Played front 9 of the disc golf course, beautiful, fun, open course. It was my wife and 3 kids' first time playing, and we all had a great time together. Awesome family outing, the kids are asking when we can go back, already!

Very nice and well maintained course. Course is mostly open, but makes good use of the surrounding trees, creek, and hills so that many shots are still technical. There is usually a group of local pros that hangout and sell discs in front of hole 1. Although not as challenging/grueling as some of the other courses in the area this is one of the most fun to play. Specifics: Holes: 18+ Tee Pads/Hole: 1-2 Baskets: 2 per hole and both are set up at once. Navigation: Easy Tee Signs: Great Terrain: Lightly Wooded

The course is fun and challenging but the park needs better matinence. There are no lights to be found after sunset that actually work. Confusing to navigate.

George Ward Park is nice, but if you are pushing a stroller there is not a path to get from one side of the park to the other which can be frustrating. In the summer they let the grass get a little long before cutting it.

Great park course with a pro there most days. We think it is the jewel of the city. Open, long shots mixed with some technical mixed terrain and wooded shots. Parking is between the front 9 and back 9, so a quick 9 is very doable If you don't have time for all 24. (Secret 6 is on the back 9)

If you're looking for a park to kick back in and completely relax, this is the place. A walking trail has been added which is out of the way of disc golf. The disc golfers are considerate of walkers too. The dog park allows owners and dogs to romp leash free.

It's convenient which is why I play here. It's short, kind of hard to find, and the signage is bad. Can be hard to make birdies, too easy to make pars, and too hard to make bogeys. Even a bad first shot is easy to par which sucks when you are competitive because you are infrequently rewarded for a solid drive. The guys that sit in the parking lot are super nice and make you feel better since no one is gonna break into your car with these guys sitting there.

George Ward is a wonderful city park with nice features. There is a stream running through the back nine. There are paved paths through most of the holes. It is a great course for anyone looking to get into disc golf. Not too difficult, but challenging and fun. If you need buy discs or anything, Tom is usually there to help with supplies and advice.

A challenging and technical course in a bucolic setting with woods, water and elevation changes. Had me out of breath for a flat-lander. I got lucky and ran into the local league president who gave me the chef’s tour and a lesson after losing by one stroke. He had home field advantage. I’ll get him next time.

I played in a lot of ballparks over my lifetime. I have never seen a crew get to work and repair films that were normally be deemed rained out. The group that runs this place took the tournament that we had a serious as we do. We were supposed to start tournament play at 7 a.m. and instead it got delayed until noon because of how much rain was on the fields. By the time we stepped on them to play the fields were like brand new

Very shabby dog park that is maintained extremely sporadically if at all. I had rescued a Husky and that's where I met the family to give her, her furever home. Just happened to be the dog park that was about equidistant for both. Very nice family that wound up with the Husky we rescued

Really nice park, close to Homewood,Al. It was well maintained and I noted a police presence as night fell. I wish there were electricity ar the large pavillion, but otherwise it is great place for family gatherings and kids playground.

There is a nice size dog play area. The kids play areas are small and to far from the dog park. I have both kids and a hmdog and I have to choose between bringing the dog so he can run around or letting my kids play on the playground.

Excellent beginner disc golf park. There are 18 numbered holes with 6 lettered additional holes that go through the woods. The park is usually pretty well maintained.

The grounds keepers are always hard at work here. Very nicely manicured. Shady and beautiful and huge. Great place for a walk or jog.

Need to cut the grass and take better care of there fields. Grounds crew and clean up people were very nice.

I just wish it wasn't so dirty. There are 2 other fenced in areas, but apparently the fences have been damaged from flooding and never repaired. Its always muddy after any rain and make sure to bring your pups water with you! There is no spigot.

I suppose a lot of people go to George Ward Park to play softball or baseball or kickball or something like that. There are also a lot of people who go to George Ward Park for business reasons... For example selling drugs or guns or just asking for money. I found out today that when the parking lot pavement comes in contact with spinning tires it produces a lot of smoke. I wasn't the one smoking the tires, I just saw it happen. I have never been to George Ward Park at night and really don't plan on changing that in the near future.

I went to watch softball games here. The park seems really nice and upkept. The bleachers are roomy, and the fields are nice. The park is very clean.

I've been playing disc golf here for 20 yrs, it's well maintained and you'll always run into a friendly face or dog. Btw, it's also a dog park!

George Ward is a good park but the softball field director is a unfair person, he called the police on a man for a motorcycle on some dirt that wasn't a field or close to it.bad vibes.its easier to get a understanding and patience to deal with people if you are in public environment

Nice! the National speech and debate tournament will be held in Birmigham in June. A bunch of us Idaho folks will play there after elimination. We did this last year in SLC
