Nice apot, lots of space for both tents and rv campers. Showers need a little upgrade, but has lots of warm water. Staffs are very friendly.

If you come here after hours, they only accept online payments. The restrooms are only code accessible, so if you want to take a shower or use the bathroom, I suggest getting to the campground during business hours to get the access code. They do have spaces with outlets, up to 41 is RV only, 42-64 are for campers that only have tents. Nice and quiet, they have a playground located in the middle of the campground for your young ones to play at during the day. $25 per day without electricity spaces and $35 for electrical spaces. They do reserve for group campers.

Clean and well kept. Active security watches everything. A few bear sightings which I think is cool. I wish they had on site water at the rv sites because the potable water station is really slow.
Sharp Life
Very campsite yet on travel. Trees and a playground for the kids. Wifi actually works well unlike many places that offered wifi and it never worked. Important for people travelling and working needing wifi. Campfires allowed. Has pamphlets of things to do in the area in the hut. Staff were nice and let the kids use the staff bathroom. Showers warm. One bathroom showers are down but they will be fixed we are told. Clean.

Very woodsy and nice. Tis a bit noisy with
Highway noise. But the price is right and Tristan was very helpful.

Guantanamo is missing a mall cop. 5 stars easily if they lose deputy Dan. This guy is a real Karen. Watch out! He's a bully with too much time on his hands.
Hot showers, no cash, little traffic noise.
Ken is a delight however! Thanks Ken, for looking out for bunny the dog and me. We miss you when your not working.
However, Ken is an absolute delight! He's very helpful and made sure to check on bunny the dog and me. We are avid campers but knowing someone it's nice to have the security of someone looking out for me as a single woman.

Have stayed at this campground four separate times this summer (2017) for about 8 nights. Found the campground staff to be friendly and very helpful. We have an RV. The sites are well spaced, with trees separating them. Sites are gravel surrounded by grass and trees. There is a picnic table and fire ring at each site. The sites are clean and the campground is well kept up. There is a nice playground area if you have children. They also have a separate tent area. I think it is a very nice campground and would be happy to stay here again. Unlike private campgrounds, you are not elbow to cheek with your neighbors The campground has a 24 hour host on duty and also has security at night. There are bathrooms with showers if you need them. These are worn, but kept clean.

Very clean and organized. It has a self pay station if you get there late at night and in the morning you get a receipt along with a nice greeting from a nice staff person. Free showers with stay. They have nice bathrooms. The campground feels very safe while the patrolman(who’s there all night long)makes you feel even safer. Camping tables and fire pits. I liked it a lot! I would recommend this place to anyone. A lot of RVs and tents!

My girlfriend and I stayed here during the 4 day weekend. It was a very amazing experience. The spaces are nicely sized, hot showers, toilets, and minimal noise. The highway is there but if you get the back you can barely hear it or just chalk it up to running water like a waterfall or river. The homeless population everyone's talking about...no longer there. They spent a lot of money to move the homeless camp and even do hourly patrols to make sure everything is okay. The staff was very friendly, professional and easy going. Had a great experience here.

The campground itself was nice. Lots of big trees and large sites. The bathrooms need a facelift and the camp hosts need to do a better job of enforcing quiet hours with rowdy, known locals. Only one bathroom house was open, with only three run down showers. No water hook ups at the sites. Friendly staff. Just a few tweaks and this would be a lovely park!

Nice green wooded sites just minutes from downtown. I stayed here years before and they had problems with homeless people, but under new management and increased security, that is not a big issue anymore. The shower houses need to be updated, but that is in the works. Water is still always hot, and have never taken cold shower yet. The sites have lots of space with some trees between them, so you are not looking at the camper 3 feet away from you next door. I've seen black bear here several nights, so make sure don't leave your trash or food unattended. 10 minutes from downtown, so you can't beat that. The staff are friendly and always wanting to help.

Campground is nice with lots of trees and decent space at each site. Hot showers and clean toilets, especially for a municipal park. The staff is friendly and seems to be working hard to provide a good experience, especially O.T. The biggest downside is the occasional squatter at night, but there is a nightly patrol to help mitigate that. Was told about possible bear activities, but after 3 days have not seen any.

We stayed for about 10 days and loved it. It's on town so it's not far to get groceries or whatever. There are so many restaurants and shops within 1-2 miles but when your at your campsite, surrounded by trees and beauty and green, it's easy to forget you are at the end of town. the staff were friendly and helpful. the campground is always clean.

We arrived in Anchorage at the start of the 4th of July weekend. Although no sites with hook ups were available, we were able to get a place to park. Park is next to highway, but surprisingly quiet. It is wooded, and well maintained. There are (3) restroom buildings with showers. Bathrooms are rustic, but showers are warm and lengthy, and FREE. Fires are allowed, but no wood for sale at the park. Hookups are electric and water, with a dumpstation on site. Very particular about bear safety. Our site had some kind of oil near the pad, and trash left in the fire ring, and they were prompt at cleaning it up. Basic sites are $25, with electric and water $35. We are moving to a powered site for two additional nights.
Staff is friendly and welcoming.

Almost avoided this campground because of prior reviews. We decided to check it out on our way into Anchorage and was lucky enough to snag an electric site for 4 days. Our site was nestled among the trees and afforded us lots of privacy and space unlike the parks in town. During that time the campground was quiet (some muffled road noise) and did not encounter any unsavory characters as stated in other reviews. The park personnel were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to be of assistance. We did not use the bathrooms or showers while we were there so I cannot comment on their cleanliness or what was available. They were also doing some major repairs on one of the bathrooms while we were there. Dump and potable water were available.

I am very impressed of the solitude, safe, and clean campsite. We used the campground twice this summer. I experienced alaskans adventure here in each visits. We take long walks, pretty pictures, and watch squirrels gathered pine nuts and acorns. In the morning, the sunrise is perfect on top of the hill. Then a mama bear are her cubs were hanging out. There are berries to enjoy.
There are staff and security guards on site. The fees are affordable and free wifi. It is convenient to make reservation online. Gas stations and stores are nearby. I recommend this campground for families and one who needs a time off of the city life.

Extremely reasonable rates for a city campground. Great level sites friendly staff, and nighttime security. We have stayed here in the past and have always been pleased to have a nice place to camp instead of paying an exorbitant amount for Alaska hotels. Thank you to the parks and recreation for taking such good care of the facilities.

We stayed five nights while visiting Anchorage. The location is great for access to the City. We stayed in an RV and a tent. Yes, there is some highway noise but it did not bother us. The sites are decent size with trees, picnic table, fire pit. The bathrooms are old but clean, hot showers. They were cleaned every morning while we were here. We noticed no issues with homeless persons that some older reviews mention. There are frequent patrols through the park to be sure all is in order. We had a moose and her two calves spending the night about 50 yards from our site. In the morning they laid around for awhile for pictures and eventually got up and wandered back into the forest. We also had some black bears trying to break into the dumpster (unsuccessfully) not far from our site. We also noticed a bear or two wandering through the park. When they see bears, staff hop in their UV and chase them away. WIFi was not working while we were here, but cell coverage was good and we also got good TV reception, about 20 channels. Staff were friendly and helpful. They don't ding you with extra fees for the dump station and hot showers. We would definitely stay here again if we get back to Anchorage.

This was a great little camp ground. The spaces were really big and clean. The reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 stars was because of the bathrooms, I know they've worked really hard on making this campground nice and "riff raff" free (and it's definitely working) but hopefully their next step is the bathrooms. Saying that the showers did feel great!
Nicolas PC
simple campground but nice and wild, access by a path to the metro (long enough) to access dowtown washington direct

Good location, close to city centre, where sites are located in nice forest with unavoidable noise from freeway and jets.
But campground amenities bring the "frontier" description in mind.
Toilet stalls have no latches, showers have no towel/cloth hangers, while the electric timers don't show when you will have to walk across naked to reset the timer again.
The power outlets located 6" above the faucet have no indication of GFCI protection, while they are mounted in "dry location" electrical boxes. There was no power in them, so maybe that is the solution somebody figure out?
1 dump station for almost 100 sites? ??
There is no posted refund policy and manager shows here for 20 minutes daily.
Not too many choices around, so probably one of the best in the area, but you have to bring your standards to real frontiers.

Best RV campground that we've found in Anchorage. Other options were very cramp, parking lot facilities. Centennial has large individual spaces that have a lot of room and trees between sites, and it is located in a forest area just east of Hwy 1. Proximity to Anchorage is convenient but you are not really "in town". It's on the northern edge of Anchorage. Yes, the main complaint of itinerant persons using the bathroom facilities is true, but it didn't seem nearly as problematic as some reviewers describe. We witnessed some of this activity but it seemed minimal to us. The staff is very helpful and friendly and shoos people out that don't belong there if they see them. If you need to be in or near Anchorage, I still consider this to be your best option. We have stayed there twice in our 36' 5th wheel. PS - it is likely that you will see black bears meandering through the park at some point during your stay. Park rangers shoo them out with whistles & shouting. (Actually, it was fun to watch.) I bought a whistle myself for dog walks. It worked - but that's another story.

The staff are friendly, courteous, knowledgeable about popular local and state attractions and activities.
The facilities are clean, well kept, and patrolled by both Anchorage Police as well as Private security for your safety.
There are 3 types of camping spaces available, and RV only with Full Electric Hookups,
Non electric sites for tents or RV's, and large Group camping areas. Each space has a well levelled gravle parking space and the RV parking sites can accommodate just about any size RV.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and we can assure you that you will too!

We stayed here four nights. Centenial RV Park is very convent to Anchorage. Stores, groceries, resturants nearby. The nearby Paris Bakery is awesome!
The sites are level and nicely wooded. Staff are friendly and helpful. WiFi is fast and reliable for an RV park. Electrical service is modern. No water, sewer, or cable at our site, but free dump station in park.
Items needing improvement:
1. Bathrooms/showers need major upgrade. Staff keep them clean, but they are old and lack privacy.
2. Background road noise from the Glenn Hyw constant. It faded to white noise in our RV. Sleeping not a problem, but don't expect 'wilderness' quiet. The park provides 24hr security so we had no complaints about noisy neighbors or transients.
3. Bear proof dumpsters are provide. Unfortunately, our neighbor left garbage bag under trailer and black bear paid a visit. More signs and education needed on proper garbage handling and 'bear etiquette'.
With above improvements, I would rate Centennial *****

I like this place! I stay here every year on an annual fishing trek. High priced in the summer time for camping especially with no showers and laundromat but the higher cost helps keep the loudmouth party bums out. Its run by the city of Soldotna and the city employees do a good job. River access for everyone even nice handicap accessible spots. Several fish cleaning stations right at the river. They need to get coin operated showers and a basic camp store for basic supplies but they might get there some year.
Angela Idzinski
They are very strict but they have wifi and electricity for 35$💸 a night w/o 25$💸 a night theres 🚿 that have super 🚿🚽🗝 water but you gotta have a code that they change weekly i believe 🏕🏞🌌there is 🦊🦉🦅🦆🦌🦋🐦🐕🐩🐿🕷🐈🐻🐇🐀🐜🐝🐛🐞 BEARS! So, keep all your food put away or they will come! Other then that its cash💸 at night time⛺🏪 and c💳ard during the day. They are super strict with quiet time and gotta have the name of the visitors and vehicle description. Safeish place.
Marsha Ambacher
Convenient location, friendly staff, electric hook-ups available. Bathroom/showers are very run down and in need of serious maintenance and cleaning.
Randy Gaugler
Very nice campground. Can't rate the restrooms since we don't use them. Staff was very friendly. Have some 50 amp electric with dump station and water available.
James Bray
Previous comments about a homeless problem do not seem to be an issue any more. Nice, relatively quiet location close to Anchorage. Had a momma bear and 3 cubs wandering around, but warning signs were evident. Would stay here again!
Beau Dollah
It's a nice camp ground. One of the bathrooms were closed the whole time and the other was kinda far away which made it a little inconvenient. There was also a few bees and animal droppings in the area but that's just camping I guess
JoAnn Adams
Showers could use an update, but had plenty of hot water. Very woodsy for a city Campground. We shared the Campground with a moose & Calf!
Jeremy Smith
Things didnt go as planned for the 4th of July but at least we found a campground close to town and got to get out and camp for a night. Thank you, this si a nice place. Only downfall is being right next to the highway, didn't really feel like camping when you are used to getting out in the woods.
Allan Pickett
3 day stay max. Not sure of the prices, they must be very reasonable since this place is packed. Updated a few years ago and now has RV sites with power and internet. Owned and run by the municipality of Anchorage parks department. You see bears, some homeless and maybe a few other things. They have a camp host to help keep things under control.
Oma Gilbreth
This place is great!!! The front desk people were phenomenal!!! The security guy ronight deserves a raise!!! He drove through every 10 minutes and a crazy woman ran by our space between his visits and he stayed with us to make sure she didn't return and was extremely cordial!!!

Quite a nice environment. We are in a camp location with our 37 foot 5th wheel RV. Chose a 50amp power, no sewer or water site. Ample room and good location.

We like this in-town camp ground where you can be close to nature and close to town. It's clean and well-managed. Kind of a sketchy neighborhood but they have security.

Shekinah Govero
Stayed 2 nights the end of June
Bathrooms are not very clean - did not try the coin operated showers
Seemed to be ok with locals coming in and out for power outlets and showers so a little transient but I stayed years ago and it's definitely in better shape than it was then
No wifi - great LTE with Verizon
Good sized camp space

Great staff. Near the highway, but lots of trees. Keep your stuff locked up there is lots of foot traffic but its close to town and not just a gravel lot.
