I enjoyed my last meal while in New Orleans at this restaurant. I decided I wanted a really good steak dinner to finish off my trip and saw this location was nearby. I walked past a few windows and saw the meat refrigerated inside and was sold on the look. I went inside worried that I wasn't dressed properly and the hostess were very sweet and kind. I was seated at the bar and the bartender immediately came over with a glass of water while I perused the menu. I decided on a 16oz New York Strip Steak, Truffle Fries, and a Strawberry Lemon Drop. I also requested Bread Service.
Overall the food was excellent my Steak was cooked Medium Rare which is my preference. What I really enjoyed was that it wasn't seasoned. They actually put a Sea Salt concoction along with a herb seasoning off to the the side for you to dip your steak in. The truffle fries were delicious and my strawberry lemon drop was just the right amount of sweetness to alcohol that I like.
While I was enjoying my food the bartenders constantly checked in on me to make sure that everything was to my satisfaction. It was above and beyond.
I wasn't able to finish the meal and took it to go with an extra Onion Bread Roll. Excellent experience. Highly recommended

Phenomenal food in a beautiful building. I sat for dinner in the courtyard which was handsome and comfortable. For dinner we ordered the porterhouse and roast vegetables and everything was delicious. The steak was carved tableside which was a nice touch. The service was attention and friendly. The bread service here is excellent, worth the visit by itself.

The service is excellent and the atmosphere elegant. You have to try the bread. Let’s not forget the incredible ribeyes cooked to perfection. We were a party of 7. We walked in 45 min before a very large party that had reserved the entire restaurant. They were prepped for the party and had no room for us. But some how they managed to fit us in.
They rushed the food for us and the service was still quite attentive and excellent.
That is a sign of a business that puts customers first.

My husband and I made a reservation here for dinner and it was an amazing dining experience. The steak was delicious. We had the bone in rib-eye to share and the caviar as an appetizer. We ordered a nice bottle of wine to go with the meat. The wine menu was impressive. Everything was perfect. The steak tasted better and better with each and every bite. The staff was very nice. The bartending was great. We sat at the bar and had a perfect view of all the action taking place in the kitchen. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good steak dinner while in New Orleans!

We absolutely love coming to Doris! My boyfriend refuses to go else where for his bday every year and we usually still dine 3-5 times a year with that. Anthony took great exceptional care of us last night as VIP guests for his birthday. Tomahawk- perfect as usual! The carrots - so good! And as always a chocolate nemesis to end the perfect meal.

Food was delicious and interesting. Plates were well constructed and appealing to look at. Only downside was eating at the bar - ending up waiting numerous times for drink refills, extra utensil, etc. Would definitely recommend reserving a table.

This ended up being one of the absolute best dining experiences my fiancé and I have ever had. Truly elevated dining, from the cozy and sexy atmosphere, artfully crafted cocktails, sumptuously prepared plates, exemplary service. It all works poetically together. Thank you to Doris for a memorable date night experience, we can’t wait to come back. Chateaubriand tartare is pure decadence, and always trust your chef and their in-house butcher by choosing either the Butchers cut or Classified cut. You will not be disappointed. Red wine salt was a highlight, as was the bright Bonaparte dessert the manager sent. Our waiter was so knowledgeable about every dish and gave us so much insight as to how each plate was created. Just divine from start to finish. Thank you again!

What a bijou in the French quarter! It started with oven warm breads (some focaccia / and some roll with a yeast dough). That was stunning to begin with. The beetroot with goat cheese was of superb seasoning, the salmon tartar was a bit overspiced with sesame imo but still a great dish. The starters were nicely presented. The meats were cooked to perfection, only downer were the side dishes - wich were no mach for the other food performance. Waiters were very attentive and good trained. We had a great eavening and the 5 starts are very well deserved. Congrats!

Christmas dinner, we were set without wait service. Once we notified the staff that we had not been waited on, Assistant Manager Anthony went out of his way to make our evening fantastic. Between Anthony and our waiter Collin our Christmas meal was excellent. Their service was impeccable! When in NOLA, go to Doris’.

This place is excellent. I have been to a lot of restaurants with great service and this one beats them all hands down. I should note it was a crazy delicious meal. We started with the sweetbreads which was too die for. I had the short rib which is cooked for 24 hours, and my friend had the tenderloin with bone marrow. Mine was huge. I was so full but it tasted so good i had to do my best to keep going. I wished i lived there just so i could take it home. In spite of ourselves we had to get the chocolate nemesis for dessert - killer. I know I mentioned the service was great, but it needs reiterating. Our server Mai was wonderful, but so was all the other staff we interacted with. There was a couple beside us and you could tell the staff was trying to make their evening special - I'm not sure what they were celebrating but it was so sweet.

Wife booked our dinner here. Beautiful place and ambiance is wonderful. Bread at the beginning was delicious, wife's steak was amazing, mine was cooked to perfection but really didn't have much taste, which is why the 4 star. That's just me though, I'm not the biggest fan of steaks cooked on a grill, because it taste like the grill. I would have loved it if you had A1 sauce, just because i like the taste of the sauce. Server who was great, gave me a demi glaze sauce, but that was just really sweet.

Where do I start. One of the best kept secrets in New Orleans. Conveniently located a stones throw away from Jackson's Square. If you are a Steak lover then you need to look no farther for the perfect meal while you are on vacation or just a special night on the town. When you first wall in your will definitely be impressed with the steak aging chamber. They have a Steak for everyone from the low 30s to over 150 be your flavor. A great experience and a even better meal. I will definitely be returning when I visit The Big Easy Again.

Very attentive service which is appreciated in a world where it seems service is becoming less important. The beetroot was special and 100 worth it, just a perfectly cooked beet. Steak was as expected, very nice however the bone marrow was over lower quality than expected. Regardless, very happy with the experience, thank you.

My family and I dined here to celebrate my engagement. I booked my reservation a month in advance and we still had to wait almost a half an hour after our reservation time to be seated. We were only seated because they gave a party sitting at our table free drinks to move, we received nothing. Our waiter likewise did not seem at all enthused to be helping us on this particular evening. I do have to give three stars because the food was very good and the host was very kind. Just a little disappointing.

First time here and the staff and the experience are definitely worth the visit.
My husband and I have been to a few steakhouse restaurants and this by far is our new favorite! The appetizers keep it interesting, not what I would call typical, but the sides and steak are spot on. It doesn't stop there, the presentation is awesome, if you get the chef's experience you won't be disappointed! Great place, will return.

I was skeptical at first. Prices were high and not the type of variety I like in a steak house, but once we got our food that all change. The flavors of the stealks were amazing, the tomato salad starter was a delightful surprise in every bites.

This is my boyfriends favorite restaurant in New Orleans because they specialize in dry aged beef. I love it there because they sous vide their dry aged steaks so they’re tender AF. We love sitting at the bar so we can watch the cooks work their magic. We have had a few meals here and they’re always on point. Last time I had the best steak of my entire life. I ordered it rare BLUE and it came out so rare and so tender. Omg.

Goodness gracious this place was such a wonderful experience from the moment I walked through the door until the moment I left.
Israeli owned and operated I have heard good things about Doris Metropolitan! Upon entering it was clean and modern and everyone was so friendly and even being seated was a wonderful experience. The gals up front we're just so sweet. Our server, Caesar was world class! I enjoyed him so much He has a lot of personality and knowledge and seems to enjoy working there. My next favorite part was the sommelier Nessa (like Lisa) I'll be going back just to sit at her bar and chat with her more. She was an absolute peach!
Moving on to the food which was absolutely freaking exquisite... Gosh I think we had a bone-in ribeye and a bone-in... Well I'm not actually sure because I didn't order but one of the cuts was a special off the menu cut and we got the last one! Either way one of those was the best steaks I've ever had in my life and turns out they're sous vide and then finished on the grill and it was just lovely.
The wine was spectacular and even the bathroom was A+! I love the fact that they use linens and there was no paper towels or hand drying machine. It was truly an experience I will never forget and will be happy to go back.

One of the most special restaurants I’ve ever been to, and I went on the most special day of my life. I got engaged at Doris last week. I got a recommendation from New Orleans chef Nathaniel Zimet that if I was going to propose at a steak house in town, I had to do it at Doris. I will forever be grateful for that recommendation. It was such a beautiful night. Our server was Bobby and he and the entire rest staff made the evening absolutely magical. They set us up at the best table in the house with a full view of the French quarter and pulled out every stop there is to pull, and the food and the atmosphere and the evening itself was completely unforgettable. (Despite the best efforts of the incredible wine which did never stopped flowing.) The sommelier on site made sure every glass of wine was perfectly suited to our taste. I had the Off The Bone short rib at my waiter Bobby’s recommendation, incredible. They bring you a mountain of mashed potatoes covered in the most succulent short rib you’ve ever had in your life, which sits on the plate next to an enormous Fred Flintstone bone. My fiancé had the ribeye with bone marrow which is seasoned to perfection and then comes with a side of additional seasoning that tastes so good its not even right. All in all, I felt duty-bound to recommend this wonderful eatery to everyone on the Internet. Thank you Doris! Cannot wait to return

The ribeye and with the root purée were phenomenal! Artisanal cheese boards featured many diverse and unique cheeses. Also the Tomato salad was an explosion of flavor that is to die for! Definitely great place for a special occasion like anniversary, or birthday. The service we received from Rene and everyone else was spectacular, and the overall ambiance of the environment creates a soothing vibe.

5 star service, 3-4 star meal. I thought the steak was good but doesn’t compare to a great steakhouse. The preparation was not to my liking. A $50+ steak should be cooked at higher temperature to get a good char on the outside. Either way this could be a personal preference. The large garden salad had tons of fresh leaves and but very little flavor. Maybe 3 tiny apple slices and a few pomegranate seeds. The lettuce to “other stuff” ratio is way off. I cannot say enough good things about the people and if you like French bread you’ll be very happy!

Great experience - our server was terrific. I got the Ribeye which had a terrific flavor. The aging was the perfect amount in my opinion - not too overwhelming but enough you could taste. We enjoyed several appetizers as well as the truffle fries.

Really nice dinner with a friend and a helpful, cheerful staff made it even better. Our steaks were beautifully prepared and crazy tender and delicious! The rib eye schwarma on hummus appetizer was a perfect start. We chose the roasted vegetables and fries as sides, I'll try others the next time I go. Luckily I live in the neighborhood so I might just make this my go to steakhouse; I was not disappointed...

Step inside and you'll see the room where they age meats to your right. Grab a seat at the bar and meet bartenders who really know their cocktails (hot and cold, traditional and their own specialties). Be sure to get the bread, comes nice and warm with butter and a plate of really good olive oil, balsamic and tomato spread. Got the Falls of the Bone...It was the best thing I ever ate. (This cow would have eaten itself if it could. It's that good!) Do not miss this place!

All I have to say about Doris Metropolitan is Wow. I could end my review here but I want to do it justice. Wow to the food, wow to the drinks, wow to the service, wow to the prices....
This was a special occasion, my daughter's 25th birthday, and our 32nd wedding anniversary. My daughter chose the restaurant. (She has good taste.) She knew some people in the industry so they were expecting us. A table was ready and they immediately brought us a complimentary drink, Cynar, an artichoke liqueur. I happened to try it the day before. If you are curious, it starts out sweet, then ends on a bitter note. Worth trying. I don't think I would want to experience a Cynar hangover.
Their steaks are dry aged and priced accordingly. We had agreed before going that we would order and share, having heard their portions are also large. However, they offer a chef's choice. You say how many ounces of meat you want per person and the chef puts together a spread. There were five of us, and I asked for eight to ten ounces per person. (I think it worked out to about four steaks in total.) We also ordered several sides - asparagus, grilled vegetables and truffle fries.
It really did not take long for the dinner to arrive. The meat comes out on a large butcher block, with it served flambe. The server slices the meat at the table. I am not 100% certain what cuts they were, but think we had Bone-in Rib Eye, Strip Steak, Tenderloin, and their Butcher's Cut. I cannot begin to describe the flavor and tenderness of every bite. The only disappointment was the size of the side orders which really were not enough for the table. They were all delicious.
They have a sommelier on staff who suggested a wine. It was a light bodied red wine that did not overpower the taste of the meat but had enough body to hold up to the other flavors. There was a lot of food and we finished every bite.
We were also comped for dessert because of the occasion. They brought small portions of Halvah, Olive Oil Cake, Chocolate Torte, and maybe they also brought some Affogato (but I'm not sure about that one). We also had coffee and espresso.
Their server to patron ratio was fabulous. We must have had three or four people serving us, checking in on us, and ensuring we were completely satisfied. They did a great job. I'm very happy my daughter suggested Doris Metropolitan. It was definitely worth the experience.

This is a pricey restaurant but you get your money’s worth. The 28 day aged rib eye was excellent. My wife ordered the butchers cut ‘well-done and butterflied’ but there was still some pink in it, although it was still very good and the sauce was served on the side as requested.
Portion sizes are big and there is generous amount of complimentary bread. We ordered a side of fries but didn’t need them.

Last time I was in New Orleans I refused to come dine here alone because I would of felt a little lonely lol.
This time I had company.
We started off with the tuna tartare. Omg you must order this. The soy caviar and tiny splashes of sauces make the dish beyond amazing.
We also tried the sweetbreads, it's another freaking must order.
As for entrees, I went with the 18oz 21 day aged ribeye for $44
It was cooked perfectly and i could barely eat it. I was determined but I started looking a little pregnant so I was like nooo lol.
My bf ordered the 12 oz tenderloin which came with bone marrow. Lol which he hates so muhahahaha I ate it.

Drinks: I ordered a nice Malbec and he ordered what would be their version of an old fashion.
I told him to think twice about it, it was way tooo smokey. Like nasty smokey. I prefer a regular one.
Service was amazing. Booth seats are a bit too close for me. I would like a little more too.
Other than that everything was absolutely amazing.

Great service, great steaks...tuna tartare is a must. Calamari was a miss...oversalted and felt like I was eating a salad of parsley stems. Steak was perfection which is really all you need at a steakhouse, tender and cooked to a perfect medium rare.

Fantastic service from one of the managers standing in to wait tables. Lots of off-menu steak options - be sure to ask! The most tender, perfectly seasoned sous vide Wagyu available around here, though you'll absolutely pay for it.

We had a late dinner scheduled at 845, we just arrived in new Orleans from Rochester NY.
The overall experience was good. We got right in and seated quickly. The server knew it was for our anniversary and got us a complimentary glass of champagne. Here's a breakdown of the good/bad:
The good:
- Service was attentive
- Food was well prepared (aside from my entree)
- Setting was really cozy
The bad:
- My steak was undercooked; most likely due to the fact that we had such a late reservation. They quickly fixed the issue though.
- Prices are a bit high
Overall, had to give a 3 star due to the steak issue and the fact that this is a steak house with premium prices. Would try this again though during normal dinner hours.

Unbelievably delicious. Our waitress Sophie was a rock star, warm, attentive and out of this world knowledgable about the food. New York strip was our favorite along with the Beet Root dish. Hard to go wrong with any of the dishes.

The food is incredible. I highly recommend the bone in rib eye it is the longest aged steak that they currently have.. The Chocolate dessert with the pistachio ice cream is outrageous I've never had such a rich creamy delicious ice cream in my life. The service is spot on. Excellent service and atmosphere. The steaks are amazing and the wine selection is huge and variable to say the least. The bar setup is just as enjoyable as the main dining seating. Delaney, the bartender, will take care of answering questions and making suggestions should you need it. I highly recommend this place if you're looking to spoil yourself or someone else.

I ordered the 31-Day dryaged ribeye (cooked medium-rare) and a glass of Cabernet, my typical order for this type of restaurant. Flavor was a bit bland, and the presentation was just okay. You can see in the photo that it’s just a scallion placed on top of a slightly-above average steak, no side, with salt and pepper. I guess I was just expecting more for this price range. Service was also not so great. I ordered an espresso twice from two different servers and never actually got one until I asked the food-runner. Had much better experience at Morton’s or even a Longhorn..

Excellent restaurant. The meat is top quality, and so are the desserts and drinks. A special mention goes to the waiter who served me, Cesár, who's lead me through a wonderful food experience suggesting me the best dishes and drinks. Prices are honest, especially considering the level of this place. Definitely a restaurant I recommend!

Sat down at bar and everything met expectations. Drinks were excellent and food was very good. I had lamb and friends both had steak along with multiple drinks. Price was a bit high, but you get what you pay for so don't expect to get out of there for less than $100/person. If you want a good steak, with great atmosphere and bar service, I would highly recommend.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans. There are only three in the world. I have eaten here so many times. I’ve done takeout. I’ve taken numerous people to this restaurant and have introduced them to it. Everyone enjoys this restaurant. We always recommend this one to anyone who comes to see us. They have amazing truffle fries. And their petite fillet cannot be beat. They have an extensive selection of wines. Great bar to just sit in and have a drink and have an appetizer. Went into Doris metropolitan last night on a referral from a friend. We are in town for mothers day and for a short vacation.
The atmosphere was delightful and comfortable for a date.
Bobby, our waiter was fantastic. We went with his suggestions on food and wine and he nailed it in every way. The classified cut steak was hands down the best steak I've ever had anywhere. Simply amazing!
The wine and liquor menu was nice and had many great choices.
Food prices were on par for a good steakhouse and the beverage prices were surprisingly reasonable.
We can't wait to go back.

I visited NOLA a couple weeks ago. We did not have reservations but hoped someone had canceled or there were seats at the bar. There were 6 seats open at the bar and 2 ppl leaving. The hostesses were lovely, they explained that the bar was not 1st come 1st serve but if we waited they might be able to accommodate us. There was a missed reservation. We waited, no problem. While we were waiting a Caucasian man and his coworker came in and asked if we were going to sit at the empty seats we were standing in front of at the bar. I told him what the hostesses told us. He said that's ridiculous, he didn't have a reservation and didn't understand why he couldn't sit at the almost empty bar. He went and talk to who, I later found out was the mgr and was seated. We however continued to wait while he was served a drink and appetizer. The hostesses apologized and stated she wasn't sure why we hadn't been seated but the table was ready. We asked if we could sit. She agreed, not 2 minutes after we were seated, the mgr approached us and asked if we checked w the hostesses before being seated. We advised we had and she sat us. I watched him approach her and then point to our table. I felt very uncomfortable. I waved it off as the other staff were very courteous. Because we were in the front of the restaurant, I watched on 3 separate occasions as black patrons were turned away and Caucasian patrons were accommodated. I know for sure two of the caucasian parties did not have reservations. Yes, I asked.
Because of my profession, I frequently patronize high end restaurants. I have never experienced such blatant discrimination before. I hope you will address this with your leadership.

Very delicious food and great service. The waiter was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. The menu had two pages appetizers- salads & entrees with sides. This is a vegetable friendly side dish type of restaurant which was still very good. I’d recommend looking at the menu prior to reserving to make sure this is the food you want. It was perfect for us. The atmosphere was very romantic, the wine list was expansive, and the meat rooms were out of this world! I recommend this as a romantic dinner with your loved one and would come back again.

I don't mean to be harsh with this review. I just didn't see the value from this restaurant. My wife and I shared the porterhouse cooked medium. Yes that is a little over but my wife wont do a medium rare steak. The filet on her side was tender My side was a little under. Understandable its almost impossible to cook basically 2 different steaks to the same temp at one time. The steak was $130. The bright side of the steak was the sea salt the served with it. It helped the flavor out tremendously since I found it to be a bit flavorless. The asparagus was okay but nothing special $12. The grilled vegetables $9 a medley of different veggies I thought was nice but unseasoned. The wife had a Bloody Mary $20?. Very heavy on the vodka but she didn't complain. My Crown and Coke didn't come since they were out of Crown. But they do proudly serve Vero water which was nice and added to your bill automatically for $2.50 per person LOL. The food was good but after tip I was well over $200 for a meal that I could have did at home for less then $40. The atmosphere was not bad. The place was very busy and pretty loud. But that's a Saturday night in New Orleans for you. I would have included some pics but there's plenty on here already. Our service was a little lack luster. I don't know if they were short staffed or just not very observant. Nobody ever check on us until we were finished. No desert waws offered just a check. In all just a very plain no frills type of dinner to me.

Definitely a solid choice if you are looking for a more up-scale night out in New Orleans. The menu was lean but the selections were tasteful and priced as to be expected. The Pilsner beer was solid and the staff performed wonderfully. I would recommend calling a couple of days in advance in order to place a reservation. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu but the bone-in ribeye is definitely the stand-out choice in my opinion. Don't let the $20+ premium for the bone deter you, it was definitely worth it.

The steaks were cooked to a perfect medium rare and came served with a mound of salt and pepper on the side. We were encouraged to season each bite ourselves which we absolutely loved. It really allowed us to get the perfect bite every time and I honestly wish more steakhouses would do that. The asparagus side was also another highlight of our meal.

One of the top 3 meals I have had in my life! Absolutely amazing all around. There were 10 of us so we had just about everything on the menu. I have nothing negative to say and highly recommend. The classified cut and short rips were my favorite, although all the meat just melts in your mouth. The sides and apps were unique and delicious. The service we received made the whole experience one that I will never forget. Ashley was so very knowledgeable and professional, and explained the cuts of meat as she was using very sharp knives. Best steaks I've had in a long time! The ambiance is grown and sexy. Not a place I would bring kids to like a table across from us did asking "Do you have chicken nuggets?" Definitely not that kind of place. The staff was super friendly, attentive and all around wonderful. We where there celebrating our 16 year anniversary and they brought us some tasty wine for us. The steaks are aged well so the flavors explode in your mouth with little need for lots of additional seasoning. The tuna tartare was delicious and expertly crafted for a culinary display of excellence. It's entertaining watching all the New Orleans craziness out on the street from the comfort of our cozy 5 star restaurant setting! I can't wait to go back to NO for many reasons but especially to visit Doris Metropolitan for another round of delicious steaks!

Not the easiest place to get to by car but once you are there be prepared to eat. There may be a holy trinity of steak houses in the NOLA area, this venue is the mother Mary. The cheese board appetizer is a good place to start. The drinks from the bar were mixed to perfection. The steaks are aged, seasoned and grilled to perfection. The truffle fries are an extremely tasty side. The staff is friendly, welcoming and attentive. I like charred cow flesh, so this is another restaurant that I enjoy.

This was our first dinner stop in New Orleans for a long weekend. Ambiance and service were both very nice, and we were sat next to a window so it was fun to people watch since we were close to Bourbon street. A friend booked a meal for a group of us here and, without hyperbole, this was one of the best restaurant meals I've ever had. Every course was served family style (loved this!).
In addition to an excellent selection of beer, wine, and cocktails, they have an extensive selection of bourbon and whiskey with which one can order a fantastic Old Fashion (I got the Wyoming).
For appetizers we had the Bread Plate, Tomato Celebration Salad, Chateaubroand Tartare, Tuna Tartare, and Octopus (my favorite!).
The main course was a steak board (Ribeye, Porterhouse, Tenderloin w/ bone marrow , and fall of the bone Short-rib w/ mushroom ragu), with Root Puree and Truffle French Fries.
Desert: Chocolate Nemesis, Bonaparte, and Spiced Grape Bread Pudding. and we walked home to (try to) burn some of those calories.

Wonderful experience! We sat in the atrium away from the bustle of New Orleans. Aged steak 21 and 31 days all delicious! The warm calamari salad is excellent. Before dinner they serve a quartet of different breads with oil basalmic reduction and spices. The wine list is impressive for an area that doesn't have grapes. We had asparagus with dinner and it was really good as well. The Service was fantastic! Best dining experience in New Orleans.

Best Meal I Have had in Years! Everything at this Restaurant appears to be house made; the ingredients are phenomenal, expertly combined, and wonderfully presented. The Tomato Celebration Salad is like a Symphony in your mouth. The burger was, well much more than a burger; every bite was a soft tender morsel of quality beef that is perfectly pleasing to the palate. The decor was smartly minimalist, in my opinion, it is a great place to have a wonderful dining experience.

We were greeted by the most kind host, who ensured we were not seated by a child (as we are a couple, looking to enjoy a date night in New Orleans), right on time with our reservation.
We then were lucky enough to be served by Lee, who was knowledgeable, hilarious & gracious throughout our meal. He paired our wine perfectly, clearly loving what he does, and made us feel like the only table in the restaurant. The floor manager Aaron floated around the tables, adjusting each cup or plate with care & didn’t hesitate to ask where he could be of assistance (even though the night was already perfect). They were a dream, please trust me when I say these types of servers rarely exist anymore.
If we ever have the opportunity to visit another Doris restaurant around the world, we will 100% do so. Stop looking for somewhere to eat; you’ve found the perfect dinner spot here!

Pros:
We arrived early for our reservation and the server apologized for not having our table ready (which we knew, since we were early), took our drink orders, and offered us a seat at the bar to wait. That was very nice of them.
Drinks were delicious and the bartenders were all friendly.
Our server, Aaron, is probably the best server I've ever had. He was inviting, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the entire menu. Listening to him describe different dishes made me want to try everything.
Beef carpaccio was amazing. They had used some gastronomy to make "balsamic spheres" that you ate with the carpaccio.
I ordered the tenderloin medium rare and it was perfectly cooked throughout the entire cut. Using the marrow to spread on the steak gave it amazing flavor.
Courses were timed perfectly. I did not wait very long between courses and did not have multiple courses being served at the same time.
Cons:
Near the end of our meal, an enormous cockroach appeared out of the wall and almost crawled in my wife's hair. Fortunately, the table next to us noticed it. The servers took care of it quickly and the manager came out to apologize and offered to move us tables, but we were almost done. I understand we are in Louisiana, but with how much we were paying for our meal, that was quite unappetizing and expected more than just changing tables.
We ordered a dessert, specifically avoiding anything with peanuts or tree nuts because I have a severe allergy. Aaron recommended a modified dessert, but came back and told me that all desserts had come in contact with nuts at some point. Thankfully Aaron and the kitchen staff were watching out for me. Again, for as much as we were spending, we expected for there to be some kind of dessert I could get, especially since my allergy is very common. At the very least, there should have been a warning on the menu.
I really wanted to rate our experience a 5, but those last two things really put a damper on our evening. I hope those issues can be fixed for future customers and would be willing to give them another try the next time we're in town.

I forgot to take pictures of this amazing meal, but I highly recommend it! They age all of their meat on site and you get to choose from 2 different ages on some of the cuts. They also have a separate case by the bar where you can stop in and get the steaks to take home and prepare yourself. That's a nice perk! All of the appetizers we had were fantastic, but my favorite was the grilled artichoke hearts. The server was on top of her game and realized I was a lefty very quick into our meal and made it a point to place everything on my left side. You don't find attention like that very often. Sadly I do not remember her name, but she was amazing! We usually have Howie as our server, but he was off tonight. He is one of the best servers you'll find in the area. All of the meat was cooked perfectly to the desired temperature. While we were waiting for our dessert, I had to step away and make a phone call, when I finished it, I had the opportunity to speak to the kitchen manager and one of the other guys. The manager was happy to have the chance to speak to a customer. I told him how fantastic our meal was and shared all of the details about the meal that made it a very great meal. He was all smiles and thanked me for taking the time to share our experiences with him. We were one of the later tables in the establishment so when we left, the kitchen was taking trash out. The manager saw me standing with my family and he came down again and spoke with us, he also introduced us to several of the kitchen staff and told us their position. I felt like he really cared about the success of himself, the staff and the restaurant. The whole experience was one of the best I have had at any place I've dined. From me and my entire family, this is the place to go if you want a very high quality steak and an amazing meal, service and overall experience. And I can't leave out the bartender, we arrived a little early and waited at the bar for the remainder of our party. The bartender was great as well. When he described drinks, you could tell he knew their specialty drink by heart. There were 3 of us and each got one. He was spot on in his descriptions. You definitely will not regret going here!

Food was delicious, but the host staff are a bit stuffy and don't seem to care about pleasing the patrons. We had reservations for 10, and accepted that our group would be split between 2 tables. However, they put us at 2 tables for 5 in different rooms even though the one room had a vacant 5-6 top table next to one table in our party. Very strange and made me not want to go back. Too many great restaraunts in NOLA to settle for a stuck up and stuffy place like this. Too bad.....

Cool place in the French Quarter. Recommended by a friend. We started with the Tomato celebration and the special scallops. Both were very good but suggest you ask for their salts, a delicious variety, they both needed it. The bread with the different butters and olive oil was great. Be sure and ask for that. As an entree we got the bone in filet. We ordered medium rare and it was cooked perfect. Be best part was trying to eat what we could off the bones. For dessert, chocolate martini was delish. The manager Dontay came over and introduced himself, that was nice to see and of course now that Troy works here we will be back to have dinner very soon. We go where Troy is. I rarely write online reviews, this was such an exceptional experience that I felt I had to mention it.
Coming from New York we eat out a lot, though every dish I had here was the best I had.
The service was excellent and personal. We do have some dietary restrictions and the staff was super attentive. The appetizers (tuna tartar, tomato festival and Kobe beef) were Devine.
The steaks: I feel that it would not be an overestimate to say they are some of the best meats I encountered. They select only the best 2% out of all USDA approved meat.
The chef - Shachar (which we had a pleasure to meet) is truly an artist. The butchers cut is out of this world and the rib eye was spectacular.
The desserts... OMG.... You just can't go wrong. We had the halva and the panna cotta deserts, both amazing .
If you are in New Orleans, do yourself a favor and visit this place.

Amazing meal for my birthday but the service left something to be desired. However, the classified cut made up for that. No where else in the city, so far as I'm aware, can you get an end cap of rib eye - which is what the classified cut is. The beet root appetizer was also out of this world.

Best steak I've ever eaten in my life! Got the 21 day ribeye and fiancé got the 31 day. Overall the 31 day was good, but wasn't so much better than the 21 day that you'd want to pay the price differential.
As far as appetizers go, we got the beetroot supreme and the carpaccio. Never tried carpaccio and was amazed at the molecular gastronomy by creating red wine pearls. Definitely a nice touch! The beet root, oh my goodness, I can't say enough about this dish. It was so rich and full of flavor. Unexpected and unlike anything I've ever had!
Side dishes, I had to knock off a star for the asparagus gratin. Maybe I just didn't get this dish, but the cheese and topping did nothing for the bitter, crunchy asparagus. Might want to rethink this one. Thankfully, our waiter had brought us truffle fries by accident and they were nothing short of amazing. Same goes for the truffle polenta. I could've eaten a vat of it. I really enjoyed my dessert and wine as well.
Overall, definitely go here if you want an amazing steak and something out of the ordinary steakhouse experience.

Japanese Wagyu Strip is a must have. Heaven in your mouth. You can ask for the cows certificate and everything. Also can buy the Wagyu to take home and Sous Vide yourself. I've done both, the Restaurant experience was definitely more enjoyable. Worth it!

Paired with excellent service and good atmosphere, Doris Metropolitan is without a question one of the top 3 restaurants I’ve ever been at (and I’ve been to some J).
