Reviews of Maggie Daley Park
Touré Don-Tay
Had a great time at Maggie Daley Park today so I thought I would share my experience. The kids in the park played very well together and there was plenty of space for all of them to have fun.
Only complaint I have is parking near the park. It’s only a few places you are able to park so you may want to us public transport, walk, or ride share.
Lennon Garcia
Beautiful downtown park with lots of things to do! They have a "street sign" that shows where to go for the different areas. Some of the things they have include a rock climbing area, an ice skating rink, tennis courts, mini golf and more. We mostly spent our time in the play garden during our visit. Signs with appropriate age ranges are provided in each of the play areas that I think are very helpful for safety purposes. My 1.5 year old nephew sure did have a lot of fun playing in the playground. In general, this a great place to enjoy the day with your loved ones!

Are you a kid at heart? Then you need to visit this park! The best part? So many! Let’s start with the fact that there’s so many different things to do. You can rock climb, go roller skating and there’s different parks for different ages which is really nice if you’re worried about your little ones playing. We went to a part of the park that was open for all ages and we had a blast! We took fun pictures and ran around doing different things like going down slides. The worst part? The park does close at 9pm during the week, we went on a Tuesday. I did like that there was security who kept an eye on the whole area so it felt safe, especially as it got darker. We hope to go back so we can try more things!

Simply magnificent. The best park for children and not so children in the city, its games are spectacular, great slides, ups and downs, suspension bridges, mirror mazes, hammocks, enchanted forest and more. Lots of fun and action for everyone! It has protective rubber floors and all the necessary warnings so that accidents do not occur. Spacious and comfortable spaces, so that all children can enjoy without inconvenience. If you have children it is a must place to visit.
Joseph Kirsch
Awesome place to take your kids. Arguably the best playground in the city. However, many of the playground structures have ladders and signs posted for 5-12 yr olds, although there are a few areas for younger kids and water fountains to splash in on hot summer days.

Maggie Daley Park is a grate park for people of all ages. It has many attractions and things to do such as a rock climbing wall ,mini golf and an excellent playground too name a few things. This park also has beautiful skyline views of Chicago and plenty of green space too play or relax and take in the area. This park is also a short walk from Lake Michigan. I would definitely come back here again when I am in Chicago. Out of all the parks I have been to on my travels I would say this is one of the best parks.
Christina Merriweather
This place is beautiful! Took my 4 year old here yesterday and she easily could have stayed for hours. There’s a large play area filled with climbing spaces, multiple levels of slides, swings, and more. The only thing I didn’t see were bathrooms close by. With a 4 year old and an infant, not having changing spaces and bathrooms close by can be a little anxiety producing. But overall, beautiful park. Will definitely be back when I’m in the area again.
Sreekanth Kancharla
This place is near to the Millenium Lakeside garage. Parking is the major concern, so this garage parking is walkable distance only and cheaper. It costed me $12.
The park is free and kids friendly. They can enjoy some time but not very long. The photos available online seems nice pictures but in reality, the kids play area is small only and not many activities also. Some of the play area became old. What ever the kids are playing, it is on parents risk.
The place can be viewed on bikes or scooters. The scooters are available for rent if we want to buy over there.
Mark DLR
Best playground bar none. Something for all ages. Some parts are age specific. Kids spent a few hours here. A must see if you’re visiting with kids.
PS
Beautiful park with so many rides and activities for kids mostly between 2–12 years old …. It was sad to see some of the elderly getting on those rides meant for younger kids
Gabriel Schiavinato
Beautiful place. However…
Climbing wall was closed, there were signs everywhere saying it was open.
Most of the playground slides were too fast (not the right angle) even for bigger kids. I watched a few getting hurt and complaining about some discomfort.
Many bugs (don’t forget repelente).
Mario Pacio
Nice park and nature. The scenery was good. Great place to bike or walk in Downtown Chicago.
Nicole Boguslawski
So fun. We only went to the playground areas for kids. It was so impressive and we will be back again to play! Thanks Chicago for a great trip and giving the kids a place to expend their energy! Easy enough parking with good rates. Enough seating for the parents as well.
Marius Jankevičius
Please - if you gave kids, bring them in here! It's a must. We have seen many playgrounds all over the world, and this one is on top of the list.
Ernst Guerrier
SPLENDID! An extravaganza genre of Grand Culture Designs for the conveniences for the new generation. This is a great ideology, well exhibited on behalf of the todays and tomorrows young family.
Maggie Daley Park was magnificently, and gorgeously architecturally illustrated. That's awesome! A great canvas! A painting 🎨 which we are allowed to play the partition already written for anyone's to participate. Young Children and the youth in general are most beneficial from the Maggie Daley's dreams to create a special place for the young generation of the 21st Century. Well done Mrs. Maggie Daley. Enjoy your Special new Residence.
Grant Pack: In general is and was specifically well also designs magnanimously for all Art Lovers. A wonderful water Fountain that pitch its perfect musical notes which embracing by a soft melody from the whispering wind singing the ALMIGHTY "ALLELUIA".
The 🌹 Garden with a serpentine or Waving style flowers arrangements with great taste of garden design and engineering.
Again, it's a great canvassing piece, ready set-up as a Mona Lisa for all 🎭 lovers to beautifully completed.
Ernst!

Cool park, nice for kids. Some good attractions.
Bird Eagle
Amazing fun for the kids. Weirdly isolated in the middle of a gigantic city, it feels OK to let your kids run around in here. There are all kinds of different play areas for different ages, often times outside the box and different from normal play areas that you see on a day-to-day basis. It’s hot and there isn’t much shade so come prepared but my kids will never forget this place
Jose Gonzalez (DMA)
Had a great time there. Family fun place and affordable. 18 holes go fast probably in an hour depends on how many people are there. It was challenging but it was fun, bring water.
Santiago Rueda
A lovely park in the middle of the city for kids to play. Different activities, not so crowded and free! We spent a great afternoon in June, our 1 year old boy enjoyed the place but is more for 2-12 kids.
Tammy Owins
Such a lovely park, areas for all ages and kids to explore. Quiet in the morning, cool, shady, fragrant, saw 2 cardinals, yogis on the lawn, families, walkers enjoying our City Treasure.
Genevieve Hebeka
What a great place! Finally reopened, but not fully. The children's area is still under quarantine restrictions. The skating ribbon is open! What a fun time for everyone + single people, dad's and daughters, entire families- all were out enjoying either skating or scooter. Staff at the rental desk were efficient and friendly. VERY clean amenities, plus the rental lockers were affordable, 3$, and roomy enough for a standard backpack and a pair of sneakers (tight fit but it worked!). Rental skates were true to size, worked properly, and were CLEAN. Finally, cancer survivor garden was open, but not much in bloom this time of year. Still very serene, clean, and well maintained.
Firepaw Cooper
Super fun walking for adults and awesome play area for kids. It's a big area, however, and easy for kids to leave your sight, so make sure to be an active participant!
koreen thompson
The best urban park! I love all the climbing. It is really meeting gross motor skills development! It is also beautiful. I love seeing the skyscrapers peak through the trees. I also love that the park is segmented into various small, can keep your eyes on kids areas. Though I will also add it felt very safe.
Kevin Daly
Great park with lots to do. Many areas for the kids and adults to get list in and enjoy. From a large rock climbing wall area, enclosed skate track, mini golf, smaller water features to cool off in, and loads of play sets. Also great area just to stroll around. Park district employees are on site to watch over and help out. Very friendly place to visit.
Marjorie Easley
Maggie Daley Park is awesome! I like going ice skating here in the winter. Def the best ice skating rink in Chicago. There is some slight terrain so you can get some speed going downhill. There are railings along both sides too for people who are still learning how to skate. The lines can get very long, but if you have your own skates, you don't have to wait in line to rent skates. They also have a fast pass that you can buy to skip the line (but when it's busy, it might not save you that much time). In the summer the park has a climbing wall and a huge park for kids. It's so much cooler than the old Daley Plaza - we used to skate at when I was growing up. Check out their Twitter or ig page before you go or on warmer days to make sure that the ice rink is open.
Since covid- you will need to sign up online ahead of time. I highly recommend online booking for the weekends, but during the week, it rarely sells out unless it is a holiday.
Richard Guerra
Fantastic Park. Unique structures for kids. this park seems to be the centerpiece of the Chicago Park District. It's clean well-maintained and safe. There's something for all ages and also water attractions to keep cool during the hot days. There is an area devoted towards climbing and rollerblading. Rentals are available in the building in which you register. Public transportation is great here and there are parking options with several garages.
Manieshia Hampton
Maggie Daley Park has such a wonderful space for kids, and adults alike! There is an area with slides, rope climbing, and more accessible at no cost. There is also a very reasonably priced mini Golf area that is loads of fun for the entire family!
For those who love to exercise in the morning,
this park’s walking path is vast as Maggie Daley, Grant, and Millenium Parks are connected. Being able to walk through all the parks and have a diverse experience proves helpful for motivation! The scene is always changing! I found myself stopping to look at the many gardens, play area and stages!! It’s steps away from the lakeshore so the breeze is soothing for runners and walkers alike!
Great for the entire family!
Christian Wietholt
This is a fun place to take your kids. Surprisingly it gives you a secluded feel although located at the heart of the city. My 6 year old had a great time and at times I felt envious not having a place like this while growing up. This is a big and busy place though and at times it was difficult keeping track of your kids.
Sharlena McKenzie
Loved the play area and had a truly wonderful time with the kids. I gave it 4 stars though because the bathrooms were across the park from the playgrounds and directions to them were not clearly marked. It was quite the stressful run when my toddler said he had to go potty. It would be much nicer if there was even just a single family bathroom in the playground area, especially since you want to change kids in and out of suits to use the splash pad.
The area was clean, the equipment well maintained, the security staff very kind, and the grounds were beautiful. I would highly recommend visiting this park.
Emilia Deem
There are not enough hours in the day to cover all that there is to do here! It's a child's wonderland. I wish there were more places to sit in the shade near the playground as it gets home, but overall a super fun place to go! After exhausting themselves on the slides, my kids and husband had an epic game of hide n seek in the mirror maze.
Joel Hernandez
What an awesome park for the kids and its free. It's a collection of small playgrounds in one giant park. You have parks arranged by the age of your child, the entrances to these little playgrounds have signs with the recommended age limits. You have wall/rock climbing with a roller rink around it for skates or blades (must pay to climb and skate). There is also a pirate ship themed playground. The biggest playground area has a two giant bridge structures with slides and other activities within it. You also have tennis courts for adults and kids. Mini golf which you must pay to play. Fun times.
Stephanie “The Chicago Mom”
Maggie Daley Park is one place to guarantee a wonderful weekend always, from hosting various pop-up to live entertainment and events there’s always something to do the parks broken down to different areas / themes if you would some ares are better suited for younger kids but if your kid’s a runner this might not be the best park playground experience for you. The sprawling landscape is prairie at its best with butterfly garden varieties of flowers there’s always magic flying overhead. We must if saw 4 beautiful butterflies while in line at the event there today. It does get a bit chiller, but that’s really anywhere off the lake and parking is ample just don’t forget where you parked we spent a good 15 min walking around before we realized we were on the wrong floor as they look exactly the same almost but it’s relatively inexpensive to park we used spot hero and saved. There do much to do and explore the largest main playground with the big suspension bridge had some steep slides nested in the hills that can be a tad dangerous with littles running free. There a lot of older kids so it can get to be a mess trying to manage. I have a few more great pics to share too, if I can find them my oldest loved the play ship and tire/saucer swings too. I’d say it’s best for 5/6 and up overall but all will enjoy it big and smalls.
Tina Arteaga
They held a Pokemon community fest. It is a really cool park. Lots of space and things to do for the kids.
Tom Bazan
Beautiful park with several fun options--from climbing, mini golf, or a large playground in the summer, to ice skating in the winter. Not far from either Millennium Park or the lakeshore, it has a beautiful view of the city and the water. It also has a nice (flower) garden that was enjoyable to walk through.
Walker
Beautiful park in downtown Chicago with great views of the city and a few hidden gems like mini golfing, an ice skating ribbon, tennis courts, and rock climbing walls. Maggie Daley Park is a great place to take kids in the summer, and provides fun for folks of all ages all year round. Take a walk through Maggie Daley Park on your way to the Bean and drink in the city along the way.
Otis Gatlin
I dream playground for kids and families to enjoy with all the biggest and best amenities a child could dream of!!!! They have a rock climbing wall, miniature golf, rock climbing for a small fee that makes it a great family outing. I took my daughters and they had a blast and after they played at the park we walked over the BP Bridge to Millennium Park and took more pictures (over 100). Bring snacks and water because concessions are not cheap as well as comfortable shoes because there will be a lot of activity for everyone.
Vanessa Arzu (larzuga1)
This place is a absolutely stunning place for every visitor and Chicagoans alike!!! There is a little for everyone! Family oriented, kid-friendly, romantic friendly, animal friendly, nature friendly; There is a little bit for everyone!!!!
While many people with children find themselves at the park, there are a few quiet spots on the Randolf street side, across from Mariano's. I love to read and I go there because it is almost always quiet, aside from festivals and other activities. Everyone is pretty friendly and respect your space. The view there is absolutely stunning! My favorite of a million favorites in Chicago; The view!
For those of you who have children, I suggest doing what I do when I tag along my nephews nieces with me. ( After losing one for 8 minutes at Navy Pier's Winter Wonderland). I tag all of them. I get these name tags and wrist bands and in permanent marker, I write a note something to the effect of " If I am lost or in case if emergency call my guardian." I place two numbers, my own and another in case of emergency. I do not put the names of the kids however, for the wrong person can use that against them. Before any trip in public outings, I also have a pep talk from the smallest to the biggest. We go through the rules for fun, learning, and respect for others. The main one being "if I can not see you and you can see me that's a problem. I also express to them, if they ever get lost, seek out a police officer or security guard, or a mommy and daddy whose together. If they must ask help from a daddy, ask help from a daddy who has children. And I tell them if a stranger calls them for no reason, scream, holler,... I also may place a tag inside their pants pockets in case they lose one. The bracelets are good because the stay on. Those are my suggestions, though for the most part, the park is safe.
Also, if you get hungry, instead of buying food that costs and arm and a leg, get a healthy abs delicious meal at a sensible price from Mariano's. And if you are a penny pincher, the best deal is right off Michigan and Randolf ( Metra Train Station), if you go downstairs. There is burger king, a subway, a pizza restaurant, a taco restaurant, a healthy shake place, and even a nice lounge for those of you who wants to take drink.
It is a lovely place to be at all times.
Yilin K
I like Millennium park more!
Zyon172001
Loved it 🥰 Very attentive and helpful- clean and welcoming…highly recommend ice skating as it is fun …
Pati Crowley
It really is a great park. Downside is parking ! Parking is outrages if you can't find city street parking.
Park-love how the ages are posted on signs for playground letting you know where the best place to let children play.
Pauline Ie
A huge playground in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Chicago. It's nice to let the kids run around and burn their energy. The only thing is, because it was big and unfenced, you gotta keep track of your kids, especially if you have more than one.
Katherine Aumer
Update 05/29/2022: park no longer has the amazing tower slide. This is very sad. It is still a beautiful and wonderful park, but there is only one tunnel slide left and that's the light house.
Original 2019: Beautiful park! Excellent slides, swings, and water holes. There is a rock climbing area and trampolines. There is some bouldering at the Rock climbing wall but most are 5.2-5.10.
josh prange
Great views, fun activities. New(ish) park is pretty fun and kind of adult sized. Mini golf is a great addition during the warmer months. The ice path in the winter is such a great idea and it’s a great place to just go for a walk.
David McMasters
What an awesome park for kids to play, run around and get all their energy out. The city planned and laid out three park perfectly in a good amount of space. There are lots of playground equipment, roller/ice skating rink, rock climbing and splash pads.
Ryan Sears
Amazing park! Great design and engineering, and amazing job by Chicago Parks and Rec groundscrew at upkeep!
Gerry Horton
Roller blading, climbing, slides, and water fountains. Lots of shade and seating could be a little better. The Hot dog stand has the best chili, onion cheese dogs. Lemon ice is good too.
Iana Tchantchaleishvili
Love that park! Clean, beautiful and magic. I would love to visit again
Stephanie Kisner
I love the hidden serenity from the city just a block away. Great walking path, well kept, gorgeous views of my favorite things (city, water, park). There is a kids playground, rock wall climbing, vendors and a few other things scattered throughout.
Peter Taglia
This is one of the most stunning urban parks anywhere. The children's play areas are loosely organized by age yet all of the areas have the most fantastic universal access design. What is universal access? Almost every feature can be accessed by kids of all abilities and wheelchairs. Instead of putting in easy access features off to the side as an afterthought, this park allows a child in a wheelchair or crutches to move around and play right next to your hyperactive 10 years old climber.
Mark Shoemaker
Amazing views.
Open fields.
Picnic tables with a view.
The lake breeze.
Play areas that incorporate creativity, climbing, and exploring.
Those nest swings 💯
Occasional yoga class takeovers
Maggie Anaya
If you are in Chicago and traveling with small children, this is a MUST! I absolutely love that there are benches close by each play area in shaded areas. Most definitely designed with both parents and kids in mind!
Quintin Crawford
Everyone said Maggie Daley Park was great for kids. So we did an impromptu trip to the city on the Metra because my son is 2.5 and LOVES trains. We moved out of the city right as this opened so it was the first time for all of us.
To get to Maggie Daley from Millennium Park you need to cross of Pritzker Pavilion and over the bridge. Not awesome when there is a concert and you need to go through security or walk around the park.
My son loved every minute of it. We quickly changed him into a swim suit top and bottom and a hat because it was very sunny and he’s pretty fair skinned. Sadly, one of the Splash Pads with dolphins and some other creatures was closed but we did find this whale tail that had water and was such a blast for him. He loved running under and around the tail and the water fell at a rate and strength that was perfect for my little guy. The downsides were this was the only spot without a foam/cork ground covering and rather exposed aggregate which could be a little slippery which lead to a few slips. The other downside here and throughout the park was mix of big and little kids. A lot of the attractions have suggested ages but some people just don’t care. But he just loved this whale tale.
Each side section was nice and not too crowded.
The main park area with numerous slides, bridge, and hills was rather crazy. The park is a great time but with a mix of big and little kids, you might want to keep a close eye on your little kids. The slides are old school steel and I heard about burns but we managed just fine. Kids over 5 here might not want to go home!
Bathrooms aren’t super easy to come by and the park could use a few more water fountains.
I am very proud of Chicago for creating this and keeping with this land for the people. Burnham and Maggie Daley would be very proud!
Dy J
Maggie Daley park is beautiful. There are so many things for kids and adults to do. Wall climbing, an area for kids to ride their scooters, play areas for toddlers and bigger kids. A mini water park area, and so much more.
S McD
Great for kids of all ages! The best spot for families in the city. The slides are amazing and there is something for all ages and climbing running, sliding....a lot of laughing and Smiles!
Santosh Shankergowda
Awesome creative park. Kids love this park. They love to go on the tree house slides, rock climbing , swing and many others. It’s perfect when there is a concert and you can take your kids for some fun
Mario
This is a beautiful park for kids to be kids. There are a lot of things to do here and it keeps the kids happy. The playgrounds are nicely built and are very catchy.
Tiger Rahman
This is a very well designed and maintained fun park with access to different outdoor activities (skating and rock climbing), beautiful sitting gardens, plus some of the coolest playgrounds I've ever seen in my life.
Christopher Stoddard
Incredible city park. Lived in Chicago 15 years ago and was recently back for a short visit with my wife and two young kids. The city has done an amazing job with the park. The kids LOVED the large playground. Its clean, creative, and beautiful. If you have kids, don't skip out on a visit to this park.
Zach Tennant
Incredible park. One of the best I've seen. Our 4 year old had a blast on each different section. Make sure you go all the way through, there are bigger and better types of equipment. There was a splash park as well, small enough for younger children. Highly recommend.
Stacy M
Ice skating was a bonus to find in this large, open park. Lots of handicapped accessible areas & places for the kids to play and burn off energy.
Jonathan Reis
This was an excellent place to let the kids play while the adults unwind. There was lots to do. Slides, forts, climbing structures, and swings.
Omar González
But, open park with climbing walls, skating routes and open spaces to lay in the grass. A great way to spend the day relaxing in Chicago.
Archibald Dessert
Went skating on the ribbon today and had a good time. FYI for people bringing their own skates, it's still free but you need a bracelet before getting on the ice. I don't recall this in the past so it must be a new rule starting this season.
Ali Gaus
Maggie Daley Park is by far the best outdoor kids play area in downtown Chicago. There are activities and play areas for every age group. The playground is free, but some of the other activities, such as mini golf, costs money. The weekends are very busy, so the earlier you get there the better. Also, if you have furry friends, you might want to leave them at home, this park doesn't allow dogs.
Alyssa Lowder
Went ice skating and it was so much fun! Definitely a great price ($14 for skate rentals) and it's free to skate for as long as you want. Love that they have the rail; makes it a great place for beginners who want to learn. There a lot of other activities as well but it was too cold the night we went.
Shiloh Rusk
This park offers so much for families and everyday people of all ages. We love the wall climbing, slides mini golf and it has the most amazing view of the city of Chicago by far!
Jeff Waters
Lots to do and see here. Maggie Dailey Park has climbing walls, slides, rollerblading a giant kids playground, plus nearby there's the Pritzker Pavilion, some amazing gardens, the art museum, mag-mile, food trucks, the lake, bean cloud, so many things it's hard to do a list justice.
Nicholas “Corleone” Bill
What a fun place for people of all ages. My 2 year old had fun walking around and playing on everything and my wife and mom loves the view of downtown and the lake.
Guillaume Allard
Wish every major cities had a park like this. The slides are insane, we loved them.
Unfortunately it was rainning when we were there, so climbing walls were closed.
Ellen Mardula
This was my first time going here and we had a blast!! Many different parks and a couple of splash pads. Each park has an age rating so it makes it easy to navigate. I have a 2 year old and this was an awesome time for her. Would recommend to any family! Plus great views of the skyline!!
joshua pullen
Best park weve ever been too, had plenty of fun stuff to do an play on.... plus the regular patrolling security was nice.
Julzy - Chicago
This is such a beautiful park in the middle of downtown Chicago! So many things to do here year round, whether its playing mini golf during spring, summer, and fall or ice skating in the ribbon during the winter. The views of the Chicago skyline are also spectacular from here. Perfect spot for an engagement or wedding photo shoot. Or just to get out and about with the family or friends.
Chris Cianfaglione
One of the greatest playgrounds/ parks I have seen. Great location adjacent to Millennium Park with lots of different areas
perfect for everyone from 1 to 100!
Jeremy Bennett
Kid focused. Age appropriate at every age! Fun for the kids and parents. Beautiful park with lots of elevation changes. Also very handi-capable accommodating.
Ryan sauders (Rybo)
Awesome park! The skating ribbon was so much more fun than a regular rink! The skating ribbon circles around what looks to be a really awesome rock climbing feature in warmer weather.
Britt (Mamacita)
This is such a magnificent park! My son had so much fun here and there's lots to do for the grownups too!
Dustin D
Best park I've ever been to. Views from the top of one of the bridge towers are spectacular! See attached. So many awesome things for kids to play on!
Abigail Dickens
Best park my kids & I have EVER been to in the world by far. From awesome slides to cool tunnels and nest swings that look at the Chicago skyscrapers... simply amazing.
Remya T
The park was good, very well maintained and overall a good experience. Gave four stars because most of the park was catering to very young children and limited options for 5+ year olds. The swing featured in the picture was a really fun one for the kids.
Daniel Campbell
Maggie Daley Park is located within Millennium Park. It is a large play scape for children of all ages. There are swings, bridges, a rock wall, an ice skating rink in winter, a cafe, and more! Kids can and will spend hours here! There are a couple of nice spots to rest in the shade, but I would recommend somewhere else if you enjoy quiet, as the park is a bit loud. Overall it’s a great park/playground and you should come here.
Yasin Özkan
You can relax by watching Navy Pier park in the greenery among the skyscrapers. Although I came here in winter, it shined. Maybe because of Christmas.
Alfredo Alvarez
Ice Skating Rink was great! For $18 you can rent a pair of ice skates for 2 hrs and have fun
Temetra Williams
Great place to visit. Just decided to take a stroll through the park while we were downtown. Cute ice skating area with rock climbing and a park for kids to play in. There's an amphitheater too.

Came here at 11am for rock climbing. Pretty good value as they let you rent equipment, give you lessons and then let you go out and climb for as long as you like! They appeared to have 3 climbing structures for you to try out. Great view of the city. The office has lockers and facilities for changing. A pretty good experience if you enjoy being outdoors in the park.

Chicago’s amenities are overall very impressive. Also for families/kids. This park is outstanding! My boys could spend their whole day here.
sheila marie
I like the place except they don't have a good playground for younger kids aged 2-3. Like a little slides or little trampoline, stacking blocks or little basketball or little climber. We went with our 2 year old son and for toddlers, they've like climbing on things. He tried to play to other areas for 3-5 but they're older than him and I don't think he understands what the other kids were doing. Theres another place, like a house with hanging boats that they can play but i think they should be creative and add some more toys or so.
Mary Beth Lake (MBL)
Beautifully landscaped for a stroll, a picnic or playground time. Iconic views of the city or the lake. You can't take a bad photo here!
C (ChicagoCoors)
Maggie Daley Park is a gorgeous park, that is immaculately maintained. The activities are numerous, regardless of the weather, and spread throughout the park. This park is not the park to picnic in, or run around. The stretches of open grass area are limited, if at all available. MDP is a very lovely park to take a stroll or to sit and read a book.
Alms G
Long walk to the restroom. If you have a little one like me. Get familiar with the location it's kind of tricky to find. It's near the wall climbing and ice ring. Lots of loops. The playground is sectioned off by age group which is wonderful if you have toddlers. Theirs also a section for all ages including the bigger kids, and some adults like to join in the fun! Huge slides. Super fast too! I seen a few accidents occur from people sliding down on that area.
Lorraine Moore
Incredibly entertaining for the kids! The view and sights are fascinating along with lovely gardens in between all the play areas. As a parent I truly enjoyed this park as well.
Jenine K.
One of our favorite places! There are many little parks in one park and they are all grouped in a charming garden-like setting. There’s something for every age group here. The only gripe I have is that the pathways in and out of the individual park areas are a bit narrow, which can clog things up on a busy day (strollers). We love every bit of the park but our favorite has to be the main area with the bridges and multiple steel slides on the hill. Try not to smile when you cross the bridge :)
Brandon DeVos
This is such a neat park. There’s a lot to explore and see, and even then you’ll find something that surprises you. Definitely give it a try! 😄✌🏻 …
Priti Patel
This is a terrific park. Like how the sections are divided by age. They have a little nature trail maze along with the regular park features. Ages 2through12. The big hammock swing is very popular so be prepared to wait for it. Usually very crowded in the summer is the only draw back and there are some blind spots where you can't see your child. It can use more bench space for sitting.
Cheryl Ridenour
My first to Maggie Daley Park - the playground and Mini Golf. Playground -free. Mini golf -$11/pp. We had family visiting with two young boys and this was their favorite activity out of all the things we did. Simplistic fun! What’s not to love! The staff at mini golf were super friendly & helpful too. What a great destination with kids!

What a great park. Great for kids and adults and can spend lots of hours hanging out or just walking around. Plenty to do in this area.
Jordan Lau
Dull rental skates were not a wonderful experience, but the ribbon was pretty.
Michael Nestroy
Great Park, kids loved the playgrounds.
Trish / Patty Skudlarek
Fun for all ages. Areas to play for smaller and younger and the older kids. Plenty of benches to sit and rest as well.
David Drößler
Nice and clean park with a lot to explore! Good for every age group!
Cindy Yanci
This park is still stunning even in winter. There are many interesting parts in the park, I even had to go there 2 days in a row after finding out that it has an ice rink and I didn't find it on the first day. The ice rink is huge.
RONUS “ronus”
The playground and activities for kids is something amazing that I've never seen at any other public park. Truly my kids favorite playground and a sure highlight on our trip to Chicago.
Darren Schwartz
Fantastic place to bring the kids. Multiple areas for every age range. Cool slides, rock wall, sprinkler area, race track. Great place to sink 3 to 4 hours into.
Paulina S.
It was very very fun and very age appropriate...yes totally recommend this place to everyone and anyone who loves the outdoors...👍👍 …
Mon Ica
It is a stunning park, unlike any other. My son and I have visited this park many times since it was opened. I don't appreciate the fact that there isn't much seating for adults. However, it makes you get up and watch your kids lol. I also think it's a plus that there's security at the front entrance keeping teenagers out. Overall great place to take your kids!
Mike Greenstone
The ice skating and mini golf are the best, and also affordable - just bring your own skates and it’s free!
Jake Hyland
Love this place! Such a gem in downtown Chicago. One of the top things to do in the city, perfect for a date, with friends, or solo.
Paul Dunton
So much fun for the kids! Great park in the city. Can get very crowded at times though.
Gladys Tolentino
It’s a great place for the family and a great place for kids of all ages to play
David Vinca
Try and go on a weekday or early in morning or late in evening. Mid day on Saturday or Sunday is fun but crowded. Kids age 2-8 looove it. Easy to lose your kids so keep your eyes on alert;)
JT Pratt
Super fun park! Large slides and play structure. Stuff for kids if all ages.
Andrea Greatness
I love this park.... very good for any age groups and very family oriented
Lauren Topel
Really beautiful fun social outdoor exercise all in one. Great spot to share memories.
However…I am not sure they ever sharpen the $20 rental skates, which could lead injury or hating skating. If you can get your hands on any…bring them! If it’s also free admission if so! If not, ask for a good pair. The first ones they handed me dug into me heel and the laces were broken and I couldn’t really tighten them. They exchanged them for some that were just super dull but otherwise wearable. You can get skates indoors or outside but you have to return them where you got them.
lockers are small and $5 so pack light if you don’t have someone to watch your things. You have in and out privileges at least though.
We arrived 20 minutes early and avoided long lines and heavy traffic. I packed a snack and water which worked well because I heard the food was bad, over priced and crowded.
We found street parking without too much trouble on a Sunday but you have to pay the usual fees.
Micah Scroggins
this park in downtown chicago is beautiful and has lots if things for kids to do.
mohammad sabir aqueel
It is fun park for kids and adults as well, it never disappoints me to go to the park. There is somuch to do for kids, skating, rock climbing and mini golf. The proximoty to the downtown and the Michigan avenue makes it much more sought after. I would recommend people to use parking apps to park either in millemium park garage or lake side garage.
Lindsey Mott
Honestly the park was amazing.. We got there around 5 pm and my son had a blast.
Unfortunately the closer it got to night time things got a little scarey. Make sure you leave before night fall and try not to walk through the park on your way to the car.
We were in the middle of a riot over by the Bean. People were wearing masks to hide their identity and we were almost trampled from a stampede of people running.
I am grateful for the police being able to handle the situation properly so we weren't hurt.
JoAnne Berg
We had an amazing time got our own skates and we skated for a long time was not over crowded
Michelle Evans
Had a great time with my family and friends. Jacqie and David and Jaylah and Lele and Bella and Tiatian and Leti and Elivis
Elina Zhuravleva
Excellent for the kids!
Somya Verma
Great little fun park for kids ! Very clean , lot of seating space to bring your food and drinks . You can skate here as well.
Sandra Contrerarty
What an extraordinary spot! At long last returned, yet not completely. The youngsters' region is as yet under isolate limitations. The skating strip is open! What a pleasant time for everybody + single individuals, father's and little girls, whole families-all were out appreciating either skating or bike. Staff at the rental work area were productive and amicable. Extremely perfect conveniences, in addition to the rental storage spaces were reasonable, 3$, and open enough for a standard knapsack and a couple of shoes (tight fit yet it worked!). Rental skates were consistent with size, worked appropriately, and were CLEAN. At last, malignancy survivor garden was open, however very little in blossom this season. Still exceptionally quiet, clean, and very much kept up with.
Cristian Hernández
Having this park and all the services, kind of worth what I pay for taxes. This new area of the park is fukl of fun for kids and adults. Cool also you can rent it for private events. Ice rink free during winter and many activities on summer..
VK S
This is neatly maintained , looks like newly built , kids would love to visit and play here
Jay DiBenedetto
This was so fun for so many different ages of kids! It was a place we have to go back to!
Jack H
Wow! What a place a place to spend your first white Christmas!! We spent our day walking around the park, and even brought out our inner child and went down a slippery dip when no one was looking. We were so lucky to experience it being full of snow as well!!
allison guy
Beautiful park. I can’t wait to go back
David Johnson
We parked in the millinium garage and walked over to the bean. Then played on the playground with very cool slides and rented scooters and went around the little track. Very fun afternoon.
Alfonso de las Cuevas
Excellent park, it is always lots of fun for the kids.
Rosa ,Epic Abel
Went here for the first time Chicago had 80+ degrees on an April month and I guess everyone had the same idea of going because it was just crazy full and busy. If you have more than one child, please keep a good eye on them. I did lose my 7 yr old for 10 minutes till we finally found each other. It is beautiful and the scenes of the lake and tall buildings can be awestrucking. But it's the other people's attitudes that can ruin your day. There was no place to sit and there were people everywhere as if I was in a concert. This was at 4pm. Maybe come early morning or late evening to enjoy it best unless you don't mind the crowds. I'm glad we came but not sure if we will go again. I will just go to our neighborhood playgrounds
Yana “YANA” Sterling
One of the coolest park for kids with awesome views. All kinds of interactive activities. Great place to bring your children of all ages, especially the ones zombied by Xbox and PlayStation video games.
Joe Edward
An amazing place to bring kids of all ages. The park is immaculately kept and there are lots of great playground attractions to keep kids smiling.
stan k
Hidden behind the shiny bean (main atttaction), you'll find this wonderful park with multiple playground and ice skating circuit. We had a hot chocolate at the concession store and walked across lake shore dr.
Rose Jones
Great for kids under the age of 12, if you're an adult there is security and they are watching you 🤣🤣 …
Jody M Santos
It's a beautiful scene all the people even though it was cold it was nice Chicago is a beautiful City
Maureen Rzasa
Maggie Daily Park just keeps getting better and better. Lavish flowers and trees well planned out by the architect.
Love & Promise Jewelers
Maggie Daley's is one of my favorite parks for sure! I walk it almost every week
Wayne Hoffman
Wow!!! What an amazing park! I'll say it again. Wow!!! What an amazing park!
There's so much to enjoy. The shinning light of the park is the gigantic, gladdening, gratifying, gut-busting gantry. It's so incredibly fun that it's worth the myocardial infarction you will suffer losing your children again, and again, and again. Fortunately, the Friends of the Park owns a loft space in Fulton Market to house children lost (or left) at the park.
For the younger park patrons there are many little 'pods of play' where children can explore activities focused on their level. I (and my children) like the swankiest set of swishing swings. More 'fun zones' include a faux-harbor with sailboats to command; a mirror garden; whale and lighthouse structures with water features; a water bubbling globe structure; and much, much, more.
I'd be remiss in not mentioning the climbing mesa surrounded by a racing ribbon for scooting or inline skating (scooters, skates, and helmets are for rent in the Fieldhouse™).
Tucked in the back (northeast) corner of the park are tennis courts which fill quickly. My son takes fantastic tennis lessons offered through the Chicago Park District. (I would name drop the teacher but that would involve me remembering his name)
I've probably missed a thing or two. Turn in any direction and gain a beautiful view of the skyline, or the harbor, or the museum campus, or the sun (don't stare!).
Dianna
Amazing spot to take the kids! Free with so much to do and explore
Jon Hart
Really fun place to visit. The kids had a great time.
Tim Meehan
Great for kids of all ages, right next to Millennium Park & attractions. Follow the age ranges for the play areas & you'll be set.
Frances Knapp
We went to Maggie Daley Park for the Chicago Spring Marathon. It is phenomenal! The park is beautiful and so well taken care. It really is an oasis. They even have a climbing wall and miniature golf! Outstanding!!
MR. JASON HARDEN (Young Bull)
Rather empty and closed Park only had scooters and trampoline available. My children still enjoyed themselves. Overall 5/10
Roxanna Corporan
Fun place for kids. Has lots of little tucked away features which makes you get up and follow the kids from place to place
Rebecca S
I love going to the Maggie Daley Park on beautiful days to soak up the sun. It has a big, fancy playground area for kids and plenty of grassy knolls and benches for picnics, tossing a football, or catnapping in the sun. The light posts look like sculptures, too.
Frank Koronkiewicz
A most unique skating experience. Glad we brought our own skates to avoid the long line for rentals. We went after Thanksgiving on a 40 degree evening and it was perfect.
Jessi Gordon
Awesome Play Garden with lots of options to play and explore the beautiful park
S G
Awesome place for family n children! My children had great fun with a variety of activities to play. They will never get bored! Wonderful views too!
Oskar K. Wagner
Beautiful experience. Its always fun go skating. But dont go on weekends. 2-3 hours waiting in line to geg inside to rent the skates,so be prepared to come early and dress up good. Otherwise if you have skates its much easier. If you dont like scratched ice come during the week
Muhammed Soyer
Lovely park for kids. They were thrilled. It was crowded initially, it seems schools are coming in big groups.
Jessica Robinson
This place can get extremely busy. But otherwise very nice park for the kids to play.
Jaclyn Stuard
Lovely playground. Lots to do, especially with children over 5.
Would have given five stars, but there were some disappointing bits. Mostly the lack of toddler friendly activities, activity spaces that are too small for the toddler population, or activities that were in disrepair.
The swing sets for the little ones are always full and there's a queue, especially in the summer, and there's no place to get out of thw sun and heat while waiting either.
The harbor area (with wooden boats and a dock) is great, but the uneven ground is very tricky on the toddlers, plus the area is often populated with kids too old and they area bit rambunctious to keep things safe for the wee ones.
The forest play area was shaded and had a little mirror area for her to run in, but a third of the mirrors were damaged and removed, so it was a bit unsightly (missing spots just black boards covered in old glue) and far less...magical.
If you want to get the most out of your visit, do the following:
1. Come on a weekday
2. Wear ample sunscreen, maybe a hat. Protect yourself from the sun.
3. Travel light so you don't have to worry so much about your things while you play. Most areas, while not officially restricting bringing in your stroller with you, don't have room for multiple strollers in the play area.
4. Don't be in a hurry. You will likely have to wait, especially in the summer, and being rushed will just make ya miserable.
5. Avoid holiday weekends or any holiday, really, if you're coming to play. We went on memorial day weekend and every section had a long line, and people don't seem to care that ither children want to play.
If you're downtown and just lookin for a playground for a wee one, there are other options. They aren't as big or diverse, but your kid won't, as reliably, have to wait to play as long. I'd recommend Fulton River Park on DesPlaines and Kinzie for kids 12 and under. Swings, slides, monkey bars.
Maggie Daley is a sometimes visit for my girl and I. And now we follow my steps listed above when we go.
Excited for the bigger kids' play areas. The nunber of toddler safe play areas is few. But you can find a grassy area for picnics and frisbee easily, or a nice game of catch. Definitely worth checking out.
Shaina Z
Great walk with various things to do. It’s also connected to other gardens, parks and trails. Eventually will get you to Lake Michigan and from there walk to the Field Museum and the Aquarium.
nick allo
Great place to take the kids to let out some energy downtown. Free and clean.
Kathy Hardney
played the miniature golf course with my boys. you get a discount if you are triple aaa member like me.

It's a great park for kids and walking around in but don't bring your dogs and don't bring your bikes
Isabella Walsh
Very fun and great place for family time!
Rich KR
A brand new playground for children, incredibly well-equipped with various attractions. Overall, the entire Maggie Daley Park is fantastic for kids as for parents with excellent visibility for the children playing there and also a place to sit while the kids play. The park is divided into separate sequences separated from each other over a large area. The great visibility of downtown Chicago also adds to the attractions. Great park, I recommend it.
mark khorsandi
Best slide ever! Great place for kids to roam, explore, and have fun.
Kate Coleman
Beautiful place for all ages. Spent a ton of time exploring. Great place for little ones and even older kids. Clean and safe.
D Hampton
This park was on the top of the list for the kids and the entire family ended up enjoying the park it has so much to keep everybody occupied for hours or even all day. Food options near by with a lot of other attractions you must visit.
KS M
Great place for kids to come even when it rained a bit the view was amazing and there was so much to do with our 2 children!
Grace S
I’ve been to the skating ribbon many times and have the same experience every time: lots of people but clean ice and great service. There’s a lot of places to sit and rest. The decorations are really fun and it’s a really friendly atmosphere too. It really does feel like a winter wonderland skating at the ribbon.
dina n
Fun playground with a lot of different sections
Chesare D
Great place for the kids to enjoy, climb and jump outdoors. Magnificent view of Chicago downtown in day and night and good atmosphere with the people around. Parking spot is not really the best so keep in mind it will take you at least 15 mins to get to your car... And if I were u I'll go to the restroom in my way to the park cuz in the park it seems the most visited place haha (yes the restroom lol).
Peter O'Mara
Yeah, you can go rock climbing cheaper out in the 'burbs, but you can't get these views.
Riv Love
Beautiful place in great experience. Kids love it here and it has a great view of the water.
Hilary M
Would be wonderful on a nice day with children lots of rentals and right across the bridge from Millennium Park!
Lisa
Beautiful park! It was freezing and couldn't stay outside too long. I am from NY. I was on a business trip & only saw this pretty place briefly. I would go back on a warmer, sunny day in the summer.
Navaneeth Rao
Great experience with the Ice Skating rink. Make sure you book your appointments online before going there. They have separate pricing if you are renting the skates or if you bring your own.
James
A great place to spend time with your child having a good view of the city
Brandon Flores
Best city kids park of all time!
Shelby Elkins
I love this place! There are so many things to do for affordable prices - especially for large groups!
ALEX VALENCIA
Great place for kids to have fun , clean park , does get very crowded, but other than that kids and adults will love it.
Douglas Sanford
Lots of room to run around, climb and slide. Kids will love it.
Philip Zimmermann
Kids had a blast climbing; service inside to rent climbing gear was slow; no one to help explain how to but gear on. The playground was way too crowded as usual.
Ілля Москалюк
In addition to green park zone, there is impressive bridge here.
Leslie Travis Cook
OMG! A wonderful experience on the Skating Ribbon! The Bob at the rental counter was sooo nice. I brought my own quad skates with me..but he was sooo helpful. This is my summer outdoor roller skating floor...even if it is concrete.
Stef ZZ
Wonderful park very entertaining for kids!
Ashley Steinberg
Beautiful park for ice skating, terrible rental skates. Spent half our $20 paid time there tightening and swapping out skates for what was hopefully a non-dull pair. No sharpening on-site. Better off buying and bringing your own.
Kevin Lockwood
Fun place to walk around and see Chicago from a different vantage point and setting.
Moo3
Perfect place for kids of all ages. Too much fun even for adults.
Amie Heath
Surprised at how amazing this park was. My daughter never wanted to leave!!
Brenda Beckford
Great family friendly park. The rock climbing is excellent for kids of all levels from beginners to expert. The staff are very helpful. There are so many kid friendly activities with equipment rental and there are also great tot lots for toddlers to have independent playtime. In the summer there’s water play areas for young kids. Overall a great family park.
Toshiba Rials
I took my children to the Fall festival. It was nice.
Joshlynn Ortiz
Great place to enjoy a beautiful day with little one. Very pleased how much security was there. Every section had its own security.
Marco Laure
A great addition just east of Millennium Park...Folks of all ages can enjoy it with its vast play spaces, a couple of climbing structures and a skating ribbon.
Ericka Najera
The best park in Chicago. I wish this wouldve been here when i was little!! But even as an adult it was super fun. Definitely my new go to place to take the kids.
Mia Fleming
A beautiful place and quite peaceful in the early morning.
Clinton Branton
This was my first trip to Chicago. The park was outstanding. It has a wide range of activities from minigolf to rick climbing. With plenty of open space to just relax. For people with children I say this part is a must.
Becky Cancel
What a nice experience for the kids!! This place is so nice and inexpensive if you don't but anything to eat, lol. Bring a snack and enjoy a few hours with your kids. If you park on Columbus Dr meter is $7.00 am hour.
Jeremy
Lots of green grass, benches, playgrounds, picnic tables, etc. Best of all, it's free!
randy tidmore
Had s a great time here
T. Encarnacion
A peaceful and eye pleasing park, though at times confusing to navigate around.
Joe Lindell
Some of the best playgrounds we've seen anywhere in the world.
Bobbe Wright
A wonderful addition to Chicago down town park system, fun for family play and great botanical landscaping.
Tracey Wilson
Came here with family. Rented ice skates and enjoyed 2 hrs of skating on the ribbon. Fun and friendly atmosphere near lots of popular tourist attractions.
M Jackson
This is definitely a beautiful place. It's the perfect place for kids and actually people of all ages. I'm happy I was able to experience what the park had to offer on such a beautiful day.
Sunny H
Can't miss. Our son has loved this from 2-7 yrs old so far. It's a great way to spend a couple of hours letting kids play. Got hot dogs and hamburgers there, and popcicles from the ice cream trucks lined up down the street, and played miniature golf. They must have turned the water off recently, otherwise he would have done that too! Thank you Chicago for an amazing free activity space!
Brett Kho
Nice and fancy park right alongside the main skyline. Truly beautiful vacation
Maya Mcgeathey
They have an open playground for children of all ages. We had a blast, its across the bridge from Millennium park and its free !
Shayla sharmin
A lovely park middle of the city.
Sunny Arora
Fun spot for ice skating in downtown Chicago ! Ice ring can get challenging for novice skaters. Good for group activities with friends.
Willie “Priest” Stallings
I just love this park 🏞️ and ALL the new things they have besides the beach and boating activities. They offer rock climbing {different ages & skill level, regular & water slides, multiple swings, mini golf ⛳,xj has been awhile since I have been awhile in that area. NoT anymore, I will become part of the outdoor Furniture. …
Mr. G
Don't spend too much time in 1 place because there is lots to see and many places to play. Here is a pic of the best part!
Jacob Gorman
I think in my opinion I enjoyed it all but the best thing was the views and being able to just take a calm walk with my daughter. In the morning is the best!
Matt Szatkowski
Beautiful park! Such a great layout and plenty of great options. My son loves it! Each area has an age range to help parents guide their kiddos. We went in the fall so we didn't see everything as some water based areas were off. Can't wait to check it out in the summer!
Yolitzitzkiani Aguila
The best free park ever!!! Open to the world because Chicago loves to share. Precovid times there were water attractions, climbing things and all types of wonder. The Park was limited during CoVid times but the acreage of open space still allowed for some fun in the sun. Haven’t been since reopening to 100% but when I do I will post more.
Kris Sherwin (krispy)
Fun place to enjoy some green time in the city. Nice walking paths for everyone, nice playgrounds for children, climbing wall for all (in summer), ice skating ribbon in winter.
Andre' Woo
Beautiful, Tranquil and Scerene. A Great Place to Walk, Sit and Bring The Kids and Family to Enjoy. Forestry and Surroundings Are Breathtaking and Pleasantly Pleasing.
Omar Haque
Wow! Beautiful park for the kids big and small. Must see if traveling to Chicago with kids

amy nguyen
Great outdoor park for kids.
Alfredo Granado (Alfred)
Lov it. It is a really nice place to go for a walk and a jog.
John Kollhoff
Spent the day here, and planned to go to to a museum the next day, but the little one voted to come back to the park. Terrific playground and well-kept grounds. Great place for kids and families in the city.
Becky Nitschke
Love this place. Excellent views too
marcus marx-wankoff
Absolutely fantastic tons of things to do you can walk around and see nature they have a lot of events going on they have lots of food stands playgrounds for your kids I had a great time
Jose Mejias
Beautiful green space in the city. It allows you to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life for a little while. The children's park there is awesome. Almost everything is covered with shock absorbing material in case a young one falls. The multi use activity area is well designed. There can be a multitude of people there and kids can still run around and have fun!
Asim Kamal
Kids love it! The park is big and offers a lot of space for families to enjoy a green space within the city.
There are lots of activities: mini golf, rock climbing, bike rentals, roller/ice skating . They have a nice playground , small splash park. And the playground as well as the park is compartmentalized to avoid feeling like a big wide expanse.
Nick Christo
Wonderful park. Love the ice skating in the winter. A must do if you're in Chicago. Schedule your skate in advance though!
GRV
Amazing tribute to MS Daley. I have a blast.
Cody Fleming
This place is a kid paradise. So cool with many things to do. Expect to spend a few hours.
Adnan Kagalwalla
A wonderful park built on the ashes of Meigs Field. There is a ton of things to do for younger children and older. A wonderful place to spend a morning or afternoon in any season. Highly recommended.
Shawn Sidhu
Awesome fun going around track on skates
Amanda Forbes Mestdagh
Wonderful playground with specific activities for all age groups. Really enjoyed the variety, scale and thought the space was huge! If your child likes slides they have TONS of slides in a variety of areas from a winding slide from the top of a “lighthouse” to an entire section with a dozen straight slides. Same for swings, etc. something for every child.
carson
Great overall experience. There was so much to do, and a desire to do all of it. The playground was especially fun for the children, and the creativity shines through the park. However, the allowed ages could have been more enforced. On some playgrounds, only certain ages could go in. But, it seemed as though the rule was ignored. Besides that, the park was very fun and amusing. It is definitely one of the best spots in Chicago, especially for children.
Ashley
Great place to take your kids if you want to show them an epic playground. They have ice skating in the winter and mini golf during regular warm season. Each hole has an iconic Chicago representation like the Sears tower or the bean ♡ Also grab coffee, tea or hot chocolate off Michigan ave ♡ & enjoy a nice walk around the park with your best friend or the love of your life ♡ ....or stop and take a seat near lake shore drive and watch the fireworks on a beautiful summer night ♡ Welcome to sweet home Chicago ♡
Mike R
This was a nice addition to the city, and a great place to take kids. It’s vastly less busy than millennium park, so I find it more enjoyable. It’s gotten a bit more popular with tourists so it likely will transition into the tourist hell that is millennium park. The other thing I like is it is much more activity driven vs just walking around. It’s free to walk around and use the playgrounds, things like ice skating or the rock wall will cost you but for a fairly reasonable cost.
AE Simpson
This park has play areas for babies, big Kids, and adults. Very well though out park with activities I haven't seen at any other park. My toddler loved the "row boats" that rock to and fro. I loved climbing up and going down the giant slides. Great amount of though and care went into every detail of this park. Even the ground is great for crawling babies!
Yog
Really good place for ice skating. We couldn't find the parking spot and were late by an hour. We went to the kids with ticket scanners and requested to move our session to the next one and got denied. But when we asked about it to the manager, Brian, he was immediately agreed on it. So, go see the manager if you have any questions, he is a great guy. Fiver stars for the manager.
Oscar Jackson
are you kidding me? how FUN. it's fun in the heart of the loop. summer time can be a bit packed but my oh my the fun you will will make you giggle with joy
Christine McWilliams
This is an amazing park! Water play, jungle gyms, mini golf. So many things to do with your kids. They have different age appropriate play areas which makes it great for the younger kids, you don't have to worry about them getting trampled by running older kids. You can totally take a day and explore the fountains, cloud gate and Maggie Daley for a great day with the kids.
Haridas Attur
Nice lil park for children .
Andrew Springhetti
Went skating at the ribbon. Amazing!

This park manages to make each section feel like a small park that is not incredibly busy, despite being a large, bustling park. It has amenities that span the ages for children. The area with towers and slides was more congested than other areas, leading one of our children to get lost, but the elevation of the observation areas around the slides made it easy to spot her from above. This is a very well planned and implemented park.
Damianus Lamont
Very nice experience. Highly recommend. It's nice because the skate rink has hills so it's not just an oval.
Ang Stoner
Such a fun place. So many things to see and do.
Katherine Dallmeyer
Fantastic, large playground! Great for older kids - I've seen adults having fun here too! Be aware that there are many blindspots and the areas are not fenced completely so it is very easy for young children to slip out of sight. I see security looking for lost children almost every time I go! Also just a small annoyance, the slides are metal and are blazing hot in summer.
Valentin Patino
Always love visiting this park. And with three additions it's even better.
Jane Reynolds
Bezutiful day for a walk. Waiting for the City to turn on the fountain.
Samid Viveros
This place is amazing. The playground is the best I have ever seen. There is something for everyone; small slides and tiny climbing hills for toddlers, water play, baby swings, "nest swings" which are perfect if you have 2 or 3 kids, forts with tall slides for older kids. A really large climb wall and roller skate area. Make sure to park in the Millennium Park Garage Lakeside. Or street park on or near Randolph St.
Genie Hernandez
This park is amazing. So many fun things for kids and adults to do. Everything is big enough and strong enough for adulta, but still has the vibrant colors and accessibility for kids. There's a few different sections throughout the entire park, so it is very big. If your child is young I'd suggest staying with them or bringing another person to help keep an eye on them. There are so many people and places to go your child could easily get lost. But overall an amazing park for all ages.
Thomas Cera
Beautiful place in the midst of an urban center.
Amo Cenare
Fun place to be especially for family with children. They have this giant playground for the kids to run around. I think there are two sections for swings, one for little ones and another for older kids. This parks also has rock climbing and mini golf. Winter time it has ice skating ring....
I highly recommend this place...
Tim Schoen
Such a great city attraction! Clean, safe and plenty of equipment for all ages and ADA accessible. Good to see some of our tax dollars at work…
Alejandro Ruiz
Beautiful park! Went to the ice rink, but beware of their skate rentals. Very uncomfortable and they'll leave you with blisters
Danielle Greer
A huge treasure in the middle of such a big beautiful city. We played here for hours!!!
Monica Feldman
It offers amazing views of the city of Chicago every season of the year. Be aware that at times some of access paths are closed and you will need to walk longer to get into the park.
Michael Wycklendt
My kids loved it here. It has some of the most unique and challenging play structures I have ever seen. A couple of the slides are at least 40 ft high. Whoever designed the play area should be commended.
Jazzy Lady
This is one of the most beautiful parks in all of Chicago. It's very modern with a nostalgic feel. It's very close to the lake which makes it an all around experience. This is one of the only public areas I know that offers rock wall climbing and has an expansive trail for skating, scooting, cycling, jogging and whatever else you can think of. It also has a lovely garden that's great for photos and blog posts. Located next to Chicago's also famous Millennium Park you can make one trip and get the best of both worlds.
Kenna Little
My daughters had a great time playing here ALL day when we stopped by. It's a very well kept park and I love how they have signs with the recommended ages to play in certain areas.
If we lived in the area, it would definitely be a regular stop for fun with my kids.
There's also the ice skating rink, the rock climbing wall and you walk over the bridge and you're at Millennial Park.
Henry
Great park to stroll through with lots of things for the kids to do. Many options for outdoor fun including an ice skating ribbon, rock climbing walls, tennis courts and themed playgrounds. The park is pretty accessible by train (Randolph/Wabash station via Green, Orange, Brown, Purple, and Pink lines or State/Monroe via Red Line) but if you're at Millennium Park, you can access Maggie Daley Park through a beautiful pedestrian bridge .
M H
Great park, my daughter loved the water features. So glad we had extra clothes for her.
Ravi Meher
Nice swings and play area for kids, adjacent millennial park, Chicago
Melissa G
Huge free outdoor playground geared toward ages 2-12. Keeps my toddler entertained for hours! Fun for adults with their kids, too, since it's easy for adults to get in the equipment to help little ones. Flushing toilets nearby. No dogs allowed so no dog poo to navigate. HIGHLY recommended.
Adriana Perez
There's lots to do at Maggie Daley Park, from rock climbing to roller skating to just a simple family picnic. It's a nice place to relax with the family. They have rentals for scooters and skates, which is nice. Restrooms are clean and accessible but I felt there weren't enough food concession stands for the size of the park. It's adjacent to Millenium Park and very centrally located.
Free admission. Recommended age for attractions: 6+
Clare Lynd-Porter
Keep a close eye on your kids! But it's a fun park
Chris McCarthy
A really great park with well defined age ranges for each play area. I love that it's a huge area with oversize play towers and slides that I would love to go down (watch for old folks at play) beautiful views of the city buildings and the lake make this even better. We found street parking witch was less than the parking garage for short play trips. Warning. It is easy to loose sight of your kids. You will see, or not see, what I mean when you play there. There are super fun changes in elevation that create blind spots. Other than that, go and enjoy a great free park. Would have given 5 stars if family bathrooms were more accessible.
David W. Miller
Even in the dead of winter this park is fantastic. There are play areas for kids of all ages and the ground is typically soft especially where you would need it. There's enough of a active area for older kids plenty of swings for the younger kids and water fountains. The one thing I would like because if the bathrooms were a bit closer than the Fieldhouse which is about a 10-minute walk away and so with kids that can be a bit difficult.
Kevin Rene
Oh so beautiful! Walked across from Michigan to this gem. I cannot believe I didn't take pictures! The little outdoor cafe by the skate area was a great surprise. We tried a chicago dog with some cookies! Overpriced water and drinks, but hey, oh so worth it after walking so far!
I can imagine a day in this park as a famy is amazing! They have it all, from rock climbing (opening soon)to mini golf and nice skating area that post covid is already open, this area is beautiful and so we'll appointed for the area in which it lies!
Kathy Renwald
This is an outstanding park. The play areas for children are fresh and inventive, and they encourage kids to use their imagination. The plant selection has been done with great care and includes a careful selection of trees and shrubs that will be beautiful in all seasons. It's a park that resonates for adults as well as children. You can go back many times and find something new and intriguing.
Warren Skipper
This is a nice park! It should be for the cost. There are lawns to relax on, plenty of seating areas and the overhead lights are like sculptures. There's also a fun-looking large playground set-up for children. It's nicely separated from Millennium Park to have its own feel and views of the skyline. It's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!
Brenda Taylor
Great playground for kids of all sizes. There are some areas designated for bigger and smaller kids, but plenty of variety for everyone! There are fountain type toys that operate in the summer. There are wonderful things to climb on. Take hats because this park is not well shaded!
Christopher Weiss
Awesome skating ribbon. My favorite place in for skating in Chicago so far.
Mike Connor
This park was beautiful at night! The central Christmas tree dazzled and the ice skating rink was a main attraction of hordes of people. I even noticed attentive security guards posted indiscriminately throughout the park, which allowed my party and I to enjoy the festivities without having to worry about our safety.
Mollie-wan Kenobi
There were tons of fun things for my little cousin to do like climb around on the bridge or in the sea themed section of the park. There were also things for me to do which was great because I got to climb around and have fun. They also have mini golf and I managed to get a free mini golf pass so I'm definitely going back.
Alex Lewis
Absolutely fantastic park for children AND adults. We visited with two children and three adults (two man-children). We had such a fun time exploring, climbing, jumping and cooling down in the water. I highly recommend visiting, especially if you’ve never been to Chicago. You get a uniquely green and luscious look of the Loop from the park!
Iveliz Correa
It is a very nice clean park for the children to enjoy. I like how it is divided by age group. The only problem was that it needed more shade. The sun made the slides very hot for the children to enjoy. However, it was a great park to have fun.
Jonathan Alfaro
This park has it all! My son (2.5yr) and I were looking for some big slides.. our local park's slides weren't cutting it anymore.. boy let me tell you.. looks could be deceiving.. these slides are bigger than they seem in the pictures, but that didn't stop us from conquering these slides! So much fun to be had in this park.. I'd recommend going on an off weather day, light jacket kind of day or cool summer day... I can see this park getting packed! Bigger slides are usually 5yr and above.. but if you have a little guy like mine than he'll absolutely love this park!
Douglas Burge
Wonderful park and playground. Lots of room to run around for all ages. The big playground can cause anxiety if you aren't prepared. We suggest picking base camp and having children check in regularly. The views are absolutely beautiful throughout.
Biren
Amazing experience for kids and adults. Nice location and great play area.
Wendy Huang
They had weekend with Google herd. It was pretty good. They have some interesting structures here.
Dan Kunstman
Best park for kids in the city!
Hadley Ott
This is an absolutely remarkable park!! So much to explore and do. It would be hard to keep track of multiple kids running in different directions as there are several sections of the park to play, but it is so well laid out with activities for all ages.
Elliot Oats
It is a large, fun park, with many unique attractions for the kids, like the massive 2 towered bridge, where kids can climb up into the tower, look through a functioning telescope, spin the patterned wheels and more. The areas for smaller kids include a light house with a miniature water tornado maker, a 10s of fun slides, and minuture park for the little kids.
Kareema Boykin
When visiting the city I like to take the kids here. It's big, has unique areas of play, diverse group of families and have staff there to help manage safety of kids. With that being said.......it's still important to watch your children at ALL times. Its huge and tons of people.
Mel H
My oldest daughter was a little old for this (she is 11) but admitted it was a truly awesome park. She even went on the slides. My 7 year old had a blast! I wish I had brought the swimsuits because there were some cute water features that I missed reading about. It definitely had a Wow factor.
Ray Forgianni
Possibly the best children's park on the continent. Options for all ages. Modern swings, skate board/roller blade track, water features, climbing gyms, an extensive climbing wall. Plenty of seating. Pay attention to where your child is located. Adequate & visual security.
Sebastian Duve
Absolutely beautiful park. There is stuff for any age group to do there from rock climbing and mini golf to just walking around. The nice thing I found was that even though you can't ice skate in the summer (I wonder why?) you can still walk the ribbon that is used for the ice so you get a cool perspective. Overall a must visit, and great memorial to the life of Maggie Daley.
Alan Moretton
This review is in regards to the summer season. This is a fantastic park. Options for all ages to entertain you for an afternoon. The ice rink is converted into a loop you can roller blade or scooter around in. Inside that loop is a rock wall that is free, but you need to rent equipment if you don't have it. Throughout the park are small themed playgrounds which all have the shredded rubber mats for cushion. Every section is well maintained and safe. Outside of that, there are open spaces for playing frisbee it just having a picnic. It will be crowded, but there's enough space for whatever you want to do. Enjoy!
Amanda Muller
Stumbled into this park and couldn't have been happier. Spent the afternoon riding slides, running up hills and walking through an enchanted forest. It didn't matter that I wasn't 8, this was the best afternoon I could have asked for. Of course, bring the kids they will love it. Plenty to do for all ages, enough to fill up an entire day. Bring water! It gets hot running around. Very clean which was so surprising. And there were public restrooms which made the whole thing a wonderful experience.
Jessica Parker
This park would be great for kids. Plenty of things to do including climbing walls and a small ice skating loop. Slides, an awesome rope bridge, swings, and many other activities. The park is well lit and close to the river walk and Millennium Park.
Brittany Slater
I loved this park it was my first time taking the kids here. The park is extremely huge and had different play areas inside the park for kids of all ages there were also picnic tables and water fountains along with porter pottys and all type if food vendors there is parking but im not sure how much i opted for the public bus because it was closer to were i live it was extremely hot that day so we only stayed a couple of hours. But i recommend everyone to visit and enjoy i also packed a cooler for lunch!
Brian McKenna
Incredible park in downtown Chicago surrounded by sky scrapers on one side and the lake on the other. There's a huge rock climbing structure and massive playground area for kids. The best though is the ice skating ribbon. Not a rink but a trail through the park with turns in both directions and slight elevation changes
Cole Spolaric
Beautiful park that was well laid out and has something for everyone. Rock climbing, roller skating/scootering in the ribbon that is used for ice skating in the winter, multiple playgrounds for kids that even parents can enjoy, and whimsical gardens that you can get lost in. The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is that a little bit more attention needs to be paid to maintenance.
Robin Willard
One of my all-time favorite Chicago parks. The play area used to be all ages, but since it's always pretty crowded, this has changed and there are age restriction signs every, which is a little disappointing. Still, it's a great park which is beautifully maintained. Most importantly, their Park istrict programs for youth are some of the best in the city, and are run by tremendously conscientious, kind and generous staff.
MR MR
Unfortunately I only took video of the park. It was amazing. It was definitely one of the highlights of the trip according to my daughter and the kid in me. One of the slides is so fast that it took me a good 10 or 15 ft to slow down after I flew off the end of it. Be careful!
Robert Kostecki
Fantastic photo opportunities! Beautiful area located right in heart of downtown. The winter time is my favorite time to go because of the ice ribbon. Maggie Daley Park is a really cool park for people of all ages!
Ruben Guardiola
Really nice park. The ice skating "ring" is really fun, especially when you realize its not completely level (there is a slight up/down hill parts). The skate rental is decent. Rock climbing wall looks fun but was closed when we were there..
Alvin Alkatib
We had a unique time here with our little one although. The sections of different swings and structures to explore were cool and fun. Everyone was courteous of how long they used swings and it was a gorgeous day.
Max T. Basson
This is a premier children’s park. World class with activities for every age and ability. Green spaces, swings, fountains, skating rings, slides, places to explore, and altogether delight for kids ages 1 to 80 years old!! If you don’t find an activity that you enjoy here, check your pulse for a beat!
Michael Diaz
Great for holiday- photo ops, Christmas tree, ice skating track all under this view of the city
R Scott Weaver
We always love our visits to Maggie Daley Park! However, try to find a weekday as it is tremendously busy on the weekends. There is plenty for the kids to do - especially for children 12 and under. Lots of security was present during our visit. The playground had lots of original and fun activities for our children!
themonsterghost
I love this park! There's so much to do! I go on weekdays when it isn't as crowded and enjoy the skating ribbon immensely. The rock climbing walls also offer instructors so even if you don't know what you're doing, you'll be good to go! Worth the visit!
Meghan Thompson
I am telling you, if you've never been here, you need to be here. It blew our minds! My 6yo son and I had an absolute blast, and unfortunately we didn't even visit all of the gardens! There is so much to do here! Amazing for all ages, it really introduces play in a new light. I'm 27 and I haven't played like that since my childhood. No one will judge you! Everyone was delightful, there were parents having fun. Not very many playing the way I was. Even still, they were friendly and encouraging seeing me and other adults playing. Hey, you let your kid out of your sight for a split second? Don't worry other parents will say "he's right over there!" It felt like a sanctuary for children. However, I do not of course recommend not keeping tabs on your kids in any crowded public place ever, but knowing how children are and they sometimes can get away quickly, this place felt safe in my opinion. Everyone could use a trip here! Especially if you wanna bring back your inner child! I'm so happy this park exists!
Dustin LaFavre
Super neat park to visit! The 5G service with T-Mobile is wonky here though.
Tondaleo Allen
5 stars because the 7 year old had the best time ever!!! There are play areas for children of every age AND there are splash pads. It can get pretty crowded SO keep both eyes on your babies! Have fun!!!
Caleb Weber
What a terrific place to take kids. We brought our boys there a few times while in town. It's in way better condition than you expect. I'm just used to run down stuff in Toledo, so I didn't expect much.
The slides and climbing towers are really awesome to see. The splash pad was perfect for the hot weather. Also, all the parents and people there are very polite, and all seem to enjoy each other's conversations as much as the kids love playing. That's just what must be part of the friendly attitude of Chicago.
Super G
If you are downtown and you don't have a lot of money, you should go here. It cost nothing too! This is the perfect place for families too. I like that you can do a lot of stuff like skating, running, and just looking around. There is a big and unique playground with swings in another place. Go here if you have the chance too.
Eddie Caine Jr.
It's a gorgeous park to walk at dusk great views of the Chicago skyline.
Charlotte Smith
Possibly the best children's park on the continent. Options for all ages. Modern swings, skateboard/rollerblade track, water features, climbing gyms, an extensive climbing wall. Plenty of seating. Pay attention to where your child is located. Adequate & visual security.
Julien Puglisi (Segura)
Really nice park to go hang with your family or friends and enjoy the sun.
James B
Beautiful park with a huge playground for kids of all ages, rock climbing walls, a skate rink in the winter which turns into a roller skate rink in the summer. Plenty of concessions and great space, and a wonderful view of the downtown Chicago skyline. Great space in the heart of the City!
Marcus Fardoe
Wonderful place for the kids to run around and play. Lots of areas with very new playground equipment, each area labelled with an age range. Nowhere close by to buy a drink or use the bathroom, which was the only downside really. An easy walk to the lake or the city.
Naresh Hinduja
Amazing park of multiple mini play areas, great to spend some hrs w kids and to help burn some of their energy! Drinking water fountains all over and alot of open spaces for picnicking nearby makes this spot perfectly convenient!
Meena Cs
Nice place to spend time with family here. Children's park for kids to play, take a stroll or jog, mini golf area or just sit by watching the city, park, garden or the Michgan lake right opposite to the park. It is also right beside the Millennium park. There is rock climbing place right in the park. various activities to do for kids, elders, of all age groups. Its very lively in summers, there is something or the other going on everyday.
Patrick Villacorta
The most impressive free playground I've been to. Kids just have lots to do. It gets hard to keep track of them though due to the size of the place and the crowd
When we went, I really appreciated the splash pads because it was very hot and humid.

Great place for kids. Early morning before 10 am is best b/c by afternoon it’s a bit out of control with the large number of people. Your child will have to wait in line for certain play equipment and will have limited time on said equipment. Only applies if you teach good manners. Snacks are available, port o potties (no flash toilets), climbing and boulder wall, roller blading and open green space.
Joe Pelayo
It's a greatplace... It's just too crowded! We had a bad experience with some rude people. It is an amazing place when it isn't crowded. Unfortunately on the day we went, it was very crowded. There were some older kids throwing a bottle of water which ended up striking my child. Some parents don't even watch their kids. And one family of 8 just decided to sit at the same table we were having a picnic on. Just odd behavior from a handful of people in a close vicinity.
Phil Carnell
Came here for an hour or so on Easter Sunday. Kids had a blast on all of the playground equipment. Fun area to walk around and let the kids burn off some energy. We only had a couple days in the city but the kids kept asking to come back here to play on the playground equipment some more.
Kenia Flores
So much to do, water spaces to cool off, many climbing structures, slides of all sizes, mirror maze, well designed to keep kiddos occupied for a long while. Make sure to bring snacks/lunch they have picnic tables. You can go over to the bean when you are done climbing or the face fountains as we call them.
Joshua Lin
Amazing place to play a game of tennis!!
David Poole
This is a world class park. Great activities for all seasons. It is crowded and a bit maze-like, so challenging for the helicopter parent to hover. However, it is safe and well organized.
Sean Blair
Fantastic park. Well maintained. It's broken up into activity areas for age groups. The ground is rubberized for safety.
Beautiful job on landscaping too. Also has a climbing wall and ice skating in the winter.
Tom Z
What a great park for the kids and adults. Quality slides and other play equipment.
They also have climbing wall.
In the winter they have an amazing ribbon shaped ice skating path. It even has a small hill.
I can't wait to head back and skate.
There is a lot of space so it didn't feel crowded.
Andy Midgett
We went on a Monday and it was not over crowded. My 7 year had a blast running around, but the slides and very steep hills were very difficult for my 2 year old making it hard to keep them both in the same area together
Bonnie Bibian
The place is so high quality in it's choice of materials; it makes me wonder how the city (or donors?) could afford it. The place is like a zoo of parks, all segregated in age groups. It is truly a beautiful experience. Even better, it's close to the loop. The big playground is crowded enough for children to get lost- so keep an eye on them. That's why there are other smaller playgrounds, mostly ocean themes. Even I had fun rolling down a hill.
Madeline Schroeder
I loved this place it has a beautifun scenery where family, friends can bring their children. It has different playgrounds that have like a boat house, bridge, swings, and much more for childrens enjoyment. Also, there is a place for climbing and roller skating path. I would encourage your family to come and visit you will not regret it.
Michele Waite
Was able to attend the Farmers Market there on a Wednesday in July. Beautiful flowers.
Bilyan Belchev
Very nice playground, though it can get busy during holidays and school breaks. Much easier to enjoy for kids 5 and older. Even though there are designated areas for 2 yr olds, they can easily get bumped by bigger kids.
Mike Ko
The best place to take kids in the city, and it's free! So much to do, and great views of the skyline. You could spend the entire day here, but at least plan a couple hours. And if it's summer time, bring a towel and/or change of clothes. Your kids will end up in the splash pads.
Aaron Smith
This place is amazing. It's got activities for kids of all ages including 35+. It was pretty crowded around the time that we went but there is so much going on that you can always find a quiet place. They stop serving food at 8 so if you want a hot dog, get it early.
T Ali
It is like heaven for the kids. Plenty of swings and slides. Then there is an enchanted forest, rock climbing and more. Only problem is they have portable toilets. You can walk around to find proper bathrooms. Parking may also be a challenge so take the bus. Number 4 will drop you close enough.
Linda Henry
The park is beautiful but the event I was at could have been better organized. It was the Google Wonderful weekends and it was not so much for the kids, everything seamed geared towards the adults and new apps.the kids were bored until I took them to the playground.
Aaron Redmond
An amazing, multi-faceted park for kids of all ages right in the heart of the city! The climbing bridge is incredible.
Manny Jimennez
My two girls loved this park. Very clean and organized. It is very well put together and I highly recommend it and also I had a nice time too since there are parts of the park where you can have fun in which brought back a lot of my childhood memories.
Shiv Shankar Pandit (journeyfrom105)
Do not miss this park if are visiting millennium / Grant Park. It's free and kids will love this place. You would need 2 to 3 hours to have a relaxed time and enjoy the place. Would not recommend when it's dark. You may expect to be little busy given it's close to millennium Park.
Katie
This is far and away the most extensive playground I've ever been to. From huge slides to a ship-themed play structure to swings and a toddler area or two, you can keep any age kid occupied for hours here.
Andrew Maxwell
Beautiful park with tons to do for kids of all ages. My son loved all of the different play structures and the entire floor is the soft rubber so we didn't have to worry about him falling.
Nicole Dziubczynski
Big park so the kids don't get bored and get some good running around at. It's free. Clean. Fun. I think my kids favorite part are the big swings they can share. Plus there are picnic tables to pack a lunch and eat.
Jason M
Holy cow! I wish this place, or something like it, had been around when i was a child. There's so much playground equipment for kids to play on, ranging in age from toddlers to about 12 years old. On top of that there is ample bench and lawn seating available, and in the winter the skating ribbon is open so that people can ice skate. This is truly one of the city's treasures, and it's right next door to Millennium Park.
Candace Odili
Great free park to bring your kids on a summer day. They have lots of things to do, from putt putt to rock climbing to a great play garden. You will have to pay for certain activies and the vendors spread thru out the park. However the play garden is free and there are age restrictions in most of the areas. Which is great if you have a toddler and wish for them not to get toppled over by a big child during their playtime.
cmsavage6
What a fabulous park. It's a totally different experience than in the summer. I can't wait to come back!
Rados Stoddard
Beautiful park, plenty of adventures for all ages. Children's area with activities, climbing wall in the summer (age/height requirements), skating rink during appropriate seasons. There is also a pool available for use, or you can just walk around the park and enjoy spectacular views of the Chicago skyline!
Andrew Cheng
Very fun and safe space for kids to play at. I'm amazed that it's all free!
J Brady
A wonderful family park, something for children of all ages. Multiple areas to play and run around. Parents have to have eyes in the back if their head. The park has security present but dressing your kids in something identifiable make it easy to spot them and brings peace of mind. Bring your own water in the winter, the fountains are shut off to prevent freezing. Big kids: bring gloves if you like hanging from the rope bridge, that thing will shred your fingers.
Olivia the cat
Beautiful park to bring family. They offer rock climbing in the summer that turns into an ice skating rink in the fall. The childrens park is awesome and they have several picnic tables.
Colin McCann
Super cool park. Especially if you have kids go check it out.
Fatima Iftikhar
The ice skating ring is a fun place to be in the winter. There are looooong 2 hour wait lines for the skate rental, but if you have your own skates you can just walk up to the entry and start skating for free which is pretty cool.
The staff is helpful and are also in the skating area making sure everything goes smoothly.
The location is very accessible and if you don't like the slopes of the skating ring then you can just walk to the millennium park skating rink.
Mohannad
A great place for all ages. They have many activities ranging from tock climbing to ice skating in the winter. There is many open areas for picnics and sport games. It is a very clean park with very unique architecture. Especially the playground, it is very interesting.
husham hatem
Nice place for family.
Beautiful views.
Parking is expensive as usual.
Lore 353
Clean and kool park in Chicago!! Love it!!
Alfonso Salmeron
The park is clean and the environment is great, there is a lot of security, the areas are well maintained, you can come and spend the whole day with your family and never be bored. You can see that a lots of families come have to have a great time, very recommended and also the view to the buildings are the best.
Gabriela Jasso
It is a amazing place to take your children in the summer there is water parks it is lovely 😊 it is also a very big park unlike other parks. I will definitely come back this year. Awesome experience love it! …
Don Miller
Great park for kids
Ryan Gordon
Although a majority of the stuff there is for the younger crowd (2 - 14 yrs), the park is still a fantastic place to check out for the scenery and the open areas. I went with my girlfriend at night and only planned on spending a few minutes with a stroll...which turned into about 1.5 hours of us running around and looking at everything. Even with it being late (left around 10'ish p.m.), the park was still very well lit and the people inside were decent (some families, some couples, a random group of teens playing tag, etc.).
I'd recommend this for anyone in and around the area. We live out in the south suburbs and are still making plans to visit again. ^_^
L M
Amazing place to take your children the park is like no other.
The ice skating ribbon..bring your own ice skates..it's free or rent
They have a rock climbing as well.
Joseph Osmond
Easy to find parking (it's right under the park). There are many different sections for different age groups of kids. There is a splash pad and rock climbing wall as well as scooter/skate ramp. The kids played for 2 straight hours and didn't want to leave.
Angel
Beautiful park. Love the ice skating.
Michael Erickson
Neat structures for the children, however there needs to be benches or more areas with shade! It gets so hot please consider shade things that work!
Cassandra Rauh
We went ice skating at the ribbon and loved it! The ribbon has a slight incline and decline, this makes it so fun! Ice skating by the bean was more crowded so we didn't try that area. We brought our own ice skates and put our shoes in a backpack and wore it while skating. All the lockers were taken. There is a place to put your thing in the open that many people use, but we did not.
Malcolm Gardner
It is great place with plenty of space and activities. Whether you want peace or pandemonium you will find it here.
Busy Bee
Visiting Maggie Daley park is a must when you have kids and visit Chicago!
Charles Felish
Lots of walking space, artful landscaping, and plentiful playground and climbing equipment for ages 5-12, all free. A few seasonal pay activities for the older kids who are looking for a bit more action.

Love this park. I wish there were parks like this when I was a kid! My only complaint.... Being that this park is downtown and in Chicago, it is always packed with children, and when I say packed, I mean packed! It is very easy to lose your child if you take your eyes off of them for just a minute. My daughter climbed up the slide, and next thing you know I couldn't find her. Scariest 5 minutes of my life!! A security guard and two nice ladies brought her back to us, thank God! I recommend if you visits, have two adults with the kids at all times, if you have multiple kids!

Great climbing walls in new park in downtown Chicago. Belay walls as well as bouldering. The walls are encircled by a skating ribbon, which is ice in the winter and wheels the rest of the year. Challenging, incredibly well-designed playground areas for kids. Water spray areas in Summer. Picnic areas. Adjacent to Millennium Park, accessed by long, undulating bridge covered in snakeskin-like metal. Great for families that enjoy walking, since the park is set up to include long walks between the different attractions. Bring a stroller or wagon for when kids get tired. Bring water and a picnic or snacks. Bring scooters or skates for skate ribbon. Consult park map to find attractions that interest you. Secure, safe, pleasant, clean, well-kept.

Because my kids loved it, I love this place.

A great park to spend time with the children while having fun. There are numerous gaming stations with slides, swings and water features. You can also do rock climbing with the panorama of skyscrapers as a backdrop. Fantastic!

Wow, this park is amazing, beautiful, entertaining and hilarious, right? I mean you can walk here and spend the whole day playing or walking around the park, just having fun. It's definitely the place you can go with your friends or fiance. No joke, guys, come see!

A great place to bring your children. Has a lot of playground structures individually curated for all ages of children. Lots of trees and benches, and the playground has restrooms. Very nice park for an afternoon of fun!

This place is an awesome place to take your little ones and have fun. I love that they have an area to eat lunch or you can have a picnic on the grass. The port a potties are kept clean and there's always tissue.
Zachary Zimmer
Wow, 1 of the best public parks we've been to! So many different areas for the kids to play in including a mega play structure with tons of slides, 2 separate water areas, an imaginary forest, mini golf, and many areas to spread out and relax. Can't beat the location either right by Millennium Park and the lake. Parking nearby too but quite expensive.

It was a beautiful day for me to visit the park for the ve re y first time. I found the park to be beautiful, convenient to walk to. A lovely place in downtown Chicago right by the Lake. It was well maintained and the bathroom by the skating ribbon was nice and clean. I look forward to visiting again soon.

Massive kids park with multiple play areas. Be careful, it's easy to loose track of your kids when it's busy. Make sure you have a good parent to child ratio during peak use times.
Alex Joppie
Great playgrounds for kids--just wish there was more shade and concessions.
The skating ribbon in winter is one-of-a-kind. If you really want to skate though, take a day off and go on a weekday when it's not crowded.
Max Foorman
Really fantastic kids park, but be ready to be active with your kids to keep them safe. I have a 3 year old that climbs everything in sight, you will have to climb along with kids under 10 to keep from potential catastrophe.

We recently went ice skating here right before the Christmas holiday. I could argue that it felt like it was quite a cold long wait to even get inside the warm building to do the skate rental, but it was the holiday season so it was probably busier than usual. It is about the same price as going to the movies so it is worth the unique experience.

So many fun things to do here with the little ones! This is hands down the best play park we have been to in Chicago. There are fountains and sprinklers to keep the kiddos cool in the heat of the summer, too.
Whitney Taylor
The kids had a blast. Alot of fun things to do. The park is free but you have to pay for roller blades scooters and rock climbing. They have family night which is free. You just have to watch your kids like a hawk.
Carla Launer
A fun place for kids to play and adults to people watch, relax and enjoy the outdoors. Adjacent to Millennium Park and the bridge. Several eating places close by. Clean and quiet spot to get away from all the city noise.
Vivian Peoples
A little expensive but great for children and family to enjoy. It is by the beach, they have Rock climbing for the kids and there is an hot dog stand across the street. There are other things to explore along the way. Buck fountain , Museum and Sheds Aquarium.

This is a beautiful park with lush green trees in the midst of busy loop area. Definitely do the Snake bride to get an awesome view of the buildings around, specially at night. It has nice areas to sit and relax and enjoy downtown aura !!!

I wish I could give this beautiful park more stars. It is absolutely beautiful and because of this it attracts everyone in the city. I took my daughter for her birthday on a Monday afternoon in June and it was a zoo. We couldn't even enjoy the areas in her age range because there were older kids rough housing in it. It made our visit stressful and not enjoyable. Maybe when the newness wears off we will go again.

Looks neat and has a nice ambiance but the playground set up can be a parent's nightmare. If your kid is under 5, the place can be skipped. Don't get me wrong. The kids of all ages will love it and there are plenty of things for kids under 5 but I guarantee you they'll be more attracted to the more dangerous big-kid areas. The main popular structure for the big kids is huge. Those kids are crowding in places that you as an adult can't get to or often even locate your kid in. 2 seconds later they're down a huge slide 20 feet away from the spot you thought they were. Also, the artificial play hills in the playground area are intensely steep making it dangerous for kids 4 and under and on your poor legs and ankles. In all, it's very crowded and best for older kids 6 and up.

Maggie Daley Park is absolutely beautiful. It is relaxing to stroll through, but not boring. It is conveniently located as well! I love skating at the ice ribbon in winter. My favorite part however, may be the bridge connecting it to Millenium Park- it is beautiful and winding, and the walls are the perfect height to leave it open air, yet still block out the cars passing underneath, keeping the serene feeling of the gardens intact.
Ashok Goli
Has an awesome kiddie playground for all ages. An enchanted forest, mirror maze, walking paths, picnic spots, skating rinks, etc. Just a bridge away from Millennium park. And a couple of blocks walk from the Buckingham fountain.
Faith Meier
This park is HUGE!!! With SO MANY play areas! There are 3 GINORMOUS slides! My son had an absolute blast! The fact that it's so vast, made the fact that there were so many people not even matter, because there were plenty of play areas for everyone! If you have kids, and you find yourself in the Chicago Area, you NEED to make a visit to this park!
Jordan Skole
Ive been to parks and playgrounds all over the world. While some come close (Jardin de Luxemburg) nothing tops Maggie Daley Park.
Keith Conrad
Great park. The slides and play structure are huge. There are good play structure for kids off all ages. The twin is closer by so it's easy to get to as well.
Edy Gies
My 9yo son and I love this park. Plan on playing with the kids to make the most of your visit. I wouldn't recommend this for small children because the structures are very large and keeping track of toddlers may prove challenging.

Beautiful Park. Wonderful scenery. Lake Michigan next door!!!
Kristen DeLap
Fantastic imaginative play playground that is good for multiple ages - but not great parking, very little shade. Be prepared to walk a lot to get to actual playground. Bring lots of water if it's warm out. Bathrooms are portapotties.
Annette Rogotowicz
Amazing park with playgrounds separated into suggested age groups. Downside - not fenced off in case your kid likes to run off. Need to keep a close eye on them and follow closely . Each playground area is easily accessible by pram

Nice place for kids to explore and have lots of fun. Different parks within the park for all ages. Love that they have a wall to explore for beginners and pro's. Roller blading and scooter course for all ages.
Conrad Friess
Welll kept park with neat walkways and sculptures. Awesome ice skating ring in winter

Right next to Millennium Park, just a bridge away, this park definitely has a lot more to do. From a climbing wall, a roller skating track that goes around the park, and even a mini golf course, there are many activities to partake in. Of course, there are lots of free spaces, and a children's playground area, so it is not necessary to pay in order to enjoy the space.
Armil Biag
Great destinations place for kids and adults. It's packed with people but not to crazy. You can't find street parking in the area, but street parking in Chicago can be pricey. I finally gave into installing the Park Chicago app... Totally worth it.
Michelle salgado
Great place for my 1 year old to run around free in a safe environment. My baby loves it here! Only thing is that there are too many big kids in the 2-5 year old area.
The Cool Panda.
What I love the most about Maggie Daley Park is that it isn't a place exclusively for a certain age group. All are welcome! Due to Covid-19 we couldn't play in the park itself so we just enjoyed the scenery and the cool breezes from the lake.

My sons and I have been to a lot of parks across the country. This park is hands down the best park we have visited. Chicago has a way of doing Parks like no other city. The scaled play structures, the water features, the epic slides. We spent hours moving through this complex. They had a ball. There is no commercial junk. Pure fun! Bravo.
Megan Ortman
We took a trip to the theater district in Chicago and walked to the Maggie Daley park. It has the best playground I've ever been to and the ice skating rinks and rock climbing walls were awesome too. Definitely worth the walk with the two kids.
Nathan Mendoza
I loved it. My dad actually is working on the park so I get to spend most of my free time there with him and yeah but other than that its a great addition to the city of Chicago. Since I'm only 11 it's a good time for me and my brother who's 9 to hang out with our family
Tim D
An excellent play area for kids. I took my 3 year old and 7 year old sons here during our summer vacation and they both absolutely loved it. It's the best free park that we have been to.
Sarah Helser
Not much to see but beautiful flowers

I was recently in the Chicago area and happened to stop by Maggie Daley Park. It's a spectacular place in Chicago and a good place to relax and take a break from the busy streets of the city. It's mainly good for little kids (aged from infants to 6) because a lot of the playground setup and equipment is meant for them, but if you have older kids it's not too bad either because there's still the large playground and the Enchanted Forest areas that they will still enjoy.
If you are there by yourself, enjoy a nice popsicle and a shady bench to cool off and chill (if the heat's still bothering you, I'm sure the water in the Enchanted Forest will cool you down).
Tim Rubbelke
This park is crazy in terms of what it's got. A ton of different areas divided out by rough ages for the kids. Rock Climbing and I'm told a skating ribbon, but honestly it's so big I couldn't tell.
The only bathrooms I found though were some portapotties (There are probably others but we didn't see them and it was crowded so we hit the first bathrooms we saw.)
Also the bridge to get there from Millennium Park is longer than it needs to be by a lot, which does make the walk a bit much with a stroller.

I recently visited this park to skate on the ice skating ribbon. The views of the city were amazing and I enjoyed the unique rink shape. The price is the same as Millennium Park (free except $12 skate rental). One side of the rink seems to be almost downhill which is unique and fun because it makes you go faster.
David Newman
Unquestionably one of the most beautiful childrens park settings in the world. Challenging and interesting age appropriate play areas. Beautiful landscaping with great views of the Lake. Easy access via the iconic Solieri bridge to Millennium Park.

My children love this place so much

Huge park. Needs more shaded areas but overall very nice. Good for all ages. Scooters and skates for rent. Field house with water fountains, lockers, and bathrooms
