Reviews of Julia Davis Park
Regina C Becker
I visited the park but did not explore it. There are lots of different things there. I visited the rose garden, I crossed the bridge over the river, I passed by the entrance to the zoo and by the statue of Abraham Lincoln. Just walking around was relaxing and pleasant. Unfortunately, there were also a lot of misguided souls/predators who look at/follow/hound you as if you were their prey. One even stank up an area I was walking with what they assume is desirable. Not really! So, I cut my visit short.
Jennifer Riccio
The park has least 2 museums, rose garden, paddle boat rentals, horseshoes, tennis, zoo, and more. Great for a stroll around, bicycle , play a sport, and so forth. The parking is 2 hr limit there.
Ricardo “Ricky” Martinez
I don't really know Julia Davis Park but I went to a Boise Hemp Fest and that was cool. I gained knowledge, got a ton of free gear, took pics with ppl, they had entertainment, music, food, mechanical bullriding, art. The park itself seemed big.
Jen Dassinger
Loved it the rose garden is so beautiful and amazing you can also go into 2 of the buildings they have to see more things
Sallie Moore
The rose garden is beautiful! Still blooming in October. And it's free! So go here instead of a botanical garden that will charge admission.
B Travel mom
This has always been one of my favorite parks in Boise. The rose garden, zoo, big beautiful trees, sit by the river. It’s very clean and lots of shade.
Lauren Kenison
Absolutely beautiful park. So much fun to go paddle boating here! Totally worth the small fee you pay to use the boats and cruise around.
Peggy L Misner
Held our Day 2 event of BOISE HIGH SCHOOL 45th Class Reunion at the BOISE - Pavilion. Nice and shady, loved the 3x3 table setup. Lots of room and shady!! Did I mention how quiet it was behind the zoo and near the paddle boats?
Robert “Rob” Scott
Great place to bring your dog.
Lots of hippies with man buns (joysticks)
California moving in. Time to get out before they ruin our state, too.
Alyssa Bonhotel
This is my favorite place to go in Boise, the rose garden is absolutely exquisite. The roses were in full bloom and it was shady in the morning not too hot yet.
Ka 'Ohana Maikai
Beautiful park with rose garden, zoo, paddle boats, art museum, pathways, and lots of shaded areas.
Ernie Payne
Beautiful place well maintained and weather was perfect for an end of August morning.
Rochelle Wafer
It's become my pre work get away. I love to visit the geese and watch the goslings grow. There's something for everyone. I've several places where I can literally escape to watch the wind go by and not a hint of being in a city park. I love that there are tennis courts, a playground and close proximity to several museums and the zoo. It's been an awesome venue for lots of bonding time with the family.
Todd Maguire
Great public use space. Decent museum and fun zoo with picturesque river views.
Michael Poole
Great place to come relax or exercise walking the trail
Don Graham
Beautiful Boise park. Lots of space, tennis, padded boats, great friendly vibe!
Colsey Hicks
I love this park! Pretty, clean, and spacious. Plus, it has the Rose Garden, Zoo, and paddle boats. Def recommend 👌 …
Hallie R
Lots to do and see in one area. Very pretty location.
Robert Wallenmeyer
It was so awesome to see all that they had there different animal species, birds, etc. The price is well worth it! Don't forget the rose garden in the area! It is so beautiful! You've just need to go there!
Lynda Frakes
Gorgeous, shady park with something for everyone! So much space, social don't want should not be an issue. There are lots of picnic tables and Canadian geese, your dogs are welcome if on leash. The rose garden is lush, fragrant and colorful.
Jennifer Frazure
Beautiful, clean, and peaceful. Pack a lunch an have a picnic near the Rose Garden. Take the family for a fun day out at the zoo where there are exotic animals surrounded by paths of green trees.
Serenety Moon
Love this park!! It was an honor for me to take a pic with President Lincoln. The statue is beautiful!! I the museum of black history was closed. So maybe next time we come back will visit.
astryd savage
Also known as the zoo park. at least that's how I remember it haha this is a wonderful park and the zoo is great too! I'm so lucky to live in a place where they put plenty of money into all the parks and places where there are recreational activities. never run down, dirty or broken. there is always something being added onto or just something new in general. boise has so many fun things to do and for every season literally. I love my city!
Tyler
Great place to spend time. Whether it's the zoo, green belt or at the university.
Rickie Meeuwsen
Plenty of parking plus walking hiking trees as well as the zoo and Museum. As well as a plaza about cancer survivors. Enter across the street from the library and other good access points.
The new dog park is beautiful and easy to access via 2 bridges on either side of the "island".
Mike Lupercio, Jr
Such a beautiful park. Reading on the history of this place really makes you appreciate it even more. Great place for a dog walk and just chill, while in a busy city.
Kimberly Kay
We found the park to be very big, beautiful , clean, inviting, and friendly. We were at the park for a festival. so there was no doubt more people at the park than there would have been on an average day, the only Earth I guess I would have is the bathroom facilities themselves could have been kept cleaner., But like I said there were a lot of people there. I would definitely return and maybe even go to the zoo that's right next to the park.
David Roberts
Beautiful park in the city near the capital. The rose garden is amazing! Has the Boise Zoo, and art museum, a museum of Black history, a larger-than-life statue of Lincoln and many other attractions.
Open N Review
Love to play tennis there! Great courts, and amazing scenery. This is right in the middle of downtown and the atmosphere is sublime.
Susan Horton
Beautiful spot for a picnic, or just laying on a blanket in the sun. The zoo is a good one. A few different species that I've never seen at other zoos.
My one complaint: we arrived at 4:00 (an hour before closing time) and we were still charged full price. Problem being, they were feeding the animals and many were already put up for the night. Not worth the $20.00 we spent.
Maybe they should tell patrons that not all animals are out, or reduce the price for late in the day?
Jordan Stock
Big fan. A great park for a summer time stroll in Boise to stop and smell the roses-literally. The river, the walk, the museums and zoos are all close together. This place really sticks out in my mind as a good representation of my time in Boise.
Scott Wilkinson
Beautifully manicured spaces, with geese, ducks and man made lakes... Even romantic paddle boats. Tennis courts, and open spaces for picnics and sports.
Jill Campbell
Went to the zoo. Didn't know it was under construction, so we missed some of our favorites, especially the monkeys. The butterflies are always my favorite and they were very active at 10:15 this morning!
Ray Cox
We went to the Zoo. It was quaint and it needs a lot of work. Many exhibits were closed and most of the animals were not visible. Lots of potential to be a great zoo!
Boise City Tours
One of our favorite stops on our tours. We love telling the story of how this beautiful park came to be. You can spend a whole day in this area and visit the Boise art museum, the Idaho State Museum, Pioneer Village, Idaho black history Museum, the zoo and the beautiful gardens!
Kosta Milojevic
Very nice park close to downtown Boise with Art Museum, city zoo and Greenbelt near by.
Nicolette Kimmel
Always enjoy sharing this park with our family. Our youngest has been learning about its history in her class at school which made it fun this last visit to let her be the tour guide.
Athena Gappmayer
The park system is one of the next things about Boise. Julia Davis is the premiere park in Boise. There are three museums, the zoo, and numerous events held in the spring and summer months.
Sam Hudgins
Just biking and found a good spot next to the river and set up a comfy spot for a few hours. Really a well kept location and great scenery.
LADY RIGHTEOUS
I absolutely love this park! It has the most scenic views and is one of the best for taking pictures. It is one of Boise's most beautiful places to see.
Stephanie Gump
Nice park very well kept. And as a bonus you might be able to spot the giraffes. So great!
Lisa Blakeley
It was over 100° last Sunday! We were out celebrating a two year old's birthday. We sure enjoyed the shade trees where we had our picnic and cupcakes! We have some wonderful parks around town!
Bella Gold
Beautiful park, would recommend for all ages. Several geese fyi. Beautiful written dedication for the fight against cancer.
David Sidwell
Such a fun park. The trails go on for miles—perfect for a scoot, bike, or run! A lot of shade makes this park special.
Ronda Barrett
Boise great iconic Park. So close to downtown and BSU. So much to do. Relaxing, walking, tennis, horseshoes, boccee courts, pedal boats on the pond. Take a walk through the Rose Garden.
Jim Paulson (Boise Realtor)
Small but beautiful rose garden near the Boise Greenbelt, Zoo Boise and a few museums. Great outting.
Nicholas Ledbetter
Nice little park close to downtown and the river. My brother and his wife rented a paddle boat for half an hour and had a fun time. We pulled out the slides of our class A motorhome and ate lunch in the parking lot. Nice shade too.
Haley Cardoso
This is one of the best parks I’ve ver been to. Mature trees and nicely landscaped. The history posts are awesome. For someone like me who’s visiting from out of state it was nice to see a little bit of history.
The rose garden is kept up and I applaud whoever the gardeners are that take care of the garden. It’s amazing. The oddly colored blue water fountains are pretty too. They just remind me of port-a-potty blue water. Maybe a purple or pink would’ve been better.
Also, the goose poop. It’s everywhere. But I didn’t take a star off for that. Just a caution to people walking around.
Sarai Munoz
Love it! It's always so calm and clean. The river is great, nice place for a quiet picnic or reading a book ❤
Tabitha Perkins (Tabba)
Great park to play Pokemon Go! We go to this park about 4-7 times a month we love how big it is, the rose garden, Abraham Lincoln statue, Boise Zoo, and museums. It has lots to see and do.
Li Nu
Beautifully laid out park. Peaceful with nature sounds on a not-so-crowded day. The Richard & Annette Bloch Cancer Survivor Plaza has words of encouragement for those of us fighting cancer. Mind you wear the proper footwear if you'd rather not be walking thru goose droppings.
marilyn masaitis
The rose garden was beautifully laid out with many different varieties. It is not very large and 15 minutes is enough time to see this park.
Sterling Wood
One of the GEMS of Boise and it's rich culture and history. Family friendly, dog friendly, cat friendly, fish friendly, bird friendly, friend friendly and it's right outside THE BOISE ZOO! Which has Lions, Tigers, and Bears OH MY & PENGUINS!
Dave Moody (Super Dave)
Beautiful park. Thankfully it hasn't been ruined by homelessness and drugs, yet.
Andrew H
Big park with a few different attractions; zoo, bands hell, rose garden, art museum, black history museum, cancer memorial.
Lots of geese.
Parking lots are a bit beat up, with potholes.
Tina Carpenter (Tina)
Very nice park with lots of Green space to roam around. The statue of Lincoln is what I went to see. The route within the park is one way which was a little annoying since I missed the turn and had to go back onto the main road.
Kyle Jones
I love the Zoo and the park has been revamped..Great vibes all the way around!!!!
Don Hardy
Always a great place to walk, love the new vegetation replacing all the grass. That was a great decision. So natural.
Alex Gonzalez
We found this place while taking a trip up to Boise Idaho. We had arrived early and were looking for a place for our little one's to stretch their legs. We found it!!!! Its a cute little park that's behind the Discovery Center. It has swings, slides, tunnels and a big area to run around in. It's near the river but its gated so no one could fall in. They also have clean restrooms. We will be staying in Boise for a few days so we will be back in the afternoons.
Brett Gottfried
Very beautiful park in the middle of downtown Boise. We were there right when the trees were changing colors, which was amazing! There are several walking paths, a couple of tennis courts and plenty of room for sitting.
Shellli C
Gorgeous park in the heart of Boise known as one of the jewels of Boise. Contains a Band shell, rose garden, Boise Art Museum, Idaho History Museum, Idaho's Black History Museum, Green belt runs through it along side the beautiful Boise River, and the zoo to name a few.
Patrick Derieg
Beautiful park for a nice walk in the fall. The squirrels were gathering everywhere! The leaves were turning gold and red.
J Pokakaa
The rose garden is beautiful! Great place to bring the family, get married, or have a picnic.
guadalupe loskot
Beautiful place to take pictures all around, the snow makes it 10x better.
Lauren Studley
Lots of space to run around and picnic as well as beautiful rose garden
Sandi Gamblin
Beautiful autumn walk! Perfect beauty. Safe, clean and well kept.
Robert Huck
Makes your daily existence way more better

Very beautiful and taken care of! There is a zoo near by and Walgreens if you want to get a pre cooked pizza! Rose garden is so beautiful! Tons of shade! Pets allowed! Good restrooms with free feminine hygiene products! Plenty seating! Overall amazing!

Brian Evans
Best Park Ever!!! Beautifully kept and great river views!!
JD Park is a staple of Boise.
Laura Earley
Beautiful evening under the trees listening to The Boise Highlanders at the Gene Harris Bandshell.
zuesonearth
Nice place to sit and enjoy a bit if nature. Paddle boats are for rent during the summer months.
Gerry Gman
Julia davis park to go relax in the shade or experience all the culture that comes with it, i walk my dog there and always feel so greatly tranquil.
Cha'vette Ware
Such a beautiful environment. I enjoyed my quiet morning stroll along with the beautiful scenery.
Onyx of DarkLite
A great park close to the zoo and museums. On this occasion I went for Goddess Fest 2019. Lovely music, belly dancers and vendors.
Nancy Champagne
Beautiful downtown park with access to the greenbelt walkway along the river, plus the zoo and art museum are right there as well.
Josiah Schneider
It's a nice park for a walk. No playground equipment though.
Sarah
This is an adorable park in the heart of Boise. It has the zoo, Art museum, natural science museum, and Franklin morial, and the library. A lot of festivals occur in this park throughout the summer.
Shandalf The Green
I usually come here when I want to visit the rose garden and decide to wander off. There are so many lovely old trees, and it's right next to the green belt. Except for days with events and parties, it's sprawling enough that you can usually find a little piece of grass (or a picnic table) next to a gnarled tree and just vibe.
This place is PERFECT for Pokémon Go on event days or even for raid hour. I'm usually too shy to talk to strangers, but I'm sure you could get a few new trainer codes on the right day!
Ryan
Such a lovely park, large trees, center of boise right next to the zoo and the art museum. Many family memories made here!
Tricey Trice
This place is beautiful!!! I fell in love with the rose garden! A must see if you are in Boise!!!
dmhuntsman
Friendly geese everywhere and a nice lake to look out over. There's even peddle boats to ride.
James Mcardle
There is a bunch to do around here. The flowers are beautiful. Well worth taking the time to visit.
Becky Breshears
We love the zoo and visit often!
Jacob Dunning
A fantastic park with good walking paths, lots of shade, and playground equipment for the little kids. Bring oats, cut grapes, cooked rice, or peas to feed the geese. No bread! Lots of Ingress portals if that's your game instead of Pokemon.
Adam Lea (AJ)
I love Julia Davis Park. The park, the zoo, the pond and the river make it a great place to spend a weekend!
Tucker Nitzel
Had an awesome time at the boise zoo, although, the species diversity at the zoo has really gone down over the last 20 years
Tom Ellison
A great urban park with access to the greenbelt and Boise State University.
Ashley Orth
The rose garden was perfect!!! The weather was incredible, as well. Can't wait to visit again!
Nathaniel Amey
Great park in Boise along the water. Great views by day or night. Many out walking as well as biking. There is a lot of interesting history posted along the trail about the Davis family for those that also enjoy learning about the history. Miles worth of trails to enjoy. Paved surfaces are perfect for bikes and strollers.
Ciara Preator
We love walking around the park! It’s so beautiful 😍 …
Sally J Hanson
I grew up in Boise. It's a great place to walk along the Greenbelt by the Boise River. It's a great place for picnicking. Lots of trees planted many years ago provide shading. There is a pathway to walk on taking you through the park. Within the park area is the Boise Zoo, the Art Museum, the Idaho Historical Museum, the Black History Museum, and a couple houses to visit. A tennis court is also available along with various picnicking areas. Art in the Park Festival is planned yearly. In the early days, people would spend an afternoon listening to an assortment of musical entertainment. It's a friendly family park.
Caitlin Body
A beautiful place to walk around. I liked going to the Art Museum and then looking around the grounds. It is a beautiful place to explore.
Andrea Bird
Beautiful setting, nice well maintained grounds. Close to the zoo and museums. Right off a main road. We had to look for a spot to park but we were there during spring break on a weekend so no surprise really.
E B
Great park with a beautiful Rose Garden. Perfect place for families to take children for a nice stroll or Sunday picnic.
Rad Gyp
Love the park and the green belt! But O.M.G.! Goose POOP EVERY WHERE.
James S (Jim)
Not so great in the snowy winter. Summer would be more fun.
Tim Trerise
This is a beautiful place to park and get onto the Boise River trail. We really enjoyed it, and you can go upstream and downstream from here. The zoo being here is just a bonus! Once you cross over the river you're right there at Idaho U and great walkways everywhere. Definitely recommended!
Lingchun Liu
This is my everyday Must come spot. It's full of live and beautiful the whole year around.
Rebecca Avery
Beautiful park with zoo, rose garden, picnic pavilions, river, paddleboats on the lake, and multiple museums. The greenbelt cuts through it and all right next to downtown.
Beth Stanley
Beautiful Rose Gardens. Very nice park@
Yvette Cooley
Love this zoo!Favorite place to visit with the Grands👍❤ …
Daria Wicks
Great place to take your children. Well kept, many amenities for picnics, cooling off, or having a good read.
JustAn0therGamer
In July of 2021 we were kayaking at one of the parks when the kayak with all our things tipped. The people there were very helpful and we found our things. If you're planning on going rafting at one of the parks, don't fall in.
fitzie
It's a very nice place. Lots of shade and the rose garden is well-kept. There are many well-made benches and picnic tables scattered about. Very spacious and open. Definitely would recommend checking out after seeing the art museum, Black history museum, and/or the zoo. (Which are all located next to it)
Tanner Paladino
Great spot for walking and enjoying natural beauty.
Jacob Shin
It was a nice park by the river but I didn't think it was that great. We've been to a few other parks along the Greenbelt and had heard recommendations to go here.
There's a small zoo and tennis courts and ample parking but it felt like a standard park... Unless we missed out on an amazing part.
The little bridge over the water that crosses over to the Boise State campus side is a nice spot to see the river and take pics
Joey Neil
The boats are always fun. You can see a bunch of huge fish out there.
Bonnie Arriaga
Took my grandson yesterday to the park for a picnic lunch after a visit to the Discovery Center. The park has plenty of picnic tables, greenbelt along the river and, of course, the zoo. We'll definitely visit the zoo next time.
Valerie Donahoe
One of my favorite places to go for a walk or picnic in the shade.
Jeff Bennett
What a beautiful park in the heart of Boise, ID that has everything from playgrounds, to green belts, to paddle boats, to even a zoo in the middle. A fantastic family adventure awaits.
Monica Ezzell
Art in the park was very enjoyable!! Great food, awesome music
Heather Maxey
The park is gorgeous, especially this time of year when the roses are just coming into bloom. It's so sweet.
James Dorman
Clean and wonderful park to take your family to.
Jen
So beautiful. This is where my husband and I got married. Beautiful memories ❤
Beautiful place. Especially during fall season.
Heidi G
Nice park! Too many geese :P
Chris Snyder
Great park for enjoying a nice walk.
DOD M
Great suggestion would be to start a community garden at any amd every public park to help support those in need with healthy organic food !
Angela
One of my favorite old parks in Boise and favorite parks period.
Victoria Napolitano
This larger than life Abraham Lincoln was beautifully designed. It sits across the street from the Julia Davis Park. The generous Julia Davis giving a young girl an apple. It has been told she was a very caring and generous woman. Tragically, her kindness may have been the death of her.
Joe Maldonado
Nice park, but can get crowded, needs more parking.
Dan Mehler
Nice park to spend an afternoon in, includes a rose garden and is adjacent to the zoo
Julia Dybdal
Coming from Arizona, it's a beautiful and green park.
Martin C
Very nice park, just watch out for the scads of goose poop
amy martinez
Just as beautiful as I remember it as a kid. Still the same amount of annoying geese and their poop but a beautiful park for a nice walk or bike ride
Phyllis Carlson
Beautiful park, lots to see.
Shitsville101
Close to the zoo and a couple museums, this is a great place to find a good time. Also close enough to downtown for walking. Small play area for kids and good place for families. There are restrooms in front of and behind the zoo, a paddle boat pond where you can rent a man powered paddle boat for up to three people and a small rose garden. Numerous festivals take place here throughout the year so be sure to keep your ears open.
Prateek Kumar
Photos speaks all about the park..!! 😊 …
David Bradfield
Awesome place to visit. Great for families, friend or even a stroll by yourself. You can rent electric scooters and bicycles to go around of you like. You can access places to float the river during the season. There is fishing in a few spots also.
Roy Lujan
Great Park. Went to the Soul Food Festival. It was awesome.
Elias Lines
You never know how good the Boise City parks are until you leave and live somewhere else for a while. The zoo right next to the park is a lot of fun.
Ryan Stafford
The Julia Davis Park is a huge park with many attractions in the area including the Boise Art Museum, Idaho Black History Museum, Zoo Boise, Gene Harris Bandshell, and Discovery Center of Idaho.
M Labbe
Family friendly, dog friendly, clean, beautiful tons of activities for the whole family. Bring a picnic there are lots of picnic tables. There are BBQ stations, large enough for family reunions. The kids can enjoy the huge playground and play in the sand at the beaches that line the river. Bring your buddies for a game of volleyball, or get a workout in at the stationary workout station. In the summer you can float the river! And let's not forget the Boise Zoo and the Greenbelt! The park is located down town Boise. If you'd like to go try one of the amazing restaurants while at the park, you can easily walk into the city from the park, everything is within walking or bike riding distance from Julia Davis Park!
Perry Bugbee
We meet a friend there to let her visit with her dog while we are fostering the dog for her. It was a nice size park. The children enjoyed it.
jason rojeski
Always a nice place to visit. Lots of different options and things to do. Even if just a walk
Melissa Gonzales
Beautiful park with multiple attractions in it. We went to zoo today, fun but inside exhibits closed. Museum and discovery center to explore. People preparing for summer and more outside exploring. Lots of walkway space and green belt to exercise and enjoy Boise River!!!
Jake Boone
Fantastic park to throw the ball around with the kiddo and have a sandwich watching all the ducks.
The Autistic Traveler
Paired with its “twin,” Ann Morrison Park, this green space is arguably the most scenic, natural, beautiful attraction in Idaho’s already-green capital city. It’s imperative to give Julia Davis Park its due diligence by doing one of many activities, such as picnicking, people-watching, photographing, or the combination of the three. The proximity along the unmissable Boise River Greenbelt helps to solidify this place’s worth.
I could spend all day begging you to visit Julia Davis Park, but I trust you’ll heed my advice and go ASAP! Recommended to the nth degree!
Larry Blauer
Went there for a memorial and that happened to be on my birthday my wife seen a plaque of somebody her and her family knew in the garden it was really cool we let a bunch of balloons go play good friend that was a an employee at nwts Northwest traffic services a flagging company out of Boise I am well known there
Alicia Vowell
Very nice park the geese are extraordinary and it's peaceful and bathrooms there and lots of room . The grass and landscaping is outstanding as well
Misty N.
Quick lunch with kids on the run. Such a beautiful park and the rose garden was just stunning today!
Alex Navarro
Beautiful park, kept very clean and has super well-done maintenance. I was impressed with the size and beauty of the park. Had lots of flexibility for bigger groups of people, pathways with scooters and a fun environment. Great place to bring your kids, host an event at, or even take photos at.
Audi N Sade
Beautiful park with plenty of shade. Gave 4 stars because the parking can be a nightmare.
Shannon George
Beautiful park on the green belt, with a zoo and a few museums all within walking distance.
Hailey Brennan (Qwill Brennan)
This is a great place to visit. Not only is their the rose garden, my personal favorite. They also have. The black history museum, art museum, zoo and boise history museum here. It's a great place for kids or just people who enjoy history, art, or zoos. There's also the green belt near by. They also have different events here. Art in the park and the goddess festival to name a few. Over all a good experience all around.
The one thing I feel like I have to mention. This is in no ways the park's doing. Their normally good at keeping the park pretty clean, however when walking into the park their was a dead squirrel in the grass near by that disturbed me.
Again the park is normally really good at cleaning. I wanted to bring it up just because I was hoping to make the staff at the park aware its their if they read this. I've lived here since I was little and have been to the park about a thousand times. I asure you, they don't normally have dead squirrels lying around. Liveing ones? Yes, geese even? Unfortunetly yes.
In short, they have so much to do at the park and keep the park pretty clean on a regular basis. If they did I wouldn't have given the park four stars.
Monica H (Gito3115)
This is a great park. Lots of old trees, big open grassy areas, large rose garden, picnic tables, pond with paddle boats in the warmer months, pavilions, tennis courts, the zoo where you can get a free peek at the giraffes, nice restrooms and the greenbelt along the river. Art museum and history museums all right there also!
Craig Childress Johnson
I saw it's flocked in a nice fresh snowfall. It had a magical sensibility to it. I am told that it is full of roses in the summertime. I will have to come back and see those
Antonio Barata
Awesome park along river. Large trees for shade. Nice footpaths. Zoo is there. Lovely place to relax, walk, bike, picnic, chill. Recommended

Beautiful quiet setting near the zoo and the state capital. Pond, geese, rose garden, gorgeous mature shade trees, picnic benches, restrooms, ample parking, and easy to find.
Cora Lee
I love this park. The rose garden is a cute place, and I've seen wedding and engagement photos being taken there on multiple occasions. Right next to the art museum, the zoo, the greenbelt, library, Anne Frank Memorial, and another museum that I don't remember what it is. Lots of community events like The Buddy Walk, Art in the Park, and others.
Heidi Smith
We adopted a tree for my father in this park. We come at least once a year to celebrate his life with family and friends
Joe Daniel
Great park. Also where the Boise Zoo is located.
Vic Buc
A beautiful park. So many trees, shade everywhere you want it, especially on a warm day. A perfect spot for the art to be displayed. Music was wonderful too. The rose garden was a site not to be missed. Gorgeous!
Julie Schnebbe
Nice park, not the easiest to find things, and the only playground we found was only for 2-5 year olds.
Ann Hatch
Julia Davis park offers a lot to do. From relaxing on the grass to a variety of learning and entertainment options. Paddle boats are a blast. The Discovery Center, Boise Zoo, History Museum and Art Gallery are all amazing.
Stephen Fields
Great park with lots of attractions. Haven't even explored into the park and went to the zoo and the discovery center. Feel like there is a lot more to the park, but ran short on time.
Amanda Morgan
This park has some fun features like paddle boats and a playground. It's also right next to the Greenbelt and river! Just watch out for the millions of geese. 🤣 …
Kasey
Definitely needs more parking for people who want to visit the park and the zoo but overall still a great place to go.
jolynn wallace
A popular place in between the Zoo and the rose garden.
Elizabeth MurphySweet
Absolutely the most amazing beautiful park in Boise. So many activities in one place. If you play pokemon go this is the best place to do so! Highly recommend spending time here! 🌲🌳 …
Shelby Lopez
Great quiet place to walk. Lot of things near to look around. There's lots of geese so be careful when eating at the park. Plus, please stop feeding them junk. Its not good for them. Bring corn or veggies to feed the geese and ducks!
David Arzuza
It is a peaceful, beautiful and comfortable place.
Marguerite Testa
Love this park! The rose garden is beautiful!
Alyssa Cooper
Immaculately maintained. The rose garden is gorgeous!
Greyandgreenfeathers
Great place to get some exercise. Walk the dogs. Dip your feet in the river! Please pick up after your pets though. We dont have very many dog friendly places left on the greenbelt :/
Mohammed Z Islam
Love this area
Will S
Absolitely beautiful park that obviously sees plenty of visitors but is spotless. Well kept and scenic as well as quiet. Great place for kids to run. Biking, hiking, running friendly. Parking is plentiful. Small zoo in the center. Tennis courts are nice and a pretty lagoon.
Amanda Hamell
We love the playground for our one year old. It is mostly for younger kids ages 2-5 so he is able to walk around most of it without to much help. It is fully fenced except the one entrance so I can let my little one have a little more freedom then usual. Four baby swings and four slides with a couple of tunnels. Very nice park.
KYLER STOWE
Beautiful Zoo! Everything was very clean and the animals look so happy in their big habitats. There was a lot of shade to walk and hang out in with plenty of benches. They have a few animals that I have never seen in the larger zoo we have in San Diego. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We forgot our sunscreen but fortunately they have several different ones to chose from in the gift shop. At one of the monkey exhibits there is a staircase that you can walk up and see them up at their level swinging on ropes and swings. Then there is a slide that the kids can come down. So unique and fun! Parking was free and not far from the entrance.
H&S
Such a great location near downtown. Beautiful park. Clean. Quiet and we felt safe. Right near the zoo. Easy parking. Lots of trees and shade. Family friendly. Ducks everywhere too. I'd love to go back and walk on a nice day.
Shane Baker
I have not been to the park in many years. It looks great.
Brayden Godfrey
This is a beautiful park to visit in any capacity. We have taken family pictures here, had picnics, tailgated, bike rides, feeding the ducks, and much more!
Lou Lintereur
Beautiful city park across the river from Boise State University! Adjacent to the zoo, history museum, and a picturesque lake. I use it for a starting point for walks or runs on the greenbelt.
Swag
The rose garden is right next to this and is better in every way
Paige Smith
Great atmosphere. Tons of parking. Tables. Places to rent out. Fun weekend activities.
K Johnson
It's a huge park with lots of bird doo doo, but lots of shade, depending on where ur at. Always something going on & lots of people 😁 …
Luna Moon
The clean up crew were friendly and welcoming. They helped point us in right direction. The garden was very pretty and offered so many diff roses :) the garden is in the midst of a lot of surroundint attractions. A art museum a zoo and a black history museum. There was no fee to attend the rose garden.
Michael Last name
It's a pretty park. It seems to be missing something though. It has trees, grass and places to do your... "business".
Brandon Mart
A great park, and something to be proud of so close to downtown in the City of Trees. Lots to explore here, and I still have yet to see it all. I'm usually passing through on the green belt, but you can definitely make a trip for it and explore all the hidden attractions here.
Bipasha Barman
Park is lovely but parking spots are always full
It's pointless to argue
Beautiful park, green with lots of shade. Path right through park lined with trees on both sides goes right up to zoo. If you like being outside and maybe catching some music on outside stage. I recommend, especially because Boise river runs right next to park.
Dida Vidia
A very nice park for picnics, sports and more. Its has two basketball court, kids playground and a soccer field. The toilets are super clean so is the area itself. There's a huge space for other activities as well. I would definitely recommend this park to anyone.
Lucky Johnston
Lovely park just across rive is BSU Boise State University . Zoo band shell rose garden amusement psrk are with boats to rent and rides plus play grounds for children, tennis courts, horse shoe pits and more. Enjoy.
Melissa Cortes
So lovely and right on front of the Zoo.
Ben Harris
A nice park with lots of shade. I walk through this park on my way home from classes at Boise State, and it's always well maintained and clean. Plenty of walkways, water features, and Zoo Boise at the center. Watch out for the geese though! They can be aggressive.
Jordan Wegner
This park is perfect for a weekend stroll. They have the blue fountains, several awnings, and tons of bike and foot paths. Plus there is plenty of shade and grass to hang out on. Ideal place to kill time before heading over to the flicks.
Angie Nance
Very busy but also very beautiful. Took a nice walk with my daughter from the Zoo around BSU and back.
Weather was great and it was nice to get out.
Vasanth Pandiarajan
Rose Garden is small yet beautiful adjacent to a park with tall trees and green grass.
Michele Shopland
Always love coming to Julia Davis Park!! Went to Hemp Fest 2022 and it was so much fun!!!
Amanda S.
It is a nice park for the whole family to enjoy. There is a lot to see and do all around you from museums to the park to the zoo and more! You could enjoy an entire day here, enjoy a picnic and not get bored.
Heidi Gibby
This is a large, enjoyable park. There's a zoo there, and the greenbelt goes through it along the river. It's a nice place to walk and to have gatherings. There's also a cancer-survivor monument/walk and ponds. There are a lot of geese that live there.
Eric Boss
Hemp fest was a great time. Love going to the Idaho Rocks kindness booth. Wonderful people fun atmosphere and such a positive outlook. Look forward to seeing them at the next event
ZUESONEARTH
This park is a natural beauty. Has plenty of places to park. Tennis courts, walking and biking paths throughout. Plenty of birds and nature to be enjoyed. The spring time is especially nice to enjoy baby ducks and geese.
Shaina Lynch
Lovely place with lots to do! Just went to playground today though.
Wil Roe!
We went for the Soulfood Festival 2022.
The park was fantastic!
Wanda Graham
Sure did love the roses garden there. And i must have been seeing things. There was a white go cart zooming through and looked like one of the Bundy men's driving with a lady by his side. 🙄
Anyway they didnt have a different TShrit stand. Hard to find a hot dog stand. The Hemp festival needed more different varieties of foods stand and clothing.🤔
Katrina Whitten
Born and raised in the neighborhood. Well taken care of and love all the green and trees.its like walking through the forest right in town. Very peaceful!
Gary Mccall
Check out the rose garden then take in the young artists at BAM. A wonderful exhibit that celebrates American contributions
Josh Huemiller
This park is an excellent place to go in search of Pokemon with the family. There are often groupings or nests of certain Pokemon to be found for easy catching. It is a beautiful park with plenty of trees, water, and other features. Plus it is zoo adjacent as well which is always tons of fun as well.
Tony DeFilippis
This is a nicely maintained park. Check out the Rose Garden.
Halle Alexander
Beautiful park with tennis courts, several pavilions, lots of trees, pedal boats and walking paths. The zoo is in hhe middle of the park and most days you can see the giraffes in their habitat & several other animals. The biggest problem is that there are a ton of geese at Julia Davis so watch where you walk because if you don't then you will step in goose poop.
Sandy Pilon
Absolutely gorgeous park and facility! Acres of land beautifully landscaped; a glorious rose garden. Benches, tables, everywhere for relaxing, dining, just enjoying the scenery. If that's not enough, there's the zoo adjacent. Come, enjoy!
Autumn Stroupe
Beautiful park organized around main attractions such as the art museum and zoo as well as the greenbelt walkway along the river. A popular spot for folks of all ages, both with tourists and locals.
Johanna Huber
Beautiful fun downtown park adjasion to the zoo.
josh larue
I never seen so much green grass it was amazing. There was no trash to speak of and the landscaping and maintenance was perfect. And to see the ducks with there little babys in the water and out was just to cool.
Tasnim Ara Islam Mou
Julia Davis Park is an 89.4 acre park which was created in 1907 and located along the Boise River. The park contains a Rose Garden, the Boise Zoo, Boise Paddle Boat Rental, a Tennis court, a toddler playground, picnic pavilions and several museums. The friendship bridge connects the park with Boise State University.
This park provides access to the Boise River Greenbelt. The scenic view that the park provides is the main attraction. The rose garden has a pavilion where anyone can arrange an event only by reservation. There is a larger than life size bronze statue of a seated Abraham Lincoln adjacent to Rose garden.
You can enjoy different activities here like paddle boating, fishing, playing tennis, cycling etc. You can have picnic or get together event under the pavilions.
The park has its own parking lot. The restrooms are clean. The park is nicely organized and you can observe different seasonal view in this one park. Many events are arranged throughout the year in the park, i.e. art, music and music festival etc.
If you are in Boise, you must check out this place.
Randall Price
Didn't go to the park except for the zoo. However from my memory it was always a nice park
Rebola
Large beautiful shady park in downtown Boise. I love it! Great for old dog walks on leash with river access. Footbridge to Boise State University and boardwalk access to Discovery Center.
Jesse Lassandro
One of Boises best parks. Our bandshell is here, the park is here, museum, river, all kinds of stuff!
Chris Kincaid
Great park in downtown Boise.
Candyce Reynolds
Beautiful park. Clean with lots of beautiful areas.
Ben Bennett
Boise is full of very nice parks. As The City of Trees, there are make shade trees and very nicely managed grass areas. Much of the park system in downtown Boise was actually donated and named for the donor. Great walking paths are available to get around and go from one park to another. If you come to Boise and are in the direction area, check the park out!
Annette Guidry
Large, peaceful. It has a pretty rose garden, some sitting areas, and the Boise River runs through it. If you bike alongside the river going west, you'll reach another park. Go a few miles east and you'll reach an unpaved area of the greenbelt where you can walk alongside the river. But Julia Davis Park itself has a band shell for live music and nice green areas. It hosts some festivals!
george mclynne
Great park. Right next to Boise Zoo. Has a giant pond/lake, rose gardens, 3 historic old houses, next to Boise River.
diane barone
Beautiful Park water ducks and the Boise Zoo
April Sears
This park has everything you could want for a picnic. Mature trees, lots of space and a rise garden. They even have paddle boats for a fee. Julia Davis is my favorite park in the valley.
Star Shine
I've alwasy liked going to this park.
Dennis Chenoweth
Nice park, easy to find the zoo.
B Bakeries
Wonderful place for families or for quiet contemplation. Breathtaking landscapes. Really enjoyed myself there.
Mike Giggey
Very beautiful park, the only cons are there is starting to be a large homeless population hanging out here. It's sad but the only problem I have is they will ask you for items and really make you feel uncomfortable. A few times I had a guy look around after I gave him some money and he looked like he was about to attack me. But a couple joggers ran by and he took off. Population growth is starting to show in the valley.
Randy Cleverly
Had lunch here after morning in the Discovery Center. Kids had fun. Park is clean.
Douglas Shearer
This park is always a little crowded for my taste, but it's a great location, many points to access it. Great place for a family to have fun on a Saturday afternoon. The best part: Tons of Pokemon Go PokeStops and gyms.
David
Julia Davis a big park with lots of open space , but the key to this park is the fact that there are lots of old growth trees that provide plenty of shade from the hot summer sun, and it sits directly on the Boise River downtown. Very popular at all times a day, though sadly in recent years more homeless seem to be hanging out. The zoo is also located within this park and there's a couple of nice places to play in the back part of the park. They also rent out pedal paddle boats during the season which are a lot of fun for everybody.
Steph
One of my favorite parks, it is large and well maintained with lots of mature trees. There are plenty of places to park, 2hr parking. Great paths for biking, jogging, walking. There is access to the Boise Greenbelt. The park has bathrooms, benches, picnic tables, water fountains, rose garden, sports courts, playground. Lots to do check out Zoo Boise, Discovery Center Of Idaho, Idaho Black History Museum, Boise Art Museum. The Boise River runs beside the park and there is a pond where you can rent paddle boats.
leslie drake
One of the larger Boise River parks , it's also home to the municipal rose garden and the Boise museum of art.
Really lush green park.
Christie Carroll
One of my favorite sections of JDP is the rose garden. What a tender ode to the mighty, proud princess of flowers! Quality over quantity. This garden may be on the smaller side, but it's worth the trips if you enjoy gardens, or if your guests do. The labels help you learn about what you're seeing there. Some of the roses have a light scent; lean in and deeply breathe in some of Nature's finest perfume. Roses are known to lift a down-trodden psyche. They remind me of my mom. Maternal comforts. Besides the rose garden, as others have mentioned, there are other fun places to visit. Luckily, there are lots of trees to shade you during a fair or other public event.
Kent Smith
We are new to the area and decided to check out the zoo. This park surrounds the entrance of the zoo with quite a bit of parking inside the park. It was early spring so the trees are just now blooming again. It is a very peaceful area.
Eric Albert
Very nice park. Plenty of parking and a wonderful venue for having a wedding !!!
Brandon Alexander
Julia Davis Park is a beautiful park. It's huge and located in downtown. The Boise zoo is located inside the park at the entrance of the park there is a art museum and some historical sites
Joshua Pearson
Beautiful park with well established and maintained grounds, ponds, courts, gardens, and picnic areas. We typically stop at this park when we are on the Boise Greenbelt that runs through the park. We enjoy the ponds and geese and nearby Boise river. It is a pleasant place to walk and relax among the busy Boise city.
Brent Bigelow
Large park with plenty of walking trails and views of the river. Parking is easy to navigate once inside the park. Need more directional signage especially designating locations of various points of interest. Also would be nice to see better signage showing entrances to the park
Patrick Wilke
Awesome experience will definitely be going back.
Jennifer Streeter
It was such a beautiful day, and we enjoyed seeing the fuzzy goslings, and the fish in the water. It was so refreshing after spending way too much time indoors for the past year due to the Covid pandemic.
Sonja Williams
Boise has such beautiful parks! And Julia Davis is no exception. It has a wonderful path for walkers and bikers on the Greenbelt and the zoo is right there! The weather is perfect now to get out and get some fresh air, I highly recommed!
Melissa Robin
Such a nice wonderful area to be dedicated as Park the trees are tall and full fortunately sometimes there's a lot of birds and bird poop everywhere but it's nice feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere but yet you're downtown Boise and you can go to the zoo or the museum and matter of seconds!
Brady Callahan
It's a lovely park, the grass definitely takes some abuse from all the events and festivals that use the space, but there are many beautiful large old trees growing throughout the park. Being so centrally located your are surrounded by other family attractions: the main library, the zoo, Anne Frank memorial, art museum, Rose garden, Discovery center, and the Boise river. To name a few.
Rick Zirbel
Was at art in the park over the weekend and it was a perfect late summer day! The rose garden and fountains are always beautiful to walk through and the Abraham Lincoln statue is a tradition for my wife and I to visit.
Gavin Giraud
It's beautiful, right by the river, nice walking path good-sized playground, etc.! But... there is a lot of goose poop in the grass. Don't take a toddler that puts everything in her/his mouth, for example.
Steve Blake
A classic Boise heritage! Along the Boise river with rose garden, amphitheater picnics old trees squirrels deer and plenty of relaxing events. Zoo too. Don't miss this park with a scenic bridge over the Boise River to Ann Morrison Park. Enjoy!
Eliza Connor
This park not only has the most amazing history but also offers so much and for everyone. You can walk through the beautiful rose garden, visit the Art Museum, take your kids to the Zoo, walk, ride your bike, and just enjoy the view of the pond or river.
Laurel Williams
Very clean and accessible. Loved the zoo. Lots of new enclosures for the animals and new animals too.
Christine Marie
Beautiful park in Boise. Always clean and taken care of.
Jim Stewart
Went to the zoo had not been there for a couple of years. Had a great time lots of changes and lots of new animals
John Maulin
Very Nice park with the Historical Museum, Art Museum, and City Zoo. Nice Band Shell for concerts or the occasional musician to play at. There are many, many, geese in the park that in my opinion makes the visit a little less fun. The rose garden and river are both fantastic.
Jen B.
Beautiful green park on the Boise River trail and in town. Magnificent trees, children's climbing apparatus, close walk to good food.
Lacey Lee
Great place to walk with your animals or kids. Scenery is awesome no matter the time of year. If you love taking photos this is the place to go. Plus it's close to the train depot which is another great place to see and take photos at.
Monica Knight - Idaho Realtor
One of Boise's most beautiful parks right in the heart of downtown. The Boise greenbelt and Boise River pass through the edge of the park. The park also has the Boise Zoo, a large pond where you can often see geese and take a paddle boat ride on the pond. The beautiful mature tree line a wide walking path. A favorite stop is the rose garden. It is filled with beautiful roses. 🌹 There is also an art museum in the park. The park hosts many fun annual events like Art in the Park and Summer movie nights.
Elaine Kelley
Beautiful scenery!
They had a tree climbing competition there that was interesting to watch.
Lucian gurley
Fantastic park. Plenty of poke stops if you play pokemon Go. Plus you can drive or walk slowly in a circle and hatch eggs. The zoo is fantastic as well. Open until midnight. However do not park here overnight you will be towed.
Richard Smith
This is Boises oldest and I think best park. Beautifully designed and well maintained. Located adjacent to the Boise River and Boise State University campus. Not just a great place for a picnic, it's also the site of the zoo, a beautiful rose garden, tennis courts, the Boise art museum and the state historical museum. It's a must see for any visitor during any time of the year. Art in the Park is held here in September every year. You won't want to miss this very special event which has something for everyone. Large parking lots on site and free shuttle service from Boise Town Square (the mall) during Art In The Park.
Trent Young
Great park for walking and enjoying the trees. The park is huge and has a little something for everyone. The paddle boats in the spry and summer are a fun treat for kids.
Anna Abbott
Be it for a relaxing afternoon riverside, or playing with the family in the grass, this large expansive park is well maintained and always a good visit when in the area.
Nate
Such a great park with lush green grass, tall shade trees, and a perfect location relative to a host of other Boise attractions such as the zoo, rose garden, art museum, historical museum, black history museum, and the greenbelt, to name a few.
Mike Bryant
Had a blast riding the paddle board with the kids
Thomas Griffiths
Went to Boise Zoo. It's small, but they've been busy with new exhibits and enclosures. Very busy today due to free admission. Small parking lot next to the zoo, but lots of parking in surrounding park areas. Only saw two dining options, one had hamburgers/cheeseburgers, etc while the other had pulled pork sandwiches available .
Susannah Heist
Great place to play Pokemon Go on community day, or walk around with family, visit the muesums and zoo. Even say graduation, birthday, and wedding parties here! JD park also hosts many great events throughout the year; Art in the Park, Goddess Fest and others. Dog friendly!
CHUD OneThirtyEight
Very relaxing park with an excellent greenbelt
Sal Martinez
Julia Davis Park is a wonderful place for fun events, meeting friends, relaxing, the zoo, the art museum, and generally being outside but still choose to the downtown fun. I come here for walks by the river and visiting the zoo, when I can. If you're looking for a laid-back place while still being close to the downtown excitement, walk around Julia Davis Park. You will be surprised how much there is to see.
Katie K
Beautiful park to get out and enjoy the weather and some sports. We went there after enjoying the zoo to just chill and cool down in the shade for a bit. Our world be a great place for a picnic and a game of frisbee.
SWS FamDamily
One of Boise Idaho's beautiful old historic parks. Has tons of trees, green grass, and plenty of people. For those who like the people watch, fun!
Joshua Nugent
This summer our company picnic was once again at Julia Davis park. Usually the grass is eaten to the dirt by tons of geese and in its place is a lot of goose poop. This the grass was nice and lush and poop free. The best I've ever seen it.
Kathy
Always a great time here
Rodney Smith (Photographer)
We loved the old park with the big stately trees. We enjoyed the set of historic photos on pedestals near the zoo entrance. May 4th was too early for the rose garden.
Cynthia Harris
As a growing child here in my native Boise, I carry wonderful memories of the park and all its amenities.
The same applies to JD nowadays, only with a greater amount of good and fun experiences galore... The zoo, BR Greenbelt, the river, the ID Black History Museum... Among other great things here! ♥️
dylan mcginn
We enjoyed our picnic lunch in this park and then played tag with our kiddos. It's a beautiful, clean and spacious park with easy access to the zoo and bike/walking trails that are in the city.
Brenda Coonce
We have to come to boise every couple months for Dr. appointments and Julie Davis Park is inky a couple blocks away so we always stop there for the kids to play.
Michael Snowden
Such a great park!!! The only draw back is the parking. If there are any large, or too many small events it can get rough, but the park is huge with a good amount of trees for shade.
Moin Ahmed
If you're looking a beautiful, calm place in Boise downtown to spent some time (or evening/morning walk) then Julia Davis Park is one of the option for you. I visited the park during my recent visit and I'd definitely like to visit it again if I ever come to Boise in future. Just wondering how the place look like in Winter!!
Rachel Raburn
This park is large and offers many amenities. It is right next to the Boise River, is walking distance from downtown, and is accessible front the greenbelt. There are tennis courts, covered picnic areas, and play structures. Unfortunately the grassy area are littered with so much goose poop, they are really not suitable for walking or playing in. As a pro and a con, the park is also right next to Zoo Boise. Within certain proximities, you can see the giraffes peeking their heads over the zoo perimeter but you can also smell the varying aromas emitted by other animals at the zoo. Julia Davis does make for a nice place to have a picnic during your visit to the zoo provided you can avoid the goose poop.
joslyn mcbride
A exceptionally beautiful park!
Jesus Barragan
It's so nice to have these parks. Keep it up parks and rec department!!!
Delwin Strawbuck
Always a great Park! Boise River Ron's right along side park as well! Been going there since I was a toddler and now I take my kids there also?
Michelle Helgerson (Idaho Realtor)
Julia Davis holds many memories for me. From childhood memories of the Fun Spot to what it has to offer today. Beautiful gardens, Zoo Boise, Museums, festivals, concerts and I could go on. This beautiful park continues to grow and educate our community.
Irene “MacMydree” Ellis
An absolutely beautiful Park!
Steve Barnson, Ph.D
Beautiful Park! Beautiful City !
We walked through the park during our visit to the campus (just across the river). Thought it was the perfect place for a picnic on a sunny day, or a romantic stroll on a cool evening. Just loved it !
Justin Jaggi
Went to the zoo and even though it was a little cold and some of the exhibits were closed we still had a fun time. Still a lot of fun animals to look at.
Hope Lee Seegmiller
I like the rocks along the river to help with erosion and easier access. And it looks nice! Plenty of parking as well.
Ashley Larsen
They have a really fun park that my nieces and nephews enjoy playing at. It's peaceful even if there's a lot of people around it's big enough for everybody can kind of have their own space
Douglas Sanders
This is my favorite park in the Treasure Valley. Easy to get to from the connector and close to the Zoo, Discovery Zone, Library, and BSU campus. We usually picnic near the tennis courts, but there are many great spaces and the greenbelt is fantastic.
Dhruval Shah
Loved it. Nice place for running, jogging and kids play area
Dan Bolingbroke
There is a lot to do and beautiful scenery.
David Odonnell
This is a great place. Lots of beautiful nature . many great places near by such as the art Museum and The Boise zoo . There is a small disc golf there durning the cold months. This is a wonderful place to brong the famoly for a picnic or you can walk the green belt. Good place to meditate especially near the boise river that runs right through the park. There is a rose garden that is a photographer s dream for still life. Wheather you are local or from out of town this is definitely a good spot to visit .
Michael Castle
A huge city park in Boise that has just about everything you would want at a park. Plenty of picnic areas, playgrounds for the kids. A river, lots of ducks and geese. A really nice well kept park.
Jack D (JD)
Has scooters, the rose garden, Zoo Boise, the Boise Art Museum, and the Boise Historical Museum. Good area to walk, ride bikes, and jog. Currently, about half of the people are wearing masks -Jan. 2021.
Dorothy Ferrone
Cute park. Needs more signage. Tried fishing with the kids but not much luck. I think the fish are too acclimated to hand feeding. And the whole place is covered in goose feces. Wear your "trash" shoes if you have any.
Luis Villegas
Fun to take the little ones. Family had a great time. The gift shop has a lot of good toys. The family decide to go back in the summer and enjoy more of the festivities.
N Meier
Great park for events such as art in the park or just a walk through the zoo.
It can be shady which is great in the summer, but cold in the winter months, so bring a jacket fall/winter/spring.
G D Walls
Wonderful walk! Early mornings us old folks get out. You see deer, fox, skunks, chickens, cats, ducks, geese, heron, and lots of nice people. CON: No dogs allowed between March and the Last of June! Yes, i have forgotten when it's first starts each year. Hard to break old habits.
Stephen O'Connor
Serene and beautiful sits near the Boise Rose Garden. Not overly popular, so it is easy to enjoy the piece and quiet. Added bonus of hearing the birds from the zoo across the street.
Jose Avila
Pretty nice spark, which includes the Rose garden and borders the Boise River. It also includes the zoo, which we did not visit.
Charlie L.
Alot of art to see! If you are looking for cheap items go to Walmart. This is art and you will have to pay more for it! Just go and enjoy and if you find something you like buy it!
Jacob Biggs
Love to ride our bikes here! Our youngest actually learned at this park she rode 4+ miles on her 1st day.
maureen mcdade
Beautiful awesome place. Please people get out there and enjoy the
fresh air your really missing out if you don't. 🙂 …
Dawn Burke
What's not to love about Julia Davis Park? Museums. A zoo. Picnic spots. You could spend a whole day here easily. The trolley used to come through here, but not sure if it still does, so check first. I think the Rose Garden is here too and this is where they hold Art in the Park period And across the street is the library! This was one of the first places I came when I moved to Boise 20 years ago and I still visit occasionally. If I was younger I would sure hang out here more.
Chanie Anne
One of our nicer parks with the river, Rose garden, greenbelt/BSU access, and the zoo. Very family friendly but can get congested on the greenbelt so be on the lookout.
Jennifer Thatcher
Love the closeness to so many things like the museum's and zoo. Also love the horse shoes pits. We are considering this park for our next family Reunion and it hit all the matks!
Melody Woodard
Love that they have the Rose Garden the paddle boats and the Gene Harris bandshell and I just recently noticed the green poles with pictures on them. I love all the things to do there. The only thing i dont like is that the playground it seems like it was made only for toddlers no older children.
Jesse Fleming
Great city park weather youre going for a stroll, fishing, running, or just taking in the sights. Lots of covered gazibos for hosting picnics or bbqs and the backside of the zoo is visible depending where you are in the park, you can watch the giraffes have their lunch while you have yours.
Heather Mark
Love Julia Davis park! They keep it really nice!
Andrew Walker
Came here for the YouTube Boise Meetup. The park here is really nice lots of grass and trees. The pavilion is also nice. Pretty good place to meet at if you have 100 or so odd people together. Plus it has the advantage of being near the Zoo, so that's a plus.
Janine MJoi
very pretty park, even in the rain. Ingressing brought us here. Pretty roses, apparently a pond too, but it was raining to hard to stay outside. the museum was closed, and moved apparently. around the corner. All the sign had to say was 'around the corner'. instead of an address. Who knows where anything is in Boise when visiting?
Scott Hensiek
Such a beautiful place in the heart of the Boise greenbelt. Lots of birds and waterfowl to be seen. Oh and the baby goslings are in full abundance!

A beautiful, shady oasis (with public restrooms) a long the greenbelt biking/walking path. Really enjoyed our day wandering around Boise after the amazing farmers market. Go on, get out there and explore!

Great park with surrounding museums to also visit.

Cathy Korton
Went for the memorial of my husband and a plaque posted on a tree for him. Had a great time with family and friends was able to use the shelter and a bathroom really close by so that helps great experience
Ned Bluestone
Most scenic and tranquil of the river parks. Take a lunch, go to the zoo and enjoy the day.
Bruce Lofton
This is one of two downtown parks in Boise, both open to the public (no fee.) Julia Davis is the larger of the two, and hosts larger events for the general public, like the annual FIRE WORKS show on the fourth of July, and the BALOON SHOW. The only drawback for the larger events is parking - plan on a bit of a walk on those days.
Ben Studer
This is just a great park. It has been since I was a kid and just more to do and see now.

Great place you can rent a scooter there from whatever it's called, and make your way around the park zoo Bridges and all the other attractions close by
Dianne Smith
Great park. Lots to do. Museums, the zoo, the river, it has everything
Chris Tucci
Located in the heart of downtown Boise Julia Davis is a great park along the green belt with plenty of space for picnics and familly outings. The collection of museums in the park provide a variety of activities for those looking for a break from the outdoors. The rose garden and zoo in the park move it well beyond the realm of your average city park.
Jeff Hawkins
Right next to the zoo, it's got a bandshell for summer concerts, several nearby museums. But in my opinion, the best part is the Rose Garden, where I married my wife almost 20 years ago.
Mukesh Sundaram
Great place to walk and bum around. Dogs allowed on leash. Adjacent to the zoo and we saw giraffes feeding over the fence.
xonegunx
Love this old classic park. Lots of open space, trees and shade. Could use an updated playground for the little ones, but Ann Morrison is just down the Greenbelt.
Eve McClure
Love the park for walking the Greenbelt....the zoo...the paddle boats..the river..the wildlife ( when the geese are not in attack mode lol)..the majority of courteous people that share the pathways...and the proximity to the MK Nature Center via the Greenbelt🌹Dislike Need to be extra vigilent to lock your vehicles as people tend to steal items from your vehicle if doors are left unlocked, or window vented for air. Also bugs me that people do not pick up after their pets...I love your pet..their pile of steaming poo ( not so much), and their owner is loved but their thoughtlessness for others is not🤔
Sara Newman
We were stuck at the park waiting for our teenager to finish an event he was attending and needed to kill some time. We could see the paddle boats a little ways off and decided to give them a try. It was so much fun! It didn't take much effort to feel like you'd left the heart of the city and had been surrounded by nature. We enjoyed seeing the huge fish, and playing tag with the geese and ducks (don't worry... they know how to get out of the way, assuming you could go fast enough!). It's a great way to sneak in some exercise, too!
Sheldon C
Nice clean park with lots of shade. Well maintained, and close to the zoo. If your lucky you can see the giraffes for free.
Les Cannady

Went to visit the Zoo! Extremely hot and most animals were not in viewing site. Will try again in Sept. The did however have the PetAPaloosa. Enjoyed the Boise K9 unitd and dogs!

Julia Davis is highly underrated. The park is huge and it's easy to find your own space. If your looking for the playground, it's hidden over by the Discovery center, the middle northern edge of the park.
Les Eric Lewis
Rose garden, Boise Zoo and Boise Art Museum....how can you go wrong? Went to the 4th of July Kiwanas pancake breakfast and enjoyed so much! Thanks to Albertsons for food donation for a great cause. Wonderful orchestra music too!

Absolutely gorgeous area
Matt Prien
It's a fun park at the center of many city muesuems and attractions. The Boise African American museum is near as well as the new Idaho History Musuem, Boise Art Museum, and the zoo. There are paddle board and tennis courts as well as trails to walk. Plenty of ducks to feed and they have an amphitheater that's pretty big. We love to have family picnics or get togethers. Plenty of room for tennis and my wife loves the rose garden. It is beatiful in the spring.
Laurence Sullivan
Beautiful park! Many trees in bloom!
P McDonough
Went to volunteer for the hempfest. Beautiful park

Sage Ibanez
Nice park with great views of the Boise rover if you are walking the path close to it. It's also a pokemon go hot spot with tons of spinners and gyms.
Taba Korumi
Probably one of the best parks in the city. Lots of places to walk but fairly weak in the play area department. More of a teenager/adult place than one for young children.
Golam Mortuza
One of the best park in boise

Very peaceful and tranquil setting at the Boise Rose Garden.

Lollipop Swamp
Came here for my anniversary with my girlfriend. We had a nice time and found a small peninsula by the water. There was a goose who was very aggressive towards to all the other geese coming onto the peninsula, but he didn't mind us at all. We saw some wood ducks here as well, which he didn't mind either. We named him Ryan Goose. I proposed to my girlfriend that day under the protection of Ryan Goose. Thanks Ryan.
Sara Pickett
Had a night there with our preschool. So much fun!

The only issue with this beautiful park is parking during events. You'll often need to park over a mile away from the event
