EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE!!! This is the largest REI in the southeast, and it is clear why! The staff is extremely knowledgeable. Everyone is helpful. Most people don’t know that REI is a Co-Op. That means that REI is owned by its members. You only have to become a member once in your whole life, IT NEVER EXPIRES! They exist to create member value, not earn profits. Which means they offer free in-store classes, and close on Black Friday—just to get people outside. They’re also one of the last true values-driven companies. They have aspirational values that are worth participating in! The footwear department is top notch. If you think you know your foot, you’re wrong. Stop back and experience how it is supposed to be done. The camping department is incredible as well. How many places still have a genuine map table?! The staff actually hikes, and they know their gear. Get a pack fit done, you are likely not the size you think you are.

The bike department is great here, they are very helpful, thorough, and friendly. They are affordable and much more reasonable compared to other bike shops in Atlanta (much of whom seem to want to rip you off). They are also always willing to work with you to accommodate to your needs. Would highly recommend coming here for everyday bike needs.

I usually look for more locally owned shops to repair and maintain my bike but this crew is among the most accommodating and friendly I have dealt with. THEIR MASK REQUIREMENTS ARE RIDICULOUS AND I REFUSE TO PARTICIPATE IN SUCH CRAZINESS. That has nothing to do with the bike team, I just am so tired of all this nonsense I had to force it in there. 10/10 experience. Ren was absolutely amazing. So helpful and nonjudgmental as he fitted my husband and me for hiking packs. We’re both overweight but were never made to feel uncomfortable. Truly zero judgment. Such a high quality experience. Will forever go to this specific REI because of Ren’s kindness. The rest of the staff was awesome too, but Ren definitely deserves high praise!

Trisha in the shoe area went above and beyond for me to make sure I left the store today with the perfect boots. I can’t thank her enough for taking so much for me and answering all my questions/ always having a solution for any issues that came out. She is absolutely wonderful!

Great atmosphere inside with an amazing selection of all you’re outdoor necessities. The two long haired blond guys with glasses at the cash registers were super cool too and we’re really welcoming as well as they hold the stores values close to themselves. Overall, coming in to REI today was a wonderful experience and I can’t wait to come back.

I've been to this location several times and the staff is always helpful. I was trying to find hiking shoes, and it took me around 2 hours to find shoes that worked. The staff were so patient, kind, and helpful throughout this process. I will continue to return to this REI location for my future needs.

usually one of my favorite stores. while they were plenty of staff in the store they only had two people running the front register with 12 deep in line which was moving very slow. when one of the staff members radio for assistance nobody showed for the entire time I waited in line which was 15 minutes. Otherwise the store was not very busy.

Variety of sizes, high quality frames, add-on gear, accessories galore, alternate wheel treads, you name it. Find a bike in the showroom’s wide selection to test ride or buy online and have REI build it for you in-store.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. They'll warmly welcome you and be at your disposal, ensuring you get all the help you need with your purchases. We were at the store last evening past near to their closing time and lost track of time while checking out their amazing inventory but not once did they complain that they're past their closing time but rather helped us with all our questions and gave us undivided attention.

As always, REI meets expectations. If you find yourself actively hunting gear for your newfound hiking hobby, or a new bike to tackle some road cycling, or a modern tent that takes mere minutes to pop up, then you've found your destination. This facility near the 85 corridor is on the large size with ample stock of products on hand, unlike the bizarre mini store at the Perimeter. Excellent staff. Always a pleasure. Thanks REI.

I went to REI today to simply get a patch for a rip in my jacket. As soon as I walked in I was asked if I needed help. I was quickly directed to the location of the product and was also informed about a couple details about the product I was purchasing and what would be best for my type of jacket. It's hard not to have fun in this store and it's very well laid out. However, I took one star off because the shoe department staff we interacted with seemed not to care much about help with sizing. I think they missed the mark here given how different sizing can be for various brands. He went so far as to tell us that he'd bring the size up I requested AFTER we tried the one he brought out.

I got to give Harrison a big thumbs up. I just recently got back into running after a foot injury that I am positive was caused by poorly fitted shoes. Harrison did not hesitate to size and fit me. He also explained the size differences between brands and asked me what I preferred when it came to features of running shoes. He stepped back into their storage room and came out with three pairs for me to try on. The Altra Lone Peak 5s seem to immediately solve the tightness that I could not tolerate on my previous running shoes. Usually I do some research on items that take abuse in the field but I trust Harrison's knowledge and will be giving them a good run tomorrow. Harrison's character and customer service went above all expectations. Thanks a ton Harrison.

Fun store to shop around. With minimal exceptions their staff is super friendly and helpful. If they had a fresh food bar I think I would spend an entire day there ;) There’s SO many interesting things for your next outdoor adventure. I like that if you have a membership, you can earn dividends. REI is also a top rated employer.

Very great selection. Super helpful staff. They have an outfitting service where they basically assign someone to help you find everything you need for ant particular activity you have planned. Mine was a hike with wide weather ranges predicted. It's a free service and very helpful. Their returns and exchanges policy is also very generous and makes me feel very confident in my purchases. On the rare occasion when something didn't work out, they have always made returns and exchanges easy.

REI had a bike tire that was a close match to what I needed and open at 6pm on a Sunday during COvID. Can't ask for much more than that. Even though I had to return the first tire because the of incorrect information from an associate ( not bike shop pro but someone who was just trying to help ). Always a good place to go for outdoor supplies. Usually good bike gear, climbing stuff, and camping equipment that is above the selection and quality of your big box retailer and some stuff that is not going to break the bank.

This is a great store in a strange location, but easily accessible. It does not have the look on the outside so you could miss it and all the great deals inside this very large store. You don't want to miss it due to the reroute. This was my first time at this location and I found everyone helpful as I reconsidered hiking boots purchased from the REI outlet store. After much help trying on more types of boots, I left with my outlet boots feeling more comfortable with the choice. Roaming around the store I purchased socks, sleeping bag liners, collapsible water bottle, pants... I was everywhere with the friendly and knowledgeable assistance of their associates. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town. Thanks for great service!

Though it can be quite pricey, I love REI and their unbeatable return policy. The staff is always helpful but at this location I have found that I needed to actively seek someone out if I had a question. Usually a good selection at this store as it is larger then others around. I could spend hours browsing.. and I could spend thousands on gear :)

Good customer service and very nice selection. However, this is a very low profile location for this brand. Unless you where really into camping gear and REI you could literally drive down one of the busiest interstates in the USA and never know it was there.. .. Excuse me but I don't care how cheap the rent it is in this day and age if dying brick and mortar which MBA is responsible for This site selection seriously. In a market that can get away with high mark ups and a loyal fan base why such a dismal store.

I’ve been shopping here for years and they always have good service and a courteous and helpful staff. I especially appreciate their bicycle shop. Their prices are fare and they are up front with you about what they can and can’t reasonably do. Their prices are not always the cheapest but I support them because they’re a treasure to have in the area.

This is a great REI. They've got the space so they provide a wide selection. The staff here loves what they do and is always so knowledgeable. There is definitely more of a camping/hiking focus here than say maybe bikes or other large equipment sport. Always something on sale here too so be careful or you'll leave with something you had no idea you, "needed." Parking isn't great but there is plenty.

This is my favorite REI in Atlanta. I bought my bike here last year and they made sure I was properly fitted and had everything I needed before I left. I also stopped by this week for the Labor Day sale and had great service finding the right size for a rain jacket. And finally, I've had to make some returns and exchanges for online orders and everyone is always friendly and helpful. I also like that unlike other REI locations this parking lot isn't shared with other businesses which means I can always find a spot.

This location is one of the largest around. They now have garage sales going all the time! Staff is always helpful and knowledgeable. I really love going to get gear and leaving with gear advice or learning somet new from the associates. Good mask protocals and a limit on occupancy. A greater/counter was monitoring the entrance and that masks were warn. Hand sanitizer was available at the front door. Also my dog got to go shopping with me!

What I like most about this REI location is it's excellent customer service. The REI representatives are knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant. Ordering on line with delivery to home or the store is convenient, easy, and fast. If something doesn't work out, I can return it directly to the store or ship it back. As an REI member, all my purchase information is in the system, so returns/exchanges are simple. Of course, the selection and quality of merchandise is fabulous. Any situations with a purchase? REI handles them quickly and to satisfaction. No complaints here, only stellar experiences in years of a a relationship with REI.

I went in expecting the same type of customer experience like you get in most places. So I was more negative than positive going in. Reason being I'm a novice wanting to do the AT, I needed a lot of attention, information, guidance and patience. Every sales representative I encountered delivered in spades. They were cheerful, personable, professional, knowledgeable and the willing to help. I left the store after being there for four hours in a great mood from a absolutely positive experience. I arrived home here in Augusta a couple hours later and the phone rang. I was surprised that it was REI confirming that the items not in stock that were ordered had been verified and would arrive on time. I want to thank Maurine for that she was very pleasant and is just another example of trying to please and go beyond. The people I dealt with were Fini, Erin, Fred and Mark. My thanks to each of you. What a great group of people!

Staff are helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. Excellent products. Travel requires packing light and compact, REI has the clothing and equipment I'm looking for. Customers are share holders, receiving dividends on their purchases at the end of the year, ask about membership.

Never been to an rei. First thoughts about the store was that I felt right at home. Very comfortable setting with approachable staff. Came into the store looking for boots to hike in. Had no idea what I was looking for but a lovely lady let me know the questions I should be asking and had all the answers to the questions. Never pushed for me to buy the most expensive boot but instead have pointers and tips on what I need to look for. TLDR never been to REI, found the perfect boot, became member.

Best Quality Sporting Gear Available! Make sure you sign up to become a member here too. It only costs $20 for one year, and will credit you back a total of 10% all together accumulated from all of your purchases from the previous year every April. It's a great value! It's hard to beat that! I bought my bike from here about three months ago, and it was definitely worth every penny spent on it. This bike has held up very well. I haven't gotten a flat tire yet, and it goes very fast. I'm happy with it!

We received some of the best and most attentive customer service from the older gentleman in the bike department. My husband and I stopped by after a date night to have a quick look at your safari hats. First time taking my bike to a bike shop I decided to go to REI ATL for a SRAM GX derailleur and shifter upgrade and it was a great experience! I bought the parts and they did the rest. I dropped my bike on a Wednesday and it was ready the next day. Sweeeet and the best part just $45(member price). Thumbs up to the TECHS and REI.

The customer service at this REI (and many other REIs as well) is exceptional. I chose a pair of shoes I believed to be on sale, but found out they were in the wrong place and were original price (a different color was on sale). Because of the confusion, the employee spoke with her manager and they honored the sale price anyways. It was a quick and simple process that left me feeling like REI values the customer over the profit. It's not easy to say that about many companies these days.

I've been frequenting this REI for the past 9 years. I remember the first time I walked into the store and had no idea what I would need to hike some of the Appalachian Trail. The staff was knowledgeable and spent at least an hour getting me prepped for the AT. The 40+ mile trek I took went well and I have been sold on them ever since. Hundreds of miles later, I still use some of the same gear I bought from REI 9 years ago. I just went back on Saturday to get ready for my next big hike this upcoming year, the Benton MacKaye Trail.

I always have incredible service at this spot. If they don’t have something in stock, they help you order it online in the store to have it shipped to you. Had multiple employees help with different products and they are always so kind. Shopped on Memorial Day so it was packed! Luckily we found parking, but many folks had to circle the lot to find a spot. Great REI spot.

REI is always good, but the Atlanta store is ALWAYS awesome!! I knew what I needed, but wasn't sure how /what I needed to achieve it. The staff member (the gentleman in the bike section) was a such a godsend!!! He walked me thru all of the possible bike racks, showed me how to use them, and talked me thru installation. THIS GUY IS WHAT GOOD SERVICE IS ALL ABOUT 🥰 -- which is so rare nowadays. Although my car didn't support what I wanted, I now know where to go when I'm ready to get a good, affordable, durable bike rack.

Good place for camping but it's a little expensive. You'll be able to find quality and interesting gadgets for the outdoors but nothing you've never seen before. The workers, while helpful, will watch and follow you even if you are pure in interest. I suggest trying a local outfitter before this money machine, they're far kinder and often have exactly what you're looking for

Really helpful staff at the shoe section. Helped with water shoes/sandals for my tween who is borderline kid's size and women's size. Didn't have the color sandal she wanted in her size, but called another REI nearby and put her size and color on hold there for us.

Love this place. Usually at other outdoors retailers you get flim flams that try to oversell you on things you don't need, but not here. My salesperson, I think her name was Kate or something, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and sharp as a tack. Definitely a great experience!

Excellent bicycle mechanic support. They have saved my bikes numerous times. I always enjoy seeing what they're working on. There are usually really nice bikes from various racers and riders that are fun to see. Mostly, I get parts here. The parts in stock are often sufficient to get me rolling but if I need special order stuff it comes in quickly. Of course, REI has a wide selection of clothing, camping, kayak, climbing and other gear but I focus on the cycling first. Just got my annual dividend. Waiting for the weekend to take advantage of a coupon and dividend. Woo hoo!

I really love REI and their sales! Many times they have sales that are over 50% off and it's not a few small inexpensive things, but North Face Jackets, tents, and boots! They have an amazing rewards program that gives you more discounts & gift certificates. And there are frequently events at the store that are fun to attend. The only draw back is that its on the 85 access road so if you drive by it, you have to make a big circle to come back to it. There's usually plenty of parking though so that makes up for it!

If you are in to outdoors, and want gear, REI is a no brainer. Men's, women's, and kiddos wear are all covered. And if you like outdoor gear, you know that price points are all over the map. Arc'teryx, North Face, Patagonia. They also carry their own brand in a number of things (shirts, pants, shorts, etc), which is usually on the less costly side of the equation, although, sometimes you don't get the same fit or features. They have a decent selection of bikes, and the bike shop has always been consistent on the good work they do, although, they have so much business, it can take a bit of time on occasion to get your ride back. My biggest qualm of the place is that when my kiddo tries to ride one of the kids bikes in the store, they are mercilessly told to stop immediately and make you feel as though you committed a mortal sin. Ok, so maybe it's not quite right on my part, but it feels like a 5 yo can't do that much harm testing a bike in an aisle. :) All in all, a great place. If you play your cards right, you can find amazing deals on the sale racks, and during the spring/fall when members (Pay the $20 or so bucks to become a coop member...you get a check for 10% of all you spent that year on full price items...so worth it) get 20% off coupons (that's when you buy the aforementioned Arc'teryx).

Seems a bit silly that I am going to review REI in that we all know what kind of store it is (or should), but here goes. I love coming here to browse and being someone whose favorite outdoor activity is camping, this place is a great one stop shop. For some reason, I have awful luck with not losing, leaving or misplacing my Nalgene water bottles! This probably means I should stop buying them because they are cursed, but who believes in that? I'm just forgetful and lose my water bottles like a scatter brain. :/ This particular REI is down a road that splits off to 75 so be careful not to accidentally get on the interstate when traveling down the road towards it. Parking is rather confusing, tight and there is even a guard? From the guard sitting in the lot and the signs that say to not leave valuables in your car, you better heed the warning and not leave any item that could be deemed valuable in sight! The employees here are extremely polite and will gladly help you find what you're looking for when asked. They're a pleasure!

I don't live in the US, but my boyfriend was traveling for work last month, so I had some hiking boots shipped to his Atlanta hotel. Unfortunately, there was problem at the front dest and they refused the delivery twice. During this time I was corresponding with Kyle from customer service and he was very helpful. After the second delivery refusal I called the store to see what my options were and talked with Meghan, as Kyle was out of the office. She was helpful, kind and went above and beyond to help resolve the issue. Due to time restrictions my order couldn't be redelivered. Meghan explained the situation to her manager, who then ended up hand delivering my boots to the hotel on her way home. I have never been so delighted and impressed with customer service in my life!

My husband and I just visited this store looking for work boots. Devin in the shoe department was very helpful and pleasant. He helped my husband choose the right boot for him! When we got to the checkout counter, Sarah T. was very polite and patient with me as I didn't understand the membership offer. At first I agreed and began filling out the registration. I then decided against it and she asked her associate Bill what she should do with the registration. As I had already written in his name and address, I began to cross it out and shade thru the writing so it could not be read. (Hey, my actions are based off the world that we live in....identity theft,etc) Bill told Sarah that Void just needed to be written on it for the bank. I wrote the VOID on it myself, on both sides. He then said to me, "That's all that needs to be done, we'll take care of it!" as if me writing it on both sides was a crime! I said "It's ok" and he replied, "It's know it is!". I told him that he didn't have to be rude and he said, "I'm just telling you that's enough" Obviously Sarah could tell that this was not going in the right direction as she said stepped in to diffuse the situation and said, "Chill out Bill" under her breath. At that point, I told my husband to hurry up and pay so that we could leave. I would have given my experience a 5 star rating had it not been for Bill stepping in to give his two cents. We won't be back! Even if my husband wanted to, I wouldn't let him. Not a fan of disrespect.
