Out-of-state visitor here… We stayed at the Baymont Inn a few blocks away & decided to walk over to this park around 10 AM on a Tuesday morning, so it was pretty quiet. There were 3 or 4 other people in the distance walking their dogs around, and one guy quietly using the public exercise equipment. It was peaceful, with views of the city in the distance, and a fairly good view of approaching aircraft landing at the nearby airport. One thing that made us uncomfortable was some guy in an older black SUV kept circling around the neighborhood, watching us walk back to the hotel, which made us nervous. He passed by us at least 3 times from 3 different directions, so we made a note of his license plate number just in case anything happened. From our hotel, we had to walk through an older neighborhood to get there, and (as is typical of many older neighborhoods) it was obvious which homeowners cared about their houses & yards and which ones didn’t. There were also a couple of empty & condemned houses nearby, but the park itself is pretty nice. It was a decent little daytime distraction on a long road trip for us.

Very clean and friendly little park good for families with small children and big. My 13 year old played for an hour on the play ground. There were NO BATHROOMS. However there is a VERY NICE DOG PARK. If you know of a close place to use the restroom this place is cool. We used it for over an hour while waiting outside our rental car for a flight back home at the very nearby airport. Very quiet in the middle of the day on a Wednesday.

Love Kirtland Park grew up in that neighborhood on Alamo se. Nice park quiet, dog park. Nice area did neighborhood relaxing and you can even watch the planes come in take off and land just sitting in the park

None Ya Business

I don't think there is a restroom, unless it's in the community center. The community center was closed. Big park. Great for picnics. Only about 10 people were there. Would be nice to see APD or BCSO in the parking lot. Not very many kids were there. Sad to see. Nice little play area for the kids.

Large area for kids to play. Also, has a covered playground for play during extreme heat or other crazy weather New Mexico throws our way. Dog Park and Walking path is really awesome! Besides the foul mouthed kids that frequent this park, one of the best in Albuquerque. I have NEVER found used hypodermic syringes near or around THIS park. Tbh

Beautiful lush green grass, that is clean and well mowed. Beautiful views of the of the West Mesa and the Sandia Mountains. Plenty of free parking. New recently installed playground equipment. Lovely walking trail that meanders across the grass. Easy access to both sides of the park north and south of the drainage Channel with bridges over the channel. Easy access to the community center on site. Fenced enclosed dog park on site. Shade structures located over playground equipment to prevent the items from getting excessively hot. Exercise equipment built in on-site for general public use for free. The park is never crowded and there's never a line to use the outdoor exercise equipment.

I didn't explore the whole park(like the dog park and the murals) however the children's playground was okay. One section was actually in bad condition and Jerry rigged with a fence and caution tape... The field and greenery were in good condition

It started as a field day at the park. 8:30 a.m. 100 + kids and adults. Had all kinds of activities going on, at 10:00 a.m. all the sprinklers go off. Ruining activities, getting the kids soaked in reclaimed water. Try stopping 100+kids to stay out of the water. I thought we couldn't water after 10:00 a.m. in the city! Thank you.

It's a nice park, but the dog park is not great. Sharp gravel had my dog walking funny and the tiered shape made it more difficult dangerous to play fetch.

Nice park ! Kind of a hidden gem. I’ve come here to eat lunch with my coworker a few times. Always clean and the community center is right there.
