Reviews of Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse
Rafael Quinones (Dr Q)
Irish oriented steak house with a superb wine list.
Service is great although they only serve one bread service even if the party is big. You can get more if requested. Food was perfect. Great crab cakes, salads, and turtle soup. Steak dissolve in your mouth cooked to perfection. Asparagus, potatoes, and egg plant salad amazing. Desserts to die for. Overall one of the best experience for our party of 5.

The food was phenomenal. Steaks were cooked perfectly, mashed potatoes were great, the mud pie was tasty as well.Waitstaff kept cutting through the dining room, one waiter almost knocked my boyfriend out of his chair, another waiter was helping with a large party next to us knocked our table pretty good almost spilling our wine. Not a sorry or even a look our way. They asked me if they could clear my salad plate as I was putting salad in my mouth. I poured my own water and my boyfriends water three times during dinner. For $165 I expected a little better service. The food was really good though.

From the start of this adventure I knew it was gonna be great. I called last minute to get a table got a sweet lady name Faith she couldn’t give me a reservation but told me to come on she promised there wouldn’t be a wait. We got there we were seated and from there it was fabulous. The drinks were great the Whiting staff just magnificent and then the food if I could give it more I would definitely a five star steak was unbelievable the sides just fabulous couldn’t recommend this place more if you’re in New Orleans go there get your fillet get the crab meat get the cream bully super

MY Nephew was a Waiter at this Restaurant so when his family visited him in New Orleans he took us here to eat. Dickie Brennan's is a fancy Steakhouse restaurant. With cotton white table cloths fresh baked bread and butter.Unlimited for the table and tap water served fancy bottles chilling in a bucket of ice. My Dear the Steaks are delicious and cooked the way you want them. The sides are amazing, I love the cream of spinach mashed and mashed potatoes. Don't forget the dessert if you have room. I will definitely come back to eat here when in New Orleans.

I went to this place for an anniversary dinner. The atmosphere was impeccable but no where near as good as the service. I forgot my waiters name but she was amazing. I also enjoyed the food. The steak was delicious. I didn't care for the au gratin potatoes because the potatoes were not fully cooked.

My husband and I had dinner here on a Saturday night. We say anything from men in suits to men in shorts and hats. Women were well dressed (pants or dresses). The staff and attention is exceptional. Everyone is extremely well trained and professional. The managers (in suits) are everywhere and want to know if you’re happy. We appreciated that. We loved the amount of private rooms they have (in case you have a private party). The bread is yummy and they serve it in a bag that is warm. We had the crab cake as an appetizer and it was honestly THE BEST crab cake I’ve ever had. No breading, no add ins, full on delicious REAL crab meat! Also had the Fraser salad, it came with anchovies (you can opt them out), but I love them. We ordered filets, My husband got it medium rare and made just right. I ordered mine medium and it was more towards medium rare. It was very very very pink inside. It was delicious and tender. Our waitress Irene, was AWESOME! The servers are on point and your meals are served all at the same time- white glove! The max and cheese- OMGGGG- you just try it. The only reason I gave it four stars was due to my filet not being the right temperature I wanted and the ladies bathroom floor was a little dirty ( super sticky, my shoes mares sounds when I walked). The staff is really on point and they care. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

A very enjoyable experience, both in food and ambiance.Waitstaff was friendly, and knowledgeable and at the same time, discreet. The turtle soup was tasty with just a bit of heat. When they asked if I wanted anchovies on my Caesar salad, they meant it! see the photo. The steaks were seared and cooked to perfection! Still mid rare inside! I regret the tallow fries and wish I tried one of the other sides. Also, didn't realize the bananas foster (invented at Brennan's) was for 2 so I regret the creme brulee - which was good, but the bananas foster - prepared table-side, can't be beat!

Had a wonderful chateaubriand and great experience at DB's! Really cool old-school vibe. Loved the tiled floors. Great service and drinks too. Highly recommend this spot for steaks!!
Amanda Strange
What an incredible experience! We were celebrating our anniversary and this was the perfect place. Our server, Alfredo, was incredible. He made everything so special for us in every way and was so good to us. The drinks were strong and food was phenomenal. Asparagus salad was a delicious start. The signature strip steak with Cajun spices was to die for, especially with their house peppercorn sauce. The au gratin potatoes was so yummy. It’s a meal I’ll dream of until we get to return again. Truly a fantastic experience and a NOLA gem.

Micheal is the best waiter! He made the night so delightful. We started off with a loaf of their French bread and it was true French bread, very good.
Next we had the crab cake and delicious.
After our appetizers came our salads and we were NOT impressed with them. First off wedge salads are not a real salad in our minds and the blue cheese dressing was so strong! I mean it was a taste that didn't go away fast and was way to strong to enjoy. I got the Ceasar salad and it too was a wedge. It wasn't an enjoyable salad.
We both ordered steaks and they we perfect! Great flavor, perfectly cooked. No complaints with the steaks.
The sides were asparagus and Au Gratin potatoes. The asparagus was perfectly cooked but the potatoes was plain and needed some salt.
For dessert get the coconut cake! It was so delicious!
Over all it was an enjoyable dinner, a bit pricey but it was worth it.
John Short
We went for dinner this was our second time dinning here and it was excellent. We had steak with shrimp and scallop potatoes. We had dessert and my husband had two drinks an I had wine. The total was $160.00 before tip and just a wonderful experience.
Valerie Paxton
Such an iconic steakhouse feel. Thank you so much for accommodating our party of 13 in your private dining room (plus even more family members in the main dining room). We enjoyed every minute of our time there. Great service, wine and the option of ordering from the New Orleans Coolinary prix fixe menu or the standard menu. Our steaks were perfect and I didn't hear a single complaint from anyone in our party. We appreciated every bit of the Brennan southern hospitality we've come to expect. We'll be back next time we're in NOLA!

This was our first time ever to eat at Dickie Brennan's and it was a great experience! It's where steak, fish and seafood meet cajun...or NOT (your choice). Great service, fine desserts and optional private rooms for groups makes it just perfect!

Wonderful professional staff. Wine list is exceptional. Food was amazing! Best steak that we've had in New Orleans! Highly recommend! New Post: Revisited this place for a third time. Excellent food and service, as before. My only concern was that the dress code doesn't seem to matter anymore. There were a few tables with customers dressed nicely. But, mainly, the others were dressed in shorts, flip flops, t-shirts and jeans. Disappointing that they aren't stricter about that. Especially, for an elite restaurant and for special occasions.

One of the highlights of our NOLA trip. Wait staff is amazing. Food was delicious. Very relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Had a wonderful pre-gig meal at
Dickie Brennan's Steak House
this evening.
Always a fantastic atmosphere and amazing service there.
Started with:
Buffalo Trace on the rocks with bread service.
For dinner I had:
Petit Filet, medium rare with
Potatoes Au Gratin
Everything was perfectly cooked and the service was amazing.
Thank you so much

Jeremy was fabulous. He was always on time with drinks and our questions. Steaks was delicious. Atmosphere was awesome. While bourbon Street was packed and loud it was nice to step into a place where everything was slowed down for a bit. First time here and I will be back. And ask for Jeremy for your waiter he was great!! Would’ve gave it 5 stars but filet was over cooked 1st time(very dry) and second time under cooked( asked for medium plus got almost rare). Still very nice place to grab a steak.
Sandra McLachlan
Quality service. Amazing atmosphere. The fish is as good as the steak. Get the chocolate cake, it's divine.

We couldn’t have picked a better place for a 60th birthday dinner for my father. If you envision a perfect setting, ambiance, and menu for a steakhouse - Dickie Brennan’s is it! Wood paneled rooms, walls lined with bottles of wine, beautiful table settings and display. Napkins passed out based on pant color. We enjoyed delicious cocktails (dirty martinis, espresso martinis, sauzeracs) and wine flowing throughout the meal. We indulged in chateaubriand, house filets, asparagus, scalloped potatoes, and oysters. Our waiter Jeremy was the epitome of quality service - great detailed recommendations, perfect pacing of the meal, and kind + personable. Our only disappointment was that we didn’t have room for dessert! We also liked that the restaurant was not directly on Bourbon Street so we could enjoy a slow paced, lovely walk up and down Royal St from dinner.
shen jiayi
We try the special 32oz one, too much for two to finish....
The chocolate cake is good and I love the escargot !
Pauline Bohn
Food and drinks were just delicious, great steakhouse atmosphere. All so enjoyable but it was the service that made the evening memorable! The host kindly did a bit of scrambling to accommodate our walk-in, much appreciated. Our server Irene was outstanding! Professional and polished service, so warm and friendly. Really loved our visit!
Hari Mani
My group all got the sides, a good selection of cocktails and each of use got a medium rare steak. Closed out the night with a number of desserts as well.
The meat was cooked meticulously. All the sauces were delicious and the cocktails were strong but well balanced.
The real star were the sides. The au gratin was the standout starch but the real star was the spinach. This is a cant miss. The spinach was spiced perfectly and was addictive.
This is a must order when there.
Only reason for the lost star was the mashed potatoes and tallow fries were a bit underwhelming. Also the size of the sides area bit small for the price. That all said, still would come back whenever I’m in town.
Kelly Ekwurzel (KellyEk)
I highly recommend this place.
We had planned to go to a place down the street but it was closed, so at the last minute we decided to go to Brennan's. It was delightful. The food was delicious, well plated and served by friendly and professional staff. Can't say enough good things about the place. The filets were cooked to perfection as was the red fish. Topped only by the fabulous bread pudding.
One member of our party was disabled and they were so very helpful in accommodating her needs.

When you have a special occasion that you want to celebrate, and have the money, Dickie Brennan's is one of my top 5 places on the planet.
A half block from the World famous Bourbon St., you can walk off some of your overindulgence. 😁
Kori (our waitress) made our anniversary celebration very memorable. She treated us like we were newly welcomed members of her family. 💕
She seemed to read our minds when we wanted something.
The crab cake was the best my wife has ever had! (She's a major crab cake lover too.)
It was So good, we forgot to take a picture of it before we woofed it down. 🙄
Our ribeye steaks were cooked to perfection, topped with cajun butter.
I was told by 2 friends that their Turtle soup is THE best in the south, but I wasn't feeling adventurous enough to try it.
I'm a vanilla ice cream lover.
They make their own in-house, and it is the best I've ever had in a restaurant.
What a surprise!
GREAT place! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

This place is AMAZING place to spend your birthday... From the moment I walked in, I was treated like a princess. Instead of pulling my chair back, The hostess actually pulled the table back So I could just sit in the booth.😳 My waitress FAITH, Took such good care of me and I’m not the easiest person to deal with. But she made sure that my drink was perfect. She was very attentive and this was a Friday night and they were very busy. She would not let to much time go by without checking in on us. When I got my steak, the flavor was amazing, it did not require any type of steak sauce. Even the pecan birthday treat was scrumptious. This place is probably one of the best restaurants in New Orleans. I would recommend that you make Reservations ahead of time and they do valet your parking. The best part about this restaurant is it in the French Quarter.
Melissa Weaver
The food and drinks were delicious, some of the best we had during our visit. What made our experience over the top was the wait staff and bartenders. The service was phenomenal and they had us laughing to tears. If you are looking for a fine dining experience with top notch food and have a sense of humor, this is where you need to visit.
John Edinger
Great steakhouse!! First rate service!!! Delicious steaks and sides!! Definitely a first rate place!!
susan collins
My all time favorite steakhouse. The gumbo and turtle soup are fantastic. Perfectly cooked steak. I get the filet Oscar every time.
Tory Orozco
The steaks were good, although they came out basically raw and had to be sent back. Was expecting a bit more variety of cuts for a steakhouse, but the ribeye was good. Service was impeccable and probably why I would come back. Only downside, like most places in NOLA, it smells musty/moldy and the tile floors are slick.
Miami Summyr
The best service, and we've been to steakhouses all across Florida, Tennessee, and Chicago. Hands down the finest experience, wonderful waiter, from the bread, salads, filets, and mac and cheese! Can't wait to visit again and come back. Worth the money, make a reservation!!!
jennifer housos
No doubt that I will come back every visit to New Orleans. My steak was perfect. The atmosphere was great. Our waiter Alfredo (de Mexico city) was the best... So helpful and professional.
Richard Talley
The service was amazing! The food was fantastic! We were in a quiet room, but the group behind us was loud. It didn't ruin our night though. Definitely a place to return to!
Danielle Steward
My girlfriend and I were so grateful to be seated for an early dinner without a reservation. Steaks were perfectly flavored and the chocolate cake didnt dissapoint! Our server Don was a great compliment to the night, with his charm and humor.
Mike Styles Experience
The service was great. The food could have used a little more seasoning. They were out of crab meat, but not a big deal because I had fish. Check it out, but I would recommend that you make reservations before going.
B E Padgett
I ordered the house steak which was a filet mignon with creamed spinach, potatoes and flash fried oysters. The sides that the steak came on were perfectly seasoned and tasted amazing with the steak. I drank the Yamhill valley red with my meal and it was so delicious. I loved this red with my steak. The wait staff was so lovely and I enjoyed our experience.
Jason Kern
Visited for our 20th anniversary. There were no online reservations available the week prior, however a call to the restaurant and they were extremely accommodating with providing a reservation within 30 minutes of the time we had hoped to eat. Staff greeting us, seating us and serving us were extremely friendly. Lorenzo was our waiter and very knowledgeable, attentive funny and engaging. The food wasn't prepared perfectly and lacked some taste as I'd expect from a high end steak house, but the attentiveness of our waiter push me from 4.5 to 5 stars on this visit.
Charles Landis
Sensational! I had the 6oz house steak with cream spinach and fried mussels. The coconut cake was to die for. The turtle soup was amazing. We all really enjoyed this meal.
Brian Allen
Food was pretty good, I ordered my steak "medium" and it did have a pink center but parts of the edges were transformed into charcoal briquettes. Service was OK but it took well over an hour to get our meal.
brandon schwartz
House filet was good, not quite the same as picture we had seen prior. Bbq shrimp were very good, and enjoyed complimentary anniversary dessert!!! Don’t judge a book by it’s cover looking at the outside of the restaurant, very good food inside!
steve fulghum
Everything was amazing. Jeremy did an amazing job with everything. Definitely try the BBQ shrimp, even on the ribeye. The dessert was incredible too and I got bday ice cream.
Jessica Boser
The service and food were amazing! We almost cancelled our reservations because it was the night before we were leaving to go back home after being in NOLA for almost a week, but we decided to still go. We are so happy that we did. It ended up being our favorite meal. We will be back!
Rob Sterling
I have been coming to Dickie’s for over 20 years! I’ve been to New Orleans probably more than 2 dozen times and they never disappoint! The ribeye is absolutely amazing with signature crabcake with no breading is phenomenal, and the service is always top-tier
A Baig
Good food and ambiance. However, the steak was quite pricy and not worth $69 . Service was amazing, friendly, and very welcoming .
Britt F. Frey
Excellent service with a three-person team that were friendly, attentive, and willing to fix any problems without any trouble. The truffles mac n cheese, potatoes au gratin, and scallops were amazing. The steak and fried oysters were very good, just not as good as the other three items. Happy hour has two drink choices for 5$ each that are good, but a third option might be good. Eating in the bar is preferable to the main dining area, to us.
Joe Harr
Good, very good steak, excellent service. I don't think I made it to the dress standards of the restaurant, shuttled straight to the bar area without even asking me.
Greg Treadway
Really a superb restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the excellent service started. Great tables and decor. The Turtle Soup was fantastic - add the cherry, you'll thank me. We had steaks of course which were prepared and cooked to perfection. Our waiter Marquis was wonderful. We're just NOLA visitors, but when we come back we will be coming back here. A+
J R VanOrder
Went for thanksgiving lunch and was great. Service was great and food was really good. They had a turnkey dinner special if you wanted that.
Gerald Varnado
You have never experienced the best waiting staff in the entire City of New Orleans until you've been absolutely pampered by the Waite staff at Dicky Brennan's Steakhouse. The food is always perfect no matter what you ordered. the wine selection is second to absolutely none. Please do yourself a favor and visit. I would recommend reservations just in case. Don't miss your opportunity to treat yourself and yours at Dicky Brennan's Steakhouse. Weather it's a special occasion or just a taste for the absolute best, you'll never go wrong here.
Damnit Liam!
Absolutely Poggers, the steak was cooked to perfection, had the Ribeye, truffle mac, and table service was very kind and helpful. Great place to spend Thanksgiving eve! Dad payed btw
Lyn Morein
I've been many times, and it just always gets better and better. This was my first time partaking in their Reveillon dinner and it certainly did not disappoint! Stellar staff, beautiful wine list, sexy setting, and amazing cuisine!
Amy P
Extremely tasty! I enjoyed my filet so much! I got the baked potato and they put a lot of sour cream on it so if you don't want a lot make sure to tell them. Save room for dessert, the sweet potato cake is where it is at! It is huge and could be shared. Very romantic setting. The service was impeccable and you will never be needing anything! If you're looking for a great place to eat, you've found it!
Tyler Higginbotham
A rainy night turned into a great night at Dickie Brennans. Lorenzo was on point and made sure our dining experience was lacking nothing. The food was perfect, Surf and Turf, and Lorenzo made sure that our wine glasses were full.
Tish Forsythe
I have experience the best waiter of my life at this establishment. His name was Lorzeno, he catered to us beyond expectations and he worked wonders on my autistic son. Lorzeno is a blessing with how he continued to help my son and made him feel at ease in a strange town to him.
Thank you to this kind man and you put a new life in humanity for us
Michelle D Santos
This place was a great restaurant and the staff was super friendly especially Rory. He took the time to talk to us about different places in the city. This was our first time in New Orleans and he made the start of our vacation super fun.
John Tucker
Love the wine list...try the Jonata cabernet, very good. Steaks are flavorful, but ours had to be sent back because they came out much rarer than ordered. They fixed it, tasted good but the dishes did not look the same after the extra heating, because the sauces lost some of their consistency.
Robert Carpenter
This is a good restaurant. Kind of a dated, cigar lounge feel which fits in well with the mafia mentality you'll need to get in and out of the area it's in. Bourbon Street and the New Orleans area in general is the most lawless place I've ever been. In the world. I'm assuming that's not advertised because it would kill tourism but go at your own risk.
Thomas Calvit
Incredible experience. Best steak ever. We'll be talking about this dinner for years to come...
Priscilla Atkins Bryant
Everything was great! Food was delicious, filet cooked correctly, banana foster-mmmm!! Wait staff was very attentive and professional. Very classy and elegant atmosphere.
Tamera Foster
Very pricey and elegant but maybe over the top. If you like all the extras of crumb sweeping and towels on the arms etc It's great. Food was very rich but tasty. We were tucked back in a corner in a separate room from main dining. I would opt for elsewhere if I return to New Orleans
Corrisa
I've been waiting for a fine dining restaurant to knock us off our feet while we are here and this isn't it.
I never tried turtle soup before and it was awful (not their fault)
Escargot was very underwhelming and I've had several on this trip.
I love the atmosphere but the drinks are high priced and the quality is to be desired
Gregory “Saint”
This is an elegant restaurant with a good service and great food... if you like to have something more fancy and you want to spend money as well this is the place for you... the duck meat I tried was delicious... tasty and well cooked... Mac and cheese was good also with a heavy cheesy flavor... main also were good with chicken and beef as the main food with asparagus and potato wedges... everything was great... chocolate cake and creme brûlée were the cherry at the top... a good experience for sure with a great stuff and very quick service...

In the middle of Downtown New Orleans
First try.
Park valet close by to the restaurant, you’ll get the discount to pay parking when you tell them that you’re going to this restaurant.
Small like cafe restaurant, or the small
Bar.
Nice atmosphere, we can choose smoking or non smoking area.
You’ll get the waitress/waiter and some helpers. At first we got confuse which one I need to order the food from, cause they don’t introduce them selves.
Ordered
Hot tea and wine
steak, salad (separately) they add anchovy, fried oysters, lobster, creme brûlée, lump crab.
The only most favorite part the perfect temperature and taste was fried oyster.
Steak was so rare (ask for medium well).
Salad was soggy
Lobster so dry
Creme brûlé sooo extra sweet
Lump crab least flavor
Hot tea only chai tea or green tea; I said can I pick from the package so I know which one and they came out with earl grey and English breakfast 😏.
I’m the end of meal, They were asking if we want the espresso I said okay.
Got the bill charge for 5$ each they usually free in other restaurant. I like to sip it I think I’ll take it to the hotel (where I stay), remember the restaurant don’t have the lid for the togo cup.
So I said okay I take it anyway, since I might need it for the morning. Return to the restaurant from the restroom (in the front) they locked the door cause they close. Hmm can I take my cup? (I explain) They said no, it’s close. What a waste 10$.
Alisia Ned
The bbq ribeye and shrimp tasted delicious but the mashed potatoes were not seasoned. The second entree was the 6 oz filet, which was cooked to perfection. The sides were a tablespoon of creamed spinach with 3 fried oysters on top and some cubed potatoes. They were disappointing because they were lukewarm at best and not seasoned enough. The dessert I chose was given for free for my birthday which was the king cake dessert. It was soooo good. The service was excellent and the staff was very attentive
Kathy Stephano
Had no idea how elegant this restaurant is. Truly enjoyed our Thanksgiving Dinner. Staff there is excellent
Justin Lattierre
Excellent experience, Jeremy at the bar was great; food was amazing one of the best steaks I have had, a must stop when in the area.
B. Applbaum
Beautiful upscale restaurant with outstanding service. Server was efficient, well informed and made wonderful suggestions.. drinks were well balanced and wine list was stunning. Food arrived quickly and was displayed beautifully and cooked to perfection.
Jeff Genac
A local suggested this as the best steakhouse for our anniversary dinner. It was the first place that came to mind. Very elegant and delicious filet mignon!
Jorge Toro
This is a very nice restaurant. Their steaks are top notch and always cooked perfectly to order and if its slightly under or over they take care of it with no questions asked. I love ordering the crab cake app (pure crab meat with no fillers like bread, like most restaurants do). Cowboy bone-in ribeye and the triple chocolate cake makes for the best 3 course meal!!! Voted #1 twice in a row, what else needs to be said or asked?
Michael Kruger
They ran out of crab meat so no crabcakes 😞! Went there on a Saturday night, pretty crowded. Good thing they validate next door. The ribeye was pretty good. BBQ shrimp was ok. Nice selection of wine beers and drinks. We were also given a choice of desserts (celebrating our anniversary) for free. Nice touch. Mention a special occasion when making reservations and they'll make it special. We picked french toast bread pudding, it was delicious.
Elle B.
I came here for my birthday dinner suggested by a friend who lives in New Orleans and it was the best decision we could have made. From arriving to exiting, the service was spectacular. Corey was amazing! His hospitality made me feel special as cheesy as that sounds 😂. But the entire staff is exceptionally friendly and super attentive. I had the BBQ glazed ribeye and WOW. Every bite was so flavorful! I left feeling extremely satisfied. Dickie Brennan's has set the bar for service and food. Thank you for the great experience!
Matt Hughes
Probably one of the best steaks I've ever had. Definitely give it a try it lives up to its reputation.
Travis Bullion
Had a strip steak with baked potato and mushrooms. Everything was fantastic. Sometimes you get what you pay for and this is one of those places.
Jordan Seals
Excellent service. Especially when dealing with with a large party. Steak was ok. Good flavor, but extremely fatty even for a ribeye. Was expecting much better quality from a steakhouse.
A B
Wow, what a fabulous steak house. Our food was amazing! The place has a great ambiance and the wait staff is amazing! Our experience was top notch with a top notch meal. I highly recommend visiting them for a great night out!
Arnett Mumford
Food was solid, but our server was excellent. She had extensive knowledge and handled our spirited group of friends with care and ease.
matt william
Steak was good. soft. I think my steak was a little over cooked. But my friends medium rare was perfect. I’d recommend the macaroni it’s really good. Mashed potatoes was averaged. Desert was not good.
Benjamin Altose
Certainly one of the best steaks you can get. We came with a big group and had a great time. Our server was excellent and so was the food. The steak was top notch and the location is great right in the French Quarter. I would strongly recommend visiting if you are looking for a nice meal in a beautiful environment and I would absolutely return. After eating here, every steak I eat is compared to what I had here and almost none can begin to compare.
KG Catucci
Dickie Brennan's is my "Go To" in the French Quarter. Food and service are incomparable.
Staff is friendly and efficient. And always ready to grant a special request. Have spent my last 6 birthday dinners there. The Chateau Briand platter is to die for. Best turtle soup I've ever had. Perfect deserts.
Bartenders craft flawless drinks, and the wine list runs the gamut.
Jacky B
What an amazing experience. We were taken care of by Kent, Roc and Alfredo. What an amazing team. Please make sure yo make a reservation other wise it's hard to get in the main dining room area.
The food is amazing..honestly!!! Yummm
Alex Farris
Best steak in town. Possibly best steak I’ve ever had. Service was top notch as well - one of my top dining experiences of all time. This restaurant in underpriced for what you get.
Rosa Lee
The drinks on point, food was good. Service outstanding as spected.
Tu Ffy
Awesome food and service. The Chateaubriand was amazing and enough for at least 4..great veg and sides. Great cocktails and wine list too. Beautiful and cosy setting in the bar. Fantastic.
Kevin Sullivan
Very good steak, potato and mushrooms. Excellent service John was the best he Rocks.
R.A. McCarthy
Everything was wonderful. Service, food, and ambiance. We were there during restaurant week. Great value for the best twin medallions, caprese salad, and creme brûlée. I do believe that is the best steak I have ever had.
Katie Sample
Veeeeeeeeery expensive. Great food and great experience. (Just know you’re going to spend some money$$)
KeepItReal Facts
I ordered the mash potatoes appetizer..My 2nd time there from Florida.Love this place. Finally was able to eat downstairs this go round. The gentle who has been working there for about five years showed us great hospitality and knows his wine.
A Sirbil
The crabcake super good other than that I don’t recommend it You could see in the picture the steak it’s burn. And they don’t really care about
Jamie B Sellers
Fantastic fried oysters!
Kella Wood
Great experience! The food was top tier and service was excellent! Lauren was the best server and gave great recommendations for activities in the area.
Tom Glynn
Great food, service and atmosphere. Absolutely top notch.

Had a fantastic experience at Dickie Brennans. We ordered the 24oz Ribeye and the lobster and both were truly amazing. Alfredo waited our table and was awesome. Decided that when we are in the French Quarter we are coming back to see Alfredo!I
Lisa Karas
The most amazing steak I have ever had! Service was impeccable also.
Corissa Landrith
My husband and I were in NOLA the 1st week of August. Every trip we take we go out for a nice steak dinner at least once. Dickie Brennans has been my favorite experience out of all the places we have ever been. When we arrived we were shown the bar to have a drink while we waited for our reservation time. The bartender was a nice man and he chatted with my husband about bourbon. After a short weight we were taken to our table. The waitress was so attentive and sweet. Our food was AMAZING! Lobster gnocchi was to die for!! When we were leaving the waitress was talking about my dress being gorgeous and called me beautiful! We will be back! ♡ thank you for making us feel so special ♡
david stempler
Really good food and friendly service. Perfect dinner after walking all day in the Quarter.

Absolutely loved this place! Food, drinks, service were all amazing! Great place for a date night!
Mike McCormick
This is a great steak house restaurant. Great service, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Nice mix of food selections. This is not a cheap restaurant but the quality and consistency of the food has been exceptional in my opinion. Never got a bum meal here ever.
Toro Webb
We received cold meals. The steak was seasoned well and cooked to temp but was cool to the touch when served. Our server was very pleasant, but we expected hot food in a fine dining establishment.
Jerry Williams
Great experience! Lovely decor and excellent service! Eric W and Dawn were magnificent! Our steak was prepared as ordered and so juicy! Make room for the sweet potato doberge cake!
CHAD STEWART
Amazing meal.. The epitome of fine dining... Escargot with marrow butter, 24oz cowboy cut rib-eye.. On Point! A must when in New Orleans.
Molly Storz
Discovered Dickinson Brennan's for the first time and were really pleased. It is expensive, but the food was delicious and the atmosphere and wait staff pleasant. The wine list is the size of a phone book but we were able to find a midrange one that we enjoyed. We will definitely return when we are back in New Orleans.

The food here is worth the cost, a great place to have a romantic night out or business dinner. Perfectly situated location and clean. Dickie Brennan's also has an amazing bar and a fantastic selection to complement the food. Classy, clean, accommodating, and a must go for anyone looking for a refined night out.

Best steak you'll get in French Quarter.
Chris Carl
The Brennan's simply know how to do food, especially NOLA food! Be sure to get one of their awesome toppings for your steak.
Dan Taylor
One of the best Steakhouse experiences I've ever had. On par with Delmonicos. Steak was prepared to perfection. Sides were creative and delicious. Drink (Manhattan) was well balanced. And don't pass up the wonderful Bananas Foster at the finish.
Claudia Satterfield
Oh my-this place has the most AMAZING service and fabulous food. Thank you Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse for a FANTASTIC evening with friends! Our table had Creme Brûlée, Sweet Potato Doberge Cake, Coconut Cake & Creole Cheesecake they were all AMAZING!!!
Stefany M.
We had the Chateaubriand & it was really good! Way to much food for 2 people but we tried 😆! The photo is what we had left over!! …
Jack Chelton
One of the best meals I have ever eaten. Amazing food, incredible service and great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Mark Caltabiano
Nice steakhouse and great crab cakes. Steak was delicious, and the service was top notch.
LeeAnn E
Always a luxurious experience with multiple staff taking care of each table. Definitely a great place to splurge and celebrate birthdays and anniversaries or any big milestone. Salads are amazing, steaks are perfect, dessert is worth saving room for!
Eric Bruce
Great visit. Other than a steak my wife needed cooked a bit more, it was a solid experience. The waiter was very personable and included my children in the service. A lot of times, servers kind of ignore little kids, which is fine. But our guy went the extra mile and it was very kind.
Michelle Bergstedt
During a pandemic you still want to celebrate your wedding anniversary, so we stepped outside our bubble for this superb dining experience. As locals, we’ve been several times before, and always really felt safe and cared for. This visit was just as enjoyable. Chris our waiter was amazing and will be requesting him going forward. The CHATEAUBRIAND is to die for. Come hungry - leave happy!

Great food , fun bartenders . We ate here on Thanksgiving and it was great
Lindsey Mangus
We went here after being told there weren’t enough servers at another restaurant (aka didn’t want to serve a family with young kids). We were looking for kid friendly, and they MADE it kid friendly for us. The food was delicious!!! And Lorenzo was an amazing server. He treated our kids like gold. Would go back again in a heartbeat.

Dinner last evening was delicious. We started in the bar where my husband enjoyed a tasty (and well-priced ) Manhattan, had a couple more with dinner. We shared the asparagus salad, very good. Ordered the chateaubriand for two dinner - excellent! Comes with vegetables, three kinds of sautéed mushrooms, two potato dishes, three sauces and a 20 oz melting tender steak. Everything was cooked to perfection. My glass of Valravn Cabernet was perfect with the steak.
The service was top notch, at the bar and with Faith and other staff in the restaurant. A lovely experience, we look forward to returning soon.
Dr Roger Burt
This was very very good food, I felt the price was way over the limit more expensive than it should be. The staff were alert but the place was tiny small and seemed a little dinky. But definitely a good place to eat if you've got lots of money!
Roger Li
One of the best old fashioned’s I’ve had in NOLA. Their Caesar salad was pretty good; not a huge fan of the uncut romaine since it’s just messy to work with and most of the dressing was near the stem instead of the fronds so, could have been better. The strip steak was delicious, but it needed the marchand de vin sauce for the salt. The sweet potato cake? Absolutely delicious, would recommend anyone to get it.
The service was amazing.
Omar Ezzeldine
I have high standards for a pricey steakhouse. If this wasn't high end, I might give it 4 or 5 stars. The crab cake was very good and the creme brulee was just the right amount of caramelization and creaminess for me. Unfortunately, the strip I ordered was undercooked even though I asked if this steakhouse cooks a little lower than is expected. I was told they did not, but my medium plus came back medium rare in the middle. They offered to heat it up a bit more, but when it came back, it was clearly a different strip than the original I sent back. Then he came back with "the rest of it," but it clearly was the original. I suppose I should be happy I got the extra steak, but by then I had lost my appetite.
Claire Lamby
The servers were fantastic, kept checking on us and making sure we were enjoying our dinner. My husband enjoyed his steak and dessert, homemade sorbets. I enjoyed my three layered chocolate cake. The one thing I was disappointed in was the vegetarian option. The reason we chose this specific steakhouse was their online mention of a daily vegetarian option, when instead I received an assortment of their vegetarian sides for $38. It wasn’t even a uniform meal; potatoes, veggies, mushrooms, and cream of spinach. I just wish if they aren’t willing to have a vegetarian option, don’t list that on your online menu. Otherwise we enjoyed our meal and service! Definitely would recommend, but not for a vegetarian 😉

Nicko was awesome amazing food, overall a great experience
Manuel Perez
Steak was thick and juicy what else can I say 👌 …
Lori White
Excellent. We eat here every time w visit new orleans
Breeanne Waltman
We visited here tonight, we decided to not go with our original plan of dinner we were celebrating our unborn being a boy!!! and everything was excellent the house water was very refreshing, my husband had the house bbq steak it was so flavorful and tender I has the wedge salad and it was fantastic we had the creme Brule for desert and it also did not disappoint the bread was very fresh and our serve "marquees"? Was very professional and attentive, we NEVER had to ask for anything it was already done by the time we would had gotten around to asking this is our new favorite place now when we visit, we will make sure if Mr marquees is there we have him again very great guy!
Brad Dechenzio
Absolutely amazing. Only thing better than the food was our server. Ask for Lorenzo, he's fantastic.
And the long Island.... omg.
Wouter de Bie
We really enjoyed this place! The vibe is very old new Orleans with guests and staff dressed properly. The drinks are great and the food even better. We shared the Chateaubriand with 4 people. The meat was delicious, as were the sides. Highly recommended!
Liz Mora
Best steakhouse we have eaten at thus far. Food was excellent and cooked to perfection.
Gator Chris
Very nice atmosphere. It has the old school steak house vibe, and a nice decor. The food was very good, but I wish the steak had a bit more flavor. Fabulous place, and worth the money. Great service, and very friendly staff.
Joe Zenga
My wife and I both had prime strip with creamed spinach, potatoes ah Groton, ceaser salads, fried oysters( exceptionally good), our waitress, Lauren was very very friendly as was all of the staff, highly recommend, thank you all for a memorable evening
alexw265
Overall 5/5 Value 4/5
Service was outstanding. My friend and I ordered the shrimp appetizer, the turtle soup and the chateaubriand. Everything was very good, but pricey for what you got.
Julie F
Great time
Thanks for hosting our aunts birthday party 🎉
Michael Raggio
The service was excellent, but the food was just adequate. I have admittedly high expectations for a meal of that cost, but other restaurants in NO have entirely meet my expectations. Simply stated, I have had much better steak. The extras were great, but the steak was just ok.
Letisha Scotland
Service was top notch! Bijan was very kind and attentive. Best steak I've had. Excellent experience, can't wait to return.
Rosa Elena Espana Urresty
This place has the most wonderful steak in New Orleans.
Dino Githens
Everything was excellent and fantastic job by Marquis!!! I recommend the Chateaubriand...
Aron Garza
Very nice steakhouse. Our server was great and very informative and friendly. Made our visit great. The food was also right on point. This was our first time trying this place and it will not be our last. Overall I really appreciate the service and great food.

This review is from several years ago (2015 I think) but the experience pops in my mind from time to time. My wife and I were in town with my father and his wife. As we were waiting to be seated I noticed my dad, who always meant to be funny but often came off a little rude, talking with a couple of gentlemen who appeared to be in charge of the FOH. He was complaining to them that he really wanted to eat in the oyster restaurant near by and that he was disappointed that charbroiled oysters weren’t on the menu. I was a little embarrassed, but it was no big deal and we were seated shortly after. Once seated, one of the men my father had been talking to came to the table and explained that our appetizer and the first round of drinks were on the house. Moments later a massive plate of charbroiled oysters appeared. My dads face, PRICELESS! The rest of the meal was wonderful! This to me was the definition of hospitality and excellent service! A great food memory!

We had a friend recommended Dickie's to us and decided to give it a try. We read multiple reviews regarding the prices, service and quality of food.
First, the prices seemed in-line with the location and choices offered. We're in a touristy area, so we expected to pay a little more. For the two of us, with tip, we spent $270 (30% tip). That was comprised of 7 top-shelf cocktails, 3 appetizers, 2 entrées and one side a la carte.
Second, from the moment we walked in, the service was excellent. We arrived early for our reservation and explained we could wait at the bar until our time, but were informed our table was ready and we could seat early if preferred. Once sat, our server immediately took our drink orders and returned promptly with them. From that point on, the staff was continuously checking to make sure we had all that we needed and that we were completely satisfied. Suggestions were offered, questions were answered accurately and our requests were accommodated without attitude or hesitation. Even the young gentleman that scrapes the bread crumbs from your tablecloth between courses, was willing to join me in a low-key birthday song to my wife. The service really was noteworthy.
Finally, the food was delicious. We tried the escargot, crawfish cake, turtle soup,, BBQ ribeye, petite filet and potatoes au gratin. We felt that each item was uniquely crafted but not too overboard. The steaks were cooked perfectly. Many reviews mention the seasonings being too little or of food blandness. That's personal preference so not everyone can be happy. For us, the only seasonings we used were additional pepper and cherry in the turtle soup. Again, not needed, but preferred. To complete our meal, they brought my wife a small scoop of ice cream in a hand-made pastry cup. It was a nice gesture that topped off our experience. The portions were appropriate, well presented and served at the right temperatures.
It was a fine dining experience.
Lance Lafargue
The meal we had was geared toward tourists - folks that don’t know better. Disappointed that steaks were over cooked, sides were not prepared to order (barely warm). One side was badly overcooked. Expensive wine was not decantered and should have been. There are too many other options in New Orleans to go back. Was like a hotel meal catered to hundreds.
Jessica Dees
Sooooo good. My husband, 11 year old son and I ate here last night and It was fabulous. To start our waitress was so friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is a delightful calm break from the disaster Bourbon street has become. And then, the food, oh so good. All three of us loved every bite, but mine was the best. (I didn’t taste theirs to be fair)
They has a Pris Fixe three course meal and I chose the fish. The fish was amazing. I like fish, but rarely do I love it. My family always rolls their eyes when I order it because I will undoubtedly dislike it, usually to complain about how it ‘tastes like fish” ;) this was cooked in a homemade citrusy and strawberry sauce and a hint of spice. Just writing this I am hungry for it again. My husband and son both had steak and couldn’t stop raving about it.
If you’re a fan of creme brûlée... definitely try theirs. Fresh vanilla beans, perfectly made.
Go here, and enjoy every bite like we did.
Mark Noble
The steaks are as good as I have ever had. The cowboy ribeye is beyond amazing. The creamy spinach is wonderful as well. The service and staff are A+. Out of about 10 visits, I would say only once was I not 100% pleased.
We just ate there for our anniversary and it was excellent on all fronts.
c burden
Great service, great drinks and phenomenal food. Alfredo was our food server and expert and he gave us good advice. We split a large fillet that was perfectly seared and creamed spinach which was the best I've ever had even if it was more cream than spinach. We also had the bbq shrimp appetizer. As for drinks I had a round about and good lord was it good. I hope I'll be able to make it back there sometime. We ordered a triple chocolate cake as well but that's still in the fridge because we were so full from the meal last night.
Brooke L.
The salad and steak were amazing!
Tara L
It was an experience to say the least. This is a high end restaurant with pretty pricey dishes.I had a steak that was pretty good and cooked to the correct temperature. But it didn't stand out from most steaks that I get when out. My husbands steak was way more fatty than mine. Both of us got the same cut. I enjoyed the sauce that came with the steak. The sides were nothing super special. But the service was amazing and the team was knowledgeable. I would come here again for a fancy sit down. I just might try another dish.
Bill deTurk
Dinner in the bar was delicious and elegantly casual. Dickie showing support for local culture by playing classic NOLA music. Our server John exceeded expectations!
Katie Dube
We just had a couple glasses of wine in the bar... Staff was friendly and wine selection was good. The decor probably could be updated a little. Understandably in the world of covid this will wait. Over all nice.
Sean Edge
We had an amazing meal at the bar here! The escargot appetizer was so delicious - we loved sopping up some of the butter sauce with the fresh bread. Our entrees (chicken stuff w/ sausage & prime rib eye) were cooked to perfection! Our bartenders (Tony & Matthew) were attentive and great help suggesting other places to check out while we were in town. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in New Orleans!
PS - The homemade Worcestershire sauce was amazing on the steak.
James Farrar
This place is amazing. Have eaten here twice and both times have been blown away.
Tonight was no special occasion, but we were still treated as royalty and the service was exceptional. There was always a rotation of fresh water, soda, or spirits on the table. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the desserts were perfect. The manager made it a point to stop by the table and chat with us to ensure everything was satisfactory.
On that note, we had the pleasure of having both Isaiah and Christopher be our waiters tonight. Both men were well spoken, polite, and prompt. Easy to hold a conversation and quick to check on us.
I would recommend this spot to locals and visitors alike. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
Daniel Adams
The staff were very nice and personable. For a steak house the steak was average at best. I ordered medium rare, and yes it was cooked to that, but it was barely room temperature by the time it got to me, but the potatoes were hot. So that tells me they did not time the food equally, not a server issue. The AuGratin potatoes were served hot but we're a messy, greasy disaster. More oil in the bottom of the serving dish than imaginable. They are the only restaurant having a ppe surcharge. So that is obviously just a money grab. Oh, and they were out of menu items for the night....yet I was there for first service. That tells you they just do not stock appropriately.
Neil Annis
Mystery 5% service charge, horrible ambiance. I can say the food was decent. I live here, doubt if I will return. I spent a lot of money to basically be treated like I was in the way, with a reservation. I really wanted to like this place, but your service standards are in stark contrast to your menu prices. Do better.
Mark Holifield
This restaurant has a great ambiance and is perfect for special occasions. The staff are phenomenal and you really feel like you’ve gotten the VIP experience. The food was good. However, there were a couple of things I don’t recommend. The duck was undercooked and not very flavorful. My wife like the gumbo but I thought it was a little bland for myself. My son has the steak and oysters while my wife had the fish. Both were great. However, the best was dessert. We had the coconut cake and cheesecake. The are must haves
Tara Widby
This restaurant was amazing. I will say since the pandemic started I feel like dining out has not been as good all around since bc ( before covid). The service at Dickie Brennan's was above my expectations! The food was also above my expectations. I ordered the petite filet, shrimp and the potatoes au gratin, my husband ordered the house filet. The steaks were cooked perfectly, the sauces were flavorful and the potatoes.....speechless. If you're looking for an excellent steakhouse meal this is the place to be!
Ioannis Skaftouros
One of the best Steaks!!! Flavorful, well seasoned and well cooked. All the dishes we tried were unique and well prepared. Good job to the service and to the chef/cooks. Overall very well managed establishment. Spotless bathrooms also is the start to a good impression.
Matthias Knoche
Fantastic steak and stellar service at very reasonable prices.
I did not expect to get red meat of such quality in NOLA given the city’s general tendency towards seafood. But this place really does it right. My medium rare steak could not have been better, side dishes and dessert were fantastic, service staff was super attentive - we had a great experience here!
The wine list is longer than necessary in my opinion but that’s hardly an issue.
Prices are very reasonable - of course it’s not a bargain, but certainly worth every penny. We really enjoyed our dinner!
Uwe Kuehner
Had one of the best ribeye steaks ever. Pricy, but worth it. Staff was great, overall very good experience.
Paul Bregman
Great food, Gerri makes excellent cocktails and conversations.
Ted Gallardo
Temperatures on my wife and my steaks were way off. She ordered hers well done, it came out rare. Ordered mine charred rare and it hardly had any color and it was raw. The rest of food was fine.
James Coletti
Great food and service. Big John was awesome
J S
All around solid, probably a little overpriced for the quality of the food but it was still good. The only other complaint I have is that while service started out really strong at the beginning of our meal, it faded down the stretch. I believe our server got additional tables and was overworked which was disappointing. Other than that, fun place to have a nice meal.
Steven Dixon
We had a few drinks before dinner, wine during dinner. Our steaks were cooked to perfection.
The staff were on point and made us feel like we were the only guest there.
We made a reservation the same day as our dinner, for a Friday Night, and we got right in, awesome.
Kristi Stemper
We were not really prepared to eat somewhere so nice but the host was great to accommodate us. The service staff was excellent, we had a hangry baby and they never responded with anything but a smile and a solution. Our food was, incredible. My husband said it was the best steak he has ever had. I'm sure I'll hear about it till we return.... or I die haha
I will say it's a great place for a date or buiness dinner. I won't take my kids again... it's too good and I'd like to enjoy it!
Tracey Wiley
Excellent service and food was delicious.
mikebfit
Perhaps this place was great at some point...but it sure isn't now. Went for dinner during jazz fest 2018. The decor is fine. The food is mediocre at best, and the service is fine, but not exceptional. Our steak actually took an hour from when we ordered, and ended up being over cooked. Wouldn't go back.
BettyDollaz Billionaire
Upscale appearance we didnt make or a need a reservation. we were seated right away.
waiters/waitresses were friendly. food was prepared correctly and served in a timely manner . Taste good . I dont care for seafood or steak but I was starving. My drink did not have no taste of alcohol and I had 2. 👎🏾 They had 5 gentleman serenading guest, they sound great . 👍🏾 This place has a pleasant vibe I would recommend and return
Michael La Scala
Staff was great. Very attentive, helpful and pleasant.
Benny Sanchez
A really good steakhouse with one of the best atmosphere’s in the city. We used to frequent DBS a few times a year but had to venture out to other great restaurants around here. Great bar specials and great people watching.
Misty Fujinaga
Best Crab Cake IN Town!!! If you do Not get a Crab Cake here, You Missed Out!!!!!
Nicholas Linzenmeyer
This place is really nice! You'll pay a bit more, but great atmosphere, good wine, the gumbo is pretty good. The prime rib was just ok though. It was cooked well, just not great flavor. I would definitely try it again though.
Paul Wattigny
Really was looking forward to dinner last night. The service and starters were very good. Unfortunately, my filet was not what I would have expected. My friends redfish was so salty it wasn't edible. I did politely tell our waitress but she simply apologized. No offer for something else or to take it off the bill, both entrees were barely touched. I've eaten here several times and always really enjoyed it. Not sure if we'll be going back.
Jacob Authement
Food was fantastic. Atmosphere was good. Sazerac was fantastic, also. Dress code is not strictly enforced and this lead to the table next to us being occupied by at least one person who did not believe he needed deodorant. Luckily, they were seated after we ate.
Esther Longoria
So good! Our first time eating here and the food and service was beyond excellent. Our waiters were prompt and friendly and the steak didn't need a knife! Drinks were mixed impeccably too! We will be back!
Mike Williamson
Best Steakhouse in Louisiana. Hands down. Love this place. I had a business trip to New Orleans last week and I took my client here for dinner. Service is outstanding. Food is outstanding. Of all the times I have eaten here, I have never gotten anything that was not of the highest order. I cannot recommend this restaurant any higher and this is considering all the great restaurants in New Orleans.
Richard Potter
Didn't meet my expectations for a "top 10 in the USA" steakhouse. House filet was just okay. It came as ordered, medium-rare, but was not all that tender or flavorful. Others who had it liked it much better than I did however. The beef Wellington appetizers were delicious, as was the creamed spinach with fried oysters.
Scott Harm
Sometimes or maybe more often than not, once you have noticed, too much of a good thing does not turn out to be such a good idea. Such was our experience here when we had a "team" of four waitstaff (gender neutral might I point out) belaboring about our table. For the record that was a "one-to-one" relationship of service staff to patron which proved to be overwhelming.
It might have gone better. No wait. It WOULD have gone better had they been orchestrated better and had specific assignments. Maybe in reality they did, but it sure didn't seem like it. No sooner had we told one that "no we don't need anything else" when the next one would turn up and ask "is there anything else we can get for you?".
Don't get me wrong, I'm very well seasoned with experiencing professional wait service but this was out of hand.
I loved the more common attention to detail, like the dark cloth napkins set upon dark clothing and white cloth napkins set upon lighter clothing and the refilling of beverages and the removal of unwarranted service items like the extra fork or spoon you didn't need but the hovering was mind blowing. Each of the four in our party expressed the same frustration with our almost constant interruption of or private conversation.
Otherwise the food was most excellent and was nearly not as expensive as I had anticipated.....
It's just....pull it back a few notches....please!
Jordan Zaner
Very good for the price. Caesar salad was a quarter of romaine, would have been better without the end, but the anchovies were tasty. Prime rib lacked flavor but cooked well. Coffee was excellent
Drew Ruggiano
New York strip has been my favorite for 5 yrs now. Tonight they were off. Service excellent as always.
Scott Looney
After several days of seafood we were in the mood for some steak, and this place delivered. I could tell upon entering we had made a good choice as the staff was very efficient, sharply dressed and well trained. The selection of wine and cocktails was top notch. We both ordered a steak with potatoes and vegetables to share. The ribeyes were nearly perfect, nicely seasoned and cooked precisely as ordered. The au gratin potatoes were delicious, with crispy bits of cheese on top. The vegetables were a medley of 3 or 4 different things which unfortunately had been cooked so long I could barely identify what they were. A minor issue really that we didn't complain about or give them a chance to rectify. Would def go back.
Michele McNamara
Dinner was absolutely wonderful and our server, AJ was amazing. If you have a taste for a great steak, you have to come here.
Sajith Joy
Went here for my bachelor party. Got a private room upstairs with a server for a cocktail hour before dinner, then went to a private room for dinner. Food was outstanding, drinks were on point, service was excellent. You cant go wrong at this place! Thank you for hosting us!
Craig
Came from Minneapolis and stayed in the Quarter. We hunted local Cajun and creole for a few days but decided we wanted a steak the last night. Went here and it all went right. Found us a good table in the bar, changed the TV for us, mixed up some good drinks, brought some great bread, made a suggestion on the food that was spot on, and the food as great. Good service all around. Would definitely return.
Ann johnson
Everything is good!! Had filet, and sides, chocolate bread pudding. Waiters were very attentive!!!
Kathryn Walsh
The man tending bar, Matt, was amazing. He provided exceptional service to go along with the exceptional food. My husband and I got the happy hour beef Wellington bites and then split a prime rib with au gratin potatoes. Everything was amazing. I can't wait to come back next time I'm in NOLA!
Deane Osner
Great service and food
Made my anniversary special
Sarah Hartje
My party of six had an exquisite dinner at Dickie Brennan’s in celebration of my friend’s birthday. Service was superb. The cocktails were well crafted and the food was flawless. These elements are what we expect every time we dine here and we have never been disappointed! I am already looking forward to my next visit!
P. S. I recommend the crab cake- the best in the city- & the coconut cake. Order them & you’ll thank me.
Paul Nowosielski
Only going to give a 4 on the food but a 5 on the service. Our server Kathleen was fantastic. Very personable and very knowledgeable. Tended to all of our needs
Kelsey Smith
When you order a $50 steak, the intention is not to wait an unreasonable time only to have to have it remade, to then have to take it home and reheat it to eat later. 100% no bueno.
I am only giving this place 3 stars because our servers were terrific. The kitchen was not, and probably deserves 2 stars. We ordered a steak medium and got it well done. The server was horrified when we showed her the center. This was after an excessive wait time for the food (I can understand a wait but even the folks who had been there before us were looking fed up). We ended up getting a replacement steak to go.
My scallops and fried oysters were good, but nothing to write home about. Certainly not enough to outweigh the steak ordeal. The creme brûlée was slightly above average.
I would not recommend this place to anybody, and I would never go back there intentionally. It's a total bummer because the servers were top notch. I could maybe give the place another chance but I definitely wouldn't feel inclined to waste the money.
David Keyser
Excellent main course desserts are great
Mark Hill
Amazing place that the service and food are equally good. We have came to NEW ORLEANS. For 3 years in a row for a conference. Dicky Brennan's is on our must go place. Had the 24oz porterhouse and ate every bite. My girl had the oysters. They melt in your mouth. The coconut cake is a slice of heaven! We will be back next year....
julie alonzo
The staff was very friendly and the food was sublime down to the bread and butter...Carnivores all over will love it here! To be honest the price range varies upon what you order but I assure you it will be well worth every penny. There is a little detail to remember, if you are wearing sandals you will be moved to a casual room with a bar instead of the main dining room so you may feel more comfortable as you dine however you still recieve the same excellent service. We didn't need to make a reservation and we were seated immediately after walking in. I would definitely come back.
Frank Aquilone
The best dinner I've had .....my server was Leann who was professional, witty, and entertaining to say the least....the captain, Trina was awesome, helping us with menu choices and also professional and entertaining.....then the Chef Greg who came out to explain how the delicious escargots was made. The food was out of this world.... though pricey it was worth every single penny....will definitely revisit
Rhonda Magee
Food was delectable as always! Our every need was answered and anticipated by the arsenal of waitstaff! Great atmosphere for a romantic celebration or just dinner with friends. Menu greats would be the prime ribeye, truffle mac n cheese, and sweet potato doberge cake!
James Pummell
One of the finest dining experiences in the French Quarter. I've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Service, food, and atmosphere are all exceptional.
Toya Dominique
Megan is awesome! She had no problem checking vegan options. She stayed calm and professional no matter how wild my friends and I were 😂 Awesome food and atmosphere. Thanks again Megan! …
Tay
Food was really good! Im a picky eater and I don't eat seafood. I had lobster with my prime rib and the lobster was amazing, I'm obsessed now and love lobster. The best prime rib ever, all the food was very well seasoned. The mashed potatoes were also amazing!
Larry Compton
Excellent service and elegant venue. Food is standard for high end steakhouse. Worth a try- check out the bar while waiting or if you can't get a seat.
Auto Dent Company
I wish I had 5 sons like Mark. What a great and attentive server. I will be coming back here only because Mark, the new server, works here. I love Mark
Bill Merritt
Excellent food, and excellent service. Please understand this is a premium steakhouse. The steaks are nicely aged, flavorful and fork tender. The staff is very responsive without being hovering. I will go back when I am in town.
Fred Watson
Filet was delish, prepared perfectly and super tender. Too expensive though for no sides or salad. Bread was odd. Great wine list. Bring your wallet because the bill adds up quickly. I gave 4 stars because the steak was truly great. Don't bother with the sauce. Doesn't need it. Wait staff tried really hard to please and we're very attentive, but lacked the class and sophistication I expected for these prices. Caesar salad had some of the best romaine I have ever seen. Baked potato with cheese and bacon was great, but $8.50? Really? I would rather be at Bern's in Tampa. Much better experience.
Neil Williams
I wish I could give this place 10 stars, because both the food and service were above and beyond my expectations. Jeffery was an amazing server, and I've never felt so welcomed in an establishment. If hospitality, and extremely wonderful food is what you're into, this is the place! This restaurant made me wish to stay in New Orleans indefinitely!

The food was mediocre. I had the sheepshead, which came with onions, mushrooms and spinach. Overall, it was good. My husband had a steak. He reported the seasoning was lacking. We had two sides: the potatoes au gratin (the cheese was messy and made the dish off) and asparagus (not cooked long enough). It took 20 minutes to get the bottle of wine we ordered. It actually came when we got our food. We had the bread pudding for dessert. It was the best part of the meal. I would not return because EVERY steakhouse I have been to was better from pricey ones like Elways, Flemings, etc. to Texas Road House. Just not worth the money or the wait.

Seeing all the other reviews hard to believe how our experience went. It's an upscale steak place, so you expect them to know how to cook a steak. I know when I go to Texas Roadhouse my steak will always miss the temperature mark but you would expect this place to be dead on. Unfortunately my prime rib came out more medium well than the med rare I requested, the chateaubriand and one of the filets came out undercooked and the duck that another person ordered was completely raw inside. The food was still tasty and the service was phenomenal but come on, really how can most of the meals in the party be that far off?

An outstanding restaurant. Impeccable service, from another era. The four of us split the two petite filet meal and added to it. I am a bread pudding aficionado, and Dickies is outstanding! It’s more a loaf due to its large portion, which we all split.
We were so happy with our meal that we came back the next day to eat in the bar. White tablecloths and again superior service. We had the Beef Wellington bites, drinks and again the bread pudding. I can not recommend them high enough to first time diners like me.

This was the 2nd time I have visited. As a vegetarian my meal was less than desirable but this is a steakhouse. I requested the chef make me anything vegetarian. I actually received the exact same meal I did 5+ years ago when I was there; grilled vegetables (mushrooms, lots of onions, peppers, a small amount of Brussel sprouts & asparagus). I was here on business and everyone with me enjoyed their steaks. If you like steak this is the place for you. The atmosphere is great and the service is very friendly and attentive. I suggest if you are not a meat eater, just get a salad and skip right to desert. The coconut cake is the best I have ever had!

Good wine selection. Wonderful oyster appetizer. The turtle soup was delicious. Service was beyond good. Oh, the chocolate cake was large and decadent
Robert Munshower
Food was good, service was outstanding. Overall I would say the cost only meets the atmosphere and service. To start the ceasar salad was tasty, but personally I would always rather a tossed Cesar with each bit evenly coated in a great dressing. Instead of a romaine heart with dressing poured on top especially since the dressing was disproportionately distributed to one side the presentation look nice but is impractical and seems more of a time saving tactic than anything else. The gulf shrimp topper on my steak had three or four large shrimp head on partially shelled, unfortunately the shrimp were very mushy on the inside. Once again pretty but impractical as I ended up with bits of shell and antennae hidden on bites of my steak. The steak had a good some good flavor, but was washed out by some oleo like substance that seemed to be poured over the top and all over the bottom of the plate, maybe from the shrimp? The asparagus was not trimmed short enough and the stalky tough ends remained on most of them. The bacon mac n cheese was was disappointingly dry macaroni with some melted cheese and a speck or two of bacon.

Great food and awesome staff. Good place to wine and dine for any occasion.
Jennifer Funel
We went for a wine dinner, and had an amazing time. They were so well organized, safe and the food and service was exceptional. I'm so glad to get a little normalcy back.

One of my fav spots in NOLA. Very good steakhouse. The steaks are very good here. The sides are awesome. The Barbeque Gulf Shrimp side was fantastic. Trufled Mac and Cheese was great. Creme Brulee was good as well. They have some great cocktail drinks as well. Prices are fair. The service was fantastic and would def go back again.

Talk about an experience! I absolutely enjoyed every second of my meal and the servers! I had the 14 oz ribeye just with the butter sauce and the au gratin potatoes! I was stuffed but managed to eat some creme brûlée. The severs were so attentive and so amazing! Honestly it’s one of the best steaks I’ve ever had!!!
Billie Johnson
Let me start off by saying our steaks were delicious! However the sides did not impress me and definitely weren't "sharable" like our server mentioned. I gave this place three stars because the service was a big disappointment yes the host were very friendly but our server did not engage with us at all I don't even remember her name bc I may have only seen her 3 times if that. This place is overrated for the type of service they provide. 5 star steaks with 3 star service. Not worth the amount of money you will spend for the "experience"
Chris Harris
The food and service were both excellent!!
Danny Dilts
Great, classy location to grab a delicious dinner. I had the filet that was prepared to perfection but lacked a little on taste. I prefer to not use sauce on steak and instead use its own juices. Unfortunately, I had to use sauce to give this steak some flavor. The au gratin potatoes where amazing, however, and so was the bananas foster bread pudding (the highlight of the visit). I would definitely go back but not for the steak!
Raoul Bukowski
A wonderful evening to celebrate a well deserved raise at my partner's job. We both had the prime rib that night, which did not disappoint and was so large I ended up taking some home. Don't forget the parking garage nextdoor validates your parking.
Chi-Chi Thomas
Great food I ordered a 20oz of stake and I enjoyed all of it. I thought it was too much at first for one person but no it was good and I got to try all the sauces and even got triple chocolate cake afterwards good food and great people it was my grandfathers bday and mom's graduation and they treated us like royalty I would love to come back when I'm in town

This is a very elegant local restaurant. The food was outstanding as was the service. Otis is a treasure!

I saw this restaurant featured January 2014 on Food Network. At that time I had never been to Louisiana. I had a trip to New Orleans last week. My brother took me to eat here. The food and service was far more superb than I could imagine. I had the filet and lobster tail as my entree, it was the best I have had anywhere. The steak was cooked a perfect medium temperature. The lobster tail was seasoned to perfection. I had creamed spinach and the corn brûlée as my side dishes both were delicious. We had the Mcilhenny’s oyster, my first time having fried oysters, they were so tasty. The pan seared lump crab cake nothing but lump crab meat no fillers a definite great choice. For the cocktails we had Amalfi cocktails that were totally delicious. For desert the 7 layer chocolate cake is totally heavenly. Our waiter Keith was truly amazing and attentive. My brother remembered another server from his previous visits to the restaurant, this young man gave all of us hugs and was very friendly. My overall experience was just truly amazing and if I ever make it to New Orleans I will definitely be dining here. I love to cook and I enjoy a good restaurant. Thanks for an overall excellent service.

Very fancy and expensive. Food was amazing just do NOT GET THE SOUFFLE!!! First it was raw then it was scrambled eggs!! TOTALLY RECOMMEND if you can afford it!!
Rich Figer
Great steak in a very well kept traditional steakhouse. The petite filet was quite good with great texture and flavor.
christopher piccio
The best steak house in nawlins. We ordered 4 rib eyes medium rare and it was perfect. The service was excellent and they even made me a special birthday cake free of charge. They even had 3 great local singers sing me a birthday song. If you wan't great service, superb steaks and can afford it, this is the place to go.
Trina Nobles Ward
Gumbo was very bland. Oyster steak was suprisingly well seasoned and tasty. Roasted sweet potato good, bread pudding was ok, nothing to rave about. They ran out of pineapple upside down cake on Thursday night?? We we there on Friday. How do you run out for the entire weekend? We were with a group, and had some problems with food not being served hot, and a waitress spilled horseradish sauce onto two if our company which was never cleaned up or rectified.
Mick Bordelon
Very very good steak. Best I've ever ate. Waiters are very attentive. And it's very impressive how they look at each drinking glass with a flashlight to insure no dust or finger orint. Very fancy.
Big T
Seafood gratin was excellent but needs to cool before eating or it will blister your mouth. Ribeye was great as were the potatoes au gratin. In the great Brennan's tradition this is old school NOLA. I was by myself and had 3 wait staff tending me. I ate in the bar but the whole place was quite elegant.
Dane Patterson
Starting positive, the service is the best I've ever experienced. Prices were 'normal' for a high end restaurant.
I was disappointed my meal was underwhelming. I ate the price fix meal of 8 Oz filet and 2 shrimp (head on). Starting with my Caesar salad, dressing had insufficient garlic and was overly sweet (a theme throughout the meal). Your basic Crafworks corporate restaurant delivers better dressing daily. Same for the blue cheese.
My filets were simple to the point of needing two times to be salted by me (I never salt my food). Again, Outback steakhouse has delivered me far better filet for half the price. It was tender, cooked to order (medium rare). The shrimp were fine. A little too sweet. The house-made Worchestershire sauce wasn't worth anything. Way too sweet again with no garlic bite and way too little salt. My mashed potatoes lacked sufficient butter and dairy to make it palatable. I almost thought I was eating a dehydrated potato mix.
Desert however was spot on. Best creme brulee I've ever had and we also ate a delicious strawberry sorbet with an amazing waffle like cone made like a chocolate cookie or such. It was really amazing.
But I went there for dinner and dinner was a pronounced disappointment. I would have preferredy usual fare at Outback.
Neal Kelshaw
Fabulous. Great quality, well cooked steaks with fine accoutrements. Wine list is good and suitable for all budgets with excellent waiter service and attention paid to the service throughout the meal. Live lobster aquarium if that's you choice of entrées. Great décor.
Jennifer Magann
Excellent dinner & atmosphere. Service was great and the three man team that took care of us could not have been more attentive. Steaks were melt in your mouth delicious. Great evening.

Best food and service I've ever experienced in my many travels. It's like the staff are dear friends and family that I've known for years, but only just met. The best dining happening of my life... exquisite, classic, memorable.

My family and I go to Dickie Brennans every year and we have enjoyed this tradition for 6 years. We love this restaurant. Yesterday was the first time we actually had an issue. We walked in without a reservation after a Saints game. I know it was not the best thought out plan. We gave our names to the receptionist and she said it would be about an hour. No problem. We walked out and went back to the hotel to wait. My husband called back to check the status and was put on hold for 20 minutes, he got frustrated and hung up. He then called back and Sam answered and immediately put him back on hold, so while he was in the phone on hold we walked back to the restaurant and walked in and the tabke was ready. No text like they said there would be nothing. This is a small issue I know but after coming back year after year it was a little frustrating. My husband and son loved the food and the service was fantastic after you got past the reception area. My daughter and I are vegan and we only come here to do the family thing. The chef did put together a vetable plate but there was nothing else on it. The waiter said he could get rice added to the dish but that did not happen. The price for the vegan meal was not what we expected for what we got. Just not the fantastic meal we were used to.
Jarod Harakal
Probably the best steak I have ever eaten in my life. I ordered the Porterhouse. I'm not sure which one is "supposed" to be more flavorful or better but I liked the opposite one. I ordered medium well, and even though it was practically well done, it was still the best steak ever.
Kris Mallynn
My family and I love this place. This is the third year that we have come to Dickie Brennan's on our way through New Orleans. The food is wonderful the atmosphere is fantastic and the service is top notch. We will be stopping here again next year.
Our service team of Vicki and Greg was amazing. Extremely attentive and they ensured that everything was perfect.
Maureen Wolfe
Best restaurant in French Quarter! It’s a little pricey-but we went on last night in Town!! Waiters were funny and professional. Steak was awesome! Everything else ala cartel but you can order one and share. I had sautéed mushrooms and 3 could have shared! Make reservation and you will love it.
Elizabeth “Libbie” Tenaglia
Wonderful service, delicious food! Clean and a bit "old money" atmosphere.
J bern
I know some reviews aren't great, but I've been here two times over three years and the most recent was just as good as the first. Excellent service, the staff is extremely detail oriented. The food is great. The atmosphere is great. The service is great. I can't recommend this place enough.
Tyler M.
Went here last night and I'll say I was skeptical because of some of the more recent reviews not having very good things to say. Well, they're flat out WRONG, because I took my girl here last night and we had a fantastic time.
Wait staff was on point. I was impressed immediately when they seated us at a booth and pulled the table out so we could just sit down without having to scoot around the table. A+ in my book because I've never been to a place that pulled my table out of the booth.
Next came our drink order. Not going to lie this place had bottles of wine up to $300 or more if you want to get that spendy. We couldn't decide but knew we wanted a good red wine since we planned on eating steak. Our waiter was very respectful and recommended something in an afforable range that was perfect not only just to sit and drink but also paired well with our meals. They also made sure to come by and keep our glasses topped off regularly, as well as checking in on us often enough to make sure we were good but not so much that it was annoying like some places do.
They took our orders shortly after getting our drinks. I got the 24oz porter house medium rare and my girl ordered the 11oz fillet medium. Both were absolutely fantastic and mine was on the rarer side of medium rare which is just how I like it. My girl's was a perfect medium. Both melted in our mouths and were very delicious. They let the quality of the meat speak for itself in that they didn't over/under season it in the least but you knew it was there, with some added flavor from a well seasoned grill. Basically its how a steak should be cooked. Bravo!
Next came desert. I decided to go with the triple chocolate cake which was fantastic. Had I not devoured my entire steak I might have been able to finish it. It was made well and not too rich like a lot of cakes that style I've encountered before. My girl got the creme brulee and loved it. No complaints here.
After that was done we were sitting finishing up our wine and a local a-capella group came by our table and sang us a song which was also fantastic but I'm not sure if its a regular thing.
Really, I'm just not sure how people have a bad time at this place because all of the bad reviews were just wrong on all levels.
Eric
One of the best Steak restaurants in New Orleans.
Sandy de Bie
Wowwww delicious! We shared with friends the big 20 ounce steak that came with several delicious sides and sauces. It was perfect! Chateaubriand is the name of the dish.
Tom Grattenthaler
Outstanding New Years Eve Dinner!!!! Filet cooked to perfection & Bananas Foster created a "fire hazard" delightful dessert🙂 …
Brian Gray
We had a party of 13 and everyone meal was fabulous. The filet Oscar style was perfect and the old fashioned was a hit.
Eric Forstrom
The food, service and ambiance here were excellent. I went with a large party and as such, we had a limited menu selection. Nonetheless, the server was most happy to accommodate my substution request. All in, this is one of the best places I have ever eaten dinner.
James Bond
My team recently had the opportunity to dine again at Dickie Brennan’s. Their barbecue shrimp are life changing. Simply spectacular! Their house made Worcestershire sauce is beyond compare. The restaurant is gorgeous and the staff are outstanding. I love Dickie Brennan’s. You will too! 11/10!
Tracie Ryan
This restaurant was fantastic. From the moment we sat down until we left the staff were great. I would like to give a big shout out to our waiter Otis. My partner is legally blind and Otis made sure that he had a great experience. Next time we are here we will definitely be coming back.
bob Petersen
Great service.
Came in at 4 for cocktail and Appetizer.
Sat at the bar.
A bit pricey but was expected.
All was very good.
Thank you
M Z
It was decent but expected much better for the price. I’ve had equivalent quality at several chain steak places that are half the price. It had a nice atmosphere though and the wait staff were generally pleasant.
kegan lewless
Me and my family just had dinner here and the food was incredible. Otis our server was incredible, and Gene his assistant were so attentive and very professional. Take good care of these guys and they will do the same in return. When I come back I will come back again!!!
Tracey Mattos
Food was amazing! Ribeye was superb and quite tender. Staff very friendly and courteous. Definitely recommend to anyone in or visiting New Orleans. A bit pricey but, you get what you pay for in quality...
Briell Wilkins
We literally set up shop at the bar upstairs for at least 4 hours. Alex was awesome and he made the best drinks. The walking Jazz Band played Britney Spears and it totally made our experience that much more, AWESOME.
Try the watermelon/jalapeno drink it's amazing!

Terrific steakhouse just off Bourbon St in the Quarter. We went on a Friday in September. Bourbon Street was hoppin' so it was interesting trying to get to the restaurant by car. The parking garage next door does free parking with validation, or you can pay for the valet parking.
We were about an hour early for our reservation, so we spent a pleasant hour talking at the bar. They make a wonderful Sazerac cocktail, a little heavy on the absinthe, but a NOLA must try. The wine by the glass list is a little thin, but the by-the-bottle selection is extensive. We were seated just at the time of our reservation. My companion had heard of the Bone Marrow Escargot, so we split it. It is an interesting starter, unlike anything I have ever had. The escargot and batter-fried mushrooms are served in the split marrow bone, smeared with "bone marrow butter," a very rich artery blocking sauce. For the main course, he had a Prime Rib which was a little fatty (but he finished it all). I had the Filet which was very tender. The Au Gratin Potatoes were an excellent side. We paired it with a nice Ama Classico Chianti. The desserts looked wonderful, especially the creme brûlée and the chocolate mousse, but we were too full to try.
Reasonably priced for a high-end steak house. Would definitely go again.
Kristy Makosiej
Great experience! Went there for our anniversary and felt spoiled. They went over and beyond to give us wonderful service and took the time to answer any questions we had. Food was good. Some of it was spicy but that is to be expected in New Orleans. Over all, it's a great place!

Recently held a dinner for 60 @DB and it was the best event I ever hosted. From top to bottom the staff was extremely professional, patient, and helpful. Janice C made sure every detail was covered prior to the event. The night of couldn’t have gone better. The staff was very attentive and made the night go flawlessly. Several guest were so complimentary of the outstanding food and its preparation.
Ok am rebooking for next years event.

This location has the highest ratings and reviews in New Orleans for a reason! This steak will change your life.... I travel all over for work and do business meals very often. I've been to steak houses from NY to CA and can promise you that this will be in your top 3 favorites!
Chris Geltz
Just OK. Kinda a tourist trap. Cesear salad was 1/2 a head of Romaine with 2 tablespoons of dressing. Side sauce was equally skippy, not nearly enough for entire steak. Wine list was extensive and expensive. Hardly any big reds for less then hundreds of dollars. Not sure the steaks were even Prime. I have had much better steaks at other meat emporiums here in N.O. I recommend looking elsewhere.
Mary Luke
Over rated. Went for my first time for a friend's birthday. The waiter seemed annoyed with us and the food was over cooked. We had the filet and lobster tail, and had to send the steak back, lobster and asparagus were mushy. Save your money for one of the many awesome New Orleans restaraunts.
Joyce Batey
The food was good and attention was given for my dietary needs. However not stocking and serving gluten free bread was very disappointing for such an upmarket restaurant. It is readily available, so no excuse. For those with coeliac disease where gf is a necessity, it is no fun sitting waiting for your food when everyone else is tucking into hot bread before your meal arrives. There is a high proportion of people with such needs and if other restaurants can provide, so can you. Please address this seriously, thank you
Durand Somerville
This place has an amazing experience awaiting you. Between the high class service, unique cuisine, and quality as well as quality of food. Bar none this is one of the best dining experiences New Orleans has to offer.
Nida B
Amazing service. The waitress recommendation was spot on. Grilled fish plate was cooked to perfection. Only 4 stars because the steak could have had better taste. I've definitely had better steak.
Keith Rappold
Excellent food. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Excellent steak, great sides. Friendly and attentive wait staff. Great place to go with friends or for a romantic meal. I will be back.
Joshua Matirne
Great food and dessert. Prime rib with the horseradish sauce was amazing. Huge wine list. Fantastic service, and everyone knew it was our anniversary and helped make it that much better.
Jenny Davis
Pricey, but the food was worth it. Service was good. Only missing a star because one person's order was forgotten. My house filet was perfectly cooked and the rest of the plate was very pleasing to the palette.
David Rohde
A true New Orleans experience. Excellent food (loved my rib-eye), sides were delicious and they have a very nice wine list. Also, fun staff!
jeff Weber
One of the best steaks in New Orleans. It is pricey but worth every penny. Wonder service, wonderful food. Depending on when you go it can be crowded and noisy, although even at its busiest it only effect atmosphere and not quality of food or service.

My wife and I were in NOLA for her 63rd birthday and tried with the hotel concierge to get into Ruth's Chris .. it was booked and he couldn't do it. He recommended Dickie Brennens (right behind the hotel) and we're glad he did. We were very impressed by the attention of the staff from management to servers, in the background, never intrusive but always there. Now the food .. beyond question, the best steaks we've ever had ! Special ordered creamed spinach (my way with a layer of parmesan lightly baked on top) .. awesome, au gratin potatoes that would please my grandmother (the best cook I've ever known). Decent prices and an excellent wine list and (according to my wife) the best Sazarac she's had in all of NOLA ! Our experience was so good we went back the next day.
Highly recommended if your into a dining experience you'll never forget .. we'll be back, with every visit to NOLA.
Susan Csaszar
Steak and service are the best in the city. Very attentive to drinks and napkins when they fall. You can have up to four servers. amazing... you be won't disappointed
Chris Cole
Great evening with friends. We all had different menus items, Prime Rib rare, filet, strip steak, drinks with dinner. We were constantly attended. Shared deserts, after dinner coffee. This was our final dinner on our trip to the WWII Museum and it really helped seal the bond between brother veterans.
Lisa Abraham
The menu is interesting and thoughtfully prepared. The service staff gives you the story behind the offerings. The drink menu is fun. Everything works together to elevate your dining experience.
Kevin Northrup
Incredible food with the best service ive ever had. Worth the cost for 2 reasons. a) because the food is out of this world b) the servers treat you like VIPs even if you are clearly not high salaried businessmen.
Dave Du
For the price it's not that great. Had a dirty plate and the menu was screwed up. For $42 for a 6oz mediocre steak the service better be flawless. Save your money and go to something uptown to get cleaner plates, equal service, and better food.
Soman VarGhese
High end spot with high end food & service results! Nice private room was excellent for party of 14.

I've been to Dickie Brennan's Steak House nearly a dozen times over the past fifteen years, and while I once thought it to be a very respectable steak house, my most recent experiences have not met expectations.
Deciding to head out to Dickie's with a friend of mine before an evening of revelry on Bourbon Street, I warned him beforehand that there are better steak houses in New Orleans, but I reasoned that this was going to get us to our real nightly mission fastest due to its fantastic location.
As I ordered myself a scotch, one thing off the bat that I noticed on this visit is that Dickie Brennan's is comparatively expensive in a city with so many great steak options.
I somehow remember the seafood gumbo being better at Dickie Brennan's. Containing chunks of andouille sausage, their gumbo is a bit of an oddity in New Orleans, with many restaurants preferring to use only shellfish in their seafood gumbos. Dickie Brennan's gumbo is not a particularly dark gumbo (despite their claims to the contrary), nor did it taste bad, but I could not find any seafood in it other than shrimp, despite it being billed as having P&J oysters and "seasonal fish."
I split the Barbecue Shrimp & Grits appetizer with my friend. They can offer this "Mr. B's-style" with heads-on, or peeled and de-headed. We opted for the latter, as we refused to wear a bib for an appetizer. The shrimp and sauce were good - the shrimp were served in a typical butter and Worcestershire-based sauce, not the type of barbecue sauce you'd find outside of New Orleans. The Jalapeño Cheddar Grit cake that comes with this appetizer tasted blander than it sounded.
For my steak, I ordered the 24 ounce Bone-In "Cowboy" Rib Eye daily special. It's a steak - it's hard to screw up a USDA prime rib eye done to someone's preference. I personally like my steak with a bit more of a crust (especially at medium-rare), but it was good nonetheless. The Pepper-Cream Bourbon sauce, on the other hand, is rubbish. I'm glad I only dabbed a little bit on some of my steak, as it would have ruined my meal. It's not an ill-conceived idea, but the execution is horrible. Not knowing whether it wants to be sweet or savory, it is a virtually inedible abomination.
My friend and I split a side of Potatoes Au Gratin which was underwhelming and undercooked.
Service was solid, as always. Overall atmosphere and lighting is great if you like steak houses. The dining room is filled with lots of ancient sugar daddy types with beautiful young women in fancy dresses. It's a nice place to dine. The food, unfortunately, does not always deliver for the price.
Dickie Brennan's is an alright steakhouse - but its inconsistency is maddening and I'm afraid there are too many other great dining options to keep it in my rotation of restaurants I will visit upon future trips to New Orleans.
Debbie Dunaway
One of my favorite restaurant and bar in NOLA. Great menu and great wait staff.
Joy Davis
Really nice place. Bbq shrimp was excellent. The filet was tender. Had to give back the sweet potato. I thought it was more like ruth chris sweet potato mash but it was just a bland potato. The moscato was good too.
Daniel Dresser
We had to wait almost half an hour for our table despite having a reservation. Service was personable and quick. The food held up to standards you'd expect- the Local Duo is excellent
Celeste Bowes
This is one of my fav restaurants, however don't do the bar menu! It's horrendous. The food took 45 min and I'm pretty sure the dishwasher made the cheese board. The food was cold and the service was too. I will never eat in the bar again.
Bob Filer
Fabulous food and ambiance. My steak was cooked to perfection. The cheesecake I had for dessert was creamy and delicious. Will definitely return and reccomend to friends.
Michael Orellana
Stellar service and one of the best steaks I've ever had. Pleasant atmosphere and nice proximity to surrounding hotels/quarter. Definitely will be back on a future visit.
Joe Craft
Dry Aged Rib Eye, 90.00 plus sides, was a huge let down. Did get some wonderful Appetizers and Corey and his Staff were awesome and great. Overall, a 3 out 5 star because the big expectations of a $90.00 Rib Eye
Michael DePew
Wonderful dining experience. $$$$ prices.
Brittany Young
The steak melted in my mouth. Our waiter, Alfredo was polite, attentive, and just amazing
Harold John
The food and service are excellent. There's also Valet parking to ease the pain of parking. Can handle large or small crowds. A must visit place for locals and tourists. The steaks are to die for. Reasonable prices also.
Mike Holien
Ok, first of Dickie Brennan's does cook a great steak. It's known for it's steak and they don't disappoint. The atmosphere is old school. Reminds me of a 70's Dirty Harry movie. Don't know why. The wait staff was great, attentive and the food came out on time. The salad was bizarre. Now maybe this is a thing, but the salad was a hunk of romaine with a drizzle of caesar. Odd, but made me laugh. Price was high. 4 stars from me.
W W Jr
Great service, I know it's a steakhouse but the mahi mahi entree was very fresh and excellent
Erika Mescher
I loved the filet I got with blue cheese. One of the best blue cheese toppings ever!!! I haven't noticed any complants regarding the dress code, they state that it is business casual and that they are a top steakhouse, when I arrived I saw people dressed as if they were at McDonalds. This was in the dining area too! Backwards wearing baseball cap, flip flops, shorts etc. I was just wondering why they were let into the dining room area. We also asked for wine but to have it served at dinner time and it never came. Besides that, I loved my steak.
Dan Howard
Old school steakhouse, great service and food!!

Ate here twice this stay, why look for it when you found it!

My wife, oldest daughter and her boy friend went to New Orleans and my daughter was looking for steak. We found this place, built kind of back under the city streets of Old NO. I was not that hungry, so I ordered a couple of appetizers, one being an $11 choice of their take on shrimp and grits. WOW! Stuck out as the premier food moment of our trip for me! Jumbo Shrimp still in shell with sauce ,10 0n a scale of 10) and a fried grits wedge with toasted cornmeal crust, it was PHENOMINAL! Also was given a little dessert of Key Lime Sorbet, being from Key West I can sure tell the difference, it was phenominal as well! I will go back for sure. Our waiter, cant remember the name, was extremely friendly and extra helpful and was as polite as humanly possible!
David A.
Kudos to all!
Nicci Brown
We were seated immediately without reservations and had an amazing meal!
Alfredo was exceptional!!
I would highly recommend Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse!!
Daniel McFadden
I believe this is the oldest steakhouse in New Orleans. They appear to have several locations and different restaurants spread over New Orleands these days. Our server was...interesting. He was happy to help and friendly, but rambled on a bit. Got the filet mignon and it was OK. The decor is what I would describe as fancy-old New Orleans style. None of us were overwhelmed by our food, but if you're in the area and want a nice, sit-down meal, it's not a bad option.
Laney McLean
Dickie's was recommended by a local for Happy hour. Great suggestion, because there are $5 happy hour food and drink specials from 5-7 (Moscow Mule, Manhattan, & bar food). Service was excellent and friendly at the bar. The hamburger was also delicious.
Annette Cranford
Dickie Brennan's is the best. We celebrate every special event there. The staff is great and our usual server, Ray is incredible of course. Happy Mardi Gras to you guy's.
Peg H
Really looked lovely since the renovation , excellent service , delicious food, we had a delightful night ...would definitely recommend this restaurant in the French Quarter of New Orleans on your next trip!
It is a gem that has lasted through the test of time !
Etowah Arms
One of if not the best steakhouse I’ve been to. The service and ambiance are incredible. The wine list is good and the steak is amazing.

Bryson Boehl
Great atmosphere, great service, great food. Loved it!
Craig Miller
Very attentive and friendly waitstaff, excellent food. Atmosphere a bit dated, but it is the French Quarter after all. Old style class and charm one could say.
Lynn Cronkright
Perhaps my expectations were too high. The food was okay, the staff assigned to us were very busy with too many tables so difficult to get attention, we were stuck in a small room that felt very claustrophobic. Dickie Brennan's has a good reputation but I would probably not go back. There are better restaurants in New Orleans for less money.

A wonderful meal! The steak was terrific and the service outstanding.

I was very pleased with the service and the food. The veal chop cannot be missed. A small fortune in asparagus topped by a beautifully roast chop, just the right amount of char. And so tender! Add the marrow bone for amazing presentation. My husband and I split this as well as two appetizers, the foie gras and the oysters. The foie gras was good, the oysters really good. The sauce and crostini complemented the oysters perfectly. Very reasonable price, largely because we split an entree (which was still enough for lunch the next day as well!). Great ambiance and a good drink selection too.

My favorite for steak. The service is the best you can find in the city. The drink and wine menu is quite extensive. It's a must dine for me every time I come to new orleans.

My experience was not impressive. Poor service. Food was ok. Atmosphere is nice.

I ordered the house filet of beef with shrimp. The meat was so tender I could cut it with a fork. It was delicious. This is a great place to go to in Nola if you want to treat yourself.

The steaks are as good as I have ever had. The cowboy ribeye is beyond amazing. The creamy spinach is wonderful as well. The service and staff are A+

The food was spectacular, and the personal service in the suite room was excellent. Great place to take a bachelor or bridal party.for high end dining.

Awesome food, amazing desserts, the staff was a little slow but that might be due to the fact that there was a conference in town and it was much busier than usual. A great experience nonetheless.
Robert Sakakeeny
Service was excellent, with Chris attentive without being overbearing. At our request he made suggestions for all courses and drinks.
Will be back.

Ribeye is my cut of choice. After years of knowing this place was here & reading the high rated reviews from local and national publications,we deciced on a visit to the city to give them a try.Expectations were soaring and anticipation was overflowing. The whole experience was a dining gem a long time coming. The steak was cooked to perfection.Highest ratings for service, atmosphere & quality of food are deserved. The Brennan family know what they are doing in the restaurant business no doubt.

The best crab cake I have ever had. Service was amazing. We were seated immediately even without a reservation. Highly recommended!
Roselynn Paredes
Nice place but definitely not worth the money. Steaks were not that good, even one was burned and dried out. Server was nice.

Great food. Great upscale atmosphere. We were celebrating a bday and they had an Acapella jazz group come sing at the table. Niiiiiiice touch!!!

Excellent upscale steak restaurant. Great atmosphere. Excellent service. Steaks cooked to perfection. Good side dishes.
JC Weeks
This place is pricey and I personally feel that the food did not justify that. The shrimp in the dish were overly salted and not fresh at all. However it was all saved by the bread pudding. I would go back for that alone
Shudylyn McHargh
It was my friend's birthday and we went to celebrate. Rickie was an amazing server! Thanks Rickie!
Food and service was splendid. Couldn't have asked for a better server and service!

Our family has made Dickie Brennan's our Thanksgiving tradition because the food is always amazing, and the service is unmatched. The wait staff always treats you like a star and are always very helpful.

No impressed. Good, not great. Doris Metropolitan has the best steaks I ever had. Better then Delmonico's in New York. I ain't kidding.
Richard Brubaker
Great meat, fancy drinks and staff. Why in the world are you not easily able to order the cool martinis at the bar? No matter, everything else was great. Thanks!
Mark Trewhella
Staff outstanding. Kitchen had a problem with our meals, but management addressed it properly and gave us a discount and free desert. I would go back
Dan Ross
Food was amazing. Service was great but our waiter disappeared on us for a while. Still worth 5 stars in my opinion.

Very happy to have got in considering it was booked. My steak was great, but I ordered it just under medium and it was between med-rare and rare.
Allecia Pottinger
The food and service was excellent. Kathleen was a great wait staff person

Always a great visit, but this time Alfredo was our waiter and he was fantastic. He's been with the company for over 20 years and still does such a superb job! Thank you!
