Reviews of Don & Joe's Meats

Came upon this place while in the market and so happy we did. The gentleman at the counter was so kind. Great service. As tourists we couldn't really get meats but we could get meat sticks. They were so good. My husband went for the spicy stick and I opted for the maple bacon. They hit the spot. A great snack to grab while exploring. You will find this shop just to the left of the famous fish throwing place. Stop in!!

Have been here multiple times since moving downtown and Dan & Joe's is hands down the best butcher I have found in Seattle staff is friendly helpful and very knowledgeable the have the best cuts and the hard to fond exotic meats overall awesome place

I honestly cannot recommend this place enough! My husband and I get our meat from them almost every week now and they have always been extremely professional and helpful! The meat itself is always top quality and we find it doesn't go bad within a week (like our local grocery store's does). I also like that they are usually well stocked and I can get different types of meat (like lamb) for meal variety. Their jerky is also excellent! The only annoying thing is having to fight the tourists to get to their counter, but as a local I'd prefer doing that any day then continually throwing my money away at the grocery store.

Just moved to downtown Seattle, glad I found Don & Joe’s Meats inside Pike’s Place Market... quality is outstanding. Enjoyed a flavorful ribeye cut that melted in my mouth. Meat counter has all cuts of meat - looking forward to trying their pork. Friendly staff with top notch service.

Got a rack of lamb here and they gladly frenched it for me. Roasted it for dinner tonight, was by far the best rack of lamb I’ve ever had. Simply the best quality butcher in the city, hands down. Super friendly staff also! Can’t wait to try the steaks I got for tomorrow.
Thanks guys, it makes me so happy knowing you’re here!

I’ve always wanted to visit Pikes. Don & Joe’s was the highlight. Try their pepperoni and smoked cheese as a walk around snack! Super yummy and excellent customer service!

I have purchased poultry and beef at Don & Joe’s, and like everything in Seattle, the prices are high. However, the meats are excellent, sourced from state of Washington farms and ranches. The staff moves quickly, no time to schmooze at Don & Joe’s. My assumption is the lines are long normally, when there is no pandemic, and there is no time to socialize. I just enjoy socializing everywhere. I even schmooze with myself. It will be interesting when the pandemic is finally over in 2025 and the market is crowded.

I come regularly to buy good quality meats - I think this is the best value for money, for example, for whole chickens. I don't enjoy the thick cut bacon (but that's a question of taste) but I have never been disappointed with their ground beef or chicken. They are friendly and helpful here.

I started shopping here after moving to Seattle. See the market gets a bad wrap for being too touristy, bit there is quality and history here. staff is so incredibly kind and helpful no matter what you're ordering. be sure to get some of their breakfast sausages you won't be sorry.

It is so much fun to get the grocery in Pike Place Market in general, and I found the best meat....amazing quality and great service. Thank you so much for educated me about the meat! I will come back very soon!

They've been my butcher since I moved to Seattle. They always have your typical meats, like beef, steaks, etc, but they also have rarer meats like guinea fowl and quail and wild boar. I also come here to get beef bones for bone broth. All in all you'll find a lot here!

I called ahead knowing they would have the Fresh Duck breast I needed to make my wife Duck Ala orange. I drove 28 miles one way because i knew what quality they had. They are a must for any specialty or regular cut of good meat!!!!

Best meat in the local area a true old-school butcher & meat market!!!!
If you’re a bacon lover I highly recommend it.
Along with their hang in tenders.

One of my favorite reasons to go to the market has to be Don & Joe's meats.
You won't find a friendlier more knowledgable staff when it comes to all things meat, and their offerings are unique and always fresh.
Some of the best steaks, sausages, free range chicken breasts, and even chorizo made in house that I've ever had have come from here.
They've also got a little cooler with some more exotic cuts and types of meat that is always interesting to check out.
Never be shy about asking for advice on how to cook or prepare what you're looking for, or even for advice on what cut of meat would fit the bill for the type of flavor profile you're looking for.
The only downside is that yes, it is a bit more costly than going to Safeway or QFC and getting meat there, the trade off is the great selection of fresh meat that's prepared and ground each day as well as the wealth of knowledge that the staff manage to have all without being pretensions or hispsterish.

I've come here and gotten the frozen package meat combo. They are always so nice and friendly. They don't mind swapping a meat for something you'd use. I swing by sometimes just to ogle their meat. This is the SPOT for meat in the market. I love these guys.

Fun atmosphere and high quality meat at a great price! They also have some unique meats like the meat trail mix which is amazing! If you go to Pikes Place visit Don and Joe’s!

Wow! I called to ask if they had duck, Don answered and let me know yes! Plenty. Went there and was greeted by counter staff that helped me find what I wanted for a recipe. Kind, professional and great cuts! 😊 …
