We camped in the event park here. This was a very beautiful and peaceful park. Your are surrounded by mountain or hills. At night the stars come out in full. Loved the river and would loved to have brought a boat, but we were just passing through. Would like to come back and explore this area.

Fun family memories. Clean. Easy to access water and docks.

Great campground perched along the side of Lucky Peak res. Traffic on the main access road is noisy and fast. They need to put some speed limits along the Mack's Creek section. Tent camping on one side of the road along the reservoir, RV camping on the other side.

Awesome place to camp, close to boise! Head for lucky peak reservoir, keep right , past marina, about mile and sunrise! Had a great camp with my girls . Primitive sites does have fresh water and out house . Just beautiful!
Diana Kitsune
Great place to camp. I love that the tent camping area has dedicated parking spots and it’s own access to the water. No showers or running water in the bathroom, but the pit toilets were kept clean. There is an area where you can use a pump to get water. Note you have to pack out your trash and bags are provided.
Great place for water activities!

Beautiful place cool water perfect during this hot summer, you can camp on site but need to get permit from ranger Station same with reserving a pavilion. Be aware that Jetsons and boats are a constant sight so be careful going past the safety bouie.
Kelly Murphy
Always a great time. Only reason for the 4 stars is because of all the stairs you have to go up and down to get to your site and the lake. The lake (creek) is perfect with plenty of docks and fun waves when the boats go by:)

I grew up in Boise and I did not know until this year that you could rent your own private dock for the day and even camp here. We had a fantastic time

BEST CAMP SITE EVER! They gave us frisbees for the kids, knives for the adults, and drink coozies. They have a swimming area roped off from the lake. Each camp site has there own private boat dock.

We had a nice spot. Very hot in July. Watch out the shade covers there had hornets.

Mack's Creek Trail is a family friendly meadow hike right outside of Boise. Also would be good for snow shoeing or Nordic skiing on a good snow year.
Stephanie Gump
Fun clean quiet very low tide right now but still has enough water to swim and float. Amazing how much water when it is full. You can see the rings showing the decrease of water line.
Agnes Chang
Super friendly camp host; beautiful, quiet location with lots of tent and sheltered table space by the waterfront.
OA Munkres
Nice time to get out and get in the water. Place is always clean. Water level is alot higher than it was a few weeks ago.

It was at best average. Very hot when we were there. The two other groups camping there ran their loud generators all day. From 7 am to 10pm. We would leave throughout the day and they were running constantly. The host was going to let them run through them through night till we asked that they turn them off. Annoying. Our covered table was full of hornets. Not going to be a repeat campground for us.

Nice campground overlooking the reservoir. Water only available from a pump down a trail. Clean vault toilet. RV on one side of road, tents on other side. Quiet at night.

Great spot! Camped here in early October... we were the only ones there. Good fishing despite the lake being really low. Nice place for the dogs to run around, quiet, private, and clean. Had running water outside, no flush toilets but no sinks or indoor bathroom amenities. Would definitely stay there again! Bought firewood and supplies up the road right past the dam. Nice camp host.

We spend a few weekends every summer at Macks Creek and it never disappoints! Quite, clean, and RV sites right off the reservoir make for perfect summertime boating/camping. We’ve reserved picnic spaces for birthdays, family reunions, and other parties. Plenty of space to spread out with a firepit, large covered tables, and some with docks right off the sites, keep us planning to go back every year. The on site camp hosts are incredibly helpful and friendly, too! Our kids love when they stop by to bring toys and stickers. We highly recommend Macks Creek!

Macks Creek Park is a place where you Reserve camping spots and parking spots. It's a good place to go if you are tent camping and you don't do it very much because it's close to town and everything's kind of set up for you with shelter canopies over tables some bathrooms no running water at the campsites though.
Charles Honaker
This location is closed. We drove about 10 miles and found a primative spot.
Mike Peters
Went here on a cold night in December. Barricades blocked the entrances to parking, but the camp host said you can still camp up to three days if you haul your things in and out. Quiet and beautiful under a full moon!
Glenn Compton
Caught fish, swam, camped, hiked, star gazed and relaxed.

Love this place. Docks, covered picnic tables, and grills. Only problem is the sight host is constantly invading your privacy as well as day use visitors walking thru paid campsites and using our dock even though we paid a camp fee for the weekend. My suggestion is reserve a spot online.
Jerry Dinger
Nice tent site next to the lake, good hand pump water, pit toilets, boat ramp, NO showers. $10 to primitive tent camp includes day use of lake and ramp. & $5 for day use of lake and ramp only.

I Loved it and thinking if moving to Idaho

This was the starting point of our 11 mile swim the great Goose migration. The camp site is well kept and is a nice place to take your family
Scott Thornton
Love this little cove for day outings with all sizes of groups up to 50 people. Docks and swimming a available with reservation s or come early to get lucky and get a spot without a res.
Luke Armstrong
Pretty relaxing place to visit, more on the quieter end of the lake. Beaches for kids to play at, docks to lounge on.
elisha neal
Love this place! Can get a little crazy on the weekends. But if you can make it up during the week to camp you won't regret it!
William Soto
Great time, nice location. Glad that next year it will be closed to only people with reservations.
Dusk stoy
There are many beatels and we seen a scorpion and it's really dry and lots of rocks on the ground so bad for tent and don't go to the beach way down
