Awesome place. Have bought steaks from here a few times now. Never disappointed - fair pricing, good service, and good taste. Today walking out with a 3” porterhouse, they asked how we would cook it and for pictures when it was done. Best way I can think to get it to them is here!

The Better Meat is the best in Seattle! We've been regularly buying frozen ground venison here for a while and the staff here are super accommodating and deliver great customer service. They have the best prices in town for the highest quality meats hands down. So glad we found them and we highly recommend them!

Their frozen dog food is astoundingly good and excellently priced. The owner created the blend especially for his own dogs. My mom comes all the way up from Olympia to get it in large quantities for her working farmdog. I've gotten ground rabbit from them for years for my cats, as well as gorgeous steaks, eye round for home-made beef jerky, and my friend gets all her meat from them for her nearby restaurant. They're friendly, informative, and they work together and treat their regular customers like family.

Great selections. Very helpful overall, I didn't know the cuts of most meats. Only fault, it was obvious, they didn't want me touching their plastic covered menu, that they offered to other customers. They were nice about it though. They didn't want it back and said I could take the menu with me.

Better Meat 🍖 has the best product in all of Seattle One of the best kept secrets of the Phinney-Greenwood area. Make sure to talk with them about how they can really MEAT your needs. I went in for New Years and got 5lb of Steak and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had from a butcher. Ask them how to cook it, store it, where it’s from? Took me a while to get to this review but I have to say, awesome crew here. Came in on literally Valentine’s Day to get a couple steaks to make for my newly wed wife - we were recreating a Valentine’s Day from 11 years ago. They helped me pick two perfect, fresh cut NY steaks (almost got me with the bacon wrapped filet mignon) and gave me advice on how to properly make it start to finish. It’s not like we haven’t tried a decade of recipes since that dinner…definitely one of the best meals we have shared together thanks to them. Thanks again you guys, can’t wait to come back!

We just moved to the Seattle area and found Better Meat in a Google search. Ordered a prime rib roast for Christmas Eve dinner on the phone. Very helpful and offered to remove bones, truss and preseason. When I got there to pick up, there were butchers in their coats out front with a few people waiting. One of them asked for my name, I gave my last name (very unique) and he looked at me and said, “Oh yeah! Firstname, I did it this morning”. He only took a few minutes, but by then we had organized the building line down the block. I tapped my credit card to their new, non contact charge machine and was on my way. So very pleased! The roast was wrapped in paper, then sealed in plastic, then in butcher paper. The marbling of fat was excellent. Using the 500 F for 25 minutes and hold 2 hours method, the roast was perfect. I wish I could post the picture! Our house pod was in a food coma for the rest of the evening. I can’t wait to break out my Traeger pellet smoker and order a brisket from them!

They sell picanha (popular in Brazil)! Made our day. Very friendly staff and they take preorders by phone to make pickup easy and quick during the quarantine. Meat has been good and for a good price too. Glad we stumbled upon this place in our neighbourhood!

This is a great butcher shop! They have a list up front, keep everything in the back, and treat you like close family like a traditional shop, so know what you want or at least know how to describe it. The meats & bones here are exceptional quality and very cost-effective.

How did I not find this place sooner!? Wonderful customer service and the freshness of the meat is amazing! No problem ordering a small quantity - they are very helpful. No website, but they will email you a price list of their full menu.

Love this place. I go mainly to get raw food for my dog, and I pay 60% of the cost I would at a pet store for higher quality meat. I usually end up picking something up for myself and it is always great. Friendly service, and they are always happy to recommend a cut of meat and a great way to cook it. I just wish they were open longer hours!

I may be biased here; since I went to kindergarten (around the corner) with the son of the guy who started the place. My friend now works there, as I ALWAYS knew he would, along with 2 other guys that have known me forever. They have been supplying restaurants, bars, and fishing boats (some of them VERY famous) for decades with the best meat around. The bias is well founded, and VERY contagious though! Everyone I send there, WILL return, guaranteed! Go there, you'll be back too!

Bought a lamb leg here several months ago to smoke for my dads birthday. It was my first time buying from butcher shop and the guy I spoke to made it very easy and a great experience. They had it ready for pick up the day I needed it and it was perfect wrapped. The quality was excellent.
