This a great place to enjoy nature. There’s a beautiful path by the water with a variety of flowers and other beautiful plants. There are many mature trees, lots of green space, a playground, pool, and field house. It’s nice seeing other runners when I exercise here too!

Such an incredible park! Probably the best thing about this space is all the wild life. Lots of different birds, turtles, and critters.

Even tho they keep the park really clean and trimmed, the little lake is not in good conditions. Dead animals dead fishes the water looks so gross; it stinks so badly and the little lake has a really good view to look at and little ducks swimming their with different kind of birds. I would love for the community or the city to start cleaning the lake REALLY good underwater and the top theirs so much garbage on the lake

It has a great ice skating rink. Not crowded and staffs are great! A good place to take your kids to learn skating.

I went today and it was very calm and relaxing, everyone respected each other's space. There was beautiful views of the sun and dogs everywhere enjoy the day. Sadly it was a bit cold and had to leave early. Overall it was a great day.

This park is beautiful. It has a pool, tennis and basketball courts, baseball, softball, and soccer field, it has a gorgeous lagoon and walking path through nature. The park brings the community together and its full of life.

Not a bad spot to take a walk in. Fishing is ok if you're into that sort of thing. They have a newer playground and ok baseball field. Always enjoy coming here.

McKinley Park is a great big beautiful city park. This Community park provides a lot for children and adults alike. I enjoy watching people having fun doing things such as walking pets, hiking through the nature trails. The park has so many different attractions and activities such the basketball, soccer, baseball courts, Fieldhouse and swimming pool. People definitely love this amazing park. I recommend this park for everyone.

I love going there with my kids its very calm and peaceful. My kids love feeding the ducks and walking through the little trail where all the bushes are. It looks like a jungle lol. The playground is awesome too. Also there's plenty of space for people to grill and have a little party or get together

Park is great to walk, run, do exercise, bring your kids here! I have been coming here as a child and I absolutely love it! Scenery is beautiful and there are always so many geese around! Restrooms are decent yet they can be a little more clean. I have never been to the pool here but it does get packed during the summer. I have also heard when I came here a year ago they started doing Farmer's Markets which I thought was cool I have never been to it and I don't know if they still do it.

This is a wonderful public space. There is a beautiful pond and bird sanctuary with a nice path to walk around and forget the city. In the summer the place is full of butterflies, and a bunch of cool birds and insects. There is a well maintained artificial turf soccer field. A public pool for summer and ice rink for winter. Basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball fields, and a ton of open space. They recently added a dog park. I am very grateful to have this place in my city and neighborhood.

Participated in a yoga class led by DeePaola and Cristina this morning. They are great instructors and it was wonderful to exercise out in the park and enjoy the beautiful weather. I highly recommend their classes and hope more people in our community will join. Check out the McKinley Park news site for the scheduled classes. They simply ask for a donation, whatever you can afford.

The place is just good, you can go there be in calm at least that how it when for me, just near the lake and just take a sit near a tree or just walking around the lake, I recommend this place to go for a walk.

Has a soccer field, baseball and softball field, football field, tennis court, ice rink, and its main building for pool access and summer activities. It has a bathroom open for public and parking lot also free. Great for cycling, running, or getting kids tired for a day. They added a new dog park! A very active park so you'll feel great and motivated.

I really like this park its great for workouts a relaxing walk, family time and much more. Many activities to do like pool, tennis, basketball, batmanton, baseball and soccer. The lagoon is nice to be around not the cleanest water but still quite peaceful. Many homeless people around but for the most part they keep to themselves. But definitely recommend coming with someone else not alone especially after sunset.

McKinley is always a nice place to visit. Such a nice space to have in the middle of this hectic neighborhood. Even though a lot of people abuse it and leave trash behind, it mostly stays to stay clean and safe.

McKinley park is very large in size and the trails are extensive with beautiful greenery wherever you look. The pond hosts plenty of wild animals so it is perfect for fishing. I enjoy very much riding my bike around this park. Not minding how much trash there is the park is amazing.

They've made a lot of improvements since I was a kid. It's good to see they continually add new things. Took some pictures of a neat path area they made recently. Went there early for opening day of the Farmer's Market and there were only about 6 vendors. Passed by later and it seemed like there were a few more, hopefully this becomes a bigger event.

One of my favorite parks and closed to where I live the only reason I given a 3 stars is because this is such a beautiful park but they need to have it clean, more public restrooms available, expand the children area, it needs more services including good customer service because the staff are rude... Is great park to relax, meditate, sports, children playground but needs to be taken care of...

Very nice park with plenty of of nature around you. But I am ashamed of people who dont throw trash where it belongs !! In the trash cans !!! Saw tissues,empty boxes used for feeding the geese and duck,empty cans. All just thrown in the brush, on the trails. So sad. Are people that inconsiderate. It's all our park,let's take care of them.

I like to visit the farmers market they have there every Sunday during the summer. They offer sweets, whole coffee beans and honey. Last year there was also yoga sessions- unsure if they still offer it. I also like to walk around the lagoon, very peaceful

It is now more family friendly with the increased police presence in the area.was dangerous for women and children in the past,but now the park has become much better for recreational activities.i also like that they brought back the fishing derby.I have fond memories of the park from childhood

The Park District is always cleaning and improving this park. The pool, tennis and basketball courts are popular this time of the year. People like to fish in the pond and bird watch as many birds like to stop by as they migrate. It's a great place for a run or take a walk with your dog. There's also a soccer field and the Blackhawks built a skating rink for winter enjoyment.

This is a beautiful park to enjoy with the family. My kids love this park to ride their bikes and scooters. Playground is not too big and usually crowded. If you enjoy nice relaxing walks this is a great place. Delicious natural ice cream, corn, chicharrones and fruit right accross the street from the park on the corner of 37th and Damen.

Very nice park! I went for a run and the pavement was clear and flat. They have many ducks and geese there. They do have a parking lot along Pershing Avenue. They have have parking spots around the park.

Been coming here since I was in diapers its a really unique park w a huge pond for fishing great scenery nice jogging trail only when it's super hot and humid it used to have an odor when you drive past it. I don't know if they took care of this problem because it's been a couple years since I been here in summer.

I have had McKinley Park bookmarked for sometime after seeing pictures and reading a review of it shared by Yelper (Christine B). I vowed to make it an option once warmer temperatures started to roll in, and because COVID-19 limited my options of trails to run at. Lacing up my run shoes, then heading outside of my door, I did not expect to run at the park until I got inside of my vehicle and all of a sudden considered running in a different area instead of on the west-side of Chicago. I dedicated my initial run at this park to Ahmaud Arbery, an African American male who was shot and killed while on a run in Brunswick Georgia. The gunmen, father and son followed Ahmaud in their vehicle and shot him, claiming they thought he was a burglar. For me as an African American male myself, it is heartbreaking because Ahmaud was another victim of racial profiling which seems to be never-ending in our society. And if not for the video going viral online, his death would have been concealed. Now as for the park, not only is there parking surrounding the perimeter, but there is a small parking area near its gymnastics center as well. The park is gorgeous! It is also well-maintained, and there was no uneven or broken surface whatsoever, at least on the path I ran on. There was Chicago Police presence, but even without their presence, I would not have had any worries of my safety even with the history at this park let alone surrounding area. The park has a unique design in comparison to a park I frequently run at on the west-side known as Humboldt Park. I loved how its soccer field was in the very center which gives off an energetic vibe to coincide with the sense of peace that nature brings. Along with enjoying its inner beauty, there are an ample amount of activities available at this park such as basketball, baseball, softball, football, soccer, tennis, swimming, fishing, and even ice skating. During my run, the lagoon became my significant landmark to build a route that I will eventually run from time to time when I get the urge to visit the park. Running along it near the bird & butterfly sanctuary, I encountered a cute red-winged blackbird coming very close to me chirping away. The symbolism of seeing a red-winged blackbird means that you need to draw out from inner self that beautiful you. I have to say that encountering the red-winged blackbird was one of the main two highlights of my run along with dedicating it to Ahmaud. It is always such a heartwarming experience encountering wildlife let alone interacting with. I enjoyed my whole experience at McKinley Park; the park and area was a breath of fresh air: different infrastructure, culture, and of course that sense of Chicago White Sox pride being that it is located on the south-side of Chicago, and Guaranteed Rate Field is only 3 miles away. Now that I have gotten a feel of this side of town, I imagine that I will yearn to be in it once again from time to time. ~Blessings~ Thomas G

The employees aren't very friendly. Sometimes they are very rough on kids who don't know how to skate. Most of the time the employees are just inside the trailer. The rink is fun to skate though.

Awesome water park for the kids. The only thing I hated wsa that the park district needs to fix the water fountain. The water runs really low. You can barely get any water out of the sprout. The park was beautiful and clean

McKinley Park is one of the best in Chicago. The lagoon is beautiful and lively with water fowl and other birds. The paths are many and great for walking or riding your bike. There are many tennis courts, basketball, softball and baseball diamonds, and a giant soccer field with turf. The playground is pretty nice. There is an olympic size swimming pool and a kids water play area open in the summer. The winter is my favorite because the ice rink opens!! I wish the park would open the skate space for rollerskating during the year, but I guess I can't have it all! Most importantly, it's a safe park.

I live near the park and I come here to walk my dog and run sometimes.. It's alright.. nothing special.. Last year (2016) they found a decapitated head in the lagoon and the cops were all over the place for like 2 weeks, but besides that it doesn't get much action..
