the Field Museum of Natural History. It is also known for holding the Soldier Field football stadium and the Lakeside Center of the McCormick Place. When I visited there was Cold Play gig in Soldier Field. Wonderful Memorial day Weekend...!
Annette Sharon
Pictures do not make justice for the beauty of sea creatures in this aquarium. If you want to look at the aquarium, field museum, and aquarium in this museum campus, plan to spend a day. Even that won't be sufficient to look at everything in the museum campus. We had a great time and enjoyed this place. It's a place we are planning to go back to when we visit Chicago.
Debbie Libla
Enjoyed the Field Museum and Shedd's Aquarium! One could spend days in either place and still never see them all. Didn't get to see Adler's Planetarium but they did let us use the restroom! Interesting looking building.
Crystal Hurteau
If you have never been to the museum campus in Chicago you should definitely make an effort to go because the place is gorgeous, full of amazing activities to do, and the views of the city are breathtaking! Everything is here for you in one spot-the Planetarium, Aquarium, Field Museum, Soldier Field. There is parking available on the street or in lots. Sidewalks to all attractions so you can take strollers, walkers, or wheelchairs easily. With a City Pass you will get your money's worth and more.
Greg Hill
On a nice day in Chicago, the museum campus is fabulous. I gave it 4 and not 5 stars because parking is tough or expensive. So many things to see and do. We did the Adler Planetarium on a Wednesday night. It was free to Illinois residents, and a marvelous experience. You need to reserve entry on line ahead of time.
Jamie Clark
Lovely place.
Lovely views.
I felt like Snow White. The birds and squirrels are so incredibly used to people that they come up super close while in "recharging" mode at the snack shack in-between museums.
Have your camera/video ready. (I sadly, didn't. I was too busy absorbing the moment.)
Next time I will take seeds and nuts for them.
•Bike and scooter rentals available.
•Transportation, covered bike for 4.
(20 minutes $50 when asked.)
• Food trailers on grounds in-between museums.
Jeanna Lowman
Very, very crowded, the parking situation for handicapped guests is ridiculous and the parking attendants were not friendly or helpful. I'm not from Chicago so I'm not familiar with all the 'suggestions' I received from staff and asking for more info seemed to irritate these individuals.
The staff in inside the museum was hit or miss as to being friendly and/or helpful. The best service/attitude came from the cleaning staff walking around keeping the ground looking good. They were knowledgeable friendly, and made many suggestions on a range of things.
Definitely check out the Color attraction that you pay extra for...my 12 & 14 yr olds thought it was interesting.
The gift shop was extremely crowded but it was also near closing time. The issue we had was when we were overcharged for an item and were then sent to 3 different people to get a refund. The item had a sign clearly marked 50% off, had it been a few dollars I would have just said forget it, but $15 an the attitude whoa it was a bit much.
The museum sights are worth the trip, just be prepared for the crowds and attitudes.
Chris Stone
Big museum with even bigger pieces. Lots of items and areas to explore and check out. I was here for an award ceremony so I didn't get to experience as much as I would have liked but nonetheless this place was breath-taking. From fossils to historic jewelery this place has a little bit of everything to explore. The main area is massive and your eyes can wonder to something new and exciting with every turn. If you are in Chicago and have time to site see i would highly recommend spending a couple hours here alone. Multilevel and different exhibits to keep your attention the whole time.
Stephanie Stewart
We visited the Shedd Aquarium over the holidays and had a wonderful time. It's been a while since we have visited. Some displays are the same, but the Shedd has it's lower level updated. It's very kid friendly. There are hands on displays, like touch a starfish. The dolphin show was short but engaging. The Shedd is a great place to take the kids for several hours of fun and learning. Parking was easy with a lot across the street or street parking.
Robert Kibble
Best museum in Chicago.
Always fascinating, great for the entire family.
All access pass is definitely worth it.
If possible, pack a lunch. Food prices at both restaurants reflect Chicago pricing, so can be expensive.
Elena Skrypnik
Field Museum in Chicago has the museum's collection of more than 26 million artefacts, tyrannosaur T. Rex is the world's largest one, also had the sparkling Hall of Gems. You can travel through 13,000 years of history in the Americas, from the Ice Age to Inca and Aztec temples.
Amazing collection, I recommend it.
Thank you everyone who working at Field Museum and has been given opportunity to us see it)
Indika K. Warnakula
This is a wonderful place to visit if you are in downtown Chicago. It was a place of history full of wonders. Make sure to have at least 4 hours if you are doing the full tour including the 3D movie. We loved the place.
Joshua Calhoun
The most comprehensive and extensive collection of fossils, taxidermic representations of current and extinct animal species, and Indigenous American, Ancient Egyptian, and Asian artifacts I have ever seen besides the Smithsonian. Be sure to alot your entire day here if you want to see it all. I rushed it in four hours.
Kristal Blatz
Me and my family went to the field museum, had lots of fun. So glad their cafe was open it was delicious anyway had lots of fun.
Rob Greenbaum
Brought our son and two friends to Adler for his birthday on a Sunday. A great time was had by all. Had guest services been available during the week prior to our visit to answer questions about the on-site dining options, Adler would've gotten the fifth star.
Sandy Hu Missouri
Field Museum of Natural History is so amazing! There's no way to see it all in one day. Before we started I suggested that we come up with a "safe" word for when we got overwhelmed and needed to leave. So. Many. Dinosaurs! 😍 …
Melvin Columna
I was more than impressed with the cleanliness of the dock area and just how pristine the water is. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, unlike NY harbors.
Orlando Rodriguez (Oso Blanko)
This place was awesome the dinosaurs exhibition was AMAZING. So was the ancient Egypt exhibit they had a bust that looked like Michael Jackson me and my family had so much fun we walked around for 5 hours
Alpha Bruton
Everyone should take a day trip to the museum campus at least once while living, or visiting Chicago. The view of Lake Michigan and the cityscape is awesome. Adler has quite the collection and views not only of the lake but night sky as well.
Helen Kubek
So much to do! Situated on our beautiful lakefront. Worth the trip. My family really enjoyed Shedd Aquarium.
Thomas Wilson
I hope you've made plenty of space on your calendar. My wife and I filled an entire day with just 3 galleries of this amazing museum.
Sue's timeline gallery is absolutely worth the hours we spent working through it. There is clearly an abundance of time and care placed into the arranging of every display.
Shonda S.
The staff, (see photos of the 2 that assisted me below)they were so kind, patient and very helpful assisting us. The museum is full of rich history, you owe it to yourself to visit if you're even in this beautiful city! .
A Hoog
Amazing museum! Soo much to see and do. The mammals and dinosaurs exhibitions are huge and of outstanding quality. You can easily spend more than 4 hours here.
Janet Lustina
What an amazing place to explore whether on your own or with the whole family. There are ginormous dinausor and animals from the past, present and sadly 😥 possibly extinct animals in the future. It is large and may possibly take more than one day to fully explore and take in all it has to offer. …
D White
Shedd Aquarium - went on a free day during their open late for summer hours days! Was busy but we got to see all the exhibits we wanted plus a dolphin show. Next time we'll get a few 4D shows in!
Andrew Pool
So cool!!! The kids loved it!!! We loved it!!! Took way more pictures.. but...... You just have to go and experience it yourself 😁 …
Felipe M
Loved it!! Temporary exhibits keep this museum new all the time, plus having Sue, make it more special!
s smith
There were so many amazing fish to see. We did the 4D experience and it was pretty interesting.
Brian Novak
Everything was beautiful, short walk from the train. We had a great day at the Shedd Aquarium, can't wait to visit Planetarium next!
Claudetta Griffith
Very well manicured landscape and surrounding grounds. Lots of walking, biking and running this morning. Awesome!
Jessica T
Shedd aquarium is amazing. Going to Field tomorrow. Cannot wait. Chicago has the best museums
Mary Shadowens
An amazingly wonderful aquarium in a lovely antique building! Plan to be here for @ least 2 hours.
Jennifer Munoz
The museum campus is a very accessible way to get to the three museums in this area from the Train station. There is also a water taxi in this area that can take you across the lake to Navy Pier which starts in March and goes through october.
BELLA
Touching the sting rays something all kids, toodlers can do. They took the shows away. Never go on the same day as a bears game, the bears fans have priority parking and will have to walk miles and pay crazy parking fees. Beautiful as usual .
Abby Paynter
Very educational and lots to take in, give yourselves plenty of time to see the exhibits. Seemed weekdays, early are the best times to go! VR simulation was fun, highly recommend!
Janet Brady
The Museum Campus consists of Field, Shedd and the Adler Planarian. Such a beautiful complex and day to enjoy the Best of “The City.”
Dheepak Guruswamy
Great place to visit with the whole family and kids. One full day does not do justice to all that is to see. The explorer cafe also has vegetarian options which was good to see. Loved the China displays and Egypt.
BARRINGTON R. GREEN
My children and I visited last week and it was worth it. Great place for family and friends.
Elias Fernandez
Kids loved it (5 stars) but it was a little boring to me (3 stars) so total score 4 stars. More than can be done in a day Sue was the best part but to be honest the dinosaurs at Brookfield zoo actually move so meh.
Angela Brock
Loved the Museum Campus-very beautiful-a true gem of a park in Chicago and a highly recommended visit for anyone traveling here.
Ludivina C Hernandez
Need more time to finish the museum. But love everything there.
Reese Shaw
Jazz at the Acquarim!
The trio was just okay, but the drinks made them better.
Natalie Teske Rector
Great exhibits! So happy we went! And the Jurassic Oceans exhibit was good too!
Ben Smith
Other than having to go to Soldier Field (who's pending roof project should just be a big paper bag #gopackgo) for parking, you can't miss with a museum or aquarium
Veronica Sepulveda
It is convenient that the most popular places to visit in Chicago are within walking distance of each other. Plus there are great views of the city and lake.
Eithne Hennessy
Allow yourself a full day to making the most of your visit. So many amazing displays. Great value for money. We had 30 minutes to close and asked a staff member/security guy what we should focus on, he gave us a whistletop tour of the dinosaur section finishing with "Sue". His kindness and generosity made our visit even more special.
xxbubblxyxx
Chicago has some really amazing museums. Also, I recently found out that there is a program for people who have low income. The program allows you and guests to get into most of these museums relatively inexpensive with your link or public aid card. For my daughter and myself, admission was only 3 dollars. The program is called "Museum for all." The area around the museums are absolutely breathtaking. Totally recommend!!!!!
Angry BeErrIn
Really neat place. Great for kids. Very educational and enlightening. Affordable. Excellent views of the city from this location. Excellent views of the lake as well. Cold and windy. Purchasing the tickets online was not super easy.
Aubrey Martinson
Don't forget to look up!
We really enjoyed our visit.
Sean Mulligan
One of thevgreatest and most important museums in the world.
Camren Kintz
So much to learn there its so awesome and I learned a lot there and the food at the cafeteria is really good
landon strand
This place was gorgeous! So much history and geology to look at. We spent 3 hours here and still felt like we barely scratched the surface. The fossils are gorgeous and make you feel so small and so connected to history. Sue was beautiful. Such a well preserved piece of history. The exhibit on the Pacific islands was gorgous they actually had a long house from the Pacific there.
Alex Contreras
Great place to take younger kids and plenty for the little ones to do. Would highly recommend and would also recommend at least 3 to 4 hours to see a majority, especially with little ones.
Ina Scott
The planetarium is wonderful, if you plan on visiting be sure to check the schedule ahead of time for shows .
Luisa Diaz
I felt bad I couldn't be there earlier, the experience is awesome, I learn about the Native American History. The workers are really helpful.
Ahmed Abdulhameed
Everything about the field museum is amazing 👏 I really enjoyed the wild colors exhibit, especially the blue part of it. The death exhibit was creepy a little bit but still interesting. Finally enjoyed the whole post covid museum experience! …
ML PC
Make sure to visit Sue the T-Rex. Museum trip is not complete without seeing the fossils of Sue.
ENEN SA MU AUNKH
Beautiful view just walk enjoy waters
Alysha Eckmyre
So much to see here! Definitely need several hours to be able to enjoy it all.
Micheal Vollrath
Good family fun parking was close and was was easy And fun to get to
Chris Gehring
Great learning experience for all who attend. Vast amount of exhibits, spent 7 hours there maybe saw 1/4 of everything there. Probably a two day (or more) experience if you want to take it all in. Quick walk over to Grant Park when you are done.
They have a powerbank kiosk there if you need to charge your phone, and you don't even have to return it to the same kiosk; there are a bunch around the city you can return it to.
Eating there can be a bit pricey, but the food is very good, so you get what you pay for there.
Ed Hulse
Great mix of exhibits . Very helpful and courteous staff.
Nicholas Taggie
Beautiful area that does some cool events too. Craft beer and history anyone?
Museum itself is great, a day full of activities and if you have the city pass it it just one of many opportunities to enjoy the collected relics.
Paola Trejos
Is a nice place ,clean
The best way to do it while visiting Chicago is to purchase the city pass. The museums are close to each other so you can do all them in one day is also the cheapest way.
There are different level and they are big but there is elevators, and electric stairs is really easy, staff is friendly and will provide information.
gregucho969
Went to Shedd Aquarium for the day. It took about 7 hrs to completely tour the whole facility. There are so many wonderful creatures from the oceans, lakes and rivers of the world! A must experience, at least once in your life, if not once every summer!
Joey Wolak
Amazing museum about history. SUE is an awesome exhibit along with all the other artifacts they have on site. I also work there as a contractor, so I can say with 1st hand experience the employees and they all are very nice and knowledgeable.
Joe Nightingale
We got stuck in Chicago on a layover. Only had about 4 hours to do the field museum. Modern zoo's make the taxidermy a little less impressive then it was in the '40's, but the dinosaurs, mummy's and exhibit were awesome. If you only have a few hours, skip the taxidermy left of the entrance. Didn't have time for the aquarium and planetarium... next time.
Mohamad Ali El Zein
More than amazing! Feels like a book , full of things to do and see! A must when visiting chicago
Madhurima Sengupta
Awesome place to learn a lot of history facts!
Trina Thomas
I simply love this area. It is beautiful to see and walk the area. With lake Michigan being nearby, the aquarium, the stadium, planetarium, the museum and more. The area is walkable and there's lots of fun to be had.
M Guillen
This was our first time here. It was a great experience. Due to COVID several things were limited but overall we enjoyed it. Great learning environment. I highly recommended this place for families with young children.
Justin Kwiatkowski
Wonderful place, nice museums for families or individuals to explore in Chicago.
Humberto Moreno
Great view of the city. Must visit. Also, it’s free.
Andrew Steele
Gorgeous gardens and city views.
Mary Schultz
A trip to Chicago isn't complete till you visit the Field museum, the Aquarium, the Planetarium, or the Museum of Science& Industry in Chicago. The architecture is amazing, and one could literally spend weeks walking thru their many exhibits! Well worth the price of admission!
Nadia Márquez
Lots to see, nice bistro cafe inside the museum!
Sanjay Singh
Visiting the Field Museum once again after 12 years! The magic is intact as are the fossils and recommendations of the massive animals that once roamed the earth! The exhibitions of the day were good and thoughtful. Death- greatest mystery of life was well researched and sourced. The Cyrus Trang China was awesome!
I take away one star from an otherwise 5 start institution, for the general decline in the maintenance, ventilation and overall cleanliness of the place. The smells and fumes are cumulative and stale, and that remains concerning for people with health and respiratory problems. Maybe it's time to professionally plan the ventilation of the building as a museum, zone-wise, than just a standard old building!
Jacob Tharakan Chacko
Take time, go around the area
Surendera Bhavsar
Very clean n Hygienic area.
looking Indian feel in USA
All foods are very tasty n reasonable price.
Service given by all staff is heart feelings.we recommend all indians to visit again and again.
Jennifer Boyles
I always enjoy the shedd of aquarium when I'm visiting. I believe they have upgraded it as well I see an addition was made since my last visit the day we went was the weekend of Thanksgiving and it was crowded but we still enjoyed ourselves and had a wonderful time.
Oscar Torres
What a beautiful and pleasing place!
It is a true inspiration and an eye feast. This is a must sea in the city.
There are a couple places where you can park at, including the street parking.
The place is near three of the most amazing museums in the world.
chad svastisalee
Museum Campus features a system of tunnels, trails and green space to help usher visitors too and from. These are views from Museum Campus, specifically North entrance @fieldmuseum There's much more to explore. If sights and sounds are your forte head on down. A quick trip on the CTA 130 drops off at Field Museum, Soldier Field, Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium or Northerly Island.
Rhonda Riley
Such a nice aquarium. May I suggest a place at entrance for guests to be protected from the elements. We stood outside for about 30 min in cold rainy weather.
burn after reading
A great way to spend the day.
Melissa Collins
I believe I spent 3 hours walking the museum and still didn't get to see everything. There is an abundance of knowledge and displays, make sure you've got the time because it's well worth it. One tip is to make sure you have the correct ticket because I bought the basic and couldn't get into some of the exhibits I wanted to see.
Dan Thompson
What an awesome experience.. It was our first trip to Chicago and we wanted to stop in and tour the dinasaur exhibits with my grandson.. We were blown away by it and can't wait to go back..
Allen Thornton
Definitely my favorite museum in the city. Not as much "cool" stuff as MSI, but if you're a fan of world history and culture, this is the place for you. Be prepared to spend all day, and more here if you want to take in everything, because there are a lot of exhibits and a ton of information to process. The staff here is very friendly, and the museum store has a bunch of cool stuff as well, though it's a little expensive, but that's typical for a gift shop. There are a variety of parking options, which again, are on the expensive side, so if you're driving, be prepared to spend a lot. My only complaint is that the membership doesn't cover parking, like MSI, but that's probably because The Field doesn't have its own lot. Other than that, I highly recommend this museum. It's a clean, comfortable, and very quiet environment.
Chris Pluchar
We took a day to visit the Field Museum as my buddy for the day was eager to see the Egyptian items on display. They did not disappoint!
We got the All-Access Pass as I wasn't sure what we'd be drawn to while we were there and it turned out to have been a wise choice as we saw just about everything. Note that it only includes one movie and doesn't include the VR experience.
Parking is easy, there are a few lots/garages around, and then it's a short walk to the front entrance. As we had our tickets on my phone, we didn't have to wait in the longer of the two lines.
Some of the exhibits were a little crowded, likely because we went while everyone was on break from school, but not too bad overall.
Be warned that the cost adds up quickly!
Parking - $30
Lunch for Two - $36
All Access Pass for Two - $71
VR Experience for Two - $20
Total - $157
If you have a family with two parents and a few kids or just trying to save a little money, you may want to pack a lunch to help keep costs down. They have indoor eating areas where you can have your bagged lunch.
Vikas Kapil
It’s a great place to check Chicago skyline view , this campus has Shedd aquarium, Field museum and Alder planetarium in close proximity. Parking is available in parallel parking or parking lots . Roads are wheelchair accessible. Due to COVID restrictions public restrooms are closed in the beach area.
Cynthia Perkins
I go there every morning a early as 6am...beautiful walk. The nature area is secluded and peaceful. I go walking with my grandchild. He loves it. I thank Jehovah for nature.
Lauren Pagel
One of the best museums I've been to. The layout is very easy to follow and the exhibits are all very well displayed and interesting. The Gemstone Hall was my favorite...I could've spent hours in there. And of course, seeing Sue up close and personal was great. They have an informative video that plays every few minutes about her. Definitely worth the price. A must see if you visit the city!
Laurencio Ronquillo
This area is superb. Whether a walk jog or bike ride the views and paths are great. On top it has a few museums and statues walking distance from each other.
Parking lots are nearby and public transportation is very handy
This is great to go and spend all day checking things out. Eating from vendors and just relaxing enjoying the whole experience.
Andrea Mrosko
This was such a fun day!! My husband and I wanted to get a trip in a couple of months before or daughter was due. This was such a great choice! The museum was busy but all of the exhibits are very accessible. Nice!
Nousheen Merchant
Serenity ;) I love this place we usually go for sailing before its get very humid. So it was a great experience with our instructor "K" and couple who joined us. If you like adventurous person go and look for adaptive adventures and sign up for more.
Anthony Daniels
Great aquarium but you have to pay for extras. Make sure you buy tickets online ahead of time, it will save you a line wait...I literally bought my tickets on my phone at the door and walked right in otherwise it was a 30-45 minute wait. The aquarium itself is spectacular but you do have to pay for extras and certain shows.
Kevin Stafford
Pre purchase tickets online. Park under soldier field. Be there about 15min before the doors open. Best experience yet. Will return.
John Ginder
The campus was amazing, so many amazing and exceptional museums. The cafe were also very good in each location. The staff was knowledgeable and seemed to really enjoy the chance to share.
Alexus Vogel
This musume was so large I was sad it closed so early! I would suggest a 2 day pass! Highly recommended musume! huge fan of the hall of birds exhibit!
Devin Diaz
Great place with amazing museums all in one small location! The three museums are free with full access if you purchase the city pass, which I HIGHLY advise. The museums are wonderful but the view of the skyline is enough if a reason to come to museum campus.
Felipe Soares
The exhibits are spectacular! It's mostly around nature (human evolution since Earth's early days). You can easily spend over 6h here. We spent 4h and were only able to see 2 of them. Not giving 5 full stars cause I believe they need some improvements and modernization, to make the museum more interactive. We did Chicago History Museum and it's much better in terms of interactivity. But this one is much more grandiose and has more cool exhibits.
Kadek Ayurina
We went here on Sunday around 11:30 and spent almost 5 hours there. It is a huge museums with so many exhibits to see. We spent most of our time to take our son playing at their indoor playground then looked at the dinosaurs. Even after 5 hours there we still missed some exhibits. I think we have to visit at least 3 times to see all the exhibits (in detail).
If you planning to visit for a long time like us I suggest you to bring some snacks or even packed lunch because you will definitely need energy to walk around here.
Cynthia Fitzpatrick
We went on a free day. The views of Lake Michigan are beautiful. They had nice interactive exhibits for kids. One area was based on the planets and the other area was based off of space exploration. They also had movies to watch for $13 a show. We chose to go there for a few hours and not do the movies.
Rob Dorsey
We spent all day here. My son loved the Mold.A.Matic machines making all the dinosaurs to keep. Can't wait to go back.
Heather A
This is a great place to take anyone to. So much wonderful history. We love the wax mold machines & all the penny smashers. And in the basement picnic area they have a display of narwhals. Also, the prices in the gift shop range from dirt cheap to expensive. I got a pair of earrings for $20, yet the beautiful necklace I looked at was $2800 marked down. So, something for everyone.
Becky Lipka
In this area, you may go to Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum. I would highly suggest going to both. Both places are incredibly amazing and near each other. The dinosaur exhibits are fascinating. The aquarium has Beluga Whales!!! Fun for the family and a must see.
Peter Lightbody
Great place to go and visit. There is easily enough to see and do to fill an entire day, especially if you get the all areas ticket which gives you access to some restricted exhibitions. The one downside for me was that I found the restaurant in the main hall to be very expensive and the choice and quality were not great. Nevertheless, it is definitely worth a visit.
Stephen Peirce
The exhibits and information to accompany them are excellent and the price is reasonable for what you get! The building is gorgeous and all the environmentals (temp etc) were good. We weren't too impressed with the instructions/map/directions. Some of the exhibits had a definite start and finish, which was not marked on the map, and no other way to know where the start was except to wander around. There were many vending machines and all but one was out of water. That vending machine advertised a 16oz water for $2.25 but charged me $3.35 when it dispensed. I realize that drinks are going to be more expensive out of a vending machine at a venue like this but selling a can of soda for $1.50 and a bottle of water for $3.35 is just all kinds of wrong. Not to mention the false advertising on the price.
Audra Cohen
Getting quite outdated, fun for a nostalgic museum experience but they could really use an upgrade there already. The COLOR exhibit was AWESOME
Ruth Day
There is nothing quite like the Shedd. Something for everyone, interactive activities for kids, exhibitions, shows and plenty of place just to sit and enjoy the water. Sharks, belugas and dolphins are a must see.
Todd Caraway
Fantastic variety of fish, animals, etc. Reserve tickets to shows when you check in. Do NOT miss the WILD REEF and the sharks. It's NOT part of the walking area; it is "hidden". You MUST take easily overlooked elevator (no stairs) between the 2 Amazon entrances. Again do NOT miss it!!
Honey Di
Nice place to visit. Also has bus stops - easily accessible via public transportation.
Robin
Sheds Aquarium in Chicago. Had a blast. Saw 4D mini movie about sharks. My 1st experience of a 4D movie.
Gary
This museum is amazing! There are so many cool animals to see. Highly recommended!
David Basney
This was my first time being a tourist in Chicago, I had a great time walking around to different museums.
Haris Zeekrya
The aquarium and the Field museum were great. The planetarium was okay seemed a bit run down
Tom Moloney
Field Museum is awesome! See all the fossils. See ancient egypt. See Sue the T-rex.
Joshua Cooper
I love this museum. A great range of exhibits with semi interactive displays. They're currently upgrading some of the interactive aspects.
sterling williams
I really like all of exhibits, really phenomenal experience!
Donna Lawrence (DLAW2EXP)
Very pricey and there is an extra charge for other exhibits. The kids enjoyed it.
V R Concha
A huge complex and has everything you'd expect in a natural history museum. The cafe has self-checkout and they make good espress. Parking is a little pricey. Overall a great experience.
John Krueger
Love this place! Went with my wife and friends during the month of february it was awesome and alot of fun to go here! Easy to find and parking was convenient at soldier field. Want to come back and do some ol the paid exhibits i unfortunately didnt have enough time to see but will definitely come back again to see them
Rasturn Vogt
Really loved the experience! I love seeing Sue, they are so lovely the exhibit is very impressive.
Nicholas Farnes
My Wife and I enjoyed visiting the museums located here at the Museum Campus on January 22-23, 2022. We’ll surely be back again!
Edge Body Sculpting
Just another lovely collection of exhibits to be found in great old Chicago. We love this town! Been coming to Chicago for over 20 years and places like this Museum and campus are an excellent source of education and exercise; lots of walking. Very safe environment and near all the major downtown parks. Love the new dinosaur sculpture they are building right outside on the west side of the campus. Enjoy!
Ronald A. Cruz R.
Huge place you will require a lot of time to walk around. Really good
Mandy McCoy
very cool the history. of dinosaurs,Sue)real fossils. . and the Lions from the movie Ghost of the darkness. and lot more. loved it
Leele Thomas
I took these photos myself and we took the family for the first time and our kids loved it. Although I wish they would update the Africa experience it's very outdated with inaccurate maps
SERKAN YORULMAZ
We loved it very fun place to visit. Kids had so much fun. Only my complaint is they should have changing table in the men's room not inside the handicap bathroom cabin. When you have only 2 cabins l have to wait in long line to soneone to finish his business ti change diaper. Believe me that is sucks!
nidhi sehami
Always love this place whenever I visit Chicago. The dolphin show is wonderful and so much fun!
Lisa Phillips
Getting to the museum at opening on a Monday was amazing. It was as if we had the museum to ourselves and didn't feel rushed. Because of this we saw more than we have ever seen.
Lisa Ferry
Loved it!!!!! Much more amazing then I expected, with it being our first time! Me and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed our time! Now my husband is jelly and we need to go back again as a whole family!❤ Not a problem with me!!
A L ə X
Beautiful spot, couple of good outdoor food vendors too. We got some delicious hot dogs but the taco truck looked really good...next time!
Anthony Moore
A massive Museum with lots of unique anthropological and zoological exhibits readily available with information on the subject matter. The one featured here is from the exhibit about the Tsavo Lions.
Dale
This was free to me as an ASTC member. I forget normal admission price.
This Museum cannot be seen in a full day.
I rate it second to the American Museum of Natural History in NYC.
Jennifer Richardson
The museum was included in our citypass purchase and was thoroughly enjoyed by myself and my daughters. We spent most of our morning exploring all the exhibits, which ranged from dinosaurs to ancient Egypt to wildlife. Staff was super friendly and helpful and because we arrived early, there was virtually no waiting in line.
Greg Dickson
We love the field museume. We love how they change the exhibits frequently. Its a great place to take the kids to teach them about history. Dinosaurs, Native American. Ancient Egypt, the terracotta warriors, mummies, Ghangis Khan and so much more.
Silver Moon
Sue the T-Rex is here and they are amazing to view. This museum has a lot to look at. I didn't look at all of the exhibits and I was there for over an hour. Loved how on the way to Sue there was a history of life on earth from ancient fish all the way to present day. Very informative on extinctions and really makes you think.
Hope F
Loved every minute of this museum! Wish I had more time, and also wish I would have paid for the Hall of China!
Cheryl Ridenour
Get a City Pass. Visit all of the Chicago Museums - Shedd Aquarium, The Field Museum and Adler Planetarium. They each take the better part of a day to see. They are all fabulous in their own way. They are great for children and adults. You will do a lot of walking but there are places to sit and rest if you need it. There are places to eat on site. Don’t forget to walk down the sidewalk between the Field Museum and the Adler Planetarium and have a great free photo op with the entire Chicago skyline in the background!
Randy Cox
Really interesting and entertaining, get there early or lines get long. Weekday visits are best for those who want to take their time.
Suri Kim
It is good place With kids there are few sections. When i visited this museum I saw Asian culture and dinosaur section and I could get information of African countries.
I think this museum is good for children's education. Lastly, some parts of this museum, it is difficult to find a signal of cell phone
Sri
Sheds aquarium, Alder planitorium and Field museum were in the same campus... We can see the beautiful views of Michigan lake sitting and the Chicago building's walking in and around the campus... Nice and pleasant place...
Brandon Faloona
The grounds to the southeast of the Adler Planetarium main telescope are designed to be good locations for people to set up telescopes or just sit on benches to observe the night sky. It's amazing how shielded from light pollution you are, right there near downtown Chicago.
Alexander Preston
The field museum started in the late 1800s and they have so many specimens. Anything you can think of. Plants that can be used as dyes. We checked out the dinosaurs in the evolution exhibit. They were amazing and Sue was incredible. Great museum but you need several days to see it all
Francisco Javier Aureliano Gutierrez Lopez
Field museum is enormous, comfortable shoes are very important, 3.5 to 4 hours to see the most important exhibits with sufficient detail.
Ciera Langhorne
Love this place! Always something new to see! I love sue, Lucy and maximo so much. I've followed the research on them since I was a kid. The new sue exhibit is awesome.
wendy M.
AMAZING!!! I was simply blown away by the collections and quality of display/education offered at the Chicago Field Museum. Recommend visiting solo, just once even, to absorb the knowledge presented on placards. I spent the entire day here and only went through 1/3 of general admission exhibits...call me extreme...but I feel like I walked away with so much more and am already planning to visit again to continue the journey. enjoy...this is all about life here.
Elizabeth Zeman
So much to see and experience! We were only able to get the top floor done on Sunday. We are definitely coming back to experience the rest! This is my favorite museum in Chicago and it's very nostalgic for me. Lot's of wonderful exhibits!
Michael S. Copeland
Shedd Aquarium was great. The water and land show is absolutely amazing and should not be missed. I was very impressed with the improvements since the last time I was there. Simply outstanding!
Got to watch the diver feed everything in the Caribbean tank, which was also really cool.
Cassie Sago
Amazing time spent. The kids loved the 4D Water splash movie. We also seen the sea lion live show, it was awesome. We truly enjoyed our time at the Shed and look forward to visiting again.
Genevieve Hankins
A great place to enjoy the day for you, your partner, and your family. There is a lovely park, a beach, and access to the amazing attractions here make it a "must see" when you visit Chicago. I would plan to spend all, or most, of your day here at the Museum, Aquarium, or Planitarium. It's hard to do more than one in a day though so plan accordingly. :)
Charlie Chia
Very clean and very good for older ages. Exhibits include a lot of reading and small activities while walking through some exhibits while others are mostly hands on. Within the museum campus it is handicap accessible and pretty easy to navigate for first timers.
kalyan ashok
This is a great place to visit during the holiday time. It will take a day to completely view all the artifacts in the museum located in multiple floors. Please plan to start early in the day.
Mike St John
This place has the giant Field Museum, the Shedd Aquarium, and the Alder Planetarium to it. The alder is cool, and also a bust currently as they are remodeling some of the best attractions. The Shedd is a great place for seeing all types of aquatic animals. The field Museum is massive with tons of exhibits of every type of natural beauty from rocks, to dinosaurs to plants to animals
Aida Alfonso
Parking around is 25 dollars 4 hrs. Or less,
30 dollars more than 4 hrs. Although you can use the parking meters around campus, Soldier field is open too.
Hen Herr
Family came in for visit. Took them to the Shed Aquariam. Purchased tickets online. Parking was easy and paying at kiosk convenient. Had a wonderful time. Area is clean and accessible to Lake Shore and downtown areas. Felt safe as we saw plenty police and security.
Timothy Hickman
Great place while in downtown Chicago!!
A Holden
Beach over there is great because it isn’t crowded. Has more gravel and rocks than sand. The grass allows you to barbecue and you can find sea glass on the beach which my son loves to collect.
Rosa Maria Share
The museum was interesting as always. The restaurant is total ripoff. For three [little] hamburgers, three minuscule fries and two ridiculously small Caesar salads we paid 86!!!. It's impossible to enjoy a bite with your family while visiting this museum. Suggestion: eat a very large meal at home before heading to the museum.
Trenette Monty
Always a great experience. Went for Jazzin at the Shed, it ended up raining so I couldn't experience the outdoors but overall I did enjoy myself. And definitely will be back next year
J. Luis Pinet
Beautiful museum contents and great info. Preview the museum webpage to decide beforehand what Exhibition you want to see.
Ylenia Morselli
What a superb museum, it's a must if you like history and animals! My favourite areas were dinosaurs and mummies, you can spend easily 5hours there! Just pace yourself and check out what really interests you, otherwise you won't get out! Hahaha but please pay it a visit, totally worth it tickets are around 20 usd or so!
Anne Erwin
Conflicting to rate. The Field Museum was wonderful and as with the Smithsonian in my home time you can visit over and over and seemingly never get through. However, the upmarketing was a total turn off. Time wasted with a poor explanation of the ticket purchase process. We had to return to the ticket both to upgrade for the Biomechanical Exhibit and you would have thought we were doing something unheard of despite signs encouraging upgrades. Having your photo taken at exactly the entrance location where you would expect to have your ticket taken was off putting. The individuals trying to upsell photos know perfectly well that visitors are thinking they are to giving their tickets to them. The quality of merch in the gift shop meet my expectations.
Would I go again? Yes! Just a little more experienced.
Krystal Aranda
Absolutely beautiful museum! They have a wide array of exhibits and fun activities! It is very well kept and definitely a must see when visiting Chicago. The dinosaur fossil exhibits are jaw-dropping and it will blow your mind.
Dea Knapp
Never disappointed. Can get crowded. Go in the afternoon on weekdays. Great bubble show for little ones. We used our city pass. Great bang for the buck.
Violet Munoz
A lot of fun for everyone. The place is pretty big. We didn't get to go through the whole museum in 4 hours. There's vending machines downstairs but you have to take exact change. Will be returning again to see the rest of the museum as well as seeing our favorite displays again.
Bhavin Gandhi
Always fun , kids enjoyed the aquarium 4d movies, shark tank, otters, saw fish, seals, and Beluga whales .. 100's if tropical colorful fishes in various tanks. Stingray's
F Gonzalez
My private tour guide, grandson worked volunteer for the summer. Kids showing a quick how much do you know pop ups. Fun. Not enough time to see everything. Great fam time.
Hoover Hodge
Was great to see Sue! Only I find it incredible the museum failed to note, at all, the Larsen brothers that so delicately excavated Sue from the ground, then restored her for all to see. No mention of the Larsens and the only unprofessional part of an otherwise fantastic exhibit. Personally, I think Sue belongs to the people of South Dakota where she was found.
The museum. the building, and grounds is a must-see if visiting Chicago.
Russell Maxey
Went to go see the Tsavo Lions. Such a great story and to be able to see the actual lions and their skulls was the highlight of the day! If you don't know the story, watch the movie The Ghost and The Darkness.
Rachael Palmieri
Never a disappointment! Even my teenagers are still amazed by this great aquarium. We've visited a few others in different cities over the past couple of years and nothing compares to this! Informative and delightful!
Diego Cruz
Must visit VIEW ! For tourists! Obligated picture of the WINDY CITY ! Beautiful 364 days of the year !
Marie Johnson
We toured the Aquarium. Went to Navy Pier on the water Taxi. Had lunch at Harry Cary's, and went on the Faris wheel.
Look up free Museum days.Get there early for cheaper parking, it goes from $25. to $50. . A pretzel is $5.59. :) LOL..
Ya only live once....go for it! It was a great day.
Kelly Yap
We get a family membership to one Chicago area museum/attraction each year and definitely take advantage of the members only events. So great to be able to experience behind the scenes! The Scavenger Hunt was a great way to get all of us involved in looking for all that was available in the Field Museum!
Max Bromberg
Shedd aquarium was an alright experience. They sell way more tickets than they should have. When we were there, all of the exhibits were good and well taken care of but the amount of people in the place was a bummer. The 4D experience was interesting, however the one we did was only about 6-10 minutes long. We expected a longer show than that for $5. The exhibits were good, but the atmosphere wasn't.
Marisa Arevalo
Loved visiting The Field Museum on cool rainy days. There was a highlight tour at 11 am and I learned so much from our tour guide Yvonne. Go next Wednesday Oct. 9th: Free for Illinois residents.
G Butta G
This Stadium what pretty nice. I was digging all the Bears paraphernalia all over the place. Although, I didn't really watch the game too much because my Steelers were playing elsewhere, still had a good time here.
Perry Michaud
The Shedd Aquarium was awesome! I haven’t been there in years. Great time!
kevin gabriel
This place is amazing, the views of the city here are phenomenal. I cant begin to describe how amazing they are.
I saw people taking wedding photography here and the museums are a must! Take your time and dont rush because it is a large place to explore.
Child friendly. Wheel chair friendly, bicycle and jogger friendly. Go out and enjoy it on a sunny day.
Derrick Marrello
Chicago is such a beautiful city. Walking around the grounds for the museums is so relaxing on the days where people are not as abundant. If you're in Chicago and just want a nice walk and see some interesting things, I'd suggest just strolling the campus.
Vishesh Chandra
Lovely area during the summer, it's got great views and is in proximity to all the major museums!
Damian Reyes
Lots to do, see and visit all the displays pet the stings rays (seasonal).see the diver feed the fish in the carribean tank. Go to the underground viewing area and see the penguins, Beluga Wales and sea otters. Watch the dolphin show.
Dorothy Desouzaguedes
Wasily accessed via 146 bus. Lots of parking options.
So much to do and see here even if you don't go inside a museum.
Picnic along the lake or walk in the icy cold water (there's a safe area on the north side). Take advantage of amazing views, perfect for group or special occasion photos. Check out the fancy boats on the south (Soldier Field) side.
On a budget? Illinois residents should search for free days available throughout the year: I went to thecAdler for free this week.
Nazar Krushelnytskyi
Very interested for kids and adults. Great family place to visit on weekends
Prabhakar Chintalapati
Great place to bring kids.
Bryan J McCormick
Nice visit to the Field Museum, our first. I'm a bit spoiled as i have been to quite a few excellent Museums (Louvre, Hermitage, etc) so I gave a score of 4 not 5, but everyone in our family had a highlight during our visit. Ancient Egypt, dinosaurs, the early Chinese Dynasties and gems were our favorite areas.
nicole abreu
Such an awesome museum! Just sucks Sue the T rex was not on display. But its such an awesome place. The exhibits are so interesting, especially the mummies. I wqs really fascinated! I would love to come here again
Irewole Akande
My night in the Field Museum was absolutely gorgeous! I was a date for a PayPal employee attending their end of year company ball and it was an all around fantastic experience! We got to see all the great exhibits upfront and closely, fantastic meal by the caterers and lovely ambience.
However the highlight of my night had to be Sue! The rigmarole journey to arrive at a stunning exhibit that is worth everything. Always read about fossils and archeological discoveries as a young child in Nigeria. It was fulfilling to see one of the greatest finds in person.
Derek Katana
The best place to see and take pictures of Chicago skyline. Plenty of meter parking, best time to take pictures like this one is first hour after sunset.
See more pictures like this one follow me on Instagram, derekkatana your local Chicago photographer.
Erika S.
Beautiful walking area; grassy plains, wildflowers, trees, great views on both sides, each museum is in a historical and gorgeous building, and the paths are wide and clean.
Jahon R.
Visiting this place was a great way to kill time and get out of the rain! Loved the experience! 😅 …
Van Adrian
It was ok. But everything was extra. So we didn't do a lot of things. We did the creatacous under the sea. It wasn't worth it. We did the 3 D ride. It was cool, but short. It could have been better.
Kat Tarko
I always love coming here to see my favorite dino Sue. So glad I got to make it out to see fleshy before they go on tour. Its hard to explain or capture in pictures how magical it is to hang around with the most up to date realization of the trex, so youll have to go experience it for yourself! Everything here is amazing but for me it always pales to Sue, which never gets old to visit!
Rosemary Lobato
This museum is so beautiful. Especially the Ancient Americas section. My son goes crazy for all of the dinosaur skeletons- it’s a fun place to take the family. Also, the Mold-a-ramas are really cool.
Toni Schunk
I'm Native American and was invited here to see these exhibits. Beautiful is all I can say.
Evelyn Levin
There is an incredible amount of potential that is not being nurtured. This Chicago institution is not well run. It is NOT worth paying the full entrance price.
Thomas Roderick
You cannot go wrong with The Field Museum. When you get there, the entry line is much shorter if you walk around to the east entrance. Only complain is the gift shop is technically outside of the area you are supposed to be in, so we had to gain entry back into the museum after the gift shop, to complete our visit.
Joe
Great museum and aquarium to check out while staying in Chicago. Both close at 5pm so need to get there early if you want to do both in a day.
Christie Kim
For a six-year old, declared future paleontologist, the Field museum was perfect. We enjoyed the special exhibit on Antarctic dinosaurs as well as the regular Dinosaur Hall. The grown ups were intrigued by the other exhibits, but we'll have to visit another time. Go early for shorter lines!
Elisabeth Gross
Had the best time! Bought a family membership, can't wait to go back. There was so much to see, we didn't even scratch the surface. Our kids are ages 7-12 and there was something for everyone.
Mrsfc Roland
Very nice. Very fun. The time flys by! There's so much to see. The lake is right there too.
Lisa Ferry
Adler Field Planetarium was very exciting and fun for me and my 2yr old! We had a blast! This place was so much more exciting than I pictured in my head!
Fabio Fonseca
You can't visit Chicago without visiting this wonderful and historical museum! Nice for adults and children. Full of history and learning opportunities. Recommended
Wedding Plans
Great museum. Exhibits are all so cool
Po Shin Tsai
There are many museums here to visit and take pictures
Rottar Srey
So much to discover here!! Make sure you come early or at k at least give yourself 4+ hours to explore the museum. Skip the main floor restrooms and run downstairs where there's literally a floor full of restrooms and lower lines!!
Michael Evans
I GOT TO SEE ONE OF THE MOST WHOLE T-REX'S!!! You need to go here if you are in the are at all! If you have kids, this would be so fun for them!! Ancient Egypt as well!!
Eddie Cortes (PNSHR)
Lets start off with, Museum of Science and Industry is the BEST museum in the city. PERIOD. This picture and review is for tge Field Musuem. Its ok. Not very huge. The free exhibits are Egypt,Africa, and Dinos among some others. The PAY exhibits are numerous and i feel like it takes away from what the essence of a museum is. Go to MSI and get more bang for your buck.
Bibekananda Pandey (Bibek)
Good place to chill alone. The sea shore are the best.
VEERAJ RAJPUT
Highly informative place.. must visit
Hilary M
Great exhibits from across the the seas and even local 🐟 from the great lakes! We loved the outdoor Sting Ray petting open May-October! …
Anastasia Pylypenko
In love with both the planetarium and the view over the city. If you have a military discount make sure to buy tickets there, not online since military discount can’t be applied to online purchases for planetarium
Solvey Juarez
It's a good place to know different things
Kymberlee Carpenter
We walked across the campus from a parking area to the aquarium and the field museum. It was winter and cold, so it was bare and empty. I think in warmer weather it is probably much nicer.
Cagla G.
My fav was the field museum, Adler planetarium the second and the Ripley's aquarium is third. Here's some interesting photos for you.
Clark Colvard
Visited Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium. So much to see.
Syd Ward
Even though the Shedd was having a free day so it was PACKED and I'm sure the other museums were as well, the campus was not crowded at all, very walkable, and clean.
Bala Srinivasan
Absolutely beautiful. Even if you don't go to museums, just a great area to walk or bike around. Great views of the city.
Angie Conejo
Parking is a pain in the butt especially when the base starting price for the museum's parking lot is $30. Better to park along the lake or near the streets as it's about $2-$3 an hour. Difficult to find parking sometimes along the street but it's a lot more worth it.
Billy Luke
Fun place full of neat exhibits. Lots of history and fun information. Sue the TRex was amazing. Really enjoyed the ancient Egypt exhibit.
Yilin K
Not really much to explore!
Lisa Hendricks
We spent the night at the Field Museum with cubscouts, Dozin with the Dino's, and really enjoyed it. My son enjoyed all of the planned activities as well as I! We watched films, dissected owl pellets, explored things, lands and cultures and after lights out story time and more exploring by flashlight only. Very well organized, good snack and alot of fun.
Adriann Aros
A really fun/iconic place to be. Lots of places to go and see, lots of people out and about. Easy to find your way around- clear signs pointing the way. Make sure to check the weather- it gets cold and windy beside the lake!
Chris Elder
A lot of cool things to do here including the museum and Soldier Field. We got the pleasure of watching the Bears beat the Packers to win the NFC North. It was a great event and the fans were energized but not rude. Beware though that regardless of the hundreds of police officers there are, before games people will rob you. We gave someone $1100 for 4 tickets and they were counterfeit. Even with a photo of the culprits the police were like "I hope you find them and kick their a$%. That's what I would do." We also lost $400.00 on Craigslist buying tickets. The "family man, season ticket holder with a death in the family" took the transferred bank funds and never provided tickets.
Also be aware after the game, of the guys offering rides via bike. We paid $50.00 for a half mile ride to the Uber and Lyft pickup spot. It is supply and demand after a game so make sure you know exactly how far you are getting for the price.
Continue walking along the river to visit the Planetarium and the Aquarium, as well as some nice parks.
MISTER MOTOR
The overall experience visiting the
Shedd Aquarium in Chicago was AWESOME
Even though it was a bit crowded the atmosphere was so peaceful
The exhibits where you could actually touch some of the fish that was awesome
Mike Jay
Always fun to visit the field museum. Warning, it's Chicago, it's busy, it's expensive, and people are rude. Don't let the people who can't walk ruin your experience.
jacqueline crosson
Great amount to see! You will need a couple of days to see all the museums. Children and adults will like. Aquarium was my favorite.
Ardisann Szala
Anyone attending the Shedd Aquarium on Indigenous Day knew "how wonderfully welcoming" the staff is. The belugas were fun! Watching them eat drew a crowd...as did the penguins!
Joan Sporny
We got to go to the staff appreciation event, and we had a great time. We even visited areas of the museum that are usually not open to the public. What a delightful place!
Annette Jones
The after hour event's are wonderful, a different crowd appears when the stars come out.
The events start with arranging the chairs and tables for the crowds of people the will come to share the space for a Wedding or Party going on.
So come out and enjoy the place morning ,noon, or night.
Asif Hussain
Amazing place, three major attractions especially for tourists.
Feild Museum of Natural History,
Shedd Aquarium,
Adler's Planetarium.
On free days and weekends, road side parking is hard to get. Adler's Planetarium has ample peaking for 16 USD/day.
wierdawgg
Great place to get an authentic Chicago dog from a street vendor. A huge ground that has the main attractions.

Museum is a very good place to learn about animals, cultures, history and more. It’s a very educational place to be at, however there is one star missing because the place needs a little bit of renovation. There are things that need fixing. There was an ostrich with a broken neck and there was plenty of things that makes them look old, which to be fare, they are old. Which in a way is not that bad that they don’t kill more animals to show to people. I like the place. 👍
Ray Alan
Gorgeous campus with lots of marble, laws to sit on and watch out for the construction outside. Nice to spend an afternoon walking around during a sunny day.
Upallnit Coleman
Went to see the Cirque du Soleil show Volta, located on the south lot of the Museum Campus. The show was great. Very hot, but great. Loved the live singing with each act. Definitely want to go see another cirque show.
Ashton Redd
Went for a beautiful Members Night. As always it was beyond words to describe how wonderful this museum really is. I can't recommend it anymore.
Jason Watson
The John G Shedd aquarium is a staple of Chicago. It's a must see whether you are a native or tourist. The aquarium shares thousands of species for everyone to enjoy in a clean, friendly environment.
Vicky Vegh
The Field Museum is full of one-of-a-kind finds. It is magnificent collection were everyone is assured to find something that interests them. Val Kilmer movie buffs and lion enthusiasts should be sure to check out the Taxidermied Tsavo Lions the film Ghost and the Darkness was based of off. Dino enthusiasts will enjoy the most complete T. Rex skeleton ever found, Sue, and the largest specimen ever discovered, found just two years, Maximo the Titanosaur. They also have a special exhibit running right now featuring the highest ranked entries from last years Nature Photography Contest which is exquisite. It does cost a little extra unless you get the City Go Pass and the it's one a few special exhibits you can choose to get into with the pass.
Andrew Negru
Love the museum. It was a super cold day in Chicago and we decided to go to the museum. I haven't been in ages and I really enjoyed myself. You must go and see all of the wonderful attractions
Maribel Chacon-Torres
Great place to walk, stroll or ride your bike. Parking is pricey, but it is part of a tourist attraction with so many options for everyone. The lakefront is beautiful.
Jack Van Orden
My favorite museum since I was 5 years old (I'm now 37). I've been here too many times to count. The Field Museum is a national treasure and I can't imagine my life without this amazing resource. It's history, it's science, it's anthropology, it's paleontology, it's Egyptology, it's everything.
Jennifer Skippergosh-Realtor
My sons first time there and he loved it! They were great all around and so was the shark 4-d movie!
Aaron Williams (Scooter)
So much to learn in so little time. This place is spacious, clean and lots of fun for the family. Great place for field trips.
Nicholas Flamel
The greatest museums in the world are in Chicago especially the field museum they are amazing. The exhibits team and the exhibits are so beautifully stunning and well crafted
Jennifer Angel Ruiz
This place is amazing, has a lot of things, like animals plants, history of humans and jewelry and a lot of other things, is a great place and is not that expensive, right now was 40 dollars for out of state people and included a 3d movie, but you will need a lot of time if you want to see everything with detail.
Michael Joseph
For a stunning view of the skyline and a fantastic place to view the Navy Pier fireworks the Museum Campus is home to multiple amazing locations. I highly recommend showing up earlier in the evening to find a parking spot near the Planetarium. This spot offers one of the most stunning, unobstructed views of the beautiful Chicago Skyline! There is so much to see and do right here in Museum Campus!
J Rock
Didn't get robbed or shot so that's a plus. Being Chicago you have to expect as much. Area was much nicer back in the day before the downfall.
Crys K
You could spend days here! First and foremost, the City Pass is your best friend. It saves you money if you intend to visit multiple attractions and it allows you to line jump (yes, just like Disneyland).
The aquarium had more things to look at than I could have guessed. We probably spent the most time there.
The planetarium is suitable for all ages and had several films to choose from. There's quite a bit to take in here, too.
The natural history museum was incredible and sadly where we spent the least amount of time. We rushed through in order to make it to Soldier Field for a game, otherwise, we would have taken in the various levels of displays. Please make an effort to spend some time here (and at each of the attractions on campus).
Danella
I went for the Faith in Place, Green Team Summit which was enlightening and informative. The museum is a unforgettable wealth of visual knowledge, always a worthwhile educational experience. I also viewed their aesthetic landscape and garden area which I enjoyed. Everyone should visit for a unique experience.
Kimberly Granholm
Lots to be seen and explored at the field museum. A place to learn and explore the world in a unique way. For children and adults alike it is a great adventure and there is always something new to discover. There is a wide range of the museum's collection from fossils to taxadermy to gems, meterorites to ancient civilization and much more! Go see the world preserved as it once was and learn how this connects to our lives on our planet today!
Sergio Mendez
Very nice place.
Lots of stuff to do around.
Very clean.
Very friendly staff.
Safe and secure.
Strongly recommend.
Patrick Brown
There is a lot to see here so try and plan your visit to get the most of it. I went to see the Death exhibition, but the collection of birds was amazing.
Preston Leigh
This is designed with excellence. Easy pedestrian movement without having to contend with a lot of car traffic. Nice water views and views of skyline. Lot of greenery.
Scott Harris
Went to Shedd Aquarium and really enjoyed it
Vilma Sekona - Realtor
This review is about the venue we attended here.
If you never seen mind blowing pyro tech show or listened to music which won't leave your ears for weeks after the concert is over - see Rammstein

The Field Museum was fascinating! I felt like I did not have enough time in one day to see everything. There were so many things to look at that were fascinating.
Mandy Kirby
A variety of museums to select from and many open spaces to enjoy the beautiful landscape and surrounding areas. A few food carts of different sorts
Phil Spencer
The kids loved this place! I enjoyed coming here as a child and now bringing my own here is a full circle experience. It was definitely busy but the flow is set up in such a way that it never seemed overcrowded. Lots of stroller accessibility if you need it. Definitely going to be bringing everybody back here at some point.
G.C. Hung
The CTA Bus Route 146 Museum Campus can take visitors around the Field Museum, the Shedd Aquarium, and the Adler Planetarium, Soldier Field, and Northerly Island. Surprisingly, when you reach the Adler Planetarium, the CTA Bus Driver may tell you to get off the bus and wait for the next one, as the one you were riding drives off "Not In Service". Then, visitors can walk around the Museum Campus, view the Chicago Skyline, and enjoy the Adler Planetarium Observatory. Get ready for a long walk around the Museum Campus.
Nathan Prewett (Screwyluie)
Worth going, I saw everything I wanted in a couple hours. I wish there was more, especially for the price. The building itself is beautiful
Ray Hutchings
Stunning views of the city skyline.
Admin D Ball
If you're looking for something absolutely fantastic to do, Museum campus is the place to be in Chicago at the Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium and also the planetarium a beautiful Park which is bordered by beautiful Lake Michigan. Buy the CityPASS with all of the options and spend the weekend well worth the money a beautiful city to walk around in you feel very safe it always seems to be clean. Very surprising for a big city. Please check out Chicago go to Lou Malnati's pizza.
Shane Conrad-Davis
Always a gorgeous getaway from downtown Chi. Spacious, green, and glorious. Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, and the Adler Planetarium sit on this lakeside property for the public of Chicago. BEST view of Chicago skyline or Navy Pier fireworks. Not to mention it connects directly to the semi private beach nearby. 😉 Take your family or romantic date here. Period.
Terrie Sanchez
Wonderful museum. Our family enjoyed all the Mexican heritage and the prehistoric exhibits!
devika puri
Fields musuem is another must visit in Chicago and now with the new huge dynasoaur Mimio ....its so long that had a tough time to capture the whole picture with my mobile ....so much to know and learn...really appreciate the way the museum team has put in efforts to preserve so many artifacts, animals preserved, stones metals etc....the precious stones gallery is also worth seeing.👍👍👍👍👍
Matt Surber
Amazing collection of all kinds of natural history, it's easy to spend a full eight hours here and come back many more times to see what you missed.
Eric Sheu
Great park area to visit if you're around the area for the number of museums in the area. Extremely well kept and conveniently located a short walk from the subway.
Kaaren Mikus
How cool! We could wander the levels and halls for days looking at the history and wildlife. Looking forward to the next visit.
Ana Benitez
My family and i spend a beautiful time in this museum!! Enjoy and discover the wonderful of God create!! Is priceless
Jaeger C-137
Great museum, lots to see. Spent 4 hrs and still needed more time.
C Vynatheya
The whales and dolphins are the best part of this experience. Most of the fun discovery areas (especially for children) are closed. Everything else is average - the fish and stuff in the aquariums are like any other place.
Troy Layne
Had a great visit. So much to do here, it's a lot to try to squeeze into one day & we could've spent two days here. It's expensive and often crowded, but still an amazing place.
Queen Zoaya Counts
This was one of the best museums that I ever visited. I visited so many sites and my judband and I enjoyed every exhibit.
Don Manuel Presents
This was such a fun place to visit with so many different things to see and do. Definitely a must check place when in Chicago
Wuliao Hao
Really cool area no matter indoor or outdoor. Good place to hangout, to relax, or to watch a sunrise. It is such a treasure that this city provides us for life.
Jeff Rose
Great place to visit if you're a tourist or even a local.excellent views of the city, even on a crummy day. Of course you should visit the planetarium and aquarium. They are can't miss places. If you're a local, both musuems have free days, so make sure to check them out for free. Definitely worth a visit!
Reynaldo Rosales
Great place!! To come enjoy a day with the family and watch some fish 🐟 and see all types of big and small fish!! There dolphin show is nice short but nice and there dinosaur 4D was great also nice experience with the kids and parents will love it you won't regret it!! There tickets are little expensive but worth it!! Order in advance so you won't have to wait in line!!!
Maggie Baker
So much to do in all of the museums, breathtaking exhibits and beautifully curated grounds. No mater your interests there's a little something for everyone. Super easy to walk from one to the next.
Bonus tip: If its a nice day out definitely give yourself time to grab a treat from a street vendor and just find a spot and enjoy the park as well.
Elena Parrish
I enjoyed my visit, l went to see the death exhibit.
Deja Cooper
With a family of 5 we felt the museum was very Affordable, clean, and fun. My kids range from (3yo, 5yo, and 10yo) and there was so something for everyone. We even enjoyed lunch in the Cafe in the lower level and felt the portions were huge while the prices weren't bad. We did have left overs that we regret to have thrown away however we completely understand not carrying food around one of the greatest museums.
We absolutely LOVED Sue. That was their favorite exhibit by far but I think mine is Egypt. Either way we had so much fun, our only regret was not having another day to go and see more.
Raphael
With three museums on site, you will find something that everyone will enjoy.
Meagan Krubeck
Very cool show at the planetarium. Get CitiPass to skip lines and shows! Coat check is handy. The views outside were amazing!
Phillipe Sobon
Great overall event space and a beautiful landscaping job around soldier field and all the museums surrounding. Highly recommend a drive around to see the lake as well as the stadium.
Joe Todd
I really really enjoyed my time here. My only regret was (and it's my own fault) that I scheduled a couple of shows (Planet Nine and another) and I ran out of time to see everything I wanted as we had another engagement to get to. I won't make that mistake again as I want to come back and see everything
larissa waring
Such a classic building! Always have a great experience. Need to get more concessions help, but assume it'll get better with time
stanley wojdyla
I love Museums there is so much to learn about History and lot More
Brandon Joseph
This museum was really cool. Too many things to take pictures of. Price was good because of my active duty military status but they give a reasonable rate for students.
Rick Uski
Soldier Field is one of my favorite places on earth. There are very few things I'd rather be doing than taking in a Bears home game. I do find the lack of beer guy & billions of people in line for beer instead to be an opportunity for improvement, as is traffic management before the game; otherwise fantastic experience.
Teddy Needham
Really cool area, haven't been back since I was a kid. Look out for the free admission for Illinois residents at the field museum, such a co thing.
Keith K
If you like dinosaurs, this is the place for you! See Sue, the most complete T. rex fossil in the world.
Bobbe Wright
Southside, below the "L" is a nother great place for Chicago visitors to get away from city noise hustle and bustle. Very nice lakeshore stroll to observatory and museum with beautiful views of the city. I would suggest grabbing a bike share bike at the fountain and ride along this lakeshore trial.
Habib Ahmad
👌 …
Natally Cardoso (Naty)
This museum is wonderful, I recommend it.
FERNANDA LÓPEZ
Impressive museum full of a great collection of dinosaur skeletons, totally recommended :)
Corey Donovan
We went to the Shedd Aquarium today and just happened to be in the Museum Campus. It’s a little oasis inside of the iron jungle that is Chicago. Parking is outrageous, but expected.
Norbert Carballo
I have visited this museum many times in the past, but not in recent years. I was impressed with the improvements. I recommend that you pay the extra fee and visit all three special exhibits and the 3D movie."The Machine Inside" and the "Cyrus Tang Hall of China" are excellent, with many interactive displays. The "Underground Adventure" is the same I saw many years ago, so it is getting a bit outdated, but it is still worthwhile visiting if you have the time. See also the "Tsavo Lions", even if it is a bit out of the way. When I was there on 9/15/21 there was a friendly staff person explaining the exhibit in some detail, including why these lions are maneless even though they are males. If you saw the movie "The Ghost and the Darkness", you probably noticed that there the lions had manes, which was not the case in real life.
Anna
So much to see. Beautiful and a bit overwhelming. A must stop.
Ray Cudaback
So much to see and it's all amazing, definitely a trip worth taking and then some.
Britt Wilson
Great place. Parking is expensive. Park off site and have a blast
Thomas James
Visited Shedds Aquarium and had a great visit. Felt bad for the larger fish being kept in such small tanks! I am pretty sure this is where I got covid too but that's not the aquariums fault!
Atticus Ball
Awesome, information and fun exhibits, definitely check out the evolving world and ancient America exhibits!
Kara Chan
This a a huge museum, we walked through it for more than 5 hours and we still had not go through everything with the all pass. Sue the T Rex is huge and very cool.
Aaron Guthrie
This was fun. I paid $12 for general admission (films not included) and learned a lot of new things about space. They had a lot of science activities to do for all ages. They had a telescope set up and we were able to look at the sun! For activity for a very reasonable price. Photo of one of the cool exhibits.
Muhammad Williams
Outside of the madness on the highway it's a beautiful place full of attractions for the family. Definitely going back later in the fall!
Shariefa Mohammad
It’s worth the Visit and the Money, my kids Enjoyed at the Shedd Aquarium
Jasmine Goble
Beautiful and well maintained area. There is so much to do and see. A wonderful place to enjoy whenever you're in Chicago, or to make a trip for!
Kaleb Nygaard
This is the most beautiful spot in and of itself but also because of the view of the Chicago skyline! I highly recommend everyone take a walk, jog, or bike ride along the lake from navy pier to museum campus along the lake shore.
Zach Dixson
Very beautiful a lot to see make sure u wear comfy shoes lol
Jason Kleinschmidt
Great to walk to different museums for those with a variety of interests. Just park and walk to each place along with being right on the lake.
Jeff Lauchner
I went through the Shedd Aquariam with my son, who was in a wheelchair, and his service dog. The dog was not allowed on certain walkways, especially near the dolphins.
Roger Davidson
We went on a Sunday got a nice parking space everything was good we didn't know they closed early so we can get to go through the whole place but
Sherry Larson
An absolutely wonderful aquarium,. Hope to go back and see the museums..lots of people but did not feel crowded.i'm in a wheelchair and the beautiful building had been altered to be wheelchair friendly ...as friendly as it can be.
mike porter (Rose Tinted Archer)
Lovely grounds to walk around with good accessibility to all 3 institutions.
Maria Coleman
Just Spectacular. Nice and clean and plenty of space for people to move around to see the displays.
Smevin Bravis
Really sweet views! Great for people watching, too. Also I proposed to my wife here, I like to think the dazzling sight of the city and the lake made it easy to say yes😋 …
Dave Ormstedt
Awesome place for the kids. Great exhibits, a little play place. Cafes for snacks and drinks with outdoor seating!
Mitch Arendt
The hall of birds is lovely, I really enjoyed the wild color and dinosaurs of the deep exhibitions! It's a fun place for everyone.
Teghan Ivy
Kids had a great time learning about dinosaurs! The exhibits were nice and had great information to offer.
Maybeyourdaddy ?
A great concert venue. I saw Odesza, it was the best show I've ever seen in my life. $20 beers were a little crazy.
SCG
What a treasure trove of Chicago cultural institutions on the shore of Lake Michigan: Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, and the grand Field Museum of Natural History.
Teresa Benton
Museum campus is nice. We visited the Planetarium. We were dropped off by an Uber and left on the Chicago tour bus. The planetarium came with two shows that were pretty cool. My 4 y.o. enjoyed her visit.
Kasia HP
I enjoyed the park around Field Museum today
Berta Vasquez
Attended a private event. Great service. Great experience walking through the museum privately.
Helenmarie Chamberlain-Snook
Saw Elton John at Soldier field. It seemed well organized and plenty of security.
Susan Cook
We visited Soldier field fir tge Bears vs Dolphins NFL game. Itcwas outstanding.
Tarik Amach
Always fun to be here and feel very welcomed by the staff.
Saket Pofali
Great place. There is enough here to learn that one day will not be sufficient. Each section needs it's own day.
David Newman
We went to the Planetarium just for something to do. If you have children in school, nice place to visit. For older adults, kind of boaring. The best thing was the Planetarium show. We went to 3 of them.
Wade Moore
You can spend so many hours here. Everything's great. $14 cheeseburgers tho? Meh
Allison Donofrio
The Field Museum is truly a city treasure. You could spend all day inside and never see the same thing twice. If you go on free days or Bank Of America days, base admission is waved with ID or credit card presented. Then, you can splurge on a movie or special exhibit. But even if you can't see the special exhibits, you will still see some fantastic things.
N. L.
Just a cool museum. If you're making a day trip consider purchasing a package to go to this and other places within walking distance like the Shedd and planetarium.
Jamie Glisson
Such a great area! However our favorite stop was the hotdog stand for the authentic Chicago style hotdogs. We ate them on the steps of the field museum the visited the museum. After that we walked around a but and grabbed some city rental bikes and headed back towards Millennium Park.
Damien Burke
Can easily spend a couple of days seeing everything in the museums and still want to go back.
Christobal Urquiaga
A great place to visit any time of the year. Lots of great aquatic animals. You can touch the rays and the sturgeons. City pass is a must if you're visiting
Megan Porter
Do yourself a favor and up the lake a little when you leave the Museum (if the weather is nice). Lots to see and just a gorgeous place to walk/take in the sights.
Walker Shears
Absolutely amazing. By far one of if not the best museum I've ever been too. Would definitely recommend for any history buff
Nathan Price
My experience at the Field Museum was magnificent and memorable in many ways. The exhibits were out of this world amazing!!! I was here for a Christmas party with a friend. I absolutely loved it!
Anica Burns
The Shedd Aquarium is a bit pricey and the toddlers grew a bit bored of all the fish because there are so many to see but definitely recommend.
felicia sackey
Although the day we visited was foggy, it was still a beautiful visit. All the museums were within walking distance of each other ( there are bicycles to rent if you want too). Get snacks before going in though and pay attention to time if you have many places to visit in one day.
Dimitar Nikolov
Very good and beautiful area, can see the shoreline of the lake and all the buildings.
Very good photo location as well.
Saja abu hassan
Shedd Aquarium was great, was packed with families. Yet we managed to enjoy our time there. Tio:Purchase your tickets online to avoid the long queue !
Scott Wiley
Best shot of the city can be found right here. It was brutal cold and the lake was frozen. Only the creeking of the frozen top against the edge and the wind could be heard
Christian Ortiz
had fun with my nieces and nephew they love to learn about animals and they also learned about africa along the way
Jezabel Cruz
A must when in Chicago. There's lots to do and the shows are pretty cool especially Laguna.
Felicia H
Shedd Aquarium is a must if you have never been!
Chase Hamilton
What a great museum. The dinosaurs take the cake but there are hours and hours of exhibits with all kinds of fascinating displays. There are great interactive exhibits that you’re encouraged to touch, great for kids, and plaque descriptions that are succinct and easy to digest but still informative and keep you moving.
MarQuita Marie
Took my mom for her birthday.. we enjoyed ourselves 😁 …
Walker Holdeman
the field museum is awesome ive never had a bad time here always something new to look at!
Veronica Diaz
Make sure to go early because they is a lot to see and you definitely can not do the entire museum in short amount of time... it can be overwhelming
Yasenia Naidu
It is so big! It's definitely a great experience. Very clean and onsite place to eat is great.
Jacqueline Chapman
Very educational experience it was alot to see it would have taken me a lot of time to see the whole Museum
Ian Mize
Amazing experience. My family only had a short time in the field museum but we loved everything we saw. Every exhibit was interesting and there was tons to see. Would love to go back. Would have given them 4 stars for the prices at the cafe but they honored my wife's teacher discount, which was very sweet of them.
Brittany Riché Amen-Cridell
The Shedd Aquarium is always a great experience. Everytime we go, we almost have completed the entire exhibit. That won't stop us from returning though.vcant wait to go back.
Shannon LoConte
I love walking through this area. A lot of work is obviously put into maintaining a clean, safe area for visitors and residents.
Jeremiah Weatherwax
Very nice place to spend time. Relax or go to all the incredible museums.
Antwan Chandler
Great experience .. Chicago weather and the sights were amazing..
Richard Giacone (Richie)
Simply brilliant a must see for everyone. Whether your a history buff or a lover of knowledge you will get plenty out of your visit. Of course there is the whole Bears and the Monsters of the midway aspect also.
Rakesh A
Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium and Campus plan to visit same and it takes more than a day to explore everything.
Corey Taylor Simpson
Could've spent most of the day looking at every exhibit & watching every show they put on.
Dean Wilkins
Huge place. Get there early or spend a couple of days in order to see it all without rushing.
Anna Shum (Drateraaa)
Great place to walk around and enjoy the weather (however when I was there, it was too cold to walk for very long). Fantastic but if the city skyline and the lake... And of course the great museums themselves!
Marat Region
Whenever possible, we go to the museum with the whole family.
Children under 10 are not interested.
Michelle K
Haven't been to the aquarium in a long time. It was such a nice visit and the campus is beautiful. It was a great day to sit outside by the lake and have lunch.
Greyson Fox
Awesome. All access pass so worth it. Spent 6hrs here without a dull moment. They also had an all gender BR which is pretty awesome
Marybeth Dykstra
Wow this place is awesome! Next time I go I'm bringing my kids! There is so much to see! And the food is so good. I thought it was a little expensive but you get a lot of food for what you pay. But all in all it was an awesome experience! Definitely going back!
Kent Roundy
The wing leading into SUE is remarkable. I quite enjoyed the fossils that come from the fossil Butte Pational Park area.
Sambit Sahoo
Great place to visit. Lots and lots of things to see! Kids enjoyed immensely!

Ron Bajaroff
Amazing and cool place very suggested to vist when you go down in Chicago
Jake Reaves
Quality views of the skyline. Nice place to have lunch or relax. Plenty of areas to run and bike on the lakefront trail
dvc carig
The campus is composed of the following:
🐧 Shedd Aquarium
🐘 Field Museum
✨ Adler Planetarium
During the summer, a lot of tourists are visiting the area soo expect it to be crowded. However during the winter months, you can enjoy the museums in a lesser crowd and could admire everything it has to offer without the hassle of everyone.
pairofdirtyshoes
Field musuem is a must visit

I can't say enough great things about Museum Campus!! I have visited Museum Campus and each time a new experience. Best time to go is spring and summer to take in energy of city, beautiful view of Lake Michigan, and to enjoy a stroll through Grant Park. If you're in mood water taxis are available during Summer months to head back and forth to Navy Pier
When visiting either Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, or Planetarium the experience is excellent!! Easy access to all 3 museum you find parking. Parking is a little tough to find, but there's a parking lot available. Staff usual friendly and knowledgeable. Welcoming atmosphere for everyone!
Parth Bhatt
Must visit, it has 3 places to visit basically, adler planetarium, shedd aquarium and field museum. Great view of the city by Lake Michigan.
Stewart G
Soldier Field is an amazing place to see a concert. The City of Chicago definitely needs to work on a traffic plan. When all the roads are closed for the Chicago Marathon, they should not be having concerts at Soldier Field. 1 Planning by the City of Chicago is extremely extremely poor.
