Reviews of Frady's One Stop Food Store
Lainey Cameron
Awesome local spot for po-boys. Take to go or eat at tables right outside.
The half lo-boy on French is huge, (what I’d call a full sandwich). We asked for a recommendation on what to order, and shrimp and Louisiana sausage po-boys were both delicious
Sean Kirschner
Such a great little hidden secret!! Their daily hot plates are so good. They will gladly mix and match the sides and give you whatever portions you want. So cool! They’ve also got great po boys and muffulettas. And they are the friendliest people in town. Just don’t tell anyone about this place please.
B Michael Ferweda
Why did the Chicken cross the road? For Frady’s Hamburgers, Fries & Coca Cola oh my! Frady’s is known for one of the best shrimp poboys in the city but the Hamburger is top notch! Never be over done by the fast food guys, this Bywater hole in the wall holds the flame on the competition!
Perry Harrell
Ohhh, Frady's...how I love thee! Nestled in the heart of the Bywater, Frady's has been going strong for over 50 years and it's not hard to see (or taste) why.
A truly locals spot but of course the secret starts to slip out over time. The decision on what to order is nearly impossible but on my recent visit I had the half shrimp po-boy and a small red beans & rice (it was Monday after all.) Both were just perfect with a dash of Crystal. The service is so friendly as well, you'll feel like a local as soon as you walk in the door.
This is mainly a to-go spot but there are about five tables outside which fill quickly during breakfast/lunch. You can always take your food to the park a block away too!
There are daily specials, extensive list of po-boys, meat & three sides (amazing), various ice cream sandwiches/cones in the cooler, various bottled drinks, etc. etc.
They note they are "home to the grumpy old man breakfast, po-boys, lunch specials & groceries." I can say, you might be grumpy when you enter but you sure won't be grumpy when you leave!
Bon Cleaver
We went here for our po boy sandwiches and wish we had more time to come back to try their all day breakfast and lunch menu - it all sounded and looked great. The store was packed with locals and the staff were super friendly helping us decide what to get. We had the shrimp and roast beef for lunch and couldn’t eat dinner after that! Only two blocks from crescent park, pick up a po boy, walk to the park and enjoy some local food with a great view! The neighbourhood is brilliant to walk around and explore too!
Rod Gullo
Excellent mom & pop market and sandwich shop. Very friendly employees and excellent sandwiches. Got a whole Roast Beef Po Boy in French bread and a whole Muffuletta. The roast beef was lean, tender, and very juicy. The Roast Beef PO Boy was perfect and the best we've ever had. The Muffuletta was also perfect and better than those from the Central Grocery, which claims to be the originator in Jackson Square. Frady's is definitely worth the short bus ride to the 9th Ward. After we got our sandwiches, we walked the short distance to Crescent Park to eat on a table by the Mississippi. Cash Only.
Bill Clossin
Loved this place. Super-friendly people and great Po' Boys and Muffalettas. If you do like we did and try eating the Roast Beef Po' Boy in the car, buy a roll of paper towels. It's messy delicious. The Muffaletta was enormous and also delicious.
Peter Brady
A damned good neighorhood po'boy shop. The roast beef debris ranks among the best in the city.
Matthew Church
Saw it on Netflix and had to visit when my wife and I were here for our honeymoon. The hype is real! This place is like your grandma's kitchen in a cozy little shop with kind workers. Everything we tried was made fresh and most importantly, its all delicious. Cash only.
Wade Taves
Great neighborhood spot, there'll be a wait and it'll be worth it. Everything was delicious. My wife loved the muffeletta & my oyster po-boy wasn't just the best po-boy I had during our stay, but the best oysters too (including Antoine's).
Khurram Hassan
Unique, small grocery store/poboy spot in the Bywater neighborhood. Staff are super friendly and helpful. They have great all day poboys with fresh ingredients. Breakfast is made fresh and they have a great choice of drinks. You can sit outside but no room inside for seats.
Jeremiah Lewis
Neighborhood institution that lives up to the hype. Family business. Cash only. Recommend a BLT, potato salad, plate, lunch specials, and any Poboy you see on the menu.
Ellie Kang
Best po-boys, especially their hot sausage and fried shrimp! They have v good rotating hot food menu, too. Cash only.
Hannah Frisch
Couldn’t decide between trying out this place or Melba’s for a shrimp po boy… I’m so glad I picked this place! Definitely local, cash only but there’s an ATM inside. But hands down the best shrimp po boy I’ve ever had. The bread was so fresh, shrimp freshly fried, even the tomato was exceptional 😂 So glad we chose this place. Not spicy either! Absolutely perfect.
Jacob Kaitholil
One of the best Shrimp Po Boys I’ve ever had. This mom and pop spot is a must have when you’re in NOLA. Make sure to bring cash!!!
Katya A
Lovely staff and great traditional food. Don’t expect anything fancy but it you are happy to get your hands dirty these guys have you sorted. Order a po-boy or two and wash it down with a cheap beer. The best!
jan gilley faiella

Local color, flavor, and charm. Bargain prices, big portions.
Demetrius Burks
I first discovered this place on Netflix. Boy am I glad I did. I had the roast beef po Boi sandwich. It was huge, the veggies were fresh, the meat was so tender, and the French roll they used was super soft. A+.
Chloe Whigham
I love this little store. It’s right down the street from my apartment and has brought me so much joy the past two years. Whenever I have some cash on me I go down to buy some ice cream, the Blue Bunny tubs or a Spongebob popsicle. The ice cream has been the highlight of my day for many days now, and in turn this store has too.
Bob Haugh
Joe and his family chat were very welcoming and the food was fresh-a-licious!!! The Shrimp Poboy was great with hot sauce!
Charlotte
Frady’s is my go-to neighborhood spot in the Bywater for the best oyster PoBoys, Muffulettas, and breakfast sandwiches In New Orleans! The staff is friendly, and Mr. Kirk always has me leaving with a smile. :) Great local, family-owned spot. Highly recommend!
Dichelle Hogues
We saw the spot on the Netflix show Street Food and drove from Houston to visit and it was everything we wanted it to be. Thanks for the good service....we enjoyed our poboys
michelle mashon
Love me some Frady's- neighborhood staple for poboys, muffulettas and hot plates. Always full of regulars, a true staple of the neighborhood, the owners are so nice and always there working with the rest of their staff. Recommend getting a poboy and a beer, then walking down to the Piety St crossing and enjoying it on the river in Crescent Park- roast beef is my go-to!
gretchen tucker
Frady's is the best! Their oyster poboy is my favorite in town. Burgers are juicy and cooked to perfection. Hand cut fries and friendly folks making your meal! Yummy!
Bill Anderson
If they had a 6th star, I'd give it to Frady's.
They got what you need. Home cooking. Comfort food. Delicious entrees. Hearty po-boys. Real neighborhood vibes. Unpretentious. Reasonable prices, plentiful portions.
Hannah Andrus
I got the roast beef po boy, husband got the hot sausage. Both were fantastic!! The roast beef po boy was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Don’t worry about what it looks like inside, the food is out of this world!
Regina Alvarez
I got a BLT sandwich and it was magical. It was my first time but I definitely will be returning. Everyone was so nice. And the place was adorable. Make sure you bring cash it's a cash only business. But they do have a ATM.
David Peltier
Excellent poboys: shrimp, oyster, ham hit sausage, roast beef, my favorite? Do not know, depends on the day, Tuesday meatloaf you cannot beat. Staff exceptionally helpful and frienfly
Large_flips_that!
Funny little place you’d never knew had good food unless someone told you. They sell cigs. And others along with killer po boys and some daily specials. A true hidden gem
Lena Griffin
Down home, southern deli serving up hardy meals with a side of New Orleans famous hospitality!! Great selection of breakfast items, lunch specials and beverages! Cool artwork outside and one of the friendliest staffs around! Great place to pickup a quick bite to eat. A true neighborhood gem!!
Joe Bae
Got their roast beef Poboy for breakfast because I’m only here for a short time. Planned on eating only half to leave space for other bites around the neighborhood. Nope. I don’t think I took a breath between bites. Best damn sandwich I’ve ever had.
Andrew Nerney
Best Po Boys in NOLA! Love the roast beef and fried shrimp with hot sauce, fully dressed! A hidden gem. Will definitely return.
lin signup
Yummy , great prices, people. I love the hot platter, 1 meat with 3 sides & buttered bread. You get to see the selections, point & they generously & nicely fill ur platter. My friends love the foiled sandwiches & poboys. Wish they would open one in Berkeley, CA. Ty!
Nikki
My first time at this place was amazing. I wanted a type of Po Boy that was sold out. But was promised I’d love the one I ended up getting as a 2nd choice and I totally did! Great kind service and excellent yummy food! I’ll be back! :-)
Dean McLeod
Amazing! Best Po'boy we had in new orleans, tasty roast beef, dripping with lovely sauce. Home cooking vibes. Made with love. and the best bit, the dude running the place was so nice! super lovely guy. Jambalaya was epic too. Love love love this place!
Noah Arthur
Great people, very friendly. Best food
Benjamin Bon Temps
Great place for breakfast and lunch. Can get busy. Super friendly staff, even when I fuss about them (rarely) running out of Dr. Pepper. Kirk, the owner, has a lot of raw, sexual charisma and charm. Theresa is wonderful, as is Kerry. Tony is a bit of a freak, but he's very kind.
Galen Barry
I ate here in 2012--the last time I was in New Orleans--and made sure to look it up again this time. Delicious food, fair prices, friendly people, unpretentious digs.
Nick Marchese
Friendly people serving incredible food. Best shrimp po boy I've had in New Orleans. This is a gem of a place.
Katt Ledlow
They have great poboys and some of the best plate lunches in the city! If you want the traditional New Orleans corner store experience, come to Frady's!
Penny
My Mom, a Bywater resident, craves an Oyster Po Boy every Friday. For many, many years only Frady's can satisfy her. Talk about fresh, succulent, perfectly cooked oysters. The owners are unbelievably nice. Every time I come into town to visit my Mom they make me feel welcome and make humongous po boys for us. I highly recommend that you stop in and ask for a "Lauren Swinney special" (an oyster po boy). Lauren Swinney is an elderly Bywater actor (Waiting, Benjamin Buttons, Mardi Gras, etc) who really loves NOLA and Frady's. Mention her name and you'll get the royal treatment.
T. Rick
lotsa love ingredient #1. thank y'all! daily plate specials. gotta amazin' porkchop, green beans, stewed apple deal, $7.99.
owned/operated/staffed by nicest folks ya gone find inna any neighborhood, anywhere round here.
Susan B
I love this place - the people are really nice, the food is good, and cheap - but they keep their own hours (open and close when they feel like it). If you go an hour or so after they're supposed to open or an hour or so before they're supposed to close, you're probably safe. They are NOT open until 6 on Saturday. They close at 3.... or earlier, I guess, if they feel like it.
David Haubrich
Great service and help with ordering. Then the food itself- fantastic. Fresh. Messy. Delicious. Highly recommend the roast beef po boy.
Cali Gannon
This place is amazing. The food is delicious, the people are angels, and you cannot beat the price. 10/10 would absolutely recommend.
Davilyn Rohr
Delicious poboys and muffuleta!
Mr Wheeler
Had the "Lauren Swinney" Oysters Po Boy. Mine was hard fried, ask for the housemade tartar sauce. Staff was excellent food even better.
Herbert Damoiseaux
During a holyday, i spend some time at Frady's, what a great place, and what a great guy.
We talked about differences between Nola and some European city's (i'm from the Netherlands) and Frady was ver interested in Europe. He serves and sells great food, and he's really involved with his customers, again, a grat guy in a great place
Michelle mac FnaF cricdrs
It's a Bywtr Tradition Mr Frady lives across the street and his twins run it now Ask for Curt he'll get it done, Everyday hot plate lunch special but so good they'll sell out Tues is Meatloaf definitely sells out, there's sides and deviled eggs, baby muffulettas $1 Poboys to go, there's a selection of cold drinks, it's a staple in this neighborhood
SK S
love this place, best po boys in town, but someone needs to teach the new guy how to correctly make a sandwich the last few times I've been in, I've gotten home and the bread is super squished an there for rubbery tasting, the dressing (lettuce, tomato) is all all over the inside of the wrapping and not on the sandwich, and its missing both mayo and pickles.
Robert Caldwell
Best Po' Boys and a great friendly staff. This food is legendary.
Sandy Moorman
Add their roast sandwich to the list of reasons why I love this place. Five stars over and over again
Kory Leung

(Translation) The best poyboy in new orleans. We were pushed here by the documentary seen on netflix and I must say that it is really good. The choice of ingredients is wide and you can decide to customize the sandwich as you prefer.
(Original)
Il poyboy più buono di new orleans. Siamo stati quà spinti dal documentario visto su netflix e devo dire che è veramente buono. La scelta degli ingredienti è ampia e si può decidere di personalizzare il panino come si preferisce.
